Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Nothing really"
Pros: "The seats reclined at a good pitch and were very comfortable. The crew were friendly and service was good."
Cons: "I understand that on the night flight, they were trying to keep the lights up for dinner service, but it prevented my toddler from being able to sleep and thus made for a difficult rest of the journey."
Pros: "Nice crew"
Cons: "Comfort. Seats were very uncomfortable with absolutely NO leg room. I fly a lot and this was one of the WORST leg room experiences I had."
Pros: "Excellent airline"
Cons: "The business seats could have been wider. I have sat on business class other airlines and the seat was a bit wider but overall still great experience"
Pros: "The crew was amazing and effiecent. Had weather delays, bag got left, but got it the next day."
Pros: "crew was nice"
Cons: "First time flying with a partner through Delta, so they stuck us on a Virgin Atlantic flight meaning I didn't get my free Delta check in bag (a fee of $60 each way) when I have gotten it every other flight I have ever taken with them. It was also 2 whole hours late in boarding."
Cons: "Good overall"
Pros: "Sharp good atention in counter"
Pros: "They didn't serve any refreshments or even water"
Pros: "- Presence of entire box sets of some TV shows was a nice touch that I made good use of."
Cons: "- EVERY damn movie is prefaced by 4 minutes of ads. - The touchscreens (at least in economy) are slow resistive screens that are horrible for fine control gestures (like slightly changing the volume or position)"
Pros: "Food and snacks!!!!!"
Pros: "The ground staff was on top of it and the boarding process was smooth, but the cabin crew was brilliant. I’ve never had such pleasant service on a western airline. Well done. Entertainment system is top-notch, and the food was acceptable."
Cons: "The booking process and paying for luggage is disappointing. Plus, I paid a $90 upgrade and just moved up two rows in the same section. Sneaky."
Pros: "The food was okay"
Cons: "The gate was Jane without announcement"
Pros: "The crew was professional, responsive and friendly."
Cons: "The following experience goes down in history as the worst ever because: we had a 3.5 year old child, and mom and dad seated directly in front of our row. The couple ignored the instructions to move seats forward during meals making it impossible to eat. They placed their luggage in the overhead compartment belonging to both rows, which wasn't a problem if they hadn't proceeded to open and close the compartment every 20 minutes. The 300 pd dad repeatedly stepped on my broken toe while reaching for his luggage, while rattling around and disturbing sleeping passengers. And, sadly the child repeatedly threw temper tantrums without any care or effort of intervention from the parents. In short, they terrorized the surrounding travellers. In contrast, my outbound flight, also had a family seated in the row directly in front. This family was the antithesis, considerate and respectful of their fellow passengers. Susan Laws"
Pros: "Everything about my flights on Virgin Atlantic was amazing. The plane was new and comfortable, the seats seemed to recline more than in other airplane I have been. The entertainment was good with a wide selection of movies and TV shows. The crew was incredibly nice and helpful and I had a really pleasant time talking with them. On the airport team side I can also say they were extremely helpful as I missed my flight and they promptly rebooked me on the next one 3h later, free of charge. I think the stress of missing a flight was completely deflected by the help of the Virgin Atlantic crew at the desk so thank you for that!"
Cons: "The only thing I would improve is the main dish in the meal. I loved all the small sides like the Boursin and crackers but I found the main meal a little bland l."
Cons: "Everything incl customer service at the airport"
Pros: "Great, friendly, professional crew, clean comfortable plane. Loved that full dinner and baggage and wine was included in an economy class overnight from DC to London as well as breakfast. Best flight in a long time, will definitely fly again."
Cons: "the tv screen's touch screen capabilities could use an upgrade, it was a hassle to navigate, not very sensitive to touch."
Pros: "Entertainment Meal service and quality"
Pros: "Our ticket was canceled apparently due to an error by the airline. Very unhappy about that. The airline couldn't care less."
Pros: "love the lounge and easy check in and boarding, great attendants and smooth trip"
Cons: "would be nice if lounge was open earlier - arrived for 8:30am flight and had to wait around in freezing cold terminal with no coffee for an hour"
Pros: "Flew virgin after long time and kind of disappointment with comfortable seats. seats space is tight and legs space as well with some box under the seat."
Cons: "seat comfortable and let space"
Cons: "You charged me for a checked bag. This wasn't made clear when I booked the flight."
Pros: "I loved how the airline crew were very accommodating. This was an awesome experience. A+++"
Cons: "I have no complaints."
Cons: "I never expect airline food to be any good but I’m always hoping it’s edible. This was not the case, as the egg breakfast made me physically ill."
Pros: "The crew were very polite and looked smart, I didn’t find them very personable at all though. The entertainment system is fantastic and my meal was ok I guess, I requested the low fat meal, probably should’ve just had the normal one."
