When one flight changed departure time, we no longer had our great pre-selected seats & couldn’t check in online. We had to work it out with delta & then aero Mexico t. After 30 min on the phone we got the last 3 bavk row seats near the toilets & cackling, aging flight attendants. No reclining or real food made for a lousy 3 1/2 hr lunch flight. No apologies, smiles of sympathy. Just snacks tossed our way"

Even if you have a ticket labeled as Group 1, you may still be one of the last boarded because of all the different programs that have priority over you. Would be better to limit the advance boarding to people who need extra help and a single program. This leads to the question, why are there so many different programs? Wouldn't it be easier to have a single loyalty program? If you don't qualify for advance boarding because you did not purchase a first class seat, or you haven't reached the advance boarding requirements, you don't qualify. Let's start thinking about the customer again, and less on the profit margin. How would one of your executives feel if they had a boarding Group 2 and 85% of the plane was already boarded by the time your group was called, thereby limiting the space for your correct size carry-on? One more thing that would be beneficial, enforce the size limit for carry-on luggage. I have been to airports that limit the size with a box on the x-ray machine so you can not even get an oversized piece of luggage through security. Just one idea for the industry."

Not airlines fault and likely result of holiday backlog Retrieving baggage from plane was biggest issue - use a carry on to but was required to valet bag as opposed to storing overhead. Baggage unloading was late (again, holiday backlog) but no personnel were available to inform passengers of delay, and bags were not in initial cart. Resulted a delay of offloading by roughly 20 minutes. Was ultimately found in the second wave of luggage, and witnessed baggage handlers tossing luggage carelessly onto cart floor. Nothing was damaged but was annoyed at lack of communication and overall disorganization."

I was rescheduled on a flight home and was forced to sit in the row in front of the bathroom by the window. Likely the most cramped seat on the aircraft. I literally could not sit upright with out my head striking the wall. To top it all off they lost my bag. After hours of wrangling with the baggage folks it could not be located in their computer system at all. I was told they could only reimburse for $3,500. Needless to say I had some expensive camera equipment in my checked luggage and was not too excited about this reimbursement cap. By some miracle the bag ended up at my home destination. It was off in the corner of baggage claim. No tag on it, no one standing around it, no one knew anything about it. I just happen to walk by it on my way out of the airport. Horrible experience. I think I’ll stick with the other airlines in the future."

It’s like they know, they are messed up so they avoid being on calls! How bad this is. Even when I get a number for them it’s not even free call it’s an international number. And after all of these, I get notifications from kayak, I don’t even know why. If kayak is stating that it’s nit responsible for any issues that could happen between a customer and any page he/she got redirected to, so why am I even getting notifications now? Pros: "This was our first time using Frontier and we were skeptical because of the low fares. At each step along the way we were glancing at each other and waiting for the other shoe to drop, but were very pleasantly surprised by the end of the trip to have found nothing wrong or hidden. As a person who has flown regularly for over 40 years on both budget and full service carriers, and had always enjoyed it up until the late 90’s, at which time I really began to dread going through the entire process; this was a really pleasant surprise. On our way home in the car after our return, both my wife and I agreed that this was the first time in years that we didn’t have any complains about the experience and that we actually had mildly enjoyed it. Maybe that was just a lack of pain. At least on this first time using Frontier we got more than we expected. I think if you take the time to understand the business model the first time you book and you follow the booking process; the seat and baggage selection choices and the check-in procedures, you will get a good bang for your buck. We did upgrade some selections but even with that, we were still way under the next carriers fare price point. Maybe if we had not taken the opportunity to upgrade during the online booking process it might have been a different experience. This flight was two round trip tickets from Cincinnati to San Diego. The first part was a non-stop and the return was a one-stop in Denver. All three legs were on an Airbus 320’s. On all three legs we had isle seats in the first 6 rows (2C/ 2D, 3C/ 3D and 6C/ 6D). We don’t care about, nor expect frills; we only want to get there and back comfortably with good value fares; and that’s what we got."

