"The 2 hour delayed and the seats were very uncomfortable for economy"

They tried to request ppl to take next day flight by giving away 300 gift card etc. the ppl who were told there are no seats upset and arguing at the gate. Flight was delayed for one hour. Once we are on airplane, they are still shuffling seats around, so ppl cannot move forward. Just standing there for 10mins waiting for things to settle. Flight attendants did not give us a headphone. (I have a headphone for iPhone X so I could not connect it to their entertaiment system.)"

Pros: "I am used to flying Frontier because of cost but recently traveled Delta and boy did I feel completely spoiled! Not only did my other half get our bags for free due to his status with Delta but the amenities they offer and the comfort of the economy seats compared to other airlines is a major difference. As a chronic pain patient, if I can find a Delta flight for a little more, I will be booking with them for sure! Highly recommend them!"

I am having knee surgery soon and the walk from security to gate 34 LaGuardia would have put me over the top with pain! It was a very nice gentleman that gave me a ride to the gate and even stopped to let me use the bathroom. Thumbs up *****"
Cons: "The fact that I was charged $150 to check a small cosmetics bag is no loose change ! I would have carried it on but my hand is in a brace and I has to have extensive surgery. Then yoy get to the gate, and they repeatedly asked for volunteers to check their bags for free. I think this is a very unfair policy and try to explain it to the curbside attendant. I literally cannot carry more than five pounds in my left hand until I get bone replacement surgery. I'm also having knee surgery soon and this small additional weight would be caused me excruciating pain ! They didn't care and still charged me $150 for a bag thats no bigger than 12 inches and weighs less than ten pounds. Thats the way you treat your first class passengers? One other quick note: the sausage and egg sandwich? that was served for breakfast was absolutely horrible! Thumbs down !"

Brunette who wore all red~ like she had a personal conflict with us from the moment we walked on the plane. I was COMPLETELY APPALLED as to the way we were treated by her. It was a long flight to have someone you felt was bullying you the whole flight to the moment we were exiting the plane. It reclined a lot. The leg room was more than I needed and I am 6' tall. The individual TV monitor was great. Delta made a long flight quite bearable!"

My wife had to sit in one row I had to sit in another Delta did all this without contacting us. This was done to many of the passengers. The seats are getting as ridiculously narrow, I thought I was on Spirit Airlines! Now Delta is charging for bags! One reason I had stayed with Delta was although the ticket prices were higher the bags were free, now higher ticket prices and bag fees! Guess I will have to search for another air carrier. Delta is not loyal to me so I won't be loyal to Delta! Fuel is cheaper so they raise fees!"

Cons: "The gentleman sitting next to me never turned his phone in to airplane mode. His phone rang several times while the flight attendant was going through the safety procedures right in front of us. This was after the announcement came that all electronic devices where to go into airplane mode. The flight attendant did not do anything and seemed to ignore the phone that kept ringing. The gentleman was even talking on the phone while the flight attendant was going through the safety procedures. Later while landing an announcement came over that we were to return to our seats, close all tray tables, and seats ts in the upright position. At this point the gentleman sitting next to me leaned his seat backwards. The flight attendant passed by the gentleman at least three times and never said anything about his seat back. Evidently this flight attendant did not care to do his job properly."

The touchscreen didnt worl very well, they offed free headphones but my headphone jack was broke and all of the usb charger ports didnt work in my row there werent many new choices for entertainment. And the food was interesting I'll give it that."

Cons: "We arrived in Amsterdam at 9am, after traveling two hours to get there. We found out right away that there was a delay and chances of missing the connecting flight from Philadelphia to Orlando were great. We requested a different booking to insure travel to Orlando, which was denied. So the connecting flight was missed and after hours arrived in Orlando at midnight. Missed my ride and all car rentals were booked. All this caused a lot of anxiety and unnecessary stress. Very disappointing. And to add to it, the flight itself was horrible and there was no entertainment available for the entire flight."

