Pros: "I'm used to being spoiled by Hawaiian Airlines. By comparison to Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian is a lot warmer with customer service, they are more efficient, they give you a free meal for trans-pacific flights, and they give you a screen or full entertainment system (depending on what kind of airplane you get). Alaska Airlines, by contrast, is a lot more bare-bones. I hardly had any contact with the flight attendants (when I did, they were nice enough I suppose), there was no food on the flight unless you paid a good penny for it, the seats were pretty average, and there was nothing really to watch (not even a common screen for movies, and this was a trans-pacific flight). You had to order their entertainment iPads. So I pretty much slept. That said, both Alaska and Hawaiian have good prices. Alaska had better options for departure and arrival times."

I like Alaska Airlines but truely the plane I was on was old, crowded and hated the flight. Alaska could step up to the plate and provide a better experience. If I gauged my experience on Alaska through today's flight I would never fly them again. Really Alaska I know you can do better."
Pros: "Going through TSA was horrible!! Honolulu airport definitely needs more help to get people through the lines. We are both in our 70's and had to wait way to long of time to get through security!!!"
Cons: "The flight was good but when we landed at Sea-Tac airport, we had to wait 1 hour and 50 minutes to get to our gate!!! It was 2 hours before we got off the plane. We missed our Sea-Tac shuttle to take us to Oak Harbor and had to reschedule. We just made the next one and it cost us to reschedule. Thank goodness they had room for us on the next shuttle!!! Not very happy!!! It was no fault of the Alaska pilots or crew but the management of the airlines!!"

Cons: "-At HNL there was poor signage to get from the rental car return to the airline. Once we got into the terminal it really wasn't clear if we should go left or right, We wound up asking an American employee where Alaska was. -After the checked bag agriculture inspection it was not clear that you go to the kiosks there right after the inspection. I think it partially wasn't clear because there were multiple large groups traveling with tons of luggage and you go straight to the kiosks and then back track to hand over your checked bag. The line for checking the bag vs needing help wasn't clear either. Luckily there were Alaska employee's there helping at the kiosks and with the bag checking so it did go smooth but could definitely be better."

Cons: "I found the aisle seats to be more uncomfortable than the inner seats. There was less room under the seat for baggage and feet and I got my elbow banged pretty bad by a cart (I had fallen asleep). I also think it is lame to be charged for basically everything but a drink and a cracker on a 5+ hour flight. We get nickle and dimed for everything. $10 for each food item, $10 for a movie screen (what happened to the good old days with free in flight movies?). We have to pay to check luggage ($25 bucks). We normally avoid flying if humanly possible because it is in general too much stress and too expensive but we prefer Southwest airlines if they will go to our destination. Bags are included with their tickets!"

I endured 31F surrounded by sick coughing, sniffing, snotty nosed, sneezing people and crying children for next 6 hours...I've been back almost a week and just now feeling well enough to venture out...I will never travel Alaska airlines if they won't give me an acceptable seat assignment... Hawaiian Airlines trip there was wonderful!"

Directed to the carry on bag drop off was smooth and convenient. Appreciate the free service at the baggage drop off center for carry ins. Seats wide and comfortable, amble room for feet and excellent staff, polite, clean appearance and appropriate clothing. Wish my family could afford to use This 5 star airline to visit me at Christmas. I can't stop telling all my friends about my outstanding experience traveling from Washington state to Orlando, Florida. I have 7 family members traveling to Florida at Christmas and I do hope they can afford to to use Alaskan airlines"

I asked her what kind of juice she had and she grabbed the card from the seat in front of me and without saying a word stuck it in my face. Very impatient. she seem to be in a hurry so I was irritated and asked her to just give me a water. When I asked for water, she replied by saying "After all of that, that's all you want? ". Very unpleasant experience."

Cons: "I was stuck next to someone who stank already without having a bad problem with passing gas later in the flight, but that's not the airline's fault. Still, made the ride a bit rough for me. After a while I became less discreet about covering my nose."

