Pros: "The one good thing about this unexplained ordeal (the flight was delayed for 5 hours, causing me to miss my connection) was that, after a few hours of hearing nothing (no emails or texts from Delta), I finally saw some options for different flights pop up, so I was able to book a new flight without calling India. That agent said she couldn't give me a seat, but watch the monitor for my name for seat assignments, then come back. Why couldn't the first gate agent say that instead of giving me the runaround and wasting my time???"

In all those cases the cabin temperature was warmer than AA. I have to say as an exec plat, I wish AA would fix this issue. It is something that ER waiting rooms have adjusted and it has statistically shown to improve satisfaction scores."

Pros: "We boarded on time and we departed on time. We got into Chicago 30 minutes early. We recently acquired a AA credit card and we got 2 checked bags free and priority boarding (Group 5). In today's world your need priority boarding of some sort on AA or you risk not being able to store you bags in the overhead and may have to get it checked free to your final destination. Also, one of our checked bags had a painting in it that we purchased and the bag and painting arrived unharmed. Good job by AA baggage handlers."

In short, AA left me stranded in a strange city at midnight with no accommodation and no luggage. It was 18 degrees and I was in t-shirt and shorts. What a memory."

They would not work with me at all and cx my whole booking. When I tried to talk to them on the phone the man could not speak very good English and was not making any since at all. I let him talk to the British Airlines counter manager and the manager tried to explain that he would have to rebook us that he could not. Air.com was horrible and never helped us out at all. They should not be in business . I paid them of course months ago and I was just out the 1400.00 dollars. British Airlines was amazed that they did nothing to help us out."

( I specifically flew into lax for the game that I spent $100 on tickets for) well I arrived to LAS at 5am by 515am I received my first notification that my flight wouldn't be leaving until 1030am.... I was a little annoyed but hey I'm still going to make it to my game, ( I just needed to let my ride know who's lives 3 hours away from LA that my flight was going to be 3 hours late not to rush) well about an hour later I got another notification that my flight was now being pushed back to 230pm.... at this point I have no choice but to look for another flight.... I found another flight on Southwest leaving Las at 1210pm arriving in lax at 120pm... perfect I can still make my game... That flight was boarding on time... ran into some hiccups on the runway... arrive to lax at 130pm... not a problem can still make my game... sat on the runway at lax until 335.... needless to say I missed the game... while in the air I received another text that my American airline flights was now pushed back to 530pm... mind you my day started at 5am on Las Vegas to catch a flight out at 720am.... Now had I not found that other flight I would have been sitting around Vegas airport for over 12 hours.... I was not a happy flier today, specially because the actual flight is normally no more than 45 minutes start to finish... I could have rented a car and drove... would have been cheaper and I would have made it to my game ...."

Cons: "The flight was delayed after some passengers began boarding. The boarding process was also all over the place. When i finally got on the plane, the seats were very uncomfortable and I felt like a sardine being crammed into a small tin. the crew was at best, mediocre and boring. The in flight snack was two crappy pieces of cookie? Or was that a cracker? I did not eat it. The entertainment was one shared screen that I did not have a headset for, nor was I offered a headset, free or for a fee. The screen in front of me was too close and the screen behind that was further away and barely able to see it. I choose not to watch it for these reasons. The landing was rough at the end, everyone jolted forward when we hit the ground."

The wheel chair attendant who initially took me to my gate in Las Vegas was very friendly, and helpful, and she did everything she could possibly have done, short of leaving another passenger to come take care of me, which wouldn't have been right. I was there when she called her supervisor and advised him/her of my location and of my needs and she received confirmation. Was not her fault."
Cons: "I checked in with American and a wheel chair attendant assisted me to my gate. My wheel chair needed charged and I was two hours early, so the attendant sat me at the charging station because there were no outlets in the gate area. She contacted her supervisor to advise of my location and that I would need assistance. Nobody came for me. I gathered my things the best I could and struggled to get to the gate to get attitude from the gate agent, telling me the wheel chair attendant was there looking for me. What ever happen to using a paging system when you know the passenger who is disabled checked in two hours earlier? Had someone paged, maybe I could have flagged their attention, or maybe they could have called the company in charge of handling their wheel chair attendance and would have known where I could be located. Either way, the attitude is uncalled for, especially when I apologized and stated that the wheel chair attendant was expected to help me."

