I understand there are some issues sometimes, but I noticed attitude from three of the flight attendants during the flight. There were three teens in the back that kept rambling about how all planes have bombs, everyone there was turbulence we could go into a spiral, the plane engines could blow up, etc. It was clearly making passengers uncomfortable because they kept turning around and one lady even yelled at them. I'm honestly shocked the flight crew never said anything to them. I wasn't too worried, except that they ruined any chance to get some rest."

This does not seem very considerate of our health during a Pandemic especially with their messaging about social distancing. They also did a very poor job of keeping people patient in the deplaning process. They should have better messaging and a very non threatening way of encouraging passengers to be patient and courteous. Maybe they good offer each passenger a choice some type of goodie like a mint or a chocolate that says "please enjoy this while you wait for others to exit the plane"."

The boarding process required me to walk past everyone as my chair was in the back and I was last group to board (unlike other airlines that have switched to back to front boarding to reduce people coming in contact with each other) As I walked down the PACKED plane mot people had masks on incorrectly (hanging off one ear, down around their chin, nose out, etc.) some people had no mask at all and the flight attendants did nothing. It seems like they were doing nothing to keep passengers safe from COVID-19 spread. Compared to Delta, American Airlines was terrifying to fly, I find not feel safe at all."

Cons: "On the first leg of my journey, there was a card explaining how to get inflight entertainment using the aainflight.com which worked great. However the Phoenix to Eugene leg used Boingospot but there was no card in the seat pocket explaining what needed to be put in your browser to access the entertainment portal. There were only two flight attendants on the flight and, aside from the drink service, no one ever came to the back of the plane so I could ask the question. I could have used the call button but I think that should be saved for emergencies. I think the information on how to access the inflight entertainment should be in every seat pocket"
Cons: "I always have preferred American Airlines but they seem to have constant problems with the aircraft these days. This causes delays and missed connections. This in turn causes no breakfast or lunch or dinner opportunities. I travel with snacks in my bag at all times now just in case so I won’t get sick for lack of nourishment or water! This last flight I missed my connection altogether and had to take a shuttle home, then catch a ride back to the airport to pick up my luggage and then get my car to drive home. It was 4 hours past my expected time home."
Pros: "The trip started off poorly with a day delay and rebooking hotel and car at final destination. Not to mention our final destination is San Antonio not Phoenix. We were not rebooked for a flight from PHX to SAT. But after a few hours we were finally booked. We didn’t really appreciate the 7 hour layover at 0100 in the morning and nowhere to get a meal or even coffee. However, the flight had the same crew from the night prior and they were excellent. The flight was open so we were able to get more leg room, less waiting time for the bathroom, and pretty much one on one service from our flight attendants. With all the struggle in the beginning, this particular flight was actually the best flight I have been on."
Cons: "We were ok with the hotel and meal vouchers however, again, the only part of our itinerary looked at was the first flight, not the second into SAT. Had we not questioned the agent, we would have been stuck in PHX with no room, no car, and if we eventually would have gotten a flight, our reservations for car and hotel in SAT would have been cancelled and I would have been out $1700. I already lost money but it could have been worse. Basically, I am paying for a car and room that I am not currently in. Reimbursement for that would have been nice. Either way we will still travel using the travel service and this particular airline in the future."
Pros: "Not much crew stayed in back almost the whole 6 1/2 hr flight and seemed not to friendly"
Cons: "It would have been better if they had departed when they said they were going to after a delay. Flight was delayed first 1 hr then two more hours. The airline finally posted that it would depart a 4 PM and we didn't even start boarding until 5PM. Then they tried to rush us on so that everyone was standing on the HOT jetway for 10 min waiting to get on the plane. Plane didn't take off til 5:35 PM. Over all on this trip I had three flights that were delayed. I'll think twice before taking American Air again."

As we were boarding the plane from Austin to Phoenix, we got a notification that our layover had been delayed an additional 5 hours due to construction at SFO. I’d have appreciated more of a heads up than as I’m boarding."

Cons: "Due to a computer malfunction we were stuck on the tarmac for some time, when it was decided to find a new gate to return to. /The tech crew eventually gave the all clear and upon returning to the tarmac, the same computer malfunction occurred, and again we had to return to the gate. This was all totaled 2.5 hours on the Tarmac. Finally, some 5 hours late we departed Miami in a different plane. Upon arrival in Phoenix, the captain wearily announced that there was no ground crew awaiting us, so we had to wait some time on the tarmac there to disembark. Never before had I heard a airline captain encourage the passengers to write a letter of complaint to his employer."

Cons: "I arrived at the airport and had already checked in and had m boarding passes. For some reason they could not find me when I went to check my bag. After 30 minutes they saw that my seat assignment had been changed and that is why my boarding passes that I had printed at home did not match what their computer showed. I booked this reservation in May and had a seat chosen fairly toward the front. I am 73 years old and the closer to the front I can be helps. When I finally got on the plane to my surprise my seat was the very last seat on the plane across from the restroom. People continued to leave the door open after using the restroom so had to get up and continue to close the door or look at the restroom the whole flight. There was never any explanation as to why they did this. As a result, being lst off the plane, I almost missed my connection as I had to go two terminals over for my connection. At my age I cannot run so I arrived as the last people were getting on the plane. I will never fly American Airlines again."

Cons: "I didn’t like the male and female check in people in Portland. They sat there and watched me for an hour not telling me I could not use cash to check in my luggage at the gate after they told me it was double the amount to check it in at the gate. The sight u use on the boarding pass u download on the phone is not clear. It says baggage fee +$25.00. I thought it was 25.00 till the women in Phoenix showed me the + sign. She said “it is confusing”. I did not buy the ticket because it was for an unexpected funeral of my sister. My other sister did so I didn’t see all the stuff from Travelocity. After telling me it would be $50.00 the check in male and female at the gate saw me sitting there for an hour and never told me I couldn’t pay cash. By the time it was boarding time if a nice woman did not offer to use her credit card and I have her the $50 cash I would have missed my flight. The manager at the gate in Portland even told me I would miss my flight. The two check in staff at the gate said “well we didn’t know you only had cash” and they weren’t even concerned that I was going to miss my flight. It would of been nice of them to tell me this when I sat there for an hour after they told me They we’re doubling the price. I would of had time to go back through security, only pay $25.00 and the other nice passenger would have not had to use her credit card. Very rude and poor service especially after a sad occasion of burying your sister!"

Cons: "10 minutes after leaving Austin the pilot tellsnus Houston air traffic control is grounding all westbound flights due to a storm in Dallas that's causing too much congestion. So we sa on the Tarmac for 90 minutes. I have a difficult time believing this situation was a surprise. Possibly it was just to free up the gate and not have to go through reboarding. Also leg room is getting reduced to 28 inches. I'm 5"11 and cramped. How is JetBlue better than American? How much will these airlines continue to bend us over. I didn't even take the screaming infant into account.... since it's not AA's fault for letting that baby on board."

Cons: "There is not enough space to list everything. I paid $800 for a normally $300 flight, then paid an extra $75 for the ability to board early so I could store my very small roller carry-on. The in-bound flight was 2 hours late and even though I could track that easily, and assumed our flight would also be two hours late, the AA website insisted the outbound flight would be on time. So like everyone else, I went to the airport. And it wasn't until just before the original departure time that the update was indicated. Really?? If I knew the flight was going to be two hours late,that means AA knew, and didn't care enough about their passengers to advise them. Then when we boarded, my bag was taken away for gate check because the flight did not allow roller bags. After I paid extra. How can AA not advise you when you book your flight that roller bags would not be allowed?? Talk about a money-grab. I unfortunately have a return ticket and am not wealthy enough to throw it away and book on another airline, but I would if I could. I will never fly AA again and I will share my story far and wide."

