Unfortunately the return flight was very busy and I assume due to COVID precautions and ventilation the aircraft was very cold. Economy is not that bad but when a full row feels very congested and almost like you’re sitting on top of each other. The flight was delayed at short notice and we were also additionally delayed upon landing when they could open the doors. The flight out there by virgin was great however the return flight not so much.

Had a brillant flight from LAX and the lady that check us in at LAX on the vs6848 flight to Manchester was outstanding ! And deserves recognition! She was patient with when we were paniced about us been late and havibg five chikdren under five...she kept us clam... reassured us and booked our bags..ensure my elderly mother had assistance and also waited for my husband who had gone to the toilet and jad got himself lost in the airport. We made it to the plan on time... please fjnd that lady as I really want her to be recognized The plane was of high standard and we got the seats thats worked well with our large family My email is lubanzu.ssbs@yahoo.co.uk if you need more information.

Was not let to board as the site failed to notify me if a friend purchased the ticket they need to be present at check in. Now we are not able to get a refund and paid for a ticket we will never use. Ridiculous rules as I fly from London and she lives in the US. How can she be present to show her card. $480 down the drain on top of that I had to purchase a ticket at the airport since I was already there

The dinner selections ran out early, so a good proportion did not get their choice."

We were not accommodated with hotel vouchers or provided with alternative travel options to our final destinations and missed flights. SAS did not cancel the flight after the first 4-hours of delay which is illegal by EU Standards. None of us were able to leave the airport as we were not told any information about potential flight departure times and it would have been $2000 to re-book with a different airline. No answers were given by SAS over the phone and their staff seemed unaware of any problems."

They only came around ONCE with the beverage cart! (and this was like an hour and a half before they served dinner, which didn't include a drink). Also, the flight was delayed by about 2 hours, and they didn't make an announcement until we were about an hour late. Thankfully, I was getting updates from Kayak, or else I wouldn't have even known we were delayed."

Made me get in an enlarged golf cart, and took me to the "transfer area" -- where I had to get into a wheel chair -- for the rest of the journey to the baggage claim area. Then he stood there waiting for a tip that was to NEVER come!"

They then scheduled me on Lufthansa, but due to delays in Frankfurt due to weather we missed out connection to ORD. 4+ hours after standing in endless lines Lufthansa resheduled us the next day. But, it took nearly two days to get home."

I saw people get up and ask for some but when the flight is 9 hours you would think they would come by once or twice offering some. Other airlines do this and I love it. I was so thirsty when getting off the flight that I downed 2 bottles of water at the airport. They also didn't offer complimentary alcohol. Other international flights offer an alcoholic drink with your meal free of charge and I appreciate that. I have a bit of anxiety when I fly and that helps take the edge off. I was really disappointed in this. Heck, Air Berlin comes around and refills your wine glass multiple times."

From using an app that denied my negative covid test THREE times because they misread it and tried to mislead me about it ("Maybe the date isn't specified?" when it very much was and I'd drawn attention to its correct location); to the fact that my connecting flight wasn't even available in this app was supposed to determined whether I could fly to my final destination; ti the fact that a supposedly vital piece of documentation wasn't even mentioned in that app; to the unnecessary delaying of a connecting flight by several hours that was suddenly on time again upon landing minutes only late, which somehow required all passengers with ANY connecting flight to run to their gate regardless of destination; to the fact that the boarding passes didn't include my initial return flight and only the connecting, which was cause to be denied entry to the airport, to the apparenly unknown and much disputed location of the check-in where I would have to report to get said boarding pass; to the ONE HOUR WAIT behind maybe 20 people total in spite of having no bags to check because again, I had no boarding pass; to the app incorrectly stating that no additional covid test was needed only to find out after having been at the airport THREE HOURS; to the fact that my itinerary"couldn't" be changed because it was "in flight" while the "fare difference" I would be charged went up $100 every hour I was forced to wait because there were magically no notes regardingmy flight every time I called back as directed; this was a miserable experience all around. Never recommending aer lingus to anyone ever and certainly won't fly it again.

Cons: "The cabin lights after dinner were supposed to go off so people could sleep. The lights were going on and off uncontrollably the last few hours of the flight. Flight attendant said the plane had issues with the "control panel because it was an old plane". The worst part was when a female flight attendant wouldn't move her feet over a few inches while sitting in her chair, so that I (a pregnant woman) could use the closest bathroom to my seat in the back cabin. I had to ask her twice and both times she confirmed "She was on her break and would not move her feet" so that I could use the bathroom. Also note, the seatbelt sign was off but that wasn't even her excuse. The bathrooms were dirty and the toilet seats need to be replaced to be asked to sit on those is degrading!"

The selection of movies and music available on the TV screen in the seat back was great, and allowed the time on the long plane ride to pass a little faster. The captain was extremely informative, about our flight path, the wind conditions, weather at our destination, etc. I particularly enjoyed the information he provided, because on some flights, you rarely hear from the person flying the plane."
Cons: "The boarding process was interesting: those that needed assistance and business class 1st (understood), but then front of the plane, back of the plane, and finally the middle. I don't feel this made things go any faster - we still waited in line for quite some time in the jetway. I don't understand having front, back, and middle. Just let all economy get in line, or do something efficient like load the window seats first, the aisle, and for the seats in the middle of the plane, have the middle seats load 1st, and then the aisle seats. Seats got uncomfortable during the flight. Also, the person in front of me reclined ALL the way, so the top of her seat was only a few inches in my face. Most flights I have been on don't allow the seats to recline that far. I could barely get out of my seat to get up and go to the bathroom."

