When I arrived at the gate for our flight we were told Alaska had a new policy that started 6/4 (we were flying on 6/7) that only allowed a much smaller size carry-on. If suitcases didn’t fit the new smaller size rules one had to pay $25 and check it. We have three people flying round trip - that would add $150 to our total. I shopped carefully for low fares. Many people on the flight had to pay at the gate. Not cool Alaska."

Cons: "The FLIGHT!!!!! There were delays. Scheduled take of time was 6:59 PM. We took off at 735 PM. Once I was on the plane, I started kicking myself in the you know what because I knew immediately I was scammed. I had purchased a 1st Class ticket for $400+, only to find that my comfort would be the equivalent of that if I purchased a ticket in economy. My long legs would still be cramped. For the past few years, I have been purchasing 1st class for it's spaciousness. On this flight, on the RCJ700, I did not fly comfortably. The space was very tight, and I was able to stretch my legs as if I sat in economy. This was by far, my most uncomfortable flight ever. SMH; A WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!"

The seat was ok, but I found the pillows to be very small and flat. I needed multiple pillows. The head rest was not adjustable, so I also found this to be uncomfortable. Usually when I fly AA, the headrest is adjustable. My final dislike was that the beverage selection was limited. I'm quite sure there was plenty of alcohol, but what about those customers who do not drink alcoholic beverages? I asked for hot chocolate, there was none. I asked for hot tea with honey, there wasn't any. So all in all my flight was okay, but that is solely because of the flight attendant and pilot. They did their jobs and they did an excellent job."

I didn't like that my flight time was changed more than 15 times with no reason why until boarding time. I didn't like the fact that I did not get a seat assignment until boarding the plane. I didn't like the fact that they couldn't manage to scramble another plane and crew, but instead forced us to wait over four hours for one that was stuck somewhere else in the country."

Thank goodness for their app as i was able to.change my flight with the My Delta app. Also they had overbooked the flight and rather than giving assurance to people just told us to wait and "line up orderly"."

Cons: "I paid for the upgrade to Delta Comfort Plus for an aisle seat & for some reason they reassigned our seats and I got Putin a middle seat. It was not what I paid for and it was very uncomfortable. If people pay to upgrade to specific seats we should. It be reassigned to whatever seat they want to put us in."

Cons: "The airline "randomly" selected me for extra security. Even though I have TSA pre-check I was jostled around, sent to multiple security lines without any reasoning and the local Chicago TSA and airport staff didn't seem to know what to do. Once it was figured out I was subjected to what was essentially a cavity search. Again I HAVE TSA-pre-check but apparently that means nothing if an airline flags you. It was an extremely upsetting experience but you were in a situation of either agree to the invasive search or get stranded over 1000 miles from home. I will NEVER fly Iberia again after a cancelled flight and being stranded in the wrong country on the way to my vacation and the horrible security experience on the way back. I seriously may never go to Chicago either after seeing the complete lack of organization and traumatizing personal invasion. I fly a lot for work and have never had such a horrible experience. I would really like to know how many terrorists are caught with these invasive searches and would love to know the justification for sticking your hands inside someone's pants and grabbing their privates after they have already gone through a metal detector AND the body scanner. Especially for someone who has already passed a federal background check to obtain pre-check status. Absolutely ridiculous."

NO BACKUP CAPTAINS or 1st OFFICERS AT LAX? Then miraculously during our 3rd hour waiting for a Captain they discovered the 1st Officer was going to time out. So, rather than KNOW this while searching for a Captain, they waited for 3 hours and then had to find a 1st Officer to fill in. Result 2.5 more hours of delay. Even the Flight crew was in disbelief on this one. I think we should all get reimbursed and triple miles for this snafu. Not weather or mechanical - just poorly managed time -- BY A MAJOR AIRLINE - INEXCUSABLE!"

I had chose the pasta with vegetables, and it was macaroni and cheese with broccoli. And not good macaroni, but more like the kind you make for your kids."

Cons: "The airplane was outdated. It did not have personal entertainment suites at each seat. I haven't flown across the ocean without being able to choose my own movie in 3 years. Also, because of the outdated entertainment suite, the headphone jack is located in the armrest to the side instead of in the seat back in front of you. This caused me to bend my 3.5mm headphone connection at one point while I was moving my leg, because the connection jack is located below thigh level. The temperature was unbearable, and could not be controlled by the flight crew. Dressed for winter weather and roasted for the entire flight. I actually was dehydrated when we landed because I was sweating for 7 hours crossing the ocean."

What was a shock was that water was dripping from the top side track onto his lap and he had to use the provided brochures to redirect the dripping water. The steward said it was condensation and that was it. Also, since it was next to bathroom, the smell wasn't great and the small child screaming while waiting to get into the bathroom wasn't pleasant."