Cons: "The flight was delayed more times than I can count, we got a different reason each time. Weather I can understand, but telling us we are waiting on a specific crew to arrive and then announcing that crew is not for our flight was just terrible communication. No one seemed apologetic. The only thing they did was bring a snack cart over for us, and that got raided by children so many people didn't get anything. We had arranged transport from Orlando to Tampa for that evening, and our rides had to cancel because instead of 7pm we were now arriving at 130am. Your airline's mistakes put everyone at an inconvenience and we weren't offered assistance to fix it. My husband went to ask for help in arranging new transport home, but he couldn't even get to the front of the line. The customer service was terrible. We really enjoyed our first leg of the flight home with American Airlines, but after the second leg and all of the problems we had... we will not fly with American Airlines in the future."

Cons: "Total incompetence. Navigational system broken, two hours on the tarmac, unboarded, then reboarded one at a time, then out to the tarmac and then back to the gate to do FAA paperwork before finally being over 4 hours late. And they don't really care. Very sad."

Pros: "Seemed to have more leg room than average. Generally fine. I got to my destination without incident, and that is the most important thing! But flying today is awful. Uncomfortable, unpleasant, stressful, etc., all so the airlines (and their CEOs) can make millions."
Cons: "Crew was "all business" -- not many smiles. They offered the usually .5 ounce of pretzels or two cookies. Passengers routinely asked "can I have both?" and the answer was routinely: no. Really? My $300+ ticket isn't worth pretzels AND two cookies? Seems silly. And, you know that have BOXES of these free snacks."

Cons: "It was a full flight, anyone in loading zones 7-9 were required to check their carry-on luggage. We were in loading zone 6, so not required and preferred not to due to our full day of air travel that would continue into a 3 hour car trip. My husband reached the gate, his ticket scanned, and let onto the plane. I walk up next, my ticket is scanned and then the personnel at the gate said in what I can only describe as the most disrespectful, inconsiderate, ill-tempered tone that he would need take my bag. He grabbed it out of my possession, shoved it into the luggage sizing rack and even though it did fit inside the lines, he said it was "too close" and would need to be checked. Not wanting to cause a scene and quite frankly speechless by this man's attitude, I did not object.. It was not until I was seated on the plane that I noticed more than a dozen items of luggage larger than mine and that the vast majority of people that had 3, 4, 5 carry on items when the maximum is 2: one personal item and one carry on luggage item. It was both the lack of respect and the lack of consistency that lead me to have an extremely "poor" boarding experience. Serious retraining needs to be completed and boarding attendants should not be able to harass airline passengers."

Cons: "LATAM took our luggage from a flight from a different airline that we used to get from Miami to Orlando. They locked it up and closed before we arrived. My friend was unable to get his medicine, I missed vital time from a work contract, and we had to spend the night at the airport waiting until 1pm today to receive our luggage. This is the worst experience I've had with an airline. No one spoken with on LATAM seemed to care. We were stranded without sleep and got no clear answer from the LATAM hotline. There was no mention of compensation for our troubles. I will not be recommending this airline to other travelers aa this has ruines my work schedule and my friend is unable to get his medicine."

Also, only peanuts and a small cup of soda was offered to us. Other airlines give cookies and biscotti! The seats don't recline and they need more legroom. The majority of the airline crew largely ignored us and showed mediocre customer service."

"My family of three were all sitting on separate seats. My husband and I were sitting in the middle seats between 2 large people that should had purchase 2 tickets instead of one to accommodate themselves. Spirit doesn’t care about accommodating family members! They only care about MONEY!!"

Cons: "Well my step brother Tony was charged $100 for carry on as he boarded. He wasn't charged going to Colombia for the same exact bags but coming back they charged as he boarded. I had a carry on, nobody stopped me and tried to charge me for it. I think he was profiled or randomly selected for a shake down of extra charges and I think its wrong and i might just quit using spirit if they don't return his money."

