Cons: "Ordered a vegan meal for flight companion pre-flight; we *both* received a vegan meal (it seems like people with incompatible diets cannot book their flights together). Flight seemed to have run out meals since a random third person in my row requested an extra meal and was told they were out. Flight etiquette of other passengers would have been nice; for example, it was also fairly unsafe for a father and child to keep walking up and down the aisles, let alone the bumping into people they kept doing."

In particular, for the Auckland - Vancouver flight, one ground staff was telling economy passengers (in rather rude express) they were in the wrong line except there was never announcement. Overall, disappointed."

Also, the flight times AKL-YVR and YVR-AKL are so civilized! You leave each city around dinner time, you dine, you watch a movie, sleep as much as you want, have breakfast, and then it's time to land! Way better than other options that leave at odd times."

Pros: "We flew Air Canada’s Economy Plus from Vancouver to Sydney and Air New Zealand’s Economy Plus from Auckland back to Vancouver. NZ’s Economy Plus product is far and above AC’s. Everything from the welcome, to the meal, to the level of service is great. I really felt that NZ treated the Econ Plus cabin as distinct from Economy (including having 2 dedicated washrooms), whereas on AC it felt like we were merely Economy with better seats. I compare NZ and AC because we were so genuinely impressed with what we purchased. We would definitely book NZ Econ Plus again, and the January seat sale is a great time to do so!"

Unfortunately, we had an older flight attendant who seemed less than thrilled to be with us this flight."

Pros: "I was on flight nz10 from Auckland to hawaii 3/28th. Loved the crew, they got us on board quickly and we would have taken off on time but had to wait for 2 people showing up late. Anyway, it was a redeye so people slept for most of it and I watched movies and drank wine. The airplane was clean and bathroom were as well. It was a full flight so a little cramped."
Pros: "Significantly more leg room than other competitors! Even with the person's chair reclined in front of me, I was still able to be comfortable. The staff were excellent, the food was as good as can be (given that it is airline food), the choices for entertainment were great. Lots of overhead storage!"
Cons: "Some of the screens need to be refurbished. The person in the seat behind me had to jab at their screen to make it work (or perhaps they were too lazy to be conscientious?). Mine worked fine but I had to be very cognizant to leave my finger on the screen rather than poke."

For a long, overseas flight, more space is needed. I had more legroom on my domestic flight with United. Also, the airline attendants for Air NZ were unpleasant and downright grumpy at times. It made a long, uncomfortable flight seem a whole lot longer."

Can barely fit a small carry on sized bag under the seat in front of me. Ran out of food less than half way through the flight. Offered zero compensation."

I had to make new arrangements myself and the only option was to fly out earlier in the day and lose a day of sightseeing and time with family that I made the trip for in the first place. I had to race to the airport to get there in time. It ruined our trip."

I ended up having to pay for 2 meals that I could only eat parts of. And it took more than 1 HOUR for them to bring me these meals. I’ve never had to wait more than 5 mins for a meal, that I PAID for, to be delivered to my seat. I was starving, forced to waste money on meals I couldn’t fully eat AND had to wait over an HOUR to receive them. I am beyond disappointed."

Since it didn’t, many plans in Hancock had to be rearranged and my ride has to rearrange her schedule. Not to mention, I had to rearrange my schedule again just to pick it up at the airport the next day."

Cons: "Stopping the plane to fuel at another airport understandable. But then you ran out of food for purchase on the first flight (I was sitting in the back). Then connecting at LAX was horrible. Everyone had connecting flights. Off the plane onto a bus. then through customs then shuffled outside with no guidance from employees. Finally I found someone to ask bc 15-20 people were around me in the same boat. Where the f do we go we wondered. The employee was insanely rude. I’m attentive and I listen. he was saying pay attention I told you go right blah blah blah. He was literally standing there with his arm out pointing right and never said a word to anyone. So once we figured out to go outside and right we had a stressful ten minute wal hoping we were going the right way. We were! We get to tsa and have to go through screening again. Which is insane bc we just got off a plane. The tsa agent told us this happens everyday with a smerk. On top of her attitude, her and the two other lazy ladies on her line were painfully slow. The other two lines went at least twice as fast(no exaggeration!) made it to gate 66 to find it was changed without notice to 63. Made the flight by two minutes or less sweating from running around!"
Cons: "Passenger next to me seated in the aisle seat had a seat belt extension and needed two seats. I was in the middle and had a very uncomfortable flight. His arms were on my side and fortunately my husband was in the window seat and I leaned into him the entire time. The mans wife was not next to him but across the aisle and I understand why! He also had very poor hygiene."

