It was a very costly for us, a couple who is on a budget. i book From kayak all the time, and know exactly when I am booking an economy ticket vs a more upgrade. We had to pay an unexpected $320 on the day of flight. It was ridiculous and while we were boarding the flight attendants held us up again bc we had not paid the fee. But we tried to pay the fee at the front desk the first time and then we paid it at the gate and then boarded last on the plane. It was awful. The staff did not know anything and we were not treated great. Super unprofessional and disappointed at Kayak for not laying out all the costs ahead of me."

Pros: "Have flown most carriers to Australia and NZ. Air NZ by far the best. I mean, I am flying cattle class, so its never going to be great. However, compared to the other carriers available, the seats are the most comfortable and have more legroom. If you can afford their sky couch, do so. Food is edible (and, to me, most airlines are not) and was nice to get WiFI all the way across for just a few air points."

However, when I boarded and sat in the seat I was assigned, I was moved because it turned out that the couple that was sitting next to me had purchased the seat so they could lay down. I was seated at another window seat, but it turned out the couple in that row had paid extra to have that seat empty as well. I was not only re-seated before the plane took off, but then I was re-seated THREE more times until finally being put in a middle seat after the flight was in flight. To top it all off, the plane was so delayed I missed my connecting flight to my final destination."

Cons: "Even though i was booked on Air NZ, the flight was operated through Virgin Australia. This was only an issue when i tried to check in at Air NZ and was directed over to Virgin Australia. Once i found the right ticket counter to check in, i found that there was an extra baggage fee of NZ$130 that i had to pay to check my bag. Also, dinner seemed to be included for just about everyone sitting around me, and it was not included for me. I don't remember having the option of booking dinner with my flight. The agent at the Virgin Australia counter mentioned that this often happens when booking flights through the websites that are not the carrier's direct website. I have used others before, and not had these same issues... oh well - i guess that's what i get for booking through FlightNetwork.com. I'll probably go directly to airline websites in the future."

Disney tried hard to fix problem, and even gave us something to ameliorate the situation. Delta took hard line, wasn't helpful and gave nothing. It took 2 days to find bag."
Pros: "I am used to flying Frontier because of cost but recently traveled Delta and boy did I feel completely spoiled! Not only did my other half get our bags for free due to his status with Delta but the amenities they offer and the comfort of the economy seats compared to other airlines is a major difference. As a chronic pain patient, if I can find a Delta flight for a little more, I will be booking with them for sure! Highly recommend them!"

I like that I can choose the entertainment I want and that everything is at my fingertips including flight info, food and beverage options, etc. it’s relatively comfortable but it’s not near the level of Virgin America or JetBlue."
Cons: "I’m not sure if it is due to LAX construction but it is chaotic at the airport. It is super confusing where you need to go, drop bags, etc. the weird part is Check in was in terminal 3 and gate at terminal 2. That is a long walk back and forth. There is probably a more efficient way of doing this. Besides that, they need to do a better job communicating that seats are changing and not Reggy before boarding. Though I can understand it can get crazy because people will panic but it’s not great heading up to enter in not knowing if you are sitting in window when you picked it for a reason. Otherwise, everything went smoothly."

Cons: "The fact that I was charged $150 to check a small cosmetics bag is no loose change ! I would have carried it on but my hand is in a brace and I has to have extensive surgery. Then yoy get to the gate, and they repeatedly asked for volunteers to check their bags for free. I think this is a very unfair policy and try to explain it to the curbside attendant. I literally cannot carry more than five pounds in my left hand until I get bone replacement surgery. I'm also having knee surgery soon and this small additional weight would be caused me excruciating pain ! They didn't care and still charged me $150 for a bag thats no bigger than 12 inches and weighs less than ten pounds. Thats the way you treat your first class passengers? One other quick note: the sausage and egg sandwich? that was served for breakfast was absolutely horrible! Thumbs down !"

While it always goes relatively quickly I feel it should be more organized and folks made to follow a system. Cramming right up against the ticket counter doesn't do anyone any good."

Then she did it again when we were boarding. I know she knew she'd already asked me before. Because afterwards, she tried to play it off, laughing and saying "I'd already asked you, didn't it". My carry on fit with ease. There were people with larger suitcases all around me but she continuously singled me out."
Pros: "I had a middle row seat for this 3 hour 50 minute red eye flight. The plane was quite new. There was plenty of storage space in the bins above the seats. My seat was very comfortable. It reclined a lot. The leg room was more than I needed and I am 6' tall. The individual TV monitor was great. Delta made a long flight quite bearable!"

