The plugs were not working in the flight and since they’ve taken out the screens even in first class it makes it kind of useful when you have to use your own device. I also found my cushion to be loose and sliding all over. Overall the flight was good. The crew was great. The lack of amenities and the state of the plane left more to be desired. At least Delta you can use WiFi for free a little as well as getting messaging services for free.

Pros: "Great crew"
Cons: "Snacks"
Cons: "The crew was rude, we left over an hour late due to human error, there was no food for sale and the internet was down"
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "The customer service, both on the phone & in person"
Cons: "i was on a commuter jet for 2 1/2 hours which was cramped and uncomfortable. no wifi or any entertainment. we sat on the tarmac when we landed for approximately 10 minutes even though we were not early."
Pros: "Flight was mostly empty and it’s a short trip."
Pros: "The 2 flight attendants who continued to work this flight were amazing. The gate agent in Phoenix was also great."
Cons: "7 hour delay initially because of a mechanical problem, but massively exacerbated by an inability to find crew. Disappointing...."
Cons: "My seat was disgusting when I went to sit in it. Then I discovered the seat was broken. 24A"
Pros: "No flight. It was cancelled."
Cons: "Find a sooner alternate flight"
Cons: "If we had access to the WiFi to watch shows earlier like United does, that would be nice."
Pros: "flight took off exactly on time & arrived on time"
Pros: "Arrived on time"
Pros: "Early arrival!"
Pros: "Very nice new plane."
Pros: "Quick flight"
Cons: "Getting through security at O'Hare was horrible. My plane seat was too upright and felt like it was not bolted to the floor properly."
Pros: "Quick flight, great crew, orderly boarding. Updates to gate were clearly communicated"
Cons: "Very annoyed at "Basic Economy" being a thing. Annoying way to get more $ for the same seat. Avoiding any airline with this status."
Cons: "British Airways/American Airlines lost/delayed luggage again! Then send an email in the middle of night with a link to schedule home delivery of the luggage that was valid for 4 hours only. It is clearly an attempt to cheat out of their responsibility of home delivery of the luggage that was delayed the second time. Poor, poor service by American Airlines."
Cons: "The crew was very disappointing!!!!!!"
Cons: "No overhead space"
Pros: "Flight attendant was beyond excellent, Yaniel, who smiled and greeted me helping me to my singular seat on the right side of the plane. He was very professional and kind, with a very well appearance and a fantastic attitude. He was quick with delivering my snack and coffee. Very pleased!!!! First flight attendant to ever make the trip as exceptional as possible. Thank you Yaniel very much."
Cons: "Unbelievable wait times at LGA. Late arrival of plane, extremely late departure at over an hour passed original departure time. Waste of money choosing that ticket and time frame when it was clearly not a concern of American Airlines that I was missing my rides, late getting to CMH etc."
Cons: "Waited an extra 30 minutes for luggage to be loaded. Every American ( British airways partner) flight we took was delayed."
Cons: "I guess I was lucky to get a seat at all, since this last leg of my itinerary was deleted from my ticket when I got to the airport. So my bag couldn't be checked through, and they wanted to charge me for it even though it was a connection to the international flight I had just taken. A truly dreadful experience."
Pros: "DCA based AA gate agents were awesome. We were booked on a flight that was delayed, turned out there was a flight about to depart (it had been delayed 2.5hrs due to weather), but was departing prior to our reg scheduled flight so they put us on standby. No doubt the crew was also columbus based and eager to get home...as they did. Couldn’t be more pleased to get home"
Cons: "Seats are cramped"
Pros: "40 minute flight, on time, no complaints."
Pros: "see above"
Cons: "see above"
Pros: "Smooth takeoff and landing. The seats were comfortable for a 3 hour flight."
Cons: "Stuffy on the plane. This might not be the airline’s problem but it was hot and the air vent didn’t cool me down."
Pros: "As usual, the Cathay Pacific staff were awesome and very professional. Never hesitated to serve the passengers with infants/kids and elderly people. My overall experience was great!! Thank you to all staff!!"
Pros: "Nice airline very accommodating. Loved first class"
Pros: "Smooth flight"
Cons: "Being delayed"
Cons: "Have to pay for wifi use. Entertainment used to be included in flights and was apart of your airfare."
Pros: "The plane was very comfortable. The steward as very helpful - just a cup of coffee when I entered the plane - but after nearly missing connections, it was very welcome."
Cons: "The flight was perfect."
Cons: "This was my first time flying First Class. Not only was my flight delayed but everything was changed last minute. My seats, layovers, EVERYTHING! I was better off paying for a regular seat. I'm a young African American and the stay treated me as if I didn't belong in First Class! Not to mention the last time I flew into LAX American Airline lost my luggage! I have proof to show! Absolutely ridiculous!"
Pros: "Bridget was managing the cancellation lines with finesse, compassion, and urgency. She was a star! The rebooked flight was fast, comfortable, and landed early."
Cons: "Previous flight was canceled and forced us to stay in DC an extra day. Watched flights continue to arrive and depart from our hotel room. Rebooked using the mobile app but could not check in on mobile or at the kiosk. Waited in line for almost 2 hours for AA to simply check us in and print passes. The flight did not get catering refreshed after landing in DC so no refreshments or snacks were offered during the flight home."
Cons: "I'm pregnant, and didn't have time before my connecting flight to get food at the airport. I was sitting near the back of the plane, and was ready to purchase food. By the time the cart reached my row, all the food options were literally sold out. I ate the free cookie and had some apple juice, but wanted something with some protein. I guess I'll remember to pack more snacks next time."
Pros: "Awesome crew. On time."
Pros: "worst experience. Airplane people not so good"
Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "The seats were so old, I didn't have a screen to watch movies on and it was really really cold"
Pros: "It was a fairly routine flight. Could use a more substantial snack for a four hour flight."
Cons: "While waiting for our baggage in Phoenix, we noticed a few random bags with tears, rips and clothes hanging out. Then we saw our suitcase. The zipper was torn away from the lining so that it no longer closes all the way. There items hanging out of the gap. What was happening in the basement that caused at least 4 damaged bags?"
Pros: "the plane, a 380, had comfortable seats, fewer occupants, more and easier access to bathrooms, did not like the larger plane I flew on going to Australia, it held 700 persons could physically reach the lights and when on, they didn't disturb anyone vegetarian food was delicious and nutritionally sound and varied love the soft blankets"
Cons: "not a very good choice of current movies"
Cons: "Old Equipment"
Pros: "Had a airline steward named Scott that was very pleasant and nice all throughout the flight."
Cons: "The plane was late/delayed going from Dallas to Colorado and the plane going from Colorado back to Dallas was late/delayed as well ."
Cons: "Unprofessional, rude, unorganized, & just ridiculous!!!!"
Pros: "everything went smooth"
Pros: "no change in take off was a good relief. crew was great and all smiles"
Cons: "."
Pros: "Smooth ride"
Cons: "Advertised snack pack wasn't the one in the brochure. I had to pay for something I didn't care for. And couldn't put my purchase on my new AA MC because I am new."
Pros: "That the pilot got us home safely."
Cons: "Honestly I am not a big fan of AA. I made a mistake booking my flight but couldn't change it because it was going to cost an arm and a leg. The staff are rude and don't try to help you. It's just a job for them to get by and it shows. Many including myself isn't big fans of AA. I wish this airline gets bought out by Southwest who understands value and elite customer service. They don't charge every little thing like American. I hope soon they can fly into Colorado Springs."
Pros: "Well, there wasn't any entertainment, but that's ok. The flight attendants were nice, and the flight was on time."
Cons: "No complaints here!"
Pros: "The flight attendants were not only exceedingly courteous, but they also knew how to put their guests in a good mood. They had fun with their job, which put me in a much better mood than I would have otherwise been in. Also, flight was efficient."
Cons: "Not much to dislike, good all around. We left the runway a bit late, but I'm guessing that wasn't anything the crew could control."
Pros: "Boarded quickly and got into air fast."
Cons: "Way behind schedule and virtually no snacks or drinks."
