Rude attendants that would disregard questions regarding the delays and then offered $12 voucher for lunch as if they were doing us a favor. Our flight was delayed from 4pm until originally 7pm.. Then when 7pm came and went we had to continually ask at the counter, because no information was provided.. Kept being told just a few minutes until boarding and then when it was almost time to board, we couldn't because the flying crew was delayed going through security. SERIOUSLY.. wouldn't you think that after all the delays, the crew would have already been ready to board as soon as possible. For most of the passengers our delayed caused us to be at the airport for at least 8 hrs. Since they ask to check in at least 3 hrs. prior to departing... You tell me if $12 voucher is enough to hold off for 8 hrs. When a soft drink and a sandwich was at least $15.. and that was for the cheap ones. This was my first time flying Avianca and will be my last. At least AMERICAN AIRLINES gives flight vouchers even if they are only 2 hrs delayed. A $12 voucher is a JOKE.. and there were 3 of us in my family. And they acted as if they were giving you a free flight."

Cons: "The landing was horrifying. After being on many commercial flights over the years I have never felt this way about a flight experience. The pilot seemed very inexperienced nor skilled at landing. The plane first took a plunge leaving everyone grabbing their seats in fear. The plane was going way too fast as we then continued descending while the plane tilted to the side and then the nose of the plane tipped downwards. To best describe the situation, the plane was completely out of control. Everyone around me was frightened and talking about the awful experience. Flight attendants nor the pilot made any mention of what happened nor did they make an announcement to make passengers aware that there may be some difficulty landing. Therefore passengers were left to wonder what really happened but it seemed as if this was the first time the pilot had flown a plane. After the landing I was sick for the rest of the day with nausea. I would like a refund and will report this matter to the FAA for answers and I believe they should investigate what happened on this flight for safety matters. I did not feel safe at all, and I have never had an experience like this. I'm afraid to ever fly AVIANCA again."

When the bag arrived in Barranquilla it was wrapped in a plastic bag. Upon opening it the bag was open and my belongings tossed around. The lock was gone, one zipper was missing and the other zipper was damaged. Couldn't close the bag. Made a complaint in Barranquilla at the Avianca desk. They gave me another bag. Made another complaint over the internet at Avianca.com. Let see if they reimburse me."

Both round trip flights! This is totally NOT acceptable. She could have been lost and with no ability to help herself and miss the flights. It was lucky that she found Chinese speaking customers to help her."

Everything was on time, and the crew was friendly and attentive. We had exit row seats so the leg room for this 90 minute flight was great compared to our first part (London-Atlanta)"

Ground assistance (wheel chair) left me with a badly bruised left big toe and I didn't think we'd ever get through the TSA. The pat-down I received was more like a sexual assault and I didn't even get a happy ending. We made it to RDU, so the exercise was a success, but it was a huge hassle."

Pros: "I liked how accommodating the staff was with seating for my family, as I was traveling with two young children and we weren't seated together. There was more leg room than most other domestic air travel companies I have been on. There was no upgrade charge for every little thing, such as blankets, pillows, etc. We were fed on each flight, and alcoholic beverages were at no additional charge. The exit tax to leave Costa Rica was included in our ticket, which I was not aware of until I was leaving the country. (nice surprise). Over all, most other airline companies in the USA have made changes that improve their bottom line, but they have completely ruined any favorable aspect of traveling with their airline (American Airlines, Frontier, Southwest, Delta, etc). Copa has done a great job of providing great service and cost for travelers. Please do not change your business strategy by removing some of the above mentioned benefits I enjoyed in order to improve your profit margin. It is refreshing to know there are still air carriers out there that retain the service that is hoped for by most travelers. Also, Roxana and her entire flight crew were outstanding. Thank you , I will fly with you anytime I have the chance."

Cons: "Our flight from Panama City to Cancun was oversold and they did not let us on the flight. Another flight an hour later was also oversold, so we did not get on that one either. When we first checked in at the ticket counter they had given us standby tickets, but they did not inform us of this. We had purchased tickets 2 months in advance of our flight, so this should not have happened. They tried to get us to stay in Panama City for the night but we refused as we were traveling to a wedding and had already paid for the night at an all inclusive resort. After much arguing and waiting around, they finally put us on a different airline where we had to take an additional 3 hour flight to get to our final destination. We ended up losing most of a day of our very short vacation. Ridiculous. What is the point of buying tickets ahead and making plans when you don't even know if you will be allowed on your flight? A very frustrating and disappointing experience."

