Pros: Flight was fine....
Cons: ....but departure wa delayed over an hour
Cons: connection information very poor
Pros: Great service. Very comfortable seat
Pros: A lot of seating space. very comfortable.
Cons: You have to pay for wifi.
Pros: Crew was amazing. Seat was better then usual.
Cons: Don’t make us pay for our drinks.
Cons: We paid for meals that were NOT delivered
Cons: Could not have been better
Cons: The flight was cancelled without explanation
Pros: Everything!!! Excellent service
Pros: Flight was on time. Bathrooms were clean.
Cons: Dinner and breakfast were terrible, especially for a long transatlantic flight. Attendants were curt. Movie selection was subpar compared to other airlines on similar flights I’ve taken.
Pros: Transfer time is not sufficient due to customs in Sweden customs inspection takes too long for only one staff.
Pros: Food was excellent!
Pros: The crew was great and the economy seating was roomier than expected.
Cons: Long line just to drop bag off since I had already used the kiosk to check in, then 2 1/2 hour flight delay, charged for wine which should be complimentary on international flights.
Pros: plane is clean & seats are comfy
Pros: I slept the whole way through
Pros: The food
Cons: Counter selling me an upgrade that was more expensive than I prefer. I.e., buyers remorse
Pros: Very comfortable and smooth flight, on board entertainment on first leg of trip was great. Food was fresh and good. Nice coffee & Tea service,
Cons: Boarding was a little scattered, but ok
Cons: Didn’t have veggies good on board
Pros: Nice flight, comfortable seating, blankets/pillows/headphones were provided, and food was good.
Pros: Pros: -Good food -Good entertainment -Attentive staff
Cons: Cons: -Uncomfortable seats ( I took the free seat and didn't upgrade) -Poor air circulation ( I hardly felt any AC) -Lack of overall plane space
Pros: Transfer desk was remote but once found, staff was very good
Cons: Haven't made it yet due to late flight/missed connection
Pros: It was a normal flight, only a few hours long. The crew was very nice.
Cons: Once again, just some leg, and arm space issues but that's to be expected.
Pros: Safe departure, flight and landing.
Cons: An in flight breakfast snack would have been appreciated. The drinks served were okay. Nothing special.
Pros: Awesome seat with great leg room for a tall person. The whole flight went quickly and enjoyed the crew and flight
Cons: Not water for children.
Pros: The crew was incredibly friendly
Cons: I would have appreciated a vegetarian option for the meal.
Cons: Flight was late and they left us completely hanging at the Stockholm airport with no agents anywhere to be found and no instructions on what to do about the missed connection.
Pros: nothing too exciting, everything as expected.Seats were a bit tight tho
Cons: Food tasted Horrible
Cons: So many delays and lost luggage. The craziest was leaving Manchester. I was supposed to have 30 minutes after leaving security at Manchester and would have done if they hadn't decided to board early. That's ok but then we sat on the plane waiting which resulted in leaving later than the original time of departure and therefore a large run for my connection at Copenhagen. Was badly organized clearly.
Cons: For an international flight, only the first non-alcoholic drink is included for free. Let's say, if you want 2 orange juices, you have to pay for the second. Alcohol, of course, is not free under their system. Snacks? Forget about it.
Pros: Everything was great! At check-in I upgraded to SAS plus. Will choose that again.comfortable, crew was so nice and friendly. Food was amazing. Made my 10 hour flight great. .
Cons: Crew unfriendly
Pros: Not enough space to store items.
Pros: The automated kiosks made it ridiculously easy. Flying out of LAX can be a pain, but that went by so smoothly. I'm cheap and have become accustomed to Spirit airlines. So when I received free (decent) meals a complimentary bottle of water and a plethora of inflight entertainment.
Pros: Everything. The service was great, plane was comfortable and the ride was easy. I will try to only fly SAS from now on
Cons: 8 years ago on similar flight from Lax to got, we had to retrieve checked bags in Sto, and then go through security. It was not clear at all on this trip if it was the same. SK agent at lax seemed unsure, Arlanda customer service agents at baggage in Arlanda also seemed unsure. We then learned from another airport worker at baggage they would go all the way through. It is very important to know since turn around time is very short, and I almost missed flight 8 years ago, and bags did miss it last time. Tks
Pros: Reasonably on time
Cons: No entertainment at all, no food at all, unless you are willing to pay 10 euros for a sad looking sandwich. You got water or coffe, or you overpaid. And it's not like they're giving the seats away!