Cons: "Tight connection from our previous flight yet the counter folks were rude and rushed us. My daughter is obviously 7 months pregnant. Because our connecting flight left milwaukee over an hour late, we had no time to even grab a sandwich, no problem we will buy food on the plane. Wrong! The food is was gone so quickly that by the time they got to us, they were out of everything. Oh did I mention we also had 3 children ages 2, 7, and 9. Oh yes and the entertainment? Small screens mounted on the ceiling of the plane. How about updating your equipment?? Plane was old. No USB to charge your phone and stream from their App. Terrible. We own a 2nd home in Maui and travel there twice per year. Looking at other options."

Per the supervisor over head bin size does not change yet my bag was "too big" like I said I had flown literally 4 days before this trip and had no problems with my bag fitting nor did any of the flight attendants say anything. I am just annoyed. Also I didn't know that I would fly American as it's through Alaska originally, maybe that was my lack of attention to detail. The carry on situation is what irritated me the most. This is also not the first time that I've had a problem with American Air."

AA attendant at gate at CLT was extremely rude and unprofessional when I accuse Left my boarding passes in seat pocket. Would not summon someone to retrieve it. Made me wait until entire plane was disembarked and cleaned, and made me wait some more after. She was super snarky, made rude comments, and almost made my family miss our connection to EWN. I will never, ever, fly AA again. Worst customer service and tons of issues with maintenance, luggage handling, and delays."

Cons: "3 of the 4 flights were late, and the 4th was canceled. The canceled flight was due to weather, but AA's response was to connect those of us stranded with a 3rd party vendor - Travelliance - with the promise of a SUBSTANTIAL discount for a hotel (SINCE THE NEXT FLIGHT I WAS GIVEN WAS 17 HOURS LATER!) - and there was, effectively, NO DISCOUNT. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with you over the years, but this was a bucker of water in the face. I'm sure I'll fly with you again, but any sort of good will I held for AA is gone."
Cons: "Delay, first told it was weather related, then mechanical. Re booked on a flight by AA that would never make connection. Paid over $1,000 for a flight leg that one way and direct on another airline (Alaska air) was $281.00 and the agent took so long to find redirect flight that they couldn't book. Total mess! While struck on the second leg and speaking with AA customer service about the reschedule I was told that they didn't have the ability to rectify the error because they no longer had control of my ticket and that I had to take into consideration that three was an event in San Antonio that caused delays network wide that added tio the initial issue... HOGWASH! 1) it was another AA issue where an AA aircraft drive of the runway while I was in flight on the first errant leg. 2) if they had just been straight from the outset, I wouldn't have been delayed. I will never fly AA AGAIN!"

Cons: "The personnel handling the front desk at check in gave myself and others bad information about how to check a bag. Which resulted in me being called to the desk at the gate about 30 minutes prior to boarding and being told I screwed up checking my bag when I was just following the instructions given to me. Was then told I had to leave the secure area of the airport, go back to the front to check my bag all within 30 minutes of boarding. when I returned thru the TSA checkpoint they were rude, obviously, but more importantly the flight was boarding early. So you could've 1. told me what the actual procedure is for checking my bag instead of telling me "just leave it by the green lit up check mark then 2. told me at the gate that not only do i need to go fix your mistakes for you but that youd also board my flight early thereby putting me in jeopardy of missing my flight. all i got was a very insincere apology when I complained up front and at the gate about the airline's screw up. i get that you're all human like me and make mistakes but the customer is always right. there was a time in this country when customer appreciation and service were important standards and qualities businesses thrived on. Don't know what happened to those days... Also i should not need to be a first class passenger to get a meal during a flight. whatever happened to meals for everyone? you (all airlines in the US) charge way too much money and provide poor service compared to pre-9-11 days. I dont see how one event can justify the loss in service but the increase in ticket price. you should all get back to what flying should be about: fun and time saving."

Pros: "It was a flight, it got me from point A to point B, but everything in between could've been much better."
Cons: "When first boarding the plane, the person I was with tried to close the shade on the window, the with frame and the first 2 pieces of glass popped out. We notified the flight attendant and his response was "can you stick your arm out the window and wave? No... ok you're fine" then we were notified the bathrooms in the middle of the plane were out of order and we could only use the bathrooms at the rear of the plane. There was no WiFi, and the audio system for the on board movies wasn't working. The flight attendants were only giving out cups of beverages and not the full can, which isnt a big deal but still looks bad on the airline considering everywhere flight with American has handed out full cans of soda. The perception was American dropped the ball on the his plane, and just didn't care to do the necessary maintenance. For the his head priced paid for the his hehe see tickets I would've expected better from a reputable airline. Needless to say we were a little disappointed."

Cons: "I called American Airlines as ssoon as I book my trip to set up and make sure my small dog could fly with me. They neglected to inform me their partner, jetstar, does not fly animals. My luggage did not arrive with me. Both of my suitcases were mangled and broken. Items in my suitcases were shattered and crushed even though they were well packed and protected. We got stuck on the terminal in MSP and missed our connecting flight. When we finally arrived the systems were down and could not get new flights or hotels. We were told we could not get hotels and had to argue for an hour. Even though it was a maintenance issue. I arrived a day late and had to take extra leave. The plane from LAX to Tokyo was horrific. I booked a window seat, was stuck in the very middle. There was no way to charge outlets devices. The screen did not work. And my new luggage was also damaged with even more items destroyed."

Cons: "Holy moly. You know if you stopped charging extra money for checked baggage you wouldn't have a ridiculously annoying amount of customers with too many bags for overhead storage. Then you wouldn't have to threaten your customers to store their small bags under the seat. Then I would have room for my feet under the seat. When I would have been comfortable. I also wouldn't have to annoy my neighbor with trying to move and get comfortable. But instead the exact opposite happened and I'm offended you guys have America anywhere near your name."

Cons: "Had to sit on the tarmac for 35 minutes because our flight was “randomly” selected to wait because there was too much air traffic over Houston. Result: I missed my connection to my final destination. The airline promised that the other flights were alerted of the delay and that people would be there to assist. May departure gate was literally two gates away from my arrival gate in Houston. No one was there to help. No exceptions were made to get me on the flight, even as it was delayed at the gate for 15 minutes, meaning that they could have gotten me aboard. The whole experience made me very angry. After all this, I had to wait an additional two hours for the next flight."

Cons: "My email is not linked to my phone, so I got no warning notices of two gate changes waiting for my connecting flight home. I waited at the original gate (C39) from arrival time (2:30 pm) til boarding time (5:40 pm). When I saw no change to my destination, I checked the United App to find that the gate had been changed C33). Rushing to C33 I found another flight boarding at that location with one United Representative who could not stop to answer questions. Seeing two unoccupied Representatives at the next gate (C32), I asked if they could help me with the confusion, they said I should check with gate C33 - which I told them that she was too busy with other passengers. I searched for a Departure Board and discovered that gate C33 was still the gate, but "aircraft maintenance" had delayed the flight until after 8:20. After having to check my carry-on because of lack of space in the overheads, my departure from the airport was further delayed another 30 minutes. Upon returning home and checking my email, I found notifications of two different gate changes (C33 & C44). Announcements should have been made at both gate C39 about the changing of the gate and at C33 explaining the problem. The captain's lame excuse about air conditioning and Phoenix's hot weather was lame to say the least."
Pros: "I was happy to finally receive a drink one the flight started. A waterbottle at the seat and not other service would have been nice. Wifi was not working. The seats were small and cramped. My seat did not stay either up or down...it kept moving around and would not stay adjusted. However the crew was fantastic and our two female pilots were amazing. Captain Amy touched down in Phoenix was one of the smoothest I have ever experienced."