I old the flight attendant that I needed help stowing my backpack in the overhead bin, not because it was that heavy or big, but because the previous flight had been 5 hrs long and after being stuck in the middle seat my back was killing me and lifting my bag over my head would have triggered a muscle spasm. I have a back condition and they refused to help me. She would not even hear me out and insisted on me to check my bag, which I refused to because my laptop and tablet were in there without propper padding to protect them. The same flight attendant had already yelled at a passanger and was making a scene that made several other passengers uncomfortable. i understand the flight was full and they were delayed enough, but the airline clients should not have to pay for the airline's mistakes."

So, when we went to check in and I was told I would have to pay $50 for my mother's carry on, it was livid! Also, are you serious with the $5 fee to print a boarding pass? I will NEVER fly with Allegiant Air again. That is absolutely unacceptable. I will say that the staff was pleasant but the airline is inept and inefficient. The reason I will never fly this airline again because of what a rip off the fees are. Allegiant Air, you should be ashamed of yourself."

The flight out was delayed approximately one hour various mechanics coming on and off plane until finally we were able to leave."

De-planing was a bit chaotic, I don't think many of these people fly regularly, and were having some serious heebie-jeebies at their bags being in an overhead compartment not immediately above their head. So before anyone was mobile or doors were open, there were large pieces of luggage being passed around through really crowded spaces. Chill, people. The baggage carousel at the new terminal was poorly designed, shutting down when people went to pick up their bags. It took awhile to get our bags, and we were scolded by the staff for tripping some sensor. I don't know what universe y'all live in, but in this one, you have to move close to the carousel to lift your bag. So the sensor tripped like three times and people were unhappy."
Pros: "Having to bug hotel staff to make sure to print boarding passes to avoid a $5 charge for each...having to pay for carry-on bags in advance and then unstuff them in the cramped aisles while boarding because the overhead compartments were too small...flight delays on each leg of the trip...staff that seemed lobotomized...seats that have a bar jamming into your lower back and don't recline.... etc., etc, etc, etc, Plus stupid coporate name and a logo that's hard on the eyes! ALLEGIANT SUCKS from its nose to its tail fin."

There is no variety, I had no idea what I was getting and the offerings they did have felt very restricted. Leg room was atrocious. Especially because we had no overhead room to store our backpacks which meant we had to place it under the chair in front of us. I am relatively tall so I wanted to stretch out my feet under the chair in front of me but they had to straddle my fat backpack and the gentleman who sat in front of me was very large and he kept kicking and hitting my feet underneath his chair."

I'm so very appreciative of the flight because I could enjoy stretching my legs out and enjoying a comfortable seat. The very attentive crew allowed me opportunity to quench my thirst with countless glasses of water and to watch and keep up with my sports programming throughout the entire flight. Now it will be extremely hard to ever fly coach again. I have flown United the last couple of summers and I have been nothing but thrilled with their service and their staff. Moving forward United would be the only airline that I would care to fly. Thank you for everything and thank you for my safe travels!"

On my return The Spirit website did not indicate gate changes as the gate changes. I prechecked this time, 3 hours early and the plane departed 40 min before departure. The screens at kiosk did not indicate changes to flight time or gate change. I wasn’t even called!!! I missed my flight. The staff gave no help for hotel or shuttle. I was to sleep 12 hours for n Next plane and my bag was on first plane. My original flight of $249 to Vegas was $349. Plus hotel 129 plus $40 for extra night stay and Uber."

Then the plane was sitting in 22 when I noticed that the time to depart was in 10 min. I got up and walked over to the desk. To only be told that oh that plane departed 10 min ago. Depated???? It's still sitting there at the gate. I was then told oh it switched over to gate 25. The wasn't an announcement at all. For that so I missed my flight and was sitting 20 ft from the posted gate of 22 and it was switched from 22 to 21. Them back to 22 and then flew out of 25"

Cons: "Spirit emailed me 12 hours before my flight telling me the flight had been cancelled. No call, just an email - and it was sent after 8pm, so it was lucky that I was checking my email that night. I called and they said they wouldn't be able to get me on another flight out until a day and a half after my original flight, so I ended up just cancelling the flight entirely and buying one on another airline. It took me 2 phone calls (2.5 hours each) to get Spirit to issue a full refund. The worst part? The flight wasn't cancelled. I found out from someone that had been on an earlier Spirit flight that was also cancelled that I had been booted off the flight so that they could rebook people from their flight. I looked on Spirit's site and sure enough the flight had reappeared and was accepting reservations. Absolutely unacceptable to lie to your customers and just boot them off of flights where they had paid for checked bags and seats in favor of other customers."

