And the JAL staff, on the ground as well as in the air, are Grade A diplomats, counselors, and -- in a word -- professionals. Which is sorely lacking in US air carriers, who don't seem to understand that air travel is a service industry, and to excel in a service industry, PEOPLE are most important to the customers. Specifically, having enough people: US airline employees are well-trained professionals too, but "corporate" consistently under-hires/deploys, which leaves employees juggling far too much at once, which degrades the service experience for the customer. Yeah, I get "the bottom line," but service industry customers will always go to businesses that offer better service. Ok, rant over. JAL is tops."

I have food allergy and tried to request for special meals but the option was not there under my eticket number as described in their website. They say the option may not be available because I purchased my ticket from 3rd party, not from JAL or it was code share flight. Very inconvenient. I had to skip 2 meals out of 3in leaving for Japan. I got very hungry at the end of the flight...."

Cons: "We were informed our flight was not to land in Haneda but at Narita. We specifically picked that flight pattern because of the ease of traveling from Hawaii to Haneda to Naha. We wouldn't have to drag two large suitcases and a rollaboard after checking out of customs and immigration very far. Same airport to land and depart. Well the arrival airport was changed to Narita $32.00 per person for Airport Limobus to Haneda. We get off at Haneda and are informed we cannot stay there and wait at the domestic airport for our 6:25 am flight to Naha. We had to load all 6 pieces of luggage on the shuttle bus and transfer to the international terminal because they close the domestic terminal at midnight. There was no hotel accommodations at the domestic airport as the hotel was booked two months in advance!!! We had to wait at the international airport terminal till 4:30 am when we then transferred back to the domestic terminal with our 6 pieces of luggage. Tell me how happy you'd be!!!"

After waiting for the customer service person to find out what the status was, she simply said there was scheduling issues. The best she could offer was a flight the next day. We lost a whole day of our vacation and lost a significant mount of money. Hawaiian offered no compensation and did not seem at all apologetic for canceling an entire flight at the last minute for "scheduling issues." We will do our best never to fly Hawaiian again. They clearly do not value their customers."

We paid for preferred seating for extra leg room. On 3of the 4 flights the preferred seating were regular seats with no extra leg room. It was deceitful to advertise those seats at preferred seating. I would not have wasted my money paying extra had I known what I was getting.
It was hard to hear the PA announcements for boarding. Maybe also post the info on the screen? Or allow the attendant to pull down his mask when speaking into the PA system?
Flight attendants were super chill and the flight was comfortable. They provide passengers with lots of bottles of water (two or more even); yay for hydration!

Delta's new boarding process is absolute chaos. More than half the plane had no seats assigned until 20 minutes before boarding, and the seats were displayed on a screen a good 25 feet away from the gate, meaning people had to constantly walk back and forth between the doorway and the screen. The gate agents were clearly overwhelmed. If this is how Delta is organized now, I won't be flying on them again."

Thank goodness for Delta Lounge (even if it was the one in PHL). Just snacks make this a poor option for many. I don't know what is up, but the USB charger on the two monitors didn't work and neither did the outlet between the seats. And I have two different sets of cables "just in case" and they're the 3-in-1 so I can try to charge multiple devices (Apple, Android and Samsung) but nothing worked."

Cons: "Flight was almost an hour late departing, bag is a carry on but storage too small to keep bag, then wifi didn't work the entire flight. Had to run to our connection since our layover time was taken up in Boise. If we had missed the flight, we would have been re-routed to another airport over 1 1/2 hrs away since ours closes. Next flight was not much better, oh and wifi did I t work on it also - last 3-4 delta flights I've taken have been late and didn't have working wifi - starting to think their system doesn't work at all - seriously going to take any other carrier but Delta going forward"

Advance seat reservation was $30 per leg and seat. (I paid only for the overnight eastbound flight; on the return I found enough seats available by online check-in just after it opened.) One overweight bag was $100. Considering these charges, Singapore Airlines is the better choice for FRA-JFK. Minor quibbles with the entertainment system: * Front-facing camera points very low. Would be nice to see other planes during taxi (not just their wheels). * New "live map" during flight added useless gimmicks (view of earth from space), removed data (altitude, speed, outside temperature)."

Breakfast, excellent omelet, and crew extremely attentive to our needs- offering 2 drinks instead of other airlines which just give one and makes you feel that is all you deserve."
