Pros: The plane was really clean and they had lots of overhead storage.
Cons: It was too crowded and cramped and UNCOMFORTABLE and there was a REALLY LOUD kid that would not shut up and nothing was done about it.

Cons: On time take off would be nice

Cons: The Terminal in Chicago had no open amenities and overcrowded.

Pros: The plane is amazing and the crew was very nice and helpful
Cons: Everything was all good.

Cons: We didn’t even have a pilot, had to call and find one because our pilot that was scheduled “forgot to call in sick”. We were already delayed by 4 hrs so this made it delayed by an hour more!

Pros: Glad we made it back.
Cons: Flight could have been on time. Attendants in the airline could have communicated much better to give update on delay, but they did not give any information despite several times getting up to ask questions at the main check-in. Many of the passengers were very discouraged. Plane left nearly 2 hours late due to an unclear maintenance issue, paperwork and also no fuel put in the plane until all passengers we on board.

Cons: Change your fist class cabin. If we’re paying that much for a 4 hour flight we should be in a better cabin. The flight from Lax to O’Hare was great but the plane coming back is old and ragged

Pros: Fell asleep
Cons: Nothing

Pros: I like the ability to watch movies
Cons: The cabin was hot... air didn’t blow well... the crew was abrasive and rude. I asked simple questions and got long explanations for no reason

Pros: Crew was excellent especially the first class attendant very attentive and always checking on you
Cons: The food needs to be back to normal for first class and also baggage is very slow almost over 30 min wait

Pros: The aircraft was very clean, neat and well maintained. The crew was friendly. Process of checked-in luggage was seamless and straightforward.
Cons: I found the istructions on some restricted items to be confusing and contradictory between instructions at the airport, the AA website and the TSA website. The agent at the counter was well-informed, though, and it all ended up going well.

Pros: Great crew
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Everything was how should be
Cons: I like how you are now.

Pros: The fact that no one sat next to me believe me it was not a my choice there was just not a body to put in the seat
Cons: The staff was not friendly or say hello or goodbye

Cons: None of the USB outlets were working in isle 7 A-C

Cons: More comfortable seats you can sleep in

Cons: Leave a seat empty in the middle could be good for social distancing

Pros: Roomy, comfy seats. Thanks for the snack and bottle water provided during covid
Cons: Nothing really

Pros: The crew was fine, friendly enough, although I was incredibly disappointed that they didn't force people to wear their masks as they boarded. They also didn't enforce masks over noses--rendering masks useless.
Cons: The flight was completely full. And people weren't wearing masks as they boarded, and the flight attendants did nothing about that. Also, there was no distancing IN the airport during boarding. It's NOT DIFFICULT to put tape marks on the ground to ensure physical distancing. It is THEIR responsibility to make sure the process is safe, since half of the people seem to not care about distancing (or mask wearing). I'm incredibly disappointed and I will be flying Southwest for the time being: I hear they're better at enforcing distancing.

Cons: Plane had to land in a different city due to inclement weather. Very disorganized process, huge traveling setback, never got my travel voucher.

Cons: Made it a smaller flight. It was a lot of people on the plane! We could not practice social distancing

Pros: The crew were wonderful and understanding and good sports.
Cons: There were problems as soon as the plane got to the gate. After the passengers got off the plane, the man at the counter came on the P.A and said it’ll be a few minutes, they’re catering the plane now from the back to the front. The flight crew still needed to get on a preform safety checks. He apologized again. Then it was 8:40, time to take off and we’re still waiting to even board. The man at the counter said again, thank you for your patience and relayed the same message, only this time the flight attendants were walking away from the gate. Around 9 some lady higher up told the man to announce that the flight crew had timed out and stand by crew was on the way to the gate, said sorry again. A little later the man says sorry, there’s a gate change. You’re going to K6 now. When we get to the new gate it’s almost 9:30pm and while we were all gathered at the gate, the flight crew that supposedly “timed out” showed up and proceeded to get on the plane. Passengers started getting mad and saying we were lied to and to just tell us the truth. Chicago PD started showing up. We finally got on the plane but it would be another 30 minutes before we moved because of issues getting our bags off the original plane. We ended up being almost 2 hours delayed.

Pros: The crew serving the plane didn't look like they wanted to be there. Somewhat abrasive. The entertainment was poor and not very easy to access through your mobile, Iphone and Ipad. If you want to provide a better customer experience, equip all your planes with seats video screens. Passengers on a 4 to 5 hours flight don't want to have to figure out what do to watch a movie or TV. I don't fly American that often, but wanted to give it a try to see the difference between you and the other airlines. I have to say that on the return segment (ORD to SFO), I was not that impressed.
Cons: See above

Pros: The crew skipped me for breakfast and i had to ask for food.
Cons: The food was not very good. Bread rolls stale and inedible. The rest of the flight was good.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: The cliff notes of this debacle are, inbound flight arrived late to Montreal, I contacted AA social media team to make sure they could notify the gate of my connecting flight, they didn’t after they said they did. Flight arrived in Chicago a little early, I have to wait 15 min for my bags from the valet, I run to the next gate and arrive with 13 min to spare, the gate agent (not nice) goes I’m sorry we already closed the door. I’m like, huh? Then he has the gall to tell me, “well had someone called us we could of held your seat”. That’s when I lost it. Needless to say I’m now flying to Dayton and back to Dallas. That’s in lieu of a 3:50 PM flight TOMORROW!

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Waiting for 30 minutes a Dublin to dock.

Pros: Outbound, it was on time, plenty of legroom, plenty of good snacks, drinks and food. An enjoyable flight. Score 10.0
Cons: Return flight - The flight departed 4 hours late. The seating was so cramped my husband couldn't move his legs at all, never mind try to sleep. The staff members were not smart in appearance, some with long untidy hair, and did not interact with passengers except to hand out food. The food was reasonable. We disembarked feeling like wrecks. Score 2.0

Cons: Our last 6 flights have all been changed or delayed significantly. Then they loose our bags on a direct flight. Won’t fly America airlines again!

