Pros: "Accommodating a lot more than American Airlines."

Cons: "I had a flight with a connection starting at 6 PM on a Monday. At 5 AM the day of the flight I received notification that the first flight would be delayed, making connection impossible, I was prompted to select another flight to arrive to my destination. I chose a flight with a connection staring at 7 PM. Upon getting on the first flight we began to prepare for takeoff. After about 30 minutes the pilot notified us that we would be delayed 40 minutes because we had nowhere to land at my connection airport. I realized at that point that I would possibly miss my connection, which was scheduled at 10:20 PM. However, I did arrive at the connection airport around 9:40 PM which would have given just enough time to arrive at the connection gate. Unfortunately, upon arrival to the connection airport the pilot informed us that we would have no gate to de-board the plane. The pilot stated that all connections "were aware of our delay" and gave us the gates for each connection. I got off the plane at 10:15 PM and ran to my connection gate arriving exactly at 10:20. The gate attendants informed me that my flight had left, my bags were on the way to my destination city and that I would need to spend the night in the connection city. The attendants, appeared disinterested and impolite but upon prompting provided us with a hotel voucher for the night. The next day we arrived at the airport 2 hours before boarding and waited at the gate. When it was near the time for departure we were informed that the plane had been downgraded and requests were made for some to give up their seats for a later flight or check carryon bags to make room for other passengers. While some lined up to give up their seats and bags, those who chose to remain on the original flight were forced to wait before boarding the plane. We were then told that we would have to wait until the pilot and crew arrived before boarding. Scheduled departure time was 5:46 PM but the time got pushed back until we boarded around 6:30, departure was rescheduled to 6:50 PM. We boarded the plane and waited for departure but a few minutes later the pilot informed us that "he just got here" and that there were mechanical problems that would cause further delay. After an hour we were informed that the plane was not able to fly and instructed to go to another gate for another plane. Departure time got rescheduled to 8:30 PM. The plane departed after 9 PM and arrived at 10:30 PM for a 5:46 PM scheduled departure."

We left the gat late, then pilot said we would still be arriving half an hour early. We arrived about 45 minutes late, and that was a problem because our connecting flight was due to depart now in 15 minutes. Lightning forced the airport to shutdown, which was great, we had a chance to catch our flight, but we were stuck in the airplane, and we couldn't get to our gate until the all-clear. I know this is not Delta's fault, but they did arrive quite late on a flight that, according to them, would be early. They also never communicated to the other flight that there were several passengers catching that connection. So by the time we had ran to catch our connection they had closed the ramp. Lightning hit again, and they shutdown the airport once again, so the airplane was still at the gate for about an hour, and they did not allow the 20+ passengers to board that plane, which was right there. So frustrating. The only thing that saved it was that our new flight was the new airbus, and although it left an hour and a half later, the comfort level was phenomenal."

When we checked in - they asked us to both check in our carry on luggage. The reason why is because they said they don’t think they have enough space for our carry ons. I told the crew member checking us in that other people that was checking in with the same hand carry size luggage with us had no problems taking it with them. For being about to be on a 17 HOUR FLIGHT we should be ALLOWED to have our carry ons with us! We take carry ons for that reason! I had to argue and prove my case to the crew member to atleast keep 1 carry on with us. I thought that was an UNACCEPTABLE reason for us to check in a carry on luggage when we had a 17 hour travel time ahead of us. Not a happy costumer here."

On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"

It's unnecessary to describe what I felt until the plane took off. They apologize constantly, but do nothing practical. a bae company. no me nor my freinds/family will go with KLM"

The crew should have anticipated better that the technical problem would at least take one hour and give everyone a drink at least."

Pros: "Service was much better than on the flight from MIA to CDG 3 weeks before - that was very poor. Entertainment was excellent - great selection of movies. Premium Economy was definitely worth the upgrade cost."
Cons: "Boarding was a complete debacle - no control over who went where. Sky Priority line was full of 50 people who weren't Sky Priority, and there was only one person checking passports. The two people at the desk didn't care when I noted this. We were called to the desk in advance of boarding to check passport information. When we got to the check in line, we were taken aside for more passport checking, even though we are US citizens with Trusted Traveler status in the GOES program. We were one of the first people at the departure lounge, and one of the the last to board."

Pros: "The flight crew was excellent. My husband and I flew economy and I saw the crew keep passengers well fed (several meals and snacks) and were attentive to everyone's needs and all done with a smile. I thought the hot towels for cleansing our hands before meals was a very nice touch!"

