Delta's economy seats are so tiny that even a small person like myself finds it agonizing to ride in them for a moderate-length flight. We need aggressive regulation of our airlines to prevent the unconscionable and humiliating way they treat economy passengers. It's not safe, healthy or humane to ask human beings to sit for hours in tiny spaces with very little air (on top of everything else, the plane was mercilessly hot the whole time). Next time I will choose a European carrier--even the discount Euro carriers are better than any US airline."

Nobody can hear or see anything. Why not use the big LCD displays at the gate??? In the plane they had to restart the computer system as some TVs were not working and it took longer than they said. Toilets were kind of stinky and I could smell them from my seat on row 26. Blankets are way too thin for the blasting AC."

More than ten people were left behind - doors practically closed in our faces - and Lufthansa was wholly unhelpful in rescheduling flights. Lines to speak with agents were absurd and then attendants had to take breaks instead of resolve issues. There were no solutions offered, only poor communication and an unwillingness to accommodate a significant number of customers who were inconvenienced. Finally, a "random inspection" led to a handful of passengers being surveyed by the German local police. Interestingly, a number of us were Hispanic Americans. The whole experience was extremely negative."

She then made my flight a nightmare, until I let her sit in my aisle seat. Even then she was not satisfied, she abused me the whole flight damaged the screen so I could not use it until the steward fixed it. Demanded that I except any and all alcohol to give to her to drink. When I am tea total she then continued to abuse me. I asked the steward to move me he just shrugged his shoulders and said there was nowhere else. This is definitely my the worst flight I have experienced."

I sat in the middle seat between two hours other men. It was a constant struggle arm space. After 7hours in the air I could not wait to get off the plane. If I didn't actually pay an extra €60 for the seat I may not feel bad but I feel like I might have been better off without paying for the "upgrade""

Cons: "Was not informed that checking in online is the only way to secure a seat. So, regardless of whether you book your tickets 3 months in advance or the day before, you're not actually guaranteed a seat unless you check in online. We weren't told this until we were at the airport and checked in there that we might not be able to get our pre-booked in advance flight because of over-booking from KLM. We then had to wait and see if there were seats available when boarding. Luckily, there were, but we were not sat together. Not the greatest start to our first holiday together as a couple. We were told that if there weren't seats available, they'd pay for us to get to another airport to fly out, which would have meant a huge delay on the only time off we'd get together this year and have to rearrange our pre-booked and pre-paid living arrangements for the week. All because there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the need to check in online before hand. You'd think if someone checked in at the airport, that would be more of a guarantee that they'd be flying with you that day, but apparently not. Definitely not impressed or happy with this part of the KLM experience. This is the only company that we've had this problem with, they should make it clearer that it is essential to check in online."

The worst new development is that you have to pay an additional charge if you want to sit together. That is pretty ridiculous for an international flight AND when you have a small child with you. I can see doing that on Ryan air, but that is pretty low for a Scandinavian airline. Scandinavians have a very strong sense of family."

Cons: "Our ticket said economy, but it was a specific set of economy that did not include any baggage. If we were warned prior we could have purchased it for significantly cheaper. Our ticket was not clear and it cost us 175usd for two bags at the airport. Very disappointing"
Pros: "Really appreciated how helpful everyone was, from check-in at Newark to arrival. The entertainment system worked well, too. Aside from the two issues I describe below, SAS seems to be extremely efficient and well-run."
Cons: "There was some mix-up - not sure where - but I did requested a vegetarian meal and it wasn't in the system. I'd also requested an aisle seat due to a hip issue and was told I'd have one - but when I went to check in, I'd been put in a center seat in a bulkhead. I was able to change but it was the last row of the plane. We the gate they were able to move me up at the last minute - but this all could've been much easier."

Cons: "At self check-in, we received a message that we had been placed on standby and that our seats were no longer guaranteed (for the SECOND time this trip with no explanation despite our having purchased our tickets quite some time ago). We were directed to the gate for questions. No one manned the gate until right before boarding. We spent the entire time in a panic trying to figure out how else we could get to our destination in time for a wedding. When we finally talked to someone at the counter, he said this was just normal procedure to be able to shuffle seats. This is not normal. I have flown with many airlines, and I cannot imagine it is ever "normal" policy to tell people they have been downgraded to standby until just before the flight. So much anxiety. Also, the flight was delayed, and the crew had no communication about gates or any other information (within their OWN AIRLINE) for those with connecting flights."

Cons: "Series of unfortunate events: 1. No air vents in seats. Plane was very warm the entire flight. My husband and I spent 6+ hours sweating in our seats. 2. Dinner was not served until 9:30/10PM. By the time we received our food in the back, it was cold. 3. For guests who wanted to sleep during the red eye, the lights were not turned off until after dinner and cleanup, which meant only 2 or so hours of sleep in dark."
Cons: "Due to a train mix-up, I arrived at the Frankfurt airport with only 53 minutes to get through security and board. Lufthansa would not let me through the process, even though I immediately told them about the problem. They not only refused to let me board, but also refused to reschedule me. I had to buy a whole new round-trip ticket at more than double the price in order to meet my family for our once-in-a-lifetime reuinion in Norway, but also make my existing connection for the return flight. It cost me an additional 999 Euros cash in the middle of my vacation because my Kayak ticket was not refundable."

Cons: "Lost my luggage when the other 3 people who I am traveling with got theirs. Not sure what went wrong there. No SAS personnel was available, actually there was no airline counter even. I filed a lost and found report at the airport. I will contact the airline , hope they will find my bags or at least provide vouchers for my one week vacation."

I was advised that a change was possible, but that with penalties and taxes, it would amount to MORE than the price of the ticket. Hell of a way to run a railroad!....speaking of railroads, that gives me an idea for when we reschedule!!"
Cons: "During online check in and through the website, I was informed that I would be able to have one free checked bag. I was never prompted that I would have to pay additional. However, when I arrived at the airport, I was told that I had to pay an additional $75 to check my bag in even though my boarding pass stated I was able to check in one bag. I was then pushed back and forth through the airport to complete this process. I would have liked to be given warning if I had to pay any additional costs."

I was flying with a family member and instead of sitting next to them I had to sit next to a stranger."

When we arrived in Keflavik, we were directed to the service counter and they got us on a different flight departing in 5 min. We hurried to through passport control and ran to the gate. We boarded the plane and realized they sat us in first class. What a treat. To our surprise, all of our checked bags made it through as well. Icelandair is officially out new favorite airline!"

Cons: "Forget about comfortable experience during the flight. The way how they list the ticket from Kayak is the scam. Stated Economy class on Kayak and their own website ticket info. Once you chek in, they will stated this is the cheapest economy ticket, doesnt allow any baggage, and you have to pay I think around $150 for round trip baggage. End up with just to carry on, wouldnt able to shop in Europe. If you includ baggage flight would be similar to other airline provide baggage and quality services. Huge mistake, customer service located overseas, and dont care about customer."

That's ridiculous!! Considering that Icelandair charges nearly as much for their transatlantic flights as other airlines such as KLM or Delta, I'm beginning to wonder why I should return!"