Cons: "The seats are not very comfortable, very hard and textured seats that just don’t feel nice at all especially on a long flight. I weight about 11 stone (154 pounds) and even I felt like I was taking up a lot of room in my seat."
Pros: "So much food!! They kept bringing food out the whole flight..The seats were great. It was a very comfortable flight"
Cons: "no complaints whatsoever!"
Cons: "Once In London, we were told by British Airways that was flying us to Nice that Delta had “lost” our infant electronic ticket - It took 1.5h to get new ticket reissued! We missed our connection and had to wait 3 more hours for the next flight - We were somewhat lucky as multiple flights were delayed/cancelled that day - I will avoid using Virgin Atlantic in the future as they need Delta and British operate their flights and this makes it prone to issues like that"
Pros: "Francesca was the flight attende t that I had most the most interactions with was very friendly and warm."
Pros: "The flight crew from the mel to lax route were excellent. One was especially attentive to my 2 toddlers and gave me a bit of a break, something that has NEVER happened in over 40 flights traveling with children."
Cons: "I think something was broken in our section (mel to lax) as it was uncomfortably hot and the flight crew tried to get it cooler but could not. I’ve never experienced a flight that was too hot, usually the opposite. It was stifling."
Pros: "The crew was the best part of my experience, super nice and accomodating"
Cons: "the wifi had subpar performance"
Cons: "Service is super fast"
Pros: "Everything from boarding to disembarking went very smoothly. Flight was on time, seats were comfortable and crew was friendly and accommodating."
Cons: "During my flight from LAX to LHR I requested (pre-booked) a special meal (Asian Vegetarian). During the flight I was told there was no such request in their records and therefore I had to stay hungry for the entire duration of the flight. During my return flight from LHR to LAX the in flight entertainment system for my seat was not functional. I requested it to be reset several times and in spite of the hostess resetting it several times, it did not function. I had to stay without an entertainment system during the entire flight. This was my first time travel with Virgin Atlantic. I may never fly Virgin Atlantic again."
Pros: "Leg room in economy was good. Staff very professional and made a long flight bearable."
Cons: "At check in the name on my reservation read Ron, not Ronald which is on my passport. The second agent I was referred to was unpleasant and charging $100. Had same problem out of Seoul but there was no charge for the ticket change. My interaction with the second agent left a very bad taste in my mouth."
Pros: "Smooth flight"
Cons: "My economy window seat was just too cramped for a big guy on a nine hour flight"
Pros: "Aisle/window seating!"
Cons: "My entertainment unit did not work. I was graciously offered an iPad, but declined, however, the picture quality at my son's seat was also iffy. Both my long-haul flights had poor signage for toilets."
Pros: "Friendly, helpful, efficient staff on the ground & in the air. Great selection of movies, tv, music for each person flying. Comfortable flight. Great beverage & food choices."
Pros: "1st class, what's not to like?"
Pros: "comfort, entertainment, food"
Pros: "From check in to landing in London, the gracious, helpful crew impressed us with their attitude and service"
Cons: "Sound didn't work on some of the entertainment choices"
Pros: "airline staff was helpful, friendly and accommodating from ticket check in to flight staff."
Cons: "More than one hour delated"
Pros: "The crew of the flight were very sweet and helpful"
Cons: "When I bought my ticket I wasent informed that I needed a return ticket out of New Zealand before entering so I had to buy one super last minute and almost missed my flight"
Cons: "For an international flight, the plane was too small, cramped and uncomfortable. Food had to be purchased. No entertainment what so ever. Previous I took a VA flight to Perth from Melbourne. Same distance, bigger plane, entertainment on seat backs and a meal. This flight soured me."
Pros: "The crew was great with updates. Checking in was a bit confusing though as not all the crew knew what was up. It was a very crowded day so it was bound to be a bit rough. Of my last four flights to London Virgin Atlantic was the best!"
Cons: "Heathrow was a bit confusing and it took a moment to get my bearings. The crew was a bit disorganized but that seemed to get solved quickly."
Pros: "Seat Legroom Comfort Food Service Crew ... amazing!!!"
Pros: "Very happy with everything"
Cons: "Air conditioning"
Pros: "I liked entertainment options on your phone but at the same time there was nowhere to plug your phone if it ran out of battery."
Cons: "The boarding was good but we did not depart o time which did not cause us to be on time to our destination. It was international flight for almost 4 hours and there was no foodie snacks serve. Only tea or coffee. For a international flight more than 2 hours you should offer something else, soda juices and a snack at the very least. I guess the reason why I am feeling this ways is because I flew with virgin a couple years back to London and was so impressed by he service and the airline and the great quality modern vibe. It was the W hotels of the airlines industry and this time I really want impressed."