Cons: "Delayed on boarding and than delayed on landing...if you have an Apple iPad or phone you would've to download an app on the ground so before take off in order to watch movies while flying so basically I wasn't able to view any of the entertainment inflight because I didn't have the gogo app on my phone/ipad and my flight was at least 5 to 6 hr HI to San Diego...plus internet was unavailable throughout entire flight...woke up and first thing I saw was a flight attendant picking of her food from her teeth using her fingers not just for a few seconds but minutes and it didn't even phase her loll smh"

Cons: "I was really excited about flying with your airline, as I have been told by many how awesome it is. However, I was on a red eye flight, and though excited to fly with you, knew I would be needing some sleep for this particular trip. I selected my seats online and boarded the plane. Shortly after takeoff I went to lean back for a restful sleep, however, the seats didn't recline at all. There was no mention on the site of this when selecting the seats. This is kind of important to some people. I'm disappointed in my flight, and the experience I had with this. I probably will not fly Alaskan airlines again."
I don't like that you have no little screen to watch a movie or be able to listen to the music channels. And the food needs to change from hot pocket meals. Back to actual little meal in the container to eat. They taste better! The pockets in front of you is not any room to put your things in anymore. Do you want us to just throw the trash on the floor?
I miss my flight, they said right gate but different airline that was print on my boarding pass. I didn't get my refund back very poor customer service at the terminal

The woman who waited on me was sympathetic to my diet and had empathy for me. She also gave me a little extra of something they had to ration when first doing diner service. I thought that was sweet. Cons: "Why on earth would you only offer one choice for a meal??? I don't eat chicken. I feel bad for all the vegetarians and vegans on that flight. Hawaii is a healthy place and should be represented in the meal on the plane. The food was bland and for someone to who doesn't eat a lot of meat it was very disappointing. Furthermore, the fact that there was NO movie on the way there and the in flight entertainment wouldn't work on my computer was really disappointing. Then on the way back I had to pay to watch!? I'm fuming about this. I HATE that airlines are doing this. It is greedy and gross."

Cons: "We were told a baggage belt had broke once we were all boarded in Honolulu. We sat on the plane for an hour in order for the crew to manually load luggage. Once we landed in San Diego around 11pm, the pilot informed us that the entire plane’s luggage indeed had NOT been loaded in that hour. Customer service informed us that shipment of our luggagewas not available until 2 days later or we could return back to the San Diego airport at Midnight the next day. The amount of costs my family have to incur due to this inconvenience between clothes, hygiene items and medicine is immense. Such a disappointment!"

Cons: "TSA was an absolute mess in Honolulu. This caused irritation on both the travelers and the workers. Once the workers were annoyed they were absolutely rude and no help. I’m glad Honolulu was a one and done situation because I will NEVER come to this airport again. The inflight crew for our flight were completely rude and rushed... it’s a 5 hour flight.. there was no need. Our entertainment didn’t work so they gave us a 25$ voucher for a future flight.... something probably not even 10% of the flight will redeem.. overall not impressed."
Pros: "The staff is friendly and well presented. The aircraft is clean and you get plenty of little freebies like snacks, pillow, and blanket. They provide complimentary meals as well. I’m sure it’s incorporated into the price of the ticket but for coach, the airline does not nickel and dime you. The pricing is on par with all the other airlines but the service and amenities without adding on extra fees make it my airline of choice for flying to Hawaii. You have the option to purchase additional things like snacks and alcohol but you do not have to in order to make it through the flight. Hawaiian Airlines provides everything to make the experience enjoyable. My wife and I have flown on Hawaiian Airlines many times and have never had a bad experience. I would consider them the gold standard in relation to the price of a coach ticket."

Cons: "Despite checking in early I was unable to get an assigned seat until the very last minute. I wanted a window seat so that I could sleep by leaning against the wall but none were available. The airline employee initially said that he could offer me an upgrade to a premium seat but then he said that none of those were available either. The seat I got in the middle had very limited padding and would not recline even an inch. I usually fall asleep easily on planes but I could not sleep at all on this overnight flight. My neck and back are still sore from the flight even after napping for 5 hours when I got home. In addition, they offered us no snacks, except for purchase. I wish Southwest flew to Hawaii!"
Pros: "Appreciated the friendly and kind staff members and crew. Also, we were able to catch a head-wind and arrived in LA about 15 minutes early. The skillfullness of the pilots in avoiding several spots of potential turbulance. Bags arrived promply and without incident. (Thank you!!) HA is generally so much more pleasant than nearly every other US airline; thank you so much!"
Cons: "The very crowded plane with virtually no empty seats... The fees for head-phone sets... The slow-response entertainment system for use by passengers... The limited choice of movies involving non-juvenile topics - would have appreciated at least 4 or 5 films to select from that involved some kind of sophistocated comedy, mixed with a touch of drama or high-quality story line. (Did select "The Big Sick" which was of very high calibre, but no other choices existed that were similar to this style blending comedy with deeper and reflective themes.) The small sizes of the snacks, which were actually very tasty (chicken teriyaki warm sandwich and potato chips)."