Pros: "A Flight attendant went beyond the call of duty when she found me after I had returned to my seat. This was after I had walked to the rear of the acft to work out a bad cramp in my thigh. She provided me with a hot water bottle that did wonders in relieving the pain and stopped the cramp from returning."

Pros: "My flights arrived early on both ends of a round trip—loved it! Plus, it was great having more leg room than the average airline offers. I'm over 6 feet tall. Leg room is a VERY big deal for folks like me."

Pros: "Hawaiian Air crews deliver better service in a more professional manner than most others. We had a difficult group of passengers causing a delay upon boarding. The crew took care that well."
Cons: "Domestic air travel in the USA has generally lost it's way. The costomer experience can be negatively influenced at so many points during the average trip. On this flight, other passengers (one family) with disgusting manners, smelly carry on food and generally poor attitudes, made it a captive experience. The crew were the bright spot. An airline can't help that much but, can mitigate the damage and the employees did that. You have very good people."

The flight crew were friendly and polite, the complimentary meal in coach was a pleasant surprise, and the A330-2 was smartly designed for relative comfort and accessibility."

I understand paying for the movies (although if you really wanted to stand out above the competition you could offer a select movie for free like in the old days), however the option to watch some satellite tv channels at no cost would be great. Cons: "Seven-hour delay due to mechanical failure. They finally found a new aircraft but one of the forward exit doors was inop so they had to rope off first and kick everyone in back to coach. This made a lot of people angry-- one so much so that he had to be ejected from the plane. This meant another hour of delay AFTER WE WERE ONBOARD. All the while, the only updates anyone got were along the lines of "There's a delay and we're working to remedy the situation." No explanation as to what was happening or when we would be taking off. Then, as if that wasn't enough, they announced that the flight crew was now over their legal limit for consecutive hours and they would have to find a new crew. I'm surprised there wasn't a full-on riot at this point. Everyone managed to remain calm, though, through the additional 1.5 hours we remained there waiting for the new crew-- with no compensation, no free drinks, not even WATER. Inexcusable, Hawaiian Air. You just lost a customer."

We had to ask for a wet tissue and clean it up. That was of no use too as it wouldn't scrub off. My wife was feeling under the weather and so we asked for a blanket. The blanket was hardly a blanket and more like a towel. We then luckily could switch seats as there were 2 vacant. But, the air conditioner was leaking water in the seat to our left. The crew was callous and just stuck the passenger with some napkins saying it does that. I don't fly Delta a lot and my experience in this trip isn't inspiring much confidence."

He took time to chat with us and answer our questions, which made me feel more comfortable about the long flight. The stewards/stewardesses were very nice and had us laughing on their welcome messages. The lay-flat seats in first class were the best. Very comfortable, and easy to fall asleep in, without disruption from other passengers who insist on keeping their reading lights on while everyone is trying to sleep."

They had touch screens on the backs of the seats so you could choose movies, radio, games, and flight info and the seats were much more comfortable."

Cons: "It took several hours for the decision to be made to cancel our original flight from PV to Van, and when the final decision was made, the complete lack of sympathy or communication came as a shock. No one informed us why we were moving to another terminal or that our flight had actually been cancelled and we would be staying another night in Mexico for another two hours. Getting our hotel voucher and transportation to the venue took another several hours. (Sorry Westin, but you also receive poor marks on your food services. Your front desk people were great though!) The following morning we were not informed that there would be no food service on the flight, so my kids were starving by the time we touched down in Vancouver. The ordeal was exhausting and when we finally arrived in Vancouver we almost missed our connecting flight because of a huge error in off-loading our luggage. It shouldn’t take over an hour to receive your luggage. Again, the communications break down led to hightened anxiety and stress. The whole horrible journey home with WestJet made the loveliness of my actual holiday pale into the background. I was very disappointed in WestJet as I’ve had fabulous experiences in the past. If possible, I will avoid flying with them again any time soon."

Allmost missed the 1st flight getting it fixed, they also didn’t book my child in adjacent seats, despite pre-booking the seats on the flight days before."

The new boarding passes provided also pushed most of us passengers back to the last seats at the back of the plane.. which was a very uncomfortable experience."
