Pros: "Friendly flight attendants."
Cons: "The interior of the plane is old and there is no legroom at all, to the point where if you drop something, good luck bending over far enough to pick it up. Also there are much better entertainment options on other airlines."

Cons: "On board Mask enforcement - was not done. The video controller buttons were on the arm rest. This presented a challenge to actually USE the arm rest for myself and my seat mates - we were constantly and inadvertently turning the monitor on."

Cons: "There is no food to offer unless you pay for it when you are asked. I got a bag of chips that isually goes for 1.99 at the store but they sell it for 4.99. They only give you 2 cookies and a drink for a 5 hour flight. The entertaiment was not present for 98% of the flight even when it says that wifi is available and to choose the movies or shows from their website. There's no disclaimer saying wifi does not work over the sea which was thru almost the entire flight. When you could finally connect to it, it wouldn't load. Most airplanes have an entertainment system in the back of the seat even for less than 3 hour flights but not on this one. Very disappointing."

Take off took a long time. I was seated at the back row, aisle seat when there were plenty of other seats available; had to hold the lavatory door so it wouldn't open because it was broken and it stinked a lot. Horrible experience."

Pros: "I had requested boarding assistance for my husband who has difficulty walking at the present time. I could not believe how attentive everyone was. A wheel chair and attendant were waiting for him in Cancun and in Newark. We were wheeled through customs and to baggage claim. The attendants did not leave us until we were at the door ready to exit the airport. We could not have been treated any better. Looking forward to next week's hip replacement and future travels with United."

Cons: "When experiencing turbulence, the flight attendant came over the speaker and requested everyone to be seated with their seat belts fastened. A few moments later she came back on reprimanding that "THIS IS NOT A JOKE YOU NEED TO SIT DOWN WITH YOUR SEAT BELTS FASTENED" which was still ok. The third announcement was the one I felt was highly inappropriate when she then stated "I DONT KNOW IF YOUVE BEEN WATCHING THE NEWS LATELY, BUT THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE TURBULANCE IS GOING TO GET WORSE" frankly I have been watching the news lately and there is plane CRASHES on the news. My husband is afraid of flying and that announcement was terrifying, even for someone who is not afraid to fly. There has to be some sort of protocol of verbage to use when the turbulance is getting bad, because to insinuate the plane could crash to get your point across is crossing the line. I have been on planes where the turbulance is a lot worse and felt this was really out of line."

Pros: "On-time departure from Cancun but early arrival in Denver (relatively mild jet stream?). Otherwise, fairly typical United cattle carrier."

Cons: "That the plane needed to be changed due to something being wrong with it. On our flight from cancun, Mexico to SFO we had to stop in Houston to change planes. One of the guys working at the security check point was very mean, raising his voice to people, grabbing their and also my stuff out of their hands, some of my stuff fell on the floor and got stuck in the rolling thingies. I hope I found all of it, not sure. I'm not sure how this happened, shouldn't planes be checked thoroughly before heading out!?!? Cons: "Delayed 1hr45m from CUN to CHI 1hr was on the tarmac (really?). Had last seats that don't recline. On the way down we were first class and the processed chicken with rice was bad, also delayed an hour from ORD to MEX. TV did not work in economy, none in first. No power outlets in either flight. Maybe I'm done with united?"

Pros: "My mother was injured and their help getting us back was incredible. We are gluten and dairy free and there was only one option if food for us. The drinks are all high fructose corn syrup with artificial ingredients though."
Cons: "Quality of ingredients and brand options are limited to junk corporations like Pepsi Coca Cola. Would like to see more options for organic. Also, the seats suck. The neck rest is over stated and forced my head forward and down with no ability to find comfort. Makes for horrible posture."

Cons: "Plane got pretty warm and didn't cool down much during the flight. In-flight entertainment was poor; DirecTV was the only option and I believe there were some issues due to not being over US soil upon departure."

Cons: "Everything costs money now. All the screens were worthless since it cost money to watch anything (including the flight map and how long until we reached our destination.) The Internet was useless unless you really wanted to pay $3 to surf the Internet or get your emails. Forget streaming video since they wanted you to absolutely pay the $8 more for DirectTV."

Cons: "MY SEAT WAS CHANGED WITHOUT EVEN ASKING ME The flight was 3 hrs delayed There was crying babies on board so I couldn't even get some rest"

Cons: "on the way there we had TV. On the way back we had to take a different route (which added more time for the trip)and we did have a TV on the head rest or even movie showing. Also one snack that has three crackers isn't worth handing out. It would be nice to be able to enjoy the snack."