Cons: "My son was flying on United from Colorado Springs to Denver, then on to Seattle for Thanksgiving. He rushed through as quickly as he could, but the door to the place was closing and it left 10 minutes early. United recorded him as a 'No Show', and there policy now is to cancel the entire ticket is you miss any segment of a round trip ticket. Thus, his entire $900 was forfeited, he couldn't even pay a change fee to catch a later flight. I hate American, and now I hate United just as much. These airlines shills have been allowed to go out of business when they last filled for bankruptcy. We fly in quite a few international airlines, and outside of Alaska, Jet Blue and Delta, maybe Southwest, US carriers are absolutely bottom of the barrel and it's clear that their employees don't care whatsoever. Will never book again in United or American. I'll try Amtrak before either of those carriers."
Pros: "Plane on time"
Cons: "Newark airport security was awful. Only one X-ray security area. Small tight area. No air. Security/TSA kept blaming the customer’s for the slowness. When is lack of X-ray and machines."
Pros: "Kept getting bumped into"
Cons: "Hospitality"
Cons: "Seats were too small; my knees were always against the seat in front of me. Take-off from Dulles was extremely rough. The landing wasn't much better."
Pros: "Amazing amount of legroom! Very comfortable seating, even in economy."
Cons: "I would like to see passengers behave better. One lady pushed in at boarding and went ahead despite the checker telling her she was out of order, Another passenger used both underseat storage in front of him and under him so the person in back of him had no place to put things. Staff should try hard"
Cons: "Wouldnt refund my ticket or change my flight when I needed to change it fee for everything"
Cons: "When transferring our luggage from the flight from Panama, we had to walk all the way to the entrance of the airport as if we had just arrived there instead of being able to transfer the luggage directly. This was not communicated, and we ended up walking around a lot and having to ask at the info desk. When we finally got to the counter, the woman there gave confusing instructions and was incredibly rude to us. As for entertainment on the flight, we couldn't do anything without the app, which you have to get before you're on the plane. Boo."
Pros: "Everything was as planned"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Staff was friendly and helpful."
Pros: "The service"
Cons: "Plane too small and uncomfortable"
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "Delayed flights leading to incredibly tight connection times, staff inconsistent with messaging re the source of the delay, zero compassion for customers, offering $700-$1,400 to get off the plane when you charge $200 to change a flight 2 weeks in advance is especially galling! Will not fly with United again whenever there is a viable alternative to my destination."
Pros: "Great service! Smooth flight!"
Pros: "Entertainment."
Cons: "Nothing."
Pros: "I really like how your flights are inexpensive compared to others when trying to purchase a last minute ticket."
Cons: "The last two times I traveled ( I flew with United Airlines ) and both times my flights were delayed. The first time it was delayed by 4 hours and made me miss an appointment. The second time it was delayed by over 13 hours. It was nice that United had put me in a hotel room for the night, but again it took away from time in which I needed to be somewhere else."
Pros: "Nice staff, helpful front desk and flight attendants."
Cons: "No wifi, carry on fee, small seats"
Pros: "Coffee was delicious. No imagination with the snack of pretzels."
Pros: "For the first time I did not fly on a puddle jumper. Not only was it a real jet, it had good seat comfort and leg room even in economy class. The crew was friendly and attentive. They came by with offerings of water at least 4 times for a 2+ hour flight. Contrast that with my last two 5 hour flights on Virgin and American where they came by with water — ONCE. WiFi wasn’t working for either flight and of course the lack of decent food is discouraging. The coffee has improved which is a plus. Overall, good job, United! Nice not to be jammed in like sardines for once."
Cons: "WiFi wasn’t working and food selection is non existent. Other than that, a very pleasant flight overall."
Pros: "I typically dont fly with united, and this was a typical experience, staff was not friendly, terminal and gate change at last minute after I walking all the way to the gate, then another delay after we were boarded, now this was more airport related then United, but after they told us it was a 45min delay someone asked if we can use our phone or computer and the answer was a stern no with no explanation until someone got really upset, just not a professional experience, and this was why I don't fly united. But I had no choice this time."
Pros: "Nice flight attendant"
Pros: "cheap tix"
Pros: "Quick Hop"
Cons: "Just a quick hop to Denver"
Pros: "I really liked the flight attendant. He was funny and kind."
Pros: "Had a flight delay in csprings but United had plane going to Denver for delivery they put us on no one missed their connection yeah!!!!"
Cons: "This was a good trip! No complaints ."
Pros: "Status quo"
Cons: "Flight was late arriving to gate hence late leaving, had a connecting flight."
Pros: "My flight out of COS was delayed by 3 and a half hours yet my connecting flight was on time. They were unable to get me another connecting flight without me being held up and landing at the wee hours of the morning. It wasn't until I demanded an upgrade from United that I was placed on an American Airlines flight. This would never have been offered if I didn't go off on the representative and demand it. American Airlines saved the day! Never again will I fly United."
Cons: "Everything.. flight never happened. Upgrade was never offered until I demanded it. The experience was so bad that I will never book with them again. They also still owe me my baggage fee back. That should be interesting."
Pros: "Flew to Austin instead of Houston because of weather. Then flew to Houston after 4 hours chilling on a plane in Austin!"
Cons: "Flight missed and now sitting here in an empty airport waiting for my next day flight at 650PM. Btw all local hotels are booked. Thank you United for stranding an active duty Soldier!"
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "Multiple long delays."
Pros: "Boarding was fast although the flight was delayed 15 minutes. The were very quick and kind."
Cons: "The seat kept slowly reclining and I had to continually pull the seat up. I paid extra because it was Economy Plus and had extra leg room."
Pros: "Great Crew! Very professional. Great communication. Very Comfortable."
Cons: "Upgraded seat on Airbus to phone charger and there wasn't one!"
Pros: "Everyone we dealt with was unbelievably kind and helpful. They had a wheelchair at the gate and helped push my disabled brother which was such a help for my elderly parents to make their connections. When I got my parents their tickets I was very apprehensive that it might be difficult making the connections but thanks to United's wonderful service their whole experience was fantastic. In the future I will always try to book United."
Pros: "Liked the staff, always friendly even with several delays. The assist staff were excellent"
Cons: "Did not like the delays and gate changes - but that wasn't the airlines' fault"
Pros: "Went fine...short only 16 min flight"
Cons: "No food :("
Pros: "Dirty, tired airplane. This (and every other flight going out around our gate) was "oversold"- egging travelers to give up their seats"
Pros: "the plane was on time, smooth take off and landing, crew was efficient and friendly. it was great !"
Pros: "It was quick."
Cons: "I had to RUN through the airport to get connecting flight. I had to pay and check a carry-on because my first flight was delayed and there wasn't time to wait for my bag. If I'd have known I'd have taken a regular sized suitcase."
Cons: "Boarding is disorganized"
Pros: "The crew were very understanding that we all just wanted to be home (the flight was delayed for three hours, so we didn't get home until 2am). They were efficient and got us home safely and quickly."
Cons: "I was not impressed with United and how they handled the delay. The staff did not care that we were waiting for 5 hours for a plane they couldn't even guarantee was coming. No workers were at the gate for a long time to even help out customers."
Pros: "Short flight"
Cons: "Plane was delayed 1 hrs because short of crew member"
Pros: "Short lflight"
Cons: "NA"
Pros: "My flight wasn't full so I had no one sitting next to me."
Cons: "Snack wasn't very good"
Pros: "Crew was very nice and was very responsive with passengers."
Cons: "Flight was delayed so we ended up arriving about 40 minutes late. Not enough leg room which ends up making lots of people grumpy."
Pros: "Well organized, enjoyable flight"
Cons: "Na"
Pros: "Time of flight"
Cons: "Crew. The flight attendant in the forward cabin was rude and yelled at the passengers."
Pros: "Time and confort"
Pros: "Plane was very comfortable. Attendants were friendly and it was very smooth and quick!"
Pros: "The attendant was very courteous and kind. The gate agent was prompt and efficient."
Cons: "Everything went well."
Pros: "I liked that I could do self check in and get my boarding pass without joining a long line. Had a great flight and no complaints."
Pros: "Very nice staff, curtious and professional."
Cons: "In flight snack and beverage prices' seemed a bit over kill. I understand a profit needs to be made, but come on... $4 for a yogurt parfait or $8 for a shot of rum... it's a bit much. How about not so much focus on the almighty dollar."
