Usually flying to/from TF Green is very convenient, - small airport, fast security lines, parking nearby.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesIAD-LAXMar 2025
The flight attendants were chatting among themselves when we boarded. Didn't even acknowledge us. Not good. Good at deboarding. Bathroom I used was clean. Loved having 3 bathrooms in the economy cabin. Plane was new and clean. Love that.

Bring your own entertainment. Depend on them for reliability and your flight to get you there on time if not early.

Reserve your plane seat & bring something to eat in the plane.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesIAD-SANDec 2024
I chose it because it was non-stop🥳
Verified travelerFlew with United AirlinesIAD-BUFNov 2024
Give yourself the appropriate amount of time because getting to the boarding gates takes some time due to the layout of the wait port but the signs are clear and the transportation is well organized.
PaulFlew with Alaska AirlinesDCA-SEAOct 2024
DCA is much better than IAD. I am very happy with non-stop schedules for Alaska Air. Wish there were more flights in and out of DCA vs. IAD though.
RebeccaFlew with Alaska AirlinesIAD-SANSep 2024
Get something to eat in the airport, just in case there is no food onboard.

Pay the money if can afford to upgrade your seats
MilesFlew with American AirlinesDCA-PITSep 2024
Arrive early for morning flights. Even precheck and clear had a line at DCA
Verified travelerFlew with American AirlinesDCA-PBINov 2024
Just suggest that they add free WiFi on the flight

Dulles, like Seattle has a tram. That can be surprising. The TSA at Seattle is notoriously LONG, however, both times in the last year that I have flown, that has not been the case. At Dulles, the TSA lines were efficient as well. The airport interior is well marked for getting around. I did note that the garbages were full in the Southwest and Alaska areas- as we were there 6 hours and had lots of time to notice nit-picky things that nobody else would care about :). It was convenient to have a "charging station" nearby the Alaska waiting area (right across from our gate). It had 3 ports, and I noticed that as soon as I unplugged mine, it was jumped right on. Suggestion- have Dulles add a few more for passengers who need to recharge phones. Great experience, thank you.
PaulaFlew with Alaska AirlinesDCA-PDXJul 2024
Baggage fees for Alaska are fare - if you paid with their card it is free, and if not it is 35.00. I was happy with all other aspects of the flght both to DC and back.
Verified travelerFlew with LufthansaIAD-RDUAug 2024
Make sure, if you are flying internationally and this is your connecting flight- you have time to get through border control and you will need to claim your baggage and drop it off again.
PaulFlew with Alaska AirlinesDCA-SEAJun 2024
It's pricier to fly into Reagan (DCA), but if your destination is core DC area, it is well worth it. I used Ubers and Metro; no need to rent a car.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesDCA-LAXJul 2024
Easy access via metro, and by car with parking available walking distance from the terminal. Lots of seating and dining options near the flight boarding gates.
ShashankFlew with American AirlinesDCA-INDJul 2024
TSA for Terminal 2 is one level below ticketing and check in - on concourse. Indy is a well laid out and easy airport to get around.
NoamFlew with Alaska AirlinesIAD-SFOAug 2024
Flying to the Ronald Reagan airport is closer and faster to D.C. than the Dulles airport.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesDCA-SEAJul 2024
Alaska Air surprised me with the overall experience. I will use them again.

I would recommend Alaska Airlines. The amenities and comfort was great.

At Dulles, you can spend 30 minutes getting to your AFTER clearing TSA
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesDCA-SEAJul 2024
Be prepared Seattle is a mess as far as the overwhelming crowds when you land . The bus line to get your rental car is unbelievably long almost 100 people so be prepared once you arrive .

Don’t get to the ticket counter more than an hour early, no one’s there. You’re going to be waiting.
Verified travelerFlew with United AirlinesIAD-BOSMay 2024
I liked the flight . The crew staff were v . good. I liked the initial presentation on the screen rather than looking at the air hostess . Got a very back seat which I did not care for.
MarylinFlew with DeltaIAD-SEAMar 2024
Delta by far is a great airline, they’re fast and great staff. I just wish they had a little more snacks
Verified travelerFlew with SouthwestDCA-FLLMar 2024
Arrive earlier to avoid lines for baggage drop off. Also opt for baggage check in my mobile app

use restroom prior to boarding, hall to bathroom is small
Verified travelerFlew with JetBlueDCA-FLLFeb 2024
Fly directly into Miami if that is your final destination. Ground transportation between FLL and MIA is expensive ($50) and time consuming (1+ hour). One would think there would at least be hourly public transit between the two airports, but no such luck in the late afternoon. Choices are $50 bus ride or $50 ride share, or $50 bright line, or $50+ rental car. No afternoon Tri-Rail service. I chose the ride share since it got me directly to my downtown Miami hotel.
Verified travelerFlew with FrontierDCA-DENDec 2023
Always check the rules and guidelines prior to boarding. Be early. Rest and eat before departure.