Very poor. Nothing is more valuable than time that gets wasted without reasonable cause. I remember a great quote once when I worked in the auto industry that says " It is easy to loose a customer, but its ten times harder if not impossible to win that customer back.""

Cons: "This was my first trip with this airline and I will never fly with this airline again. I blame Kayak for not pre warned me for deceptive practices of this airline. First, they bring their prices down to get you to fly with them . Then they charge you $50 for any luggage is checked. The limit for luggage weight is 40Lb versus 50 Lb in other airlines. As the result I was charged extra $ for 10 Lb over the limits. I had a small carry on and I was charged for $57 for that as well. At the end for one hour flight fro Las Vegas to LaX, I was charged all these extras which cost me significant $ above the purchase price of one way ticket from your web side. I did not know any of these until I had to deal with the agent. By the way, I could not use their self check in machine, and they charge me $10 more. And they did not have adequate staff at the gate and three sets of passenger had to cut in front of me.!! Total Disaster"

We may have saved slightly on the price of the flight, but easily made up the deficit in the cost of bringing a bag in the flight. While paying the $55 to carry on a bag the kiosk informed me that I could have saved money if I had done this online earlier. I had actually tried to do this earlier, but after 4 failed attempts to create an online profile (required) to check into your flight, I gave up. This airline also doesn't email you check in information as every other airline will. The plane itself, while successfully and safely flying us home, was old, very noisy and very bare bones as if it was a hand me down from another airline. Not knowing I'd have to pay an additional fee for something as simple as water, I sat through the flight without a beverage, which isn't horrible just annoying when the airline's main selling point is that it is less expensive than its competitors. in the future I'd rather pay more from the start."
Pros: "Even though every flight I've taken with them has been delayed by an hour, they are fast to get everyone on board and quick to take off. I did like how they slowly came up with the lights upon landing I stead of abruptly turning them on like other airlines."

The seats were extremely uncomfortable, the trays are positioned too low, so they aren't good to rest on and the chairs don't recline. Both flights were extremely cold, delayed by an hour and overbooked so they were having difficulties seating. I wouldn't suggest using spirit unless you are on a quick flight [under 1 hour and a half] for a short trip that only necessitates a personal bag."

Crew were very friendly, flight was easy as it could be."
Cons: "The two women at bag check. I *never* check bags, and I *always* use kiosks to acquire my boarding ticket. Tonight, though, I tried three kiosks and none of them worked. Because I was in a hurry I dashed over to bag check (there was no line) to find two young women chatting away. Fair enough, they don't have any customers. But now they do. I stood there for a couple seconds then asked one of them to please help me get my boarding ticket. She looked at me like I was being rude or putting her out for asking her to do her job. She told me to use a kiosk. I explained that I'd already tried and again asked her to help me. The other girl wasn't quite as rude but neither one of them seem to have the slightest interest in customer service, which is weird, because that's their job description. Anyway, I hope both of them walked into an out-of-service automatic door tonight."
Cons: "My $318 flight turned into a $500 flight. I will never fly Spirit again! Also, they changed our gate 3 times and as a result our luggage didn't leave with us. It came in on a different flight the next day. I paid $50 so they could lose my luggage. Also, check in was really slow! No communication, I stood in line for 15 minutes only to hear someone say something about a cancelled flight, so I asked if this was a "make up" flight. And it was, no notice or signs or anything. I almost missed my flight."