I feel that he flights should not have been full... how can u stay six feet from someone who u don’t know is covid free when u are sitting on top of each other... Orlando airport is the worst airport I’ve ever been to.. they only had a limited amount of restaurants to feed a overcrowded airport... spirit airlines is the worst airline of all and I will never fly with them again... they changed my direct flight from Baltimore to new Orleans to Baltimore to Orlando then to New Orleans with no warning.. that was was very unprofessional... I definitely do not recommend to fly spirit ever again... I will still use kayak in the future for travel"

Cons: "Everything seemed to go well until my daughter had to go to the bathroom, we were sitting in the front area but they blocked it cause the pilot was in the bathroom. Which was fine, but a few minutes past and still nothing the she said you can go to the back so i got up and she yelled maam “ you need to sit down” and then she proceeded to speak in Spanish as i didnt understand english. So I explained firmly that I u derstood her but she just told us to go the back and then to sit so which one is it."

Cons: "Awful experience. Early in the day I received several updates about my flight being delayed. No details on why, but much appreciated. Upon arriving to the airport the flight was still showing 59 mins delayed. Oddly, with all of the early communxaruin, it suddenly ceased! No communication for at least 2 hrs before the flight. Even as the 'would be' boarding window, the line formed with people asking questions... yet there were no answers or updates to the proposed time of departure. Even when the 59 min late departure came and went, there was NO communication. Folks were in an uproar! Finally, with no announcement, the gate attendant just started checking boarding passes and letting people go through the gate. Huh? I have zone 1, yet he said, we're just boarding everybody.... and, on the 3+ hr flight, only 1 bathroom worked. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!"

Pros: "Bad experience I was sitting in the last row and half way through the flight one of the toilets got clogged and started to overflow and smell up the area. There was a puddle of water running down towards the isle and the crew member was telling her colleagues to leave it alone and let it run so she can see how bad it gets for when we land. Extremely unsanitary and unexceptable to travel with that smell and conditions. Plus to top it all off towards the end the overhead bin got jammed and I had to wait for someone to pop in open, again its unfortunate I had to go through this. Never again, I would not recommend spirit sorry."

Pros: "Crew was nice. However the spirit airline attendant at the desk told me to gate check my bag. I stood there waiting for someone to grab my bag for sometime. So I asked the stewardess and she told me just to bring the bag in and put my carry on in the over head compartment."

I waited at the airport for until 1:30am before I got a confirmation that the back was in fact at Newark still. I had a nursing convention to go to and I had no clothing. So I had to Uber to Walmart than Uber back to my hotel. So I didn’t get any sleep. I didn’t check into my hotel til 4am due to a negligent spirit employee. I paid for the checked bag and there was plenty of space in the over head compartment. She caused me unnecessary stress and an embarrassing morning with my administrators due to my lack of sleep."

Pros: "Crew were polite, but one did not take her time to look at every passenger when picking up the last trash. She walked by us very quickly without looking at all. When I asked if I could give her our trash when she was on her way back to her seat, she said, “we’re all done now, sorry” and she kept walking. The pilots did a wonderful job during take off, during our flight and landing! We’re all blessed for such a safe flight."
Cons: "Zone 4 appears to be the largest zone to board the plane and did in fact take the longest. I think the zones could be broken up better and should be so that apart from the benefit of boarding early, the rest of the paying passengers don’t have to wait for long periods of time to board, our satisfaction should matter too. Also, my 5 year old was super sad and disappointed that the flight did not serve snacks (even though we ate while waiting at the gate for our flight to arrive). He looks forward to the snacks that many airlines serve aboard. Just thought I’d mention that."

Pros: "Certain staff were friendly and helpful"
Cons: "This was my first flight with Dpirit Airlines and I was greatly dissatisfied. Here's why: 1. Not easy to pay for baggage online; complicated and time consuming. 2. Not clear when I purchased ticket that I would need to pay for carry on as well as checked, this felt sneaky and dishonest. Be open about charges. 3. Was not given a a boarding pass for second portion of my flight. 4. Seats don't lean back so was not able to rest very well. 5. Bright floresecent lights inside plane unpleasant and also made it difficult to rest. 6. Certain staff were short and unfriendly."

Pros: "On my way to Bradley(Hartford) the flight wasn’t full, there were empty seats!! I sat in the first row behind the cockpit, the seats were extremely comfortable, wide, and a lot of legroom. My return trip to Orlando I sat behind the spacious seats in a row of three, in the middle seat, a little cramped. There was an empty row behind us, an elderly lady took the window seat, I asked if I could take the aisle seat, the stewardess said no because of a weight balance, another woman was allowed to take the seat!! I still like the airline, and would fly it again."

