Flight crew was attentive and friendly.
the window seat was nice.
We usually fly Delta, so we were surprised to find our airplane did not have built in screens in the seats. Great crews.
Never happened delayed at the last minute.
Pros: "open Seat between us"
Cons: "Never enough fruit & cheese boxes 4th time this year☹️ Also had a huge walk in Houston to go through TSA precheck for gate 24 & could not get my husband a wheelchair at all!"
Pros: "GoGo Entertainment"
Cons: "It was really cold on the flight from Houston to Seattle."
Pros: "Crew was pleasant and very polite. I like that one carry on was included in my ticket. Enough leg room. Love the free in flight movies! Glad I didn’t have to purchase a beverage either."
Cons: "I will never understand the way boarding works. Did going from window groups, middle seat groups to aisle seat groups not work? I hate having to squeeze through and hope I don’t knock anyone in the face with my bag. I don’t like I can’t pick my seat and that my seatbelt is a little too tight. If I get a seat in the back I’m waiting for everyone else to get on and then for them to get off the plane. I guess I’ll have to pay the $75 fee for “first class” next time since that’s the only way to update my seat. And if I have a “saver rate” ticket - I should be able to still change my flight within 24 hours. I wanted to come back a day earlier and it was the same price! But I would’ve had to cancel and repurchase for an additional $200!!!"
Pros: "We left on-time, without delays."
Cons: "There was a loud child behind me, but that has nothing to do with the airline, unless they enforced a silent cabin more."
Pros: "Very nice and clean. I really like the leg room."
Cons: "The TSA process and I wish they had food snacks."
Pros: "Food in first class was good. The attendants were very good"
Cons: "No pre-flight beverage like in first class on every other carrier. No pillow or blanket. Entertainment movie choices were mostly older movies and stale. Very very few new movies."
Pros: "I was happy it was a nonstop flight on a somewhat new and very clean plane. Plenty of leg room, though the seat almost felt narrow and the person next to me was on me the entire trip. Seat comfort was good, I prefer firmer padding on a longer trip. Attendants were attentive and quick about helping passengers but felt like they didn’t want to be there. Boarding was also fast, though slightly confusing."
Cons: "I didn’t like that after I booked my ticket Alaska moved the time to much earlier in the day and I had to take off work. There’s no built in screen; tablets are available to rent, but for the price tickets are I shouldn’t have to rent something or use up my battery. Plus having to either hold my phone/tablet the whole flight or use what little space I have on my tray to prop it up isn’t enjoyable. Also the snacks were lacking, one bag of cheese crackers was my only option for a flight over 5 hours."
Pros: "Friendly crew and the plane arrived at destination on time"
Cons: "Since I slept most of the time for this flight, I could not comment on the service during flight"
Pros: "Clean airplane, great customer service, cheap tickets, carryon is free, airplane has plenty of carryon space, provide free inflight drink service and inflight movies. Never Fly Spirit Airlines"
Pros: "Everything was great! This was my first time flying Alaska Air and I could not have had a better trip! Everything ran according to schedule, I was comfortable during the flight, slept the entire time, staff was great!"
Cons: "Since this was a connection, announcing the different gates for which connections would be at which gates at the SEA airport."
Cons: "Mobile app didn’t show boarding pass had to get assistance"
Pros: "The flight crew was incredibly sweet and helpful; one of them even gave me their personal TUMS when I said I didn't feel well."
Cons: "The flight boarded 30 minutes early; I arrived to my gate at the time of when my ticket said boarding started, but they were already calling final boarding call for my flight. I completely panicked. The plane was clean but the seats are very close together and there were no complimentary snacks- even though it was a 6 hour flight. On my flight back from Seattle on Delta, we got a complimentary meal AND a complimentary snack. I was expecting my Alaskan flight to be better based on everything I'd heard from friends, but my return Delta flight showed Alaska up; it was a spacier plane with way more food offered."
Pros: "I always enjoy flying with Alaska. The crews are generally nice and the leather seats are comfortable, even in cattle class. I like that they often give out the Biscoff biscuits, yum. I had lots of room on several of my flights, on one of them I had an entire row to myself, which was awesome."
Cons: "The fact that even on 5+ hour-long flights they still charge for the food is a little silly to me. But maybe that's how they all do these days. Still, it's unfortunate, or, it might have been nice to have more than one snack served up on such a long flight. The wifi is a little hard to maneuver, even with an instruction card. The Go-go inflight thing is cool, but they don't really advertise that you need to download the app while you're still on the ground...which they should advertise in their concourses or something."
Pros: "Comfortable seating but I paid for it"
Cons: "Flight attendants seemed bogged down. The one from first class came into premium seating to help some people"
Pros: "Arrived at destination ahead of schedule. :)"
Cons: "Kids hitting the back of our seat until several of us asked them to stop...their mom did nothing to stop their behavior. :("
Pros: "Everything, attention, service and commodity"
Pros: "The flight attendants were so nice and it was awesome that each seat had chargers! Best flight I've had in a while."
Pros: "on time"
Cons: "I have never been on a flight where I was bumped in the leg or arm repeatedly. Passengers were constantly up and down the aisle along with the carts hawking their wares. I trussed myself up like a turkey with the seatbelt so I wasn't on the armrest so as not to get hit again. My grandson who is a lot smaller than I, tried to put his head down to sleep on the tray table. He looked so uncomfortable. I know the deal is butts in the seats, but even the seat bottom is horribly uncomfortable. These planes have become cattle buses. I put up with it because there is no choice and I can't afford first class."
Pros: "I guess if your computer system tracked a little better You would have known that our flight was canceled to Houston Texas due to a little bit of water being on the ground"
Cons: "I didn't like the fact I couldn't go on my trip and your computer is asking me how my trip was"
Cons: "I had booked my flight to take off at 2:30 PM, but when I checked into London Gatwick, my boarding pass given was 7:30 PM. Of course there's no Alaska desk so I couldn't ask anyone there. When I got to Vancouver, they said they weren't sure why I was bumped, but there were seats left on the plane. However, I had to go to the gate to change my flight because I had a checked bag. Got to the gate, and of course, it was sold out. And they told me they weren't sure if the 7:30 PM flight would be taking off. So I grabbed my bags, made my way via train/bus/hitchhiking across the American border where my dad picked me up. Never got a single reason why I was bumped in the first place."
Cons: "Not enough leg room"
Cons: "The TSA agents in Houston were extrememly rude. When I asked if body scanners were safe for pregnant women, I was told to read the sign and my bags were immediately pulled for hands on screening."
Pros: "Crew professionalism made me wish I could always fly on Alaska airlines."
Cons: "Flight delayed."
Cons: "Stood in line for more than a half an hour to check my luggage because they kept letting premium blahblahblah customers skip the line."
Pros: "Plug ins for cell phones!!"
Cons: "The flight was 4 hours late. I wasted an entire day sitting in the airport. You knew that the flight was late hours in advance and should have texted or emailed me to say as much. Instead, i checked in on time, and within 10 minutes we went from 'On Time' to four hours late due to equipment and crew. Very inconsiderate and unappreciated to your customer. The flight should have been free after such an inconsiderate gesture on your part. Instead, you send me a gift certificate that obligates me to spend more money with you in order to redeem it, and then within a certain period of time. If I have choice in the future, I'll lean toward a different airline than yours. You clearly do not value my time nor my business."
