Both Lufthansa and my travel agency pointed the finger at the other and I had to purchase another $1000 ticket to get home. There was no cancellation emails or any notification. I didn’t know my tixkets were cancelled until I was trying to check in. Worst experience ever!!"

Pros: "Lufthansa always impresses with good food featuring more local ingredients (sauerkraut and mache when leaving Europe), loads of in-flight entertainment included in the ticket price and a very speedy boarding process, even when dealing with United States security requirements. I always like beer and wine being offered at meals as part of the flight price, as well as the aperitif option too."
Cons: "There were a few flight crew this time that disappointed by being less than professional and less than present, knocking serving carts into chairs, being curt in their service and less polite than usual. I noticed two flight attendants in particular this time when normally the entire flight crew is very professional, courteous and timely. Flight was also late leaving Munich (computer issues) which made connecting flights in Denver difficult."

Very high tech, I took advantage of the napcaps and shower facilities. Also the restaurants were on par with great red win."

Cons: "Flying to Munich- flight was cancelled. Had to rebook on United for the following day. Arrived almost 2 days late (the original was direct, the United had layovers) and missed a planned trip to Neuschwanstein castle. Flying from Munich- The entertainment screen was broken, completely unusable. After a hard reset by the flight attendant several times... Still broken. She said she thought it would fix itself once we were at cruising altitude. Nope. Notified the flight attendant who said vaguely "I'll see what I can do..." Never came back to check, never got offered any sort of compensation (even something like a free mixed drink would have been nice), offer to move seats, nothing. So- ten hours with no entertainment/nothing to watch, just a malfunctioning screen. Food was mediocre. We boarded late, and left almost 1 hour late because they had to wait for an employee (who was not working, just getting a ride back) to board. Literally there and back with Lufthansa was a fiasco. On top of it, we have been back for 3 weeks and are still waiting to hear back from Lufthansa customer service. Apparently they only communicate by email with complaints. Not over the phone. So after repeated emails, just radio silence. Terrible airline."

Cons: "The seats in Economy were the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in for such a long time nine and a half hours. All six of us found them to be uncomfortable. No seat bottom cushioning. I had a back pain. Boarding started with the First Class and Business Class first. It took an additional 20 minutes for Economy class to start boarding. The line was very, very long and interfered with other travelers in the airport terminal. "boarding area to Frankfurt was cramped" When we arrived in Denver, only five Custom Agents were on duty to process our arrival passports, although there are 14 control stations at Denver. It appeared as though the Custom Agents were not aware of the arrival of the Lufthansa 747 nor the one that followed. All other Custom in Europe were much more efficient and move people through quickly. What a bad first impress made by the USA Customs people."

Cons: "Boarding process was torture. Lufthansa invited us to check-in early, but would not allow us to finish the check-in online process the day prior: seemed to be glitch in their computer system. We arrived at the airport early, but no one at Lufthansa could help us with seat assignments in order to seat our 12-yo daughter next to a partent. The airline did not open the gate area until 1+35 prior to the flight (advertised 2-hrs prior), and did not put anyone at the gate-desk until 1-hr prior to departure ...and they still could not help us. Boarding was disorganized; Lufthansa appeared to board by different groups, but there were no announcements as to which group(s) should board. Instead there was just a large crowd milling about, waiting to push their way to a gate agent. Very un-German."

Pros: "I have a servere hearing problem and was concerned (since we were late leaving Zurich for my changeover in Frankfurt), that I would be late because I can't hear any loudspeaker systems (either on planes or in airports). I felt that I could get easily lost between flights and not have time to get to the Frankfurt/Denver flight. I told this to the person at the gate in Zurich, and he immediately arranged for someone to meet me in Frankfurt and take me there. I was met by Maika in Frankfurt and she was just excellent--personable and efficient and really helpful. I'm sorry I couldn't remember the name of the person at the gate in Zurich. He was also great. I wouldn't have done this if I had had more time, but this really made my day (and my flight!) ! Thank you!"