Pros: "Seats were nice and stewardist."
Cons: "Was running late because roads were almost to point of non drivable. Zero visibility. The spirit machine would not print my boarding pass. It said see an attendant for assistance. I checked in day before flight. The man at first would not help me print my pass. I couldn't pull my pass up on smart phone but I had the receipt and confirmation. Finally he helped and printed my boarding pass. People shouldn't be treated like this. I pay my taxes and I don't have to choose spirit. I can fly through another airliner. The fact that he was giving me a hard time on Christmas was even worse. If I acted that way at my job I'd be fired. Thank you for sending me your survey and have a great day and a happy new year."

Pros: "Didn't die."
Cons: "A passenger vomited prior to take off. She went to the restroom then was taken back to her seat, where she got sick again. The Purser/Senior Atttendant did not handle well in my opinion, by allowing the clearly ill elderly woman who was disoriented and confused back to her seat and in her "freaking out" reaction (her words). After the woman vomited the second time, they had her sit in a different seat up front, spreading the possible pathogens and uncleanliness to more rows. The woman vomited a 3rd time in this new seat. The woman was FINALLY removed from the plane and her former dear mates were moved to the row up front where the woman was sick for the 3rd time. (The crew who came on to clean the "biohazard" used a dirty mop and did not appear to use any bleach solution. The Senior flight attendant said they were going to seal off the bathroom (good idea) bc the elderly woman, according to the Spirit attendants, made a big mess and it was a "biohazard". Cut to later in the flight after a 2 hour delay and then the sick woman- where Spirit attendants allowed many passengers to use this restroom -bar potentially exposing them to pathogens. The Purser was self-confessed overly dramatic about the entire situation. I can't imagine how she would have behaved in an escalated emergency situation."

Pros: "Flight crew was amazing! Quick, courteous, responsive."
Cons: "TSA precheck. My reservation indicated it was entered, but it didn't print on the ticket. When I brought this to the attention of Spirit CSRs, The answer was "Yeah, sometimes it does that." Unacceptable. TSA precheck is a convenience for passengers and, more importantly, an added level of security for TSA personnel. Prechecked passengers have already been background screened. These passengers are known safe entities in an uncertain security environment. Each person prechecked is one less security threat TSA needs to assess, meaning TSA can focus more effort on potential threats. Denying a precheck customer precheck status makes everyone's life more difficult. Fix your system, then train employees on how to appropriately deal with these issues."

Pros: "the buzz ball on the flight was the only good thing about the whole experience"
Cons: "completely destroyed all of my luggage by somehow breaking the hot sauce in my bag that was so carefully packaged that a 400 pound man must have been jumping up and down on top of for them to break it the way that they did. also i had to correct a tag on my bag that they put on that would of sent it to a completely different town. not that any of my clothes are salvageable now anyways. but the complete lack of remorse and or apology for such an obvious mistake is appalling. the whole airline should be ashamed of the employees i encountered on this trip."

Cons: "Although weather conditions were not Spirit's doing, on the return flight we had to wait in the tarmac for 3 hours to unload and 2 hours to retrieve baggage, we had a very rude crew member that eventually had a passenger return his rudeness with the same. After 2 hours of waiting was when Spirit decided to offer us 3 oz of water and a tiny package of cookie. Thank God for no medical emergency, but they didn't come out and offer actual bottles of water and/or a real snack. Terrible consideration toward the passengers."

Cons: "Flight was 2 1/2 hours late. Big front seats only barely bigger than regular seats. Flight attendants were more like salesmen - pushing the spirit credit card. Flight attendant very brisk as I initially sat down. I wanted to get something from my bag before stowing it in the Compartment above me. She literally took it out of my hands and said I couldn't have the bag out. The plane was still boarding, I was standing in front of my seat, not in the aisle, so passengers could continue to pass by. Very rude."

Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Spirit airlines is the worst airlines by showing cheap ticket prices, but then charges you for getting a seat and carry-on bags. Their customer service is just as bad. Had a medical emergency and a family member had to be taken to the emergency room on the departure day and although the ticket was unrefundable they gave me a stinken $60 credit that has to be booked in the next month. Unlike the other airlines I was flying back on that gave me a FULL credit of the unrefundable ticket price to be used within the next year! Kudos to American Airlines!!"

Cons: "Check-in at reservations section was terrible...there were 2 lines of passengers checking in and 1 line had 3 agents checking passengers in and the other line had 1 agent checking passengers in. We were second in line...in the wrong line with only 1 agent checking passengers in...we waited 20 minutes to get helped, because the party in front of us (with 2 in line) actually had a ticket for 6 passengers (4 of whom showed up several minutes later), who had to decide/pay for luggage options ,etc.. If you have 2 lines & 4 agents, 2 agents should be serving each line...enough for me never to fly Spirit again!"

Pros: "We got to the destination safely."
Cons: "Reason's why I rated each category poor: Overall - see below categories Boarding - We were told that our bags did not count as personal items, and we had to either pay $130 to carry on two bags or throw them away. Basically, "Have a nice trip, let me start by robbing you." Crew - During the flight, I used the on-flight lavatory. As is normal in most flights, there's no space between the last row of passengers and the mini-room at the back of the plane. To keep from putting my rear in another passenger's face, I stepped into the mini-room until the stewardess commanded that I wait behind the "silver line." Sorry other passenger. At the least be courteous about your command with me and/or the passenger who had to sit in the rear (pun intended). Comfort - No seat back storage, and the flight was as cold as is bearable for the average person. Food & Entertainment - None available. Upon asking for water, we were instead offered ice."

Cons: "I don't like when you just arrived at the airport and everybody is standing up in the plane it should be in for sized to stay seated and exit the plane just as you enter the plane first row second row third throw I think the stewardesses should announce this and make it clear and not do one big jungle everybody trying to get off the plane at the same time also was taking your carry-on off the overhead it should be emphasized that where you see that this is your place above and not people from the front sticking their extra luggage over your seat"

Pros: "Staff and crew were polite, friendly and competent in spite of a significant overbooking situation to solve (unless this is typical Spirit and they're just used to it)"
Cons: "We chose not to "purchase" seats so as to keep the flight price low. What I did not realize in that is how close we came to almost not having a seat. About an hour before the flight came the inevitable "we are overbooked and will compensate for anyone who wants to take a different flight". Shortly afterward came the announcement that the plane they were expecting was significantly smaller than anticipated and the last 30 people to check in who did not purchase a seat would be bumped - too bad so sad. Fortunately for us we had checked in right at the 24 hour mark and were not part of that group of 30. Bag fees are quite high and size limitations are much more stringent - we needed to use different suitcases so as to not exceed their maximums."

Cons: "A passenger who had a Trump pin on told the agent he didn't want to sit by any Women's March participants. He was told to board last to select the empty seat he wanted. I made a comment to him that I found his attitude divisive. Upon boarding, he asked for the head flight attendant and reported that he was being harassed. She came to my seat and threatened to make me get off--the person next to me spoke up and said that he had made ugly remarks to her when she asked him to please stop speaking so loudly on his cell phone out in the gate area and threatened to have her arrested. I felt that the crew allowed him to discriminate--would this have happened if we had been people of color he didn't want to sit by? Had he been assigned the seat next to me, I wouldn't have said anything to him--that's not the American way at least for me."

Pros: "Used Kayak to find cheap flights that fit our time frame. Spirit airlines proved to be a quick and reliable airline getting us to Chicago 15 mins early. When departing Chicago email notifications kept us up to date on possible delays of flight caused by weather conditions. I called Spirit customer service representative and changed my flight to avoid the worst of the weather. They were able to make the changes and honor the seating arrangements I had made for my family of five. Great experience!!"

Cons: "Customer service was terrible before both of my flights. Both times I was not assigned a seat and had to go to the counter to get it. When I got to the counter no one had boarded the plane. By the time everyone had borded the plane I was still in the line. I had already told the representative that I needed a seat. I was getting anxious because I did nnot want to lose my flight and attempted to talk to both reps to see what was going on. One told me I had to wait for the other rep, without even looking at my face. The other ignored me many times until he heard me complain to another customer."

