Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Extremely disappointed about flight 1379 scheduled to depart at 0658, 18 Jun 21. Flight departure was moved to 10:30 AM and later to 12:30 PM without giving any reason for the delay to the hundreds of passengers that arrived at the airport between 4:30 AM to 5:30 AM to meet the airlines requirements. Poor performance by Jet blue. Lost of time and money for me. Thumps down. Blue is my favorite color, live up to it."
Pros: "Good entertainment options, the flight tracking and personal screen great. There was good space between passengers and mask wearing was enforced."

Pros: "Jet blue flights seem generally good. Like the WiFi access to be Able to use flight time efficiently."

Pros: "Comfortable seating with lots of legroom; clean; ease of boarding and de-boarding; on time; nice variety of entertainment available ; everything was timely!"
Cons: "Some of the channels on the direct tv were not available throughout the whole flight; one flight attendant was not very friendly (she wasn’t rude either)."

Pros: "Plenty of leg room in economy seats."
Pros: "Easy boarding and flight"
Cons: "There’s nothing special about jet blue anymore."
Pros: "Every single JetBlue flight I have ever taken has been delayed. I can’t fly JetBlue anymore. You are unreliable and waste peoples time."
Pros: "Huge leg room in coach. Free large bag of snacks and they didn't charge me for a snack box filled with chumous, bean dip, crackers, biscotti etc value $9. I thought Jet Blue was like Spirit, but its TOTALLY different. Not at all a budget level airplane or crew."
Pros: "I thought mostly everything was great. I haven't flown in awhile and expected much worse."
Cons: "WiFi dropped out pretty shortly after takeoff stayed out for the entire flight duration."
Cons: "Asked the stewardess to have a blanket and water she had not brought. Service was bad ."
Pros: "Extra leg room, comfortable, leather seats, cleanliness of the cabin, efficiency and friendly manner of the staff, assigned seating and enough room in the gate area to be comfortable. I also appreciated being able to hear and understand all announcements made in the gate area and on board by the support staff and the captain."
Cons: "Some passengers in the gate area were "seat hogs" sitting in one seat and taking up one to two extra seats for their baggage while people were trying to find places to sit, especially when we experienced delays.. This is not the fault of the airlines, however, but it occurs to me that there could be gentle reminders on in print or in announcements asking people to make room for other passengers."
Pros: "Arrived early"
Cons: "The flight was over six hours delayed; no heads up and customer service was a joke."
Pros: "Great service everything on time"
Pros: "Love jet blue, always a comfortable flight. Love the in flight WiFi and ability to watch tv to kill time"
Cons: "A lot of flights were delayed at Reagan on Saturday. Flight was scheduled for 4:35 but did not leave until about 7:15. It was a half full flight and a lot of us were understanding, but if I did not have the jet blue app, I wouldn’t have known about the multiple gate changes and delays. Information was not communicated enough at the airport at all."
Pros: "On time, easy, liked the snacks and the TVs on flight"
Pros: "Having a tv"
Cons: "Sound jack not working properly , older plane no amenities"
Pros: "The crew could not have been more helpful and pleasant making the delay bearable as they were overtly communicative w all via text, email, and in person keeping is updated! HIGHLT RECOMMEND and will definitely be flying again. :)"
Pros: "Great service and smooth flight. On time, all good things."
Cons: "An individual who was very overweight sat next to me and took up half of my seat as well. I understand we all deserv to ride comfortably and my intent is not to shame them. That said, if someone can’t put the armrest down I think the airline should require them to purchase both seats as it’s very uncomfortable to be in the position of having no seat for the entire ride. I’m an average sized person so it was a challenge but even tiny people deserve the full seat they purchased. There really should be a rule or something."
Pros: "Loved all the available dedicated JetBlue staff available to answer questions. Have not flown JetBlue often but heard many great things."
Cons: "Weather delay which is out of JetBlue’s control but once we landed (6 hours later) we sat on the runway for an additional hour because our gate had a disable airplane occupying it. I think JetBlue could have done a better job ensuring a back up gate was available or giving their passenger updates on the situation."
Pros: "The flight was fine"
Cons: "All the planes are extremely delayed"
Pros: "The leg space"
Cons: "Delay and the space between seats"
Pros: "I sat at the back of the plane and the flight attendants were great."
Pros: "May have slightly more legroom than other airlines."
Cons: "Departure was 1 hour late. Flight attendant announcements were inaudible. Service of refreshments was abrupt and unfriendly compared to other airlines."
Cons: "I was delayed half a dozen times, only to be canceled. Rescheduled on a flight that was scheduled to depart two hours before the original flight. Rescheduled after an hour hold. That flight was delayed the following day. Was diverted to Baltimore only to find out only some of us on our flight are getting out by a rude agent. Then no information at all. Had to run to catch an amtrak. Later found out if I stayed I would have stayed another 13 hours in Baltimore. Missed work and had no one home to take care of my family. Oh, and travel insurance will not cover anything. The plane itself was falling apart. Seat was broken and dirty. Everyones lights were broken and it smelled."
Pros: "Attentive, professional crew, clean plane, great service!"
Pros: "Good flight. The staff was nice, especially Chris. Nice to see complimentary beverages and snacks still offered on domestic flights."
Cons: "Seats are terrible, and getting worse every year, but thats coach on all airlines not just Jet Blue. Hard armrests, weirdly shaped bucket seats which are appalling in any other position than straight up with 90 degree waist bend. Thats not how humans sit for extended periods of time. A 5 degree recline is not a recline; its a joke. At least the tray table was bigger than my phablet, unlike Spirit where the napkins look like tablecloths on these ‘tables’. Overall, it is better than the cheapest airlines."
Pros: "Short flight food and entertainment not an issue for mr"
Cons: "Non stop"
Cons: "Two hours later leaving JFK"
Pros: "Service Cleanliness Friendliness Ergonomic plane"

Cons: "There was uncertainty about departure time. The departure time changed several times. Landed in Chicago 3 hours late at 3 AM."
Cons: "The captain didn’t show up for the flight so we had to wait for a new one to get to the airport. Easily, this could have been avoided. Then we land an hour late and we sit on the runway for a long time with no information."

Cons: "The wifi didn’t seem to be working on the flight even tho it said it was equipped."

Pros: "Airplane accelerated from stand-by directly to runway without preparation stop. Awesome!"
Cons: "Small plane, feels cramped"
Cons: "The unfortunate delay prevented me from attending my grandmother’s wake. Fewer delays would be helpful."
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "The boarding process was rough and haphazard"
Pros: "The crew did their best to deal with delay."
Cons: "There was an absolutely awful job done by both Delta and Kayak of informing us if additional delays, new gate assignments, when the plane would be reboarded. Also, people were quite angry that the plane had to be cleaned between the time we got off and the time we reboarded. Just get us home."
Pros: "The fight was very professionally carried out."
Cons: "The gate agent hurried ineffectively to board our slightly delayed flight (around 10 min). She left open the Priority Lane and boarded all pax there, having to step 4 steps to the left to scan every boarding pass."
Pros: "It was ok"
Cons: "Seat the family together"
Pros: "Quickly moving through the airport."
Cons: "Take out old planes. It was really run down."
Cons: "Announcements were too loud in earphones (could damage ear drums) and entertainment was turned off while waiting 30 min for the gate to open."
Pros: "The plane was nice"
Cons: "I’m still sitting in Minneapolis so I would have liked to be at my destination. And I had to pay for the overnight accommodations."
Cons: "Smooth on time flight"
Pros: "The crew really kept us updated on the many delays."
Cons: "There were SO many delays and they kept changing. At one point we got on and off the plane."
Pros: "The flight attendant from IAD to MSP called Bernadette was wonderful!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed 2 hours. Even though I had carry on, they checked it and this made me waste my time at baggage claim rather than gate checking. Flight attendants were miserable. Power supply didn’t work at seats."
Pros: "The seats were ok."
Cons: "The flight was delayed over 3 hours so I missed my connection in Chicago to Seattle. I’m now stick in Chicago overnight and have to be on a 6 am flight tomorrow. The Delta staff at LaGuaurdia was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Hate Delta......"
Pros: "Super comfortable seats. Lots of movie options."
Cons: "Food was not very good"
Pros: "Flight was smooth, arrived early..crew was prompt and courteous."
Cons: "Plane journey awful. Speaker had a loud buzzing noise all the time so never heard a word bad landing. Rattling plane Very cold."
Pros: "Clean plane, the seat felt roomy. Smooth ride and the captain communicated clearly."
Cons: "It felt super hot and I wish there was food included in such a long flight."
Pros: "As usual great staff and awesome entertainment/connectivity"
Cons: "Due to weather & maintenance flight was delayed for IFR release & fuel temperature gauge issues. Staff was very helpful. Would have appreciated a drink voucher. Some unprofessional passengers took their frustrations out on the flight attendants."