Pros: "Flight was smooth and on board crew was nice and helpful. Flight attendant noticed I came on with a cane and offered to have a wheelchair ride available in the SF airport. Reminding me that it was a large airport. I declined, but she encouraged me to try it and I agreed. She was concerned and very helpful."
Cons: "The plane was a small plane and we had to disembark on the tarmac. There were two attendants with wheelchairs but they didn't have my name so I walked on. The flight attendant called to me and said to wait. One of the attendants came up with a wheelchair and said he would take me. Unfortunately, a steep ramp had to be used to get into the airport building. He asked another worker to help him and all the way up the ramp I had to listen to comments about "good thing they had eaten their Wheaties" and "they were getting a good workout." I know that I am not a small person, but these ongoing comments were rude and insulting. When we got into the gate the attendant told me that he didn't have my name on his list and had to call for permission to take me through the airport. I waited and he came back and said he couldn't take me, but if I could wait someone else could come for me. I had waited enough already and suffered their rude comments, so I said no thanks and walked slowly through the airport. This experience has left me with a bad feeling for the airline and its personnel. I believe their staff could use sensitivity training at the very least!"

I spent 10 hours in the Newark airport where, even though charging stations were in abundance, wifi was non-functioning. I received 7 text messages, each one with new departure times. I appreciated the texts, but would have liked to have more information about why we were delayed. Communication from gate agents can go such a long way. I spent a ton of money on bad airport food and couldn't work due to the lack of wifi. I never understand why nothing is offered to passengers in return for such delays--whatever happened to food vouchers, etc.?"

Though she was very helpful I feel it was luck and the nature of using a small airport, not something I can expect. Either way I shouldn't have to explain and insist when it was clearly the airline's mistake. When I later checked my email I actually had never recieved a cancellation email, just an email saying cancellation was possible. Overall another bad experience with United. Flew American Airlines and was happy with the flight."

At the gate before boarding there's another huge line because again one staff memeber checks for boarding pass, another checks passport, another one goes through bags and then check in to board plane. Have to buy any food you want to consume, not even water for free."

Cons: "It was extremely difficult to check in online. They force you to set up an account. Don't try to do it from your phone because it's even worse. You must pay $40 for a carry-on and they say $31 for a checked bag but that's a lie, they still will charge you $40. They inundate you with offers and even try to charge you to pick a seat. They don't page passengers for a final boarding call. They boarded and left the gate early leaving 10 passengers stranded. They never put our bags on the flight and told us to pick them up at baggage claim but charged us anyway for the checked bags. They were rude, ignorant and unprofessional. We were told so many different stories about rebooking and credits that we just rebooked completely with Southwest."

Cons: "Primarily the pricing is deceptive because things that included in the ticket price on most major airlines (e.g., 1 carry-on bag, a seat on the plane, soft drinks) must be paid for after buying the ticket. Fees just for a carry-on bag and selecting a seat on the plane added up to nearly $130 over the advertised ticket, and would have been more had I not checked in before leaving for the airport."

Cons: "Seat backs didn't recline. Tray tables were tiny and barely functional. Crew members did promotional pitches for credit card applkications first over the PA system and then down the aisle awarding 5000 miles to a random seat and then pitching 2500 miles for filling out a credit card application form. Spirit certainly had the cheaper fare but by the time we paid for one bag both ways it was barely competitive. We won't be flying them again."

We had to pay for carry-on and baggage stored. We had to pay for every drop of drink or food. I could have taken a more expensive airline and been comfortable. The baggage costs were 400 dollars for one small bag for each of us, we can't go a week end without a change of cloths. I have never seen anything like it. Live an learn."

Pros: "I'm sorry I can't think of something memorable to say I liked. The plane was somewhat newer and the stripped down seats weren't completely uncomfortable like we expected. This flight crew performing the pre-flight weren't annoyingly sassy and jaded as the ones on 1st leg of the trip."
Cons: "Out going flight we were charged $55 for 1st carry on bag besides personal carry-on. The return flight it was announced that that item had no additional fee. Who do I contact for refund? Extra fee ate any savings and we already packed light like hobos. Tray table was too small to support my reading material (5" by 12"). Just prior to landing there was some motor/hydraulic device that made a very loud annoying noise like a kazoo drowning out sound of fussy babies/children. The sound lasted about 15-20min; even 10min after landing. As an industrial mechanic, I know what those sounds can mean and it gave me the impression the plane wasn't in good mechanical shape. We didn't know that the low cost meant that all comfort and amenities would be cut too. Our experience will be a large factor in choosing airline for future travel."