Cons: "When we checked online to see if the flight was on time, it stated that it was delayed over 2 hours. We still had our daughter to the airport within 15 minutes of the originally scheduled flight. When she got to the terminal she was told that the flight left early, there were no more flights, and she was charged $99 to rebook for the next morning. The attendant was also rude to her, once she was able to get her off her (personal) phone. I believe they should have actually apologized for the inconvenience instead of charging her. This airline is the WORST."

Pros: "The basics were what I expected: The crew was fine, the service was speedy, and I only felt a few things to be noticeably lacking."
Cons: "I had only chosen spirit because it was around 50 dollars cheaper than the alternative, and spent nearly two hours getting to BWI. When I arrived at the security gate with my phone boarding pass, they made me go back to print my boarding pass. Phone boarding passes were never an issue with my typical airline, and I was told they only accept them from some airlines. Once I got onto the plane, I realized that there was also no in-flight entertainment. Fortunately, I had packed some books. It was also only after purchasing my flight that I realized my carry-on cost me as much as the discount I had gone so far to get. Since I so rarely travel without a carry-on, I doubt I'll be able to use Spirit in the future. Unfortunately not knowing or being prepared for Spirit's system meant I cut more corners than I was prepared to."

Pros: "Nothing at all."
Cons: "I usually fly with JetBlue but decided to try to save a few bucks on this last minute trip. What a mistake!! Their luggage fees are extremely high. Everyone at the terminal were complaining about their fees. For what I paid to check in my bags, I could of gotten a flight to the airport that I originally wanted to fly into and still save money. It is so sad when even the Spirit Airline employees say that " That's how they get you...with the baggage fees." They give you a great deal on the flight but snatch your money with their baggage fees. NEVER AGAIN!!"

Pros: "Good people working, all seemed nice. Even if some of the experience is less than spectacle, you know what to expect on spirit."
Cons: "Boarding: can't check in online early, if you are going to assign seats then why use zones, either board from the back of the plane by row or go by zones, but it's silly to have a seat number and still deal with zones. Can't pick a seat without paying, that's just silly. Block off the seats that need to have an upcharge and then let people pick seats if they want, it just keeps people happier and costs you nothing. Other: you should not ask about food or entertainment since the food on the plane costs money and most people don't purchase it, especially on short trips like this one. And there is no entertainment available, so asking me to rate it is pointless (plus if there was entertainment, I'm sure that would just be another purchase item). Seats: are mediocre at best"

Cons: "All in all, we were delayed about 45 minutes, but it's how it happened that was so frustrating: There was an inexplicable pause in boarding, which was obviously a delay that was never communicated on the airport terminal displays. Then after we boarded, we were informed that the bathrooms weren't working and anyone who needed to go would need to get off and then we could leave when they were back - another delay. Then we were told the bathrooms would work we took off, so some people went back to their seats. Then the story changed and the bathrooms were not going to work and be locked for the whole flight, so a bunch of people had to get back up to deboard the plane. Keep in mind, this was a late evening flight to Orlando, so plenty of tired kids with small bladders aboard."

Pros: "The price is right for the base fare, but Spirit gets you with all the extra fees. Baggage cost is very high, and higher at the airport if you don't 'pre-purchase' bags to check online. The weight allowance for checked bags is only 40 pounds with massive fees for heavier bags, and they charge for carry on, too. Checking just one 30 pound bag doubled my total cost of flying, and it would have been more if I hadn't pre-purchased. They even charge for water on the plane, which I find really bad. Maybe it's just me, coming from Australia where you're legally required to provide free water, but this rubs me up the wrong way. They also charge if you need agent assistance to check in at the airport. The staff were all very polite and friendly, and the overall experience was fine, but the extra fees do NOT make it worth it. It makes the guests feel unwelcome and each extra step and extra charge makes the whole experience more stressful and complicated. You could pay a slightly higher base fare with United, for example, but probably save money with more generous baggage/check-in procedures, and have a worry-free experience, too. The staff were great; it's the company policies I have a problem with."
Cons: "Ridiculous fees and charges for every aspect of the flight. Not a fan. Probably won't fly with Spirit again."