Cons: "Over an hour delay before boarding due to supposedly bad weather. Because flight was overbooked they were offering $400 gift card to change to standby on another flight. If you didn’t make that flight (evening), you’d be confirmed on a flight the following morning with one stop in Detroit (we booked a nonstop to Chicago). Uh, no thanks. Then to top it off, we’ve landed and been told that it will be at least an hour before we can deplane due to no availability at the gate (it’s 1145 pm right now). All this plus their new policy of not allowing us to select our seats because we bought the cheapest tickets. Really Delta? You go ahead and cater to the rich and I’ll choose to fly with another airline."
Pros: "Flight attendants were nice based on the situations beyond their control."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for about three hours, due to mechanical issues with the second engine not starting. We sat on the the plane for over an hour and half. Some people that missed their connection flights were offered hotel stay. Others that had no connection flight was not offered anything for the several hours of delay that occurred."
Cons: "I have traveled with my luggage plenty of times through airports and the flight from washington to jacksonville, my luggage came back to me cracked and broken. I was surprised that Delta handling was worse than any of the cheaper flights I normally take and will not be checking any baggage with Delta again."
Pros: "I flew on a basic economy fare (I understand the restrictions) and was seated in Economy Comfort +, so that was appreciated."
Cons: "I could see on the Fly Delta app that I had been placed in seat 10B, but neither the app nor my boarding pass gave me a group to board with, so I assumed that I needed to board with group 3, which necessitated gate-checking my rollerboard bag. Only when I approached the gate to board did I notice on the info screen that I had been "upgraded" to Comfort + and granted boarding with the Sky Priority group. I wish this had been clearer so I could have avoided waiting to board and gate-checking my bag. Minor inconvenience but room for improvement on Delta's part."
Cons: "Seeing as I’m still waiting for my flight, more than five hours later I am not inclined to rank it highly. This airport is an embarrassment and I will try my best to never fly Delta again. Weather is no excuse for this."
Pros: "My flight was canceled but Delta rebooked me on a flight leaving at about the same time as my original flight, which arrived just a little later than originally anticipated"
Cons: "My original flight was canceled"
Pros: "This was not my original transfer flight but everyone was much nicer and helpful than serious and being rude. Love Delta, I did not flight United because I wouldn’t have met my United flight once landing in ATL. The Young African American woman who was at the gate was amazing and so reassuring that I would make my flight to Chicago. Would book Delta, just because of how nice she was to me."
Pros: "Flight was on time. Boarded quickly with no fuss."
Cons: "Delayed two hours"
Cons: "Too tight and seats not comfortable."
Pros: "The Delta people were solicitous, efficient and brilliant the whole way through. We had not a bit of trouble. Our first class seats were comfortable, but with the supplied blanket, pillow and poor air conditioning it was a hot flight. The cabin personnel were wonderful as per usual, and my tasty gin and tonic soothed any discontent. I wish I could fly this way all the time!"
Cons: "The private contractor handling wheelchair assistance was terrible. A Delta employee theorized that they do not pay enough to attract and retain personnel. Our pre-arranged chair was not there, multiple calls by our Delta assistant finally got us a ride to the chair holding area, but after about 45 minutes we gave up and shuffled off to the security area on foot. Thank goodness my hubby is mobile enough for that to have been an option. When we abandoned our wait we were still 4th in line for an attendant to push the chair. If Delta has any responsibility in this it would be in the retention and compensation for the private contractor."
Pros: "Flight attendants and cookies. That's it."
Cons: "We left DC late because of Delta's inefficient boarding process. We landed in Atlanta late. Our flight to Sioux Falls left early, without us. My pregnant wife and I made it to the gate 4 minutes before the scheduled departure and they told us the plane was already gone and there was no way for us to get on the plane. Our bags did make it to Sioux Falls, so my wife didn't have her prenatal vitamins, , we had no clean clothes and we were forced to spend the night in Atlanta. The saddest part of yet another terrible experience with Delta was that they offered us a "discounted" room at a terrible Howard Johnson for $72. I looked online and the same hotel was $65 to book on Kayak. So basically Delta was trying to scam us after they screwed us. Thanks Delta! Instead we paid $200+ to stay at an airport hotel. Every time I fly Delta I regret it, yet occasionally I get forced to take their awful airline to get somewhere I need to go. It never fails to add another bad Delta experience to my long list of failings from this SAD!!! airline."
Pros: "Accident on way to airport, so I showed up to check bags 45 minutes before flight time. They said they couldn't get the bag to the plane..in 45 minutes? So, they put on the next flight... 6 hours later. Said I could fly without the bag... uh, no thanks. They would not look for alternatives without charging me more. Flight attendants were crabby, otherwise everything was fine. I flew British Airways a few months ago. Night and day. Seriously. Delta does not even approach having good service. There was no comparison to British Air--- Delta is not in the same league."
Pros: "Airline stewards were very friendly and pleasant."
Cons: "We booked with Delta, but were put on Air France. Even though we had our boarding passes in hand we had to wait in long, slow line for baggage tags because they would not print from kiosk. There was minimal Air France staff on duty serving thousands of passengers during busy season (July). While the lines grew larger, the staff was reduced from 4 to 2. Another long, slow line for customs, another long slow line for security=Charles De Gaulle airport was awful. We arrived at the airport 4 hours before our departure time and got to our boarding gate with no time to spare."
Pros: "Entertainment options weren't bad. Most of the crew was polite other than one flight attendant who seemed ambivalent and unhappy to be there."
Cons: "Three hour+ flight and just one tiny bag of pretzels? And no lemon or lime wedges on the beverage cart? Plus, I have to pay extra for one checked bag. I will only fly Delta if I have to in the future. Subpar airline."
Cons: "I didnt like that my flight was canceled and rebooked for no reason. This created me big problem in Athens that they couldnt find my ticket in delta. Also I didnt like that i had to stand and wait for 3 hours in the line because my flight was canceled but no one could let us know if there gonna be any flights within the day. I slept in the airport because i couldnt find a hotel to spend the night close to the airport. They were all full and i had no time to find one since I was waiting there for 3 hours with no informational. I slept on the floor and delta didnt even offer us a blanket. That was my worst trip ever."
Pros: "What I liked: Sky Priority privilege came with separate luggage check-in queues and early boarding"
Cons: "What I disliked: Seats were too small No beverages or snacks offered No USB or power outlets available Three different groups board before Delta Comfort (e.g. those needing more time, travelers with children, first/business class) Didn't see the value compared to a less expensive main cabin ticket"
Pros: "I was notified about the delay via text before I left for the airport, which was nice. I would not have checked my email."
Cons: "Delayed for over 2 hours. I have never flown Delta before this flight and it wasn't a great representation. The flight attendants were nice but I was in a seat near the engine and it was making really weird noises. I fly almost every two weeks, so I'm used to engine noises but this was one of the loudest/most rickety sounding flights I have ever been on.. and I have flown Spirit a few times. It just didn't feel safe. Landing scared me a little too as I have landed in O'Hare countless times and have never flown so low to the highway upon entry. It felt like we were only a couple hundred feet above the cars."
Cons: "Unnecessary flight cancellation. I had friends taking the same flight at the same time at the same airport from different airlines and they came through for their customers. I received no consolation it assistance with overnight accommodations."
Pros: "The crew was very friendly as well as the pilot after we had landed. Also was nice they gave us each a little water in a plastic bag as well as a snack"
Cons: "Not much anything can be done to make a flight better with Covid. Masks have to be on, no drink options available anymore."
Pros: "Everything was great. But the American Airlines can improve on not letting non-first class passengers use the restroom up front."
Cons: "The food! Bring back real food please"
Pros: "Good seats and very clear"
Pros: "Nothing, really other than the fact that it Got us home."
Cons: "At least offer water. There was no service whatsoever"
Pros: "Bags are no where to be found after landing 25 minutes ago"
Pros: "Great customer service"
Cons: "Nothing that I can address everything was good"
Cons: "No social distancing due to all of the seats being booked. My significant other was moved from her seat to another one across from me which was unfortunate."
Pros: "Yes they were amazing and the seats were comfortable."
Pros: "Everyone was well behaved."
Cons: "Seat choice flexibility, but it was basic economy..."
Pros: "Staff was nice."
Cons: "Nothing really"
Cons: "Seats are thick but zero lumbar. Back too short at shoulders and I'm only 5'8""
Pros: "2 and 2 seats, all occupied, no distancing."
Cons: "Better seating, boarding from the tail to decrease contact"
Pros: "Movie selection was good"
Cons: "Fortunately I ate breakfast before getting on because I was only offered two stale cookies on board"
Cons: "Boarding slow"
Pros: "Smoothest flight ever"
Cons: "Terminal at Ohare is terrible. Severe shortage of restrooms, poor signage"
Pros: "The boarding was quick and easy and the lights were dimmed as it was a red eye flight. Couldn't have asked for anything more."
Cons: "Delayed the flight because they sold 1/3 of the seats, not a priority for American operating at a loss."