Pros: "Seats were comfortable, but the sliding action, instead of recline, took getting used to. Food was very good. Snacks available on demand, along with drinks. Complimentary wine with meal was also quite good. Entertainment system was first rate with plenty of options for TV. movies, music, games, etc..."
Cons: "Sitting in the middle two seats in the center of the 777 left me stuck for most of the flight. Got up only once. Wife's feet and ankles were swollen by the end of the flight. Not enough legroom to move much during the flight and not enough aisle space to get around with the plane so full. Have made flights twice as long on the 747 and were able to get up and walk."

Pros: "Movie selection was awesome! Food was good too."
Cons: "Too many interruptions. Every time there's an announcement, it interrupts the movies and some of the announcements were completely unnecessary and there were so many of them, it was like constant interruptions, really annoying."

Cons: "Poor communication. Did not know was airfrance the booking was completed with Austria airline. In the ticket was not the information. Also, airfrance could not find me in their systems I was late to board the plane. Terrible messy and confusing time for me."

Cons: "Couldn't adjust the seat and the cushion wasn't comfortable neither seat or back. The bottom back was like a board across the bottom and hurts."

Pros: "Boarded 45 minutes late, and then sat in the plane for another two hours before take off due to a problem with the lie computer. Would have been better to spend that time in the terminal and given credits to buy food, etc. My seat was a regular seat (non exit) and the seat did not recline properly, the USB drive was broken, overall the plane felt unmaintained. The crew was friendly and food was good but I felt not enough was done to accommodate the extra hours we had to wait on the plane."

Cons: "Didn’t realize I was going to be charged $65.00 per suitcase. Checked three and that added$195.00 to my overall cost. The only thing we got on board was water everything else was a charge."

Cons: "It was very warm on the plane for the 6+ hours of flying, making it difficult to sleep or be comfortable."

Cons: "The first leg of our Iceland Air fight was delayed, but they didn't update the departure time until after it was obvious that the plane wasn't going to be there on time. So we hurried to the gate only to wait nearly an hour. I wish they had updated the departure time earlier."

Pros: "I like the short trip from Chicago to Oslo, it is the shortest trips out of all the airlines. Staff is sweet and helpful, seats comfortable, and prices are reasonable."
Cons: "I usually travel with airlines that serve dinner and a breakfast. Iceland air is the only one I have experienced not doing that. Entertainment is a little more sparse than other airlines, often I get the same movies and tv series episodes on my way back from my trip as I had going there."

Cons: "The first leg Chicago to Iceland was uncomfortable due to the seats for some reason. From Iceland to London seats were much more comfortable. Iceland employees are the most friendly and helpful airline people I have ever dealt with."

Pros: "The crew was very friendly and out going. They gave excellent service."
Cons: "Give better updates if flight is delayed and speak more loudly when making announcement in the airport. It was difficult to hear their announcement."

Pros: "Everything was on time and no hassle with boarding passes luggage and boarding. I liked that there were 2 exits in Iceland. All staff that we encountered were awesome. Overall a good flight. Loved the entertainment options. Liked getting the water bottle when we boarded and the blanket and pillow."
Cons: "I was expecting a bigger plane and seats for overseas travel. I was surprised when the plane was same size and capacity that I fly within the continental US. I could not fit my usual carry on bag under the seat in front of me and I can always fit that under on other flights I’ve been on. I felt the seats were really tight which made it difficult to sleep. Sleeping on the plane is necessary when traveling internationally."

Pros: "Flight was fine. We fly economy and we know what to expect; all was fine."
Cons: "The late departure was not an issue for us; however the flight information board was poorly updated. Since we were connecting to a second Iceland Air flight, a nonissue. However those connecting to another airline with limited time would have been rightfully frustrated."

Pros: "The crew was extremely friendly and helpful, and flight staff were timely and there was good communication."
Cons: "I assumed an evening international flight would serve dinner, so it was disappointing that this wasn't the case. I wasn't able to enjoy the entertainment because I brought Bluetooth headphones instead of ones that plug in, and none of the movies or TV shows had subtitles."

Cons: "The plane was only a 757, so smaller and more cramped. No food was served despite it being a 6+ hour flight. The screen in front of my seat did not work, but would not shut off. The seat next to me the headphones jack did not work. We were also late taking off and landing, making our connection very tight"

Cons: "Since my first int'l flight in 1980 I have never had one on which there was no food - no food - offered as a gratuity. I received 2 cups of water and asked for a cup of coffee. Aside from the food issue, this practice risks passengers' dehydration. No headphones offered, no pillows. Plane late departing from Reyjavik to Paris. Cramped airport. No place to sit other than the floor and on radiators."