Pros: "The seats were comfortable"
Cons: "My sister and I and another passenger (not with us) came to the gate at 10:00am and our flight was at 10:15am. When we walked up there was a woman and a stroller just going through the gate doors but when we got to them the attendant said that we were too late and missed the plane. She said we needed to be there 10-15 minutes before departure time. The other woman showed her a phone with the time on it and said it's only 10:00am now and there was no page with names or last calls. And a woman just went through. The woman told us it didn't matter, they couldn't take us and sent us back downstairs to get a new ticket. My sister and I were at the coffee shop about 100 yards from the gate and if we would have heard our names being called or a last call for the plane, we wouldn't have gotten coffee! We had to go back downstairs to get another ticket, the plane they put us on was boarding right then and they told us they would have someone walk us through TSA but after we finished with the tickets they told us to go up and someone would meet us there...no one did. Thankfully the TSA guy remembered us and let us through the front of the line. When we got to our gate the woman there reminded people that if they were going to the bathroom or getting anything to make sure they were back 10-15 minutes before the plane was scheduled to depart. That flight was delayed 20 minutes anyways. I will never, ever, use Spirit again."

Cons: "Our flight was delayed 3 hours for mechanical issues. The staff at the gate was the unprofessional...rude, sarcastic and just plain miserable. I even witnessed a shouting match between the gate crew and a customer who walked up to ask what the new time for take off was...She answered his question by stating, "the same time I said 5 minutes ago." The male passenger didn't hear the announcement (because she talked so fast). He kept asking and she kept repeating her snarky response about "the time time I just told you" until it became heated. Absolutely ridiculous. Not much improved when we made it on the aircraft. It felt like it was a shell of what a "finished" aircraft should look like. All in all a pitiful experience. I hate that I already purchased my return flight with Spirit. Saving $50 was NOT WORTH IT!!!!!"

Cons: "They would not let us on the plane despite being there 25 min before the flight left. They said we had to check-in online, which we tried twice to do, but it wouldn't let me because a balance for our baggage and seats did not go through. Interestingly, when I entered the credit card info it never once told me the credit card was invalid or that any issue had occurred. When I called the number it gave when it wouldn't let me check in I got an automated system that had no option for "speak to a representative" or "check-in." The ticketing counter told me they literally can't print a ticket after 45 min until flight and Latrobe's single gate TSA checkpoint "closed" at 6:30 for this 7 flight. Meanwhile, I watched "security" walk behind the counter when we got there. Spirit refused to refun is the money for the flight. We will never fly Spirit or out of Latrobe PA EVER AGAIN."

Pros: "The flight attendants were very friendly and the pilot did a great job. There were bad storms in Orlando but you wouldn't know it with the flight. All Spirit flights I have taken have had good pilots and friendly flight attendants."
Cons: "When I arrived at Chicago-O'Hare to check in, there was a line around the block for only Spirit Airlines. They had 2 people working at the kiosks and both were slower than molasses. There were several employees that walked up to the kiosks but none of them assisted customers. They had no urgency at all. On top of that, the lady that I interacted with was very rude. She talked to me like I was a complete moron and apologized that another Spirit team in Orlando "didn't do their job properly but O'Hare employees follow the rules". Overall, not impressed at all and I will avoid booking with Spirit on future flights."

Cons: "Them charging $100 at the gate for a carry on. My carry-on was a normal size bag which I have taken on MANY flights with different airline and have NEVER had any issue. When I checked in they did not say anything. At the security the attendant marked something on my boarding pass but did NOT advise me that my bag was big by their standard. When boarding the plane they saw my boarding pass and asked for $100. It was then they informed me that when I checked in they should have charged me $55 which is their rate. But at the gate it is $100. Since I was at the gate I had no choice but to pay the $100. $55 for carry-on bag that all other airline has not issue with is ridiculous. Having to pay $100 for a CARRY on bag is absurd. This was my first and last time with Spirit airlines. Nor will I ever recommend Spirit airline to anyone."

