Pros: "Although departure was delayed, we arrived early!"

Cons: "Beverage and movie player service was quite a while after when I expected. Movies were very limited compared to other airlines, and a $10 fee. The beverage/ food sales service did need to stop because of turbulence and didn’t restart fast enough for the passengers at the back of the plane that missed out. No water offered before landing, FYI. No blankie and pillow either."

In fact, unless I went to the agent's desk, I'm not sure they would have even remembered. Then my husband and I were split on the plane, and even worse, assigned in middle seats. Unacceptable. Last, unlike Hawaiian, they served no food. I'm flying Hawaiian in the future."

Cons: "Look every one experiances problems. It comes in the form of weather, mechanical or security issues that disrupt a flight in the form of delays. There is no surprise when this occurs. So when a three hour delay is thrust upon you and you have already given up your carry on and your assigned seats perhaps the recovery should have been less of a surprise. One pilot announcement, and offer of free loyalty points falls so short. No comp eat or drink coupons on the ground. Still got billed for food and wifi. Drinks were offered but ofcourse they ran out before the center of the AC was served. The recovery happens at the moment not in the next few days you will recieve an email with miles. Still haven't gotten any email after a week. I will fly anybody other then Alaska."

They had to stop service with only a few rows left to go due to turbulence but rather it just being a delay in service, the flight attendants never came back to check on the customers they hadn’t served even when the seat belt lights turned off. I really enjoy flying Delta but not this time!"

Usually feel like it is an inconvenience to ask for more than one.... but they offered 2! I was very happy to hear that!!"

Pros: "It was actually a flight from new Orleans to Detroit. Seats were assigned at the gate for myself and many others. It seemed like the gate agent didn't care where she assigned guests who were travelling together as several people were not able to sit with their travel companion. Once I was on the plane I however switched with someone to allow them to sit next to their companion and put me closers to mine. Everything else went smoothly."

He took time to chat with us and answer our questions, which made me feel more comfortable about the long flight. The stewards/stewardesses were very nice and had us laughing on their welcome messages. The lay-flat seats in first class were the best. Very comfortable, and easy to fall asleep in, without disruption from other passengers who insist on keeping their reading lights on while everyone is trying to sleep."

Cons: "Far and away the most uncomfortable and worst value-for-money international flight I've experienced. This plane is so old it should be put in a museum. The warm food was terrible and the non-hot food was completely frozen so even if I wanted to eat it, this wouldn't be possible. Individual seat in-flight entertainment screens have been the norm for many years, yet this plane had the community-style in-flight entertainment. Half of the time, the screens weren't working, which just made matters worse. The total lack of legroom and chair ergonomics made getting comfortable nearly impossible. I was literally in pain sitting in these seats. I live in Prague and visit family in the US often. This was my first experience with American Airlines' newer direct flight option from Prague to Philadelphia; based on the extreme discomfort of the inflight features and to top it off it was the highest price I've paid for a flight back home...(total lack of value for the money! )I would go out of my way to make sure I never take this route again."

Just a couple pounds over the 50lbs and you get screwed with a $100 fee. There is very little AC in the airport and very few outlets so if you have to wait for a flight make sure to charge your devices prior to getting to the airport. WiFi on this an all other American Airlines flights I've recently taken has been useless - almost impossible to use."

Cons: "A passenger caused a delay in security, and as I'm rushing for the gate, the agent closed the door and told me I couldn't board. She then marked me as a no-show, while she was standing right next front of her. I had to spend the next 4 hrs on the phone, trying to get my tickets sorted out. Then, upon arriving at Heathrow,... No luggage. They told me it was still in Chicago. Upon finally receiving my bags, I find them full of sawdust and sand, and several items damaged. I will NEVER fly American Airlines again, and I will highly recommend to my friends and family to avoid them like them plague. Horrible service! Nothing but a run-around and not once did the agents apologise, even after admitting that my problems on this journey were due to a mistake made by one of their agents."