Pros: It was weird boarding last. We understand different airlines have different policies but we believe letting the elderly and families with little children should always have first priority... We as a family and with an elderly who is not 100% well have big challenges... It is always nice for other airlines to get us in earlier so the elderly and the little children can settle. This airline's policy is a shift for us. If not for the good price, we'd choose another... But it was just ok just a longer wait... Children and the elderly should always have the best benefit... Not the busiiness people.. Crazy policy!
Cons: Service was mediocre. Staff was nice but not very caring like other airlines and most were older women who are burnt out... Its almost like they don't want to be there. Food was excellent but there was a charge for red wine. This is Europe. Thought the US was bad... Economy class comfort is not that comfortable as always... o well! Your staff English especially the women announcers were terrible. We could not understand hardly anything. The pilots were a lot better! Need to take English classes.. Sorry but have to be honest...
Cons: My suitcase was never put on my flight from LAX - ARN, despite checking in 24 hours early and arriving at baggage drop 2.5 hours before my flight. I still have not received my suitcase in Helsinki, and they can't seem to locate it. I am on vacation in Finland and have no clothes, medicine, or toiletries and everyone at SAS and baggage claim have been very unhelpful.
Pros: New and nice plane. Good amenities for coach. Good service for the most part. Food was tasty.
Cons: Breakfast was kind of rushed. Would have liked to have been offered water, tea, and coffee more.
Pros: same as above
Pros: The flight was fine. No issues except it was late. Not a big deal.
Cons: My bag was soaked and my clothes inside - top layer and some second layer items were wet. Some colors bled into other garments and they are ruined. Really not happy my bag was left out in the rain in Germany.
Cons: Instead of a direct flight from Los Angeles to stockholm I got three flights and two layovers just because they said They were understaffed and I ended up having a very long and terrible flight shifting from one airport to another and I did not get offered any upgrades or compensation for this inconvenience,
Cons: The gate for boarding was not open till it was time to board. I do not know why they could not have us sit in the boarding area, we were standing for a long time.
Pros: Love the fact that the plane was clean and new!
Cons: Wish we had more movies and more tv-shows,
Pros: Everything was a dream. The flight crew was very nice. The aircraft was modern and clean. Flight came with entertainment(movies and such at no hidden or extra charge) they even hand out complimentary headphones which u keep. Blankets and pillows were provided. And the food was light and healthy and wasn't bad at all. Obviously it's not fun being trapped in a small place for 10+ hours but everything else was good.
Cons: Length of trip, however this will take some technological advances. Not much can be done to improve this yet.
Pros: The cost of the flight was low and affordable - that's about it.
Cons: Not much legroom for an 11-hour flight. SAS provides 2 meals during the flight, which is similar to other airlines, however, drinks are only provided with the meals. If you want a drink at a different time, you have to pay for it. I find that quite unacceptable for a flight of this duration. The checkin agents (not employees of SAS) took quite a while to help me - almost half an hour, which prevented me from spending some time outside the airport.
Pros: Flight was pretty good, awesome food, kind crew. Only disappointment was that we at SAS go didnt got a hot towel like the other classes. At Singapour Airlines thats something offered free of charge to all passengers
Cons: the seat were very uncomfortable
Pros: The entertainment was superb. I watched 4 great movies and documentaries that peaked my interest.
Cons: I wish my seat could recline more. I felt that was one reason I could not sleep on the flight.
Pros: They dont let me in the plane I loose the flight
Cons: i loose the flight they dont let me in the plane
Pros: everything was fine. uneventful
Cons: staff Attitude could be better. Also no milk for toddlers but free vine for people to get drunk, be loud on overnight flight, then snore and stink drunk. My table was all in some snort when I opened it to put my meal on. Dirty lavatory floors.
Cons: Too many delays including leading the gate due to ground staff leaving equipment behind the plane .... really ?! On the upside - announcements from 1st officer was good
Cons: Best flight and touch down ever.
Cons: Departing on time.