Not happy at all. I ended up with a layover in Calgary instead of a direct flight to Edmonton. I think that I should have been reimbursed on the phone and applicable price adjustments should have been offered to me at the time if the phone. I give Westjets service a 0 out 10 for handling this situation."

Cons: "When we arrived in Reykjavik from Munich we had 45 min to make our next flight. We were able to make it to our gate in time but once we got to our gate it was a mad house. The airport is fairly small and Icelandair was trying to board 4 other flights to the states at the same time as ours. We had to push and shove to get to our gate to board. Not sure why they didn't spread out the gates of the boarding planes."

Cons: "Late departure. Not enough fuel in plane so had to refuel in Minneapolis. Even with headwinds, there should have been enough fuel put into the plane to complete the trip. They stopped in at an airport that was experiencing thunderstorms, and while we were refueling, our plan was struck by lightening and then had to to be examined for damage before continuing on. We were on the ground, in the plane, for a total of 4 hours, waiting. Finally were advised that the crew had "timed out" and could not fly any more that day, so we spent the night and all the next day sleeping on the floor in the airport. Icelandair was not at all prepared for such a situation. Situation was somewhat chaotic with incomplete and inaccurate information given to passengers. Very poor communication on the part of Icelandair, or whoever they contract this function to. We expected to be able to leave the airport the next morning, but were told that the flight would not leave until 5 p.m. Then they changed the time to 8:20 p.m. but didn't announce that. Then that flight delayed until 9:00 p.m. We finally got off the ground a little after 10:00 p.m. On top of all this, many passengers' entertainment systems did not work, and this made for a very long and frustrating flight. Not good, Icelandair."

Cons: "Our plane was diverted to refuel - after an hour and a half of increasingly cryptic and contradictory communications while sitting on the ground, we were removed from the plane and given cots to sleep on the airport floor. No staff present to provide information, no communication by email, noone available by phone, no updates on the website, vague rumors from another airline's staff of a "possible flight" the following evening.....no idea how/when we'd get back to Denver. We got a car and started driving...huge vote of no confidence in Iceland Air, its equipment and staff."
Cons: "Flight was delayed leaving Reykjavik. I watched our baggage be removed from the plane and head to the opposite side of the airport. It was over 30 minutes later that they announced that there was a mechanical issue with our plane and we had to switch planes. The passengers deplaned, boarded buses and were transported to the new plane. We finally took off over 2 hours late. The other major issue we had is that we were located near the back of the plane and the smell of urine and toilet chemicals was overwhelming. Every time the restroom was used, the stench permeated the back of the plane."

Forcing us to be stranded in the Iceland airport all day and not arriving in London until 10pm. We missed two pre paid tours in London because of the delay and the only thing we were offered was a meal voucher which we didn't even use. Very disappointing. And on top of it, the person at the Denver airport rearranging our tickets was rude and not helpful. I had to demand that she try harder to keep my seat and that of my niece who is a minor together so she didn't have to fly alone. Overall disappointed."

The plane before taking off, turned off 3 times. Then, when it was time to land, everyone gasped cause it was so rough! All in all really bad experience!"

Poor coordination and crowd control/line control. * Cramped seating...though the seats looked brand-new. * Small monitors with limited selection compared to other airlines. * Only food or drink included in ticket was a small bottle of water. All else, pay up. This looks like an airline that is trying to enter market and gain share by offering low prices but is not up to the challenge of giving adequate service, particularly at ticketing, check-in and at gate when they succeed in luring passengers in with the low price. I am not likely to fly Icelandair again unless I am desperate for low priced ticket, which is not often the case, thank goodness."

Cons: "This airline is so much like most other airlines in that they want to cut their expenses to the point where they can maximize their profit at the expense of their customers comfort. Six and a half hours, the flying time from and to Washington DC from Iceland, is a very long time to sit in seats that are marginally comfortable with minimum leg room. it may be what we will have to put up with from now on, but I can tell you I DON'T LIKE IT! Iceland Air is the definition of "No Frills" flying, because there are NO frills. I believe they, like most airlines forget that the whole point of having the airline is customers, but It seems that they would like to cut to the point where the customers aren't so annoyed that they stay away, but all most."