Cons: "I booked my flight through a third party, which was fine. I chose my seat of 21J. After picking my seat I asked my husband what seat was he in. So he called Hawaiian Airlines and gave them my seat number and she told him once he got to the airport to have see if they sit him next to me. I get to the airport print my boarding pass I have no seat assignment. Asked the lady at the counter for seat assignment and we’re sitting in the very last seat. It was crammed uncomfortable because it was hot. Nothing to watch because they want to charge for everything. I’m hoping this is my last time flying with Hawaiian Airlines."

Cons: "Not having a vegetarian option for the in flight meal was pretty dissapointing, I can't be the only vegetarian that has flown Hawaiian. And the flight attendant just said "nope" and walked away from me. The flight attendant on the right side of the aisle was super nice to the people next to me, offered them a bunch of extra chocolates and snack packets and an extra drink each of the rum mix. My flight attendant pointedly asked my age (26), and took my ID away where i couldn't see her to examine it and gave me a half full drink kind of angrily (?). It made me feel really weird to see this affluent young athletic white couple get star treatment and kind of feel second class on a flight I paid $500 for and got the exact opposite of the seat preference I put down. I wasn't exactly dressed to the nines since I was travelling all day, but I don't think I looked like that much of a hooligan. Finally, it would be really cool to see WiFi or actually complimentary entertainment on the personal tv's, like some airlines offer. Overall I really didn't have a good experience, and will avoid Hawaiian airlines when possible in the future. Thanks for reading my little rant!"

Cons: "Very loud inside the plane. No fan overhead. All entertainment was only for purchase. Food was not very good but the fruit in the morning was very fresh. It was also a very bumpy flight and I would have appreciated if I received more updates from the captain, however, a lot of people were sleeping so that would have been intrusive. I suggest a way for the captain to write a message to passengers updating them on the flight that they can access on the TV so there aren't as many announcements on overhead flights"