Pros: "Nothing. I didn't take flight due to punishing re book procedure that Alaska employs to basically steal money from it's customers."
Cons: "They weight the value of 1st leg much higher than the return AND they want to charge you $125 change fee. My grandma passed away and I needed to reschedule my itinerary. Alaska stuck to their policies (you know, those pages of microscopic text that is written by lawyers for sole reason of screwing the customer.) I just felt really abused; told them to keep the useless "credit". I booked with Delta. At what point does a company forget who they are supposed to be serving? Perhaps the people that are actually giving you money and keeping you in business?"
Pros: "Crew on flight was good. We left late but made up the time in flight."
Cons: "We purchased 2 one way tickets and were given confirmation of purchase. When we arrived at airport to check in we were told we were on standby only. If we could not get on the flight then the soonest we could fly out was 48+ hrs away, arriving in Seattle at 2 AM on Monday morning. we had no one available to pick us up, we live 1 hr away from airport. After many announcements and many incentives offered 2 young ladies did give up their seats and we could get on. The flight went well but we were extremely upset with the promise of confirmation and the obvious overbooking. It probably is what many airlines do but not good customer service was given to us. We often fly Alaska but this was a bad experience."
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Cons: "Nothing comes to mind."
Cons: "All legs of my trip from San Jose to Seattle to Philadelphia and back were all delayed; so much so that on the trip to Philadelphia, I had to be rebooked on Delta; and on the trip back to Seattle, I almost missed my flight due to a 50 minute delay on the runway waiting. I found out that "officially", the plane was "on time" because the plane closed the doors on time. Also, same thing from Seattle to San Jose, we were delayed 30 minutes due to a tire that needed replacement. Again, "officially" we were on time, because the doors had closed and we were just sitting inside the plane."
Pros: "I've always liked Alaska, but they really blew this one!"
Cons: "Mechanical delay started as a "few minutes back to the gate", then 1 1/2 hrs sitting on plane at the gate without updates, then "get off the plane while we turn off the air", another 2 hrs without definitive info, then "we're bringing in another plan in a couple of hours", then after 5 hours of waiting, an announcement that flight is cancelled. Finally they announced a replacement flight setup for 8am, but at 4am, Alaska sent texts that the replacement flight was delayed till 1:30 pm. We finally left Palm Springs for Seattle at 2:40, 26 hours late. But the worst part of the experience was the terrible communication. A few e-mails or texts or PA announcements as the time passed would have saved about 90 passengers the frustration of waiting hours at the gate area and ticketing desk for info about options. Alaska should have been more respectful of its customers. Minimal effort was made to answer our questions."
Pros: "First off Bonnie at the boarding gate was phenomenal , She has an amazing disposition ( especially at 5:00 in the morning ) she greeted each and every customer by name and with a smile ! Our flight was delayed for 2 hours as we sat at the gate while problems were fixed . The Captain made sure he kept us informed as each problem occurred and was fixed . The rest of the flight crew remained patient and attentive , which of course kept all the customers onboard calm and patient as well . My daughter just moved to Seattle and if this is the norm for this airline I will continue to use them for my future visits ! Elizabeth"
Cons: "I lost my connection due to migration. An I had to pay for one hotel night and another flight to Seattle"
Cons: "Everything was broken. The scanner was broken and our boarding was delayed. The the ramp to get off the plane was broken so we had to sit for an hour while they tinkered with it. We got off our flight over an hour late because of alaska's malfunctions. Also the lady who checked us in was not very polite."
Cons: "There was a 20 minute flight delay before we boarded. They announced there were mechanical difficulties, which took further time. After we left the gate, we were told that our pilots had timed out and we would need to return to the gate to get a new crew. We taxied for a long time back to the gate, then there were further delays while they added the gas they had used in taxiing. In the end, we arrived more than 2 hours late. It is hard to understand why they didn't anticipate this and replace our pilots before we left the gate. This was the return part of a round trip ticket; there was also a more than 2 hour delay on our earlier flight due to mechanical difficulties."
Cons: "They kept canceling flights even though other flights were going out of Seattle and landing in Bozeman. But the gate agents were promising that the next flight wasn't gong to be cancelled and that I was going to have a seat, so I didn't book another flight from Seattle to Bozeman on a different carrier. So I spend 3 full days waiting at the boarding gate with the gate agent saying boarding would begin in 30 minutes the whole time. Finally they just sent me back home to Oakland. I missed my last chance to see my grandfather alive. He just passed away. To add insult to injury, they they wouldn't refund the ticket because I "used" the ticket for a lovely vacation to the Seattle airport for 3 days."
Cons: "The check in process was cumbersome with being able to partially get checked in at a computer kiosk and then having to wait in line to see an agent while other people are jumping the queue and not having to wait... then having stood in line for 10 minutes an agent tells you that you could have been in the "fast" lane... but there is no or little signage indicating which line you should be in.... that's frustrating. Don't expect your customers to be unconsciously aware of all of your convoluted business practices... put some signs out... we at least like a hint. Other than that, for air travel it was a very good experience."
Cons: "My initial flight was at 0800; I got to the gate before 0800 and was told I couldn't board the flight even though it was still at the gate and was still before the flight time. I had to pay to rebook my flight, spent over $200 in rides to and from airport, had additional parking fees and was several hours late to work. I have many family members who work in flight service so I understand that employees don't like to re-do paperwork; however, being there before the flight time and being denied cost a lot of work time and money. I have always had great experiences with Alaska so this one was quite a disappointment compared to their usual great service. :("
Cons: "Something unexpected came up and I was unable to fly out on the date the ticket was purchased for. I contacted the airline several weeks to see what options I had to switch flights, or get a voucher for a later date. No flexibility. I purchased a one way ticket for $125.60 and they have a cancel/transfer fee of $125. So I had a wasted ticket that just flew empty. I asked if I could transfer the ticket to someone else... They said $125. They told me if I had purchased the travelers insurance it still would be the same fees as well. Not earning my business."
Pros: "Meal and friendly services"
Pros: "Good leg room, friendly service, comfortable seats, good under seat space for carry ons. Bonus - the flight wasn't full so we could spread out. Overall, I was impressed - more comfortable than American or United planes by far!"
Pros: "Pleasant flight with minimal issues. Food was OK."
Cons: "Entertainment options existed, for more money. Everyone is charging for baggage now days as if all their customers are just taking an overnight trip to Vegas! It's terribly difficult to pack your family for a 7 day cruise and not get charged for "extra" baggage or overweight baggage. We used to be able to fly regularly with no additional costs, with 1 checked and 1 carry on bag per person! Maybe offering some slightly different pricing options when a trip is more than 4 days long would be of benefit to folks."
Pros: "I'm not normally an avid traveller, but in this last week, I've had the opportunity to fly on four different airlines. By far, the best airline ive flown upon was alaska. customer service was so friendly from start to finish, the employee who checked in our luggage (who was incredibly professional with an very frustrated guest behind me in line, while managing to not alienate my wife and i), ro the flight attendants who were prompt, responsive, and efficient in hydrating the passengers. My wife is uncomfortable with flying, and their demeanor with every aspect of their work made her feel safer and, at least, a little bit more relaxed. Thank you."