Cons: Premium economy amenities were outdated, specifically the seats. My tray table was unable to lie flat so food/drink kept sliding off. Quite unacceptable. I’ll fly American next time in premium economy, much better at the moment.
Cons: Departure time
Pros: The food was good and the crew was friendly and attentive.
Cons: HOT. The plane was 90% of the time. It would tease you just long enough to start to fall asleep, then bam! You wake up in a sweat. It was 9.5 of 10 hours of a low boil sweat. The most uncomfortable flight I've ever been on. Apparently a known issue, including the condensation leaks on people sitting next to the window. (Guessing that's why the A/C was left off.) Also one of the bathrooms was quickly out of service. Another would auto flush if you tried to sit down. And another the green light was on whether occupied/locked or not. So 3 of 4 in Economy had at least some kind of malfunction. The power tinting windows never responded to the buttons - assumed they were on master override. Finally, the seats were pretty compact. I would describe World Traveler on BA (aka Economy) more like the new compact Basic Economy offered on other carriers. Seats were very small and leg room consumed by some kind of service boxes. I'm hoping to all things holy that our return flight is actually an American Air flight instead of BA direct. Really afraid of another 10+ hours of torture.
Pros: First class check in was smooth and efficient ! Love the passage way that lead me directly to lounge
Cons: Service in the lounge should be improved and there is no clear direction of which gate ie Gate 10A / C / E etc when boarding . Had to check a few times to ensure it’s the right gate
Cons: They gave 2 veggie meals to mu big strapping men seat mates and the ignored me entirely!
Pros: The quality of the plane was good and the movies were good. Also the blanket and pillow was nice.
Cons: I was really cramped and couldn’t recline because the guy behind me was too tall and it amashes his legs, so I had to be uncomfortable for the entire flight.
Pros: Quick, smooth flight and a polite captain
Cons: Late leaving and arriving and baggage took forever to be delivered to belt.
Cons: They’re not too helpful in helping me get on a flight to my final destination.
Cons: Crew didn’t seem interested in picking up trash, especially Amy trash that was not related to mean or beverage service.
Pros: Nice staff. Decent entertainment system.
Cons: Lack of leg room. Uncomfortable seats.
Pros: The title says it all
Pros: Ease of boarding
Pros: Excellent customer service thank you
Cons: My husband and I paid a combined $100 to reserve seats on our flight from LAX to London. When we got to check-in at LAX airport we did not get our reserved seats. Everything had been changed around. We did not even have seats next to each other. Upon complaining at arrival in London (there was no time at LAX to deal with this, as usual that airport was one chaotic mess) we were given a British Airways business card with a phone number that did not work/had been disconnected. I would like to get the $100 reservation fee back. Thank you.
Pros: Lots of shopping but that may not be good since pickpockets are everywhere
Cons: Police (more) presence required to prevent thefts
Pros: The flight was on time and really nothing important has happened - and that was good. I also liked that the British Airways wished us Merry Christmas instead Happy Holidays I've been hearing here in the US where people's correctness really sucks.
Cons: Everything was ok thus I'm not complaining.
Cons: My flight was cancelled, but after I took another flight, I was notified that my flight had merely been postponed for half an hour. By this time, I'd already missed my train in Frankfurt, creating hours of extra travel time and huge inconvenience after an already long trip from the US. British Airways said the cancellation had been due to weather, but skies were clear from London to Frankfurt. I'll never fly BA again.
Cons: My previous flight was delayed at the start and further in flight so I missed my connection. LHR makes too much use of buses.
Cons: The boarding started late (30 min before supposed departure), took much longer than expected because we needed to use the bus. Then we waited another hour on the tarmac. We were told it would be only a few minutes. Then we were told we would make up for the lost time, but that wasn't true and an additional half hour was lost on a holding pattern at LHR. We missed our connection. The instructions were unclear on what to do (contradiction between flight attendants and ground crew). By the time we picked up new boarding passes, we had already missed that flight as well and had to go to the customer service, which took another 45 min. Flight entertainment didn't work the first hour. There was a high pitched beeping sound during the whole flight (not the regular airplane noise).
Pros: Every thing on time no Daly
Pros: The crew was amazing!!!!
Cons: No leg room!