Cons: "When we finally arrived at the gate, and I say "finally" because HNL is such a terrible airport in general (took us over an hour to get our luggage in order to clear customs and get it back on the flight home, HA's business lounge is in a totally separate terminal from where our gate was and the little "wiki-wiki" bus that takes you from one terminal to the other was slower than walking, so we walked) there was no separate boarding line for First Class. When you've splurged on 1st class for a special occasion (25th anniversary in our case) you kind of expect all the little things (like priority boarding) to be in place."
Cons: "Every time i try to use the hawaiiain air app it may work at home then when I switch networks on my iphone i get the blue page in the app saying "The page cannot be displayed". The few times i've flown with hawaiian (3 this year) each time i try to use the app at the airport it fails, so i have to print out my boarding pass. The ios hawaiian app is not even an app, it's like a slimmed down browser just displaying a web page formatted for a smartphone screen size. What a poor excuse of an app. Do you have an application department devoted to maintaining this app? If so they are horrible. Go look at the ios reviews of the app, i'm not the only one. I can't wait for more competition to come to hawaii against your flights. You folks won't do a thing until some alternative airlines come down."
Cons: "I can't tell you how disappointed I was to learn upon arrival in New Zealand, with no forewarning or preparation, that I was to be BUG SPRAYED before being allowed to leave the airplane. I have asthma. Being sprayed with chemicals is a serious health concern for anyone, but especially for those of us with asthma. They sprayed a cloud of chemicals directly over our heads and we sat helpless as the spray settled onto our clothes and skin and into our mouth and lungs. I had a asthma attack, and when I told the stewardess she looked at me and said "It won't be much longer." It was another 15 minutes. I was so unwell that I asked my husband if he would be able to carry me if I passed out. I also unfortunately forgot my ebook reader in the seat due to my attack. When I wrote customer service I received only "We will forward your message" and no response beyond that regarding the return of my device. This entire experience has caused me great distress and I am sincerely hopeful that as a corporation you will take steps to ensure the welfare of your customers by ensuring they are aware of all treatments to expect when on board your aircraft. Had I known, I could have brought a mask and saved my serious asthma attack. I probably would not also be without my ebook reader."
Pros: "Pleasantly surprised to be offered complimentary wine and also a complimentary dinner. The touch-screen options were great--nice videos and music with music videos (could hear if you had headphones), plus my favorite: a flight tracker."
Cons: "The middle aisle section of our plane was quite cold and blankets were expensive $10. Next time I will bring one. I was cold in my jeans and light sweater. The touch-screens at each seat were frustratingly and unpredictably unresponsive. The check-in process in Honolulu Airport for Hawaiian Airlines was hands-down the most time-consuming, confusing, and crowded one I have ever been through. Kiosk screen had too much info at once so even savvy kiosk users were very slow to go through process. We had already checked in online 24 hrs prior but that didnt save us any time as we had to stand in the kiosk lines with everyone else to print our bag tags then another line to just drop our bags. Entering this check-in area was a shock to the system as it looked like a mass of people. We were directed to a vague direction where our line should be, then after standing in that line for 10 minutes we were told by a fellow customer that we had to go to a different line amd basically start over. Then came the security check line. We made it to the front looking the whole time for a designated spot to dump our kids' water bottles out (our San Diego airport has a liquid dumping spot with a sign), to no avail. Finally at the front of the line the TSA agent is about to check our boarding pass and my husband inquires about where to dump the water bottles. The agent and front of the line line is situated less than 10 feet from the wall where a drinking fountain is, but of course in our way there is a plastic half-wall barrier (the one to guide the line toward her). She tells us we have to dump it there in the drinking fountains. However the kicker is we have to get out of line to do it--can't be let out and come back to her. Have to wait in the security check line again. No, I'm not kidding. So I decide to take all water bottles and my husband takes the kids on through the security check. When I come back to get back in the security check line the person working at the entrance of that line actually was asking every single person whether they had water--guess she forgot to ask us the first time we went through... bummer. We had arrived at the airport more than 3 hours before our Tuesday 2pm flight. With stopping to eat lunch in the terminal and going through these multiple lines, by the time we got to our gate, boarding had already begun. Boarding from gate to plane went fine."
Pros: "The crew does a fine job, and the airplane is comparably clean and comfortable. I fly a fair amount however and I am always disappointed to learn what is NOT included in my fare. The direct connection between where I was an where I wanted to be made the difference in this case."
Cons: "I had a very hard time locating the correct ticketing counter. In fact, due to a lack of signs (Honolulu airport) I was in line for Australia before a person came and asked. It was poorly organized. I was disappointed to pay for my only bag (which was carry-on size and only needed to be checked due to a liquid I was bringing home). I was disappointed to learn that the only in-flight entertainment I had available without paying was short documentary films about Hawaiian Airlines or their staff's travels. On a five hour flight it is particularly frustrating to have so little available. My Delta flight by contrast offered multiple movie titles. In fact, I could have gotten another flight for less $ with more entertainment (but going to a different city)."
Pros: "For some reason the plane was swapped to the newer models so some of our group got upgraded to extra comfort since extra is given to rows 11-21 on the new planes. Row 13 was non existent anymore to make room for the lie flats so gave my in laws the extra comfort we had in row 14 and upgraded our flights to business class. Totally worth it and paid just $370 to upgrade since we got credit for the amount we paid for extra comfort ($495 - $125 credit). On a 10 hour flight it made a huge difference since we got to stretch out, nap and enjoy amazing food while being ultra comfy! I would recommend on the longer flights for sure and when you upgrade w/in 24 hours its way cheaper than the $2500+ cost that it normally would be."
Cons: "The iPads they give in Biz class are great for viewing but there was definitely less movie choices than in the main cabin. Probably only a handful of new releases versus what the main cabin had. Made a diff since i didn't want to watch Harry Potter 1-7 and it was a 4 movie long flight! Still not bad but would have loved to see all the same titles on the iPad for us to view."

Especially with taking care of an 8 month of baby, sometimes you lose track of time. We missed the original flight even though we had asked the front desk agent to contact the gate to hold it for us for a few minutes. When we arrived at the gate, the ramp had already been retracted so we missed our flight. Next flight was the next day so we had to rent another rental car, another night's hotel totaling an extra $200 in Waikiki. At least they changed my flight without fees. But overall a bad experience."

Pros: "Had a late departure from Honolulu because of an equipment repair, but the flight itself was fairly smooth and we were were grateful to have a bit of extra room on the plane because several nearby seats were not occupied. Luggage was delivered perfectly on-time upon arrival at LAX - thank you! Really appreciated the excellent customer service offered by Hawaiian Air prior to this trip, when one of the flights had to be rescheduled because of illness. Representatives were efficient, polite, and very understanding - Kudos to this carrier!"
Cons: "The touch-screen "display" was not so convenient to operate and seemed a bit archaic in style. Our outbound flight had been filled to capacity and was very unpleasant re long lines for the restrooms - but this return-segment of the trip was not crowded at all and presented a wonderful contrast."

