Desk agent did ask for six volunteers to check their bags on a full flight. Adherence to the rules of size and number would be fairer to all passengers. Crew was very nice. Previous experience with Jet Blue was very positive."

Pros: "The crew was excellent - they did their best in a bad situation and should be commended for that - they let us get out of the plane after learning after we boarding that we would have to wait 2 hours to take off - they let us get out to go to the bathroom and get something to eat and bring back to the plane - it was very cold in the aircraft and there were not enough blankets to go around - additional blankets should be available - the chips that were served once we took off are not sufficient for passengers that were at the airport 2 hours earlier, experienced a 4 hour delay and still face a 3 hour flight- meal arrangements should be offered when passengers are facing such long delays - the free WIFI was a plus and the seats are comfortable"

Cons: "My July 11 fiight UA1259 was delayed and I could not connect to Milan. I had to stay in Newark for 1 night. But UA assigned me a hotel about 1 hour driving from Newark Airport. I had to rent by my own money $160 a day. UA should arraign a hotel either close to the airport or pay the rental car for me."

Cons: "Plane sat on rinway in Newark. For 4 hours before takeoff with no explanation provided. I miissed my connection to Dubrovnik. I was flown from munich to frankfurt and then to zagreb. I was put up in a very low class hotel. I aarived in dubrovnik at noon the following day. This caused me great anxiety and aggravation and a losd of a full day of vacation."

Cons: "When experiencing turbulence, the flight attendant came over the speaker and requested everyone to be seated with their seat belts fastened. A few moments later she came back on reprimanding that "THIS IS NOT A JOKE YOU NEED TO SIT DOWN WITH YOUR SEAT BELTS FASTENED" which was still ok. The third announcement was the one I felt was highly inappropriate when she then stated "I DONT KNOW IF YOUVE BEEN WATCHING THE NEWS LATELY, BUT THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE TURBULANCE IS GOING TO GET WORSE" frankly I have been watching the news lately and there is plane CRASHES on the news. My husband is afraid of flying and that announcement was terrifying, even for someone who is not afraid to fly. There has to be some sort of protocol of verbage to use when the turbulance is getting bad, because to insinuate the plane could crash to get your point across is crossing the line. I have been on planes where the turbulance is a lot worse and felt this was really out of line."

Cons: "This flight was cancelled, so I can't say how the flight was. However, I can say that in my 20 years of travel, this was by far the worst, most stressful experience I have ever had. I was placed on 2 other flights with 2 other airlines and wasn't notified until AFTER I was already checking in with another airline (this is also after calling the airlines regarding the cancellation, several hours before heading to the airport). Worst experience. Do not recommend."

Pros: "Nonstop flight! Nice and cool on the plane. The movies/entertainment were pretty good. Flight attendants were pleasant. This flight had its own security line at the airport! No waiting at all to go through security."
Cons: "It was delayed about 2 hours. The boarding process was a bit chaotic- partly because of the layout of the airport. The waiting area was small so it got congested quickly when 3 flights were boarding at the same time. Even though United checked us in by group number, we had to board a bus to get to the plane. So, the group number system wasn't really enforced when we actually got on the plane -- more like first come, first served at that point. First class and business class did get to go ahead on a different bus. We also had to climb stairs from the tarmac - could be an issue for the disabled."

Pros: "The crew worked furiously to get everyone her drink & snack. Boarding sequence was orderly."
Cons: "Most of the time, the weak link is in check-in. For CLE-ORD, too many huge personal bags & carry-ons slipped thru the process resulting in takeoff delay as the staff checked for overhead cabin space back & forth. Inside the jet, the crew had to look for cabin space, rearrange ridiculously large bags...in order to fit my backpack. More delay. Some "personal" items were larger than most carryons."

Cons: "Flight was delayed due to air traffic control issues so I only had 40 min layover to get to my next gate. Also when we arrived we were on the ground for a long time before we could pull up to gate to unload. I have a 3 yr old & 5 yr old & had to run to make it. We made it but luggage didn't. My first luggage was delivered quickly, the 2nd luggage arrived 3 days after we arrived home."

Pros: "Seating is so close you can count the hairs on the passenger in front of you. Tray is too close to you and uncomfortable to even eat or drink anything. Overseas and international seating needs to be larger than short domestic flights."

