I only had 50min layover. I tried to get wiki shuttle from gate 6 to 26 but I waited for ever so ended up running to gate 26, boy I almost died. I was the last one to board. Of course I couldn't change my seat to aisle because everyone boarded already. Food was horrible, it was cabbage and chicken. Drinks(juice) were small, like shots. I always request aisle for various reasons, I like to get up and walk around because this is my 4th leg of my trip. To top my horrible experience with, my bags didn't make it from my SFO flight to Sydney flight. I wasted time waiting and looking around for my bags and standing in line for missing/lost bags. I arrived here on Sunday and it's now Wednesday morning and I still haven't received my bags yet. Hawaiian better pay me money for the inconvenience or air b points. To be honest this will be my last time flying with Hawaiian, I thought it was just rumors that they are ones of the worst. Hawaiian makes Jetstar looks like a 5 star airline. I'm a frequent flyer and I have flown just about every airlines out there.
Called airline to add bag, was told I couldn't, arrived at airport, and was informed would have to pay a 400.00 check bag charge. Which so happened to be the cost of the same flight the day after. I cried, pleaded, and begged for some reasonable solution, but was basically told tough luck. Because the ticket was none refundable I basically was forced into paying the unlawful charge. Either way I would have been out 400.00 dollars, otherwise I would have just cancelled and flew out the next day. So I paid the fee, and went to my gate, that finally opened 20mins later, funny considering that I had no time to make a change. I don't have anything good too to say about this airline and I imagine there business will suffer from their ethics.
Really liked how quick and easy the check in and boarding process was. Staff was nice especially knowing it's a low cost airline. And they had to keep telling people "you have to pay for that" they kept their cool even when passengers were being ingnorang. Great job!
Even though it's a low cost airlines you still gotta clean the plane! Bathrooms were extremely dirty and out of paper. All of them. Also trash in the seat back pockets and on my seat there was gum stuck everywhere on the seatbelt.
Two bags which were free carry-ons with American Airlines were not allowed to be carried on with Jetstar. Inconvenient, but fine. However, the charge to check two bags was $800! That's twice the cost of the tickets on the flight. Price-gouging is an understatement.
Jetstar is, without a doubt, the worst airline I have ever flown.