Pros: "I recoment it..."
Cons: "No complementary food!!!"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Yes"
Pros: "Smooth flight"
Cons: "Beverages and snacks"
Pros: "Smooth take off, flight and landing."
Cons: "We were three hours late leaving—combination late arrival of plane and weather. Not much legroom and hard seats that don’t recline, no complimentary in flight snack/beverage, no entertainment options. For what you end up paying for a ticket when seat and baggage fees are added, I would expect more"
Pros: "The crew members were very nice and professional."
Cons: "The seats are just horrible and always hurt my back after a long flight."
Pros: "Pretty much nothing"
Cons: "Tray tables the size of my cell phone. Had to pay $50 a piece for each item checked or carried on. Seats don't recline. You have to pay for any snack or refreshments while on the plane. No entertainment options, not even a magazine. Armrests didn't fold all the way up. Flight attendant wouldn't allow any switching of seats even though an entire row of seats was empty. Flight crew all looked and acted worn out and cranky. I recieved no forward notice of the cost of luggage and carry on items until I reached the ticket counter, and then would've had to pay a fee in order to cancel my trip with them. This is classic bait and switch with predatory tactics. The woman at the ticket counter tried to tell me that they were still the cheapest airline available to which I replied. "You are a complete liar. It would have cost us 8 more dollars to go with a United flight instead, but overall would have saved me. 92$ in the long run with a much more comfortable flight and complimentary refreshments. Not only will I never fly frontier again, I will tell anyone willing to listen to not fly frontier as well."
Cons: "Sam as above."
Pros: "Modern planes. Good on board crew."
Cons: "2.5 hour delay, no explanation why."
Cons: "The seats are incredibly thin with nearly no padding and don't recline. No complimentary drinks or snacks. Tray table is too small to be of any use"
Pros: "Upgraded leg room is significant. Boarding was easy."
Cons: "No in flight entertainment, very minimally padded seats. Had to wait to check our bags as the front desk was vacant for about 1hr not having any flights before ours."
Pros: "I'm glad the boarding process is typically quick to stay on schedule."
Cons: "There should be a message when booking through travel sites about having to pay additionally for your seat and even carry-on baggage at the time of check-in. This never used to be policy for Frontier and I was shocked to pay $68 from Columbus to Denver and then $58 on the way back just for my carry-on and seat. I also had two unattended toddlers behind me on the way home which were disturbing the entire flight. Their mother chose to sit across the aisle for some reason and they were literally screaming the entire way. Perhaps an adult or parental guardian should be required to sit with children under the age of 6? Come on."
Cons: "Our plane landed late, we boarded late, and arrived in Columbus nearly an hour late."
Pros: "Friendly helpful staff. This was my first flight and I was nervous. They were very understanding. I also had some motion sickness and the flight attendants made sure I was as comfortable as possible."
Cons: "I'm a big guy and was seated with two other big guys. Kind of cramped."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "$45 for a carry on bag....each way. Chairs with minimal, if any, padding which will not recline. Flight left 1 hour late."
Pros: "Literally nothing."
Cons: "I charged the airfare, thinking that would be all, like other airlines. Then I found out they charge for luggage. THEN I found out they charge me for a seat... on the flight I already paid for. Boarding was disorganized, seats were thin padding on plastic, quite uncomfortable. I also had to clean crumbs and trash off my seat before settling in. They charge you 2.99 each for water and airline peanuts; i didn't partake. they only gave me one boarding pass and when I boarded the plane, they said that is was the flight to Denver and then they were continuing on to Columbus. I assumed this meant I stayed on the plane when we landed in Denver, but no, they informed me the plane was then going to Cedar Rapids. I had no second boarding pass or gate number, so I asked the attendant. She took forever to help me, looking up my info for a minute and then talking to the other attendants and passing out papers to the boarding crew before acknowledging me again. Twenty minutes later, I had my gate, which I barely made to board in time for flight takeoff. Overall, the process was stressful, uncomfortable, and more expensive than if I had purchased a flight from Delta, Southwest, or Alaska. (All airlines I have flown and been happy with. Delta had a missed layover once and completely put me up for the night and was very helpful through the whole affair.) All said and done, I will not be flying Frontier again."
Cons: "They didn't know how to handle the unpleasant situation of having delay due to "the plane is having some problems and they will try to fix it asap before departure"."
Cons: "Horrible delay , uncourteous attendants , not even drinking water is free More or less every airline of America is like this except Southwest ."
Cons: "Two hours late in taking off without explanation. Change gate at last minute making a long walk necessary for someone who needs a wheel chair. Excessive charges for luggage, carry-on which some did not have to pay, and charges for drinks! Really!"
Cons: "Delay delay delay. Was not aware of all the costs added on, with paying for carry on, and water. Even the staff seemed to know the airline was not worth anything. No pride in their work or workplace."
Pros: "Passengers and crew"
Cons: "Uncomfortable and annoying seats"
Pros: "Comfortable flight, cheap rates"
Cons: "Some maintenance problems prior to boarding, gate agents not well prepared for situation, very hard to hear and understand their PA announcements"
Cons: "No complimentary food or beverage service. Almost missed flight as gate changed but not posted on board."
Pros: "Plane was clean, everything was on time."
Cons: "I had to pay 40 dollars for a checked bag and 45 dollars for a carry on, more than doubling the cost of my flight. Why not ask me when purchasing a ticket, you know, before I pay, before hooking me with 85 plus dollars in bag fees? Frontier may advertise low ticket prices but after you purchase your not-likely*refundable ticket you're on the hook for their endless fees. Even peanuts cost you. Use a different airline and save yourself the let down."
Cons: "I don't like paying $45 for a carry on"
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "They canceled my ticket without telling me me made me miss work after driving two hours to get there and everyone was so rude! Was the worst experience ever toatally messed everything up."
Pros: "What I like best is the update I get on my phone, thus during delays and how long the flight takes. I actually bought this ticket for a friend and it made trip of going to pick him up from the airport very easy."
Pros: "The flight arrived early both ways and boarded without problems. Had almost no line to check my snowboard bag and retrieved it both ways without problems. Flying with Frontier before, I understood a carry-on and drinks/snacks would cost extra and planned accordingly. Overall it was the best priced flight and I had a good experience."
Cons: "You pay enough for a flight, at least water should be offered for free. I should have looked it up, but it wasn't very clear that if I buy my checked bag at the time of purchase of the ticket that it is an even lower price."
Cons: "The hour wait for bags. No joke"
Pros: "From boarding the plane, to exiting the plane the crew was exceptional."
Cons: "the add on prices at all air lines for every little thing. bringing a bag should not be a option but a given"
Cons: "my seat was bolted more upright than the other two seats in my row leading to a VERY upright sitting posture. I told the flight attendant and she said it was just installed incorrectly and she was sorry."
Cons: "Mass confusion on correct gate, boards in airport incorrect. Frontier had to change brakes on plane which resulted in over an hour delay. I appreciate safety but they cant arrange a better majntenance program at their main hub? Reading lights above me did not work for the second time on this trp. Sat in the dark in a plastic bucket seat. Awful. I never want to fly frontier again."
Pros: "Flight was on time. Online check in and boarding was okay. Nonstop Denver to Columbus."
Cons: "I didn't like being stabbed with outrageous fees for baggage (checked and carry on). I especially didn't like seat assignment fees and no ability to keep your party seated together unless you pay their ridiculous surcharges. By the time you get done with every extra charge they rope you into you can fly any otheir airlicanard possibly for less money. In addition, the seating is terrible. Rows are crammed in tight with the new non reclining rubber pad seats that are sure to send you to the chiropractor. They have the unmitigated gall to cram their credit card sales pitch over the PA followed up with multiple trips up amddown the aisle. Hey Frontier, if I wanted a credit card sales pitch I would stay home and answer the damn robocalls. Nice way to treat your customers, especially after you stab them $3 for a drink."
Pros: "Any of my ratings other than excellent relate only to the fact Frontier is a great airline on a budget, so some issues like food and entertainment are not addressed. I had a great flight."
