Pros: "When i asked for a window seat at the gate, i was provided one in the comfort zone. Very impressed and pleased. However, the remaining two segments were the opposite. Staff at the gate did not assist in any way for the remaining two flights."

The delta folks blamed Kayak. We did get seat together, but not the ones I had previously chosen. Also there was no beverage service on this flight."

They treated me with derision and ridicule because my previous flight was with a different airline, an airline that is closely enough associated with American that they booked me on an American flight. It should have been possible to at least talk to someone that could address my situation but now I'm stuck with the likely loss of something important to me and a strong dislike of American airlines. I'm probably just salty because it happened yesterday though. I'll get over the jacket eventually and probably fly with American again. But I will always resent them."

They took our plane out of service (which I get, I would want brakes before takeoff), but then they never updated us on our status, until I physically went to the counter to ask an hour later. This is when they informed me that the flight was cancelled and we were rebooked on the 9pm flight (Mind you, this is 12:30p and I have a 2 year old with me). Luckily, I was able to book JetBlue and get home earlier (8:00pm)"

This is embarrassing at the gate especially since it looks like we are cutting the line. What good is this "privilege" if you have to assert it every time or hold a credit card in hand with your carryon and boarding pass. This should be included in our ticketing at the time of purchase and upgraded on our boarding pass if we use the damn card for the purchase. It is now not a "privilege" but an inconvenience."

Their customer service offered no help and was extremely rude to us."

My luggage was also lost (the last to handle the luggage was this lady) and I needed to retrieve it 3 hours after my flight arrived."

Honestly I've never been on time with an American Airlines flight . I could have taken a bus and gotten to my destination faster, communication is poor , had to walk from terminal 4 to 6 because they have gates at both but didn't post the correct terminal to my ticket , so I walked from 4 to 6 ... Then the delay made me walk back to 4 because of a gate change . Then we waited on the plane for another half hour . All in all its not really the staff but more so the actual operation of the airline that I'm not willing to work with anymore ."

It was bizarre because in planes with 2 seats on each side they put us one on each side. Then they put us in the middle when there were 3 seats and separated another husband and wife in our same row. I an chose other airlines that seat us next to each other without paying 30$ more per seat per flight. I am a mileage plus card holder too."

Our small plane was just outside the door with access door still open and staff going in and out. Next flight was 5 hours later. We asked to speak to a supervisor and that was ignored until we demanded attention. The supervisor came 1.5 hours after we were denied plane access. Customer concern was nonexistant on this day."

He was big enough that he pre- boarded with people with disabilities and had the armrest folded up when I sat. He spilled over on to my side and had some of his weight on me. I was pushed out into the isle enough that the attendant rammed my knee with her cart. I was keeled over the isle armrest I develope shoulder and back pain."

I usually do pay the extra $25-$50 to get a little extra leg room, ever since airlines such as United have taken to stuffing more and more seats without any consideration to their customers comfort. Charging money to get a few precious inches back is really nothing short of extortion, but I play along just to avoid being cramped over the course of any given flight. On this flight there was absolutely no difference between the upper two "Economy Plus" aisles and the aisle I had originally purchased. Basically I was deceived into paying an extra $43 for the privilege of being served my complimentary can of coke ahead of everybody else. Ever heard of the Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices under Dodd Frank, United Airlines? This is no different. Shame on all of you, greedy nickel and diming extortion artists. You are despicable and I will remember to avoid flying your not so friendly skies in future."
