We had to stand in a security line for two hours thinking that we had as a consequence missed our connecting flight. Again, no communication. We found out when we finally got through security (we had already gone through security at the Paris airport), everyone was in the same situation and our flight had been delayed. It would have been helpful to know that as we were standing in line. While in the line, many people panicked and starting pushing their way to the front of the line. Again, no officials were there to keep order. It was truly a mess! And creating too much anxiety and stress that I really wanted to not have on my trip back to the USA. I realize that in these times, we must go through added security, but I am accustomed to US airports where there is more communication over the intercom and by airport officials. In Istanbul, it seemed that everyone did not want to give directions, and airport officials seemed to avoid the public they were there to serve."
Pros: "The flight was good. The food tasted great. They had some good movies I haven't seen yet. The flight attendants were constantly up and down the isles either giving you something or taking away trash. The leg room was sufficient."

The flight left the gate very fast and we arrived and exited the plane super fast too. The process was so efficient and quick, I did not feel the waiting period. Since I had a separate flight with Eurowings that sent me from Munich to Paris, which was not connected with this flight, I came in directly into the airport and no where near a Kiosk to check in or print out my ticket/boarding pass. I explained to numerous employees my situation and they casually exclaimed I should be able to make it in. Once I got into the airport I could barely get through security since I did not have my boarding pass. I kept explaining I don't have a boarding pass because I could not check into my flight to obtain it. Then when they finally let me through with only 10 minutes to spare before my flight's gate would close, I finally reached the boarding desk only to be told I had to wait because out of the two men who were scanning boarding passes, they were too busy to help me. I then had to explain three times that I had already paid for and booked my flight, however, I could not check in online and was having an issue with an error that stated I was missing information, even though there was nothing marked in red or anything marked to edit, so each time I tried it denied me. I also tried calling for customer support and did not get a hold of anyone because the lines were too busy. After explaining all of this to the man at boarding, he made me wait an additional 5 minutes before helping me check into the flight and print out my boarding pass. I was treated like a stand-by customer and I did not appreciate it since I paid for this flight and tried to check in 24 hours prior. I was expecting much more from Lufthansa, as my boyfriend recommended this flight company to me, but I was extremely disappointed in so many ways it makes me question whether I want to fly this airline again for future trips abroad."

It took over 30 minutes for them to figure out they needed to call Lufthansa to get the ticket transferred and in the end blamed us for not doing that ourselves before the flight! I thought this was insane as I have flown with multiple other airlines and never had this problem. And then once it was fixed for the way there we still had problems again on the way back. Never flying United/Lufthansa again."

Pros: "Last year I flew Lufthansa which was my worst experience flying ever. I thought the new standard was so low I would never fly to Europe again. I had heard KLM was good but I felt this was as good as could be expected actually much better. The food was even good."

I just filed a claim and got rude service saying I should have filed the claim at the airport baggage area but there was not anybody there to do the claim then he agent upstairs said they just spoke to them and they are there and I should have done it there. This was so rude and there is no way to get back into customs area. If we paid 200 for bags I expect them to arrive on time. I’m asking for a refund of the baggage fees."

I could not store my belongings near me. No power outlet to charge my devices for my own entertainment on a 7 hour flight. Dealing with constant traffic for the bathroom. I sat in the middle seat between two hours other men. It was a constant struggle arm space. After 7hours in the air I could not wait to get off the plane. If I didn't actually pay an extra €60 for the seat I may not feel bad but I feel like I might have been better off without paying for the "upgrade""

Pros: "Of the multiple international airlines I recently flew with, I would have to say KLM was by far the best. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Cons: "It was rainy and necessary to walk outside to access the plane; the staff should give their customers a heads-up so that jackets can be donned. Additionally, the check-in queue seemed rather sluggish."
Pros: "Everything was good. The crew was very friendly and attentive. The plane was comfortable, with great entertainment on the personal screens. The food was delicious. Flight was on time and actually arrived early, but then we had to wait for a gate (not the airline's fault)."