Cons: "Where do I even start. First off, everyone who does regularly fly Spirit (which is sad), knows that it gives you the absolute bare minimum. It has uncomfortable air crafts, no entertainment available whatsoever, makes you pay for carry-ons, makes you pay excessively for checked bags, makes you pay to pre-select where you're sitting on the flight (so good luck if you're flying with someone), makes you pay for ANY snack/drink at all on the flight, even water! So as "cheap" and amazing of a deal as Spirit SEEMS to be, it really isn't all that cheap after you pay all these additional fees. But all of that you already know if you fly Spirit. What you may not realize is how horribly unorganized they are. My flight TO my destination initially (when we actually had the flight) got delayed three times, and drastically by hours. Our flight home (the one I'm technically supposed to be reviewing right now) was delayed, delayed, and then completely cancelled. Completely cancelled. The reason? "Construction." Excuse me, Spirit, but airports do not have surprise construction. If construction was inhibiting you from landing your planes, you would have known that far in advance. Also, sure they reimbursed us, but that's it. No vouchers, no coupons, no extra money to put towards a replacement flight. In order to leave, we had to pay HUNDREDS of extra dollars for a different flight, especially since Spirit had told us so late after delaying us so many times and the only flights that night were booked or literally triple the price of our initial flight. It was horrible and so stressful. Would never recommend Spirit to even my worst enemy."
Pros: "I left the plane and vowed never to travel with them again. I travel a lot and they are the worst in terms of addons, trying to penalize by price, (not cheap) unless you have no reason to take luggage (like a meeting where you need a change of clothes There "basic" is cheap if you need nothing else, but when you start checking luggage at $50 a suitcase a round trip of $100 any bargain is soon gone. And some of the staff (the stewardess outbound from Baltimore is Ok. But they changed planes and the bigger seat I paid for was not available. Getting a refund required checking several times. Most said they couldn't do it. The final person in Baltimore, was "lounging: against the counter". Grabbed by ticket ungraciously. Was clearly irritated that I had a refund provlem that she "had" to deal with. No smile, NO NO For the uninitiated flyer they may work. If you don't know what else is available at what price and if you read there advertising and treat riding with the like voting for trump (believing all untruths) OK. Just not for me who is an experienced flyer. I had heard Spirit was bad from others who said they would never ride with them again. But I gave them one chance--they blew it. Anne"

Cons: "Flight attendants were not helpful. Seats were uncomfortable, and patchwork, as in they rarely matched (I feel as though due to the rough nature of most of the flight, it is possible this older plane had older parts on the body and elsewhere). They did not know how to deal properly with a drunk and disorderly passenger who threw up all over the window, seat, and floor seconds before take off; flight had to be delayed for removal of the passenger and clean up (the cleaning crew was the only good thing), but the flight from Las Vegas to Baltimore (red eye) had an odor of leftover vomit and bleach. I sat next to this area and there was no option given to me to move from that seat (meanwhile, they allowed people behind me who were not impacted to move to open seats in the front of the plane). NEVER FLY THIS AIRLINE!!! SPEND YOUR MONEY ON A MORE REPUTABLE AIRLINE!!!"
Cons: "I chose this airline because it had the lowest cost....I thought. Then when I went to check-in online I discovered that I would have to pay extra for my seat. Not just preferential seating, but any seat. And since I didn't check in until a few hours before boarding the only options left were $18 seats. The airline website said that I didn't have to pay for seats and they'd assign them when I got to the airport, but there was no guarantee I'd sit next to my husband. Will never fly this airline again for that reason."

Cons: "Not only would i NEVER reccomend Spirit. I will be writing about how highly UN satisfied i wa with Spirit and i will HIGHLY discourage anyone of my readers and listeners on air to ever use Spirit. My first encounter was in Baltimore when the woman behind the counter argued with me until i missed my flight. Then when i explained i lost my credit card and HAD to get on the very next flight ( that she made me miss being rude and disrepectful ) i called my husband so he coudl give her our credit card toi book the next flight. She purposefully sat the phone down and waited on others. Then she let him give her all of his information and said Oh Well you have to call reservations. By the time he got through i missed that fligth too. I did not use Spirit that day ! Coming back theer was again a woman working for Spirit at the airport who again was rude and ignorant. She argued with me that i could not take my purse and my carry on bag on to the plane. I have been traveling business for over twenty five years. YES I CAN. AND I DID. Howevr not before she laid her hands on me. When i tried to walk away from her combative behavior. She grabbed my arm. NEVER will i ever say a nice word about Spirit. NEVER will i not try to telkl as many people as possible about the horrible people you have representing your company. They are the First Voice. Cons: "What I didn't like is that after I bought the ticket, I learned that I had to pay for a seat, I had to pay for checked bags of course, and I had to pay for carry on bags. What!?! About $150 for one checked and one carry on both ways.....which means I didn't really save any money on this "cheaper" flight. One more kicker is that I travel using my TSA number and SPIRIT airlines doesn't have an agreement with the TSA for their travelers to use pre-check. Wow. i wished someone had pointed out all the extra fares and fees"
Cons: "Horrible Horrible airlines. First airline that I will make it a point to never fly again. They obviously are nickle and dime-ing everything, but more more predatory than that. Was warned by many on how to avoid this, but still ended up with $140 in extra fees and spent 30 mins on the phone to a foreign customer service line. Spirit changed the gate 20 minutes before boarding but kept the electronic signage same, so people arriving on time waiting at the original gate and missed their flight. With some repeated experience you may be able to to learn minimize you losses but honestly it is not worth this experience again. And if you search online, you will notice that this is a common experience with Spirit."