Once on the plane internet did not work, and my in seat entertainment was rebooting often. I spent 7+ hours at Dublin Airport, sick with a sinus congestion... Plus all the restaurants and shops were closed due to it being after hours of their operation. Last time flying this airline."

After going from one floor to another, and another, to twodifferent staff-the problem sorter at Aer Lingus told me, Vanama never issued the ticket. That they should not have let me board the plane in Madrid, but he said he took care of the mess. Now you want to know how my flight went."

Still no entertainment but air came back at hour three, then at 3.5 hours being told we are stuck in Detroit. Lost luggage, all a mess. Completely. No help to rebook, so I stayed in Detroit and got to the airport early the next morning and paid my own way to Omaha, through Chicago. Again, no help from the Aer Lingus hotline (tried/on hold for 2.5 hours with no human service) or the United desk."

This was one of the many stupid rules that were constantly effected during the flight -" you can't do this, you can;t do that" and whilst i understand some are for safety - I and fellow passengers felt like we being scolded like school children"

There was just a sign that said call customer service. Then the several passengers that were never boarded for the afternoon flight due to the unavailability of staff were asked to pay $200 to get on the next flight due to "corporate policy." We refused and booked another airline. Horrible customer service."

Even though we ran out of the chicken choice for dinner ( which was my first choice), since I was sitting in the last row I was left with beef-chili. It was very good.For snack I had the chicken sandwich and that was excellent as well. The leg room is ok. My only problem is the entertainment. The selection is limited. Some of the movies are old ( Goodfellas, Godfather). Maybe 30 movies overall and that includes the animated ones and documentaries. The TV selection is ok. I usually use closed caption that was not available for most of the movies."

The young lad taking me back through the process really didnt seem to have a full grasp on the process. Many of the seats required assistance in coming back from a reclined position. The selection of movies wasn't that spectacular, but I made do as best as possible. The meals, were adequate at best, and having to pay for spirits was also an additional negative having already paid for the trans-Atlantic journey."

Our take off was delayed due to some guests having gotten their luggage put on the airline, but never showing up to the actual flight, so the crew was required to take off said luggage. Normally, this would be a frustrating experience, but they kept us updated throughout the process-- it felt like they actually cared. Crew was incredibly kind throughout the entire flight. Truly the best experience flying I have ever had."
Pros: "My first domestic flight with BA for years yet the service imo has got even slicker and better. From check-in to boarding to disembarking and all ahead of schedule, I doubt if I would fly domestically with anyone else."

I thought I was going to have to exit the plane from the rear since that was how I entered and wondered how I would get my bag. Turns out this was not the case as everyone would exit from the front."
Cons: "Being seated at the rear of the plane. This was not the flight seat I chose and paid for at booking originally. Do not know what happened with that. I needed to make an international connection within an hour and half for boarding and was nearly the last off the plane. Made it just fine, but felt lucky airport seemed not so busy. I am not sure about pre-booking seats being worth it as my way home I did not seem to get any of them."

I paid for a seat and the lady next to me kept raising the arm rest and spilling into my seat. I had to lean over into the aisle and was miserable the entire flight. The guy in front of me also reclined his seat all the way and I couldn't get my tray down and it took a lot of effort to get out to use the restroom. I was beyond disappointed with how little leg room there was and I am only 5'6". I completely understand that more seats mean more money for airline, but this isn't even safe in the event of an emergency."

When it was all said & done, 1 flight attendant had a broken nose, 1 had a concussion, I hit my head in 2 spots, and a little boy hit his head & threw up. I am not a dramatic person, but I've never been on a plane & thought I was going to die – until this flight. Emergency landing in St. Louis instead of Chicago. The EMT crew on the ground? Felt like amateur hour. I have photos to back these events up."

Cons: "Boarding was chaotic - after having first class and preferred passengers board, it was a free for all for all other passengers, which doesn't make a lot of sense and caused a long line. Due to a malfunctioning piece of equipment, the plane was about 90 degrees during boarding and while waiting for takeoff, which was pretty miserable. Temperature was fine after takeoff. The plane itself was very old, seats were cramped, and the screens for movies/tv (and selections themselves) were very poor, which is disappointing for an 8 hour flight. There were no power hookups either, which my Aer Lingus flight a few days beforehand offered. Finally, the passenger in front of me put his seat back while the plane was boarding, making it a struggle to get into my seat while boarding and to get out of it to let others in my aisle out from time to time for the restroom. Can't really blame the last one on the airline, but it added to the misery."

They said this was because the plane was already full with others' luggage and could not handle my bag for safety. Had to shove my things in a Tesco carrier bag and in my daughters small backpack on wheels. The backpack broke later as it was not made to carry more than a few books. And to top it off, the suitcase I was made to check never made it on my connecting flight to Chicago. I am still waiting for it to be delivered 36 hours later. This suitcase is virtually empty. Well, it's actually carrying a pair of sunglasses and my phone charger. totally inconvenienced and the crew saved the plane from being dangerously overloaded by an empty suitcase. Absolute nonsense."
Cons: "The queuing process was not efficient, the packing of people on a shuttle bus was dangerous with the number of people squashed onto the bus and then we had to wait on the bus for quite a while for the determination to be made that the flight was ready. Once on the flight, the hanging flap that separates the first class from economy, was loosely hanging and rattled fiercely and on lift-off swung back toward our faces. We had to pay 4 pounds for a coke and weird coffee. Then we had to circle London while we waited to land because of the IT mess in London."