Pros: "Entertainment options"
Cons: "Does basic economy not get beverage service? My husband who was in basic economy and two rows in front of me got a beverage. The crew skipped from my row, # 22 all the way to the back. There was no rough air that would’ve made them cut off or announcement made that service was being discontinued."
Cons: "Flights could be on time. Every one of the 4 flights were late. Also it would be nice to offer a snack that doesnt contain wheat and sugar."
Pros: "Was not long enough"
Pros: "Fast boarding process, on time"
Pros: "Nice seating"
Cons: "They asked who would give there seat up for 600$ future flight credit and The first two people could be eligible. They ignored me (who was first) for a white couple who Came after me, and they got chosen and got the flight credit, but I was as clearly first. So I think it was more of a racist matter"
Cons: "Seating in Economy plus is tight. No electrical or UBS outlets for charging devices."
Cons: "Wi-Fi was spotty."
Cons: "As a handicaped disabled not able to walk and should be using a wheel chair,as I know from my many previous travels with other companies like lufthanza, klm..etc, I used to be the first traveller to go to the air craft when loading it to take off and the last one who would be leaving it after landing. Even when going through the check and security points I used to go in a special route especially for the handicaped but going with all other normal travelers lines with such amount of time waiting and crowdness is completely inconvenient. what happened through the trip was quit different , going with the travelers or after when they are boarding the craft make it very hard and time consuming , Wish you take care of it, as it's a very important handicaped service. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment"
Cons: "The flight was delayed, I never took it."
Pros: "I liked the room."
Cons: "There was no entertainment. Could not get seats together."
Cons: "Flight was delayed hour and a half for a preventable mechanical issue. Issue was known about night before and not addressed. I missed one of two meetings because of Americans inability to excel at running an airline"
Pros: "Flight was comfortable and enjoyable. Entertainment was great lots of films to choose. Service by the flight crew was excellent"
Pros: "My flight was delayed and expected to delay further and the attendants put me on another flight to get there before my connecting flight."
Cons: "My bags never made it and when I arrived, I was told that one of my bags was still at my departure airport and the other wasn’t scanned."
Cons: "The vegetarian meal is always vegan, I miss the dairy :("
Pros: "Pleasant service ; courteous team"
Cons: "Flight delayed"
Cons: "We never took off"
Pros: "Accodation ofvstaff at gate, boarding, seat."
Cons: "Flight departure was delayed by 4.5 hours. Then when we finally landed, we had to wait nearly 2 hours on the tarmac before we taxied to the gate. American kept us in the dark about what was happening -- I might have made different plans if I had known what was going on."
Pros: "Nice crew even though the plain was late and we had to wait for ramp to come."
Cons: "It was hot and very little space. Poor choice of snack."
Cons: "Seating is a bit cramped."
Pros: "On time, good service."
Pros: "Boarding and flight were on time."
Pros: "Arrived 40 minutes early"
Pros: "I love the fact I've flown with American Airlines 4 times over the last month and have not had any issues, delays or even an unfriendly face no matter the time or airport!"
Pros: "Overall the flight was good, on time"
Cons: "Nothing at this stage"
Pros: "The Resolution team assisted me initially when I arrived to correct an issue from my online attempt. The agent printed bag checks for me to my final destination and told me how to get needed boarding pass for the final stage. How wonderful to have pleasant and professional personal attention."
Pros: "Food, OK legroom, complimentary wine & beer on a US carrier"
Cons: "Barely functioning ancient touchscreen system"
Cons: "They had no record of this portion of my trip, after a few people checked they found the Chicago to Ammon part so they added me onto a flight from Washington to Chicago. All should of went well from there but they sent me to the wrong gate. Luckily I just made it to the correct gate for boarding. Upon arriving at Chicago there was no one available to provide information on how to get to Royal Jordanian gates. Also on my AA portion of my flight coming into The U S in New York the flight was cancelled and I was told the next flight Available was next day (18hr delay) at the other NY airport. I had to have someone drive from D.C. (My destination) to pick me up"
Pros: "The staff were amazing. Very accommodating and with great dispositions. Boarding was easy."
Cons: "For an international flight the seats were extremely tiny and the plane itself only had a few tv screens posted in the middle of the plane so everyone had to watch the same thing."
Pros: "I liked that the flight was basically on time, boarding was a breeze, and the staff was professional, friendly, and helpful."
Cons: "The seats! They were very uncomfortable. They were more comfortable than United, but less comfortable than JetBlue."
Pros: "Good flight."
Cons: "A little crowded"
Cons: "Flight was pushed back two hours and it was very frustrating. UA didn't offer an alternative flight or offer any tickets for food and drink to those waiting."
Cons: "Have the middle seats vacant. Doesn’t make sense to hound people about social distancing and masks and then have a full plane."
Pros: "The crew were very nice and the seats were comfy."
Cons: "I would have liked a snack instead of just a beverage alone."
Cons: "A computer problem caused us to sit on the tarmac for 3 hours. Good times."
Pros: "Crew was good but being 6’4 and 300 lbs set was very small"
Cons: "Leg room and seat room"
Pros: "The airline tried to keep us as comfortable as possible in the airport. The crew was fantastic."
Cons: "Since we were in DC, I don't know why it took four hours to bring in another plane, since we were so close to major cities."
Pros: "Friendly crew, both at the gate and on the plane."
Cons: "This is the second time in a row that I've had a flight delayed over an hour on United Airlines."
Cons: "6 hours of delay"
Cons: "Better snacks & more legroom"
Pros: "Staff are very nice"
Cons: "Not user friendly for videos"
Pros: "Smooth flight"
Cons: "The tray cannot be pullled closer for eating. The seat sitting up is very uncomfortable for reading. I would have liked a pillow. Th poor man in front of me asked for a coke after the meal service was done, and the flight attendant said she had to reserve it for the next flight?! The male announcer flight attendant was very hard to understand, some of his words were slurred and garbled. And the volume was always too loud for both the male and female announcers. There was no entertainment unless you downloaded the app."
Pros: "I had THE WORST experience with ONE flight attendant leaving Paris CDG, flying to Chicago O’Hare. Flight #9334. On 7/26 @ 11:22am. I am hypoglycemic and the flight attendant skipped my line for food I acknowledged her three times and she ignored me so on the fourth time I raised my voice saying “excuse me ma’am” that seem to have irritated her or rubbed her the wrong way because her response was extremely unprofessional yelling at me and accused me of startling her. She compared my voice to the startle of 911 and caused a scene in front of the majority of the passengers. All I wanted was the food that was available for each passenger because she skipped My row. After talking to another flight attendant who claim to be a manager name Celeste who was wearing a visible name tag along with every other flight attendant except for her, I asked her for the name so I could write up a review she refused to give me her name saying it was against their policy to give up first names even though it’s clearly on everybody’s shirt except hers she removed it or covered it up w/ her apron even though Robert Robert was wearing an apron with his name tag outside of his apron like he should the attendant that gave me problems took off her name tag and covered it with an apron that was a violation of dress code. A simple apology is all I asked for but she refused to apologize and the managers only response was “I can’t make her apologize” Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect on a flight as I am a frequent flyer to Paris on United everybody else and all other flights was extremely helpful and courteous. This woman started ranting and raving about 911 and getting people nervous for no reason. I will be writing a formal letter to the corporate office. I just barely got home and wanted to write this review because it ruined my experience in 9 1/2 hour flight experience. It was also very embarrassing for me and my family, as other customers were bothered by this and had to listen to this. I was trying to speak over the air conditioner and after the third time of her not acknowledging me that is one I raise my voice politely by saying “excuse me ma’am”. I am a frequent united flier. Cons: "I had THE WORST experience with ONE flight attendant leaving Paris CDG, flying to Chicago O’Hare. Furthermore I have scoliosis and I’m handicapped our flight got delayed by 3 furthermore I have scoliosis and I’m handicapped our flight got delayed by 2 1/2 hrs. Cons: "Our flight to Munich arrived late. And our connecting flight to Milan was originally scheduled to leave just 50 minutes after our arrival in Munich. We did not make our flight to Milan and have lost a half day of time at our destination, as well as more than $100 in non-refundable Italian train tickets. Even if our plane had arrived to Munich on time it would have been nearly impossible to make our connecting website. Flight pairings with this short of a layover should not be suggested at this airport when travelers are required to go through passport control."
Pros: "It was fine."
Cons: "Everything was fine................................."
Pros: "The pilots were informative with their announcements and we were informed of turbulence before it started. We also got in ahead of schedule. I also appreciated being able to ask for a glass of water between services as I had fallen asleep."