Cons: "Nothing, every point of my intreactions with Alaska Airlines were excellent or better."
Pros: "Seats were comfy. Flight departed on time and arrived early. The hot meal-coconut curry chicken with Jasmine rice was so good that my kids wanted a taste and proceed to eat it all up. A real win in my book."
Cons: "Crew was abrasive and put off by people asking for service. Monitors had to be rebooted 3 times. Ran out of water and snacks."
Pros: "Super comfortable and inflight entertainment was amazing"
Cons: "A/C was not working well, cabin was too warm and stuffy. Long delay on take off. Can not hear and understand pilot through PA system."
Cons: "Middle seat, last row. In a full flight, and the passenger in fronf reclines, its difficult to watch monitor, eat, or move"
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Flight attendants not friendly"
Cons: "Cheerless stewards could perk up."
Pros: "Everything! I appreciate that the ticketing agent helped me get an earlier flight and I appreciated the gate agent making sure I had a good seat! I love Delta!"
Cons: "Nothing honestly"
Cons: "Flight was delayed a bit due to a couple passenger booking/misc issues. 1st class didn’t get gate bevfood service. Oven was busted so my meal wasn’t available. Entertainment console had all channels functional except — not really an issue I just really wanted to have ESPN playing in the background"
Cons: "The flight had over six hours in combined delays!!!"
Pros: "Crew was amazing"
Cons: "You can add bkfst for A.M flights"
Pros: "I appreciate how Delta always takes care of their passengers. Comfortable seating and accessible entertainment"
Pros: "Crew and generous pours of wine"
Cons: "The food was at best edible"
Pros: "Entertainment options were very good"
Cons: "Plane was too warm,"
Pros: "Good snacks. Nice crew. Nice seats."
Cons: "Pay WiFi? JetBlue does it for free.."
Pros: "The FA’s and pilot"
Cons: "I love the flight becayse it was smooth sailing and delta is always choice."
Cons: "The flight was 2.5 hours late making me miss my connecting flight and I didn’t receive a refund for the comfort seats I paid for but didn’t get."
Cons: "They changed the gate twice on me and by the time I got to the correct one, the flight had already left."
Cons: "My friend and I was switched to an even worse seating when boarding. Very uncomfortable especially for my friend since he had crutches."
Pros: "Surprised to see the hostess serving food on a domestic flight. Were courteous when we were sitting on the tarmac for 3 hrs waiting for clearance."
Cons: "Folks at the boarding counter were rude. Had one bag as a carry on, and was forced to check it in. Whereas saw other folks stow their two personal items in the overhead cabin."
Pros: "We boarded quickly, in zones. Staff were professional and courteous."
Cons: "Perhaps more than just 2 episodes of some TV programs eg Goldrush. Also more current shows."
Pros: "Good movie choices"
Cons: "Too cramped. No leg room"
Pros: "Zones are more delineated."
Cons: "People were obviously cutting in line and edging up before their zones were called."
Pros: "Staff were friendly and boarding was and getting off was easy because flight was super empty. Timeliness was appreciated too."
Cons: "Seats don't recline far enough."
Pros: "No puedo opinar mucho del proceso de abordaje, ya que para el procedimiento de ingreso a la terminal fue bastante tardado. Pero la atencion por parte del personal fue bastante amable, las bebidas fueron abundantes y justas."
Cons: "I have no complaints"
Cons: "Very uncomfortable flight. Seats are to close to each other"
Pros: "A pretty well-run flight, till we landed and waited on the tarmac for a gate. Otherwise, uneventful. Lunch was decent. Crew was good."
Pros: "We had terrible turbulence for probably 4 of the nearly 5 hour flight. The turbulence were the Pitts, but the plane, amenities, staff and amenities were top nothcj! Highly recommende Delta."
Cons: "Bad turbulence"
Pros: "Free meals and entertainment"
Cons: "Can someone please improve airline food?!"
Pros: "great flight - easy and quick as always"
Cons: "the power on the plane didn't work and there was no entertainment"
Pros: "We upgraded to Delta Comfort, since the flight was a bit longer. I'm glad we did; it made a great deal of difference to have the extra space. The in-flight entertainment (individual displays on the backs of each seat) was excellent, the crew was excellent, and the flight was extremely smooth."
Pros: "Ease of it all!"
Cons: "The jerk behind me who kept kicking my seat and kept coughing obnoxiously like he had never been on a plane"
Pros: "Nice crew. Clean cabin."
Cons: "My outlet didn't work and it made it impossible to make the most of the internet I purchased."
Pros: "Getting to the correct destination."
Cons: "The fact that the lack of knowledge regarding international travel visas by the counter staff and supervisor meant that two days of the vacation were lost. Upon arrival in China the 144 hour travel visa was granted with no problem within minutes, but the U.S. staff was completely befuddled by the possibility. The interrogation was completely stressful and resulted in a reschedule of the original flight and during the second attempt at flying even an email from the U.S. consulate with a link to the Shanghai/Chinese government immigration site was deemed "not official enough". i will be expecting proper compensation. I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."
Pros: "The seats were the widest with the most cushion and padding I've ever had on any flight, I think all their seats were like that. The plane we were on had more leg room than your average flight. Also the backs of the chair were very tall, leaving even mpre head room perfect for tall people . I fly a lot and sometimes my knees hit the seat in front of me or when they recline it shoves the tray to close to you. Not on this flight there was enough room for me to lay back in the seat had the adjustable headrest that went up and down and also curved in to hold your head from falling on your neighbor next to you. Love the fact they had the USB plug-in in front of you. And the crew constantly kept coming through to empty trash and offer beverages. The plane was clean bathrooms in front and back of the airplane. Over all quiet engine and we were above the wings. Temperature good."
Cons: "The crew member that was checking in people at the gate would talk so fast we could barely understand what he was saying on the overhead announcement. I was traveling with someone who was hearing impaired so we were unaware of that they were getting ready to board. The electronic TV monitor wasn't updating to say boarding to notify people that would be helpful for the hearing impaired. Or--if a crew member is muffled on the announcement or talks too fast you can't understand or know what's going on. The most frustrating thing for me and my daughter we were both expecting to use Delta online entertainment. There are no monitor screens in the seats in front of us on this plane. So we were able to use our phones, but it would not download and once It finally downloaded we couldn't upload any of the movies. Connection speed way too slow. The warning said there were too many people on it at that time. Also I like it when they offer free headphones for people that don't have them. An example that would benefit people that don't want to listen to loud people on the plane or babies that are crying."
Cons: "Delta costumer service was terrible. Cancelled my trip twice. They lied to us saying that they were going to give vouchers for hotel, that we were going to be automatically booked for next flight and that our bags would arrive with our flight. Waited 7hs to talk to an agent in the airport. 24h wait in Atlanta had to sleep in airport. They wanted me to wait three days in atlanta. They forced me to check a carry on because they didn't have room in the plane. They told me my bag would arrive with my flight. It never did. I still dont have by only bag. Unbelievable."
Pros: "The flight attendants were so nice and accomadating. Even came by to refill our waters! I've never been on a flight with such friendly flight attendants!"
Pros: "entertainment system included lots of good choices and free. Crew attentive and friendly. Fairly comfortable seating. Boarding was quick (with Delta Amex card). Several snack choices instead of just the old standby of pretzels."