Cons: "Stood in line for 2 hours at Honolulu Airport to drop off bags. We had to be pulled out of the line as our flight was boarding and had to run to the gate. There was no time to eat or anything else. The flight attendants are not helpful nor do they smile much. I asked for something minor on two of the Hawaiian Airlines flight legs on my trip and was told they would come to my seat to see me. (One was for an extra blanket as I had cold air blowing on me and the other was to take my rubbish) They never did. I have never encountered this with any Airline before."
Pros: "Hawaiian had an issue on my original aircraft, and we ended up having to deplane. Which is fine these things happen. And as a result of the deplaning I missed my original final flight home. Okay, cool. They put me on another one but didn't allow me enough time or give me a real boarding pass so I missed that one. Then I had to go get another flight that delayed me 4 hours. So I finally touchdown home, yay... NOT. CAUSE I DONT HAVE MY LUGGAGE. THESE INCOMPETENT WORKERS OF YOURS DIDNT THINK TO MAKE SURE MY LUGGAGE FOLLOWED ME. Now alllllllll my summer clothing, souvenirs, bras/undies, etc. LOST. Thanks for the worlds worst travel experience."

Cons: "Some crew members were quite rude and not accommodating. Simple requests for water were not met or were met with serious attitude. No food alternatives, which does not work for me as I have a particular allergy. There was no entertainment or wine available (I booked an international flight -- which in my experience always includes these things including special meals. We were treated as if we were flying domestically, which was not what we paid for). I won't be booking Hawaiian Airlines again."
Cons: "When I booked the flight, I was not able to select my seat despite paying a hefty sum (well over double the cost of normal). As I went to check in, I still was not able to select a seat. As I refreshed my mobile check-in, I finally was assigned a seat just prior to boarding. As I stood in-line to board, I noticed that my seat changed, which also meant a different boarding zone. I left the line to wait for the next queue to board. As I stood in line again to board, I was called to the podium by an agent. They informed me that my seat changed. At this point, I was one of the last to board. My final seat on the plane ended being in a seat that did not recline (which is terrible for a 5.5 hour flight), next to a woman that spilled over into my seat. And in front of a very tall gentleman with his feet staying next to me most of the ride. At the price I paid and the changes they were making, I would have preferred an upgrade. The cost for my ticket was well over what i would have been charged for first class on any other day."
Pros: "It could have been the airport (Honolulu) or HA, but either way it was sheer chaos transferring from the inbound Auckland flight to the flight to Portland. We had to sit on the plane until customs was "ready for another group" and then there were at least 5 check points! We even had to go through security again and give up our newly purchased water bottles. We had to pick up our luggage and transport it to another drop point and no one there had a clue how the luggage was being organized - no surprise then that we arrived in Portland with 4/6 pieces of luggage. We were told it would be delivered to us - 2 days later still waiting. NOT impressed!"

I booked a direct flight but because a restroom issue, flight stopped and 2-hour delay was added. any movie is the price a movie theater ticket $8! For an 11-hour flight, it could be free or at least few old movies should be available in the complimentary package."
Pros: "I don't have the privilege to fly all the time but this year I was blessed to fly twice. First with another airlines then with Hawaiian. I truly appreciated Hawaiian Airlines over the other airlines. Hawaiians customer service was excellent. Pleasant with lots of Aloha. They were available when we needed them Not only available but willing. The laboratory was nice and clean. The aircraft was comfortable. The food was good. I appreciate the complimentary drinks and snacks. My child enjoyed the variety of movie selections. Our whole experience was wonderful. Pros: "I like the crew coming back from Hawaii. They were very friendly and accommodating and had a sense of humor. This was on the 2:50 pm flight from Honolulu to LAX. I did like having a meal on the plane that was free and complimentary wine. Thanks!"
Cons: "I did not like the check-in process at the Honolulu airport. It was a hot mess. Lots of flights going out at 2:00 pm. and the lines were confusing! Very few were directing us. We saw big signs that said: step 1, step 2, and step 3 but no real designation for anyone to follow. TSA pre-check should be clearer. If you are going to another island or if you are going to the Mainland, be clearer which line to get in. Bigger signs please. This was a chaotic self check-in. Thank goodness I came to the airport 3 hours early. Much better organization at the LAX airport."