Cons: "The negative experiences started before we got on the plane. Boarding began slightly behind schedule and was very disorganized. People were all standing in the boarding area and out into the walkway for the concourse. I feel it would be better to have boarding groups come up individually or two at a time. (While group one boards, group two convenes. Once group one has boarded, invite group three to take their place.) Once group three had boarded, an announcement was made that there was no overhead bin space availble for the entirety of group 4. It seems a bit ridiculous that nearly half the plane wouldn’t have overhead space. It took awhile to board group 4 as everyone had luggage to check and once we finally got down the jetway, we had to wait another few minutes before being able to get to our seats as the flight attendant for first class insisted on taking drink orders while she stood in the aisle. I understand this is a perk of first class but I feel it could be better executed. These seats are boarded in group one so to have drink orders incomplete by the time group four is trying to board is irritating at best and incompetent at worst. Once finally at our seats, it became apparent that the announcement about lack of overhead bin space had been made a bit early. The bins were on the full side but they definitely had space available. Also, much of the space had been taken up by jackets and bags that would have fit under the seats; which I felt could have prevented nearly all of the checked bags. The flight was uneventful with minor annoyances like having to pay for entertainment and any sort of food. Even southwest provides entertainment free of charge and I consider them to be more of a budget airline. If I fly Lufthansa again, I will not take a domestic flight through United and will instead book via southwest to and from the international airport Lufthansa flies out of."
Pros: "The flight length and capacity was fine. Crew was nice enough."
Cons: "The plane was outdated, the entertainment was a screen smaller than my phone and had only set movies or shows that played in repeat. Apparently you could download their app and watch other stuff but we weren't informed of that at all while waiting to board which would have been sensible (when there was Wi-Fi access). For a long flight, that would have been nice. They also made a big scene about the bathrooms, apparently us in economy didn't pay enough to use the bathrooms in front of the thin blue curtain that wasn't really closed. It was a bit weird, they're just crappy bathrooms regardless of where they are on the plane."
Cons: "No leg room"
Cons: "No food"
Pros: "Omg the movie selection was amazing!!!!"
Pros: "Comfortable seats"
Cons: "Boarding took a long time in the plane. There was confusion as they had passengers going both ways in the aisle .. this forced several ppl to stand in the aisle a long time. One of the air hostess had a major attitude. For example one passenger who was stuck in the middle of other passengers asked her politely if she could help him put the carry on in an overhead bin near her .. and she responded "I cant help you, you need to put it up yourself sir". Not something one expects. She was also terse with passengers, ordering them in an annoyed tone."
Cons: "Worst shittiest experience! Delayed by 3 hours"
Cons: "I had a man sit next to me who was in the wrong seat but didn't move. He told the girl to keep his seat and he would stay next to me. He was so big he was in my space and had didn't make any effort to try not to spill over in my area. I had to put a magazine next to my thigh because his body was so hot it was damp! I hated the entire trip. I was cramped up and extremely uncomfortable. This is simply unacceptable to have this happen because huge people can't fit in one seat. I want these obese people to be required to purchase 2 seats because they take mine."
Pros: "Everything for this flight was as expected for my ticket purchase."
Cons: "I had no problems with this flight."
Pros: "Nice crew and entertainment"
Cons: "3 hrs delay"
Cons: "Extended layover by over an hour"
Cons: "Because of a delay in SFO to Chicago O'Hare airport I missed my connecting flight back home. My connecting flight left early without me. While boarding the plane in SFO, the people at the gate made me check my carry on bag. Which I thought was very weird. When we finally got to Chicago I stood in line for two and a half hours to talk to one of the worst customer service lady of my life. She swore at me many times over me trying to be polite and wait for her to call me up to find another flight. Instead she looked at me and said "what are you waiting for?" She said to me "Oh here's a flight. But oh wait it's already sold out or gone" and she would laugh. Finally she found a flight close to where I live. My baggage had got lost from my connecting flight leaving without me. I got all of my luggage 2 days after. My carry on bag that got checked at my gate was in a clear trash bag. I took it out of the bag to find that it was completely trashed. My handles were ripped off which put a huge whole revealing all of my personal items. My carry on bag has only been used once and can never be used again. I unpacked my bag and noticed $300 worth of my stuff was missing. I have called to make many complaints to talk to corporate office but no one would give me the correct number. I will NEVER fly United Airlines again. I am so disappointed."
Pros: "The stewards were nice and they were prompt. The plane seemed to be well cleaned inside and they were quick to get everyone boarded and bags stowed underneath. The pilot knew what he was doing and I had no worries there. Everyone was doing their jobs as well as they could be done."
Cons: "The air nozzle above my seat was broken and would not turn off so I freezing the entire flight, as well as the tray table seeming like it was meant for the lap of an infant versus myself and I can't imagine how someone with longer legs than myself dealt with the way it folded down. The take off was rough either seemingly due to tires or perhaps a rough runway. The wifi on the plane would not work. It worked ok my first flight but not on the second. I don't know why and no one knew why either, had the latest app and it was updated to the current version."
Pros: "Nothing about 9 HOURS in an Airport is great! I walked from where I landed coming from Calgary, to terminal 2 Gate F 17 because that was where the flight to Lexington was to leave from. Then I got notice it was leaving from terminal 1 Gate B 24 so (I'm sure I walked a mile there) to get there. Waited for a number of hours checked my phone and found the departure was back again at terminal 1 Gate F 17!?!?! So I walked another mile back to where I started. At no point was I offered a drink or meal voucher for the 9 hour delay/inconvenience in my flight to Lexington ky. Suffice to say that I will NEVER go on any flight if I have to go back through this airport. I also have horrible knees, which all the walking did not help."
Cons: "I would like to say that as a person with a disability, there is not any support for help getting around. They have plenty of for lack of a better term "golf carts"; but no one utilizing them. Not that I am a world traveler; but this airport could take more than a page from Calgary international in terms of support to those with disabilities. I will NEVER and I do mean NEVER go through something like this again. I expected to be home in Lexington at 5:00pm and did NOT arrive until midnight.??!! This is in my opinion quite unacceptable! What a way to spend a hard earned vacation day! Thanks Luanne Steele"
Pros: "The pilot continued to interrupt our flight home. Watching movies, 4-5 hours his overrides of loud, loud announcement were useless. Trying to take a nap, dark, early evening. We at 29,000 feet, we're ahead of schedule, we are going to arrive 30 minutes early. Then we arrive early sit on the tarmac, because guess what was at our gate; ANOTHER AIRPLANE! All his rushing and interruption were a waste. The ground team had him wait 200 feet away from the gate for another period of time. We arrived three to five minutes early, at 7:30 PM. Very unpleasant flight."
Cons: "We have to pay for entertainment The flight wasn't smooth honestly one of the worst ever Even counting the combat flights that I took to Iraq seriously I almost vomited and that never ever happened to me on a flight"
Pros: "The trip TO the United States was bearable."
Cons: "This flight was a complete disaster. I ended up b=on a different flight to Newark, as my flight to Chicago got canceled. Then that fight was unable to land, so I spent hours in baltimore, and missed my connecting flight to Brussels. By the time I finally arrived, 4 hours late, to Newark, I had to spend 2 hours in a line to get re-book, for a flight the next night. I was compensated for all this mess with a $10 food voucher, and had to get a cab from the airport to the closest and cheapest hotel. My flight to Brussels was uneventful, save one rude flight attendant, and I got to school a day late."
Cons: "Having to depart from another airport"
Pros: "Great fly very attenty personal"
Cons: "The terminal number on my ticket was wrong and when me and some other customers asked the flight lady what was going on she was of very little help. Not only that but she was making a personal phone call. So I had to rush to the other end and then just to find out that they didn't have enough room to put my carry on so I had to place it enbetween my legs which made for an even more uncomfortable flight. Also one of the flight attendant was particularly rude and kept saying she had to do her job in a very rude tone to the point were an older retired man told her he's worked too hard in his life time to be talked to like that. Overall the poorest plane experience I've ever had and I fly quite a bit."
Pros: "Everything was fine but not having the option of personal device entertainment was annoying, really annoying, I don't appreciate that kind of cheapness annoying."
Cons: "No personal device entertainment and I'm 5'2 and my legs felt cramped, I felt sorry for the two guys sitting next to me"
Cons: "My connecting flight from Chicago to Madison was cancelled with no explanation and no other alternatives provided, other than to get a hotel in Chicago and try to catch a flight to Madison the next day. United said they would not cover the cost of transportation to a hotel or the cost of the hotel. In addition, my luggage was misplaced and sent to Madison and could not be located. The number United provided to me to check on the whereabouts of my bag no one ever answered, even though I called multiple, multiple times."
Cons: "United delayed the flight. This information became available about an hour in advance- well after we drove two hours (We live in Montana) to get to the airport. The attendants said / not our problem. I called United's Customer Service number to discuss ways of mediating the delay that resulted in us missing the wedding venue and entire reason we booked the $1400 flight. I again got a "not my problem" response- no the flights can be modified, no we will not provide vouchers, no we really don't care that our poor quality and service cost you and your family tremendously in time, effort, and lost memories. I know we are at the mercy of airlines, but what a painful disappointment. My experience with Delta has been better and I suggest avoiding United Airlines if other flight options exist.... Even consider a very long drive over the use of the airline."