Cons: "Captain not at door to greet passengers as they left - usually a given."
Pros: "I liked the service. It was incredible."
Cons: "I did not like the delay or the continued delay on the runway"
Pros: "Seat was comfortable, easy access to entertainment, charging station at the chair, staff made accommodation for vegetarian meal"
Cons: "Maybe this is a China issue and not the airline but I wasn't able to bring an unopened bottle of water that I purchased in the security area. This made the 10 hour flight very uncomfortable as I went hours without water. Also, use of iPad for reading books wasn't allowed after the flight was established, I'm not sure who came up with these regulations but after spending a month on various flights in Asia, this was the only flight where I encountered these issues. Also, there was no vegetarian option in economy. Fortunatly, the staff brought a left over dinner from business class but I find it hard to believe that flight to the US would not have a vegetarian option."
Pros: "Bags arrived on the belt quickly"
Cons: "Why is there not saying precheck to use after you've been funneled through customs? ATL is advanced enough to have kiosk for arrival, even for those confused and not with global entry, but then forces you to wait in security line instead of the typically faster tea precheck line. Every minute I'm in line, I'm not spending money"
Pros: "Quick boarding"
Cons: "The delta comport seats were not comfort seats were hardly comfortable and the leg room wasn't worth paying for."
Cons: "Enforce your baggage size and number limits. A significant number of passengers take bags onboard that are oversized."
Pros: "Flight was on time"
Cons: "I don't get it.. why airlines have no pride? Tickets are expensive! Fuel is lately cheap.. a Don't get it.. why do they keep crying and act like poor helpless companies? You are connecting 2 major cities in the US... can you please have some pride and offer a Nice airplane and not a crappy old one? Can you have some service going beyond just a soda? It doesn't make sense! When you fly in Europe with any major airline company (not low cost..), no matter how long or short the flight is, minimum you get a sandwich and abundance of drinks.. not with Delta (or any other american airline company).. pontless. We always get treated like cattle.. but they like keeping the prices of tickets expensive, don't they???"
Pros: "Having window seat"
Cons: "Everything was fine"
Cons: "Second flight was sold out and it was hot inside the plane the entire time."
Pros: "Sadly, nothing"
Cons: "Big bulky guy next to me insisted on using all of the armrest, all the time. Crew only greeted white passengers with a smile - which is something I'm noticing in many Delta flights (don't see that happen on Virgin or Alaska) I could see the luggage handlers throwing each bag onto the conveyor belt like they had a personal vendetta against each bag. They made an extra effort to toss each bag IN THE AIR so it lands with a thud. Seriously apalling!"
Pros: "plane was farily empty. Who doesn't like that, other than Delta, haha. Nice workers, smooth flight."
Cons: "Delta comfort was very tight. I'm 6 foot tall and my knees were hitting the chair in front of me the whole flight."
Cons: "Gave away my prepaid seat with no warning, preventing me from sitting in the seat I paid for with my Fiancée."
Cons: "Everything was great beside the flight price. Besides that it was EXCELLENT!"
Cons: "Service was the worst. The poor training of the staff, is clearly a result of poor commitment by the company to provide good customer service."
Pros: "it was everything i expected it to be - minus a few details, but all in all, you get what you pay for. For the price point, it was def a better experience than Spirit which is important. They might not be my first choice but its fair and comfortable enough."
Cons: "i sat a few rows from the back of the plane and the bathroom had a permeant musty smell as if it was old and gross. the flight was about two hours and the flight attendants never asked me what I wanted as my complimentary drink - i thought that was kinda crappy."
Pros: "Clean and comfortable seats"
Pros: "On time friendly crew great price"
Cons: "No recline on seats poor room for legs"
Cons: "The seats are barely glorified lawn chairs, and the crew was extremely insensitive to the fact that the flight took off over 5 hours late and while most people were trying to sleep, they were loud, kept the lights on and were uapologetic that the flight was so ridiculously late. There were children and infants on that flight with exhausted parents who had to take off at 2am instead of 8:50pm. It was awful. Plus you have to pay for a carry on? Ridiculous. I never want to fly Frontier again."
Pros: "Nice staff, just oblivious to everyone sleeping at 2am while they carried on and on with their chatty gossip."
Cons: "Baggage took almost an hour to arrive on both legs of my trip. We were delayed in SFO but due to a long planned maintenance there. Airline could have prepared better. No early boarding with my two year old, but only after all the elite and a whole zone 1 of people. Seats have big gaps that allow things to fall and people sneezing on you from behind. Loud crew with obnoxious lights on during a very delayed flight that became a red eye. Why pay more for seats near the loud crew who doesn't take in the fact that we're all tired. You want to sell food? Choose better items. My $3.99 coffee could at least have more than a powder non-dairy creamer. Flight price is so deceiving when you charge for everything on top of it, including where I sit. Lame, awful, corporate money grubbing mentality. I'll stick with southwest (I later learned they had had fewer options for once because they actually considered that a runway was closed)."
Pros: "Flight was on time"
Cons: "Seats don't recline and are very uncomfortable."
Pros: "They charged me $60 for one small carry on bag, and I will never book any flight from Frontier anymore."
Cons: "Everything about then I disliked."
Pros: "Relatively quick flight - I slept much of the time. Decent leg room (but I am short). Great price!! I overheard others on the flight with similar prices, I am glad this was available."
Cons: "A loud crying baby was behind me the whole time. Inevitably, he stopped crying just five minutes before the flight ended. Nothing much any one can do about this. I did not think to ask for ear plugs, maybe you have them."
Pros: "I liked everything except I was a bit surprised to find out it was an extra $40 for my carry-on each way. I would've paid the extra $80 upfront but it seemed a little bit sneaky to add it on when I got to the airport. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable experience."
Cons: "From the time my flight sat at the gate for 30 minutes saying that had to load last minute bags, to getting no water to drink for 3 hours, to uncomfortable seats that do not push back, and now no bags after 36 hours after paying a $40.00 fee, with no way to communicate with the airlines for a status, this will be the last Frontier flight for me, regardless of the pricing."
Cons: "I felt taken advantage of by the surcharges."
Pros: "The plane didn't crash. That was the only positive."
Cons: "-Both flights delayed by hours to and from, with zero explanation from staff, nor any acknowledgment or sympathy for all of us waiting 4 extra hours to board a flight. -Seats don't recline, trays barely large enough to fit my iPhone on it -Hidden fees with everything. 1 carry-on costs $35-$60, picking a seat costs $9-$35, and you can't even get a glass of soda without paying. Cheaper to book elsewhere after all the extra expenses. -I would recommend horse drawn buggie before flying Frontier. The risk of dysentery is a better option."
Pros: "They won't tell her what they are doing and they keep making maintenance mistakes. I just want her home"
Cons: "We were charged for a seat on top of the ticket price, our carry on luggage, as well as drinks and snacks on the plane. If I'd known of all of the extra fees I wouldn't have chosen fronteir. Now I know, and won't choose it again."
Pros: "The crew was nice, flight on time and fine."
