They obviously were not ready to board the plane which was difficult for some of the elderly now standing in line. I had a planned dinner in sacramento which was a main reason i took this long layover and due to leaving 2 hours late i missed the dinner which had to be canceled. This was very important to me. The 75$ discount given to me on a future flight is not going to replace the time off work and the dinner which will now have to wait for anither trip to the mainland."

We returned to the airport to pick it up because they could/would not guarantee that it would be delivered safely. The attendant said that it was there on another belt. NOT, because I actually checked before we left. Then, she didn't want to give us the Measly $50 voucher. Ugh, still upset a week later."

Cons: "Look every one experiances problems. It comes in the form of weather, mechanical or security issues that disrupt a flight in the form of delays. There is no surprise when this occurs. So when a three hour delay is thrust upon you and you have already given up your carry on and your assigned seats perhaps the recovery should have been less of a surprise. One pilot announcement, and offer of free loyalty points falls so short. No comp eat or drink coupons on the ground. Still got billed for food and wifi. Drinks were offered but ofcourse they ran out before the center of the AC was served. The recovery happens at the moment not in the next few days you will recieve an email with miles. Still haven't gotten any email after a week. I will fly anybody other then Alaska."

I ended up watching 12 episodes of Big Bang Theory because it was the only free thing to watch that wasn't LinkedIn videos or Disney, which really sucked. Comfort level wasn't any better than any of the other airlines and service was the same as well. I've heard good things about Virgin but my experience was just mediocre."

Although I was exhausted because I had a 8 hour layover in Manchester, it would have been nice to have a couple of entertainment options. On my flight on British Airways from New York to Gatwick, we had so many movie and series options. These things are important on a long flight, otherwise the flight becomes torturous because you run out of things to do. On this flight, we had no choices, only what was given to us to watch. This made my flight unbearable."

I flew basic economy and was treated better and had as much leg room as with “upgraded service” from another carrier with an American name. We preloaded, I had a broken leg, I was traveling with a special needs woman. We just reached our seats when other passengers were prodding us to sit so they could board no time to settle. Was told that only a certain a certain number of seats could access the in flight entertainment system at one time and "to keep trying" and "hopefully someone will drop off soon". In the end they acknowledged the issue and told all passengers to go online for compensation which they honored immediately."

When she came back to the counter, where I was still waiting, she started to talk to her coworker about chocolate and how great the crew was. She then turned to me and said, "can I help you?" She didn't even remember that she was in the middle of helping me! When I reminded her she was like "oh that's right" but didn't even apologize. The flight was delayed 2 hours which was pretty annoying too."

At LAX, our departure gate was only three gates from the arrival gate of our connecting flight, so no long trek through LAX. Seats on our 737-900 were tight and didn't recline far but, hey, United is the Wal-Mart of modern air travel. What do you expect?!"