Cons: "Takeoff was delayed about 35 minutes just due to traffic on the runway. Out of all the flights on our international trip, the only issues we experienced were with American airports. You would think an issue like this would be readily solved by foreplanning, but instead we sat on the tarmac just waiting for our turn to take off. Some form of entertainment on the plane would've been nice. Or at least a place to charge electronics. Our bags arrived at our destination before we did, and although I immediately received a text alerting me to this fact, I was dismayed to find out they were in an entirely different terminal of the DFW airport. After 24 hours of travel and very little sleep, instead of just walking off the plane and retrieving our bags, our group of 20 weary souls had to first determine where our luggage was, catch a bus to a different terminal ( because of the size of our group we couldn't all fit on the first bus, so had to wait for the second bus), and then track down our bags. American Airlines did absolutely nothing to help make this experience any easier for us. Five of our party were in wheelchairs due to various levels of exhaustion or ailment, and all we were told is "I'm sorry but there's nothing we can do." This little adventure delayed us about an hour."

Pros: "Why would a jet this size wobble all the way across the Atlantic! The pretzels were even stale, and they served a "pizza" that was a stale mini loaf with sauce and a little mozzarella. People were starving when breakfast was served. The thermostat fluctuated from horribly hot to freeing - for 14 hrs. The crew slammed things down on table trays, grumped, were giving harsh orders to patrons rather than gently directing them. These ladies do not enjoy their job. I am done with Delta. We were also an hour late taking off due to a door on a cargo hold not closing. I was embarrassed that our Aussie friends experienced this as their first American flight."

It was 80 degrees outside but much hotter inside the plane. Quite miserable. Overall it was over 2 1/2 hour delay."

Pros: "Haven't flown United, now we remember why. Paid extra for comfort and the seats we had were actually more cramped than those around our seating. A long trip with no food, unless you want to pay more than a high end restaurant in Maui. No entertainment made a long, uncomfortable flight unbearable."

Cons: "The flight was delayed and there was no communication at the gate at all, while we sat in a really hot and humid Newark airport. Then the baggage handlers neglected to load an entire luggage cart onto the plane, so our suitcase did not make it home with us. We did get it later, but I am not impressed at all by this experience."

Cons: "United stewardesses have little to no interest in their duties. Questions were clearly an annoyance to them. The leg of flight from Denver to Des Moines was very uncomfortable, seats much to tigh, no leg room. Gate staff in Denver were exceptional. United needs to revisit their time for loading. We preloaded, I had a broken leg, I was traveling with a special needs woman. We just reached our seats when other passengers were prodding us to sit so they could board no time to settle. Not impressed"

Pros: "Nice new plane. Very clean. Decent room in economy plus. On board food is expensive but tastes ok. Free soft drinks served a couple of times during the flight (4.5 hours)"
Cons: "No in seat screen for movies. Only if you had your own personal device e.g. iPad. Also access was not working consistently across the plane. Was told that only a certain a certain number of seats could access the in flight entertainment system at one time and "to keep trying" and "hopefully someone will drop off soon". In the end they acknowledged the issue and told all passengers to go online for compensation which they honored immediately."

Cons: "We sat on the plane for almost an hour before takeoff. We actually sat so long that they did the safety demonstration twice. It was absurd. Mistakes happen, but my overall trip must have fallen in the unlucky category. I'll continue to use kayak, but I'll be reluctant to book United Airlines."

Cons: "I sat next to someone who basically took up half my seat which is the most uncomfortable way to spend a redeye. And an eight dollar fee for DirecTV is the silliest thing I've ever heard of for a 6 hour flight."

Pros: "An eighty-five mile an hour tailwind got us from Los Angeles to Denver twenty-five minutes early. At LAX, our departure gate was only three gates from the arrival gate of our connecting flight, so no long trek through LAX. Seats on our 737-900 were tight and didn't recline far but, hey, United is the Wal-Mart of modern air travel. What do you expect?!"

Pros: "The space in between the row in front was above average. The extra space is appreciated. Gate agents were kind and helpful during the boarding process."
Cons: "Sat on tarmac for 1 hour after landing. I know that wasn't the crews fault. But they could have given more frequent updates and at least told us what gate we were at so we could have a better idea when trying to frantically make our connections. Also the entertainment was pricey for a 5 hour flight that I paid good money for. I thinK basic movies should just be included in the fees"

Cons: "Flight canceled after being delayed for 4 hrs with no explanation and no helpful options. Ended up waiting 2 more hrs to retrieve luggage then rented a car to get home. So dissatisfied with all the travel!"