Cons: "I don't like the fact that you do not recycle, yet you provide goods that are just placed in landfills and will take hundreds of years to decompose. The airports recycle, is it that difficult to make that happen for Frontier? The hundreds of plastic cups, plastic bottles, cans, etc. etc. is mind blowing and is something I pay attention to. I actually took my item back to the airport instead of giving to the crew at the end so I could place the item in the recycle bin in the airport after asking your crew if there was recycling. They said there was no recycling. I also picked up a plastic bottle from another seat on the way out to help clean up since I knew you guys would throw it out anyway. Thanks for considering being more sustainable, eco-friendly, and for thinking about my comment seriously to minimize your airplane's environmental impact. I will pay attention and voice my concerns elsewhere as well - recycling shouldn't have to be done by the consumer, the businesses need to step up and make it happen."
Cons: "At every point, this airline tries to nickle and dime you. Costs for luggage and carry ons drive the price up to that of other tickets. The seats are very cramped and do not recline."
Pros: "The staff and crew were handling the situation well given the hand they were dealt."
Cons: "6 hour delay before they found replacement airplane, waiting till almost all food was closed before issuing meal vouchers, chairs do not recline at all, no head rest padding."
Cons: "I didnt like the fact that I couldn't talk to someone here in the United states for frontier. I didn't like that when I called customer service I was instructed to do the wrong thing and fill out the wrong form. And most of all I really hated that my flight was cancelled and my money put into a "shell credit" and when I went to re book the fight it cost 3 times the amount than I originally paid. Overall this has been a horrible experience and I will be tell everyone I know and even people I don't know via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and snap chat about my experience . Overall I feel your service and your service provider failed miserably."
Pros: "Flights were on time"
Cons: "Didn't know it would cost me $80 to bring luggage with me. Would have liked to have known this explicitly in advance - I'm a graduate student and $80 is a lot of $ for me to spend without budgeting for it. Also - I needed to do school work while on the plane and the try tables weren't big enough to hold a computer."
Cons: "Flight delayed again, upon arrival in Seattle we were unable to find our car seat. The Frontier rep was not upstairs nor at the carrousel even after being paged by the port of Seattle. Eventually, we found it in front of Delta's baggage claim with no bag on, no indicator (signage) at all that it was part of Frontier's flight."
Cons: "Canceled my flight 30 min before takeoff, and didn't get us on another one for 2 days."
Pros: "I actually like that you cannot lean your seat back. It's too imposing on the passenger behind you."
Cons: "They charge extra for everything. Every seat has an extra charge except for the middle seats in the very back row. Once you've paid for your seat and for your carry-on bag(!), you've paid as much as you would have flying with Alaska, American, United, etc. There was no entertainment whatsoever on a 5 hour flight (not even for purchase) and no snack provide either. I believe there was food for purchase but I didn't even look at it. Also, they do not support TSA pre-check. This would have been something the representative I called should have informed me of but instead she told me she had updated my records. So in addition to the fee gouging, their staff are either uninformed or outright dishonest."
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "The seats don't recline, the boarding passes didn't scan anywhere we tried to scan into."
Pros: "The announcement (although I didn't take them up on it) to offer two domestic round trips if I'd sign up for one of their Mastercards. It's probably not a bad deal for someone who likes to have lots of credit cards and doesn't mind annual fees, I'm just not one of those people."
Cons: "My inability to access their e-mail offers to set things up ahead of time and at lower costs than paying them at the airport check-in, above and beyond the baggage charges themselves (Seventy bucks), especially for my carry on ... COME ON! I've become used to Southwest's far more enlightened policies, which I obviously prefer. Since it also has flights between Seattle and Denver, I'll look much more closely at staying with them the next time I make this trip."
Pros: "Airline ticket cost."
Cons: "Rude flight crew and the only thing that doesn't have a fee attached to it is the use of the bathroom and drinking water."
Cons: "Garbage airline"
Cons: "They charge for carry on baggage and do not make you aware of this at the time of ticket purchase, so it is a surprise. They do not provide even free water in-flight; everything, including even water, is for purchase. Water should really be free. The initial prices are therefore misleading since they tack on many additional fees that are not standard in the airline industry."
Pros: "I was extremely disappointed with Fronteir airlines this was my first and only experience flying with them, and though the ticket price was great, it simply was NOT worth it! There were additional costs for everything! When I attempted to get my seat assignment I was told they assign at the gate, or I could PAY an additional fee for choosing one myself. And, they charge extra for your carry on bag. And expecting to at least be offered a soda, maybe a mini bag of salted pretzels if lucky (lol), I was SHOCKED to be told 1 soda was $1,99! Additional cost for any snacks or anything other than water! The aircraft was very dirty inside the bathroom as well as on and by my seat, as though it hadn't been even wiped down in over a month! (Pretty bad!) The flight crew were all very good I must say. I asked one of them and was told that 2of them were brand new employees. It really showed! They were much friendlier and genuinely cared about customer service! Refreshing! So, overall I would have to rate it low, and highly unlikely to fly with them again.even the checking in process was a real headache! I am glad to have received this questionaire , as I had planned on actually taking the time to sit down and write a letter as well as request a full refund , or credit for a friend, family member, or myself . You do run some pretty excellent deals, and I would like to welcome the opportunity to experience Fronteir in positive light, a nothing but positive experience. Thank you very much. Sincerely, Dr.Tamra D.Lyngaas 20426 102nd Ave. S.E., Kent, Wa. 98031"
Cons: "Two of your flight crew were caring and genuine it seemed. Great attitudes and upbeat!"
Pros: "That I arrived home safely."
Cons: "You have to pay for a carry on, no complimentary snacks, flight was delayed an hour"
Pros: "Attendants are friendly and deserve to work at a more respectable airline."
Cons: "The elimination of tray tables is so cheaply appalling. Just to shove a few more rows of seats on a plane while sacrificing everyone's comfort and space. Could have shipped my luggage for cheaper than all the added fees. Will avoid this airline in the future."
Cons: "Brutal turbulence leaving Denver. We noticed a crack in the wing upon landing in Denver. Rudeness seems to be a prerequisite for Frontier flight attendants as they charge for water and carry on bags. We refused to pay the additional $13 to select our seats and as a result were seated on the last row of the plane. Kayak should really add the cost of seat selection, a carry on bag, and water to the price they are showing to be more realistic."
Cons: "Both flights to & from Denver were over 30 minutes late unloading passengers. This particular flight was late on all counts.15 minutes late beginning boarding. Departed over 30 min. Late and arrival was about 40 min. Late. I do like that charging for carry on means people board /load and deplane/unload quickly. We get what we pay for and Frontier is cheap. We payfor each little add on, reserved seats, beverage, carry on, etc.Good option if cheapness is primaryfactor over comfort, convenience, or reliabledeparture and arrival schedule. Unrealistic tight scheduling means little time to clean or prepareplane between flights."
Pros: "Comfortable seats, newer plane, airy feel to cabin."
Cons: "Baggage policy is by far the most cryptic & restrictive of any national carrier... And ever heard of paying to reserve a seat?"
Cons: "I was surprised to be charged for a small carry on bag for $40.00. I found the passenger next to me was not charged for the same exact bag."
Pros: "The boarding process was very quick."
Cons: "The woman at the counter got so frustrated answering passenger questions that she just turned off the screen. I had no clue if I was at the correct gate and also had no idea what time the flight was scheduled to leave."
Pros: "The price was good."
Cons: "But not that good."