Cons: "The flight within itself was not a problem. However there was a hold up because on weather which is not a problem better safe than sorry. But trying to make our connecting flight was the problem we asked over and over for information on if we were to make our connecting flight and no one seem to be able to give us a relatively fair answer on what we were to do because of the delays. Needless to say we missed our connecting flight in New Jersey they shut the door and said we could not board, that's OK if that was the rules but what to do next was the problem, no one could seemingly help us.We had to walk around to find someone to help us to only be told that we can just get the next flight but we had to go to customer service to get re-ticketed which was making us missed even another flight the lines in customer service were extremely long and they were going extremely slow so I had to jump out of line and go to a gate in which someone help me get re-ticketed to catch the next flight. We were to have someone to meet us in London in which we had no way to connect with them to tell them we were going to be 2 to 3 hours late. Once we got on a flight the plane was clean, the seats were spacious enough for economy and the staff was friendly but coming through New Jersey was not what I would want to do again but I had a flight back coming through. The horror!"

Cons: "My first flight with United leaving from DC was delayed multiple times and therefore I missed my connecting flight from Newark. I stayed at a hotel to catch the next flight with British Airways leaving from DC to London but had already checked my bags in and could not find out where they were, so I slept with only my handbag! I was never reimbursed for my stay at the Marriott even though I had no control over the flight that was delayed for unknown reasons. After all seemed okay and I reached Mumbai I expected my checked in bag to be at the baggage claim area. I waited for two hours and still had no idea where my bags were. I was very frustrated at this point. I was then advised to create a customer care case with British airways to track my lost baggage, even though United should have handled the transfer of luggage earlier. I called back for three days straight, again I was still without clothes and toiletries his whole time, and the service was dismal. After I got in touch with British and United and got everything sorted out I had my bags delivered to my address in India. The terror continued. I opened my bags and found some minor electronics and other valuables missing! How does that even happen if the bags were previously screened and processed in the States? Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with this entire experience and do not recommend booking with United Airways at any cost!"

Hidden fees everywhere that make the price much, much less of a deal than it looked when I did the price comparisons against some legitimate airlines. Frontier charged for carry-on bags, tried to charge for seat assignments (all of the available seats & not just the desired ones), charged for every beverage including sodas. Frankly I was surprised they didn't charge for water! Seats didn't recline at all & were like sitting on a metal folding chair for 5 hours. Food tray was about 3 inches wide, could barely put a plastic cup on it let alone a laptop or anything like that. Deceptive pricing combined with crappy accommodations - a combination I will avoid next time."

Never was another flight to,Cleveland bumped so we could return home. At least you figured out that disaster and we were able to board a plane scheduled for Philadelphia, which bumped that passenger to a flight 3 hours later. And the stories of horror other passengers had last night...all about Frontier, one man previously had totally missed a cruise! This is not how to maintain nor run an airlines. I will not be giving Frintier another chance."

Also, we waited for 1/2 hour at baggage claim for our bags to finally appear..."

Pros: "Crew was polite and professional. The flight was on time or early and take off and landing were uneventful."
Cons: "Seats were very hard and narrow. I got a stiff neck from having to lean sideways due to a broad shouldered man next to me. The baggage charge was pretty steep. All the additional charges add up to what a regular priced flight with comfortable seats and beverage service would be."

Pros: "I got more than I bargained for. On a short flight (2hrs), I don't need frills. Everything worked, crew was professional. Price was excellent. Paying for extras doesn't bother me, but I understand it's a concept that many people need time to get used to. I'd way rather pay for my carry-on or even water than to have to subsidize the cost of yours."

Cons: "There was a "maintenance issue" with the plane. That can happen. But the way the airline handled it was the problem. Every couple of hours they would push back the departure time. After being delayed 6 hours they told us, "The plane IS REPAIRED, but the crew has timed out." So the departure time had to be pushed back another 3 hours. 15 minutes before that time elapsed they announced that, while they now had a crew, the plane wasn't actually fixed and they were going to bring in another plane in another 2 hours. Before boarding, they announced they needed to move some passengers to different seats, "because there were less passengers than originally scheduled" to balance the weight. This turned out to be a lie because it was a different plane model. I was moved from an upgraded seat to an unsatisfactory one with less leg room. When the plane finally did come in we sat on the tarmac for 60 minutes before taking off. They announced complimentary drinks AND snacks for the delay. And, while I don't get excited one way or another over a bag of peanuts, when the air-waitress came around and tried to charge me for the snacks and claimed that it had never been promised, it was really annoying. Delays happen. Please don't lie about what's going on."

Cons: "Stuartest were rude and mean. We sat on the plane for 1 hr before they took off. They had an issue with a door censor and while they fixed it the entired plane smelled burnt. This smelled persisted until we took off. It was scary to even fly in the same airplane. Next time i will pay more money and feel more securw and confident in the plane."