Cons: "Gate agent refused to let me carry on a suitcase that I have carried on dozens of flights (this specific suitcase) and I understand overhead limitations (I have more than 4 million air miles just between United and American Airlines). This was an A320 and I was about #10 getting on the flight. Space was not an issue. This added an hour to a 25 hour day to wait for luggage at LAX. And BA gives the agents an edge in that their test fixture has rounded corners to that a 22 inch suitcase that has hard square edges at the bottom (or wheels that make it square) won't fit in it. So the agent just points that it doesn't fit and you have to check. I was not happy from Paris to London."

The cancellation on the return trip was extremely inconvenient since we didn't have a phone to contact BA. After wondering the airport on the day of our departure, for a BA representative that could help, we were directed to a ticket sales office. Then after waiting for another one (1) hour in a line, the BA representative rebooked our return flights. This was not a good way to start or end a trip!"

Cons: "In all fairness to British airways this was actually "operated by AA" and their customer service leaves much to be desired. Traffic to get into the airport was the worst I've ever seen. When we finally arrived, Although we checked in prior to arrival, we still had to wait in line for over an hour to check in our bags! We told the agents three times our flight was boarding, however, they were almost nasty and would not expedite us. they finally started to call our flight and we were pulled from the line, even then it was very disorganized how we were processed. We had to run through security and the long terminal and along with others in our flight that had been in line, were the last to board as the flight was delayed waiting for us. One of the worst experiences ever. They really need to do something about their check in process as we were not the only ones subjected to these delays. The plane had technical problems landing and had to be towed in but thank God we made it."

Even though it was partly my fault for being too stupid to pass the test of knowing how to put my suitcase diagonally into the sizing box, I still felt bad about being lied to by the staff who told me that my suitcase was too big and that they would take it from me at the gate if I refused to surrender it there at check-in, even though they could obviously see by how easily it fit into the sizing box that the size was perfectly fine. This treatment made me feel singled out for harassment, as I saw others being allowed to carry on suitcases that were much larger, but in the end I got over it. All other staff were very pleasant to me."
Cons: "At least 6 people from the PHL - Paris flight could not manage to make the connection to Vueling. Personnel at the CDG airport was very unhelpful, and no one seemed to know how to get to get to Terminal 3. We arrived late (not for lack of trying, since 6 separate people had the same problem). We were send left and right, often getting back to the same place. 2 hours should be enough to make any connection. But apparently not at CDG!"

Maybe their announcement system was down."

We pay entirely too much money to these airlines for them to deliver such painfully mediocre service and consistently delayed flights. I recommend that this airline do a SERIOUS audit of their Preventative Maintenance/Service division across their hubs. If I fly American, I would bet my entire checking account that the plane will be delayed well over 2 hours."

Volunteer was totally unfazed but Desk crew made it seem as tho the Muslim mom was at fault for the time and trouble they had had to go through to accommodate her. She apologized profusely and was very appreciative for the trouble evernote had gone to for her. . As she walked away the crew looked at each other and shook their heads. Pretty crummy way to treat customers!"

Cons: "I can't rate it because they canceled my entire itinerary without so much as an email. I did not take my flight to Wilmington via my original flight. I had to book another flight because the change fees were too expensive. I did not know that my return flight to Denver had been canceled until I was checking in a few hours before my flight. I was told my ticket had no value. Awesome! It really stings that I then had to book a new return flight, and because I am a teacher who makes about $23,000 a year, I had to book the cheapest flight, which was with American. I do not plan on giving them any of my hard-earned money in the future if I can help it."

And then, surprise ! All of the sudden they noticed there was an issue with his and some of the crews' hours and we had to wait till they could locate more crew. But they gave us each a 1/3 glass of water and later a $12 food voucher which didn't even cover a meal and beverage. Whoop-de-do. 7 hours later we finally boarded for the third and last time. The crew on the other hand stayed professional and friendly."