Cons: "The carry-on fee was a surprise. Although I can understand the need to restrict what is carried on because people try to avoid check baggage fee, but a carry on fee is ridiculous."
Pros: "Text message notifications of flight delay, considering my flight was delayed multiple times, quickness of boarding, and short wait times at the ticket counter"
Cons: "The carry on baggage fee that I was informed of as I was boarding, causing delay to other passengers while other guests and myself are waiting to pay for a bag, or forced to throw items away. There is no reason for a carry on bag the size of a backpack to cost $30. I understand most airlines have started charging these fees now, but it is ridiculous to get to the airport and have to pay for every bag. I can buy a flight for $54 and end up paying twice that much just in baggage fees. Also why do the room in the seats seem to get smaller every time, no headrest, and I can barely fit a book on my tray table. A few money saving techniques male the flight that much less comfortable"
Pros: "I like that it is inexpensive because I would not be able to fly otherwise."
Cons: "I've ridden Frontier several times but never have I ridden on a flight that doesn't even let you put your seat back. For a 4 hour red-eye, this was a huge disappointment."
Cons: "First time flying Frontier. Great advertised rate round trip Sea to Denver $140 vs next best AK at $170. Receive email to pick seat, Suprise... They cost $9-36 each way, no mention of free seats if you just show up and go open seating. also Suprise# 2 carrying are $40 each way. I choose $18 seats and had a carry on so total trip ended up being $140 + $126 in a frontier gotcha money an increase in fare of almost double. I did find out about the seat chafe scam before checking in and asked to just go open seat.....uhh no. So how much would the Alaska Air trip have been....$170 plus $0 for assigned seat and $0 for carry on so $170. So fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.... Their will not be a twice and I suggest Kayak add some notes to fares to avoid future bilking by Frontier."
Cons: "It was a surprise to me that now even carry on luggage is charged. Please make that clear up front -- before purchase"
Cons: "I was helping my mother - in - law check in and board - she needed wheel chair assistance. We were in line to drop off a bag that we had checked in online an hour before the flight. There were 5 people in the line with only 2 reps helping. Since I hadn't printed the boarding pass, I tried to print the pass at the self-help kiosks getting the message that I needed to see an agent. The cut-off for checked in baggage is 45 mins before the flight, however the reps were making no effort to expedite the service. In 15 mins they had helped 2 people making us the 3rd in line and the line had grown to an additional 5-6 people behind us. 45 mins before the flight they refused to take in any bags for checking - in. Since I was able to take the checked in bag with me, I asked that the agent print the boarding pass for my mother in law and call for wheel chair assistance. The agent called for wheel chair assistance but refused to print the boarding pass! The one thing that the ticketing / check in agent should be able to do is to print a boarding pass for a reservation that is fully paid. Because of this my mother in law had to miss her flight and we paid an additional $99 to get onto the next flight. I was so taken aback when the agent refused to print the boarding pass, that I did not even know how to convince her to do her job. This is probably the worst experience I have ever had with any airline!"
Pros: "The flight was the cheapest"
Cons: "Flight was a hour late. Gate personnel were uninformed and discourteous, seats were extraordinarily uncomfortable, tray tables were unbelievably small and not even water was free. I've flown no frills before but this was terrible."
Cons: "It's just really hard to enjoy a flight when you feel like you've been nickeled and dimed. I flew frontier a couple years ago and felt the same way. I forgot I guess and gave it another try. I"m definitely done with Frontier"
Pros: "The crew was exceptionally helpful on both segments."
Cons: "The seats were not comfy at all- no reclining whatsoever and had to prepay for every bag."
Cons: "My name was not correct on return email documents. When I tried to correct on-line, the program asked for another $139. When I phoned the number listed, I had a gentleman whose English was very hard to understand. He ended up telling me not to worry about the error-it would not cause a problem. I ended up phoning a 2nd time, to another person to assure that nothing would go wrong at boarding time."
Pros: "The flight attendants were nice. This is the best I can say about Frontier Airlines."
Cons: "Whoever designed the seats does not understand the human form. They were TORTUOUS to sit it. I had to take my emergency anti-nausea pill, the seats torked my body so badly. I was in so much pain after I arrived at my destination at both ends, I needed medical help. Charging extra for every little thing was insane. They didn't even give you a basic drink without drooling into your wallet. I have never been charged for a carry on bag before. Checked luggage yes, but never carry on. Both on the flight out and on the flight in, they missed the boarding gate, so we had to wait a long time while they lined it up with the airplane. A frightening lack of training here. Flying sucks. I understand that; that's the way of the system now. This went so far beyond the basic suckage of the regular flying experience, it was unbelievable. Frontier will NEVER be getting my money again. Probably the most expensive flight for the least comfort and amenities you could find."
Pros: "Not much."
Cons: "First and LAST time flying Spirit. Once I had to pay the fee for having a carry on bag, the price came out closer to one of the airlines I should have used instead. The website address didn't even work from my phone, so I had to pay the $65 gate fee for the carry on. The seats weren't comfortable, didn't recline, no cushioning. No inflight entertainment of any kind. During the flight, I got up and went to the front to use the bathroom (which I KNEW was empty) and the staff directed me to use the ones in back. Why? And they never reduced the cabin pressure on the descent! The cabin was still completely pressurized for the higher altitudes well after we touched down. This feels like such an amateur mistake that simply isn't acceptable."
Pros: "Easy check-in process."
Cons: "No outlet to keep electronics charged."
Pros: "We were sitting in the first row but this guy behind us had a sick dog. There was poop all over the seat and everything. We ended up moving towards the very back of the cabin to get away from the smell."
Cons: "The smell"
Cons: "Flight delayed 2 hours, plane had issues, unconfortable"
Cons: "Everything was really bad. I will recommend everybody to run very far away from this company"
Pros: "Nothing... the passengers were nice."
Cons: "It was horrible! I won’t let any of my friends use Spirit air. I had to pay 55$ for a carry on. I wasn’t even carrying a purse. I was told after I paid 55$ and they took my bag I could have pre- checked my bag for less! I had to pay for my seat!!! There were no screens, no outlets, no WiFi, and no snacks without a charge. On my return The Spirit website did not indicate gate changes as the gate changes. I prechecked this time, 3 hours early and the plane departed 40 min before departure. The screens at kiosk did not indicate changes to flight time or gate change. I wasn’t even called!!! I missed my flight. The staff gave no help for hotel or shuttle. I was to sleep 12 hours for n Next plane and my bag was on first plane. My original flight of $249 to Vegas was $349. Plus hotel 129 plus $40 for extra night stay and Uber."
Cons: "55.00 for a carry on bag?? Are you kidding me? If I had known that when I bought the tickets of course I wouldn't have bought the tickets. For another hundred dollars I could have bought a ticket From Alaska flown in comfort and had free water !!! Instead I had to use that 100.00 for carry on bags! I hate you guys! You're the biggest rip off. I fly an average 3 times a year. I will never fly Spirit and I will tell everyone on all social media not to fly with spirit unless they enjoy getting raped!!!"
Pros: "Once I boarded and found MY seat actually there, right where it was supposed to be, and we departed early, pleasant attendants (way nicer and knowledgeable than on-line booking crew!), uncrowded plane, no frantic, rude rush to get us through snack service, early arrival, uncomplicated, speedy disembarking, maybe, just maybe , I'll fly Spirit again. Now that I know all the ropes, rules, fine-print, etc.I'll price to see if it's really worth the drive to TIA, the parking expense, all the add-ons, or if it's easier and less agita just to leave from SRQ, my down-the-street airport and maybe just a few $$ more."