Cons: "On checking in we had to use a machine to print our boarding passes and take our bags to a bag drop in Newark. The man proceeded to put a large tray on the conveyor belt, swing our bags in the air then smash them down into the tray. This was done to both bags as if we weren't there. Had there been something expensive in there it would have been totally destroyed. He really couldn't have cared less about our bags and their contents. We were talking to a woman on the plane who was telling us that a woman a few rows behind who had a new born baby as was told she would be given a seat with extra legroom had this taken away from her to United could sell the seat to someone paying for it. The chicken and orzo dinner was absolutely revolting. The orzo was so over cooked that it just turned to mush and the chicken really didn't taste like it had ever seen a chicken. All this combined with the issues we had on our flight out show that United are scum and just see you as ££. Sorry I cant be more complementary than that, its just the truth."

Cons: "I feel like airlines are becoming like used cars salesmen. High price ticket, then 25$ to check a bag, they give you direct tv as a preview and then make you pay to watch TV, pay for internet, want something other then pretzels, you have to pay for that too. Next up you will charge for our air conditioners to work which by the way they didn't. I have never been so uncomfortable on a flight in my life. Couldn't even bend down to get something under my seat because of the lack of space between rows. Also the air conditioner was extremely warm and the pressure of the air did not reach the seat. I was sticking to the chair because it was so warm. It just sucks that air travel has gone the way of every other industry that values quantity over quality."

Cons: "We did not like the video on the United flight that used the app. We were not told about this until it was too late and the instructions were not good for how to get the app--they were misleading. I had to go to the app store, not the United website. Also, our seats were changed without our knowledge and the flight description for the flight from Austin to Washington, DC, specified complimentary lunch and there was no lunch unless you wanted to buy it. This should be more clear, so that I can bring my own lunch if there will be none provided."
Pros: "Flight was canceled, and the crew gave little information about next steps. When asked how to rebook, they said it would be emailed, except it never was."
Pros: "I boarded Lufthansa Flight# 568 on June 1st from Frankfurt to Lagos (my Destination) but forgot my pair of glasses. I made a couple of calls and was finally able to get a contact email address for firstname.lastname@example.org. He is the gentleman at the NAHCO AVIANCE office. He was not only very professional but went over and beyond corresponding well and was able to get the word across to the Malabo Airport where the flight finally terminated. My pair of glasses was returned from Malabo to Nigeria where I picked it up within a couple of days. I was so overjoyed at this display of fantastic customer service. Great job by the excellent team at Lufthansa. I'm going to remain with Lufthansa for future trips. Signed OF."

Cons: "I was informed by text that flight would be 3 hours late but when I called I was told I would need to get to airport at least an hour before scheduled departure as They MIGHT get a new aircraft!!!! However when I got to airport the flight was now listed at 4 hours late. Then it was listed as 6 hours late and We arrived 6 1/2 hours late. I had missed my first trAin connection and lost part of that fee because of change then had to take UBER from airport to Penn Station in order to catch the LAST train to my home in upstate NY and was so late I could not call people to pick me up so had to take another taxi. The $50 credit you gave us did not even cover my extra taxi fares let alone aggravation AND the TV monitor in front of my seat did not work!! I am a United mileage person who flies regularly but to Texas and internationally but this was worst flight in years."

Cons: "My plans for travel were ruined because when I arrived at the airport for my flight I was told it was too late to check my bags, therefore I had to be placed on a later flight which then set off a chain reaction where I lost my rental car and missed various meetings at the event I was supposed to be at my final destination. The main issue was that when I purchased my ticket throughout Kayak YOU NEVER SPECIFIED THAT I SHOULD CHECK MY BAGS 45 MINUTES EARLY OR I WOULD LOOSE MY FLIGHT. YOUR LACK OF CLEAR INSTRUCTION SCREWED UP MY TRIP"

She acted like it was so hard and it took asking 4 times and finally just asking another person. I was so annoyed. They also have shitty food selections per usual. Who chooses those snack items?! They clearly have no taste. I was miserable the whole flight. I usually am not a miserable traveler so this isn't just me being negative, I seriously may write one review every few months, only if something is really good or really bad. The fact that I'm even taking the time to write this says a lot!!!"

We barely had time to make the flight with 1 1/2 hours to transfer and would have missed our flight if it wasn't for a trolley driver who took us from security to the gate. There is no power at the seats. The plane is old and seats were very uncomfortable. Yeah, this was the worst flight."

Our flight from San Francisco to Boise was cancelled and the person on the phone was not helpful at all. The two flight attendants argued at least three times dragging passengers in on their fight. My husband and I were sitting in the back. It was very uncomfortable. Thank goodness I had my headphones. Then the flight attendant followed one of the passengers to the women's restroom at the SF airport to argue her point after overhearing she was going to email the airline!"

Which turned into a 45min wait to finally tell us that we were waiting now on a new pilot to fly in from where ever he was to finally take over our flight , which didn't leave ORD till 1230.... Which was supposed to had left ORD at 930.... We finally get to PHX at 130 a.m. When were supposed to originally land n PHX at 930 mountain time! After all of this confusion and just bad manangement of time... We didn't get any apologies any kinda of compensation for time lost... Just a have a gud day! I'm pissed will Never fly with United Airlines and will tell others to also not fly United!"

Pros: "Nothing. The gate agent didn't really know how kayak works when it comes to hacker flights.Told me to call customer service. Customer service does not give you the option to speak to representatives. The phone system just loops around with out giving any options for to speak to a person. After I was on the phone with an agent he told me my money would be refunded. I have been charged two flights and I'm still sitting at home."
Cons: "Kayak did not confirm my seat. Was not able to get a flight. Called customer service and they told me to rebook. My card was charged twice. The airplane had faulted hardware. Waited in line for 2 hours to get a different flight. All flights to Phoenix were full. Didn't make the standby list. Couldn't make the rebook flight. Worst day ever Now, No one can give me a refund. mind you I took a day off from work this was a last minute. The reason this trip was so important to me is because my grandma is in the ICU. I hardly ever complain about any customer service experience. Overall to get a hold of customer service is awful. Now I have to spend more money and I have to drive 12hours."

Cons: "Turbulence was horrid. Had to re route the landing causing me to miss my connecting flight. united had no other options for 23 hours. Therefore I chose to return to my starting destination. I still had to spend the night at the airport, and missed a 10 hour day of work due to no other flight options. All I received was a verbal apology. Glad I paid for a flight to a one night stay at Denver airport and back."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for 4 hours and when I checked in the agents at the front desk offered me a $10 meal voucher to restaurants that were already closed, so it was basically useless. I had to walk to opposite end of the airport just to find something open. My seat and surrounding area were filthy. There was hard, crunchy food on the floor, the tray was sticky and the seat 'cushion' was rock hard. Being that I have a preexisting lower-back condition, sitting in that seat was horrible. When I asked a flight attendant for a wet rag to wipe the tray off they told me I could just switch seats and showed that they didn't care. Basically, it was a disappointing end to a great trip."

