Usually flying to/from TF Green is very convenient, - small airport, fast security lines, parking nearby.

Reserve your plane seat & bring something to eat in the plane.

Give yourself the appropriate amount of time because getting to the boarding gates takes some time due to the layout of the wait port but the signs are clear and the transportation is well organized.

Get something to eat in the airport, just in case there is no food onboard.

Dulles, like Seattle has a tram. That can be surprising. The TSA at Seattle is notoriously LONG, however, both times in the last year that I have flown, that has not been the case. At Dulles, the TSA lines were efficient as well. The airport interior is well marked for getting around. I did note that the garbages were full in the Southwest and Alaska areas- as we were there 6 hours and had lots of time to notice nit-picky things that nobody else would care about :). It was convenient to have a "charging station" nearby the Alaska waiting area (right across from our gate). It had 3 ports, and I noticed that as soon as I unplugged mine, it was jumped right on. Suggestion- have Dulles add a few more for passengers who need to recharge phones. Great experience, thank you.

It's pricier to fly into Reagan (DCA), but if your destination is core DC area, it is well worth it. I used Ubers and Metro; no need to rent a car.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska AirlinesDCA-LAXJul 2024
Easy access via metro, and by car with parking available walking distance from the terminal. Lots of seating and dining options near the flight boarding gates.
ShashankFlew with American AirlinesDCA-INDJul 2024
TSA for Terminal 2 is one level below ticketing and check in - on concourse. Indy is a well laid out and easy airport to get around.
Verified travelerFlew with LufthansaIAD-RDUAug 2024
Make sure, if you are flying internationally and this is your connecting flight- you have time to get through border control and you will need to claim your baggage and drop it off again.
NoamFlew with Alaska AirlinesIAD-SFOAug 2024
Flying to the Ronald Reagan airport is closer and faster to D.C. than the Dulles airport.
BillFlew with Alaska AirlinesIAD-LAXJun 2024
At Dulles, you can spend 30 minutes getting to your AFTER clearing TSA

Be prepared Seattle is a mess as far as the overwhelming crowds when you land . The bus line to get your rental car is unbelievably long almost 100 people so be prepared once you arrive .

Don’t get to the ticket counter more than an hour early, no one’s there. You’re going to be waiting.

Fly directly into Miami if that is your final destination. Ground transportation between FLL and MIA is expensive ($50) and time consuming (1+ hour). One would think there would at least be hourly public transit between the two airports, but no such luck in the late afternoon. Choices are $50 bus ride or $50 ride share, or $50 bright line, or $50+ rental car. No afternoon Tri-Rail service. I chose the ride share since it got me directly to my downtown Miami hotel.