Cons: "-Missed checked bag check-in by 1 minute, was made to miss flight for something that could have easily been remedied -Zero help or empathy from terminal attendant from Frontier -Made to wait an HOUR AND HALF IN 5 DEGREE WEATHER in Denver by Frontier to drop off a back that was already noted as "checked" -Flight delayed 5 hours with ZERO communication of what was going on -Bags were left IN DENVER after all the trouble and discomfort invested in dropping them off. -Zero response by phone or email during all of this -No system or notification of how to retrieve the bag Frontier left in Denver In sum, it was the worst airline experience I've ever been a part of, let alone even heard of. The only way it could have been worse is if the plane crashed."
Cons: "Can't recline"
Pros: "Airfare and quick lines from Denver to Columbus"
Cons: "The plane smelled; I believe it was the seats (sour, musty smell)."
Pros: "The crew were nice and polite."
Cons: "Crowded, uncomfortable seating. Flight was overbooked. Had to pay extra for everything."
Pros: "I am not the type of person to complain about something that is expensive, if I am receiving the services I am paying for. Therefore, I cannot complain too much about Frontier since I paid so little and received what was promised: a round-trip flight at an affordable price. I understand that, in order to be competitive, stay open for business, and keep rates low, Frontier must find additional ways to accrue income besides the base fare. However, literally everything beyond a basic ticket was vastly overpriced. "You want to bring more than two tee-shirts and a book? $30." "You want a childs ration of nuts and a soda in flight? $12. You can place them on your 3 inch tray table." And then, as we near the end of an already insufferably uncomfortable flight, we must endure a 20 minute long speech over the PA about the Frontier rewards credit card. I truly appreciate that Frontier Airlines offers competitively unheard of rates for a basic fare. But aside from being allowed to bring a only a change of shirt to Denver for the weekend, sitting in a dingy/cramped plane next to a stranger because I would not pay $42 extra to sit next to a friend, and being forced to listen to the desperate plea of a credit card signup quota, I will next time happily pay the traditional rate to take a flight somewhere where I am treated like I am not a passenger on a Malaysian Airlines flight that has somewhere along the way become lost between the importance of customer satisfaction and competitive prices."
Cons: "Maybe I should have chosen to write that down here instead. Although I am sure I will not be charged additional fees to both compliment and complain, I believe this all goes to the same department."
Cons: "Paying for a carry on bag"
Pros: "Overall smooth ride"
Cons: "Having almost 2 hour delay with no explaination."
Pros: "Stewards were professional"
Cons: "Experience started with sitting on plane for 2 hours or more while maintenance was fixing thermostat, then plane was shut down for 10 mins., then had to wait another 10 for plane to reboot. All this didn't work, so we were told get all your stuff, get off plane then go wait at another gate to reboard another plane...so family plans were ruined since we all arrived 3 hrs later starving, thirsty & tired.. . No compensation was offered for all the inconvenience and we paid a high price for this flight that you had to pay a lot for a carry on. Flight home was at least 2 hr delay. Also not sure why entertainment is on survey since there wasn't any, or food since not even peanuts were offered and comfort??? Noticed less space pet person since my last flight and even the tray was tiny. None of our group of 7 will fly Frontier again, and will make sure everyone who asks about our trip will hear about our awful experience w/Frontier."
Pros: "Best value for price you could ask for."
Pros: "Check in and the security screen took an hour and a half, flight delayed an hour in beautiful weather. NO TSA Pre-Check at Frontier's home base."
Pros: "Airfare appeared to be affordable and competitive. Typical flying experience."
Cons: "I just took a small backpack and duffel bag. They made me pay $40 each way for the duffel bag! I thought every airline at least gave you a personal item and carry-on. This put me in a position of having to put $80 on my personal card for a work trip or to abandon my bag. Ridiculous! I don't like being put in that situation and will remember it next time I go to book. I also recognize they need to make some money off of snacks and drinks, but to not even provide a complimentary drink of water feels extra stingy too."
Pros: "It was on time"
Cons: "The most acute plane discomfort imaginable"
Pros: "Everything was terrible. First i wasnt notified anywhere on my purchase that Frontier charges a fee for checked bags ANd carry ones!! Then everyone was super rude at me at chekc in. In Denver every check in machine wsd malfunctioninf. This caused huge lines and several people were visibly pissed cuz they misse their flights. I was rudely treated too and yelled at because i inquired how is it possible all machines wre down. Apparently this happens to them in a weekly basis."
Pros: "How quick the flight was"
Cons: "We will never be flying with frontier again. Not only do you have to pay for your carry on luggage and SEAT both ways, but for the food on your flight! I've never been so outraged on how much I had to pay. And their staff is very rude, especially going into Columbus from Denver. And the fact that you have to pay for your seat is ridiculous because the seats weren't even comfortable and they were dirty. I had trash at my seat both ways. I wish we hadn't flown with frontier. I've never. When sk deisappointed on an airline."
Pros: "It was a flight home"
Cons: "Flight was 1.5 hours late due to previous flight at the gate. Gate attendant was rude to several people when the designated city on the gate "sign" changed but they were still boarding previous city. The seats are the most uncomfortable of any airline I have ever flown (I travel 25% for business)."
Pros: "Not much to like."
Cons: "Just ridiculous, as follows: 1-Deceptive web page at check in makes you think paying extra for seats is required 2-Seats don't recline unless you PAY EXTRA 3-Carry on bag? PAY EXTRA 4-Care for a Soda? PAY EXTRA 5-Tray table - the size of a business envelope? Really? 6-In-flight magazine? HA! Read the safety info or the back of the barf bag, that's all Frontier provides. 7-Paid $50 each to upgrade seats to front (1st class?) No refreshments, no amenities, just a bigger tray table and a reclining seat. For $50. Sat on tarmac for 1.5 hours in 90 degree heat. I know this because I could hear the pilot yelling over the radio that it was 90 degrees in the plane. No A/C while on tarmac because APU was down, according to pilot announcement. Everyone I talked to felt deceived by the online check in and the extra charge for seats (if you want to sit with your party, otherwise no guarantees). Bad representation, deceptive web check in, uncomfortable plane, zero amenities unless you PAY EXTRA. Sorry Frontier, but FAIL!!!!"
Pros: "Direct from CMH to DIA"
Cons: "Seats are one shade shy from a metal folding chair, they don't recline, charge for everything g except water! Who charges for carry on bags!?!? Frontier!!!"
Cons: "Same as above."
Pros: "Crew and personnel were nice. Boarding was easy. Flight was comfortable in regard to seat, quietness, and communication from the pilot."
Cons: "Some passengers took their masks off and were not told by the crew to put them back on (they were not eating nor drinking). Also, crew made an announcement that we would do a social distance departure and for everyone to remain seated until it was their (row's) turn. However, several passengers ignored this. The crew did not enforce the social distance departure. They should / could have continued to enforce these rules over the loud speaker as a general statement if they didn't want to actually confront individuals. -- for both masks and to wait in their seat."
Pros: "Stewardesses were very nice and pleasant. We left timely and arrived on time."
Cons: "My seat got randomly assigned and I was put on the back row window seat with no window. I wish I could have selected my seat from a list of free spots (w/o extra charge). I don’t like that you are charged for everything: seat change, water, and any snack. I would expect at least water as passengers get dehydrated from flying. Seats are uncomfortable, not much space from seat in front, and there is no recline. Feels crammed. Lacks hospitality majorly as I am charged for every little thing. I hope they don’t start charging for oxygen intake. I was not informed of entertainment options, but I’m sure they were not inexpensive. I will not be flying with Spirit Airlines again. There are other airline options that are less expensive (after you add all the additional fees up) and much more comfortable and hospitable."
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "My flight was delayed 7 hours. I never recieved an e-mail letting me know of this even though I gave my email when I bought the tickets so that I would get updates on the flight. I checked the flight status before leaving my house at 2am and the flight was still on time. After driving 2 hours to the airport and going through security I found out that my flight was being delayed 7 hours and no representative was even at the gate to speak with. All I was given was one $14 meal voucher which didn’t even cover a full meal at the airport. It’s told that the issue was mechanical but I later found out that te first flight had been over booked and the 1pm flight didn’t have enough people on it so they made everyone on at 6am flight wait until 1pm to fly out. Once on the plane, the seats were hard and uncomfortable and the plane was cold. I am extremely disasiflied and will never use Spirit again."