Cons: "Cancelled our scheduled 1:30 pm flight from Austin to Chicago for "scheduled" maintainence. We drove 3 hours and spent almost $300 for a rental car to get to Dallas for the flight they put us on, which we couldn't make. We told the check in counter and they gave us boarding passes for an American flight that wouldn't leave until 10:00 pm but that we could try to get on stand by for an earlier flight. At this point we were already missing a concert we were trying to make in Chicago. Another $150 gone. We were lucky enough to make the 8:30 pm Dallas to Chicago with American and arrived at Ohare by 11:00 pm. All in all United wasted $300 on a rental car, $150 of concert tickets and 5 hours of paid time off I can't get back. Very disappointed. PS: they gave us food vouchers at the airport to apologize and they were already expired. They couldn't do one thing right."
Cons: "It is June, not December. No idea why the delays. Got put on multiple different flights due to delays, missed connection and meeting. Turned around to go home at 3 am. It was hell. United is so disappointing, not the first time. Will avoid at all cost in the future."

Front tier airlines does not allow you to pick your seats before hand nor does it allow you to select baggage and the app, it is recessed for whatever reason. The seats are extremely tiny the tree table is so small you can barely fit an English muffin on it. There is no entertainment whatsoever, there is no Internet on the plane, and if you want anything to eat or drink besides water you will be paying for it. I’m sorry to say but flying on frontier was more like a punishment for me. I always fly American and wanted to save a few dollars what a mistake! With American most the planes that I have flown in have free movie entertainment and everybody seat the seats are comfortable And recline. And the snacks are free along with the soda. Please think twice before flying frontier."

There was minimal communication and no real understanding of what was happening by frontier. When asked about any sort of compensation the employees were extremely rude and difficult. After so many hours they’re required to give a 50 dollar voucher but failed to do so. After not sleeping for multiple nights due to my situation I did not arrive into DC till 1am and had to drive multiple hours home in the middle of the night which was a major safety hazard. Frontier did not offer to compensate a hotel or anything for the inconvenice. Extremely disappointed in the horrendous service provided by the airline in this nightmare scenario"
Cons: "HORRIBLE CREW! I’ve never been treated so poorly by a professional in any industry. They were childish and inconsiderate. They made the already horrible experience of flying with this subpar airline even worse! I would never recommend this airline to anyone. I wouldn’t fly this airline again if they paid me to. We were in the 4th row and wanted to use the restroom, they put their cart in front of aisle (horizontally) and told us we couldn’t use the front restroom. No explanation at all. Just said “you have to use the one in the back”. As we turned to walk all the way to the back you could hear them laughing and snickering at us. Another example was when we pushed the call light to ask them to take our 4 empty cans so we’d have room for our laptop on the tray. She came to our seats and asked what we wanted. When we told her she said “you’ll have to wait” then walked away empty handed. It made no sense and they didn’t pick up the garbage for awhile later. Overall, the worst. Don’t fly this airline, EVER!"

Cons: "Sat on the tarmac for over 3 hours. A fight broke loose and we had to return to the terminal and then back to the tarmac for more sitting. The crew finally figured out how uncomfortable and frustrated people were getting 2.5 hours to sitting with no air on the tarmac. They relieved their customers suffering then with complimentary water! Now that’s service. Frontier is one of the most base airlines out there. I’m entirely frustrated that they are one of the only airlines that service our podunk airport."

Pros: "Nothing. Every single person I spoke with was insulting to me, repeated information they already gave me and showed no sympathy whatsoever. They cost me money, they cost me a day of work and no one even seemed to care but every single agent did find something different about me to blame. What an embarrassment."
Cons: "I couldn't check in online because of a website error. I couldn’t get ahold of anyone on the phone to check in. When I did they said I had to use the website. I arrived in plenty of time to board (there was a 4 minute security line) but they would not check me in and told me to call a number and they made no offer to help me and told me I should have chexked in online. I called the number and they gave me. I was on hold till I missed the flight. The agent told me the people at the counter could help me. I aksed for a supervisor. He offered to reschedule me for Sunday, (today is Thursday) for a $99 fee (the ticket was $63). After arguing for an hour i finally got the supervisor to refund my money but I still had to buy another ticket on another airline to get there. I will never fly frontier again ever."
Cons: "Frontier seats are minimally padded and do not recline. It's difficult to sit in them for more than a couple of hours. Our 3.5 hour flight turned into a 7 hour flight after being unable to land because of storm conditions, circling for over an hour, and being rerouted to land at another airport for refueling before finally heading to our destination. It has been a week and our backs are still bothering us. We flew Frontier because it looked cheaper but after paying for luggage, seats, and food we would have been way better off to have flown on Southwest. We will never fly Frontier again."

I used to fly frontier exclusively the customer service wa great the plans clean with entertainment in the seat back . now it's like riding in an upholstered sewage pip With all the delux amenities of the DMV .by the time they up charge , you could have trvailed on real airline ."

Cons: "The layout of Frontier's planes, understandably, is to maximize the number of passengers while minimizing weight. However, the "lawn chair" (for lack of a better term) seating does not give a sleek, modern look; more of a cheap (and uncomfortable) one. This flight was about 2 hrs, and I couldn't sit in those seats much longer. As for the food/drinks comments, as many other travelers have noted, my suggestion is to either go back to the old school program of no-charge can of soda and small bag of pretzels, or don't even have a drink cart.....you're just making people mad in an, already, stressful environment for most."

Cons: "Biggest regret buying this "discounted" ticket. Not a real discount. Found out there were a bunch of hidden fees when I was checking in. They charge $60 for the checked bag EACH WAY and was super shocked they charge for a CARRYON!! Unbelievable. None of the regular seats recline whatsoever unless you pay more hidden fees just to have your seat not be straight up the entire time, and there is no front table to put a computer. To save another dime, they installed some super cheap 6 inch x 3 inch mini ledges that they call tables. I'll NEVER fly with Frontier again. They also refused to let me check in early so I had to sit and wait for hours since they refused to give me a boarding pass until I came all the way back to ticketing exactly and only exactly at 2 hours before boarding. Worst flight. A total shame since the crew was incredibly nice."

Cons: "They lost my bags I was flying to Atlanta from Phoenix and my bag ended up in St Louis ... i would assume that if your going to make me pay for my checked bag it would atleast make it to the correct destination. The crew wasn't as pleasant and friendly as I'd like them to be but did there jobs (I guess) then we had to sit and wait for a gate .... the only reason why a gate finally opened up was because people started asking for snacks. Overall there was nothing special about this flight I was upset that I didn't have my luggage from the beggening of my trip but the day before I left my bag was recovered . The ticket was inexpensive but I'm not sure if it was worth the hasstle Then I had to pay for my bags coming back as well. Suggestion maybe have a 50% voucher ad a courtesy from sending a bag to the wrong destination."
Pros: "Buying their bundle through Frontiers website that includes a checked bag, a carry-on, a seat, and zone one boarding was worth it for this airline."
Cons: "The plane was definitely older and there was trash and something sticky all in and around my seat. The flight attendants were very stuck up and played on their tablets and phones for the duration of the flight, ate pizza, and looked to be drinking too. Not much customer help, but that's also because no complimentary items are given through frontier, no even a half cup of soda. There are no bonus features on board like wi-fi or tv's on seat backs to order tv or movies. The price of flight was offset by the cost of bags and seat, so I ended up paying the same as I would have via United. I will not be flyin Frontier again."

Cons: "It was cheap. You get what you pay for... I had forgot that there were absolutely NO additional frills with this airline... You get one cup of water and absolutely nothing else. The staff was a nice as can be expected, but didn't look like anyone wanted to be there. And when my husband asked for some hot tea (thinking it would be complimentary - it was not), they got very frustrated. But I would guess they're just victims of their circumstances, so no hard feelings... Still, wouldn't recommend unless you're on an extreme budget."

