Had small delay to replace a airplane tire but overall it. Went well.
Crew attitude was poor. Crew announced 3 meal options and by the time they got to our row, they just handed us pork without asking because there was nothing left. Food quality was also quite poor. Drink service was simply “any drinks?” And did not list any options. My leg was slightly in the aisle while I was asleep and crew hit it hard with the cart. One crew member was audibly complaining when we landed because we did not have a jetway. Avoid American Airlines in USA to Japan routes. Fly ANA or JAL, and you won’t face the humiliation you would on American Airlines.
Flight attendants were kind. Until the plane arrived and had a slow taxi. I was on the tail end of the plane and informed the attendants I had a connecting flight. They didn't do anything to help me get off in a more timely manner. Nor did they contact my connecting flight to let them know I was on my way. By the time it was our rows turn my connecting flight across the terminal D gate to C gate was already boarding. I had to run the whole way through the terminal and hope I caught a train inntime. They were calling my name last call by the time arrived at the gate. Then my connecting flight ticket would not work and a new ticket had to be issued requiring presenting my ID again
Part of the first class package is luggage. We checked our luggage in easily but our luggage should be one of the first bags off when we land. On both flights this was not the case. The lounge in Kauai is awful. Food and drinks were excellent on the flight. Service was attentive. On the flight over we arrived 45 minutes early. Like last time the same thing happened in a previous flight. The problem both times was waiting in the plane for 30 minutes so that a spot to unload could open.
Flew first class. No headrest screens on either flight and the one flight had no foot rests either.
Good flight overall. Lots of bumps during flight but pilot kept searching for smooth air
We tried for days to use online Alaska Airline app we needed to know what Gate to depart from . When we got there we were given a paper boarding ticket with the wrong gate on it . We almost missed this flight . It caused great stress and caused a health side effect. The previous flights April 24 started hour late mechanical issues . We were not allowed to depart plane in time to get correct gate and missed our flight .
First meal was decent, but the second ham sandwhich meal was really disappointing. I understand there's a budget constraint, but a ham sandwhich just doesn't cut it to be honest. Also one of the attendents seemed angry at me for something, not sure what I did.
Wonderful respectful staff for a short flight late at night...lots of considerations all met!
I would like you let you know that my booking never confirmed, yet I was charged for the insurance fee and cannot get it back even though I have an email stating g that the booking didn’t confirm. I have been getting the run around.