Cons: "40lbs is the bag limit?!? Absurd. That should definitely be made more obvious before checking in. Paid $40 to precheck and then another $30 because bag was 47lbs. Seats are tiny and beyond uncomfortable. Flight crew dropped a soda and it exploded on myself and the woman next to me. They had an attitude about it and then expected us to still purchase food/drink. A complimentary beverage could have been offered at the very least. Checked luggage came out smelling like vinegar got poured over my bag. Nice $70 treatment. I will NEVER EVER fly Spirit again."
Pros: "I like that the flight was on time and got from Denver to LA."
Cons: "I didn’t like that from the time I got a boarding pass upon arrival at the airport, to when I was boarding, something changed and I was not notified until I got to the front of the line to board the plane and the attendant went to scan my pass and told me (with very vague direction) to go get a new boarding pass at the counter. By this time the area is completely full of people lined up to get on two different flights, so navigating out of line and then back into line once i has the new boarding pass was a disaster."
Pros: "Tickets were super cheap! Kiosk check-in was a breeze, as was boarding. The plane felt pretty new, with comfy seats and decent leg room. The crew were professional and courteous, and many snack and drink options were available.. Any additional costs were very well indicated, in kiosk check-in, as well as the in-flight snack menu. Minor delay was well documented and announced (national ATC issue slowed the plane's arrival 15 minutes; accounting for that 15 minute shift, everything else ran on schedule)."
Cons: "Nothing is included. In exchange for those super cheap tickets, anything beyond the "one personal item" is charged a la carte, so plan to pay for any additional carryons, any luggage, seat choice, any (ANY) drink, snack, water, coffee, soda (but at least they seem to take plastic)."
Pros: "Crew were jovial and witty"
Cons: "Being charged for every ounce of baggage. Nightmare queues at bag drop and security"
Pros: "There was nothing to like."
Cons: "They delayed our flight twice, then ultimately cancelled the flight. Problem is, we drove 9 hours from Salt Lake City to Denver in order to get these cheap flights. We were headed to visit family and had things scheduled for the next day, including tickets to a baseball game. They told us we had to wait 24 hours for their next flight out, and by this point we weren't sure that flight wouldn't be cancelled as well. They said it was due to "weather" and "air traffic congestion", yet literally every other airline still flew their planes out of Denver that night. It basically translates into: "Here at Spirit we're the lowest on the totem pole." and better yet their customer service was so horrible they could not care less about their customers. We then read thousands of negative reviews about this airline and their frequent cancellations, horrible customer service, etc. and wondered how in the world we allowed ourselves to book tickets with this world-class organization. So now we're stuck in Denver with nowhere to stay. We ended up feeling more comfortable booking tickets with a legitimate airliner for the following morning, and had to get a hotel for the night. Then since we arrived to our destination at a different time than planned our family was no longer able to pick us up and we had to spend $70 on a cab. In the long run it ended up costing us a few hundred more dollars to get to our destination so that we could still do the things we'd had planned. Oh also, they didn't even call us or anything about the cancellation. One of us just happened to check our email and we noticed the flight cancellation. So that's great. And the cherry on top was when we called to get a bloody refund they shorted us $20. So my $20 is now floating around in Spirit cyberspace along with my dignity and sanity. If I could give these guys less than one star I would."
Pros: "Their employees were pleasant enough"
Cons: "My return flight got cancelled and over 24 hours later I still haven't been able to even speak to their customer service to get a refund. I ended up purchasing another ticket on Southwest because I had to get home and Spirit didn't have any flights until about 24 hours later. The cheapest crummiest airline out there. You have to pay to check in at the airport. You have to pay for carry on luggage. You have to pay for everything. The flight was uncomfortable and they won't even give you water. Literally everything is an extra charge, and there are about 10 pop up screens trying to get you to purchase extra stuff every time you try to navigate their website. I won't be flying them again."
Cons: "During a difficult weather situation, Spirit was absolutely useless and left us stranded for a week. With storms on the East Coast, Spirit cancelled flights two days in a row (as did all other airlines). However, with Spirit, the website was useless for rebooking ourselves, and there were so few representatives at the airport and to reach a rep on the phone that we waited several hours just to be able to rebook at the airport. In the end, Spirit could not get us on another flight out for 7 more days. Causing extreme additional expense to me and my travel partner. I will never risk flying Spirit again."
Pros: "Friendly employees"
Cons: "Spirit canceled our flight and their only solution was refund or wait 3 days until they could get us home. Had to spend thousands to rebook to get us home the next day on another again. Never again."
Pros: "i have flown spirit multiple times out of phoenix in all kinds of weather and not once has it ever taken off on time! once the airline attendant even yelled at the passengers upon arrival at the gate like we were all children. I decided to check the status today instead of waiting in the airport for four hours and yes--- again it was delayed one hour and then two hours. so I planed accordingly and planned to be at the airport 1.5 hours ahead of the revised flight time. then they changed the flight time again and now I've missed my flight. this airline is absolutely the worst and I have flown domestically and internationally for over 35 years. I'm done with you spirit!"
Pros: "Spirit is the worst airline I have come across in my life. They cancelled our connecting flight and refused to refund the entire fare, as well as apologizing to us that there were no more flights available and there was no other flight they could put us on. This airline is actually no cheaper than any others when you add the enormous amount of hidden fees and charges, and you'd better like low quality in everything you do if you fly spirit. Thank god American Airlines had a flight at the same time and we were able to make it home in time for work the following morning, but to say that spirit is a garbage airline is a colossal insult to the hardworking men and women in the waste management industry. The CEO of spirit should resign in disgrace. Also they charge for water. Good luck dying if you're prone to dehydration. --Ratchan"
Cons: "I had an important business trip on Sunday 12/18. I bought a ticket for a Spirit flight. I didn't print my ticket at home - thought I'd just go to Spirit's ticket counter, and they'd take care of it. BUT The agent said I'd missed the cut-off. She wouldn't honor or print my ticket - even though i probably could have made it through Security and made my flight. I WAS 5 minutes later to the airport than I wanted to be, due to a delay on public transit. That was all it took. I asked the agent if she would please print the ticket and let me try to make the flight. If i missed it, I said i'd eat the cost of the ticket. No. Because the agent would not budge, wouldn't even print the ticket so I could take my own chances at my own risk, I missed an important business trip."
Pros: "Clean and friendly staff"
Cons: "NTR"
Cons: "I paid $190 for the plane ticket based on the price comparisons on Kayak. Because of this hasty and naieve commitment, I ended up being forced to pay $200 more (surprise!!) for round trip tickets for my carryon and checked bag. If i had wanted to choose my seats (extra a charge) or have a snack on the flight (extra charge) this flight would have been immensely expensive. And the seats are incredibly hard, uncomfortable and do not recline. Almost $400 for a round trip of discomfort and unpleasant surprise charges...I'm betting this airline will go out of business quickly due to lack of repeat customers."
Pros: "Random seating got me a front row seat in the bigger seats. That was a plus."
Cons: "My flight was delayed for 5 hours on the way there because of a problem with a valve then a computer malfunction, the crew didn't handle it well when people understandably were upset asking for an eta and were told, "15 minutes, 15 more minutes, 15 more minutes..." over and over for 5 hours. They could have at least provided a complimentary drink. The flight attendants didn't were not customer service oriented at all. They were visibly flustered and rude about the whole thing. When the head flight attendant was asked "Should we just never fly spirit airlines again?" She answered with a "mmhmm" and a nod of her head. Also, They charge 50$ to carry on a bag....? Never heard of that one. I will not fly t his airline ever again."
Pros: "Very cheap flight! Nice attendants. Good pilot. I seriously didn't even feel the touchdown. I never experienced that before!"
Cons: "I was lucky enough to only be traveling with a small backpack - which is good - because if you didn't pre-pay for a carry-on, we were told by the gate agent it would be $65. And if you didn't come up and pay the $65 - it would be $100 when you boarded! What?! All economy seats are small now but at least they recline a little. These didn't - and they're smaller. The most painful flight I've ever had (only 6 feet tall) - the seat is stick straight! if you have a carry-on and especially luggage - just pay the extra for another airline. The price will definitely even out and you'll get a seat you can actually breath in! At one point they were trying to sell so many extras I thought they were going to start a time-share pitch. So unless you just have a back pack or purse - stick with another airline."