If they aren't going to be there, please let us know when we book our tickets so we can plan accordingly. The flight attendant for my section of the plane was cold and a bit rude. I looked and YES there was at least 5 other seats in rows much closer than mine! Also upon arrival we did not get off the plane for 15 minutes . My connection was boarding already. I had to go from gate E 6 to gate B14 in a flash at the age of 66 I barely made it out of breath and they were about to close the doors! I was not a happy camper when I was told in the flight 5406 that I had plenty of time!!! not to worry!!!"

Cons: "Got a notification of a TWO HOUR DELAY departing SFO. Rebooked into Charlotte instead of Dallas to connect to Fort Myers. THAT flight got delayed AFTER the doors were closed by another 45 minutes which caused me to miss my connection to Fort Myers AND have American Airlines leave my bag in Charlotte. I rebooked into West Palm Beach to drive to Fort Myers and my bag stayed in Charlotte even though there was ANOTHER 45 minute delay to change a tire on the plane. If I practiced medicine the way the airline handled customers, I'd kill every third patient!"

Cons: "It really wasn't "On-Time", but you couldn't tell that from the monitors. (I'm sure you like to keep your statistics "clean", but they shouldn't be dishonest.) A TSA? agent had us initially wait in a long incorrect line after we picked up our passport scanner sheets even though we told her we had a tight connection. Afterwards, she moved us along with a few others. That line could have swamped us!"

Then they finally tell us that the reason the fligt hasnt boarded was because the flight attendant misplaced her luggage in the previous flight and was waiting to arrive to the terminal. Now how is that my issue? American Airlines needs to do better!"

Cons: "The flight was actual operated by American Airlines, so don't blame Finair. I had to call Finair for a question and they were polite and helpful. The crew on the plane on the flight from Charlotte to Rome were just mean, curt, and generally unhelpful. They did not collect trash or dinner trays for well over an hour after everyone had finished. The Italian gentleman next to us was so disgusted he got up and found the trashcan himself and refused to talk to the flight crew the rest of the trip.It didn't matter because they disappeared after dinner and no one saw them again for 5 or 6 hours. On the flight back from Rome the crew was nice but slack. They skipped all the back rows twice row 34 onwards) when they got distracted during a refreshment service. They also repeatedly told passengers they were out of a specific item on the cart but "you can go to the back and see for yourself if we have any".Customs is out of control. They refused to allow anyone off the plane for over an hour because they had another flight come in "from the islands". Then they yelled at us about calling relatives to let them know what the holdup was. It took 1 and 1/2 hours to get through customs because they made us use the new kiosks then go see a real person and answer questions there too."

When I finally got home, my bag wasn't even on the flight with me."

Pros: "I was returning from an international flight, and had carried my smallish rollerboard +1 personal bag all through (including outbound) with no problems. Just on the last leg, IAD to RDU, the gate agent forced me to check the bag, even though the flight was not full, and the bag could easily fit in the overhead bin. I was in Group 3."

I stand in the gate line for Premier access and the gate crew lady asked me to go and pay for a carry on bag in a very loud voice and asked me to get out of premier access line. When I asked her to take a look at my premier access status, she said stop yelling. Then another man in a suit walks in and first word out of his mouth is not an apology, but a threatening "Don't yell". I just kept walking away from this unqualified person lest it goes out of control. United needs to do a lot better. Just because these gate crew people feel stressed out, they should not take on innocent travelers. Instead of putting a customer under a defensive position, they need to learn to respect the customer. United is training their crew in a wrong way.."

Cons: "A gal that sat with me on the first flight had seat 15a on the flight to Raleigh, she gets very sick and needed the window seat....BUT. you folks are so screwed up at ticketing that you NEVER book families together. I've flow with you folks 20 years and its always been a hassle. She was asked to move to the back of the plane (seat 32) a middle seat...where she was sick the whole ride so you could do the "shuffle" of passengers....it's poor business practice. When I have a choice I fly SW now."

I'm pretty small so it doesn't affect me as much but I could tell some of the other travelers were uncomfortable. United has got to step up their snack game too. I got like a zesty ranch snack and I was happy I brought my own snacks."