Cons: The flight was delayed. The food was not great. There is not a lot of space in these planes, and it was a long flight. There is no power supply.

Pros: Eventually, the actual flight was fine.
Cons: Initially delayed by 3hours (mechanical) which was American Eagle couldn’t get their “bucket of bolts” to Springfield, MO on time so we missed our flight out of Charlotte to Barcelona. Then we were rerouted through Chicago, but lost our first class seats and were bumped back to coach. This was after I had bought first class tickets for the entire trip only to be told 3 months before leaving that AA decided to switch planes on our domestic flight so there’s were no first class seats. THEN, in Chicago we tried to get first class seats on British Airways which would have been fine but After being sent to another terminal (after the bus to that terminal had stopped running) we were turned back because British Airways wouldn’t accept the boarding pass that AA had issued us. Now, having to go back to the first terminal to DISCUSS all this, we miss that flight and wind up stuck in Chicago for another 24 hours. Then, that flight was delayed by 3 hours, so we lost a day and a half of our vacation.

Pros: I got here.
Cons: Everything else. American cancelled my first flight from MSP to ORD. And when I got to Chicago, it cancelled my next flight to Nashville. The flight I managed to get on departed two hours late. There was no explanation for each of these cancellations/delays. There was virtually zero inclement weather anywhere, save for most of the country’s temperature being nearly equivalent to the surface of Neptune. And, the surly, clueless Chicago-based gate agent was the coupe de grace in my search for a reasonable explanation after which I waited impatiently for this episode to conclude. American get your act together.

Pros: Nothing!
Cons: I was traveling today with my daughter, who is 6 months pregnant, my 3 1/2 & 18 month old grandsons, my husband & son-in law on an international flight from Chicago to Manchester. I was very disappointed a 757 was used for an international flight! No attempt was made by staff to accomodate our family with a extra seat for the infant, even though there were a large number of rows with empty middle seats (4 of which were directly behind them!) The 1st indication of the beginning of the NIGHTMARE was when the plane arrived in Chicago and overshot the gate, this caused almost an hour delay! (We heard our crew saying "oops" while looking out the window at the plane arriving & then again when they were discussing it would have been faster if the plane had used a different method to get to the gate again.) This was then followed by a mechanical problem with a frozen water valve, requiring us to be de-iced x2! Then we started to taxi out and again had to return because of a hydraulic problem that required repair. I think we were delayed almost 3.5 hours. The crew did bring a round of water during the onground delays, and offered free drinks later in the flight. The icing on the cake was not getting the stroller back at the gate because there were no baggage handlers. I can't tell you how much FUN that was trying to corral a toddler & 3yr old with all our carry-on bags while getting thru customs! Did I mention in our haste to get off that plane we overlooked my daughter's winter maternity coat in the overhead! May be time to switch to the Friendlier Skies of United for our UK travel!

Cons: American completely missed the mark. AA did not successfully change our reservation when the initial leg of our trip was delayed by an hour due to a fuel issue, which caused us to miss your connection in Chicago. Since American partners with Alaskan Airlines, American should have changed my reservations with regards to Alaska Airlines, but they failed to do that. I stood at the Alaskan Airlines counter as the plane left the gate with our empty seats because there was not a ticket. American Airlines did not change a reservation successfully and so although we had boarding passes with our names and seats and the flight number, the plane left without us. I was stranded and Seattle airport at midnight with a child and an infant with one diaper and one bottle left and it was a terrible experience with American Airlines. I do not recommend flying American they cannot get it together when problems happen with delays.

Pros: The flight itself was fine
Cons: I bought the tickets together, but was informed at the ticket counter that i had only purchased tickets—not boarding passes. Boarding passes needed to be purchased by paying extra if my husband and I wanted to sit next to each other. I tried calling the customer service line through kayak and waited on hold for a long time with no indication of wait time. When the gate agent arrived, we asked and were moved to seats next to each other right away. The ticket agent at initial check in was very abrasive and non-solution oriented. if what she was saying was true— that we only paid for tickets and had to pay extra for boarding passes together— that was never made clear during the booking process. It’s unlikely I’ll use kayak again unless I know for sure what I’m buying.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: I chose a package on the cheap flights that has a left hand side for choosing number of baggage which invariably inreases fare depending on the number of baggage and i choose 2 and paid for 2 baggage but the ticket came with 1 baggage and i contacted both by phone call, email and your website but did not get any fsvourable response. Had to pay again at the airport for the extra bag. This is highly unfair.

Pros: The entertainment was good. Lots of choices. Food was about what I would expect for airline food.
Cons: The seats were terrible. I don't know what it was about them, but I've never had a more uncomfortable flight. My husband had leg cramps for much of the flight and couldn't get comfortable. The rest of the flight was fine, but the uncomfortable seats were a huge minus. We'll probably try to avoid 787s from now on. The window-darkening system was annoying. They darkened the windows when it was dark outside and they darkened the cabin, so we couldn't look out the window. It was dark outside--why the need to darken the windows?? My husband requests window seats so he can look out the window.

Pros: Flight was on time.

Pros: It was on time. Crew were very good.
Cons: Plane seemed very dated. No individual entertainment No USB chargers Not much space

Cons: The airline "randomly" selected me for extra security. Even though I have TSA pre-check I was jostled around, sent to multiple security lines without any reasoning and the local Chicago TSA and airport staff didn't seem to know what to do. Once it was figured out I was subjected to what was essentially a cavity search. Again I HAVE TSA-pre-check but apparently that means nothing if an airline flags you. It was an extremely upsetting experience but you were in a situation of either agree to the invasive search or get stranded over 1000 miles from home. I will NEVER fly Iberia again after a cancelled flight and being stranded in the wrong country on the way to my vacation and the horrible security experience on the way back. I seriously may never go to Chicago either after seeing the complete lack of organization and traumatizing personal invasion. I fly a lot for work and have never had such a horrible experience. I would really like to know how many terrorists are caught with these invasive searches and would love to know the justification for sticking your hands inside someone's pants and grabbing their privates after they have already gone through a metal detector AND the body scanner. Especially for someone who has already passed a federal background check to obtain pre-check status. Absolutely ridiculous.

