After two hours we were allowed to get off the plane, 20 minutes later back onto the plane, backed away from the gate and then pulled into a different gate and were told to get back off the plane. At this point we were given no info or direction but to go talk to special services if we want to re-book a different flight (sold out until at the earliest 8:15pm). After about an hour they announce they are re-boarding the original plane, takes another 45 minutes to board the plane, then we are told two separate issues caused this lengthy delay one was a filter in the bathroom and the other was a thermostat... seems like very basic standard maintenance issues that could have been avoided with routine checks. We were offered zero compensation, the trip took over 6 hours in all to fly from Philadelphia PA to Boston MA; a trip I could have driven in less time. I continue to have issues with American Airlines and "mechanical" delays, the last flight i was on From Charlotte to Baltimore was delayed an hour due to a strap in the cargo area. I don't understand the logic behind the decisions made to hold the full plane over 5 hours instead of taking a 45 minute flight, but I will say the crew was very apologetic and handled the situation well."

He remained calm throughout, knew exactly how to assess and handle the situation, even helping the spouse who was emotional given her husband's condition. He tended to the family the entire flight. He went above and beyond and I hope he is recognized for his outstanding and exemplary efforts ."

Consequence: no food, and no explanation from cabin crew about menu change. Food choices then were unappealing. Movie selections were mediocre."
Cons: "There was a delay after boarding / door closing. We just sat at the gate without explanation so we arrived late in Boston. I assume we were held for some reason by the tower but an update from the pilot would have been nice."

Cons: "While waiting at Newark on my layover, there was nobody at the gate to assist with seating assignment (which had not been assigned as my flight was oversold)... I didn't get my seat until stepping onto the plane/bridge. While there was nobody available to even tell us what was going on regarding seat assignments until 10 minutes before boarding, there were 4-6 United employees sitting in chairs right next to our gate chit chatting (being paid to do absolutely nothing), who couldn't even tell us what was going on (what a waste of resources)... Even the manager took 15 minutes to carefully set up the line walkways coming in to customer service... like it had never been done before and she had to reinvent the wheel."
Pros: "everyone was quick, efficient, and customer oriented. seats were comfortable and the snacks were nice. The crew members were exhausted, i'm sure, but they kept a smile on their faces and helped all of us feel comfortable and secure."
Cons: "The flight was rescheduled due to weather, it would have been nice to have a meal voucher so people were less aggravated and hungry. My biggest issue was that the T.V. screen was very bright and gave me a migraine. If there was a way to darken, or even shut it off, that would be much more pleasant."

No compensation for delay or the fact that there were no busses, trains or boats running in Boston at 2a.m. People had to try to get cabs or Ubers at a much higher expense. Will never take Spirit again."

Cons: "Spirit charges for every bag. So the total price ends up being the same as any other airline, possibly even more expensive. Carry on bag was $45 EACH WAY, which is awful. And they don't even offer free snacks. Probably won't be flying spirit anytime soon again."

Cons: "When I was trying to board the ticket counter tried to make me buy a ticket for my lap baby and I was not going to buy him a ticket. When another ticket counter person asked him to call the gate to tell them to wait for me he said he would and picked up the phone but then said he couldn't connect with them. He said to me "Good luck making your flight" but in a very sarcastic like "you're not going to make your flight" kind of way. I was very disappointed with their customer service."

What wasn't advertised (or was, in flight): for fifteen+ minutes the crew was selling a spirit credit card over the intercom. BLARING IT. It woke me up. Why sell more things where your prospective customers can't escape listening to the sales pitch? Terrible terrible business."

Cons: "2hrs late departing because of air traffic? I don't believe them. I saw a repair van on the tarmac. Seats are packed in VERY close and they don't recline. There's so little padding in the seat that you can feel the metal frame, so you're very uncomfortable. They sell everything they serve including water. There are no monitors so tv or movies are not even an option. Flight crew doesn't say good-bye, thank you or anything as you exit craft. I'm not sure what the attendants do other than offer to sell you water and tell you what you can and cannot do on their plane. They try to shame you into paying for your carry on and paying to book a seat, calling the seat they assign you "random" like they'll put you in the bathroom or out on the wing. When you get to the airport, you find the approved size for your included personal item is the size of your carry on. They don't check to see who paid for their carry on so only suckers paid. We will never ever fly Spirit!"