Pros: "Hmmm"
Cons: "I woke up at 4:30 am in Denver to catch my 8 am flight to Los Angeles. I had to catch 2 trains to get to the airport and missed my check in time by 2 minutes. LITERALLY 2 minutes! I was the only one in line behind another couple just to correct the issue. The ladies at the service counter were less than happy to be there, probably because they have to hear about all the terrible stuff that happens when people fly Spirit. They said I had to be checked in 45 minutes to boarding and I got there 43 minutes to boarding. The lady informed me that I have to get another flight, with a layover, and land in LA 5 hours after the original landing. On top of that, I had to pay $99 for their inconvenience? Here's the kicker! I got through TSA and what do I see? The plane I was supposed to be on to LA still parked and boarding! On top of this, no courtesy email reminder to check in. Horrible! They need to brush up on basic customer service. Spirit airlines is the biggest con in the sky. I booked flights with them before and have had ok experiences, but this ridiculous. I have a Spirit flight to Chicago on November 5th which I booked through Kayak that I'm already dreading."
Pros: "Flight arrived somewhat on time. Boarding wasn't a disaster."
Cons: "Spirit uses every opportunity they can to charge you for something, then pat themselves on the back for offering a stripped-down, low cost service. Base fare - $90 Selecting a seat - $20 Carry on Bag - $45 Printing out your boarding pass at the airport - $10 Water onboard the plane - $3 All told, the flight ended up costing me nearly double the base fare because of all of the fun "extras" I had to pay for. Meanwhile, my very nice American Airlines flight on the way to Denver cost $70 with no extra charges attached. Yes, they literally charge you an additional fee to select any seat - there's no seat included with the base fare. Yes, they literally charge you to carry on a bag. Yes, they literally charge you at the check-in counter to print out your boarding pass. Yes, they literally charge you for water while you're on board the plane. Yes, they literally cram more seats into a plane than any other airline, then tell you to "cozy up and high-five your neighbor for how much money you're saving." Then while you're on the plane, they have the flight crew mongering the Spirit Airlines Visa card as if they haven't already done enough to debase the notion of good customer service. But the fact that Spirit goes out of its way to offer the worst possible flight experience, then tries to act like it's doing you, the passenger, a favor, is simply infuriating. Spirit, we get it, you're a terrible airline that milks every line item of the purchase like a sleazy car salesman. Don't act like something you're not."
Pros: "Plane seemed updated."
Cons: "A Spirit ticket clerk in Detroit was the worst human being I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with and ruined any possibility of me enjoying any single aspect of my flight with Spirit airlines. Spirit also has a horrible automated customer service phone system. The process of getting a human being on the phone felt intentionally difficult. I had to do a bit of online research in order to finally find the sequence of numbers to push in order reach a living person. On my return flight from Denver I was mislead into paying 110 dollars for two carry-on items that didn't require purchase, however the ticket clerk did her best to refund the price of the two carry-on items (I have yet to see the refund pend or post to my account, but we'll see.)"
Pros: "I booked a flight to Colorado for a wedding. I'm poor, so every little bit helps. The cabin crews both times were cheerful and friendly."
Cons: "I bought two checked bags (one for there, one for back). I didn't want to spend the money, but I was in the bridal party (thankfully able to use one of my old dresses), so I had to have the extra space. But at the airport I discovered that the bag I was bringing was instead able to be brought onboard as a free "personal item." The people at the counter assured me that I would get a refund. Well, no refund. I get a "credit" for free checked bags, which I have to use within the next two months or it expires! How can I possibly afford another ticket, do they think their low prices attract jet-setters? This is actually not a good thing for me, I really am poor (like, I had to give up lunch for a month in order to afford a checked bag, poor), and I am very unhappy about this. I will not fly Spirit again. I hope they enjoy my $60."
Cons: "Passengers were not offered water - only beverages for sale. Crew turned on lights during the late evening flight to play a "customer appreciation week" trivia game (which prevented anyone from sleeping or resting), and then - very loudly - promoted a credit card. Seats do not recline at all. In addition to this unpleasant return flight, I had a disastrous experience getting to Denver in the first place - I had to book seats on a Southwest flight after Spirit closed our outbound flight from Detroit ridiculously early. Spirit makes it very difficult to check in online, and the Spirit counter at Detroit lacks adequate signage to direct passengers to check in at kiosks immediately upon arrival. We had a bag to check, so we simply got in line for the counter, when apparently we needed to check in immediately at a kiosk - when we reached the counter, our flight had been closed."
Pros: "The cost of the trip was very low - with all the frills removed, air travel can be relatively cheap. Plan ahead - you will not be able to use TSA Pre-Check, you will have to pay extra to carry on a bag (so buy your bag online at the airline's website before you go to the airport - this is the cheapest way to do it as they charge you more to purchase the carry-on at the check-in counter and even more if you wait until the boarding gate), and you will have to pay for all beverages including water and provide your own in-flight entertainment. If you plan ahead and know what you're getting into, flying Spirit can be a pleasant experience. The flight staff is friendly and polite."
Cons: "The seats are very close together - don't expect to have any leg room - and they do not recline. Bring a neck pillow if you have any intention of sleeping."
Pros: "It was simple and convenient and got me where I was trying to go cheaply. It was fairly clean n what not and I liked how kind of hip it felt with their process and design. It really does feel like a modern airline sort of like an uber or something but in order to make it cheap they do cut down on pretty much anything that makes the experience kind of luxurious. The chairs were quite thin for example and no in flight food was complimentary. I was able to take my large backpack on the flight free as a personal item so that was great too. They have a metal frame to check the size of your item. If it fits in there it can be a personal item. My backpack was able to squeeze but typical carry on's may not. It also really felt like an airline for the youth which goes along with that kind of young and hip feel. Good stuff."
Cons: "The thin somewhat stiff chairs were difficult to sleep in."
Pros: "I chose Spirit's flights from a listing on Kayak. The flight APPEARED to be less expensive than others listed."
Cons: "I was furious to discover large additional charges after my nonrefundable fare was purchased. Having to pay an additional charge for a basic seat was an insult. Why wouldn't a basic seat be included in the ticket price? The ticket can't be used without one! Having flown on another airline a very few months ago with no charge for a carryon bag, HavING to not only pay for a single carryon, but pay more than the cost of checking the bag was infuriating. Findng additional charges for even a small soft drink during the flight simply added to the offensive sales practices. Having duly paid these fees, the extremely tight spacing of the seats allowed for absolutely no movement during the flight. Immovabe seat backs and cheap hard molded plastic seats did nothing to alleviate the feeling of disregard for customers. During and after the flight, I heard a steady stream of customers saying that they would never fly with this airline again."
Pros: "Flight was on time. Flight was comfortable. Crew was kind."
Cons: "Hidden fees were angering. It is marketed as unbundling, but this isn't advertised until its to late. i was shocked when I checked in online and was required to select a seat and tonpay an additional fee for it. Because other, less expensive seats were taken,I had to pay $50 for a seat on a flight that I already paid for. There was a fee for my bag, regardless if I check or carry on. Everyone has at least one bag! Unless I'm flying to be there for a couple of hours, I need a bag how dare you charge me for a seat and one carry on size bag. These things are standard. Food was very limited and very overpriced for the minuscule items. I had to pay $2.00 for about 10oz of coffee. In the end, Also, none of the seats on the flight recline so forget being comfortable and resting on the flight b In the end I paid more for this flight that I did when I made the same trip in Jet Blue. This "unbundling" is a marketing tactic designed to sooo customers into spending money on additional (some required) fees. I will never fly spirit again."
Pros: "Cheap--but time is not worth that savings"
Cons: "Flight was hours and hours late, with multiple flights cancelled before all piled into this one. Worse, poor communication alerted us flight was late, then after we delayed leaving for airport accordingly a new message said flight was on time after all. On arrival at airport, flight was indeed late--but more than two hours later than originally stated. Poor relatives had to pick up my son at arrival airport at 1:00 in the morning. We will never, ever, fly your airline again, and will tell everyone how unhappy we were with trying to save a little money with you."