Pros: good service
Pros: Nothing was bad. Take off to landing was great. Red wine was
Pros: The flight was very short, and comfortable. I fell asleep 5minutes into the air and woke up 15minutes before landing; shortest flight I've taken yet.
Pros: Food and drink ok
Cons: I've had more comfortable seats on a C-17 cargo plane! Crew delivered meals, passed thru once with water then disappeared for 4 hours til breakfast.
Pros: The A380 is quiet and is less suceptible to turbulence than smaller planes. Climate was comfortable.
Cons: The seats are close together and there wasn't enough legroom for me, I'm 6'2". The seat pockets are a. It small and it was hard to fit my iPad Pro.
Pros: Loved how easy it was to board the plane.
Cons: That there was a child who would not stop yelling but that is not your fault.
Cons: It has been a week and British airways still hasn't delivered my suitcase.
Pros: Good food Welcoming and friendly flight attendants Amazing selection of movies, TV shows, games Excellent customer service Comfy seats with ample legroom
Cons: My seat did not recline at all. When notifying the flight attendants during the meal/beverage service, they said they would note down my seat. However, nobody ever gave me any assurances that they would really inform maintenance to resolve the problem. Half way through the flight, my screen froze. Nothing would start it up again. After waking up hours later, I informed the flight attendant and she was able to reset/restart my screen individually. Everything worked perfectly afterwards
Pros: Everything was fine until I ate my breakfast.
Cons: My special kosher meal cause me to immediately have stomach cramps and estreme nausea - within 20 min of eating it. I had horrible pains and could not use the bathroom due to landing. Upon landing I ran to the use the restroom and the staff promised to keep an eye on my bags. When I exited the bathroom after being violently ill, no one was on the plane except the cleaning staff, and no one was keeping an eye on my bags. I found my purse unzipped. Luckily nothing seems to be stolen. I proceeded to vomit and have food poisoning symptoms the next few hours while waiting for my connecting flight to Rome. I vomited through the entire flight to Rome - no one seemed particularly concerned. No one asked if I needed a hospital. British Air would not take a report about the food poisoning onsite. Nothing was done to help me change my flights to avoid flying so sick or make any helpful suggestions whatsoever.
Pros: Nice plane. Great movies
Cons: Breakfast poor quality. Disorganised boarding
Cons: The overhead luggage bins near my seat on my LAX-LHR flight were too small to accomodate my European standard carry-on, which meant that another passenger and I had to store our luggage three sections away before there was an empty bin big enough. I understand the need for different sized bins, especially since our seats were up against the galley, but I felt a little unsupported by the crew. They basically just told us, "walk down far enough and you'll find something"--this was true but not exactly helpful. It's a small thing, but I think maybe if you warned passengers sitting in seats with smaller bins ahead of time, that would help make things smoother, since another stressor was that we didn't find places for our luggage until it was almost time for takeoff.
Pros: All of my flights with BA this year were great. A flight from London to LA was exceptional....really kind staff , excellent pilot despite dodgy weather and most amazing of all REALLY good food! Usually I never eat airline food, but wow! Fantastic! Wish I could remember the name of one of the stewards who went above and beyond, despite having some rather demanding, actually outright rude passengers! Well done!
Pros: Cabin crew always professional. The cabin was fresh and new.
Cons: the leg room In club Europe is appalling. No premium feel at all.
Cons: Since you now have to pay for additional luggage, which I have always done in the past, I find it increasing infuriating that when boarding the plane to store my carry on luggage I have not been able to store this appropriately, I am led to believe as a paying customer I should not have to store my carry on luggage by my feet because the overhead cabin is not available to me. .
Cons: The flight took off and 30 minutes into the flight to Paris, we were returned to Chicago for an unexplained mechanical problem. After 5 hrs delay, the flight was cancelled. I had to run to another desk for help and was rebooked on an Air France flight but did not receive miles for either BA or AF. Completely unprofessional and chaotic. Miserable to say the least because I missed the wedding that I was flying to, the only reason I flew there!
Cons: Seats were uncomfortable. The food was below average even for airline food. One of the flight attendants was rude to one of the passengers even though the passenger was not doing anything out of normal.
Pros: Good information from the pilots. Very clean plane. Food ok. Seat pitch better than the American Airlines flight the other direction.