Cons: "The absolute chicanery of your on-line booking process!!!! Get real, people...I bet YOU couldnt even complete the process and remain sane!!!! I just read some reviews: people are rude loud and angry because of your online process I know you claim bare costs, but we are still giving you our hard-earned miney. We do it because we cant fly first-class (-$$$-) so dont make us feel like we are settling for steerage. It's a lot of money to us!"
Pros: "The crew was very funny and active!"
Cons: "It was very comfortable and you get what you pay for. It was excellent."
Cons: "They charge extra for everything. That great price was quickly eroded by add on charges for luggage, seats, water, and as soon as they can figure out how to meter it, they will charge restroom visits by the pound. Worst airline ever."
Cons: "DID NOT APPRECIATE THE 'TRICK" OF CHARGING $52.- TO CHECK IN ONE BAG AT COUNTER SINCE WE FAILED TO PURCHASE BEFOREHAND AT HALF THE PRICE!"
Cons: "I'm not still in Seattle. The worse vacation ever thanks ti SPIRIT AIRLINE"
Pros: "The crew - very friendly."
Cons: "Delayed flight; delay in deboarding plane. On our earlier Spirit Airlines flight we were 12min early to our departure time but because we weren't 15mins early they wouldn't let us on, had to get on another flight - but they did change our flight without charging us."
Pros: "Never made it!! Missed connection."
Cons: "Missed connection and utterly dismal options!"
Pros: "Funny flight attendant on the way to Houston. Loved his sense of humor. Good price for ticket"
Cons: "Very cold in the plane Boarding crew at the gate - looked and sounded like they just got out of college. They need a better script/training for making announcements. No option to check-in online without signing up for Free Spirit. Guess bare minimum means many things..."
Cons: "Seats are horribly uncomfortable and did not recline"
Cons: "Two hour delay was very unfortunate because the link light rail stops running at midnight so I had to spend quite a bit more money for an Uber home"
Pros: "Low Price"
Cons: "High adder for seat and luggage. Very uncomfortable seats. Seats do not recline. Not enough leg room. No complementary snacks or drinks. After you add the unexpected luggage fees and seat fees Spirit would NOT be the best price! What a scam! I will definitely steer clear of this airlines after I complete this trip."
Pros: "They boarded quickly, the flight left and landed on time. The crew were friendly. I was glad that I had paid extra for a front seat, which was very comfortable."
Cons: "It is difficult to tell what is in the snacks on the menu, the nut mix contained pretzels and sesame crackers which was not what I had expected."
Pros: "Crew is friendly"
Cons: "Seats are uncomfortable. They told us when we checked in that they were running on time. They sent an email saying we would arrive early. HA"
Pros: "Boarding was fast. The flight was on time and even landed sooner than what was quoted. The cabin smelled fresh, not like usual planes. The seats did not feel too gross."
Cons: "Two crew members (a flight attendant and perhaps a pilot) were SO loud during part of the flight that it triggered epileptic side effects for me (dizziness, extreme nausea). I threw up several times due to this. The crew members were not talking about essential flight needs, it was social. However, after I began vomiting the crew was quick to help me with extra bags, ginger ale, and dimming a light closer to me."
Cons: "The flight left 9 minutes earlier than scheduled so we missed the flight and had to go to hotel and missed a day at my job as well as my wife too."
Pros: "Very friendly crew"
Pros: "Customer service was phenomenal. Very happy with the price and service"
Pros: "we had a safe flight, no major issues, and were able to get off the plane quickly."
Cons: "I had to pay $97 to check my bag...kinda defeats the purpose of booking a cheap flight. This was by far the smallest seating space I've ever had...I'm 5'9 so normally I don't have an issue with this but my knees were about an inch away from the seat in front of me and I had no space to move around. The headrests were hard as a rock, and I could feel a metal bar in the middle of the seat poking out at my back. The seats don't go back, there was no entertainment whatsoever, not even a magazine to read. The main lights were left on during the 4.5 hour nighttime flight. There was not even a complimentary cup of water...$3 for water. It was also freezing in the plane and there was a 2 hour delay for no apparent reason. Look up the fees they charge for everything before you book with Spirit."
Cons: "Unprofessional cabin crew. Talking loudly while passengers were trying to sleep. It was a 10pm- 2am flight. Asked for help and lady told me to wait a moment, continued to talk to another cabin crew member before coming back to me."
Cons: "The flight was already delayed for over 1hr 30 min and then the Baggage handlers put the bags in the wrong place we had to go back to the gate and wait for them to move bags from the front to the back"
Cons: "The fact the flights got delayed because there were bad weather in Florida, when the flight was Houston Seattle."
Pros: "This was the shortest travel time from Houston to Seattle."
Cons: "Baggage policies, lack of USB or electrical outlets, limited food selections. If another airline offered a nonstop flight for an additional $100 I would gladly have paid more."
Pros: "Got to Seattle safely."
Cons: "Massively delayed. Overbooked flights"
Cons: "Told agents that my wife is Russian, but is a permanent resident, so they told me to put the resident card number on her reservation, but did not mention anything about her Russian passport being needed. So once we discovered that we needed my wife's passport, I contacted Uber to pick me up. take me home, so I could get her passport, but, since her reservation was in her married name, the agent had to redo her reservation to her maiden name and we missed our flight. Also, since I had already checked in with one bag, the bag made the flight without us, as it was not in the Houston airport."
Pros: "I liked the price. I got home safely."
Cons: "The flight attendants were straight up rude from start to finish. The seats didn't recline, meh. The A/C was non-existent and it was too warm. The flight was delayed for departure and once we landed, we spent almost an hour on the tarmac waiting for a gate to depart."
Cons: "Delayed 3 hours. I'm 6'6" seating in the middle seat. Never flying SPIRIT again."
Pros: "The temperature on the plane was perfect"
Cons: "Seats were not comfortable. It was my first time flying with spirit and once you pay extra for a seat, bags, and food, it ends up costing more to fly with this airline than it does with others. I will not be flying with spirit again."
Pros: "Low price, left/arrived on time, friendly crew."
Cons: "High Carry-on fee, tight leg room, non reclining seats."
Cons: "Our flight was canceled due to "weather" but other flights were taking off. Really messed with our trip and we will never fly with Spirit again."
Cons: "I spoke with a customer service rep and requested to cancel round trip from Seattle to Las Vegas; I was told that they had to be cancelled separately, so I did this and was told that both were cancelled and because I had called in a timely manner I would not be charged. This transaction was friendly and helpful; however, apparently not completed accurately. Three weeks later: Only my one trip TO Vegas was cancelled; my return flight home was not. When I again called Spirit, Jenki (sp?) answered the phone and told me I hadn't cancelled in enough time and would be charged for the trip and could not cancel the return leg home. I protested and was told they would review my phone conversation. They did not call me back, but I will be calling again later today to see if I can get credit (although I don't want to use them again in any case). Very disappointed with the service."