Pros: "The flight it self was ok very friendly flight attendants"
Cons: "When checking in could not choose my seats when I was checking in my luggage took way to long the person that was assisting me seemed very in knowledgable clueless to be honest told me that the person at the gate would help with the seating she could not give me a receipt for checking in my luggage when I got to the gate the gentleman there told me that I would have to hold back and see if there even be a seat for me at all that the flight was very full I book my flights a month in advance that was the last thing I wanted to hear was getting very upset than another gentleman came over and assigned me our seats so over all I would give them a D+ at the best guess I just expected more professional company hope the return flight goes better"
Cons: "This was the worst flight experience I have ever had. Spirit switched their flight to a smaller airplane at the last minute and left about a dozen passengers without a seat, left stranded on a flight they PAID FOR, checked in online for, and ARRIVED AT THE AIRPORT over 2 hours in advance for. They refused to communicate with us as we waited. They were completely understaffed and left a single employee to handle this. His ineptitude delayed the entire flight and stranded passengers remained stranded. Horrible, incompetent, disorganized, and completely Spirit's fault."
Pros: "There was absolutely nothing special or worth returning for on this airline."
Cons: "The reality of airline travel is that almost every person brings luggage. Your airline has taken advantage of this allowing me to book my flight with your airline all to be charged a rediculous amount for luggage. That was only the beginning of the disappointment. Then you have managed to squeeze even more $ out of us by charging an "optional" seat choice because all people have seating prefrances. All that aside your damn company is so cheap that you won't even give us a free drink/ soda or juice. God knows after the flight, luggage and seats I feel like everyone has paied enough that you should be able to give us a lousy drink. I asked for a cup of ice and never recieved it. Flight attendants were pretty snippy and one of them damanded that I "pull down the window shade" claiming to keep the plane cool. In all of my life and all the flights I have been on I choose a window seat whenever possible and have never been asked to close my shade by a flight attendant. Hell if it needs to be closed you might as well not even put windows in. After all that to to it off my bag did not come out of the carrocel when I got home. It was turned off and left over bags collected. The lady who was helping started to call around and investigate. Ironically I decided to get the insurance and when I brought that to her attention she tells me that spirit has no association with the insurance and it was my responsibility to "hire a lawyer" and bring this to this unknown insurance company that won't even work with the baggage handlers. The while thing was a compleat disappointment from beginning to end. Lucky for you guys there are enough people in this world so you don't have to rely on return passengers."
Pros: "Some of the flight attendents were hilarious! It almost (not quite) makes up for their poor service."
Cons: "They cancelled our flight on the way back, which happens a lot I understand. The earlist flight they could give us was more than a week later, and they offered no other solutions. We ended up spending twice as much as we were given back for our cancelled flight in order to get home. Not only were they not helpful in finding this flight (my husband had to run around the airport looking for a flight home) but they also could not confirm the amount that would be refunded when we called back later. They also give you a lot of hidden fees (i.e. $90 for a carryon rountrip)."
Pros: "Despite what it felt like; they didn't actually beat me with a stick."
Cons: "My car broke down on the way to the airport. The airlines wanted to charge me $300 (+100 for a bag) for a one way ticket to my destination when my original round trip ticket ticket costed 150 (+100 for one bag).. Not only did spirit fail to refund either of my plane tickets they also kept the bag charges. I had to deal with customer representatives on the phone three time. All the representatives were nearly impossible to hear due to their low volume and nearly impossibly to understand because of their thick accents. By far the worst travel experience I've ever had."
Pros: "Walking on to the plane I was greeted by two flight attendants who were very freindly and making small talk with almost everyone who came onto the plane. The captain was also standing in the doorway to the cabin and was greeting passengers as they boarded. I noticed that the captain had brought two young children in to the cabin to show them the front of the plane, I didn't know that happened any more! I was VERY impressed and have never experinced such kindness and professionalism on a flight. Thank you for making the flight the best experience I've ever had on a major airline! Flight NK382 from Denver on Fri July 15, 2016. Blown away."
Pros: "nothing"
Cons: "I am a short person who doesn't need much in the way of space on an airline. I've always been fairly comfortable and usually fall directly to sleep. The seats on this plane were excruciatingly uncomfortable. No cushion to the seats whatsoever. The tray table, if you could call it that, was about 4 inches wide - couldn't even set my crossword book on it. the man in from of me spilled his drink all over himself and the aisle because it's so wonky. 4 hours on this plane and my neck, back, head hurt. The plane fares are not low enough to make up for this. I actually PAID for this seat above and beyond the original fare. WTH"
Pros: "The flight was very cost effective."
Cons: "There was a presentation made to all passengers midflight trying to get everyone to sign up for a credit card in return for a "free" flight on the airline, presented as a gift. As a captive audience member, I found this very unprofessional, especially since the airline first proclaimed that all passengers could have a free flight then appended their statement with "as long as you sign up for a Spirit credit line." I also don't like the $10 charge for a printed boarding pass at the airport from Spirit; I understand the concept of modularizing costs, but there is no way the act of printing a pass for a passenger costs the airline remotely close to $10. It is a clear attempt to capitalize on a customer's forgetfullness."
Pros: "Boarding was relatively quick and easy."
Cons: "While the flight crew was perfectly friendly, the credit card announcements they made on behalf of Spirit were very loud, disruptive, and ill-timed. Like myself, most customers prefer to sleep or rest quietly during red-eye flights. This was all but impossible during my late night flight from Denver to Detroit. Approximately half way through the flight (after 10pm local time and after midnight for the time of our destination) the bright cabin lights came on and stayed on for the duration of the flight. I assume this was to keep everyone awake for the loud and incredibly drawn out announcement about in-flight credit card offers. This severely impacted my comfort and the comfort of others, as we were forced to play captive audience. I felt like I was enduring a hard-sell tactic from a timeshare salesman, only there was no means of escape. I respectfully suggest that Spirit limit the length of credit card advertisements, and refrain from announcing them all together on flights late at night or early morning (or at the very least engineer a less disruptive form of communicating these offers). After completing the final leg of my roundtrip journey, I will not be flying with Spirit again. Thank you for your time."
Pros: "Plane was clean and the crew was friendly and professional. Spirit refunded part of my ticket when my connecting flight was cancelled."
Cons: "After flying Spirit Airlines for the first time, I came to realize a cheap flight doesn't save you money in the long run. Flight delays, cancellations, and added costs meant I didn't save any money flying with Spirit. I booked a flight from Cleveland to Denver with a lay over in Dallas. My lay over in Dallas was canceled due to weather. I understand that the airline doesn't have any control over the weather but they can control how they treat their customers. The best Spirit could do was offer me a flight to my final destination 21/2 days later. Meaning I would be stuck in Dallas for 2 days and I would have to pay for a hotel out of pocket. I ended up paying for a hotel overnight ($171) and booking a flight first thing in the morning with Frontier airlines ($89). Coming back, once again there was problems in Dallas during my lay over. The flight was delayed 3 hours."
Pros: "Because carry on bags cost more than checked, the line to check in is quite long but boarding is generally quite smooth because you have fewer people fighting for overhead space."
Cons: "Spirit's big claim and advertising push is that they will save you money by only making you pay only for what you need. In theory that's great. But their practices make it clear they're not in the business to save you money but rather to entice you with a cheap base fare and then find lots of individual places where they can price gouge. When my husband booked tickets, they told us that checked bags would be $21. We factored that in to the price and decided this was still there most affordable option. But I guess you had to pay right then, because when I checked in the night before, it cost me $40 per bag. And my husband checked in day of and was charged $50. We also couldn't sit together because they wanted to charge $9 to pick seats. It doesn't cost the airline anything to let us pick seats nor twice as much to carry your bag if you pay for it on flight day, so these extra fees and escalating prices don't say "we're all about saving you money," as they claim. In the end, we paid $195 in bag fees (40+50+40+40+25 for one bag over 40 pounds), couldn't sit together, and didn't even get a glass of water."