Cons: Flight attendants disinterested or in the case of an older male flight attendant, impatient and rude.
Pros: Saved 5 hours by being changed to a non-stop for the same fee.
Cons: Working with Iberia to get accessible seating took ten irritating phone calls.
Pros: The food and service was good. The seats in coach were uncomfortable and the entertainment was subar as there were only 8 or so movies no being recent release
Cons: The lack of decent movies
Pros: The plane itself is big enough which makes the ride quite comfortable and less subject to turbulence.
Cons: Seats do not recline much in economy but that is expected.
Pros: For a reasonably priced flight the comfort and free drink/snack were above average and very much appreciated.
Cons: BA's online check in let them down though; the server kept crashing. They also wanted to charge £15 to pick one's seat, even at point of check in, a tacky ploy to pad profits. Forgiven on this instance as the flight was only 50 min, but would make me think twice for any longer distances.
Pros: Direct airline
Cons: Delay, as usual on this rout because the airplane is too old and always have michanical problems From the inside it looks too old
Cons: I arrived on time to make my flight yet was denied the opportunity to board. Resulting in me being unable to do my lecture for UCLA and being late to my aunt’s wedding.
Cons: My flight from LAS to LAX was excellent, it was a larger plane , full and was able to stretch out. I would love to fly American Airlines more but flight times for my destinations are not always the best.
Pros: I like that I paid for a first class seat with no first class service.
Cons: Suspended food is a rip off, I flew this same leg a month and a half ago got food, what changed, NOTHING...I have flown AA for 20plus years. I never got credit for that flight either. I am aware safety first but what does it really have to do with QUALITY of the Airline. Still love yah tho.
Pros: That we got there on time. And landed safely.
Cons: Honestly I have no complaints but they could at least serve something for a 6 hour flight
Cons: Full flight
Cons: Several people got on the flight with no face mask on. The flight was completely packed, there was no distancing at all. The boarding process required me to walk past everyone as my chair was in the back and I was last group to board (unlike other airlines that have switched to back to front boarding to reduce people coming in contact with each other) As I walked down the PACKED plane mot people had masks on incorrectly (hanging off one ear, down around their chin, nose out, etc.) some people had no mask at all and the flight attendants did nothing. It seems like they were doing nothing to keep passengers safe from COVID-19 spread. Compared to Delta, American Airlines was terrifying to fly, I find not feel safe at all.
Cons: Sat cheek to jowels in middle seat. Seems like a train wreck about to happen with Covid
Cons: No food
Pros: I am no longer comfortable with airline seats, bad nerve in back of leg.
Cons: Poor communication about “Red-tagging” carry on luggage
Pros: Great crew, clean plane.
Cons: Wish we had beverage service back soon.
Pros: Cause me to miss my connecting flight from Dallas to Mobile
Cons: Had the aircraft fueled before boarding the flight
Pros: The flight crew and the captain were terrific.
Cons: Gate agents were rude. Everybody was forced to check-in their carry on luggage due to the small plane. This information should have been shared before boarding. We were informed as we were boarding and had to scramble to remove the laptop from our carry-on and help up passengers behind us from boarding. A totally unnecessary stressful situation created by the gate agents for failing to share information. Once we got onboard we saw carry-ons larger then what we were forced to check-in. Evidently, enforcement of standards is at the gate agents' discretion.
Pros: Very attentive crew
Cons: Boarding gates
Pros: Good entertainment, seats were ok.
Cons: I paid for a seat with extra leg room and then was told at the gate that there were none of those seats left, despite the fact that I booked and paid for that seat 3 weeks ago!
Pros: Dinner and boarding
Cons: Seats, noise and kids running, walking and CRAWLING in the aisles and lack of wifi and entertainment that I can choose, Also, the bathrooms ran out of paper and the crew was not attentive. They didn't do anything about the kids disruptive behavior and extremely load talking (reciting abc and counting). I asked if they could talk to the parents and they said no, the beverage service was not good as I couldn't get more water and the seats were awful! Why wasnt the wifi working? even if it worked I'd have to purchase it even tho it was an international flight. I will not fly American Airlines again!