Cons: "First, the cancelled my flight and didn't contact me. I found out because I was checking the flight status. When I called them, they gave me 2 options: get a refund or flying on the next day. I had book a hotel for that night and had plans for early morning, so I got a refund. Before deciding that, I asked if they could put me in another flight, as I had seen that other companies were flying to my destination. They said "no, because the flight was cancelled due to weather". The weather was bad in Florida, and I was leaving from Baltimore (Maryland) to Las Vegas. My route didn't have anything to do with the weather. I know the plane that was going to take me to Las Vegas was stuck in Miami, but still, that's not my problem. If I was flying to or from a place with bad weather, I would be the first to cancel the trip. The weather didn't have anything to do with me. They gave me that excuse just because they didn't have another plane to fly to Las Vegas. Then, I got a refund and bought tickets from another company, and I spent 200 dollars more (per person, total of 400 dollars). If there were other companies flying the route I wanted, why Spirit couldn't? Anyway, that was the first bad impression. The second was on my way back home. This flight was also through Spirit. Back in September, when I booked the original flight, I saw they charged for carryon luggage (which is outrageous, in my opinion). I paid the fee to be able to bring a carry on with me. However, when this flight was cancelled and I booked the other one, I didn't see anywhere saying that I would pay for carry-on. Also, since the price was so much more expensive than before, I assumed carry on was included. To my surprise, when I got to the airport, it wasn't. I explained everything I wrote here to the attendant and to the manager, and none of them wanted to waive this fee. I explained how Spirit made my trip so stressful, and asked if they could understand that. No, they couldn't, or wouldn't. In the end, after a long discussion, they gave me a 25% discount in the carry on fee. As the cherry on top: there was only one person taking care of boarding, the flight attendant didn't care to explain the procedure for people in the exit row, I didn't see any food or drinks being served (though they passed 5 or 6 times with a garbage bag for trash... And no one had trash to trow away... It's a possibility that I slept, but it's odd anyway), and finally, their seats didn't recline (for an overnight flight, that's no joke). As I said in the beginning, I won't fly Spirit again, ever, no matter how much cheaper their tickets are."

