Students with an F-1 or M-1 visa and their F-2 and M-2 dependents, if they arrive from or have been in Ireland, the UK or Schengen Area in the past 14 days.
Starting on January 26, all travelers (including US citizens and transit passenger) must present a negative COVID-19 viral or antigen test result issued 72 hours prior to departure or have an evidence of having contracted and recovered from COVID-19 prior to boarding the plane.
US citizens and permanent residents arriving from the UK must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure.
Travelers returning to the US are advised to stay home as much as possible, avoid being around people and consider getting tested for COVID-19 after returning from travel and participated in higher risk activities.

Had doubts about using Turkish and a little less expensive ticket turned out to be the most expensive in many ways. Went to the gate 17 minutes early and the agents and the plane was there but was refused entry and was lied and told to go to gate 215 and missed the flight even though there were empty seats on the plane. Asked for help at the other gate but was given the run around and ignored by everyone and told to go to gate 214. After I went to gate 214 was told to go to customer service lower level. Turkish airline supervisor Mustafa Bogaz at Istanbul customer service held a grudge because I was upset and yelled at one of the supervisors and he told Mustafa and everyone not to help me and wanted to get back at me and said penalty in front of me to the customer service member I was speaking with. Mustafa lied and would not put me on a connecting flight and said I had to pay penalty and wait 24 hours. Told me to go to customer service outside the airport and would not call them after I told him I was ready to pay for a connecting flight and could not wait 24 hours and needed to go to work. Even though an American citizen was told needed a visa after waiting 1 hour in line and had to pay to exit the airport. The machine didn't work and the credit card was refused. Got stuck at the airport for 24 hours and missed work and a family event. Turkey is a hell hole and nothing works. Will never visit again. Mustafa 6 hours later was still holding a grudge and told another customer service member in Turkish in front of me to lie to me and say there was no emergency aisle seat available for the flight the next day. Got an emergency aisle seat the next morning when Mustafa wasn't there. Everyone in the customer service team including other supervisors took Mustafa's side and would not help me and lied. Everyone had no compassion and held a grudge."

Wine was poured on my back, water splashed on the person next to me, children were climbing over my head... etc. No parents or flight attendants could help the situation. Boarding was a mess. 10-15 passengers surrounding me sat anywhere they wanted creating a delay to push back because everyone just sat with their family and disregarded the chaos it created for those individual travelers wanting to sit in "THEIR PROPER SEAT". This was the worst / never ending flying experience I've ever had. I will never fly Turkish Airlines again."

I didn't see any value that this extra security was adding, and I'm all about extra security... just not this experience. On the other hand, the extra security was also very frustrating to me because my previous Turkish Airline flight had arrived late and boarding had already started before I even got off the first plane. I just wanted to get through the gate and be done considering the big rush the delayed flight caused. Also, part of the last meal served was salmon. There were no alternatives to non-seafood eaters, but they did have enough other food on the plate, which made the situation bearable."

Pros: "There was nothing enjoyable about this flight. I am re-thinking if I ever want to take another Turkish Airlines flight again. I gave them rave reviews on the flight from Chicago to Istanbul, could this possibly be the same airline?"
Cons: "Boarding process was chaotic and crowded. They should not be pushing a full plane load (777) through a tiny boarding area. By the time I got on the plane, all the overheads were full or overflowing. People were not being told to put one carry-on under the seat in front of them. The seats were the closest together I have experienced in a long time, probably since I flew Ryan Air. The spacing was totally inadequate for a flight that took 10.5 hours of flight time. We got stuck in a section with young children, and the inattention/poor behavior of the parents was ignored by the flight crew. Honestly, this was the WORST flight I have ever been on in my life and I have flown hundreds of thousands of miles over the past 40 years."

Cons: "Our initial checkin was handled by a trainee in Chicago whom we told specifically that we were going to stay in Istanbul for one night on our way to Barcelona. She assumed that our final destination was Barcelona. But after verifying the tags on our luggage, I immediately told her that no, we were to spend one night in Istanbul as we had a performance (we're both musicians). Needless to say our luggage was not on the belt in Istanbul and after more than one hour we chased it down before it made it on the plane to BCN. Our tuxedos for our performance were in the suitcases and we were late for our performance in Istanbul. I will file a formal complaint with your company and I did save the luggage tags as proof. Unfortunately, this put us in a very stressful position, specifically after we had told your check in agent. The overall service was wonderful, however this check in agent truly needs a little more time and supervision before being allowed to check in passengers independently."

You go ahead and cater to the rich and I’ll choose to fly with another airline."

Only when I approached the gate to board did I notice on the info screen that I had been "upgraded" to Comfort + and granted boarding with the Sky Priority group. I wish this had been clearer so I could have avoided waiting to board and gate-checking my bag. Minor inconvenience but room for improvement on Delta's part."

So, they put on the next flight... 6 hours later. Said I could fly without the bag... uh, no thanks. They would not look for alternatives without charging me more. Flight attendants were crabby, otherwise everything was fine. I flew British Airways a few months ago. Night and day. Seriously. Delta does not even approach having good service. There was no comparison to British Air--- Delta is not in the same league."

Cons: "We booked with Delta, but were put on Air France. Even though we had our boarding passes in hand we had to wait in long, slow line for baggage tags because they would not print from kiosk. There was minimal Air France staff on duty serving thousands of passengers during busy season (July). While the lines grew larger, the staff was reduced from 4 to 2. Another long, slow line for customs, another long slow line for security=Charles De Gaulle airport was awful. We arrived at the airport 4 hours before our departure time and got to our boarding gate with no time to spare."

The flight attendants were nice but I was in a seat near the engine and it was making really weird noises. I fly almost every two weeks, so I'm used to engine noises but this was one of the loudest/most rickety sounding flights I have ever been on.. and I have flown Spirit a few times. It just didn't feel safe. Landing scared me a little too as I have landed in O'Hare countless times and have never flown so low to the highway upon entry. It felt like we were only a couple hundred feet above the cars."

After this we were given great service until half way through the flight when I was becoming quite thirsty and kept trying to signal the flight attendant based on my help button, but no one came, so I had to stop a flight attendant that was passing so I could ask for some water to drink. Overall, the flight was OK, even though I felt a little crammed in my seat and the need to fish for a flight attendant just to get water was a hassle."

The bathrooms on the lower level provided a space to stretch, but as always, they get pretty dirty on a long-haul flight. Price was quite good. I always feel the flights originating from Europe are nicer than those originating in the US."

I appreciate the civility that still exists under stressful circumstances."

We spent the night on hard chairs in the airport when we could have been re-booked on a flight out that night if they had been at all organized and efficient."

The SAS workers need to be trained - how about putting up a sign that says "this line for parking vouchers ony'ly" when 300 people are lined up for assistance."

Also, the flight was delayed by about 2 hours, and they didn't make an announcement until we were about an hour late. Thankfully, I was getting updates from Kayak, or else I wouldn't have even known we were delayed."