Cons: "After nickel and diming to make the ticket price higher than other flights, the flight itself was delayed for more than 7 hours. Don use this cheap, poorly managed airline."

Cons: "1. carry on baggage - I had one that was in a large soft carrier bag that i carried like a handbag over my right shoulder-- the pleasant male counter officer did not say anything but a younger female personnel said it costs US$45 for a carry on bag, fuss was made by her about how the soft bag height was "slightly higher" than the carryon baggage steel rectangular measurement guide nearby. I removed a couple of important items to put into my check-in luggage, paid US$40 for it. Then I was given the OK. After that, I observed several people with hardcover luggages, carry-ons and backpacks (i.e. 1 carry-on that was definitely a lot larger than mine (with wheels and all) and bulky backpacks) ... By the way, the soft bag fit OK under the seat in front of me as it was a "soft" bag and I had leg room too. This made me feel it is a racial discrimination since I am a foreigner Chinese. It marred my otherwise 1 month enjoyable trip to various parts of USA."

The flight was delayed over 7 hours and they gave us a $10 meal voucher that was not accepted by any of the vendors in the airport. On our return flight, more delays. We were not able to check in online because we had a CREDIT balance so we had to wait in the ticket line to check in. NO plans to use the $100 voucher they gave us that has to be used in 90 days."

Also, I chose this carrier because if the low fare. By the time I was done paying for all of the extras like a seat (really?!) I would have saved money going with a different airline AND had a better choice of flight times. Oh, and free water on the plane."

I understand we all need to take off ASAP, but they've got to understand if everyone was standing at the gate, there would be no room to stand so we all disperse and know we can check our smartphones for updates."

My first experience with Spirit and may be the last unless they reimburse me. In LAX they make you check in "online" on a kiosk (presumably to save you time), then make you wait in line for another hour to drop your bag off. WTH? What's the point of that charade? Worst check-in experience of my life. This airline won't last long if they treat people this way. Their own staff appeared miserable and on the verge of homicide or suicide. No wonder."

The car seat was soaking wet and we had to use her blanket and some other clothing to make it partially suitable for her sit in her car seat. We fly 2-4 times a year on different airlines and with the pre-check status we are able to get through security rather quickly. In the absence of pre-check (because Spirit airlines does not have that facility) we were in the security check line for a long time. Our grand- daughter was upset and crying. Fortunately, eventually someone from the security department came to our assistance and expedited her and her parents' clearance"

The problem with an airline is not about the price it's about dealing with customers who are STRANDED during the holidays. I had an international flight on the 31st to get back abroad where I study. It was upsetting the lack of service to get my flight rescheduled, it was highly unprofessional how they didn't have a rational solution to get back on the 29th of december. I wish this site, would take over and help us rebook our flight. The problem with our service from Spirit was they would reimburse both flights, but then I would have to go to an airport would be taking a risk to not get a flight when driving 1-5 hours to airports around throwing away valuable time. They said they would give a $50 voucher for a reduction in another flight, but this is NOT at all enough to compensate for the stress I (and my family) were put through. This is the worst experience with an airline I have ever had used. I would not EVER recommend this to anyone flying."

They robotically said that the next flight isn't until over a week later (well after my scheduled vacation ends), and offered a refund as the only thing they could do. Frankly, a refund is literally the least they could do; there was no effort put into finding an alternate flight or offering other means of compensation for the inconvenience. Had I been in charge of this, I probably would have offered at least a voucher for a discounted future flight, so as to promote further patronage. When I asked why it had been canceled, they said some ambiguous nonsense about security in Fort Myers. When I then called Spirit Airlines, they said it was due to weather. Furthermore, the agent on the phone was equally unhelpful and uncaring as those in person. She explained that because I accepted the refund, there's nothing else they can offer. I tried to explain that those at the counter gave me a refund because it was the only option. In short, this was my first experience with Spirit, and I got the distinct impression that they had no interest in customer satisfaction whatsoever; they are solely in it for the monetary exchange. Once that transaction is complete, they want to be rid of you."

Upon landing, there wasn't a gate available; so we waited nearly an hour to de board the plane. The passenger next to me said that's happened 4 of the 5 times he's flown Spirit (1-3 hour waits!!). Lastly, our luggage took a considerably ling time to arrive at baggage claim. Although we landed by 6:43, it was 8:30 before I had my bag and could leave the airport."