Pros: "I don't travel too often so when I took Hawaiian Airlines, I was pleasantly surprised that they serve a complimentary meal while on board. During my flight, they served chicken with white rice and mixed vegetables, a cookie for dessert and water. Oh, and a complimentary red or white wine to go with your dinner. Not too shabby! Great service by the flight attendants as well."
Cons: "Even though I don't travel often, I feel like I've been on enough planes to know that free TV and movies are essential. Hawaiian Airlines lacked that feature. A few episodes or "series" that they had were interesting but not enough to keep me fully engaged. You had to pay for individual movies ($7.99) and even though it isn't a terrible price for a movie, I still wasn't willing to pay. If movies couldn't be free, then why not the regular TV shows? I think folks would have been okay with TV shows if the options were plentiful."
I loved the hospitality of the crew, they were a great crew. What I didn’t like was how the airport I was going to be in for a layover closed down due to it raining in the area. I missed my connecting flight, and got put on a flight that departed 8 hours from the time I arrived to the airport. I also have no news on where my luggage is.

There is probably a more efficient way of doing this. Besides that, they need to do a better job communicating that seats are changing and not Reggy before boarding. Though I can understand it can get crazy because people will panic but it’s not great heading up to enter in not knowing if you are sitting in window when you picked it for a reason. Otherwise, everything went smoothly."

Cons: "The fact that I was charged $150 to check a small cosmetics bag is no loose change ! I would have carried it on but my hand is in a brace and I has to have extensive surgery. Then yoy get to the gate, and they repeatedly asked for volunteers to check their bags for free. I think this is a very unfair policy and try to explain it to the curbside attendant. I literally cannot carry more than five pounds in my left hand until I get bone replacement surgery. I'm also having knee surgery soon and this small additional weight would be caused me excruciating pain ! They didn't care and still charged me $150 for a bag thats no bigger than 12 inches and weighs less than ten pounds. Thats the way you treat your first class passengers? One other quick note: the sausage and egg sandwich? that was served for breakfast was absolutely horrible! Thumbs down !"

He took time to chat with us and answer our questions, which made me feel more comfortable about the long flight. The stewards/stewardesses were very nice and had us laughing on their welcome messages. The lay-flat seats in first class were the best. Very comfortable, and easy to fall asleep in, without disruption from other passengers who insist on keeping their reading lights on while everyone is trying to sleep."

Pros: "The trip started off poorly with a day delay and rebooking hotel and car at final destination. Not to mention our final destination is San Antonio not Phoenix. We were not rebooked for a flight from PHX to SAT. But after a few hours we were finally booked. We didn’t really appreciate the 7 hour layover at 0100 in the morning and nowhere to get a meal or even coffee. However, the flight had the same crew from the night prior and they were excellent. The flight was open so we were able to get more leg room, less waiting time for the bathroom, and pretty much one on one service from our flight attendants. With all the struggle in the beginning, this particular flight was actually the best flight I have been on."
Cons: "We were ok with the hotel and meal vouchers however, again, the only part of our itinerary looked at was the first flight, not the second into SAT. Had we not questioned the agent, we would have been stuck in PHX with no room, no car, and if we eventually would have gotten a flight, our reservations for car and hotel in SAT would have been cancelled and I would have been out $1700. I already lost money but it could have been worse. Basically, I am paying for a car and room that I am not currently in. Reimbursement for that would have been nice. Either way we will still travel using the travel service and this particular airline in the future."

We found out right away that there was a delay and chances of missing the connecting flight from Philadelphia to Orlando were great. We requested a different booking to insure travel to Orlando, which was denied. So the connecting flight was missed and after hours arrived in Orlando at midnight. Missed my ride and all car rentals were booked. All this caused a lot of anxiety and unnecessary stress. Very disappointing. And to add to it, the flight itself was horrible and there was no entertainment available for the entire flight."