Pros: "My second row seat was quite spacious"
Cons: "Flight was delayed for over three hours. Then once on board we were constantly told how many minutes until we would be leaving then sat there probably 20 minutes past that time. Overall I was probably sitting around for three times the actual length of my flight. They gave everyone a $50 voucher for their troubles which was nice, but it has used to book within the next two months. Seriously? I really do not even want to fly Spirit again ever and now they are giving me a time constraint to make up for their inadequacies. Terrible airline."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "The flight was delayed then cancelled. We were given the choice of refund that will arrive a week later or to take a flight a 9 pm tomorrow. The reason for the cancellation was said to me a crew "time-out" that was caused by the rain. There was no other compensation for the cancellation nor did they get ahold of everyone to let them know it was cancelled. After dealing with the gate I found the customer service desk and waited for 2 hours just to talk to someone and was told nothing they could do."
Pros: "Crew was helpful. Like flight attendants. And the pilots were very informative."
Cons: "I'm traveling with my Five year old and you make me pay for a seat? Otherwise we will have random seats and there's no guarantee we will sit together...by the way it's $18 a person? Wow!!! Also my bag was $55 and it was under 20 pounds. So all together I spent $100 just walking into the air port. Honestly now I know and I'll never fly spirt again told all my friends and family in social media as well. For as much as I spent flying with you I could have flown with any other airlines and wouldn't have gotten this shocker paying for an assigned seat with my daughter. Good luck to you all....no wonder you are the worst air line in America, glad to see you're doing all you can to keep that title."
Pros: "this flight was delayed for 3 hours. i ened up looseing my job because of it. i called and complained and no one can do anything but give me 50$ on my next flight with you guys BUT I WILL NEVER fly spirit again. I WANT MY MONEY BACK also on the flight you guys were charging for water are you kidding me?!!!??? after being delayed and having upset flyers you should at least do a free drink. ALSO your flight attendant wouldnt sell any alcohol on the flight which was dumb and probably wouldnt have happened if you did something nice for the people flying. like a free drink..."
Cons: "Did not like the fact that i was on time to my flight but my flight didnt not leave for an hour after it was schedualed due to a "computer" problem. It didnt seem like much was wrong since all the mechanics were just sitting around talking to the flight attendants. Also the plane kept making this unusual grinding sound before we even took off as well as while we werr in the air. The flight attendants were very rude to alot of people, careless with the credit card machine dropped it very roughly on the ground and laughing about it. I am pretty sure the older one of the three was drunk because she reaked of alcohol , I didnt not catch her name but she was the ruddest of them even to an elderly man and a small child. Then Liz was also very rude to customers as well as having an attitude that was as if she didnt carr about her job. The man Gustavo was not to bad he just spoke over the intercom as if he was new. My mother who was traveling with me asked for a seat belt extender twice and the third time was finaly given one and laughed at by the staff and the during the flight she discoverd a roach in the pouch in front of her. Also back to a referance to the bad staff a woman sat next to us asked for a pain killer or some sort and was told " i cant give it to you before we take off, and if i could we dont have anything other than our own"-liz then twords the end the poor girl was sweating drasticaly and holding her stomach and the older attendent whose name i did not get came up and said " WHATS WRONG WITH YOU?" and laughed. Over all i was NOT haooy woth this flight i do understand the fact that i GET WHAT I PAY FOR BUT THAT WAS JUST RIDICULOUS."
Pros: "Nothing. Flight was cancelled. That was just the beginning of a travel nightmare. I can't believe Kayak compromises their reputation by representing a shoddy, sham of a business like Spirit."
Cons: "Cancelled flight at the very last minute because of lack of crew. Not enough staff to accommodate travellers trying to rebook flights. Inept and apathetic staff who were obviously resigned to the fact that Spirit is a substandard airline There was miscommunication and lack of communication in organizing travelers which caused multiple altercations between upset travelers. It was a very disturbing experience. My rebooking took an hour because the staff member didn't know how to rebook! The 'Supervisor' who was at the next desk, was SLOWLY checking bags for other customers and did not help AT ALL. I suggested that he switch places with my agent. He ignored me competely. Attempts to call Spirit resulted in multiple auto transfers and ultimately an intentional auto cut off. I was rebooked on United. When I checked in at their desk, they told me that all the other transferred Spirit customers before me had been sent back to the Spirit Desk because their transfers had not gone through. I have been warned about Spirit. Now I would warn anyone considering Spirit. If it goes right, you're ok. If not, get ready for a travel nightmare. No one needs this kind of abuse."
Pros: "Cheap base cost for ticket."
Cons: "Total cost ends up being >>>> Southwest after having a bag or two, whether it's checking in or carrying on. They charge for everything and everything is up charged so much - want a carry on? 55$. want to check it? 50$. realize that you want to carry it on but forgot to pay because you did it online? 100$ It's kind of like the Oprah of airline hidden fees. Start off at $15-20 cheaper than everyone else. Then all of a sudden - you get a bag charge, you get a bag charge, YOU ALL GET A BAG CHARGEEEEE!!"
Pros: "not much"
Cons: "Denver has a blizzard the night before. Let's assume, it's going to remain a cold night after the snow stops. If your flight leaves at 710 am, you might think there would be ice and frozen things on the plane that might need to be addressed before the flight can depart. at 730 they come out and say "the plane's engines are frozen, sorry" Why was no one there earlier prepping the engines? There was NO indication by the crew that any prep happened before. They gave us the impression that they were as "shocked" as we were. I would have assumed that it would have been an issue for all the airlines, but the American flight that was at the gate next to us took off on time, as did the other plane next to us. This is clearly a Spirit airline issue. I somehow made it to denver international airport on time, against all odds. I was going to be able to make my meeting in San Diego on time, but then the ONE thing that's supposed to go off without a hitch (the airplane being ready to go) didn't. All because of clear lack of preparation after a storm. Never again spirit airlines. EVER."
Pros: "We made it to our destination safely."
Cons: "Flew United to our destination, then spirit home. The overall cost of flying spirit is more than their competitors. They charge for everything! Spirit bag prices: 35$, before online check in only, for up to 40lbs. Price goes up for bags you checkin 24 hours before your trip and goes up again at the desk. United: 25$ For up to 50lbs. United offers a free movie onboard the flight through their app. (download the app before your flight) and complimentary drinks and snacks. Spirit: no movie option, 3$ for a bottle of water! By the time I paid for my tickets, a seat next to my daughter, hot tea on board the flight, and the expensive baggage prices, it would have saved me money to fly United. Also, the kicker, when checking in for my flight we had to wait in line almost an hour because there were only three workers at the check in booths and the line of people there to check in was all the way down the lobby! I showed up 90 minutes before my flight, as recommended for domestic travel, and nearly missed my flight because the check in process took so long! Going through security didn't take as long as the check in did. I also had to pay extra to assure a seat next to my daughter! Are you kidding me! Will never fly spirit again. United did not charge extra to pick my seats. People want to feel they got a good deal, and something for free. Even if it's only a bottle of water on a flight."
Pros: "Cheap fares but then lost all my money because they weren't helpful."
Cons: "Security took too long and spirit doesn't have mobile boarding passes so I missed my flight. Then after I ran to the spirit counter they didn't offer my a voucher for another flight nor a refund. They said they could move my flight to the next day or do nothing. I fly a lot and have never ran into this problem before. Don't bother trying to call their "customer service" phone number either because it's the wrong number, then you will be redirected to an answering service that doesn't work, then placed on hold for 20+ minutes, followed up by a service rep who isn't helpful and doesn give you any answers."
Cons: "I was seated in an aisle seat (5D) with two morbidly obese men sitting in the middle and window seats next to me. Both men were over six feet tall and approximately 350 lbs. Neither one fit in the dimensions of their seat, therefore I was forced to relinquish a third of my seat. Question: Why don't the airline personnel require these people to purchase 2 seats? You can post a notice online (where most of us buy our tickets). If passengers exceed certain ht/wt parameters, they must buy 2 seats. You enforce bag size/wt. restrictions. Why not people?Obesity is epidemic in our country. I consider it false advertising when Spirit tells me I am purchasing a seat...I paid full price for one-half to two-thirds of a seat."