Pros: Seats quite comfortable. Crew ok.
Cons: Pitiful food offering and no entertainment at all when on previous 1.5 hour AA flight choice of movies.

Pros: I have nothing good to say about the flight to LA or the flight back to Chicago from LA.
Cons: 3 of the 4 flights were late, and the 4th was canceled. The canceled flight was due to weather, but AA's response was to connect those of us stranded with a 3rd party vendor - Travelliance - with the promise of a SUBSTANTIAL discount for a hotel (SINCE THE NEXT FLIGHT I WAS GIVEN WAS 17 HOURS LATER!) - and there was, effectively, NO DISCOUNT. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with you over the years, but this was a bucker of water in the face. I'm sure I'll fly with you again, but any sort of good will I held for AA is gone.

Pros: we landed. flight was on time
Cons: Female flight attendants were rude. I think that if they would have smiled, their faces would have cracked. Even a complete stranger said to me, while waiting for the restroom, "I think that they hate us". One young male attendant was friendly and I believe that he was training. I fear for his training experience with this group of women. One of the lavatories was out of order {....on an international flight! Are you kidding!?!}. I think that they searched for the most antiquated plane that could limp across the ocean for this flight. Nine hours of pure discomfort. My poor 71 year old mother! Zero leg room. Tiny little screen for movies on the ceiling of the middle row. trays were not clean. We paid extra for our seats and wondered how bad the seats were for those that didn't. My mother and I determined that this was ranked as one of the worst flight experiences we have ever had. We are grateful for an amazing experience for our return flight or we would have reconsidered ever flying AA again.

Pros: The water was clean
Cons: Everything else! We were first sold a British airlines flight, and then we got switched to American Airlines. I don't know if that is actually an okay thing for them to do. When we got onto to plane we were stuck on the runway for over 2 1/2 hours, where the outside temperature was 95 degrees and the AC in the plane didn't work. The delay was all due to a mechanical difficulty with the engine, this did not give us peace of mind when flying over the atlantic. while up in the air my newly wedded wife and I were hoping maybe we could watch a movie to help keep our minds off the creaking of the wings, the pool of sweat from the delay, and the grumpy flight attendants. Seeing as it was a 9 hour international flight, you would have expected some sort of entertainment. Maybe a personal TV.... nope. Maybe a community TV... nope. At least they have to have a radio....... nope. All we got were our two thumbs to twiddle. After a much needed nap. We woke up hoping maybe for a hot breakfast, but to put the cherry on top of some terrible ice cream, we got a mediocre cold breakfast. All in all I will not fly American Airlines again. I would happily and quickly pay double for any other airlines but them. It's such a poor reprisentation of our country.

Cons: Dry / borderline rude staff and hostess. Dated plane. Tiny seats. But that is pretty much the baseline of airlines in the US. When will carriers start to take note from International carriers..leaps and bounds ahead.

Pros: We arrived on time.
Cons: I booked with British Airways and later noticed the plane was operated for American Airlines. The seats were cramped and the online entertainment was terrible. On an overseas flight, I expect in 2017 that there will be on-screen entertainment on the back of the seat in front of me. Instead, the movie was projected on a screen in the middle seats on an overhead that was about 10 rows away. Plus, you didn't get to pick your movie. You were stuck with the selections provided by the airline. I would have brought along my DVD player or laptop had I know this was going to happen. American flight crews are not as friendly and accommodating as European flight crews, which is why I try not to select an American carrier. Seats are less comfortable on American carriers also.

Cons: For this price its all pretty good

Pros: I already gave my comments
Cons: I already gave my comments

Pros: Good seats, staff was very welcoming and courteous.
Cons: Complimentary snacks.

Cons: Not to be late

Cons: Seriously There was zero social distancing. Ridiculous

Pros: Awful experience ..
Cons: More comfortable sits. Horribly lounging.

Cons: Spirit airlines kept hundreds of passengers waiting in line at the airport for up to two hours just to get our bags tagged. We still had to carry them over to the men who actually sorted and loaded our luggage. Other airlines print out our baggage tags at kiosks along with our boarding passes, so we can immediately apply them to out luggage ourselves and then hand them over to the loaders. If Spirit Airlines had that feature at least two-thirds of us would not have had to wait hours in line.

Pros: Ticket cost was low and the crew from Ohare to LAX was great
Cons: Our fault for not researching more but baggage fees were extremely high! My husband planned on saving $$$ and packed in a carryon but they wanted to charge him more to carry on than to check? I thought my weight allowance was 50 lbs (like most other airlines). It’s 40lbs otherwise they charge an extra $30!!!!! Not impressed. No complimentary food, snacks or meal on a 4 hr flight. Seats were cheap-didn’t even recline and not Much leg room. Bottom line: if you want a cheap uncomfortable airline go for it. Otherwise pay the little bit extra and go with a mainstream airline for more comfort and perks

Pros: Staff were actually nice on this flight. I boarded last so can’t complain.
Cons: No entertainment. No power outlets. No reclining seats. No legroom. No frills. Base fare. Pretty crappy as usual.