We had arranged transport from Orlando to Tampa for that evening, and our rides had to cancel because instead of 7pm we were now arriving at 130am. Your airline's mistakes put everyone at an inconvenience and we weren't offered assistance to fix it. My husband went to ask for help in arranging new transport home, but he couldn't even get to the front of the line. The customer service was terrible. We really enjoyed our first leg of the flight home with American Airlines, but after the second leg and all of the problems we had... we will not fly with American Airlines in the future."
Cons: "Total incompetence. Navigational system broken, two hours on the tarmac, unboarded, then reboarded one at a time, then out to the tarmac and then back to the gate to do FAA paperwork before finally being over 4 hours late. And they don't really care. Very sad."
Pros: "Seemed to have more leg room than average. Generally fine. I got to my destination without incident, and that is the most important thing! But flying today is awful. Uncomfortable, unpleasant, stressful, etc., all so the airlines (and their CEOs) can make millions."
Cons: "Crew was "all business" -- not many smiles. They offered the usually .5 ounce of pretzels or two cookies. Passengers routinely asked "can I have both?" and the answer was routinely: no. Really? My $300+ ticket isn't worth pretzels AND two cookies? Seems silly. And, you know that have BOXES of these free snacks."
Cons: "It was a full flight, anyone in loading zones 7-9 were required to check their carry-on luggage. We were in loading zone 6, so not required and preferred not to due to our full day of air travel that would continue into a 3 hour car trip. My husband reached the gate, his ticket scanned, and let onto the plane. I walk up next, my ticket is scanned and then the personnel at the gate said in what I can only describe as the most disrespectful, inconsiderate, ill-tempered tone that he would need take my bag. He grabbed it out of my possession, shoved it into the luggage sizing rack and even though it did fit inside the lines, he said it was "too close" and would need to be checked. Not wanting to cause a scene and quite frankly speechless by this man's attitude, I did not object.. It was not until I was seated on the plane that I noticed more than a dozen items of luggage larger than mine and that the vast majority of people that had 3, 4, 5 carry on items when the maximum is 2: one personal item and one carry on luggage item. It was both the lack of respect and the lack of consistency that lead me to have an extremely "poor" boarding experience. Serious retraining needs to be completed and boarding attendants should not be able to harass airline passengers."
Cons: "LATAM took our luggage from a flight from a different airline that we used to get from Miami to Orlando. They locked it up and closed before we arrived. My friend was unable to get his medicine, I missed vital time from a work contract, and we had to spend the night at the airport waiting until 1pm today to receive our luggage. This is the worst experience I've had with an airline. No one spoken with on LATAM seemed to care. We were stranded without sleep and got no clear answer from the LATAM hotline. There was no mention of compensation for our troubles. I will not be recommending this airline to other travelers aa this has ruines my work schedule and my friend is unable to get his medicine."

Cons: "This airline always has delays! There is no in-flight entertainment (music, tv, movies, etc.); thus, the flight was terribly boring! Also, only peanuts and a small cup of soda was offered to us. Other airlines give cookies and biscotti! The seats don't recline and they need more legroom. The majority of the airline crew largely ignored us and showed mediocre customer service."

The leg of flight from Denver to Des Moines was very uncomfortable, seats much to tigh, no leg room. Gate staff in Denver were exceptional. United needs to revisit their time for loading. We preloaded, I had a broken leg, I was traveling with a special needs woman. We just reached our seats when other passengers were prodding us to sit so they could board no time to settle. Not impressed"

Cons: "The flight was delayed several times by 15 minutes. Not sure why they could not tell us how long the flight would be delayed all at once. They track the flight and know when it will land, don’t they?"
Pros: "They actually checked sizes of some “carryons.” Of course, it’s a cash cow for the carrier. The checkers should get 20% of the fee collected for checking oversized carryons at the gate."
Cons: "There are faster, more efficient ways to load and unload passengers."
Cons: "I had very little time to make my connection in Newark. Other airports/airlines have given me a short connection pass which has allowed passengers to make their connection with less stress. The security line inNewsrk was ridiculous. I spoke to a TSA agent who couldn’t have cared less if I missed my flight and a United representative who told me to “just try.” In the end, I had to ask other passengers if I could go ahead of them. While I made my flight with a few minutes to spare, the process could have been much easier and the United Rep could have done more. He could have just called the gate at the very least to let them know I was coming. Apathy is not an indication of good customer service."

Pros: "I had no problems the gate agent was very nice and I did get the basic economy which that only did I have to pay for my bags but I also got the last seat in the back in the corner which is OK I guess I’ll pay more attention to the fair I still probably saved a little money but I don’t know that I save that much I think that sometimes the boarding agent needs to pay attention to the carry-on luggage for sure bring a lot carry-on luggage which doesn’t allow for others to have carry-on luggage who were in the later groups and then they get penalized with their bags being checked as there’s no more room and they’re not basic economy but other than that I like taking United they have nonstop service between Orlando in Houston and it’s been a wonderful experience most of the time and I think the airlines do a pretty good job considering the traveling public themselves to be very challenging at times professionalism and courtesy works both ways and unfortunately people buy tickets and think that it’s a one-way street. they then run to the media who loves to make it about the big guy versus the little guy anyway good job united and I will continue to fly you when you’re the most appropriate carrier to get me to where I want to be."

