Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The Captain was courteous and the flight itself was good."
Cons: "There was a barking dog on the flight that was very high pitched. The stewardess was not polite, kept repeating herself and her voice was like the teacher you never wanted to have. The WiFi did not work. We had to wait for a gate approximately 30 minutes when we reached DFW."
Cons: "Early morning flight. Sat near front cabin. Could not sleep as crew was talking the entire flight."
Cons: "No food or beverage service while in COVID mood. Pilates and flight crews were inconsistent with using masks. However overhead announcements by AA constantly stated that face mask were required and that the could prevent you from traveling with AA."
Cons: "Too crowded for this isolation time also the guy across the aisle from me (about12 inches away) took off his mask as soon as he sat down and did not put it on until he got off. The flight attendant said NOTHING. You can do better."
Cons: "Less crowded."
Cons: "Better bathroom access for premium economy"
Cons: "2 1/2 hour delay; confusing messaging from staff about having to get a hotel because the delay caused us to miss our connection; but then we were told to hurry and get our connection anyway; there's no padding in the seats - very uncomfortable."
Pros: "Highly efficient crew."
Cons: "Charlotte airport needs to stop taking the protective cover off of my suitcase and I don’t get it back, this is the 2nd time that this has happened in Charlotte and it keeps costing me money to buy new covers and my suitcase becomes more damaged because they treat other’s belongings with no respect."
Cons: "Confusion over plane boarding"
Pros: "The seat wasn’t very comfortable"
Cons: "Commuter jet—no comfort. No jetway, we were on airplane stairs."
Pros: "Crew was great. Seats could be a bit wider"
Cons: "The man in the aisle seat was so obese he took room from the middle seat, which caused that person to lean into my seat. I spent three hours leaning to the right against the wall. If the airlines are going to make the seats smaller, they need to make arrangements for people who don’t fit in the seats. Entertainment didn’t work."
Cons: "To many delays."
Cons: "Flight delay at every single step of the way Crew was great though"
Cons: "Seat was uncomfortable, no entertainment, barely a snack. Sadness."
Cons: "There should be more number of check in bags for passengers. At the least the overhead bins should be allowed to the passengers."
Pros: "Great service and sweet attendants"
Cons: "Person next to me was a little large and it was uncomfortable."
Cons: "Delayed for mechanical."
Pros: "I loved the attitude and helpful approach of the female flight attendant working the AA gate for the flight I took from DFW to COS last night (6/13). Truthfully, it was almost like I was back with Southwest. She was kind, calm, polite, efficient, and capable. Very rare in my experience with American Airlines yesterday. Interacting with her was refreshing."
Cons: "Getting home to Colorado Springs at 11:30 PM, taxiing for 15-20 minutes, and then waiting another 20-30 for checked luggage! Never have I waited that long during and after a Southwest flight! AA could truly learn something from their more modest counterpart. I have all but decided to resume my drives to Denver every other week rather than risk more and more time and poor experiences with AA flying in-and-out of Colorado Springs."
Pros: "Automatic ticket rebooking"
Cons: "It being cancelled."
Pros: "New plane. Excellent service. Absolutely a delightful experience."
Pros: "Flight kept being pushed back multiple times. left about 3 hrs late. Then after boarding and waiting to take off, the pilot tells us a light came on the "dash" and he has to have maintenance come to check it. That takes another 30 plus minutes. Not a good start to the morning."
Cons: "Never finding out what happened to the our original plane that was supposed to have left in the morning."
Cons: "6hr flight with NO entertainment? Not acceptable."
Pros: "I found the crew to be nice and friendly and the breakfast was good."
Cons: "It seems like American Airlines has lived up to its reputation. More seats in a plane and less comfort. On top of that, the entertainment system has not been upgraded since the 70's. TV monitors in the middle and everyone has to watch the same thing. Of course, the sound system did not work for one entire side of the plane so I could only watch the movie and not hear it. If you are not going to have individual monitors for each seat, allow your passengers to what from their mobil devises like almost all other airlines are doing."