Cons: "Now for the my feed back, Spirit airlines yes offers the best rate on some of your flights because both of your inbound and outbound flights were FULL so I would say 60% of your customers were happy, but not to offer your passengers a cup of water is crazy. You make lite of some of the things you do because of your low cost. but its about customer service. Seats don't recline? Why so that you can get more passengers on a plane, no entertainment, and half of a tray table. It sounds like its all about the money on your end of the business not about the customers.. Really its ridicules the cost for EVERYTHING! boarding pass, cut in line, seats that don't recline, oh and carry on bags.. I just think as a BIG CORPORATION you could do better for your customers. So hopefully you will take some of these things into consideration. I think about how your passengers feel. Top it all off had to wait exactly ONE HOUR TO RETRIEVE YOUR BAGS..."
Cons: "The staff was rude from check-in to on the plane. The charge for my suitcase and weight of bag was ridiculous and never have I ever paid that much for a suitcase. My bag came back broken and open and I am missing few things from that pocket. I am very disatisfied with your team and my customer service and extra fees. I will never fly your airline again and could have definitely flown cheaper with a different airline. I believe you should put in bigger and bold type that people can not include purse as carry on and backpack because I had to put my purse in my bag to check it which meant my bag weighed more costing more. My flight was more than an international flight which is absurd. Your website should disclose that information more clear."
Cons: "Everything! Staff and crew delivered the worst customer experience of my life on any flight I have ever taken. They looked like they hated being there. The staff at the front desk was rude and not helpful at all when I printed my boarding pass. The crew was not welcoming and did not greet anybody. The seats were hard leather, did not recline, and were sticky. The flight was extremely bumpy and felt like a roller coster. It made me feel sick and I almost thought we were not going to make it back home at one point. There was no food and no entertainment. My flight was delayed for 1 hour, and they notified me a day in advanced. They couldn't have fixed the issue in 24 hours? I'm never flying SPIRIT airlines again!!!!"
Pros: "I am Physian, I arrived at Oakland airport at 1pm for my flight at 1:47pm, I could not print my boarding pass because of a stupid policy that states 45 minutes is the cut off. After a humble plea to the staff who were really sooooo rude especially the supervisor Maria, they told me there is nothing they could do. I was so disappointed cos I was meant to be on call. I had to but a last minute one way ticket with south west that was boarding in 25 minutes. ...experience was like night and day, better and more courteous staff. Anyway,I will never fly Spirit again. It's not worth it."
Cons: "Spirit is a low cost, low class airline that works only in a situation where no other carriers can be used. The front desk staff are so-so and the internet website never works correctly. Their IT department needs fired and the website needs completely redone. Patience when working with this airline is very necessary as you encounter many frustrating roadblocks. Seats are so close together that the other passenger is all over you. If the adjoining seat has a larger passenger as in my case, this passenger will make your flight absolutely miserable."
Pros: "I fly Spirit when I need a ticket within 10 days because the price is always the cheapest."
Cons: "On this flight, I received an email saying the plane was delayed. When I got my boarding pass at the airport, it had the original time with no delay, so I checked the departure screen and it said delayed. The gate also said delayed BUT they were loading the plane at the original time. Most of us get on the plane before the door closed but we were unloaded back to the gate after 20 min because the plane engine had an error light that wouldn't turn off. It ended up being delayed 1.5hr. These things happen but it just makes the uncomfortable Spirit flight (I'm 6'3" and don't fit in the Spirit seats very well) that much worse. I didn't buy food or entertainment so those star ratings are not applicable to me."

Cons: "The bathrooms still didn't work even though it was a new plane. The seats didn't recline and there wasn't even a tray to put your things on. Not that we could get a complimentary beverage anyway. I had to charge a $3 Dixie cup of water. What a waste. Oh and they don't have barf bags, so don't be alarmed when someone throws up in the aisle. And when they do, because someone did on my flight, don't expect the flight attendants to know what to do - there isn't a protocol. They dumped coffee grounds on it and just left it there because they didn't have anything to clean it up with. We flew our entire redeye with the lights on with no bathrooms in seats that didn't recline, nauseated from the smell but too broke from all the other fees to be able to afford a drink. This airline is a ripoff."
Pros: "The best part was the low fare I found through kayak for a one-way trip from Vegas to San Diego."
Cons: "I didn't like the people sitting behind me and the older gentleman flight attendant had a sense of humor that was a bit off-putting for me personally. Maybe others enjoyed it, but not my cup of tea! The flight was initially delayed upon arrival by at least 30 - 40 minutes. No assistance to be found at the gate. Then an additional 20 or so minutes delay after all had been seated for two passengers, one of whom could barely walk straight. These two kept the entire plane waiting only to get off before take off. REALLY?? What a cluster. Will not be flying Spirit again."
Cons: "My return flight ticket was cancelled because I did not take the initial flight to Las Vegas. I booked a different leaving flight from Boston because of a job interview and when I showed at the airport to make my return flight booked through Kayak on Spirit , I found out my ticket was cancelled. I was forced to purchase another ticket from another airline. This was concerning since Kayak sent me a reminder about my flight to tell me the flight time had changed. Horrible Customer service at Spirit. The guy i spoke with at the customer service counter said it was not his problem and walked away."
Cons: "I had never flown spirit before and I will never fly with them again. First off the pricing they advertise is completely misleading. I purchased my ticket thinking I was saving some money compared to other airlines to only find out that they slap you with a million other fees. You need to pay to bring a carry on, you need to pay for non-alcoholic beverages even water. By the time all of these added up and I was in the middle of my flight sitting in not to mention the most uncomfortable seats with no leg room and no ability to recline for over 5 hours, the total cost was equal to if not greater a flight on my usual go to airlines, American/US."