Cons: "Flight delayed 5 hours until 2am then about to take off and while on the runway I receive the text "Your flight to Chicago (UA1282) is canceled due to required crew rest" then they didn't have enough crew to unload the bags from the plane so I was without a bag containing all my medication. They rebooked me on a flight with a 2 hour layover when I had a direct flight before. Didn't give me any food or travel vouchers and now I missed MY OWN BRIDAL SHOWER! Very VERY unhappy."
Cons: "They delayed the flight because they had no flight attendant. They delayed it every 15 minutes from 450 to 715 and then just stopped updating us at all. We all waited with no food or drink or any news. At 815 they cancelled it and sent the whole plane to customer service to wait in line. Most of us had to stay in Wash and leave the next day. They offered us nothing except to rebook the flight. The boarding crew was laughing and joking the whole time with zero regard for our discomfort or ruining connecting flights! Never again."
Cons: "My husband, sister, brother-in-law and myself flew into STL. We thought we had booked the same flight but when we got there found out our departure flight was different. We asked about moving them to our floght but it was over booked so we asked if we could move to there flight. They had 15 open seats. They told us no. There would be a charge of 500 dollars if we wanted to change. We decided to just fly out first and meet them there. We stood by the counter to speak about meeting. As we did we could hear them telling the next couple that they would have to move to the later flight. It was a huge problem for them as they would miss there connection. We then offered again to take the later flight so they could take our place on the over booked flight and make there connection. They where unwilling. Then we get on the flight and the plane was nasty and dirty. We put out tray table down and there was drink and dirt all over it. When asked if they could be cleaned we got an attitude. They never came back to do it. Luckily I had a wet wipe to do it. The plan smelled like urine. Same was true for our return flight. The plane was very old and not taken care of. This is not the first problem is we have had with United. We will not be flying with them any longer."
Cons: "There was a delay and that caused me to rush and worry about my connection flight"
Pros: "Cookies were very tasty."
Cons: "Seat would not recline."
Pros: "Crew and workers were all pleasant and polite"
Cons: "United knows they can't fly into Orange County after curfew. This was handled terrible. After 4 delays. All weather related we were finally boarded. Yay hope. Not even to our destination. Boarded to LAX. Now we are seated. The announcement pilots won't fly. No. It is illegal for them to fly. Why not tell customers. Don't blame pilots. Also you know the rules why board us. Even if we flew we still needed a two hour ride to SNA. It was sheer luck I called and was told another flight leaving in 8 min at gate 14 ten gates away. My running to catch that flight was not good. I made it panting. Arrived in LAX at 2:00 a m Not my destination. If nothing else people should be compensated by United don't you think?"
Cons: "I am almost always cold. Not so on this flight. The temperature on the plane was so miserably hot that I had sweat pouring down my face. Everyone around me was trying to open their air vents to get more cool air and/or fanning themselves. I asked the flight attendant about it and he said that the plane was just old and it would cool off eventually. It did, about 20 minutes before they cut the air down again for landing. By the time I got off the plane I was nauseated from the heat and stale air. It will be a long time before I fly United again if this is any indication of the condition of their planes."
Pros: "The crew were professional"
Cons: "The worst thing is that they schedule a CRJ-70 on this flight. This would be tolerable if the obvious alternative was a turboprop, as if Montreal were a small town, like Flin Flon. But it is not; it is a large and important city, and it stinks that the demand is so low that airlines must use small aircraft on these routes. Is it because Canadian taxes are so high on airlines that fares in turn must be high and not stimulate demand? I can't think of any other reason connecting cities this size would be on crappy little aircraft rather than on at least an A320/737 family aircraft. The problem is that there is not enough room in the overhead bins to fit rollaboards, even small ones like mine. So they have to "gate check" the bag, which does not always reappear at the gate at the destination. Less bad than the choice of aircraft was the fact that after we pushed back, they couldn't get an engine started, so they cancelled the flight and reaccommodated us on a later flight."
Pros: "Great customer service"
Cons: "Leaving so early. Changing in Chicago. No food. 6 hours from DC to Bradenton."
Cons: "I was flying out of De Moines, IA to DC with a layover in Chicago. I received an email stating that my flight was changed to 3pm. While the email stated the flight number it didn't state the destinations or the airport. It turns out the email was referring to the layover flight that I had in Chicago. I even called the number provided in the email to verify the change and instead of giving me information on my flights it gave me a status update of the flight at that particular time of the day (Which was the day before when I called and was not something I particularly cared about). This wound up being very bad for me because I slept in and missed my flight. I booked another flight for the next day but a very bad snowstorm hit the east coast and was unable to travel back to DC for 5 more days. I had to get a hotel room in Chicago and spend over $500 in expenses because of this error. United should be more specific when notifying its passengers of any changes by email. This messed up a lot of things for me and I'm very upset with how United handled this"
Pros: "Flights were on time service was good"
Cons: "Felt like a sardine in a can only forgot to cover me in mustard sauce. I used to enjoy flying it is like pulling teeth to get me on a flight anymore. I WOULD RATHER DRIVE. But when you're dad's in the hospital you've got me by the balls."
Cons: "Delays, delays, and more delays....rude gate crew forcing economy passengers to check bags when there was still TONS of space in overhead bins for a not even full flight. Added extra hour to an already majorly delayed flight day to wait for a bag that could have easily been stowed overhead. Service was lacking. Plane was new but no real in-flight entertainment for a long flight. Uncomfortable flight all around. Will do everything I can to avoid United from now on. 14 hour travel day that should have been half the time! Haven't had such a bad experience in years."
Pros: "Got us to our destination."
Cons: "The seats are basically a covered board that don't recline. For a short flight it is OK, otherwise if you want comfort beyond that, this is not your airline. Flight was delayed due to an IT issue and we couldn't board. Perhaps a backup plan for the future. Paper and pencil doesn't break down that easily as a backup option."
Cons: "Everything is ok"
Cons: "Flight delayed 2hrs for no reason!’"
Cons: "Stewardess who had to repeatedly ask a customer to put their mask on said “I hope you get it”. Referring, of course, to COVID-19. Horrible."
Cons: "We really need free drinks"
Pros: "The emergency row seat was good."
Cons: "The hidden carry on luggage fee is terrible."
Cons: "Airplane was packed, no social distancing, and very limited leg room. Big room to improve safety standards and comfort."
Cons: "The woman sitting across the aisle from me wasn't wearing a mask. I asked her to put one on and she refused. I asked a crew member to ask her and she also didn't comply. It was uncomfortable and I was disappointed the crew didn't do more to force the issue."
Cons: "Good service"
Pros: "We finally made it to the destination"
Cons: "the flight was delayed more than once. and it seems to be common on this route"
Cons: "When I was at the ticket booth checking my bag. The young man was rude to me and acted like he didn’t care to help. I told him I would also like to add my ktk aka pre check on to my ticket and he said he couldn’t do it. It seemed like he didn’t know what to do. I almost missed my flight due to not having pre check on my ticket. Every airline I’ve flown has never gave me this problem. I get anxiety more than most people do and this guy just made it even worse. I ensured I gave my the right numbers/letters for my pre check and he still couldn’t get on the ticket. I will never fly frontier airlines due to this"
Cons: "I got a notification that my 11:20AM flight from MIA to ORD is delayed for 5 minutes. Upon arrival in airport, I was told that there's a mechanical problem with the plane in ORD and that the plane hasn't left ORD (flight time 3:20). Thankfully, we had a place to stay for a day so we asked to be re-booked for the flight for the next day. Others took a refund and went to book a flight on a different airlines. Others had to wait until arrival of equipment and their plane didn't leave until 8:15PM that day (meaning they had to be in the airport for 9 hours!) I understand that the airline has limited amount of equipment and crews, but earlier notification would have been appreciated"
Pros: "Cheaper prices. Safe flight in a steel tube. Because Frontier charges for food, the stewards/stewardesses were very quiet about it and let the passengers sleep."
Cons: "Food costs extra. the fact that I didn't get notice beforehand about purchasing my bag space before getting to the front counter and paying there. So it was more expensive. Boo! The fact that baggage costs money. The fact that you get yelled at over the airline PA that if you can no longer place your carry on in the overhead bins unless you paid for it, and that your bags must now go underneath the seat in front of you, when leg space is already tight. And, no, I am not overweight by a long shot."
Cons: "Air traffic control issues kept us from leaving on time. They did a good job of catching us back up, and even though we were late, they made up time. I like the design of the plane where the seats are thinner and there is more leg room. I had quit flying Frontier because of the measuring of the carry ons, feeling like cattle being herded, etc. This was a better experience, with the exception of the carry on expense. With that and charging for every little thing, your prices are not any cheaper than any other airline."
Pros: "The crew were very nice and professional, the flight was on time as well."
Cons: "Yes it's a budget airline but the seats are not very comfortable and there is absolutely no leg room unless your 5'4 and they do not recline. The seating arrangement is nuts they choose for you, you can choose yourself if you join their club and you still have to pay. The carry on/checking fee is $30 if your bag is 50 lbs or less. Otherwise you will pay $75 I believe. The only thing that is free is water by the cup otherwise the small bottle water is expensive. Yes it's a budget airline so remember, on longer flights I think I would rather pay more and have a more comfortable flight. Also the Airbus 319/320 that they use suck. They are old and you feel a lot of turbulence."