Ground staff in Marseiile great but gate crew didn't control carry on baggage and many of us could not use overhead bins because of passengers who stowed more than one and often oversized suitcases above, so we and many others had to place carry on suitcases under seat. Attendant on plane totally unhelpful and could have rearranged a few bags to make room but preferred to stay in back of plane and talk. To be fair, rest of flight was pleasant although late due in part to boarding issues."

They had just gone through the entire procedure to get to the gate and were forced to be stranded. FIRST CLASS: food service: could there be a rating less than POOR? we were given 10,000 miles (yes that bad) but just like Whose line - the points don't matter when the airlines is that bad! Crew response: We're not any worse than the other airlines - my response: WRONG! NO WIFI NO entertainment NO CHARGING AREA magazines were missing pages in both seats- requested new one never received"
Pros: "On an overnight long-haul the thing I hope for most is sleep. The crew rapidly started beverage service after takeoff. Dinner was cleared and lights turned down about 1.5 hours later, including three opportunities for beverages. Lights came back up only about an hour before landing. Despite that no one seemed rushed. Seconds were offered for coffee, passengers had time to use the restroom before de-planing. We likely had almost 4 hours of our approximately 7.5 hour itinerary to attempt sleep."
Cons: "Having said that, the seats are not made for my over 6 feet tall spouse and myself. More leg room isn't going to help a lot. There's too much room between our necks and heads and the headrest so we end up slumped over even if we recline the seats. Hoping to win the lottery so we can afford first class some day."
Cons: "But the second plane was worse.... no video screens of any kind, no charging of any kind, no headrests, chairs were stiff and uncomfortable. You can stream shows on their wifi (free) but only if you have a charged smartphone or tablet, otherwise you're SOL. 2 bathrooms for the main cabin on a 6 hour flight"

Cons: "Didn’t like the credit card advertising announcement over the intercom and then again by the crew. The lack of food and snack options was pretty sad but that’s par for the course nowadays. One of my pet peeves: People boarded with out verification of their boarding pass location. By the time we boarded, 90% of the plane was loaded and we were in the middle. Luckily that had no impact but annoying bc people are trying to get their overhead bins before they run out, which they did."
Pros: "Absolutely no part of the flight was comfortable or enjoyable."
Cons: "The plane itself was clearly an older model, lacking many amenities I’ve come to expect flying coach. The overhead compartments were too small for larger carryon luggage, and no one on the crew alerted passengers to this. Thus, many passengers had to go against the traffic of those still boarding to find space for luggage. My seat was at the back of the plane so I had to spend close to 15 extra minutes walking back to the front against boarding passengers to find a place to put my luggage. A simple warning from the crew when I boarded would have prevented mine and many others unnecessary trouble simply boarding. During a very turbulent flight, the captain nor the crew made any announcements about turbulence, our safety, or our progress. Also during the flight, one of the flight attendants got into an awkward verbal spat with one of the passengers. Completely unprofessional and bothersome. Additionally, I had fallen asleep when dinner was being first served, but woke up before it was finished. A flight attendant approached me and asked if I’d like a dinner to which I replied “Yes”. The flight attendant never returned with a dinner for me, thus I did not eat the dinner, which I had paid for. Lastly, and perhaps most disturbing, was what transpired when a passenger had a medical emergency. With no warning, all of the airplane lights turned on and a loud “CODE RED” was announced over the sound system. Imagine being a sleeping passenger like myself, during a very turbulent flight, to be suddenly awoken to bright lights and a CODE RED shouted loudly over the PA. I’m not overexaggerating when I say that I was preparing for the worst. A truly terrifying moment that I am certain was shared with many others on board. To make matters even worse, as a flight attendant rushed to find a first aid kit (which she had trouble finding) she opened up the compartment over my partners seat and dropped a passengers ipad on her head. The flight attendant did return to apologize, but it was little consolation compared to the stress and panic the crew created. I have flown many times, and this was easily the worst flight of my life. American Airlines should be ashamed of the conditions they put their passengers in and they have lost two customers for good."

Then we were told they are waiting on a rear flight crew from another flight. After getting the rear flight crew, we were told that the front flight crew "timed out" and they had to look for other pilots. Needles to say after arriving at West Palm Beach at 1:00 in the morning...about four hours late the passengers were all devastated. American could have orchestrated this so much better"