Cons: "The attendants in the airport at DTW weren't very friendly and throw luggage on the conveyor belt not taking into consideration people's belongings. Also the cost of bags and having to pay additionally for the seat is ridiculous. I would have rather pay a little more for a ticket for a nicer plane and be able to take my carry-on And my purse for free. I actually payed more with the cost of a ticket, bags and seat than a flight out with another airline. Both flights I took PHX-DTW and back were both significantly delayed. The seats were uncomfortable and tight. This is the first and last time flying with Frontier airlines."
Pros: "Likely the most uncomfortable plane I've ever been on. Seats feature zero padding, the inability to recline, and a tray table the size of a DVD case. I'm 5' 9" 148 pounds, young and very healthy. I left the plane with a twisted up neck like I've never had before. I landed safely so I MUST be thankful for that, but if I was booking I would want to know this information. Since I'm the wiser now I will not book with Frontier again. Also it was an extra $90 for my CARRY ON round trip. It notified me it would be extra when I booked online but didn't specify how much. What a surprise. I spent more on the fees for the bag than I spent on the bag itself (and most of the contents for that matter)."
Pros: "I missed my first flight back to Phoenix and a sipervisor rescheduled me for a later flight. She was amazing and wonderful as there were no extra charges. She also helped me with handicapped transport around the airport. The man who got me from the counter to the gate stopped at a restaurant so I could grab some food as I didn't have any time to eat during the day. However all 3 flights were pushed back with the last over 2 hours late. I didn't get home until well after 2 am. Should have gotten home by 11:30 pm. Colleen"

Cons: "I was checking in on my app while I was on my way to airport. Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes before departure time. The app didn't work and keeps on telling me the app has error. I restarted phone and everything. I had to check in at airport with no bags. When I arrived, there WAS NO ONE at check in desk. I was standing at empty security checkpoint and I could see my gate. The frontier employees were at gate early and never came to assist me. I waited for an hour until my flight left. You can imagine how furious I was- ridiculous for me to have this kind of experience. Thankfully united airlines got me on plane. Never flying frontier again."
Cons: "Tried to cancel this flight using the flight insurance I was up sold during checkout. Turns out that the flight insurance was only available for international flights? When I ask the agent why it was the recommended during purchase, she said I should have read the full terms and conditions during checkout. To me, this was a true scam. She told me that I could appeal the conditions of the travel insurance, but I would have to present a death certificate of the friend's baby that had just passed - the reason the baby shower was cancelled, and the reason this trip was cancelled. It was appalling. I tried calling Frontier directly, but their reservation desk was closed due to their system being down. HOURS I tried to call, and could not get a rep. I ended up not able to cancel the flight or even speak w a Frontier rep before my flight departed. In all, I was given 6 different numbers or lines to call to sort through this situation. All I did was waste hours of my time. This was a terrible situation where I feel like I was the victim of a scam."
Pros: "Planes are newer, seat backs are thinner which gives the impression of more leg room, not very comfortable though unfortunately."
Cons: "For what looks like a competitive airfare consumers get up charged when it's time to get your seat assignment (ie. pay $9 or $15 or $30 MORE for a seat on the plane when it's time to check in - not disclosed when you book through Kayak of course). To be fair, there was 1 seat available for $0, it was in the last row in the middle...1 seat. I also experienced a first...getting charged $30 to bring my backpack on board as a carry-on. Airlines are now charging to put luggage in the overhead compartment. Same carry-on luggage you'd bring with you on any other airline for free, apparently not on Frontier. $30 for a backpack, wow. Apparently Frontier also claims 'we don't participate in TSA Pre-Check', meaning it's great if you have TSA Pre-check, but given Frontier doesn't 'participate' in this program even if the consumer has paid the $100 and cleared to checks to use this program (which is awesome), if you fly Frontier, you can't use it, they won't put the 'TSA Pre-Check' denotation on your boarding pass. Huh? I get companies like this shooting for operational efficiency, scaling lean, profit maximization et al, however this airline feels like a total money suck from top to bottom. 'We have snacks available for purchase'! Of course you do Frontier, of course you do."

Cons: "Upcharge for Seats, Upcharge for Checked Bags, Upcharge for Carry Ons, Upcharge for Water. They charge you for water. That seems illegal. The flight was delayed, the gate was changed. We had to change gates which means we had to go through security twice. The staff blamed everyone and everything else (even the passengers) for all the issues and took ZERO responsibility for anything. I can't believe they are still in business with this level of customer service. The flight attendants were ghetto too. Making light of a bad situation by saying the worst things possible. Total embarasment transfer. I'll never fly Frontier again and will think twice about booking travel with Kayak."

Cons: "Flight 1884 out of SFO was doomed from the beginning starting with a notice (thanks Kayak) via email that the flight would be 1 hour late. Then, the Departure board at the airport totally dropped the flight, Then (again thru Kayak) I read that the flight would NOT board in terminal 1, Gate 21, Domestic terminal, but ar gate A3 in the International terminal. We all had to exit domestic and go to international and again through TSA. Then the flight departed another 30 minutes late finally over 2 hours LATE! Upon arrival at Phoenix the plane taxied too far away from the exit ramp-another 40 minutes before we could depart. It was an awful flight experience. Did they offer a free soda or anything for inconvenience we experienced-NOT A THING!"

Cons: "Frontier WAY overbooked the first flight. Myself and 4 others sat on a bench and waited to see if we could even get on the flight because it was "overbooked". No warning that this might happen mind you. When expressing my shock that the flight was overbooked, the gate attendants explanation was "Well that's frontier for you!" what kind of response is that? When speaking to the others waiting with me to see if they would be flying or waiting 24hrs before the next flight they said they will probably never fly Frontier again. Fast foward to the second flight, boarding went smoothly, the flight was fine and on time, until we landed and there was "another plane at the gate and it would be 5 minutes or so." 20 minutes later we start moving toward the gate only to get a second announcement that there was no crew to dolly us to the gate and we would have to wait til someone got us. Tack on another 40 minutes and we had been waiting in one spot for an hour after landing turning our 2 hour flight into a 3 hour flight. A woman even missed her second flight because of that delay! Seriously crazy that an airline can be so irresponsible with their customers money and time."
Pros: "The flights went fine, and were mostly on-time, just a little delay leaving Chicago because the incoming flight had to wait for a gate to open up"
Cons: "Frontier's customer service line is horrible, with no clear option to reach a person to ask questions of without hunting through every option. Also, they charged me to pick a seat, ANY seat, so what the hell am I paying for when I pay for a flight?! I also had to put my backpack under my seat, even though it was stated numerous times on their website that it would be too big, and I had to pay $40 to make it a carry-on, when there was no room in the overhead bins. Their customer service line AND website stated I could be charged up to DOUBLE that ($80) if I had to pay for it at the gate. I looked it up, and I would have payed less on at least two other carriers because of the extra charges. This is information that should CLEARLY be stated when listing the costs of a flight, not "covered" under "additional costs may apply" or some such legalese"
Cons: "I bought a plane ticket and then had to pay for a seat on top of that, as well as exorbitant charges for bags, and we ended up paying far more than even the plane ticket for all the extra charges. If I buy a plane ticket, that price is what I am expecting to pay. I understand a few charges here and there, but more than double what I expected to pay is completely crooked and terrible business. The plane ride was bare bones, uncomfortable seats, and average service. We will never be flying Frontier again."