The adds on (seat/luggage/food) put the cost of flying with Frontier to the same level as the airlines that don't charge for additional "things"! Pros: "Yes the crew is normally fine but where I feel most complaints about staff come from out front at check in and at the gate. I downloaded my pass online so I can only speak to the gat for this trip but both of the crew I felt with far more personal than normals (they actually seamed to smile). I still almost missed the flight because they forgot to actually put me on the plane even though the app gave me a boarding pass that got me past TSA. They also have new bundles that make buying a drink more worth it."

Cons: "What made this flight worse was the wait time at Denver, 4 hours at the airport that was a bit too much. Also they changed the gate on us and no one from Frontier came up to tell us that it was changed. A lot of us were at the gate and 20 minutes before the flight was supposed to leave we were all asking one another if a crew was going to show up. Then a women comes running up and says they changed the departure gate. So we all had grab out belongings and to the gate on the other side."

He, nor any of the stewardesses made any other contact for at least 1/2 hour. Finaly, the captain said we could use the restrooms as we waited. NO contact from the flight crew, or other contact from the Captain until we were finally led to a gate. Communication is everything. It would have eased the temperaments of the passengers a great deal to have more updates, and even the presence of a stewardess. NOTHING>"

Cons: "My biggest complaint is the lack of communication. Upon booking they do not make you aware that you have to pay extra to bring luggage of any kind. This added $60 to my trip, making the flight no longer "low cost" also I was sitting in the back of the plane and the bathrooms were emitting a sewage smell during the whole flight. We were also delayed for over an hour both ways once sitting on the plane and there was no explanation as to why. I would never consider taking this airline again."

The pilots did an excellent job of providing an uneventful, peaceful, safe, and gentle flight. Takeoff and landing were great on both the inbound and outbound flights. I was able to get to my destination and return home safely on both flights which was my major objective."
Cons: "At least 1-2 flight attendants on both flights, in general, were quite rude and seemed uncaring at times to the needs of some of the other passengers. From chewing and smacking gum, using their cellphones while standing in the aisles amongst the passengers during boarding, and appearing quite irritated/short when interacting with passengers, it seems to me customer service was not a big priority in their training course and/or job requirements. I sat in an "upgraded" ($16 extra), economy, aisle seat, not located immediately in front of or in between the window exits on my outbound flight and in a middle, non-upgraded, economy seat near the back of the plane on my inbound flight. Neither seat was able to recline and both were quite rigid and almost painful to sit in during the flight. I have flown many times throughout my 46 year life, but these had to be the most uncomfortable seats I have ever had on a flight. I understand about saving money and using a no-frills airline carrier, but I think some of the issues mentioned could have been improved without adding any increased cost."
Pros: "We were greeted and told, "We can get you to SLC until tomorrow", but that quickly changed to, "we can potentially book you on another airline". Within 30 minutes we were booked on a Delta flight that got us to SLC through Denver 30 minutes earlier than planned. We enjoyed beverages and snacks on Delta that would not have been provided by Frontier. The clerk at the Frontier ticketing counter was most helpful. We were able to make it to SLC and a wonderful vacation with family. We also received a voucher for $200 each. We will try Frontier again."

Cons: "Multiple delays, poor communication from staff, flight was moved to a different terminal (international) but no staff member went around to notify sleeping passengers (this occurred around 1am but other passengers woke up those sleeping at the original gate, had to walk from domestic to international due to the late hour, flight cancelled at 3:30 in the morning, first told crew timed out then that since original delay for the crew was weather related that the passengers are not 'entitled to compensation' and that we were 'invited to stay and sleep at the gate' while crew was off duty, multiple phone calls to customer service yielded minimal results, airline reimbursed hotel but NOT transportation up to $150 but passengers had to identify hotels at 3:30-4am without assistance (can't find a hotel at that hour or that rate near SFO, rescheduled flight was then delayed over 2 hours, gate agents unable to use computer system or print and almost denied boarding after their attempt to check myself and the rest of our party in accidentally removed us from the seat map"
