The ticket agent, the gate agent and the cabin crew all did nothing to make up for the fact that their system screwed up and stuck me in a cramped coach seat in the back of the plane for 11 hours-- TWICE! Beyond that, KLM must have one of the oldest fleets in the sky. Both ways LAX->AMS->LAX, I was on a 30-35 year old 747 with no wifi, no power and a ten-year-old entertainment system. Never again."

Cons: "Information on KLM website and flight status said 50 minutes delay and was never updated with the true status. 3 hours before we took off. KLM blamed the fog at Manchester but to be honest most other flights seemed unaffected. Put up in an IBIS hotel and fed substandard food and shitty hotel room with an Aircon unit that clunks into action every 30 seconds keeping me awake. It's external so I can't switch it off. Being given a 10 Euro voucher for food at the airport when most food and a drink will cost you 12 to 15 euros."
Pros: "Flight crew was pleasant and attentive. Seats were comfortable for economy as well. We were allowed to check in extra baggage for free at check in which really helped since we would be catching a connecting flight in Amsterdam"

So it's one thing that you have to cancel the flight because of fog; but rebooking us the next day on a flight through New York that doesn't exist, was way below the standard of care I would expect from any airline. Apparently, the NY to LAX flight that KLM booked us on, was only one leg of the flight to Sydney Australia; and according to some airline agreement, only Australian nationals are permitted to take that flight! Running around at JFK from terminal four, to terminal seven, to terminal eight, back to terminal four, to get a flight out, was a bit much considering how tired we were – not to mention hungry, since KLM neglected to provide the kosher meals we had requested with plenty of time – BOTH going to and returning from Europe."
Cons: "Taking off late caused me stress because I had transferring flight within less than two hours in transit originally. So we arrived later about 50 minutes so I had to manage my situation and find my next gate and be on time. And an other thing that I disliked was that I was allowed to have only one baggage which was very unusual for international flight between two countenances. And the crew was not polite enough so she made fun of my Cary-on. In short, I expected more from KLM which is famous for them being "Royal" but not acting as one of them."

They could not use the business lounge: when they arrived they were told that they needed to wait in front of the boarding gate. They waited two hours asking many times why they could not get their seats. They were ordered to stand by and wait to be called. Finally they insisted and they got two sits but not side by side. It was too late to use the business class lounge. What a shame. Food was so basic. Noodles overcooked with few veggies that all. Cabin attendants we're stressed and rude"

I was furious and speechless to witness such frank rude behavior and horrible customer service. I would like to think that United Airlines prides itself on better customer service than this. My wife and I have other choices when we fly and we will certainly think twice before we fly United Airlines again."

Pros: "I don't love to fly, so I wasn't thrilled about a 7 hour flight. Actually, the flight itself went well, good food (for an airplane), staff was VERY nice, and boarding was easy enough. My issue unfortunately the people sitting behind me with 2 kids under age 3-4 years old. One of the kids screamed and cried for probably close to 5 hours. I didn't sleep at all. At one point, he cried for a continuous 2 hours while he kicked my seat. I felt like the staff should have asked if they could help, maybe suggest walking him around, etc. The child must have had ear pain, he cried constantly. I felt so badly for him."
Pros: "The econmy class seat was just fine for a cross atlantic flight from Chicago to Paris and I am almost 60! Good entertainment and service. Seats were comfortable. Language was not a barrier. Good value because it was non-stop and a no hassle plane changing circus! Thanks."

Cons: "It wasn't a Lufthansa flight. Both our connecting and international flights were United. We specifically bought the ticket because we have had excellent exeriences on Lufthansa. We were dissapointed to find out we were actually flying United. Entertainment system was down so there were no movies the entire way and we were seated in an exit row where the seats did not recline. Extra leg space was nice but I would have declined the seat if I had know the chair wouln't recline."

Cons: "I asked the service attendant when I checked my lagage to change my seat to an aile seat. Even though there weren't anybody awaiting in line she could not be bothered, she got rid of me and asked me to do that at the gatw. By the time the gate opened there weren't any ailel seats. The service people are trained to be rude and treat all passagers as slaves. I would not fly United if I will have a different opinion."

Cons: "I confirmed my flight. I had a 3 hour delay in CHI. Having a 90 minute drive and an hour flight. I decided to skip my first flight and just head to the connecter in CHI. My whole flight was canceled as a result. The front desk guy was smug and extremly rude. The Tech support and this representative offered 2 different "Facts" on what could be done. As a result I was forced to pay for a hotel and miss a day of work. All because I wanted to spend extra time with my family. I have nothing possitive to say about your product and as a business owner Im embarrassed for you."
Cons: "I made cost effective arrangements to fly with a friend at the same flight of United. We checked in together but unfortunately we were given seperate seats. The staff in the plane were completely ignorant and not helpful AT ALL. I am very disappointed and definitely will prefer another airline in the future"

Pros: "I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable and nice this plane was. I had only ever flown United (see my below comment about codesharing) domestic, and the planes had always been old and kind of cramped. This international flight was much nicer!"
Cons: "I didn't like that this flight was code shared. I paid a bit more to fly Lufthansa, but disn't realize that it was going to be a United flight. I also thought the captain could have given a bit more information and updates during the flight."

Cons: "The only thing two things I'd change would be our plane arriving back the Kalamazoo on time. It wasn't even in Kalamazoo very long. The other thing I'd change would be having the two people helping with boarding speak more clearly on the intercom. I seriously couldn't understand much of what they were saying. Also, there's not much select for pop in your store."