Pros: The snack selection on the flight and food package options were reasonably priced, and there were quite a few good options.
Cons: We arrived at the airport and were through security over an hour prior to our flight's takeoff. We decided to grab breakfast at a restaurant approximately 2-3 gates down from our gate. We arrived back at our gate 17 minutes prior to the departure time and the door to the entryway was already closed. No spirit attendants remained at the gate to assist or inform us about who we should speak to regarding this matter. We sat at the gate and watched our flight take over 15 minutes to pull away from entryway with no one available to direct us. After the plane pulled away, a few Spirit staff members came back out the door to the gate, and when we inquired as to why our names were not called throughout the airport (as we heard many other names called while sitting at the airport) they informed us we would have to talk to the customer service desk if we had an issue. We went to the customer service desk and they put us on another flight, which did not depart until late that day. We went to the customer service desks of 3 other airlines attempting to find a sooner flight, and when we explained Spirit closed the gates 17 minutes early, each airline stated that the industry standard is 10 minutes. Not only does Spirit not follow the industry standard, but they also shut the gates 2minutes prior to Spirit's standard which is 15 minutes before the flight. Additionally, no effort was made to call our names prior to the flight, as is customary with all airlines. Two days later, we went to board our return flight, which a week prior to our trip we paid $585 to change to that day, and when we went to check in we were not scheduled to be on that return flight. We showed proof of switching our flight and luckily the attendant was able to get us on that flight, however, we were extremely rushed getting through security and due to Spirit's mistake almost missed this flight as well. If no seats would have been available we would not have been able to get home despite paying to switch the flight a week in advanced. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience traveling with Spirit and would not recommend the airline to anyone. We are frequent travelers for both business and recreation and have never experienced such poor customer service.

Pros: On the plane, the seats were extremely comfortable, with a lot of leg room, even on the standard seats. Much more than on any flight I had flown with Southwest domestic. The staff was also a lot friendlier and generous. And there was plenty of room on the flight which made comfort affordable.
Cons: They announced that the flight was departing from a different gate, but it wasn't listed on their website and there was no way to verify it on any screens. The gate that they said the flight would be departing out of instead still had the destination on it for the previous flight. Then, after that flight departed, it showed the destination for the next flight scheduled to leave out of that gate, not the one I was on. So frankly, a lot of people were very confused on where they were supposed to be waiting. Especially since, there was boarding for a different flight at the first gate, and no screen showing the flight that was being boarded there. So it caused a lot of nervousness for a lot of us, not being sure where we were supposed to be and afraid we would miss our boarding call.

Pros: Not much
Cons: My first time flying with Spirit and it started off bad to begin with. First learned that you can't carry on a bag without a $55 per leg fee adding 50% more to the trip. We decided to check one bag instead at a cost of $40 per leg but then Spirit considers over 40 Lbs overweight instead of 50 like other airlines so another $30 for overweight per leg for an extra $140 for the trip. Then soft drinks are $3 everything costs more. I will say the flight crew did a great job when there was a heart attack on our flight and they attended to him with great care. Then our flight back was cancelled due to the Hurricane but no other airline had to cancel that far out from the hurricane actually hitting. It seems Spirit couldn't get flights to Chicago with nothing to do with Atlanta. In fact we ended up driving all the way back to Atlanta only to see Delta and other airlines landing at the airport 11 hours later. Only Spirit wouldn't fly in more than a day before it effected the area. They did at least refund most of my money. I'll just never fly them again.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The boarding procedure was absolute chaos. On two of my four flights this weekend, they had the wrong flight information posted on the screens at the gate. Nobody knew what gate was for what city. It seemed like the crew at O'hare didn't even know there was a Spirit flight scheduled because they didn't have a jetway for us. We had to wait for a ramp to be set up, walk across the tarmac, and up two flights of stairs into the terminal. Then on the way out, we had to do the same thing in reverse, even though our flight (heading for LGA) was listed as being four gates away. It turned out the flight at that gate was really going to Houston. The people who were going to Houston were waiting at a different gate until someone told the New York passengers to go to the gate with no jetway... Confused? Just imagine how confused the hundreds of people were who were trying to find their flights with all wrong information on the screens.

Pros: The Steward was the only nice person , the rest of the Airline check in staff were cruel, cold and unprofessional
Cons: Check in boarding staff, the insisted I pay for my carry on. I had a round trip ticket. I did not have to pay for my carry on on my first flight. They made me throw things away before they allowed my bag on the flight. I had to throw away shoes, I was so upset and confused I did not know what to do. I had no money since I just paid my rent. They didn't care. It was embarrassing. Now I need to save up for new shoes. They did not care about me and my situation. I flew home for my sisters wedding, I missed 4 days of work with no pay. My Mom had to budget for the and ticket because I couldn't . The staff is horrible at Ohare. The airlines apologized to my Mom via email. Told her I could have a $50 voucher, I can't afford another trip. What a joke! Nick M.

Pros: The price
Cons: The experience felt a bit chaotic and impersonal. It's a bit stressful to manage all the extra costs as well. I tend to enjoy flying but I mostly just wanted to get this experience over with. Spirit gets you from point A to point B, safely but there's nothing enjoyable about it. Also, on the flight back we waited on the runway almost 45 minutes for an open terminal. We were about 30 minutes early but that wouldn't explain the terminal opening up 15 mins after our expected arrival time. However, I don't know if this was Spirit's fault or the airport's.

Pros: The crew was friendly and informative and my seat was comfortable. I also received numerous updates regarding my delayed flight so I felt well-informed as to the situation.
Cons: My flight was delayed three hours. In spite of this lengthy delay, no complimentary food or drink was offered on the flight. I have experienced delayed flights prior to this and have found that the airline generally tries to make it up a little bit to the passengers by offering them some basic complimentary snacks and drinks, which I feel is a nice gesture. I was a little surprised that this was not offered with my delayed flight yesterday. The only available food and drink options were very pricey so I went without.

Cons: My flight was canceled with little notice, and the only option I was given by the airline was to try and find a seat on another flight back using their website. Well, nothing was available for several days, and I couldn't afford to miss that much work. Plus, Spirit's help line was totally unavailable. I ended up booking a last minute flight with Delta. Spirit later sent me a voucher for $50, but my ticket cost more than that, plus I had purchased extra baggage. That's still a loss of roughly $70. The voucher is also only good until July, and I have no flights planned any time in the near future where I could think about using it in time. You get what you pay for, and from now on I'll just be paying more for flights with airlines I can trust.

