Pros: "We have been traveling to Hawaii and especially Kauai for years. We love the fact that we don't have to fly into Honolulu and transfer to the Inter-Island Terminal with Alaska. This saves a lot of time and there is a lot less hassle. We upgraded to Preferred Seats which are in the Exit Rows and with the extra leg room, it is really nice especially if you have someone in the window seat. We don't eat anything on the plane because we usually head to our favorite restaurant once we land."

The entire row of seats didn't recline at all. She was very apologetic and acknowledged it was uncomfortable especially on a 5+hour flight. She did offer us something to eat, blankets earbud. When I got to NYC, I was able to quickly pick up my bags and get through customs, and over to the next terminal (5) where Jet Blue is located. However, the check in terminals were NOT working and I had to stand in a huge line to recheck my bag and get my boarding pass. I would definitely missed my flight, but I managed (by calling out) to one of the Jet Blue ticket agents at the counter...she actually came to me, I told her my situations, and she let me come to the front of the line. I got my boarding pass, RAN to the gate, and just made my flight in the nick of time. Stressful! But, I was so glad for that kind Jet Blue woman who helped me out. I had been traveling nearly 24 hours and couldn't bear the thought of sitting in JFK for at least another 8 hours before the next available flight."

Also, our luggage didn't make it on the flight. Said it was stuck in customs since it did not have enough time. Understandable, but why didn't someone from JetBlue come out and get us instead of making us wait at the luggage terminal for 30 minutes before we went and checked. Also, they told me on the phone that my luggage would arrive at 7 and it came at 4 - luckily I was home. What would have happened if I was not?"

In these days of budget cuts, Hawaiian serves you too much food and even offers a complementary glass of wine. The only unfortunate thing is that you have to pay for all types of on board entertainment. All in all it’s a really great flight in economy."

On this flight, other passengers (one family) with disgusting manners, smelly carry on food and generally poor attitudes, made it a captive experience. The crew were the bright spot. An airline can't help that much but, can mitigate the damage and the employees did that. You have very good people."

Cons: "There were a couple poorly made Hawaiian airlines videos bit to watch ANYTHING else there was a fee. Even to watch movies f pm the 1960s. Baggage feet increase for each bag. Check on crew was extremely rude and got mad that I tapped them with luggage when they were totally in the way. Will not fly Hawaiian again. Also, the seats were way to close together and it hurt when the person in front leaned back."

Hawaiian didn't offer any chance of changing airlines to accommodate anybody and only gave us a $100 voucher on future flights... like I'd ever fly with this airline again. If the delay was due to weather or a mechanical issue I would've understood, however one of there crew members calling in sick delays my vacation by a whole day and they say there's nothing they can do. Completely ridiculous."

Once I was on the plane, I started kicking myself in the you know what because I knew immediately I was scammed. I had purchased a 1st Class ticket for $400+, only to find that my comfort would be the equivalent of that if I purchased a ticket in economy. My long legs would still be cramped. For the past few years, I have been purchasing 1st class for it's spaciousness. On this flight, on the RCJ700, I did not fly comfortably. The space was very tight, and I was able to stretch my legs as if I sat in economy. This was by far, my most uncomfortable flight ever. SMH; A WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!"

The seat was ok, but I found the pillows to be very small and flat. I needed multiple pillows. The head rest was not adjustable, so I also found this to be uncomfortable. Usually when I fly AA, the headrest is adjustable. My final dislike was that the beverage selection was limited. I'm quite sure there was plenty of alcohol, but what about those customers who do not drink alcoholic beverages? I asked for hot chocolate, there was none. I asked for hot tea with honey, there wasn't any. So all in all my flight was okay, but that is solely because of the flight attendant and pilot. They did their jobs and they did an excellent job."

The food was good. The crew was just okay. They weren't particularly nice but rather abrupt. There were two mates that seems a bit confused. However, the plane was worth it."
Pros: "The pilot came through all of the aisles in first class to personally thank us for flying with them. He took time to chat with us and answer our questions, which made me feel more comfortable about the long flight. The stewards/stewardesses were very nice and had us laughing on their welcome messages. The lay-flat seats in first class were the best. Very comfortable, and easy to fall asleep in, without disruption from other passengers who insist on keeping their reading lights on while everyone is trying to sleep."

There was a delay because the flight crew came from another arriving flight, so they had to go through the full pre-flight checklist. Then there was a "minor maintenance issue" that couldn't be fixed right away because it was "shift change" for the maintenance crews. Eventually they arrived and fixed whatever, while everyone was getting texts and alerts that kept delaying the departure by 15-minute intervals. Over an hour (while sitting in a warm plane) after the original scheduled departure, we left the gate, sat on the taxiway a while, then took off. Cabin crew only had cookies and drinks, no other snacks or food. All anyone got was an apology for the extended delay."

The airport looks like it is being renovated, which is fine, but there is no tape/cones to mark off the renovated areas from the walkways. You literally walk through dirt and construction sites. I didn't even think that was legal in the US?! Anyway, maybe it will be worth it once the renovations are complete, especially if AA is going to use it as a hub."
