Cons: "First, the departure terminal didn't show up on the reader boards until it was almost time to go, so I had to sprint down to our gate. Then, they boarded by zones, but I had no idea what zone I was supposed to be in and it was nowhere on my ticket. Anywhere. Then, when I finally decided to go try to board, they wouldn't let me because they said I didn't have a return ticket. In fact, I had proof of onward travel in three different forms. But they insisted that I had to have a flight as proof of leaving Guatemala and assured me that customs would prevent me from entering. They also said I had 5 minutes to book something or I would miss the flight. No one ever paged me to discuss this prior to departure! And do you know how much Guatemala asked about my onward travel? Zero. Nada. In the fluster of buying an almost $400 ticket, I clicked to book through a third party that doesn't allow refunds. Fortunately, after I landed I called them right away to cancel and managed to make it happen since the ticket hadn't been issued, but if I had failed at that it would have been at least $130 when all was said and done. Ride was uncomfortable, flight attendants we're rude and impatient, and I was ignored for food service."

I had to pay for a 24 hours expedite / rush passport. ALSO, once I got my new passport (17 hours later) I was told that I had to pay $170 penalty for moving my departure day and $680 because I had to adjust to the new ticket price. At that point I decide to buy a new ticket with a different airline. AVIANCA SUCKS!!! They are NOT very accommodating at all. Will not recommend this agency and I WILL NEVER ever again will use their service."

Cons: "Got an email saying my flight time was pushed back 2 hours, flying from Flores to Guatemala City. This meant that I would not make it to Guatemala City in time to catch my flight back to the U.S. As a result I had to cancel that flight and forefeit over $300, AND I had to forfeit the $120 I paid to Avianca. So, Avianca just randomly decides to significantly change flight times and it costs me over $400, AND without a way home. The submission to consider even a partial refund was rejected in a matter of days. This is the worst airline ever and you should never ever rely on a flight with them."

Then if your flight gets moved to another gate...and you have 10 minutes to do ALL this again... Never mind the bathrooms while one of us watches the scooters while the other uses the facilities and this is Impossible. Never mind the narrowness of the elevators. STRONGLY SUGGEST AN AIRLINE EMPLOYEE TRIES TO SEE THE PROBLEMS FIRST HAND with a scooter, THEN RECOMMEND FIXES. And don't get me started on the restarants with tables too close together if you use a scooter. Toronto airport is better as a comparison. Alton and Mary Cason"

I asked for a Coffee to wake up and was informed that they are NOT complimentary. I asked what snacks or beverages they had that were complimentary and they informed me there were NONE. Zero. What? I only had cash on me (my card had been lost in traveling days before) and I asked if they would either let me pay cash or be willing to just this once offer me a free coffee. They flatly told me no. It is worth noting that I was kind and courteous throughout learning this. I didn't take any frustration out on the flight attendants. But I was deeply disappointed. I'm am exhausted traveler on your airline in a bind without my card. Can you please just be kind and offer me a coffee on the house? Nope. Sigh."

Cons: "The whole flight from Philadelphia to Rome was on American Airlines, not British Air. This was confusing at first and made it difficult to know what airline desk I needed to check into, but once that was clear it all went smoothly. The dinner was mediocre and the breakfast terrible."

Cons: "I purchased a business class seat and did not get a business class seat. In Philadelphia the agent would not give me the available seat because I was not on an upgrade list. He said I would have to call american. I tried several times. (I also called british air and they said they could not help.) Each time i tried American the message said they had high volume call back later. I reported this to BA and have not yet had a response."

Cons: "The gate changes...........and no information in 3 hour delay"

Cons: "Check in was a disaster with the computer system down. The gentleman that helped us was lovely but system issues kept us at check in a very long time and unfortunately that together with the crazy insanely long distance to our gate- then only to take a bus- we did not have time to pick up any food or make any stops which we counted on and had arrived 2.5 hours ahead of time to check in to allow for."

Cons: "They lost our luggage. Four people traveling together arrived in Phnom Penh, but our luggage didn't. It took almost 2 days to be reunited with our luggage."

Cons: "The only problem that I had with my flight is that my luggage did not arrive on the same flight. Possibly due to my connecting flight from DCA to JFK. Both American Airlines and British Airways reassured me that it would be at Gatwick Airport when I arrived. Unfortunately, it did not. It took approximately four days to get my luggage. This was definitely a lessons learned."

Pros: "AA staff in Guatemala are great, everything else about AA is bellow any other airline, definitely the worst airline."
Cons: "AA is the worst airline in everything, but worst of all is the AA staff attitude in Miami airport, AA staff in Guatemala are great."

Cons: "The staff in Miami Airport is really bad, worst attitude I have seen, old planes, not comfortable, definetly the worst major airline now."

Cons: "Although a BA flight I had to pay AA charges for checked baggage. Agent at AA counter was trying to help by offering my bag as carry on. I paid the $100.00 charge as I am handy capped and did not want to wrestle extra weight. Under BA there should have been no charge but the AA counter staff acted ignorant of that fact. Not sure why I am telling you this as I expect nothing will be done by anyone."

Pros: "We paid almost $100 each extra for our seats. For that price we should at least have had a little wiggle room. My husband is 6'4" tall and it was a pretty uncomfortable flight for him. It was American booked thru Iberia."
Cons: "The seats were quite cramped. It was a long flight to be so cramped. The flight attendants were very nice and hospitable. It was also nice to get a pillow & blanket. When we flew to China on American I was appalled that they were charging for use of them."

Cons: "We waited at the gate in Frankfurt once the plane was loaded for 40 minutes for the aircraft to get pushed back from the jetway . Waited another 25 minutes in Dallas for an operator to place the jetway to the aircraft. One of the stewardess we had was really rude."

Cons: "This was my first time flying First Class. Not only was my flight delayed but everything was changed last minute. My seats, layovers, EVERYTHING! I was better off paying for a regular seat. I'm a young African American and the stay treated me as if I didn't belong in First Class! Not to mention the last time I flew into LAX American Airline lost my luggage! I have proof to show! Absolutely ridiculous!"

It's just a job for them to get by and it shows. Many including myself isn't big fans of AA. I wish this airline gets bought out by Southwest who understands value and elite customer service. They don't charge every little thing like American. I hope soon they can fly into Colorado Springs."

Pros: "There was nothing I liked. The plane was an hour late and nearly missed my connection."

Cons: "My son was flying on United from Colorado Springs to Denver, then on to Seattle for Thanksgiving. He rushed through as quickly as he could, but the door to the place was closing and it left 10 minutes early. United recorded him as a 'No Show', and there policy now is to cancel the entire ticket is you miss any segment of a round trip ticket. Thus, his entire $900 was forfeited, he couldn't even pay a change fee to catch a later flight. I hate American, and now I hate United just as much. These airlines shills have been allowed to go out of business when they last filled for bankruptcy. We fly in quite a few international airlines, and outside of Alaska, Jet Blue and Delta, maybe Southwest, US carriers are absolutely bottom of the barrel and it's clear that their employees don't care whatsoever. Will never book again in United or American. I'll try Amtrak before either of those carriers."

But I had no choice this time."

They had a wheelchair at the gate and helped push my disabled brother which was such a help for my elderly parents to make their connections. When I got my parents their tickets I was very apprehensive that it might be difficult making the connections but thanks to United's wonderful service their whole experience was fantastic. In the future I will always try to book United."