Pros: "liked the cost. flight was good plane was clean but could have been a bit cleaner (windows) seats we good (could have been a little softer) I noticed that some of the flight crew were not as focused on their attention to the passengers. I did notice that the stewardess in our area (who sat right in front of me (exit seat )) was on her cell phone texting or playing a game or what ever young people do on their phones. as a travelling public person, my comfort level or expectation is that all the time I am on board, that the crew is on duty and focused on their duties, which should include, not being distracted by using personal electronic devises at anytime. Secondly, the uniforms that the attendants wore seemed to be a little less cared for or clean as other airlines. Lastly, (this may be picky,) but it seemed that the hair of a few of the attendants seemed unkempt at a level in keeping with the beautiful airplane we were in. There was a steward that came on the plane who looked light his shirt was too big (collar was too big for his neck) as was the size of his coat. As a business owner myself, I appreciate the small things, as these can be the things that overshadows all of the other things we do to provide a good product, service or experience for our customers. Personal inner Professionalism is a mindset that transcends and fuels ongoing service, at levels which a rule book alone cannot attain. (employees who are proud of where they work, who they work with and for, end up delivering on our promises as owners.) I like your web site and appreciate the "fun" you have built into it. I understand the message it sends, but as we know, most people expect the lower fares from Spirit, but don't get the steps you must take to be able to provide those fairs and still cover ALL THE BILLS. Pros: "I booked my 80 year old parents their flights through Kayak. It ended up being through priceline."
Cons: "My parents arrived at the airport and spirit said they didn't have authorization. that the confirmation wasn't accurate. I paid, and they had a confirmation number. but the amount of time it took to sort it out - made them miss their flight. they then had to drive 2 hours home. then get up at 2am the next day to take a different flight. arriving 1 day late and cutting their vacation short. because they didn't pick up their rental car the day they were supposed to they got an additional charge for that as well. HORRIBLE experience. I would like to know who I can talk to for customer compensation."

Pros: "The fight was good."
Cons: "When we called about taking a small bag which was very small, I was told that my purse Had to go into my small carry on. Or I had to pay. When I called the airlines at first the cost was 40.00 and later on in the evening it was $90.00 . Plus it was someone we couldn't understand. We ask ti be transferded to some one in America., but was told lines were busy. So I just took my wallet . I was only gone over the week end . I was very disappointed in all the charges.i would think a small purse would be ok."

Pros: "If you're interested in a quick flight- UNDER $300 almost ANYWHERE**, THIS is the airlines to fly.. It's simple, fast, and got to my destination with little to no hiccups*"
Cons: "Wow, the comments below are all similar.. Look, Prices should be announced as: (ex) Atl to Orlando $160+baggage.. <--- I've heard SO MANY complaints from passengers about baggage fees.. Look, If it's one of the only ways to get extra income, then a simple carryon fee for $25 should be attached accross the board* Even IF someone didn't have a carry on, the $25 should still be within the ticket- THAT WAY, you won't have disgruntled customers having to cough up an extra $50-100+ at the check-in.. AFTER they probably spent too much on their travel.. (Not saying only poor people take Spirit, but there IS a reason people fly with them.. Because it's supposed to be economical*"

Pros: "The flight I ended up taking was quick and actually left on time"
Cons: "I had a 6 am flight. At 5 am we were told that it would be delayed until 10:30. At 8 we were told it would be delayed until 11:30. At 11:20 they announce that our plane landed and just needed to unload and get cleaned and we could start boarding shortly. Two minutes claret we were told the flight was cancelled. They told us everyone would fit on the 3:49 flight that would arrive in Orlando at 4:10. By that time I was tired of waiting and just wanted to get to Orlando so I asked to get on the flight to Tampa that was leaving at 12:15. The airline wouldn't get me a flight that was with delta that would have leaf at 6:55. They only offered a seat on one of their later flights, a refund, or a $7 meal voucher. That meal voucher wasn't even enough to cover the cost of a bagel and coffee. Also when I purchased the ticket it didn't say anything about paying for a carry-on bag. When I got to the airport I found out I had to pay $55 to take my carry-on. This was my worst flight experience."