Cons: "But. That price was an outright lie. That price was only to get a spot on the plane. Then you had to choose your seat with an up barge of anywhere from $11-$35. Then you have to pay for a bag. Zero free bags. Carey on cost $40. $40!!!! And a checked bag is $35. So my low prices ticket actually cost me another $51 plus tax above advertised. Then the plane. Plastic seats that do not recline or have any head support adjustment. I'm 5'10" and my knees touched the next seat. The over 6' gu next to me had his legs spread into both my area and the woman next to him just to try and fit at all. The only complimentary drink was water. No entertainment screen and the most laughable tray table I've ever seen. I had a cup of small Starbucks coffee and it wouldn't even sit flat on the little narrow tray. I used to fly frontier exclusively because the prices where really great and so was everything else. I'll never fly frontier again if I can help it."
Pros: "Except for my "complaint," I thought the flight was fine. People were helpful boarding the play. The crew seemed friendly and chatty. I had a good seat (upgraded to the first three rows for extra expense). The monkey white wine was good and the flight attendant was witty and helpful. Thanks!"
Cons: "The only thing that caused me some concern was that the ATL gate on the printed ticket read 1 but the actual departure gate was 1A. At first I went to 1 and the flight information said Trenton and I didn't see the 1A or even go there to look. I found a helpful Delta service personnel who said, "Oh these people, they are never around to help the passengers. I'll help you. He went online at a kiosk in the general hallway and pulled up the flight as departing 1A. Sincere there was no way for me to know about this. I could have missed the flight. Either post someone to direct passengers OR put the correct information on the electronic ticket. Thanks."
Cons: "I lost my bag on a direct flight from Denver to Austin. Once Frontier lost my bag, a representative gave me a claim number and a number to call for inquiries and a status update. I called the lost baggage claim department several times and not once did they answer my call. I had to leave a few voice mails to an automated system. Finally, someone after 12 hours from leaving my initial voicemail called me back to let me know that my bag was found and would be delivered to the my friend's address. The bag was not delivered to my friend's house until 1:30am the following night, which was 36 hours after my flight had landed in Denver from Austin. Frontier also said that they would refund me the $40, but that they happened either. Frontier has very low air fares, but I now know that is in fact very deceiving and ultimately not in fact true. Asking customers to pay $40 both ways to check a bag is not worth it if they can't even safely transport a bag on a direct flight."
Cons: "I arrived at Austin airport one hour before my flight and no one was at the Frontier counter to help with a boarding pass and check my bag in. I had no choice but to miss my flight and they wouldn't give me a refund and basically told me it was my fault because I didn't arrive two hours prior to boarding? The Lady at the Delta counter told me no one had been at the Frontier counter for over an hour! So I recommend anyone spend the extra money and avoid this airline like the plague. Terrible terrible terrible!"
Cons: "Frontier's baggage policy is such a rip off and comparatively over priced. They allow 1 checked bag for 40$ whereas American Airlines and others charge 25$ a bag. For carry on items Frontier charges 60$(!) We were two passengers with each allowed a carry on item. After paying for our 2 bags, we were about to board when the lady at the boarding gate insisted on having us pay for our carry on ( whilst they clearly say one carry on item per person ). We were threatened with being kicked off the flight if we didn't pay for the carry on. Other passengers were also subjected to this behaviour. Never flying Frontier again. Rude boarding attendant, and a rip off baggage policy."
Cons: "My flight was delayed for 6 and a half hours. On top of that the airline charges $35 each way to have a carry on so I had to pay $70 on top of my already $200 something ticket. Then they charged $2 on the flight for a soda which is normally complimentary on all other airlines I have flown on. Then when I called customer service they said there was nothing they could do or credit any of the fees I incurred from paying for carry on baggage and said it was too bad the flight was delayed they didn't care at all."

Cons: "They cancelled my flight the night before, their website gave confusing information (some places said it was on time, some said cancelled), and I was on hold for SEVEN HOURS!!!!! They never actually answered the phone. Guess what? I went to the airport in person, and nobody was at the Frontier counter for 3 hours. When someone finally showed up, THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THE NUMBER I WAS ALREADY ON HOLD WITH! I told him I'd been awake the entire night trying to solve this issue. SCREW IT! In the end, I went with Delta, costing me $441 more dollars on top of what Frontier stole! Delta was fantastic, the guy who booked me was hilarious and helpful, and I'm never messing with this 3rd party nonsense again unless I get a full refund."
Cons: "All frontier cares about is nickle and diming their customers. The flight was not too much less than any of the other airlines, but I should've done reviews before choosing them. They charge you $20 for your seat on top of your fare when you try to check in 24 hours early. They charge more for a carry on than a checked bag. They do not provide anything complimentary during the flight. Drinks are $2. Overall, I spent just as much as I would've with Southwest of American, but I felt ripped off and unappreciated. If you want a loyal customer base, Fronteir, I suggest you change your flight policies. This is 2016 and customer service is everything."
Pros: "The only two things I was dissatisfied with was baggage claim how nearly after 25 minutes finally our bags came. The second was the air stewards. They kept smashing into me and I was sitting on the aisle seat. One was skinny so I don't know why she kept bumping my arm the second one was overweight and even if he sidled he still would brush passengers's parts of their body on the aisle side. The tall skinny stewardes walked very heavily and I was trying to nap and everytime she walked past it woke me up. She needs to learn how to walk lightly that's my feedback"
Cons: "I had a pretty unpleasant experience with Frontier on 12/21/15. Rain in San Francisco caused flight delays. Go figure. Frontier kept us waiting for six hours then cancelled the flight. They were rude; they didn't help their customers, including families with kids, get on other airlines; said they would try to getpeople out of SFO in the next couple days! When I realized I would not get to the wedding I was trying to attend, they siad they wouldn't refund my money' When I insistedon a refund they then said there would be a $19.99 cancellation fee. Eventually, they agreed on a refund. Pretty poor way to run a business. On the other hand, when I needed to cancel my Enterprise car rental, I was able to do it in less than two minutes over the phone - no hassle."