Cons: "there was an open seat next to my boyfriend and i, we thought we would have a little extra space on the flight since the seat wasn't taken. but the flight attended moves a passenger next to us without notifying us prior or even asking if it's okay, or ask that we scoot down so that we can at least have the window seat. would've been nice to have the window to lean on.. we felt like she could have said something to us. she was very rude."

Pros: "The evening before our return to US from our vacation in Mexico, my husband lost his passport. The Cancun airport crew, including Paz and Raphael, worked with US consulate (on a day they are typically closed) to get permission for him to board the return flight. Otherwise, we would have had to stay two more days ( until monday) to go to the consulate. THANK YOU, United!"

Cons: "Waited for 3 hours for the flight to finally be cancelled, then waited another hour for a van to arrive. It's only a 2-1/2 hr drive to begin with! This is the 2nd time of 4 I've booked this flight that it's been cancelled. Doubt I'll ever book again."

Pros: "I liked that they made it to my destination on time."
Cons: "Everything costs money on top of the tickets I purchased. To compete with other airlines they are going to have to start including food, baggage, and entertainment for free especially on international flights."

Cons: "Our luggage was rummaged through and jewelry was missing from inside the checked luggage!!!!!! Not to mention the fees for traveling with a regular piece of luggage that was well within the weight limits. SOME of the crew was rude (the guy was polite). They sell everything meals, entertainment, etc on board it is already pricey to fly and I guess it includes nothing but your right to sit and breathe. . The plane was cramped and there was trash by my seat probably from a previous flight. Also, I did not get to sit by my travel companion."

Pros: "It is apparent that United is working to improve their customer service and efficiency - factors which have deterred me from using United in the past. FROM SFO TO CANCUN: First of all, the check-in procedure is very quick these days. At SFO, there is a curb-side check in, which also allows customers to pay the baggage fee and drop off the bag right there. I've used this in the past during busy airport hours. This time, I flew overnight, so I used the self-check kiosks in front of the check-in counters to check-in, pay the baggage fee, and print my ticket. I used the check-in line to check in my suitcase. The line was so minimal and moved so quickly, (as did security), I was at the gate in 30 min (from the SFO BART station). I rarely fly United because the check-in lines used to be very long and slow. In the past, I've missed more than one flight due to extraordinarily long check-in lines. I'm glad to see on the last 3 flights I've taken with United, this has changed for the better. FROM CANCUN TO SFO: I was happy to see that Cancún also has kiosks for self-check-in. It wouldn't allow me to check my bag, though, and I had to wait in a slow line to do so. Still, a much improved check-in compared to past experiences. *I should note: the slow line had 8 people in it and took 25 minutes. With many people, United Cancun lines have been known to take over 2 hrs. This was a Thursday afternoon on January 8. I'm not sure what the line would have looked like the Saturday before . . . BOTH FLIGHTS: The stewardesses did come by several times (as opposed to once on other airlines), offering water, which was appreciated. Finally, United tends to offer multiple flights at cheaper prices and more convenient times than other airlines. However, I still prefer flying other airlines - despite the increased cost - for the reasons below."
Cons: "United planes are older, outdated, and very small. The video system on the back of the headrest in front of me did not work on either flight (there or back), and no snack of any kind was offered on the afternoon 4.5 hr flight back from Cancun to SFO. A mini bag of salted peanuts were offered on the overnight flight from SFO to Cancun. But these were the least of my concerns. Deplaning was slow and long when we arrived at Cancun. We waited with the plane door closed, and the air off, for about 10 minutes. It was a hot, humid, uncomfortable wait. Deplaning took a long time due to the small, cramped seats (see description below). On the return flight to SFO, we waited on the runway in line with other planes. While this is not the fault of United, it did make passengers more anxious to deplane. Opening the plane doors took a long time, and exiting the plane even longer because people were slow getting out of their seats and recovering their bags from the storage bins. I saw people struggling to crab-walk out to the isle on "dead legs" (the floor space between seats is so minimal, no one can stand up straight, and must grab the seat in front of him/her to shuffle out to the isle - a difficult task for the elderly, or when carrying purses as big as carry-ons, sleeping toddlers, or babies). The seats were extraordinarily hard and small on both flights. I fit in the seat just fine, but had no leg space, and could not recline. In effect, I was forced to fly the entire time in an upright position, sitting on a rock-hard seat that felt like thin plastic-leather stretched over metal bars. I'm a young 40yr old traveler of normal size (5'4") and health (135 lbs), yet it was extremely uncomfortable sitting on that seat with no way to redistribute weight. I had pain in my legs for over 24 hrs after flying United from Cancun to SFO. I flew 6 round trips to Miami and Mexico City last year from SFO and never had this happen. I've flown to Peru and Miami direct - and much more comfortably - on other airlines. I will not choose a direct flight over 2 hrs on United again, and will continue to choose other airlines whenever possible."