Pros: The staff was fantastic
Cons: Well my flight got delayed four separate times. I was stuck in LAX for 3 hours. So much that booked another flight with another airline for the following morning. I had to book a hotel nearby LAX just so I could somewhere to sleep for the night. My luggage made it to Chicago safely, but I didn’t at least not with American Airlines. It took them an hour to tell us that they reassigned the pilot to another flight, not only that when it was delayed the first initial time (40 minute delay) about ten minutes before we were supposed to board they tell us that the flight attendant crew is going to take 30 minutes to get to the gate. Not only but those poor airline service staff were completely unaware of all these changes! They had to find out from the passengers what was going on. Honestly I will never fly with American Airlines ever again!!!
Pros: I took two connecting flights on American Airlines between Los Angeles and Lisbon period on the website American claims to have charging and or electrical ports in every row. There were none on either flight. To make matters worse, when my tablet and phone batteries both died before the end of the first flight, there was no inflight entertainment, other than 1 ridiculous thing available, on either flight. American has switched to BYOD for entertainment, but forgot to provide a way to charge our own devices. Incredibly stupid.
Cons: On top of that, one of the flight attendants on the Philadelphia to Lisbon run was a hella snarky guy with a bad attitude all the way through. I would be surprised if I am the first person to complain about him.
Pros: Awfully rude flight attendants Took multiple buses I guess American doesn’t pay good money to the airports
Pros: eh, mediocre but usual service from a US airline. Just enough to get you from point A to B, but you’re exhausted once there.
Cons: too little leg room, and quite uncomfortable seats, couldn’t relax and was cramping from being unable to move more than an inch.
Cons: Flight was delayed due to poor maintenance that caused issues before take off. Of course safety is important but that is why maintenance should be done routinely and prioritised accordingly. The pilot on the first delayed flight (new airplane) was clueless, his exact words "... our analysis team from midwest needs an hour to figure out whether we can fly or not" This is after we have boarded the flight. Then after about an hour of sitting in the plane, he says "rumor has it that a new plane will be towed in..." What? Why didn't they stop boarding and just get the new plane in. And I don't appreciate the emails saying flight is delayed without giving any reason for it. AA could have certainly done a better job of communicating the issue. Further the flight crew including the pilot were acting like victims. If it were an Asian carrier like Singapore Airlines, the crew would be smiling and providing assitance courteously since they represent the airlines. Not flying them again.
Pros: upgraded to business, which made for a nice ride home.
Cons: seat and monitor seemed to have minds of their own, but only caused a minor inconvenience I'm frustrated with AA's information on movies, which is questionable and unrealable. For example, the recently released film 'Coco' was listed as PG-13 and not included in the "Disney" category. "Justice League" was listed as R. There are several other examples of misinformation in their movie listings. For parents who use the ratings as one piece of information to guide their children, it would be nice to have correct information when making selections. this problem is not new; it's been this way for over a year now. I hoped that over time they would get it right, but alas, it remains inconsistent at best.
Pros: I got there safely.
Cons: I will never fly American Airlines again. From the moment I checked in with the ticket agent to getting off the plane it was a disaster. The ticket agent was rude, hostile, and dismissive. Employees walked through the line at security forcing everyone to consolidate their belongings to one bag. I had a large wallet in my hand and was told I had to step out of line to put it in my backpack. They only allow you one bag to carry on without paying extra. At the time of boarding they announced that the overhead storage was full so even those that paid extra were still forced to check their bags. The plane was dirty, the service was slow, overall just gross. They don’t have WiFi or in flight entertainment so I paid the $20 to purchase the WiFi. It was worthless. I couldn’t stream anything, even music kept stopping to buffer. I understand it will be slower then on ground WiFi, but it was impossible to watch anything and a complete waste of money.
Pros: The Flight Crew were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Business class, Boeing 767-300 The seating configuration was 1/2/1 I would give these seats on a scale from 1 to 10 a 5, this was a very basic B/C seat, without a TV screen integrated to the seat in front of you, instead the flight crew hand out individual passenger entertainment systems, that are a pain to deal with and get in the way of everything your trying to do (ie eat, work, sleep.) I’m only 5’9 and I found when the seat was in the bed mode, the seat slopped down very slightly, and your feet would end up underneath the side table to the row of seats in front of you. As i wear a size 13 shoe, i found that space to be rather cramped especially for my feet.