Pros: "Everyone was nice"
Cons: "No gluten free snacks. Flight was late"
Cons: "choice of meals"
Pros: "Great service"
Cons: "Movies selection"
Pros: "The food was good, the crew was very professional. The flight was on time. The seats were OK, but not conducive to sleeping."
Cons: "We weren't assigned seats together. It ultimately worked out OK because I was assigned to sit between a mother and her young child. They asked if they could have my middle seat so they could sit together - hurray! After that, the person in the aisle seat next to my husband was willing to swap her aisle seat for my new-found aisle seat. But on long flights, greater efforts should be made to seat couples together."
Pros: "Crew was wonderful - friendly and accommodating. Food excellent - very fresh. Cannot say enough kind things about the crew!!"
Cons: "Everything was excellent on this flight."
Pros: "Plane was not full so more space. Original seat whilst legroom was plentiful the aircraft hull made the seating experience cramped. Poor interior space design. Entertainment excellent helped me concentrate on work. Left late but made up time in the air given arrival time this was good."
Cons: "Food especially snack was absolutely dreadful. Cabin staff were polite but have done one too many transatlantic flights and the process whilst polite is a transaction. The customer is not special."
Cons: "No personal entertainment devices on 737-800."
Cons: "No space! Glad I was sitting next to family! Seats were tight...no leg room...long flight!"
Cons: "4 hours delay and a plane with no tv or any kind of entertainment."
Pros: "I liked that the internet connection was free because I am a T-Mobile customer."
Cons: "Boarding the plane was a bit clumsy. I felt like everyone was tripping over each other since the front of the plane was boarding first."
Pros: "We didn't crash."
Cons: "No safety briefing for infants, rude gate staff, primitive fleet, terrible customer service at all levels."
Pros: "I liked the ease of the gate for the airplane."
Cons: "There was no entertainment. The airline did not offer a complimentary headphones, and failr sure the wifi was not even working. Also was not that big of a fan with the extra long layover. Was not a fan of the extra time in the holding pattern above Indianapolis, nor the extra time 150 feet from the gate after we landed."
Pros: "Our flight from Rome to Chicago was on an airplane from the Flinstones. It creaked, no amenities, not just no wifi and fancy things, but no air nozzles at the seats!?"
Cons: "Horrible flight, paid extra for nicer seats, but the airplane was prehistoric"
Pros: "Arrives early Always on time Quick flight"
Cons: "Small plane No beverage service"
Pros: "Im still waiting to get on a plane..."
Cons: "Since TSA took so long I missed my flight by 5 minutes. Then I was put on standby. Ive been at the denver airport for 10 hours and the plane i was going to get on has mechanical problems so the flight is pushed back until 7am tomorrow. Ill have been at the denver airport for 26 hours and then i have to wait on standby again in Dallas. Who knows when I'll actually get home. American airlines is not even offeri6mg any vouchers or anything. Worst flight ever."
Cons: "Late departure. Seats were double booked. Had to delay again to sort it out."
Pros: "The flight was on time, and the crew was friendly."
Cons: "The boarding was very disorganized and took a long time, and there was no silverware on board, which I needed."
Cons: "It took so long for me to leave this airport. I got there around 11:30pm and my flight wasn't till around 9:45am the next day and so when it came to that time they had cancelled my flight so I got another ticked for around 2pm and they didn't board that flight till around 4:30. My experience there was to much to handle. I was supposed to get to Colorado Friday night but didn't even get here time Saturday afternoon. Really upsetted me because I leave wednsday so I don't have enough time to be with my boyfriend. I honestly don't think I'll be flying American Airlines again"
Pros: "The flight attendants were nice and the plane was on time."
Cons: "I tried to switch my flight to an earlier time. First, they charge $75 (Southwest is always free). Second, the gate agent charged me and let me board, but her boss came on the plane and pulled me off because I wasn't Executive Platinum status! The plane took off with an empty seat and I had to wait two more hours for the first flight. When I complained to AA about it, they sent me a $50 voucher. I don't plan on giving any business to AA for the rest of my life."
Pros: "I fell asleep on the trip so that was nice."
Cons: "The seats are pretty uncomfortable for tall people."
Pros: "Fast boardin times"