Cons: CANCELLED. NO Assistance with rebook. Refund and you are on your own. Found out later they were have a pilot strike. They didn't disclose that and should have, in my opinion. I had the same exact thing happen on my return flight. Cancelled. No assistance with rebook. Had they been honest and straight forward I could have made proper accomdations for my return flight home. Instead a got the screw job TWICE. I understand that it is not in their control of the pilot strike. But good service would disclose that information as to not cause additional problems. Spirit sucks. Everyone knows that. But they don't have to screw people over and more then already do

Pros: Punctuality.
Cons: Hostesses were loud and had the most horrible screeching voices I've ever heard.

Cons: I didn't like anything. Will never book with Kayak or spirit. My flight from Chicago to Minneapolis was cancelled and I have still not got my refund. Pathetic!

Cons: We were delayed for about three hours but there were no announcements or screens displaying that information. There was no indication that we were even at the correct gate. People had to walk up one at a time and ask to confirm what was happening and that we were all at the correct gate. Two hours after our flight was supposed to take off, there was finally an announcement letting us know that there was a delay and our gate would be changed so we needed to move out of the way so another flight could use the gate, but not to too far because they didn't know when or where our flight would be leaving from. It was chaotic and disorganized for no reason. I understand that delays happen but the lack of communication was unacceptable.

Pros: Airline Canceled the first leg and so never got to this flight
Cons: Airline cancelled the flight with zero understandable cause. And now out thousands to get home a day later than planned

Pros: Nothing
Cons: This was by far the worst experience I've ever had flying. Our flight out was cancelled but the website didn't reflect he change so we needlessly came to the airport. I'll never fly with spirit again and will recommend that my friends and family avoid it too. On the return trip, we felt manipulated by a series of difficult to understand rules and surprise pricing the entire time. The machine was broken at the check in but no one told us that would make us ineligible for check in pricing. Everyone was aggressively unhelpful and even rude at every turn.

Pros: Used Kayak to find cheap flights that fit our time frame. Spirit airlines proved to be a quick and reliable airline getting us to Chicago 15 mins early. When departing Chicago email notifications kept us up to date on possible delays of flight caused by weather conditions. I called Spirit customer service representative and changed my flight to avoid the worst of the weather. They were able to make the changes and honor the seating arrangements I had made for my family of five. Great experience!!

Pros: After getting through the gate, the boarding was simple.
Cons: No mobile ticketing at O'hare. Security noted that Spirit requires you go through their ticket kiosks/desk, despite sending a mobile QR code to go through it when going through mobile check-in (itself a serious pain due to a terrible website). Further, they don't advertise that the cost of the seat and carry-on negates any savings on the ticket price itself. I couldn't even get a simple cup of water from flight attendants ("bottled water only, $3 per"). I will never willingly purchase a flight from Spirit again.

Pros: The crew was always attentive and responsive.
Cons: It was very difficult to check in on line. it took me over one hour. Wanted to get my sits and when I took the option there was no sits to select even when paying for it. I checked my carry on and I kept having the offer to be part of the club to pay less for my carry on. I did not want to use the option but I keep being sent to that side. The same experience I had when tried to check in in my flight from Oakland to Chicago on Friday. since the web site did not let me check in I had to check in at the airport. There was an accident in the freeway and I ended up losing the flight from Oakland to Chicago because the website did not let me check in the night before. We arrived 45 minutes before the flight and they have the policy to check in 45 instead of 30 minutes before the fight like other airlines. We did not even get options or credit. We just had to buy another flight. It was a nightmare.

Cons: The flight is advertised as low priced, but at the cost of checking a small carry on for $50 each way. For $100 more for ticket we could've flown JetBlue with amenities like water and coffee and attentive professional flight attendants. The plane was extremely loud, and sounded as if the panels could be ripped right off during landing and takeoff. We shouldve just packed a backpack. I don't think I would ever fly this airline again because the overall feeling was that the equipment was rickety and unsafe. I guess Ive just become accustomed to professionalism and service on other airlines.

Pros: on time
Cons: The airline is overcharging! Before I left, I googled "spirit airlines baggage". I made sure that my personal bag and carry-on are within the required size. The website does not say that carry-on will be charged. At the counter, I was charged $55 for the carry-on. It is a light carry-on (I basically just had a sleeping bag). On the return flight, I protested for being charged for the carry-on because the website did not clearly say carry-on would be charged. The ladies at the desk then asked me to pay $100+ for my carry-on. $100+ is the price one would have to pay upon boarding without having paid for luggage. I ended up paying $65.00 for the carry-on because I did not pay for it at the check-in counter. I was flying to O'Hare earlier that day so there was no need for me to go outside to get the boarding pass and pay for the carry-on. Still I was asked to pay $65. With my air fare being just about $125, it is unbelievable that I had to pay $120 for a carry-on. I had heard of an NPR interview about the frugality of this airline and I am in favor of it. But it is deceiving to charge low airfiar only to get it back with charging excessively on the carry-on. If the carry-on has to be charged, they should clearly highlight it on the website so customers are alerted. In addition, it is also an unfair practice to other airlines. Had I known that I’d pay $200+ for the airfare to go on Spirit, I would have chosen a different airline. I plan to write to the Spirit and other agencies.

Cons: I booked my return flight the same day i booked my departure. I didn't recieve an email with my itinerary nor was i charged for the flight so i called the airline. After 30 minutes of my time wasted i was still on call waiting. The day before my return flight i panicked and bought a whole new ticket and then like 8 hours before muy flight i get an email asking if I'm ready for muy upcoming flight. I am completely disappointed with both kayak and spirit airlines. I WILL NEVER AGAIN BE BOOKING SPIRIT AIRLINES AGAIN!!

Pros: There wasn't anything I really liked about my trip on Spirit.
Cons: From the curbside to the gate you are on your own. No skycaps to take your bags at the curb even though you've already paid for bags. And even though you've already paid for bags you still have to stand in a long line at the counter to check in. This is my 3rd time flying with Spirit since 2011. I thought the first 2 trips having issues was a fluke but no, it seems fairly consistent that you will not leave on time, the staff will not be friendly and nothing is complimentary...even water! The seats are extremely small and there is no way to recline them. Some of their planes have advertisement pasted through the entire length of the cabin, the crew really pushed applying for their credit card, all snacks must be paid for I mean, the message is clear, profits first, customers are to be used to meet their goals. At the end of the day, customers are lured in by seemingly lower prices but it's all smoke and mirrors. When you're done with all of the a la cart items, the price is the same as all of the other airlines, with inferior service, in my opinion. I will not be flying with Spirit Airlines again. I will spend my money with airlines that value me as a customer first.