Cons: "It is incredibly dishonest to not include the 40$ fee to carry on any bag, and 13-20$ fee to choose a seat, bringing up a 60$ per flight leg additional cost. That means roundtrip tickets can easily be 100$ more expensive than listed, making other, more reputable airlines actually cheaper. Not to mention they do not take electronic tickets like every other airline, and when the flight was delayed, I went to have my ticket printed and no one was staffing the desk and no automated kiosks were available. I managed to flag someone down and they wanted to refuse to print me one because "my flight was listed as earlier" despite me being emailed by them that the flight was delayed. I eventually got to my destination, but I will never book a flight with them again. Let's not even mention charging for water, the plastic seats on the plane, etc. Terrible airline."
Pros: "The plane was clean, the staff on flught was professional but I already knew I would have to pay for a carry on so opted not to take one. Stepped on board with a bag to go under a seat which was the only saving grace for a flight with this airline. A reasonable price if you aren't taking much."
Cons: "After the flight I looked at my credit card statement and noticed a LARGE, unexplained charge. (When I say large I mean 4x the price of the original ticket). Turned out that when I checked in they decided I needed my full middle name because the initial wasn't enough, even though that's all they originally asked for. Then they automatically charged me for the change without notifying me! Reported it to my credit card company as fraud until I found out what happened. They ended up refunding the charge, admitting they shouldn't have charged it in the first place, but what a hassle! Not an airline for passengers who care about their money."
Pros: "The flight itself was okay, except there was a 1.99 charge for a can of soda. But what really made the trip miserable for me is that I was charged 60 dollars at the gate to carry on my small bag which would not fit under my seat but did fit in the overhead space. Nowhere that I saw when I bought this ticket did I see on the website that I would be charged for carry-on luggage. When I got my boarding pass, the guy asked if I wanted to check my bag and I said I would carry it on. We agreed the size was okay. He did not mention to me at that counter when I was getting a boarding pass and we were talking about the bag that there would be a carry on charge. I didn't learn about it until I was at the gate and couldn't do anything about it. If I had been told at the counter, it would have only been 45 dollars and 30 to check it which I would have done. On the plane - thinking about it - I realized he must have been told by the company not to mention the charge so that I would have to pay SIXTY DOLLARS to carry my bag on and the company would get maximum amount of money from me.. That is a complete scam and I feel really ripped off. Because of that experience, I WILL NEVER FLY FRONTIER AGAIN! and I am telling all my friends to stay away from Frontier as well."
Pros: "Crew was fine. Plane seemed safe and pretty clean. Already knew about the extra baggage charges and such, and this was still cheaper, which is why I went with it. But even that didn't prepare me for the extreme either incompetence or unpreparedness."
Cons: "If I'd already known about this, I could have kept my rental for a few more hours. Instead, I dropped off my rental early and showed up to the airport a couple of extra hours early so that I could just relax, eat, and read a book. As it turns out...these idiots aren't capable of checking bags for more than one flight at a time. So the bags I was going to check? I had to not only lug them around the airport for an extra 2 or 3 hours (since I couldn't go elsewhere after dropping off my rental car), but I also got delayed at the TSA checkpoint, because I wasn't considering the souvenir sodas and such that I had PLANNED TO CHECK and therefore shouldn't have been a problem for me. So yeah, I had to take my stuff over to the side and go through it and have my stuff thrown away and lose half of my "relaxation" time, all because Frontier is only able to handle one flight per 3 hours (and yes, they did tell me to come back in AT LEAST 2 HOURS, which was less than 2 hours before my flight, to actually check my bags). What a waste of time, money, energy, and trust. NEVER AGAIN."

Terrible service, terrible airline, don't be tricked by 5% cheaper fairs... they suck!"
Cons: "They canceled our flight home from PHX to MSP, they blamed weather in DFW, which is bull, there were many other airlines flying out of DFW that morning. Because they blamed weather, there was no compensation for screwed up schedules. The next available flight was 2.5 DAYS later!! no other options, it was ridiculous... they were no help to get rebooked on another airline, or even driving to another airport... horrible all around. We ended up driving to Mesa Gateway, flying Alegiant Air to Fargo, renting a car, driving 5.5 hours back to MSP to get our car, then 2.5 hours home again. But it's all good, Spirit refunded that leg of our fare... $220... we spent over $750 to get home by 1am, when we should have been there by early afternoon. DONT EVER FLY SPIRIT - THEY'RE THE WORST..."
Pros: "I like the name of their airline but that’s pretty much it. I would only consider them as a last resort."
Cons: "I have to be 45 minutes early to check in, I showed up 37 minutes early. They were VERY firm about the 8 minute difference which was disappointing but ultimately it was my fault I missed the flight and I accept responsibility for that. I didn’t make a fuss or try to negotiate, as soon as they told me that taking my flight was not an option I accepted it and moved on. My problem was with the level of service I received. I was very calm and polite with them and they were very uninterested in helping me find a solution for another flight. They seemed annoyed that I even asked them to help me explore other options . There were some annoyed sighs, they looked and shrugged at me without saying anything one time but the most annoying thing was that I was cutoff while talking to them multiple times. Even when I was just saying things like “hey sorry this is a complicated situation but I appreciate your help, the most important thing is making it to my destination on time not the price”. The options they were offering me were valued based on price, I wanted them to look at arrival time first and price second but they cut me off and started talking about other things. Other times when I’m saying something they would just turn away while I’m in the middle of my sentence and ask a co-worker a question as if I was never speaking to them in the first place. In the end they said I need to speak to the supervisor. I asked if they could get her for me and they said no because she was in another part of the airport at the moment, they have walkie talkies so I asked if they could at least contact her through there and let her know about my situation. They didn’t do that either, instead they just told me to wait and keep an eye out for her. They said she’s short with curly hair. That’s it. So I’m supposed to just sit and wait for someone that I’ve never seen before in my life. Apparently she walked by and I missed her because she wasn’t dressed the same as her other employees but the employees saw her and didn’t bother to get her attention and point her in my direction. After another few minutes of waiting I asked them where she was and they said “oh she walked by you didn’t see her?” The airline was not busy at all either so there is absolutely no excuse for this awful service. Once I arrived at my destination I told my friends and family about my experience and they had their own horror stories with spirit airlines too. The terrible experience made me very hesitant to fly with them again but the fact that my friends & family have had their own separate awful experiences made me 100% sure that I never want to use this airline again. I ended up taking a flight with United Airlines who had employees that were way friendlier and more helpful."

Cons: "Over two hour delays waiting to board going both ways. In both cases the planes and cabin crew were on site but waiting for pilots. Apparently the pilots are suffering from 'blue flu' because they're not getting paid as much as other airline pilots, so they're intentionally calling in sick at the last minute. If the pilots keep this up they won't have airline to work for. Also didn't like that you pay for ANY luggage (even one carry on bag). By the time you pay for the add on fees your right back at the same price as other airlines. Then you add the time delays on, and your losing out. Won't be flying this airline again."

Cons: "I can't give it a rating because they cancelled the flight and had nothing to book us on. Waited over 3hrs before they finally found me something. Gave me a hotel voucher but when I finally got to the hotel, they had no rooms. The transportation to the hotel cost a fortune because the hotel shuttle would not pick up the phone. They finally put me in a room with someone else from my flight. I got 60 min of sleep before having to return to airport. I'm a 49 yr old woman that flies often and this was by far the worst flight/airline experience that I've ever had. And, the lady at the hotel kept my food vouchers so I didn't even get to eat the next day."

Not a big issue it was just delayed by 45 min. Once we boarded we sat there for about 30 to 40 min just to be told the pilot never showed. So they pulled us off the plane. We were then told that they had another pilot coming but it's going to be 2 hours. I was delayed 4 hours not beacuse of weather or plain issue but beacuse the airline could not keep there schedules in order. How did they not know a pilot was not going to show. How annoying it was to load on a plane to be pulled off again and loaded on again. Worst flight I have ever had and after all that they did not provide a complementary drink or even offer to refund my bag check beacuse of the huge mistake on thee behalf."

I decided to check the status today instead of waiting in the airport for four hours and yes--- again it was delayed one hour and then two hours. so I planed accordingly and planned to be at the airport 1.5 hours ahead of the revised flight time. then they changed the flight time again and now I've missed my flight. this airline is absolutely the worst and I have flown domestically and internationally for over 35 years. I'm done with you spirit!"
Pros: "Honestly I didn't like anything about it. The flight itself was fine but charging for everything including checking luggage, $55, and carry on's, $52, was so expensive. I don't have issues with affording flying expenses but I don't expect to pay this kind of money without being informed when I purchase my ticket. NONE of this was explained in the purchase part of the ticket. I will NEVER and I repeat NEVER fly this airline again. I fly all the time for business and family related matters and have never had this type of expenses included in my flight. I am not a frugal person but this is ridiculous. Domestic flights will be only on airlines that do not charge for these things i.e. checking bags and pretzels for Christ sake. Spirit never! Thank you. Call me Chuck Fantastic."