Cons: "Delta downsized the plane overbooked by 35, reassigned our seating that we made three months ago so we no longer could sit next to each other. My wife had to sit in one row I had to sit in another Delta did all this without contacting us. This was done to many of the passengers. The seats are getting as ridiculously narrow, I thought I was on Spirit Airlines! Now Delta is charging for bags! One reason I had stayed with Delta was although the ticket prices were higher the bags were free, now higher ticket prices and bag fees! Guess I will have to search for another air carrier. Delta is not loyal to me so I won't be loyal to Delta! Fuel is cheaper so they raise fees!"

May want to rethink the use of that seat. They ran out of food. Had to wait over 30 min on the tarmac before being able to deplane."

My first time with Westjet and probably my worst experience ever."

Cons: "The woman checking my boarding pass before I was going to get on the plane was not very friendly. Because of the full flight they were asking that large carry-ons be checked. I was fine with that especially since I saw it was a smaller plane and I could not maneuver the steps with both my carry-on and my personal item. I asked if I could also check my computer bag and she said no. The fact that I have trouble walking and maneuvering and she wasn't willing to help me out just seemed like very poor customer service. Had I known about trying to maneuver the stairs I would have been more prepared."
Cons: "On my way back to kelowna, westjet was unable to get me on the flight because of being 10 min late after cutoff. Resulting in me to miss work, and having to spend 6 hours at yeg. Unacceptable. I talked to their manager but she was very rude and completely unhelpful, they could have easily put us on that flight. Even after i have explained my situation. And when leaving in kelowna our flight was delayed and when we showed up an hour before our delayed flight we were told they are boarding right now and that we have to run to security.... when we got to the counter they didnt even know what were taking about. Totally mismanaged and both experiences were just awful."

I didn’t appreciate the fact that she got to sit up front without paying and that the AeroMexico crew did nothing to call her out or send her back. The lesson: Don’t pay the extra money for AM Plus. Just wait until no one is watching and move up front. No one cares—except your fellow passengers who paid for the added comfort."

When I showed up to the airport to check my baggage (this was 2 hours before my flight) there was a huge line of people already there. I went to the back of the line and after 15 minutes of not moving I texted my family that I might be missing my flight. As I got closer to the front a nervous and overwhelmed Aeromexico employee went to the back of the line and handed the last person a paper and told her she would be the last person allowed on the flight. Anyone lined up after her was turned away because they had showed up too late. It seemed to me that those people would have made it onto the flight if the airline had been prepared and ready to check everyone in on time. When I was finally able to check my bag there were only 20 minutes left until my flight was supposed to depart. I rushed to the security checkpoint and ran to my gate in fear of missing my flight, only to find another large line of people. They hadn't even started boarding! After waiting 10 minutes in line (10 minutes before the plane was supposed to depart), the crew slowly strolled to the gate. They didn't even seem to care. Overall, my experience was below average, but seeing how people were not allowed to board due to the airline not being prepared for this flight, I would say I won't be flying Aeromexico again."

Then, worse, mechanical trouble on the tarmack, we had to return to the gate and power down the plane, while still remaining on board, unventilated and unpleasantly sweaty, in the dark even for a while. What should have been a quick 1.5 hour flight and 8:30pm arrival thus became a sweaty 4-hour ordeal and almost 11pm arrival. Not the end of the world, but I was a bit taken aback at the absence of apologetic behaviour, like perhaps serving drinks while we're sweating on the tarmack, or heaven forbid, a meal of some sort considering we were departing later than we should have all already been home."

On the whole, not a bad flight experience, just the usual frustration in the process. I long for the days when flying was a pure pleasure."

I logged on through Kayak, and no mention of flight being cancelled, so my family (including a 6 month old) showed up to the airport to our surprise we were there for over 5.5.hours. It took over an jour to check us in, as our carry=on bag was 1 pound over & we needed to shuffle things around, and it turned out my infant son was not registered in the Air Canada system. The gentlemen (wasn't so gentlemen like) in helping us. Very rude. To our surprise, the 1 lb luggage could have easily been pass through noting there were perhaps 50 people on flight. The plane was empty. On our return back from Montreal, we walked in 2.5 hours in advance to witness an Air Canada employee yelling at a passenger. I'm not one to complain but this was unacceptable. & she should be removed from her client facing position. In addition to this, I am all for young professionals however the flight attendant crew wasn't what I would consider a productive staff. It took over 2.5 hours for food & then water to be served. On a night flight, we would expect lights to be dimmed, this was not the case until 11:05 p..m. which lasted a whole 20 minutes as we prepared for landing,. Try putting an infant to sleep when lights keep flickering, & not to mention, they seemed to have loved the intercom. Its as if they were on it every few minutes with hourglass speeches. Overall, very disappointing. We tried AC from our regualr American as we had been frustrated with the latter, and prices were higher but after our holiday trip, I must admit AA isnt bad after all and the difference in price is well worth it. Saddens me when I would love to support a Canadian based company (being canadian), but cannot justify with the poor client experience my family and I just suffered."