Pros: I did end up getting a partial refund.. But I did have to argue a little bit for it.
Cons: My flight was cancelled, due to weather? Other airlines flights around same time were not cancelled, although there were some delays. I'm not quite sure why my flight was cancelled. I recieved no email/call telling me about the cancellation. I looked online to check my flight status and found out by myself that it was cancelled. So I called in and waited for a representative to help me, who said the only thing they could do was move me to the next flight, which was the following day, 18 hours later from my original flight. After I decided that was way too late, i called back in to see if I could get an earlier flight instead, and was told I would have to pay a fee for changing my cancelled flight a second time, which is ridiculous. I eventually had to argue a little bit but ended up getting a partial refund of the round-trip ticket, as I am still going to use the return flight to come back. Overall, I really did not like having to find out myself about the cancelled flight, i did not like Spirit airlines' solution to the problem, I did not like that they wanted me to pay extra to change the cancelled flight, I did not like that they initially refused my refund request. From the time I realized my flight was cancelled to the time the issue was finally resolved, i had spent over an hour, which makes the experience very negative. The only positive is that I did eventually get a partial refund, even though it was less than half of the total price of the flight ticket.

Pros: They play good 'on hold' songs.
Cons: Spirit cancelled my flight to New Orleans without informing me until I got to the self check in. My two options according to the baggage claim workers and customer service on the phone were to get my money back or take their Thursday flight. I was supposed to fly home from New Orleans on Wednesday. From there, they narrowed my two choices down to just one, get my money back. As a result, I had to spend an extra $300 to get to New Orleans that day through another airline. According to Spirit, there was bad weather which is why the flight must be cancelled, funny, I made it to New Orleans that day with American Airlines. They never offered to compensate me, help me find tickets through another airline, or even an apology. I will never fly Spirit again in my life.

Pros: Overall this was a bad experience. Spirit forces you to pay $55 for a carry-on bag. I suppose I should have known this already, and I'm sure it was in the fine print of my ticket. So partly my own fault. But when you add in all the fees Spirit nickel and dimes you for, you could have purchased a ticket with a better airline for same price. In addition, the boarding process was slow and the staff was unprofessional. The flight attendants were rude, the seats do not recline at all, and I could feel a hard metal piece inside my headrest. I asked for a pillow but the flight attendant said none were available. I will not be flying Spirit again unless there are absolutely no other options.

Pros: The flight attendants were very friendly and the pilot did a great job. There were bad storms in Orlando but you wouldn't know it with the flight. All Spirit flights I have taken have had good pilots and friendly flight attendants.
Cons: When I arrived at Chicago-O'Hare to check in, there was a line around the block for only Spirit Airlines. They had 2 people working at the kiosks and both were slower than molasses. There were several employees that walked up to the kiosks but none of them assisted customers. They had no urgency at all. On top of that, the lady that I interacted with was very rude. She talked to me like I was a complete moron and apologized that another Spirit team in Orlando "didn't do their job properly but O'Hare employees follow the rules". Overall, not impressed at all and I will avoid booking with Spirit on future flights.

Cons: The flight was delayed 2 hours and they did not communicate this information very well. I was told to go to gate L7 and waited and waited without any information. Then they told us to go to gate L1 and then to go to gate L11 - it was very disorganized . The employees were not helpful and they seemed annoyed at all the questions. It was very crowded in the terminal and they kept telling us to move back to let other passengers off the plane but there was no where to go. All in all it was not a good experience to fly with Spirit.

Pros: Spirit is known as an ultra low cost carrier. I did not know this when I purchased the tickets, so the fares we paid were a little less than that of competitors. The pros end there.
Cons: For the amount of harassment one goes through to fly with Spirit, the slightly lower fares are not worth it. Frankly, it seems like a ploy to hook people and subsequently squeeze three nickels out of every dime for anything else on the flight. The boarding process was delayed by over an hour. The attendant speaking from the gate was rude, hostile, and obnoxious. Those boarding were practically interrogated to make sure the water bottle they were holding might not be an extra personal item. (You have to pay $55 for a carry-on but are allowed one personal item on Spirit. If you are caught carrying extra onto the plane without paying, it's a $100 fine. One which they are on the prowl for!) Once on the flight, there is no entertainment. There is no complimentary anything. You can buy food or drink with credit cards only. The seats do not even have a tilt function to them, so you can only sit upright. My personal favorite part of the flight was watching the fight that ensued between female passengers deboarding and the attendants that did nothing about it. Something about the ultra low cost carrier makes people crazed to get off the plane. At the end of a flight, everyone wants off a plane, but I have never seen such disorganized chaos and blatantly rude disregard for the deboarding process as on this flight. Next time I travel, I'll spend the extra $100 to fly with another airline. Lesson learned.

Pros: Only the initial "sucker price" which does NOT include ANY LUGGAGE or the ability to SIT WITH YOUR FAMILY without paying extra!!
Cons: They use an initial "SUCKER PRICE" which does NOT include ANY LUGGAGE or the ability to SIT WITH YOUR FAMILY without paying extra!! $50 extra for each piece of luggage ... EACH WAY1 If you don't pay at the check in counter they charge $100 for each piece of luggage - each way and that includes ANY BACKPACK WITH WHEELS! $25 FOR EACH FAMILY MEMBER TO SIT TOGETHER!!!! NO COMPLIMENTARY FOOD OR DRINK. 2 sodas are $5! (can't buy just one) NO none zero entertainment, not even a radio channel.