Cons: "The United agent at the gate in Maui was terribly rude. She didn't even acknowledge that I was waiting in line to be helped for about 5 minutes. She went on the plane to check something for me and didn't return until 10 minutes later. When she came back to the counter, where I was still waiting, she started to talk to her coworker about chocolate and how great the crew was. She then turned to me and said, "can I help you?" She didn't even remember that she was in the middle of helping me! When I reminded her she was like "oh that's right" but didn't even apologize. The flight was delayed 2 hours which was pretty annoying too."

Airline claimed we bought the basic ticket which doesn't allow you a seat choice, or boarding passes without a checked bag and there was no mention of this basic ticket upon the purchase. Then after you take off they explain you need the United app to watch their entertainment, but you can't download it without purchasing a $24. WiFi. They charge higher prices but act like a discount airline. My last trip with them."

Cons: "They gave us free tv to watch but my headphones didn't work in the jack. Even the pair they gave me didn't work. Also my flight was almost an hour late."

Flying in the plane itself was awful, as it continuously shook even when weather was alright. The pilot seemed rude. No warnings from the pilot when we were going through bad weather - just a surprise "HANG ON" as the plane would shake in a frenzy. The chairs were also incredibly uncomfortable and very hard to relax on. I couldnt even sleep well, and it was an overnight trip. Seriously felt so disrespected by the crew and the company, and this experience was the same with all 4 flights I took (to portland and back). I will never again choose United."

Pros: "The seats were uncomfortable. The staff was cold. The food was horrible, I wasn't even able to eat some of it. The chicken was full of bones and grissle. The rest just tasted bad. Most of their planes did not have screens in the back of the seats. Instead they wanted you to watch on your personal device via their app which worked sub par. The baggage on the return flight was delayed and I almost missed my next flight even though I had a 2 hour 40 min layover. Thankfully that flight was delayed 1 hour and a half. Next time I will stick with airlines I know better. Delta, Emirates, and Qatar all offer superior service and upscale aircraft. The 2k spent was not worth what I received."

Cons: "-Free Soda but charged for water -Had confirmed seats but then our party with 2 toddlers got split up -Semi convenient( rather small could hardly fit a 1 year old) changing table but then flight attendants threw a fit when a stinky diaper was changed in there. -Had to have special programs on device to even play anything, thought I had everything on for return flight to watch movies but nope still needed something extra Wifi only works for United App and Website -Waiting in the shorter line to preboard with our 2 toddlers only to be cut off by a Global Travel Program(?) family with 15+ people"
Pros: "An eighty-five mile an hour tailwind got us from Los Angeles to Denver twenty-five minutes early. At LAX, our departure gate was only three gates from the arrival gate of our connecting flight, so no long trek through LAX. Seats on our 737-900 were tight and didn't recline far but, hey, United is the Wal-Mart of modern air travel. What do you expect?!"

Cons: "Flight was delayed 3 1/2 hours... Took forever to get on plane once on plane people were in wrong seats so I had to keep getting up so they could figure out who was in the wrong seat. Just a mess. Even crew seemed annoyed. Finally got to Orlando at 3am suppose to be there at midnight."
Pros: "i like that the pilot got us there on time, after a 30 minute delay. over a missing catering truck. on a flight this short, i could understand if you could just leaving without it. maybe offer free wifi as a comsolation. but i just wanna arrive on time."
Cons: "the whole delay over a catering truck. who cares if i cant get a coke or a cookie? just skip it. i get that you as a company, want the chance to upsell. but if its cutting into my time, im not gonna patronize you in the future. luckily the pilot made up the time in the air. but if i missed my shuttle over your mistake, id be more upset."

Cons: "We were frustrated because we chose United flights but then got put on Island air from Maui to Honolulu who has completely different baggage guidelines and ended up costing us quite a bit more because our carry-ones weren't 16 lbs or below. I don't like things like that, so I wasn't very happy with that part of the trip. I don't think that is United's fault-probably Kayak's. Flying in general just isn't pleasant anymore. The crews aren't happy or fun and they've gotten so cheap on everything, and charge you out the nose for everything. The airplanes weren't clean. My 2 year old had to brush off a seat of crumbs on her seat before she sat down! Just sad where it's gotten in this crazy world. We used to love to fly, and now we are just always glad to be done with the flights!"

But they could have given more frequent updates and at least told us what gate we were at so we could have a better idea when trying to frantically make our connections. Also the entertainment was pricey for a 5 hour flight that I paid good money for. I thinK basic movies should just be included in the fees"