Cons: "crowded seats, no room for my knees, since the kids behind us had little room they were constantly kicking our seats and crying, the aisles were too narrow, the seats were uncomfortable, we did not understand that we had to pay an extra chg for our seats which should be part of the original charge (that's ridiculous!), had to pay an unbelievable extra chg for something to drink, and then if that wasn't bad enough, we had to wait for over an hour for our luggage! Never again will we book Frontier!"
Pros: "Departed on time. Flight generally fine."
Cons: "Baggage service in Denver. Considering that Denver is a major hub for Frontier, I would have thought that the baggage claim process would be good. On the contrary, we and about 15 - 20 other customers waited more than 90 minutes for our baggage. The conveyer belt bringing the baggage up to the carousel stopped twice. The second time, it was not fixed for nearly 30 minutes - AFTER THIS WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THREE DIFFERENT FRONTIER BAGGAGE PERSONNEL. Frontier baggage personnel were ineffective and indifferent. I asked one Frontier employee about the delays - the only response I got was " They were a little short handed and little behind. " " Total Indifference " seems to bear the Frontier customer service motto as far as baggage is concerned - and I paid for the damn baggage service."
Cons: "Only airline in the airport with delays from a snow storm 3 days ago!! About 7 hours in the airport with multiple delays before it was canceled. No other flights available for a week. Refunds available (supposedly) but had to wait in lines over 10hours long or through their phone service with significant waits before being routed to their website which was pointless. Some people were waiting over 10 hours to pick up their checked bags from previously canceled flights. Hundreds of flights were canceled the day before as well. Again, this was the only airline in the airport with these issues. Other flights were leaving without problem. I will never fly frontier again."
Pros: "I enjoyed that I had an aisle seat when I chose a random seat instead of paying for one. The crew seemed nice, a little overwhelmed but I had limited interactions with them. Boarding was fine and I was relatively comfortable on the plane."
Cons: "I did not like that Frontier allowed for multiple people on the plane to yell and scream about the flight being delayed and how terrible their service was using lewd, degrading language that I felt unconfortable listening to after spending 6+ hours traveling before I even got on the plane! As a holiday traveler I am aware that there are delays and things are congested, maybe I'm the only one. I did not enjoy that I had to be subjected to that while sitting on an airplane that landed 45 minutes before even reaching gate. This continued on to the baggage claim section for another 45 minutes until finally I told the guys to shut up! The 2 men should have had security called on them or taken to another room to air their grievances instead of subjecting the rest of us to their tirade. I was extremely uncomfortable and disappointed in the way Frontier airlines at O'Hare handles disgruntled passengers and will most likely not fly Frontier again despite having a relatively enjoyable flight."
Pros: "Flight was at a low price and convenient."
Cons: "Mobile app was not working correctly and a ticket agent helped me purchase there at a discounted price. On the way back the ticket person didn't help at all and said she knew they were having problems with the mobile app. Said she could do nothing and quickly gave me a customer service number to call. Wow that was really effortless. If you have an app to purchase at a lower price for carry on and it is not working then have a back up plan to help you customer get what is advertised. Like it was a bait and hook. Besides that everything else was OK."
Pros: "The flight attendants were fairly kind and considerate when going about their job."
Cons: "I fly a lot and have taken a fair share of disappointing flights but this one certain hits the top. The boarding process was chaotic; the woman at the counter was down right rude and did not once make eye contact. The flight crew was close to useless when people were taking too long to be seated or placing bags in the overhead. I cannot rate food or entertainment because frontier is too cheap to even hand out tiny bags of mixed nuts. You certainly pay for what you get. Then we all waited 45 minutes for our bags to be unloaded at baggage claim. That is an unacceptable amount of time! Only for me to realize my bag was lost and somewhere in Mississippi. I've been traveling as a frequent flyer member on united and American for five years and I was considering joining frontier'/ program but after this experience I need to reevaluate."
Cons: "I showed up to get boarding pass and no one was at counter. I waited and when she finally showed up she wouldn't let me check my bag that I already paid for online saying I must be there 45 min prior. I was exactly 45 min prior but waited for someone to come check me in. Therefore I JD to open up my suitcase and throw away every product I had since I was carrying my bag on. Trying to rack my brain if that was everything I ran to security. They ran my suitcase through scanner and checked my suitcase 3 times which took a very long time all bc of a wine key I had and forgot about. Finally finished I ran to my gate only for them to tell me it was too late. I am a frequent flyer and am very aware of what to take and not to take on a carry on. But bc it was supposed to be a checked bag it was a nightmare. I have never missed a flight and I have always gone through every airport in the states and internationally quickly and stress free. I will not be flying with frontier again."
Pros: "The crew were the best flight crew I have had, funny, enthusiastic, happy to help and very friendly. If all your crews were like that it would be awesome"
Pros: "The plane did not crash. That is the only positive aspect of the trip I could come up with."
Cons: "I paid for my checked luggage, which was expected and fine, however I was told my carry-on bag was okay but it was not. After my ticket had been scanned at the gate and I was already halfway down the gangway, a gate agent began yelling at me to come back. The other passengers looked at me like I was a criminal or something and it was quite humiliating. The agent said (rather rudely) that I had to pay an additional $40 for my carry-on. I explained that I was told the bag was fine when I was at the ticket counter but they did not care. They further informed me that I was paying $10 more for my bag than I would have at the ticket counter, leaving me feeling scammed. I emailed the company immediately upon arrival, explained the situation, and asked for a refund of the carry-on fee given the unusual circumstances. I was flatly refused. Horrible experience, horrible employees, horrible customer service, horrible airline. Their ticket prices might be low, but that only seems to be to lure customers in so they can be tricked and swindled for more money. I paid more for my bags than I did for my ticket!! This company seems to operate on a "bait and switch" business model and through some research I did on them following this experience I found they already have compliants against them to the Better Business Bureau. AVOID THIS AIRLINE AT ALL COSTS!!!"
Cons: "When we checked in at the counter they did not inform us about carry-on charges. Most airlines don't charge fees for carry-ons, but frontier does. We had to pay $60 each for small carry-on at the gate. This practice is unfair to people who are not familiar with cheap airline business models. They should be more transparent about their fees on the ticket and at the counter. This cheap airline is so cheap that they couldn't hire enough staffs at the DCA gate. There's only one staff checking in the tickets at the gate and we had to wait until everyone went into the plane to pay for our $60 check in fees."
Cons: "The highway to the airport in Phoenix was shut down due to a murder on the highway. I took an alternate route. Then the construction at the airport and the signage was terrible. I stood in line curbside to check my bag at what I thought was frontier but it was delta. By the time I got to the frontier desk, they closed the flight. They said they could get me on the flight but not my bag. My bag had my sales materials in it. It had to go with me. I ended up on a United Flight. Cancelled Frontier and they charged me 99.00 to cancel!!! And I had trip protection but it does not cover incidents like this! UGH! It was my first experience with Frontier. I did not know they were fee heavy. I will not fly them again."
Pros: "I'm cool with saving a few bucks and not getting free soda and peanuts."
Cons: "I feel like Frontier takes the no frills thing a bit extreme, and then relies on the customer to work within the confines of their rules without making it super clear what those rules are. Seats a VERY uncomfortable, thin almost non-existent padding over hard plastic. Seats also cost money and you're not offered to buy your seats ahead of time but only when you check in, or if you know ahead how Frontier operates. Puts some folks in the position of having to buy expensive seats on the spot at check in. Also this is my 3rd Frontier flight in as many months and every time something has gone wrong, delays, or computers down. 1 more chance with me on my flight home in 2 weeks. If it messes up again, I'm officially never booking again."
Pros: "I sat in the first row, so the leg room was pretty good."
Cons: "Kayak quoted ticket prices in search results that were not consistent and I didn't know off the top of my head that Frontier makes you pay for all luggage, even carry ons. The woman at the ticket counter did not notice my luggage and let me know that I needed to pay extra for it, so I paid twice as much at the gate ($60) after being pulled out of the boarding line. These results should be marked differently so it's not so difficult to figure out which tickets are actually less expensive. Only water on the flight (unless you want to buy a can of soda for $5), only one chance to get water, food is also only for purchase. No entertainment options. An oil slick of grease and grime over my window. Very, very unimpressed."
Pros: "The crew was nice and efficient at getting everyone settled; finding space for baggage."
Cons: "Didn't like that my seat was hard and uncomfortable and didn't seem to recline. Both my flights were delayed; waited an hour for baggage transfer from a connecting flight that really should have been sent the next day. Had to pay for a soft drink. Don't like all the extra costs on this airline. Might be more tolerable if the comfort level was higher. No entertainment folks, so be sure to bring your own, along with peanuts, drink or any other snack you may want. I will be sure to research airlines better before booking next time."
Pros: "The actual flight itself was smooth and as expected."