Pros: When I got off the flight to my destination.
Cons: The customer service was terrible! When hiring a person customer service should be a priority! I understand you can't please everybody but to treat a person as if they don't matter is terrible. And to make a person miss a domestic flight because of being five minutes and making them go print a boarding pass and make me go back in line and then charging me an additional 200 dollars to rebook me was beyond me! I needed to make it to LAX to connect to meet volunteers for a mission trip I was going with and I did not make that flight just because the person decided to send me back to the line.

Pros: In flight experience was good.
Cons: Didn't like that I have to print my boarding pass and that an eboarding pass doesnt work on the scanners. That was not communicated well to me. The gate changed 30 mins prior to the take off time of my flight and not a single passenger was informed of this. There were no announcements made. They did not even care to change the flight information display at the gate behind the counter. While passengers were waiting to board, a jet blue crew member starts to announce boarding for their flight to JFK while its displaying spirit airlines flight to dallas. The jet blue crew has no information to provide to us. A spirit airline crew memeber SHOULDVE MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT reg the gate change at the original gate or they should remove the spirit airline flight display from the screen. And all this 20 mins prior to take off. And I was told to stand in line that was a mile long to have this simple question answered 'whats the current gate'. The crew could've been a bit more informative, less rude and more approachable.

Pros: Your flight staff (flight attendants) are always great.
Cons: I attempted to purchase luggage before each of my flights (departure and return) and the website would not allow it. I called the customer service number multiple times and it said they were experiencing technical difficulties. I was forced to purchase luggage allowance at the airport on both flights and was forced to pay a much larger amount that what I normally would have had to pay if the website was working. This excessive fee really makes the option of flying spirit less economical, frustrating, and really obliterates any reason to fly with your airline. Additionally, I was able to purchase seating before my flight- but on my return flight they put me in a seat that I did not pay for. The flight attendant did make a correction. Your staff at the main terminals is consistently extremely slow, unfortunately. I really like the flight attendants, they are always great. However, due to the above mentioned issues I have had recurrently, I will certainly be reluctant to purchase Spirit flights in the future

Cons: Poor flight connection time- we waited 6 hours for our connecting flight at Chicago. Poor gate change arrangement- changing gate without changing the boarding on the arriving/departure board. My daughter and I sat outside of the boarding gate for 2 and a half hours and were informed the boarding gate had changed. When we realized the gate changed, we rushed to the gate, the gate closed. We ran to the customer service. The staff there wasn't sympathetic and showed no interest of helping us to get on another flight to Portland asap. Instead of connecting us to the flight that we could arrive at Portland on the same day, he told us two choices of flight: same flight at the same time on the next day; fly to Dallas next morning and then fly to Portland arriving Portland at early evening. It was already 8:45 pm at the time. I asked was there any earlier flight we could take as my daughter has to be at a camp orientation the next day. He was rude and refused to offer any further help. As we walked away , my daughter saw a nearby boarding gate showed a flight to Dallas in 20 minutes. We rushed back to the Spirit staff and asked him to put us on that flight. He said it's already too late. If he would had tried at the beginning, we would have a chance to be on that flight, and be back to Portland next day. We ended up buying tickets from another airline to fly home that night. In summary- Spirit Airline: expensive after added all other fees, ending up paying more with very poor service, lack of convenience of larger companies that have more flights , small seat space; you will be treated as a bargain seeker and deserved no respect or service.

Pros: It got me from the point A to the point B safely. Shouldn't/wouldn't take that for granted.
Cons: 1. Technical difficulties: We attempted to check in the night before, in order to "save" on what's already a ridiculous fee for checked baggage. However, after inputting our credit card number, the system stated that it was experiencing malfunction. Therefore, we had to check in again at the airport, and although we informed them that we attempted to check in ahead of time, they were not concerned and charged us $52 each per bag. At this point, any savings we had by booking a "no frill, economic" airline, were negated. 2. Ridiculous Fees, cont: My husband and I were traveling together, and booked the flight at the same time, on the same credit card. Yet, the only way we were guaranteed seats together, was if we purchased seat assignments. 3. Delays: Our flight was initially delayed 3 hours. We were not given any explanation or apologies. Then, as our new boarding time was approaching, they informed us that further delay will ensue due to a flight attendant running late. They could not give us a time frame in which we would actually board, nor did they seem particularly concerned or apologetic. 4. (Dis)Comfort: We finally boarded. Seats do not recline, nor are they comfortable. Of course, even water carried a charge. 5. More delays, poor Customer Service: After we landed, we proceeded to wait another half an hour or so, because the plane for some reason had no access to the gate. People were restless and needed to use restrooms. But they were sharply redirected and ordered to stay seated and buckled, without much regard for the inconvenience and discomfort. Overall, a poor experience. There are so many airlines out there whose costs are comparable (or even cheaper after you factor in all of the additional, ridiculous fees) and who have a better record in being on time, great customer service, and no extra fees. I would suggest going with them.

Pros: My wife and I chose to try this airlines because it had a non-stop flight with a favorable schedule at a competitive price. But everything else was a disaster and we will NEVER fly with Spirit Airlines again.
Cons: First, it wasn't until we went to check-in online 24 hours before our flight that we discovered we would be charged a hefty fee for each carry-on bag, $42 each one way. Second, if we wanted to reserve two seats together there was also a charge for this of $18 per seat one way. (The airlines gives you the option of not reserving a seat and then you are simply assigned whatever seats are still available at airport check-in.). Third, Spirit's website crashed several times "due to unusually heavy online traffic," so we were not able to complete any online check-in, nor purchase the tickets required for our online check-in and you pay even more per carry-on bag if you check-in at the airport. Fourthly, our flight home was delayed taking off by 2 1/2 hours. No explanation was given other than an announcement that "our flight was still waiting for one of two required flight attendants before it could depart." When we arrived so late back at our home airport, there was no gate available for our plane, so we sat on the Tarmac after landing for another full hour. Lastly, there are no complimentary services of any kind on Spirit Airlines--no magazines to read, no beverages, not even water--you pay for EVERYTHING--and to top it all off their seats do not recline. We will never choose Spirit Airlines again. We ended up paying more than we would have on a more traditional airlines.