Cons: "I felt a ripp off affter when I found oute that I hadto pay 165.00 for bagage in order tu fly my furst reaction is what gotme here my guife bought the tikets I will never use this company again and I have share the story to all may friends relatives family members after surbey the c e o owners protocols make mi feel that I must stay away from this institution this is very harmful to any human I just want to be treated the way you treat your loved ones becouse we R humans, and humans never get close to people that confuses lies and hurts them ."
Pros: "Boarding was efficient"
Cons: "The planes were alarmingly old. They were not comfortable and while I'm sure they do safety checks, there was so much flexing, rattling, and groaning that it did not feel safe. On our way out of the country - they did not have pens to fill out the customs forms, and told us that if we made a mistake we were out of luck because they didn't have extras. It should be more clear (before purchase) that the price for any bag (even a carry on) is so high - it raises the price of the ticket $100 which is significant On arrival in US they NEVER told us what carousel our bags were on, it was not posted, even on the carousel... it took us forever to find them"
Pros: "The only thing I liked was getting off that plane."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for THREE hours. They sat me in the very back row by the wall, where there's no window. I was literally sitting in the corner. The flight attendant was a funny gay guy who spent more time flirting with a passenger on the plane than anything else. He made it apparent he didn't wanna be bothered by anyone else. The flight was extremely turbulent the entire way. Which made it hard to even nap after boarding 3 hours late. I couldn't look out a window...I couldn't nap...I couldn't read because of the turbulence...literally the only thing I could do was stare at the seat in front of me for 2+ hours. They didn't even offer complimentary snacks or beverages, we had to pay to eat or drink. SHITTY AND UNCOMFORTABLE! But at least nobody dragged me off the plane, so that's a plus."
Pros: "Cheap ticket purchase price"
Cons: "I was charged for carrying on my roll on bag because of its shape. While my brother on the same flight carried on an even larger backpack. But, it was considered a personal item. Also because we did not wish to pay even more to pick our seats, we were assigned the last row on the plane where the fuselage begins to taper towards the tail of a plane. Therefore it there was not nearly enough shoulder room for my brother and me. Overall the discomfort, lackadaisical staff, and shrewd penny-pinching policies insured that I will never fly Spirit Airlines again."
Pros: "Started off OK but then we quickly downhill flight was canceled due to fog in San Diego so I never made it onto the plane."
Cons: "Weather delay with fog in San Diego. Not Spirit's fault but they delayed for an hour and a half and then cancel the flight. As they canceled the flight they came around with cards with a number to call to rebook or change your itinerary. I called the number on the car rather than getting right in line at the desk. By the time I got through on the phone it would have been 10 to 15 minutes. They told me that since I was halfway through my return trip they couldn't do anything over the phone. So then I had to get in line and wait. I was the last person served. They offered me a flight to days later at the same time 9:45 PM that was unacceptable so I ask for something else and he somehow turned out they had a Houston Chicago San Diego flight that leaves tomorrow morning at seven. Very disappointed in the handling by the rebooking staff on the phone the gate agents were very friendly but very overworked and stressed. Service manager was there and he put me on a call back on the phone but that didn't help either. Not flying spirit again anytime soon."
Cons: "After years of hearing negative things about Spirit, I never could relate because my experiences had always been great. However, this last experience was the worst. I was on a 7 day cruise through Carnival that got delayed an entire day with docking to return home, due to heavy fog, and Spirit was not understanding nor did they accommodate me, and made me purchase a one-way flight back home after I had already purchased a round trip flight. The one-way flight was more than my round trip. This was a huge inconvenience. Other airlines honored the boats delay and let their customers fly back home with no extra charge."
Pros: "One customer service woman at the airport."
Cons: "Literally everything else. I could not have had a worse experience. Spirit's online system changed unexplainedly changed our address without our knowledge, therefore preventing me from checking my fiance in online. I spent too much time attempting to talk to them about it over the phone, and ended up being late to leave for the airport. On the drive there, I was able to get ahold of a customer service representative on the phone who purchased my fiance's luggage, seat, and checked her in over the phone. We arrived 43 minutes before the flight, and were turned away while attempting to check in her bag, being told that she was not checked in for the flight, and it was now past the mandatory 45 minutes before flight time and would not allow her aboard. I spent the next 2 hours arguing with customer service, where they accused me of lying and said that they don't even offer to check in people over the phone. I could go on, but it was absolutely awful, and we weren't able to be placed on a flight until the next morning."
Pros: "It got me from Houston to Las Vegas without killing me . . . that's about it."
Cons: "From the booking process 5 months ago trying to fix an incorrect date I put in (had to cancel and rebook) English was not understandable. To their online problems. Couldn't get online to save paying an outrageous fee for luggage and online booking. Met with the standard go online and complain ? Rude unresponsive employees that garble off phrases so often and so fast as to be incomprehensible. Misinformation by the flight crew as to where the luggage would be. Smallest cramped seats I've ever been in. NEVER AGAIN. (this is not like me, I'm usually very easy going)"
Pros: "Crew was nice, friendly, and funny. 3 stars is because there is no actual service unless you flag them down to pay for things."
Cons: "WARNING: MUST PAY FOR CARRY ON BEFORE GATE. Spirit wants $45 for a carry on bag, and apparently $100 if you don't realize it before you get to the gate. I don't even know how much for checking one. So unless all you have is a handbag, add $90 per bag to the cheap looking price. Seat reservations are janky and can also cost you money. There's no app to check in, reserve seats, or view your flight, and their website has a terrible mobile user interface. The crew doesn't even ask if you want something, they just walk up and down with trash bags. That said, they were polite, professional and friendly. I guess you flag them down if you want to spend a bunch of money on Chex Mix and a soda or expensive beer. You have to pay to even get water or peanuts. There is no entertainment. The seats do not recline. If you have never flown Spirit, you're probably thinking "all that is too ridiculous to be true," which is what I thought when my Uber driver started warning me. Nothing above is exaggerated, just the facts. Never again."
Cons: "Had never flown Spirit before. First AND LAST experience. Don't care that they call themselves no frills. Their customer service is pathetic. Had to wait at the airport for 25 minutes for any Spirit employee to show up at the ticket counter to check my bag. By that time there were about 50 people waiting for help. Even other airline employees and TSA employees didn't know why they weren't there. Also called customer service to have my KTN (pre-check #) added because I couldn't put it in when I booked the flight. Even though he told me he would put it in- he didn't. So NO precheck for me. The seats in the plane are beyond uncomfortable. Like sitting on a hard straight chair -no padding. Charging for carry ons? Really? Checking my bag was cheaper than carrying it on and it's a SMALL suitcase seriously. Do NOT be fooled by the low prices listed. They are deceiving!!! Just trying to give a real review here folks. Not being overly dramatic."
Cons: "Nothing is complimentary, all snacks and drinks for purchase are inexcusably expensive when other companies provide for free, hefty fee for checked bags and carry-on 40-50$ paid to and from which makes up the difference for their cheap flights (not much cheaper than JetBlue or American) my luggage was left in the city I was visiting and when I asked for a refund for my returning checked bag fee, I was denied because I paid cash at check-in and it wasn't on my reservation (obviously I had paid to have it flown because it was supposed to go on board). All in all terrible experience and not worth the 25$ travel voucher I received--which doesn't even cover cost of luggage 1-way--because I'll honestly never fly spirit again."