Cons: American Airlines won't let you buy emergency row exit seats (or bulk head) because the 'code share' prevents them from advance seat sales. I was told I could do it at check in in Los Angeles. But those seats were sold out long before we even got to LA! I contacted American Airlines Customer Relations about 1 month prior to my flight. I completed their online form detailing the problem and asked if there is any way I could buy extra leg room seats. But they never even bothered to respond. I got the automated email acknowledging receipt of my complaint and assuring me I would be contacted soon. NOT!!
Pros: The actual flight was fine. But leading up to it not so much.
Cons: Please inform travelers that their passport must not expire within 3-6 months of their trip to France. I was unaware of this and was not allowed on our flight in Philadelphia because my passport would expire in two months. We lost an entire day in France because I had to go to the customs office the next morning and get an emergency passport. I travel frequently, but somehow was not aware of this rule. If I had known I would have fixed the issue months ago. Multiple people viewed my ticket and passport before arriving in Philadelphia and no one caught this error until right as I was boarding the flight to Paris.
Cons: AA gate crew checked my bag at the gate, but to the wrong person!! I missed my flight because I had to go find it in baggage claim, take a taxi to another terminal, hoof it across the terminal to TSA pre-check which was 45 people deep and slow as a snail, then run to the gate (which was at the ooooother end I originally entered through). I missed my flight literally by 3 minutes. There was no one at the gate to help me, AA staff kept telling me to go to different places, getting a new flight was INSANE. The whole experience was a pure nightmare.
Pros: Price, new plane, interactive system
Pros: British Airway, as their partner, made everything perfect.
Cons: Iberia never picks up the phone. American Airlines always says 'No' first, & sticks with their 'No' for about an hour before being willing to think of work 'round solutions. AA online check-in didn't work, There's always a 45+ minute wait by phone to get AA to answer.. Then the customer service line of Airlines @ LAX had 70+ people needing help, but only one person working. So it was an hour long wait, only to be told 'No' you can't fly. Yet once I walked over to British Airways, they found a way to get me to my destination. Airlines just does not have enough employees and doesn't care.
Pros: Boarding was quick and easy, no problems or hassles. Seat reclined and was reasonably comfortable. Left early, arrived even earlier.
Cons: Crew was more robotic than human, which is bexoming a trend on AA. No smiles, no acknowledgment, just doing the job of handing out food and picking up trash. No personal touch whatsoever. Food was subpar for an AA flight, especially international. Entertainment system has many defects and problems, for example "search" is useless. Uninspiring and forgettable film choices as well. The knob to control air flow was broken which made it chilly. To finish as I started, a more engaged and pleasant crew could have made all the other things more palpable and acceptable. They were just too cold, like the temperature in the cabin and distant.
Pros: Flight crew was excellent.
Cons: We booked flights through British Airways but flew American Airlines. The check in process was a stressful mess: we were forced to stand in long customer service lines both on our first flight from LAX to Chicago and again during our very short layover in Chicago to Dublin to ensure that our bags were checked all the way to our final destination. Very stressful, and it didn't help that the gate crew was extremely rude and unprofessional. It is very inconvenient that we could not choose our seats beforehand.
Pros: Why would a jet this size wobble all the way across the Atlantic! The pretzels were even stale, and they served a "pizza" that was a stale mini loaf with sauce and a little mozzarella. People were starving when breakfast was served. The thermostat fluctuated from horribly hot to freeing - for 14 hrs. The crew slammed things down on table trays, grumped, were giving harsh orders to patrons rather than gently directing them. These ladies do not enjoy their job. I am done with Delta. We were also an hour late taking off due to a door on a cargo hold not closing. I was embarrassed that our Aussie friends experienced this as their first American flight.
Cons: Food, attitude of flight attendants, comfort of cabin. Pilot took charge of thermostat issue and kept us informed in a friendly manner regarding the status of our take off and flight progress.
Cons: Small plane, 6 seats per row, no individual entertainment. Not comfortable for a 7 hour trip.