Cons: "Everything else but the actual on air time itself was awful. At ORD the lines were short/fast but the agent was a little rude, it was my first time flying Frontier so I just had a few questions and she made me feel like I was annoying her or wasting her time. At the gate the boarding process was as expected, except I think the gate agent could have done a bit better crowd control, it was really cumbersome to get across the multitudes of people with unassigned seats or later zones that were clogging up the entrance just standing there. The flight was smooth. Upon arrival at PHX luggage took upwards of 30+ minutes to arrive and some passengers had to wait much longer. My luggage arrived damaged. I filed a report at the Frontier desk but their response was to ask me to leave my broken luggage there, take my items in clear trash bag and wait for a voucher. How am I supposed to take my items to a hotel for business meetings in a trash bag? That's not an acceptable solution to a problem I did not create, baggage handlers did it. When I got to the hotel I realized that the items I had on the front pocket of my luggage were tampered with and one item was missing. I was told I could go spend the money to replace my luggage and bring them back the receipt, and then leave them the broken luggage cause and I quote "you can't have it all". What does that even mean? I can't have MY luggage? That I brought in perfect condition and the baggage handler broke? Come on. They did not explain if they would offer a refund immediately upon receiving my receipt, it was all very rushed and vague and I was going to miss my transport so I had to leave. They did not give me a claim number or a number to call back at. Nothing. I wasn't even being rude or loud or annoyed like some customers get when these things arise. I understood perfectly that it was an accident and these things happen, but I still deserved a proper response and decent treatment, since I just paid $45 for a checked bag only to have it be broken. On the day of my departure from PHX I arrived at the airport on time, 2 hours and 15 minutes earlier from my departure. I stood in line at Frontier for an entire hour to check in my luggage even though I had checked in online and already paid my fee. I asked if there was a place for people who already were checked in and a rude airport staff member told me to just "get back in line". After waiting in line for that long suddenly the desk agent yells to all the passangers from a flight to Denver to move up to the front of the line, so about 100 or more people move ahead of me despite the vast majority of them having arrived late. I understand their flight was leaving earlier but what about our flight? How is it reasonable or fair to reward people for being late and make people who have been dutifully and calmly waiting in line FOR AN HOUR standing with heavy bags wait even longer? The whole thing was just terrible!"
Pros: "Gate agents and flight crews were very nice people."
Cons: "Seats were barely minimum quality, no entertainment systems, no food (not even a little bag of peanuts or pretzels), flights were late, and on the last leg I missed my connection, partly because we were late, but also because there was no ground crew to get the plane to the gate, so we waited over 15 minutes just meters from the dock, and watched the ground crew handle several other planes down the line, during which time my last flight must have taken off. I was rebooked on the next flight to my destination, even mentioning my checked bag, which I hoped would also be placed on the next flight out. That last flight was also delayed in departing, and when I arrived at my destination, my bag did not. I filed a claim, and was told I'd receive an email with a claim # and contact info, and my bag would be delivered to my home the following day. No emai arrived, and no bag arrived. I have filed another claim via the airline's web site, so we'll see what happens. Also, they charge high prices (IMO) for checked bags, carry-on bags (1 personal item is free), and seat selection. Not as economical as it seems at first! I doubt I will ever use this airline again."
Pros: "My husband said that there was a little more room than usual in the seats, in part bc the seats don't have a full size drop down tray. I did appreciate that the seats were comfortable even though they don't tilt back, and since they don't tilt back, it means you don't have the person in front of you tilting all the way back into your space."
Cons: "Frontier is really just another cheap airline that will charge you extra for everything now. It's annoying enough that you have to pay to get a seat assignment and to take a bag (carry on or check) but when the flight attendant said it would cost be $1.99 to get a cup of coffee, that was it for me. I also found the dinky little half trays annoying - there's no way to do anything on them. and since they don't lock, every child on the plane spent the entire trip dropping them down to hear the loud sound they made. Also with the arm rests. Oy. Also, the board of our flight out of Denver was ridiculous. The flight was delayed quite a bit and then Frontier check in person not once but twice announced we would begin boarding only to then realize it wasn't ready yet and shut the doors. It was really weird."
Cons: "The three hour delay which was only partially explained by weather."
Cons: "The discount terminal at LAX was a zoo. The flight was pushed back multiple times, with gate changes, and I think we left almost three hours after the scheduled departure. There was little acknowledgment of the delay -- something like a free beverage would have been nice to make up for the scheduling inconveniences. The flight itself was very spartan and the lack of cushioning or reclining made it a pretty uncomfortable few hours. After touchdown, we were on the tarmac for at least forty minutes waiting for a gate to open up. This was not a good experience -- I felt like a fifth-class (or lower!) traveler and I will probably pay a little more to avoid flying with this airline in the future."
Pros: "Getting off the plane."
Cons: "For starters, we scanned our tickets at one gate and boarded at another. First time I've ever seen that. There weren't enough Gate Agents to manage things so I waited in line for 40 minutes to pay your ridiculous $60 carry on fee. By the time someone was able to help me, my boarding group had already boarded. I ended up paying the fee and was forced to gate check my bag anyway as all the overhead space was taken up by the time I got on the plane. Nice work on your end milking that $60 from me. Since I wasn't able to check in ahead of time, I was stuck in the middle seat (I'm 6'5"). I would have happily paid an extra $250 to not sit in the middle, but thats besides the point. Just as I'm about to close my eyes, your stewardess gets on the PA and starts hawking Frontier credit cards for 20 minutes. If that wasnt bad enough, she had the audacity to shove an application in my face and remind me 'its the best credit card in the industry!' The credit card pitch and "buy 3 get 1 free' happy hour offers made the flight feel more like a sad Panama City spring break than a return flight after a long business trip. Alas! We landed at ORD 'on-time' which is always good for Frontier's stats. Unfortunately, we sat on the tarmac for 30+ minutes waiting for someone to man the sky bridge. Oh, and it was a nice touch deplaning in the international terminal returning from a Kansas City flight. Long story short, Frontier is now in the same category for me as Spirit Airlines. You fooled me once, but you wont fool me again. I'm just glad it was a one-way ticket. PS: when did airlines start soliciting tips for the flight crew? In all my years of traveling, I have never seen that before. Embarrassing."
Cons: "Boarding was completely disorganized. The attendant shouted the boarding order which was completely ignored. Our flight was delayed but we didn't know because because the sign indicated that it was "On-time" because we were held in a holding pattern for more than 45 minutes our plane ran low on fuel and we had to be diverted to Colorado Springs to refuel. Because of these delays we missed our connecting flight. We stood in line for more than an hour to see when we could fly out. We were told the airline would not compensate us for a hotel room even though the next flight out was not to be until the afternoon of the next day. Because of a convention in town there were NO hotels available. I am a 70 year old woman and I had to spend the night in the airport with my grandson. I have not had any sleep and we are still waiting (3 & 1/2 hours to go as of now) for our flight out. Because Frontier does not partner (I think this is likely the other way around) with any of the other airlines we could not even get a flight with one of them. Beyond that the seats are plastic with barely any padding and most uncomfortable. I will NEVER use this airline again. I am outraged."
Cons: "Our flight was scheduled to leave at 4:15, their was another flight at the same gate scheduled to leave at 3:45. It was unsurprisingly not enough time to board the flight before. While in that extra time of waiting for our plane to come to the gate after the flight before took off a hail storm hit. Had we been on time we would have avoided the storm. We also taxied in Chicago for over 20 minutes waiting for our gate. I ended up missing two of my buses to my final destination which was very frustrating."
Pros: "The flight landed early."
Cons: "We spent 15 minutes taxi-ing off and on the runway. Baggage was sent out 27 minutes after passengers left the aircraft. My seat was at the end of the aircraft, and I had to pay extra for that, and had sticky gum all over it. When I told the flight attendant, she said, oh no, really? The flight attendant did nothing to help me be reaseated or clean my seat. After a passenger vomited, the flight attendant did not help the passenger by providing anything to cleanup. The aircraft stank of vomit as we sat in the runway for 15 minutes. The flight attendants woke me up to sell their credit card, but not to provide refreshments/water. The announcements went on for over 10 munutes. My seat was surrounded by screaming and crying infants and nothing was done to help those mothers calm their children down. The seats had very little leg room for anyone my height and taller (5'9"), despite having to pay for the seat. I will not fly Frontier ever again. The upfront low price doesn't reflect the baggage, carry-on, and seat add-on fees, so it's very deceiving."
Pros: "It was a short flight."
Cons: "This is as much against kayak as Frontier. If you display a price that includes all fees and taxes then that's what you expect a particular airfare will cost. When shopping on Kayak most people are looking for the best deal. If upon the day I fly I effectively have to pay the equivalent of the original fare AGAIN just to carry on my bag then I feel deceived. If I had known the actual cost to fly Frontier the day I selected this fare I would never have chosen Frontier. And I never will again. The ticket counter employees are obviously tired of hearing such complaints as well. They are a surly bunch."