Cons: The flight attendant "joked" with us that we were heading to New York instead of LA... Supposed to be funny but seriously rude and frightening; I almost had a panic attack. I am also severely disgusted by the airlines that include a dozen hidden fees but don't inform you of them when you are booking your ticket. It was due to a fluke that I discovered carry ons were not free, which led me to search further and find that printing boarding passes is not free, nor are beverages, nor.. anything else. While I understand Spirit's desire to make flights cheaper, you should just TELL PEOPLE THAT when they buy the ticket, I shouldn't have to discover it after the fact. I probably still would have bought your ticket and been much happier about it.

Pros: nothing
Cons: My flight to Boston was 1:54 PM ORD 6/2/16. I booked this flight months ago in order to attend my daughter MIT convocation ceremony on 6/3/16. I arrived at ORD very early in the morning on 6/2/16 and waited at the gate L7 before 11 AM. The flight was kept delay several times, I waited near by the gate and checked with the desk lady many times and was kept told that the flight was delayed, finally the flight left around 3:55 PM without any announcement. I missed the flight. I was told to go to gate 11A for this issue. Martin who worked there with the customers like me who missed the flight was very impatient and not helpful at all. Never take the Sprint airline again.

Pros: The crew was very nice. The flight was on-time
Cons: Arrived at airport over 2 hours early. Did pre-check in for flight and luggage. Had to wait in line almost an hour to tag luggage. (Many people were frantic in line re: not getting to flight on time) TSA line was all the way down airport. Knew I would not make flight. NO agent to help me while I waited. Tried calling Spirit no-one could help. Got to counter with less than 15 minutes to boarding time. Supervisor was extremely rude and said there was nothing she could do re: TSA line. Said that if I didn't make flight I could get a later flight or pay extra for something different. Went to TSA line and no-one could help. Saw another Spirit rep, while in TSA line. she rudely said "no-way!" and walked away.. Finally, I "seriously" begged and cut in TSA line. Ran. Made it to gate for final boarding call!!!

Cons: We had got stuck in traffic on the way to O'hare yet still arrived MORE than 45 minutes before our flight, but the Spirit airlines crew did not even give us the opportunity to ATTEMPT to check in to get our boarding passes. We missed our flight and are now out all of the money we had spent to go enjoy our first wedding anniversary together. This is unacceptable... While I understand that traffic issues fall outside of the airline's responsibility - SHOWING EMPATHY toward our situation could have made things easier, but they didn't - just very cold, non-customer service friendly, garbage. Perhaps if the Spirit airlines team was better at checking people in at the terminal, instead of having a 'who cares' mentality and allowing a 35 person line to be AT A STAND STILL, perhaps we could have made the plane, and I currently could have been writing an amazing review in Florida right now, but I'm not. I am in Indiana, trying to fight with the airline, the travel insurance agency, and others trying to re-coop my losses. this was an overall terrible experience, and I feel like a fool even attempting to try doing this. By all means feel free to contact me to discuss my frustration in person Sean Warren

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: There's a a rule that states you can't check in after 45 minutes before your flight. That's annoying and unnecessary. I've ran late before with other airlines, but was able to check in and easily go get on the plane. Even if I didn't make it though because going through security took too long, what's the problem with the agents at the gate having to look for my next flight option? Because of this rule and me running behind for my 9:10 am flight, I missed it, and I had to wait 10 hours in the airport for the next one. Next time I fly, I will be avoiding Spirit airlines if it comes up as an option.

Pros: The woman at the airport desk was wonderful and very helpful. She took off 10 dollars from each bag because she said she could see that we tried to login. She put notes in the record and said we could possibly get more refunded but I have not heard from anyone about it. Now I get to call and be on hold for ever. She also informed us that the flight confirmation number we had was a kayak, not spirit number???????? There was no indication about this. Also boarding was very efficient.
Cons: When I purchased the ticket from Kayak I was not informed about the need to purchase a seat or bags or given the opportunity to do so. There was no notification that one could not have a personal item and a small bag -- only one. When I tried to get my boarding pass on line, I was unable to do so. At that time I learned about the baggage policy. The system had me in a loop that I could not get out of. I was not allowed to request an account so I concluded that I might have gotten one when I logged in. I tried to sign in repeatedly and asked for a new password because it kept saying it was wrong. I never got it and I had to leave for the airport or risk missing the flight. So, I was charged $40 per bag (two of us were flying) for both the outbound and return trips. That is roughly twice what I would have been charged if I had been informed and had been given the chance to buy the bags when I bought the ticket. It would have been much cheaper to buy a ticket on another carrier once I paid 160 for two small (what would easily fit in overhead). I had a carry on (personal item) so had to pay. Our flight was delayed and the gate was moved several times. We were not kept informed about the weather conditions, the fact that the plane was on the ground, or what time the flight was supposed to arrive after all the delays. The flight crew was too busy visiting with each other to deal with a problem in the seat next to me -- I kept trying to get their attention. A tall man kept his feet in the aisle and, most importantly, he was talking loudly on his cell phone until the plane was barreling down the runway to take off. They had told us to put electronics in flight mode way before that. He just kept talking. I tried to get the crews attention but no problem.

Pros: The entire process was flawless. Plane was extremely clean, flight attendants very nice, even funny and mocking themselves a bit considering Spirit charges for EVERYTHING! The key to flying Spirit and not getting hit with large additional charges is to understand whats expected of you as far as baggage. Get this right and the rest of the experience is better than any other airline Ive had the displeasure of flying over the past 15 years. Apparently all passengers on this flight were well aware of the baggage limitations as boarding and exiting the plane once in Tampa went VERY quickly and rather than passengers getting bent out of shape during this process everyone was smiling! Havent seen this...ever!
Cons: Wish there was a Wifi option on the flight. Spirit charges for everything and this would have been another revenue stream for them and I guarantee most passengers would have used it and paid the $5-10 for access to the internet.