Cons: "Their customer service is horrible and virtually nonexistent. They charge for everything including water. I boarded a plane scheduled to take off at 1:30 from Las Vegas. The plan pulled out to the runway and sat there for two hours while maintanence attempted to fix the broken emergency exit lights. After waiting for two hours on the runway the plane proceeded back to the gate. Where we say on the plane for another hour, while the crew constantly reassured us the problem would be fix momentarily. During this time the air conditioning was turned off in order to reboot the whole computer system and being in Vegas the cabin got very hot. I got up and asked the flight attendant and she refused to give me a sip of water. After that hour we were taken off the plane and forced to wait for another hour and a half with only one customer service agent to address passenger's questions. The only answer she could us was "I don't know any details I am just the middle man". Eventually the plane arrived in San Diego 5 hours late. By that time I had already missed the ceremony of a wedding in which I was a groomsman. I got off the plane and rushed to get my bag from the baggage claim only to find that my bag was not there. I went to the spirit help desk in San Diego and nobody was available. So I called spirit customer service in Las Vegas 3 times in a row before a human answered. I was told there was a mix up and my bag was left in Las Vegas. After the whole ordeal of the delayed flight and missing bag. All I was offered was a $50 voucher good towards a spirit airlines. I refused the offer as I would NEVER fly spirit even for free."
Cons: "Since I ordered through kayak I wasn't allowed to add additional bags. This cost me quite a bit more money. Then I called prior to online booking and the customer service agent was horrible. Deceived me into to pay more money for bags. She was also very rude and not helpful at all. This was a horrible experience. I am not even going into the flight. I was seated next to someone that was probably close to 400 pounds. He spent most of the time in my seat. Now I am sympathetic to obese people but Spirit should have placed him in one of the two seater rows or something like that. It was an absolute miserable experience."

But at that point I was charged extra due to the delay and needing to have things handled by a counter person. Also had trouble getting my boarding pass printed. The web site kept circling back to the same "Print your boarding pass" page. Tried calling customer service. Was routed through a maze of choices that never offered talking to an actual person. Finally found a way to trick the system and couldn't understand the accent. Will never fly Spirit again if there is any other choice. Hassles are not worth the potential cost savings."
Pros: "There was nothing enjoyable about my return flight."
Cons: "We boarded 2 hours late. When I would ask the customer service representative at the gate how much longer I would get an attitude. When we actually boarded the flight attendant was rude and pushy. They were more worried about getting your other spirit employees on board first ( non working employees that were just hitching a ride). I asked three times for a water when we took off(still waiting on it). Whomever controls the air conditioner on board had it way too high. As everyone around me was sweating. I and people around me asked several times regarding this. So for a 4 hour long flight it was not enjoyable at all."
Cons: "This trip was lousy. The ticket taker called everyone up to board 45 minutes early and the plane wasn't ready to board. The on board process was lacking in courtesy. The seats are WAY too narrow. I had an aisle seat and the stewardess knocked me in the head every time she passed which was over 30 times. The pilot announcements left me concerned for my safety. The flight attendants were required to yell annoying advertisements for 15 minutes even though the flight is only 75 minutes. And some weird teen sitting behind me kept putting his head between his knees and head butting the back of my chair. Flight crew couldn't care less. The best part of the flight was getting OFF!"

Cons: "This company is the worst from trying to check in online and having to become and frequent flyer just to be able to check in for my flight been trying to get a seat next to my friend who is booked separately in finding out if you want to choose your seat you have to pay extra. So when I went online to choose and pay for that seat I still ended up with a seat not next to her and was told that I never picked the seat.uuuummm....yeah... I did... doing the online check-in is pointless because he still have to wait in this incredibly long line .. they charge you for a carry yup and if you don't pay for it by a certain time then they gauge you and charge you $100 for a carry on. and I said to one of the "customer service" reps and I use that term loosely ... how is this company still in business?! you might want to look for another job.... there were two rows of empty seats in the back of the overnight flight which was incredibly long and uncomfortable however Airline attendants would not let anybody use any of those seats. And were incredibly rude about it at one point this thug of a flight attendant starts rudely and loudly telling is for older women who did not speak English to put on her seatbelt he clearly did not understand what he was saying and he just started seeing it louder and louder and louder instead of just helping herhe was very nasty about it . Never...again. ..."