Cons: Couldn't check in on line. Flight was delayed. Boarding was hectic and disorganized. Everybody ran for the gate. Crew was prompt and not friendly. Upon arriving they announced that they did not have the Hawai'i agricultural forms, so we would have to wait until the "agent" cam on the plane with the forms, fill out the forms, and then disembark. The crew was not organized, so it took about 10-15 minutes to get off after we arrived in the gate (late) because they could not get people sit down and fill out the forms. Chaotic. I plan NOT to fly American again. Ever.
Cons: People still using mobiles as we were taking off. Crew seemed not too bothered.
Pros: The "very" new 777-200 was very comfortable, well-laid out. I usually skip or leave half of the in-flight food served, but this rates as one of the best meals, I've had in an airplane outside of business class. The in-flight entertainment/information service was decent, but perhaps because the plane was still in new condition.
Cons: On this entire business trip, I booked with other companies, but ended up 5 flights operated by American Airlines. One cancellation, 4 delayed, 3 late arrivals. The last one was the most annoying. I will be avoiding AA in the future. The domestic crews are generally brusque and miserable. The international flight crews were more accommodating and pleasant, but most of them also seemed annoyed at passenger presence. Also, having to pay for a preferred seat on a half-empty airplane is simply unfair. By 24hrs before the flight, AA must have known there were plenty of empty seats.
Pros: Boarding was a mess - there were no announcements about boarding and the gate agent did nothing to promote order in the gate area. Thank goodness for the new planes on this route - the old planes with the blue "leather" seats were so overdue to be retired. Onboard entertainment was great and every seat had a USB port and AC outlet. Smoothest landing ever, I couldn't even tell when the wheels hit the pavement! It was also the first time I recall a female captain on American - maybe the smooth landing wasn't such a coincidence :)
Pros: New plane with leather like seats and good entertainment system.
Cons: no entertainment! Nothing. On the flight from Mex City to LAX the bathroom facilities were so limited that some Economy class passengers had to try to use the business class or first class facilities' An FA then came on the intercom and said Economy class must only use their own facilities and this is according to an FAA regulation. THat is a straight out lie. If you eliminate bathrooms from Economy class to squeeze in more seats this problem will persist. American Airlines should be ashamed of itself.
Cons: They lost 1 of 4 bags.
Pros: The airline was excellent, I am over being cramped in these planes for long flights. Unfortunately living in Australia makes us have to do the long flights.
Cons: When you are travelling on long flights travelling all night, people in front have seat reclined right back and it is so hard to get out when you need to go to toilet.
Pros: Upgraded from Business to First on a transcend A321. Seats amazing, hard product is just superb on these planes. Crew good but a bit animatronic as always with AA.
Cons: I could not change the flight with less payment so I missed the flight and booked another one.
Cons: It cost me $86 dollars to supposedly upgrade my seat to an exit row with tons of leg room. Granted there was plenty of leg room but the seat was extra narrow to give room for an emergency exit if necessary. I'm not huge but I barely fit in the seat. It was an uncomfortable squeeze which of course got worse as the flight continued. I complained to an attendant that the seat was too small and he had no remedy. If I was a few pounds heavier it would have been impossible. You'd think they would warn a customer of the narrower seat. It's so obvious that it's all about profit for the airlines which sickens me.
Cons: ORD -> LAX We sat on the Tarmac for 45 mins without any communication. We ended up landing on time, but I was connecting to an international flight, so this naturally caused me and my companion a great deal of unnecessary stress. LAX -> ORD I arrived at the gate prior to the 10 minute before take off deadline and the gate attendant said I couldn't board and walked away. I sat and waited several minutes until a gate attendant returned where they proceeded to call stand by passengers. I was checked in and present, but not allowed to board. So I approached a different attendant, explained and he looked surprised that I wasn't boarded. He then without asking me any questions or checking with me typed on his computer and then handed me a new boarding pass for a new flight 1:25 later. I boarded that plane and sat for over an hour. The pilot had no updates for us other than the delay was a maintenance issue, saying repeatedly that he would check again in 15 mins. Finally after wasting more time we had to deplane and wait for a new one. Ultimately I was not allowed to board my original flight without explanation, which then caused me to have over 3:30 in delays. This is all after I had arrived from an international destination, which made the ordeal very miserable. This type of awful experience is a pattern with American Air - rarely are my flights on time and I've had more cancellations with American than any competitor airline. Anything but A full refund would not be acceptable. Thank you, Randi