Pros: "The crew and check in were easy and fast in CHI. The flight was just fine - be ready for Icelandic first then English - fun experience for sure! The detailed information they gave about what to do about our next flight in Reykjavik was helpful and proactive. One stewardess on the flight even gave my wife a whole extra large bottle of water and said, "Anything for the new mother!" Good customer service and sensitivity."

Cons: "The only thing offered was one drink and this was an international flight. The flight was delayed which resulted in us arriving only fifteen minutes before boarding our next flight which was also delayed. You had to pay for internet unless in their premier club."

Cons: "Business class seats in Row 1 were AWFUL! No leg room and no foot rests. The most cramped and uncomfortable transatlantic flight we hsve ever taken. We had chosen tso seats in row 3 or 4 when we booked this flight months ago. But when we got our bosrding passes, our seats had been changed to row 1. We got off the plane in Reykjavik barely able to walk. The airport layout in Reykjavik where we changed planes was not well thought-out ... almost no signs,long lines. We thought ee would miss the flight to Stockholm. That flight was OK; we had better seats. But we were--and still are--so upset about the Chicago to Reykjavik flight that I will not fly again on Icelandic."

Pros: "The flight was very comfy. Icelandair has large planes that don't feel at all cramped even in economy. The flight staff was very friendly and helpful. Keeping everything near and orderly. Made for a great flight."
Cons: "Only thing is we ran a little behind and the left my suitcase in Reykjavik. So I arrived to Zurich with only the clothes on my back and 1 change of clothes in my carryon. hoping for the airline to deliver it soon. The Zurich airport was quite helpful in making me a lost bag report and giving me a tracking number and even looking up where my bag was."

Pros: "This was probably the worst flight I have ever been on (and I have flown internationally a lot - and travel weekly for work purposes Icelandair - hands you a bottle of water and you never see the flight attendant again - this for a 6 hour flight!!!!!! the plane was extremely hot there was no communication to tell people what was going on, that we were late, agents to help - etc etc - nothing needless to say - I will never fly Icelandair again others were worse then us - some had no flight to be redirected too - and side note - the customer service counter at Birmingham - had NO ONE there for over an hour - they had to finally call someone to come down and help the many people there"
Cons: "Icelandair was delayed out of Chicago - but the agent stated our flight would be fine - we would only be arriving 15 min late - and even so - they would "hold" the flight" . We arrived and ran to the gate- people were still boarding - gate was open and the agent said to us and others - oh you are the Chicago people - you have to go to customer service. We find out we have been "bumped" off the flight and placed on a new flight 2 hours later with a non direct flight - we have to go through Birmingham now. We are delayed again out of Iceland and get into Birmingham 1 hour late. We were never told that we had to reclaim our luggage. When we preceded to reclaim our luggage - there was NO luggage. and spent over an hours looking for it Icelandair never put our bags on the plane - and stated they would go on flights sometime the next day - we still have no word"

Cons: "Delayed boarding. We left an hour late which resulted in a sprint through Reykjavik and missing luggage when i arrived at my final destination."

Pros: "The flight themselves were fine. Crew and planes were all up to par"
Cons: "The layover in Iceland was very tough for me. our the first leg of our journey has been delayed which is fine those things happen the airline had auto rebooked us as we were going to miss our second leg. However it wasn't until we attempted to board that new flight that we were told we needed new boarding passes as we had been rebooked again. We went and got our boarding passes and went to our gate to wait. We had been waiting there for maybe 15 minutes and became worried as no one standing around us was headed toward our destination and our flight was not on any television screens. I went back to the service desk and found out that there had been a gate change. We ran accross the airport and were nearly the last people in line for our next leg. Naturally our luggage did not follow us. We did receive our luggage a day later."

Pros: "I liked the seats, blankets, and pillows."
Cons: "The service was not good. No food was offered, everything was for purchase. Plus, only one beverage round on a 9 hour flight! We had to ask for water and it was given, but almost like well, OK, but don't bother me. Plus, our flight was delayed in Chicago, so we got to Iceland late. We made it to our connecting flight to Hamburg, but our luggage did not."

Pros: "Good entertainment (tablet, movies ), but it was the only good point"
Cons: "My second flight has been cancelled and replaced by an other flight 8 hours later. I as really annoyed but still I wanted to go out-of the city and visit a little bit. But in the end this flight has been so late that I haven't been able to do it... + no food in the plane (even though I was supposed to arrive in Paris at 1pm and I finally got there at 10.30 pm...)"
