Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Clear instructions, clean plane, flight on time."
Cons: "Getting food service back on plains."
Cons: "DCA poorly organized"
Cons: "Play primetime tonight cancel playing in late overnight real pain in the butt"
Cons: "I never got to go on my trip... wasted all my money and never got anywhere and can't seem to get a refund or at least another ticket."
Pros: "Boarding was quick and well organized. Crew was friendly."
Cons: "By the time the snack service was completed, the plane was already descending and the crew had to pick up the service items before people had a chance to finish."
Pros: "I've been flying Spirit lately to save money, so know that this is my comparison. American Airlines staff were friendly and helpful, the website was easy to use for things such as changing seats and adding bags, and I really appreciate the updates from AA via email and text. I appreciate the snack."
Cons: "No complaints."
Pros: "Entertainment system was great."
Cons: "Some crew does a little rough service but not but. Probably too busy for them."
Cons: "No delay Ability to connect wireless headphones"
Cons: "There was a 1.5 hour weather delay."
Pros: "The boarding agent and flight attendants were on, although the flight attendants didn’t do a second drink service on a six-hour flight out of laziness but blamed turbulence. (There were 2 hours after the turbulence with fasten seatbelt signs off.)"
Cons: "No in-flight entertainment except on your own device. No power, ensuring your device will die on a long flight. The old US Airways fleet from the Northeast is awful. And the lazy flight attendants didn’t do a second drink service."
Pros: "Second flight had more comfortable seating in comparison to our first flight."
Pros: "Customer service"
Pros: "Plane was a little bigger from Grand Rapids and they moved us around to balance the plane and a lot of us got better seats."
Pros: "Deplaning in White Plains"
Cons: "Boarding the way there, they did not honor my AA Advantage card to board earlier because my boarding pass did not say so. Even after seeing it said so in the computer system, they refused to honor it. So this time, I gave up and boarded with the last group. No prior warning was given that this plane would not allow for carry on luggage in overhead bins. Further were no charging ports on board, no free WiFi, no adjustable headrests, and the seats did not recline. There were no kosher cookies."
Pros: "Boarded and left in-time. Arrived a little early. Friendly crew and good app for entertainment on smartphone or tablet. App tracks baggage."
Cons: "Long lines for self-serve bag kiosks at LAX and not enough agents to assist. Baggage agent left the desk saying she had to go on a lunch break and another agent had to take over. Seemed like some confusion with the staffing which slowed things down."
Pros: "on time, even a little early"
Cons: "Same is last."
Pros: "Flight was on time."
Cons: "It’s a commuter. It’s tiny. In flight left trash with us till plane was about to land. Pilots seemed inexperienced. Landing was hard, braking was hard approach was awkward and it was a beautiful day with no wind. Pilot shortage isn’t helping the regionals."
Pros: "Nothing about the flight we screwed around before takeoff, in the air as well as on the ground. Wasted an hour and a half, missed my connection"
Cons: "Seat was uncomfortable, no entertainment, barely a snack. Sadness."
Cons: "A two-stop flight turned into a three-stop flight and lost connecting flights!"
Pros: "Nice crew, very reasonable cost. Didn’t like the “no overhead access” but worth it for the money I saved."
Cons: "The seats are ridiculously crowded. It’s really so uncomfortable and claustrophobic, even for shorter flights."
Pros: "quick flight"
Cons: "seats are very cramped"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing was good about this flight."
Cons: "An 8 hour delay to get from DFW to DC, after an 18 hour flight from Sydney. No one knew where the plane was and the delay changed from 3 hours, to 5 hours to finally 8 hours. The former, refitted United Airlines plane, with no frills, no electric outlets, uncomfortable seats, and the joke that is the "recline" position."
Cons: "Boarding is always awkward on any airline. If you boarded back to front and deplaned front to back, time and aggravation would be reduced."
Pros: "They left my 72 year old dad without the assistance that was contracted!"
Cons: "The gate attendant wouldn’t talk to me on the phone and my dad couldn’t speak due to a stroke"
Pros: "Planes were punctual and smooth flight"
Cons: "Seats are small, tight and don’t recline much."
Pros: "I was truly surprised by how smooth the entire experience was on this flight. The crew was excellent and the flight was on time!"
Pros: "Very little legroom for a 5 hour flight."
Pros: "Smooth at GRR. A little Delay in CLT. It was a good experience because we weren't on a deadline to be somewhere."
Pros: "Smooth ride and friendly helpful airline atendents."
Pros: "Flight crew were visibly exhausted and nervous. WORST FLYING EXPERIENCE EVER. It's unfortunate that this leg of the trip was American Eagle. We paid a lot for these tickets."
Cons: "Flight crew were visibly exhausted and nervous. WORST FLYING EXPERIENCE EVER. It's unfortunate that this leg of the trip was American Eagle. We paid a lot for these tickets."
Pros: "flight left on time and went smoothly. Flight crew was very nice."
Cons: "person next to me did not fit in their seat and spilled over into mine. Could not even put armrest down - so i was sitting in less than a full seat.."
Cons: "No wifi or any video"
Cons: "Sat on the tarmac for 35 minutes without a single announcement as to why there was a delay."
Pros: "Quickly boarding, crew was extremely polite"
Cons: "No kosher food on board"
Pros: "Very comfortable"
Cons: "Kept asking passengers pretty boarding to check luggage due to limited space...yet after we boarded there was at least 1 completely empty overhead compartment."
Pros: "On time."
Cons: "Seats are not roomy, but that's par for the course."
Pros: "Very efficient boarding, comfortable coach seats, good crew"
Cons: "No food! except pretzels and sandwiches for purchase. I didn't purchase a sandwich but on the outbound flight, the two guys next to me did and were both vocal about their disappointment with what they received for $9. And they were strangers who didn't talk to each other the rest of the time, so I think they meant it. Also, entertainment: they had a movie on the pop-down screens, and 4 free movies to stream to your device using on-board Wifi, as well as 2 TV shows. So maybe I'm being harsh. But it was a transcontinental flight and they didn't have headrest screens loaded with movies. Is this only for international flights? The movies were bad, or at least not appealing to me ('Keanu' and 'Zoolander 2'). It was possible to pay for additional movies, but who wants to do that? It was sort of the EasyJet model, where you get good basic service but pay for everything additional that one gets for free on Delta. Maybe that was reflected in the price I paid for the ticket, but I was expecting that AA would be in the same league as United and Delta. One nice perk: free wifi for T-Mobile customers, including me."
Cons: "First of all, we got on plane on time but had to wait 1h and 15 min to take off!!!ok that's the airport!!!They didn't even welcome us in plane. No food at all!Coke in plastic cup?Just this?No smile, not a blanket even air condition so strong!!!The manager of American Airlines should try to fly with Greek companies! And I don't mean with Olympic airways in Onassis time(with Coco Chanel suits the hall crew) but I mean now, in poor Greece's Aegean air which again and again wins the price of best airliner in Europe..Service, crew, foooood!!!Polite people..Blankets!!! I feel sorry for American Airlines..Ok we landed safe..Thank God, that's something..."
Pros: "The flight crew was exetrmely helpful"
Cons: "Even for a more room seat it was a bit tight"
Pros: "Easier to board. Smaller plane so not as many people to climb over"
Cons: "Planes overall every airline are too tight but AA seemed better than others I've been on actually"
Cons: "Crew didn't smile much."
Cons: "You couldn't hear anything as people boarded."
Cons: "We were never offered our drink or snack. Then the male attendant called my wife "sir" when asking her to put up the tray table"