Pros: "The crew was very friendly and the plane for the most part was clean."
Cons: "This is a very stripped down way to travel. Expect to be nickeled and dimed for everything. Carry on ran me $40. However, they don't check if you actually paid the carry on fee and put your things in the overhead compartment. I watched people putting the backpacks and other items up there (and they did not pay). Additionally, nothing is for free on board- food and drinks will cost you (even a soda). The worst was not realizing you are assigned a seat (free), I got the middle seat (yay)! If you want to check in and select a seat, it will cost you $9 to $45 for any seat (they also do not recline)... Just crazy! My trip ended up costing me the same amount as a Virgin America ticket I passed up because it was too expensive."
Pros: "I liked the low price"
Cons: "I didn't like that as a disabled young person the airline did not accomodate my injury. The previous 7 times I've flown since my injury each and every airline has given me priority boarding AS WELL as priority seating with more leg room. I cannot bend my right knee enough to sit in a regular airline seat. The entire 4 hour plane ride I was in pain and had to consume more then normal pain medication to make it through the flight. It's absolutely unacceptable in 2016 to comepletely disregard persons with disabilities when it comes to flying. I plan on writing a letter to Frontier airlines, as well as any affiliated companies they work with. I will not rest until it's assured this does not happen to anyone else."
Cons: "Seriously, it was a horrible experience. Everyone complains that they're misleading with the cost, but it really just adds up to what you pay on other lines, maybe slightly less still. BUT, so not worth it. Spend the extra money elsewhere. Terrible customer service. Seriously, there were 3 people that were nice, everyone else was flat out rude. Both on the phone and in person. And I was nice to them even though I was really upset, which was hard to do. Our first flight was delayed 8 hours for maintenance. We got a $10 food voucher and a $100 flight voucher. Not the best compensation considering the duration of our time in the airport and the cost of food, plus the fact that our flight was more than $100. We couldn't use the flight voucher on our return flight because it was already booked (even though a supervisor prior to that said we could), so that was worthless since I have no interest in flying with them ever again. I found out later that the flight voucher can at least be used for baggage and seat selection on the return flight, which no one mentioned even when I specifically asked multiple people (including a different supervisor) what it could be used for. But that didn't help me out either since... the flight back was flat out cancelled 40 mins before it was due to leave because they didn't have a crew to fly it due to weather issues elsewhere. The next flight they could get us on was two days later or 2 weeks later... We got a refund, but of course since it was such short notice then booking on another airline was far more expensive and they don't make up the difference. It seemed like Frontier runs things so tight that they don't have any backup plans for what I would assume are not wholly uncommon things, like maintenance and weather issues. And, as other people have pointed out, they were the tiniest seats I have ever seen. All I could think once we got on the plane was, "Thank God I'm not fatter or taller and thank God we weren't stuck on the plane itself!""
Cons: "I arrived at the airport 2 and 1/2 hours early for my flight... When I get there the line to just check a bag is swirling around the airport. I was disappointed I'd have to wait in said line but I went to the end to start the process of getting it done. About 30 mins into this line one of your employees starts calling off flights ones I'm assuming wee leaving soon so those people got to cut to the front of the line. A respectable thing but also very frustrating for the people actually waiting in line because it stopped movement completely. After they get those people out the line starts moving again but the one person controlling the line leaves and the people in the back feel untitled to bumrush forward and open up one of the crowd control polls and get to the front at which point everyone else is stuck to wait for the back of the line to go first. No one stopped them just let them go right ahead and make me wait. So at this point I've been at the airport for about an 1 hour and 15 mins. Not even through the line. As I approach the front finally an employee comes out and closes the crowd control line that made it possible for everyone to cut when I pointed that out they gave me excuses and were very rude. My flight was boarding in the next 45 mins and closing gates in the next hour or so. Next they start calling flights again ones that need to get through because they won't make their flight if they won't. My flight home is one of those. I'm at the front of the line so I figured I'd just be allowed to check my bag and get going but instead she lets people that I watched walk in less then 15 minutes ago go in front of me. I was furious I had been waiting 1 and 1/2 hours and people who showed up 15 mins ago are probably going to make MY flight while I wont.. I point this out to the lady and she says I'm just trying to get everyone to their flights and I do appreciate that but they were going about it all wrong. I finally checked my bag with probably 40 mins to spare before doors open to board and 1 hour before doors close. I turn the corner to look at security and feel defeat because I know there's no way I'll realistically make it through I turn around to talk to a supervisor about what she can do.. Get me on another flight? At least tell me they will work on their tactics of the bag check line. But instead the supervisor tells me that I have to try to get through security and that its my problem and they will deal with me at the gate if I don't make it. I hurry into line at security and we are not moving. All of a sudden the security line starts picking up because they brought the dogs out. I get through security with about 3 mins to spare I start running I get to my gate on the dot of gate close and the only reason I made it is because of delays due to maintenance which I had asked to reseive updates on my flight that wasn't given to me."
Pros: "Flight attendants and gate personnel were very gracious. Nice flight (weather cooperated) and no delays."
Cons: "Desk personnel at ORD were horrible, very abrupt, and just plain angry. Everyone has a bad day, but I'm easy to deal with and the only thing I did was step one foot over the "wait" line to the counter. I apologized after you snapped at me and continued to smile... while you continued to frown and be condescending. That alone means I don't fly your airline again. I can afford the extra for Delta and I should have stayed there. Seats were really uncomfortable and though we paid extra for the better seats, leg room was at a minimum. Again, about what I expected. All told, for 1 bag and a little more legroom, we paid an extra $115 per tick. Not really any savings over a more full-service airline."
Pros: "Point A to point B"
Cons: "This is probably a common statement, but I will never fly Frontier again. Kayak costumers should be especially wary since Frontier's main strategy is extracting fees for things everyone expects to be free. You will pay $30-40 for either checked OR carry on bags You will pay $15+ just to have the seats you bought next to eachother. You will pay $20 more for any of those seats to recline at all This would be ok, but the bag fees alone more than erased any savings I got on the tickets."
Pros: "The fast boarding"
Cons: "The price of the flight did not include information about the luggage and seat fees. As a dependent of an active duty service member, I have never had to pay for luggage. Ever. And to have to pay for a seat on the plane, an additional $150 round-trip for luggage and pay for water on the flight too, it made me very angry. I will never use Frontier Airlines for any or my travels, nor will I ever recommend that anyone uses them either. In fact, I have already told friends and family to avoid Frontier because they are a total rip off!"
Pros: "The plane is clean and the crew nice."
Cons: "I'm sure you get this all the time and you clearly have thought about it but when you add up all of the ala carte extras, then the fact is another airline would likely be better. I spend $16 on the seat and $40 on the carry on. Interesting nickel and dime concept for sure. But then I get to the seat and it doesn't recline. OK, that's fine I guess I only paid $16 for the seat. But what's with that thing you call a "pull down tray". You can't get a computer on it, even my tiny MAC. So I put my briefcase on my lap and I guess made my own little table. That's a bit much."
Pros: "All was on time, crew was friendly, emergency on board was handled well."
Cons: "The seats are not movable, so you could not lean back a little. No screen for entertainment, tray table was less than half the normal size, uselss, snack choices, had little that one might consider healthy. A lot of junk food, and a huge offering of alcoholic beverages. Could we maybe have healthier food. It could still be pre-packaged somehow. Cost of carry on: $30. Checked suitcase: $25. That did not really make any sense, other than they make more money that way. Also irritating that if you want to have a specific seat, rather than waiting for what you might get at the airport, you have to call them, and pay $13 for a seat reservation. They are nickel and diming you, or rather in dollars. It is a rip off."
Cons: "PAYING FOR A CARRY-ON?! That's bad form. Paying for sit down after we have already bought tickets? Just be up front with your costs. Thankfully I called the airline and was told if I didn't pay for a seat, one would be assigned for me on my boarding pass. I was not going to pay even more to actually sit on the flight. Two flight attendants ignored me and when they came to our seats they wouldn't even look at me when I smiled at them and was curious about food. I saw it done to other passengers too. I was extremely disappointed by that. Furthermore, Frontier needs to know how long the flight is going to be. Don't be guessing and then be surprised there is no gate available for you. I was told the flight will be 3 hours and it was advertised as such. In the end it was only 2. That in itself is fine, but where was the organization of the company when planning the flight, especially since the flight itself was smooth overall. I just found it weird. The seats were nice and clean. At least the captain updated us when he could. That, I appreciated. Overall, not the best airline but they'll safely get you fro point A to point B and for that I am thankful."
Cons: "Was not informed of the extra charges for carry on baggage. No food or even snacks included in the trip...not even the basic things like water, blankets and earphones. This was not made clear or indicated in the ticket when I bought it. Would have never bought the ticket if I knew that was not the real and total price. On top of that ... there are no checks in place to make sure that all the passengers had paid for the carry on. I paid but I will dispute the charge and get it back based on the aiirlines' inconsistent practice regarding that. The policy is not enforced on everyone."