You buy a ticket thinking you are getting a great deal, until you realize you have to pay for EVERYTHING: your carry on, your bags (OH, and they only have a 40lb limit, beware), your seat, and so much more. They are not helpful at check in and honestly don't want people to even have to deal with their agents (do it all online) and charge you $10 extra if you do need to speak to an agent. They are terrible. Food is expensive and they don't give you ANYTHING as a courtesy. I can't believe they are actually making money - but they do it because we all buy a ticket thinking it is a great deal only to find out we have to pay all the fees. I think KAYAK needs to REALLY consider if this is a business they want to promote as a low cost airline."

Cons: "Sprit did not charge anything for one personal carry on bag from Phoenix to LAX but on my return flight they did not say anything at aquiring boarding pass .When boarding was pulled out of line and slapped with a 100 dollar charge to carry my one bag that has fit on all overhead carry space for all major carriers that I have Never had to pay for the last 10 years"

The people at the check-in counter said my seat had been given away, they could not reroute me with their computer system, and I had to call Reservations. I did so, was put on hold for several long stretches, and ultimately told that not only could I not get on another outbound flight without purchasing a brand-new ticket, but my return flight was now nullified and I would have buy that again too. Despite how distraught I obviously was, Spirit was unwilling to do anything to assuage the situation. I wasted an hour on the phone in the airport and ended up having to drive to LA through traffic on my birthday. A terrible experience. Never again. Will fly Southwest."

I am lucky I asked first because they had to make a special call for me since I couldn't wait at the airport for it at my destination. If I did not ask I would have been completely screwed up! I then waited in security for 45 minutes. My flight got delayed about 3.5 hours Total before actually taking off. I flew from LAX to PHX. I will never in a million years ever fly spirit airlines again."
Cons: "I checked in on my phone the night before and took a screen shot of the boarding pass once the "print boarding pass" automatically opened. After waiting in the security line at Denver International for 25 minutes I got to the front and tried to scan my phone on the TSA machine and was informed Spirit doesn't use mobile boarding passes (the one I had saved is not able to be read by TSA machine)! I had to go all the way to the ticket counter for a paper boarding pass and almost missed my flight. It's 2016 and Spirit does not use mobile passes...so lame."
Cons: "Our flight home was cancelled "because the pilot didn't want to fly" on an 11pm flight. Chaos ensued and we ran for the ticketing gate. We arrived 4th in line. We were assured we would be ticketed "in order" and we had asked for the earliest flight back. Needless to say, we were NOT given an early flight, yet others after us were. There was no refund issued for baggage and this process took 2 and a half hours--remember, we were at the front. There was rudeness to many upset or frustrated passengers from the staff that seemed unwilling to assist people to the best of their abilities. More so seeming more agitated than the sleepless passengers. NEVER save a little money by taking this airline!! There are many reasons this airline has 1 star ratings!!!"
Pros: "The flight was cancelled dye to "unexpected weather iin Colorado" however after talking to a different airline and also a friend who flew to CO, I know it was bullshit. The weather in CO was perfect an my flight was canceled because Spirit airlines couldnt fill the flight. That is NOT MY PROBLEM and I shouldn't suffer for this. I do a lot of travel and have NEVER has a canceled flight. I used to fly between PHX and LA frequently and have been on next to empty flights but I have never been held responsible for the airlines inability to get business. I will NEVER book a flight through Spirit EVER again!!"

Pros: "The flight was wonderful. My seat was comfortable. Flt crew was very good."
Cons: "They charged $110 for golf clubs and a small suitcase. My flight was going to be on time but the decided to give that plane to the people heading to Vegas because they had been delayed all morning. Spirit told us we would be delayed four hours, then 30 minutes later they said the flight was completely cancelled. I had to go back to the main terminal to pick up my bags and had to go to the Spirit Airlines ticket counter to rebook and get a refund. The line was so long and slow it would have taken hours to talk to someone from Spirit. I called Customer Service and was on hold for 50 minutes before I could finally get refunded. This made me miss the last Spring Training game in AZ! I've been flying for 35 years and this was the worst flying experience in my life!"
Pros: "Nothing. Flight was cancelled. That was just the beginning of a travel nightmare. I can't believe Kayak compromises their reputation by representing a shoddy, sham of a business like Spirit."
Cons: "Cancelled flight at the very last minute because of lack of crew. Not enough staff to accommodate travellers trying to rebook flights. Inept and apathetic staff who were obviously resigned to the fact that Spirit is a substandard airline There was miscommunication and lack of communication in organizing travelers which caused multiple altercations between upset travelers. It was a very disturbing experience. My rebooking took an hour because the staff member didn't know how to rebook! The 'Supervisor' who was at the next desk, was SLOWLY checking bags for other customers and did not help AT ALL. I suggested that he switch places with my agent. He ignored me competely. Attempts to call Spirit resulted in multiple auto transfers and ultimately an intentional auto cut off. I was rebooked on United. When I checked in at their desk, they told me that all the other transferred Spirit customers before me had been sent back to the Spirit Desk because their transfers had not gone through. I have been warned about Spirit. Now I would warn anyone considering Spirit. If it goes right, you're ok. If not, get ready for a travel nightmare. No one needs this kind of abuse."
Cons: "I don't fly Spirit that much but what I saw looked good, on time at both stops and I especially liked getting on board early as opposed to waiting until 15 minutes before the plane takes off. What I didn't care for, but what I now understand is all the extra specific charges they continue to bombard you with are really charges you don't need. Bottom line for me is that I think I spent more money because I purchased other things and the final price that I paid was MORE then my the conventional favored airline! I will fly Spirit in the future."
Pros: "Crew had a good upbeat attitude and a fun sense of humor."
Cons: "No free drinks- not even water! Additional charges like crazy. I would not consider this a discount airline. The ticket appears cheap at face value but they charge more for a carry on than a checked bag and the closer you get to your flight the more they charge you for any and all bags. I can confidently say I will never take this airline again and I would not recommend."
Cons: "Having to figure out on my own to check bags days before so I wouldn't get charged a ridiculous amount when I arrived. Wasn't allowed a carry on for free. Be sure to print your boarding pass a day ahead of time or they will even charge you for that! Fly name brand airlines, it will cost the same on the end if not less."
Cons: "We paid $50 to check my wife's bag and they lost it! They also charge you $55 for a carry-on bag. We are only in Arizona for four days and it had everything important in it for us and our baby. The sad thing is that my smaller checked bag was shipped properly but we had nothing important in it. If they hadn't lost our luggage I think my review would be a lot different or our experience would be much better."

Cons: "Security took too long and spirit doesn't have mobile boarding passes so I missed my flight. Then after I ran to the spirit counter they didn't offer my a voucher for another flight nor a refund. They said they could move my flight to the next day or do nothing. I fly a lot and have never ran into this problem before. Don't bother trying to call their "customer service" phone number either because it's the wrong number, then you will be redirected to an answering service that doesn't work, then placed on hold for 20+ minutes, followed up by a service rep who isn't helpful and doesn give you any answers."

Cons: "I did not like the extremely high bag prices and seat prices - outrageous. I have always assumed that when you buy a ticket it entitles you to a seat on the plane. I guess not any more. I had to pay $14 each way. That is just wrong!!! There were a few free seats, but very few and they were taken.. This airline brags about their low ticket prices. They are much higher when you add all the other charges in. I will not travel on this airline again. It is sad how everything is all about gouging the customer for as much money as they can."