Cons: "Your website doesn't allow all changes to baggage such as the ability to switch from a checked bag to a carry on after you purchase a bag type. Your customer service phone assistance charges ridiculous fees for simple changes. Your flight staff is not friendly at all and worst of all both my boyfriend and I experienced severe flight delays which made us miss international connections. Your staff made no apologies or attempts to assist us. I'm extremely disappointed with this airline and I'll never fly on it again. I've also shared on my social media accounts warning friends and family against booking with you."
Pros: "The only good thing was the nice agent who tried to help me get a new flight"
Cons: "My flight was cancelled. No reason given except weather and the tower. Other flights were leaving with no problem. It was cancelled as I went through security so I ahd no idea until another passenger at the gate told me. Everyone else had gone back down to the ticket counter to figure out a new flight. After waitng in line an hour I was told there was not another flight out unitl the next night. Also told I could have just called and gotten my refund instead of standing in line. I surprised my son with a day trip to lego land. I was flying out of san diego the next night. I had to leave that day from vegas. Because of the cancellation I had to rent a car and driv from las vegas to san diego. We got in late and missed our time playing at the beach and swimming. This was my only experience with spirit and I will never fly this airline again. It was absolutely horrible the way the cancellation was handled. You messed up my entire weekend with my son."
Pros: "The flight itself ( time, taje-off, landing etc) were fine."
Cons: "They promote themselves as an "unbundled" airline so you don't pay for unwanted features. But they don't tell you that you then must pay for carry-on luggage at $50.00 per piece at the airport. On our return flight I went online to pre-purchase the luggage at $40 per piece but the system would not accept my PMT. I called customer svc to pay over the phone. He said "that will be $55.00 EACH. This is for CARRY ON luggage that is free on every other airline. I paid the $50 at the airport which made them MUCH more costly than any other airline."
Cons: "Plane was malfunctioning and we had to wait on a congested plane with no updates. The anxiety pushed me into throwing up consistently for the whole over two hour flight. As we took off the plane was making a terrible noise that nobody has ever heard on a plane before. No explanation on any of it. The pilots also flew slightly erratically when making our climb..... The worst flight ever. We will never fly on your airline again. The flight attendant did give an apology at the end of the fight but it was not nearly enough."
Cons: "I checked in online on my phone the night before and didn't realize I would have to pay 55$ to even bring my bag on the plane. I got to the airport and saw that, and then had to pay 50$ to even check it. Make it more clear that you need to pay to even carry on luggage online. I would have paid the cheaper price when i checked in the night before. With the extra 50$ it would have been cheaper to fly another airline. I was also seated between 2 huge men that were overflowing over the arm rests and didn't sleep at all on my red eye flight because I couldn't get comfortable, since they charged for even getting an assigned seat so I didn't pay it. Never flying Spirit again."
Cons: "You don't know you are going to be charged for every little item until you have bought the flight. At least it wasn't obvious to me. I had to pay for my carry on bag, in addition to my checked bag. If I wanted a drink of Coke or water on the flight, I had to pay for it. I had to pay to pick my seats online before the flight. If I wanted to print my boarding pass at the airport check-in terminal (which is what you typically do), I had to pay for it. I was surprised I didn't have to pay to use the bathroom on the plane. By the time you add up all the extra charges for these items with the cost of the actual flight, I ended up paying more than I would have if I just booked a flight with another airline that included these items as complementary. To top things off, the seats are very, very, uncomfortable. There is hardly any padding in the seat, and you feel like you are sitting on boards. The seats are very tight, and they don't recline at all. If you are super, super cheap, don't need a carry on bag, or checked bag, don't need to eat or drink your entire flight, and don't mind being crammed into a small very uncomfortable seat while you fly, then I guess this is the flight for you. Worst flight I have ever been on. I regret not using one of the major airlines. Will never use again!"
Cons: "Boarding took so long. No food. Somewhat rude flight attendants. My bags were taken on my final flight back home to Chicago with spirit. The exact same duffle I traveled with the entire time. In LA the lady took my bags and my sisters even though we told her we do not have checked bags and haven't needed to check them the last 5 flights we had for our business trip. The worst 100 dollars ever spent. I will not fly spirit again for the simple fact that depending on the day of the check in spirit employees I have to pay for a bag that meets all requirements of a personal bag."
