Cons: "the flight was delayed 5 hours due to maintenance. The captain had to finally, after several hours, come to the boarding area to inform all of us that there was problem that was not communicated correctly so we then had to wait an additional 2.5 hours more on top of the original 2.5 hour delay for the two certified mechanics on St. Croix to attest that the plane could fly. No one asked them to come earlier, so we waited for pretty much five (5) hours. We were promised meals and hotel in Miami. the Miami American Airlines service desk told us, sorry, there's so many people, we could not be accommodated. This is outrageous, and I want my money back. I paid for 4 people on that flight and we were treated horribly. On top of that....Cheapoair, representative from whom I bought the tickets, sold me tickets without my understanding that we only had 41 minutes to get off the original flight from Christiansted find the next flight and board it. We never would have made it. Final point, the Cheapoair guy who sold me the tickets charged me about 500 dollars more than what he said the cost was. He quoted and said "all in" 1150 per ticket (I bought 4 tickets). He then charged me nearly 5300 Again this is outrageous and a complete sham. I demand to be compensated for this."

Cons: "My video screen was busted. Long 9 hrs without anything to watch. Food was cold (as in not reheated after being frozen). Landed at PHL and sat at the gate for 45 min before deplaning, which made us miss our connection. Apparently there’s NO other gate to deplane from than the one they picked. Ridiculous."

Cons: "The desk people were aggressively unhelpful when I asked for advice on getting a jacket back that I had left my previous flight (less than an hour earlier). They treated me with derision and ridicule because my previous flight was with a different airline, an airline that is closely enough associated with American that they booked me on an American flight. It should have been possible to at least talk to someone that could address my situation but now I'm stuck with the likely loss of something important to me and a strong dislike of American airlines. I'm probably just salty because it happened yesterday though. I'll get over the jacket eventually and probably fly with American again. But I will always resent them."

Cons: "I didn't like the fact that children sitting behind us weren't told to stop kicking the chair. They also spoke loudly when it was quiet and thus woke me up from my sleep. We were delayed leaving due to unforeseen circumstances, but our arrival time was only 15 minutes later. There was a lot of turbulence during this flight."

Pros: "AA put us in a hotel and gave $12 (per person) food voucher for missed connection due to delay for maintenance."
Cons: "Our luggage was lost for 2.5 hrs in PHX airport, due to mix-up by service rep at customer service. AA attendant at gate at CLT was extremely rude and unprofessional when I accuse Left my boarding passes in seat pocket. Would not summon someone to retrieve it. Made me wait until entire plane was disembarked and cleaned, and made me wait some more after. She was super snarky, made rude comments, and almost made my family miss our connection to EWN. I will never, ever, fly AA again. Worst customer service and tons of issues with maintenance, luggage handling, and delays."

Cons: "Imagine, thanking up until the last minute that you were taking one airline only to be taking another. Imagine no one alerted you to the fact that you were not taking Finn air, as all of your travel documents indicated, but American Airlines that had set up operations with Finn air as a front to cover their poor allegiance and performance as of late. Classic bait and switch at the tune of several thousand dollars. This is worthy of congressional over site."

Cons: "The plane was not only too small for a 7 hour international flight but the sound didn't work for the only video screen in the cabin. Perhaps bigger planes can't fly from Shannon but it would make me think twice about either flying American or through Shannon again."

Pros: "I paid for extra leg room and I got it. The only thing I was in the row right behind first class they require you to put all of your carry-on above even a purse. I had never had that before but I guess that's common practice."

Pros: "I liked the crew and I liked the entertainment, as it made the 10+ hour trip go so quickly. I was also able to sleep 1/2 the time. The crew was extremely nice. I would love to fly BA or AA or any of their partners as long as the fates are reasonable."
Cons: "I checked in online and had my seats reserved and I only had one piece of luggage to check in. In LAX, as long as I checked in for the flight on time, all I had to do in LA was go to a kiosk and check my luggage myself and give it to the people who work at the counter. The whole process took 5 minutes. However, even though I was checked in For my flight, in LHR, I was told that I still had to wait in the long line for those who needed their boarding passes among checking in tons of luggage. I was given a paper ticket lthough i already had one in my iPhone apple wallet. Besides waiting, for what I thought was a waste since I only had to check in luggage, the gates seemed so far away and the scheduling boards don't indicate right away as to what gate I need to go to. Luckily, my app told me what gate and I was hoping it was correct because I had to walk so far. Basically my gripes were with the airport and not with the flight itself. One thing bout the plane from London to lax, it seems the bigger the plane, the less legroom I had. I felt too close to the people next to me. The plane from Paris had more room."

Cons: "I would not have booked this flight had I known there was no seatback video entertainment system on this aircraft. It made for a very long and boring flight."

Pros: "Gate crew kept the door open as we dashed to our connection and welcomed us by name as they hustled us on board. Ground crew did an amazing job of transferring our luggage in the short 10 minutes or so that we had between planes. Thank you everyone!"

Cons: "We thought we would get some decent amenities with a name brand carrier but American has basically become like Spirit or Frontier. International travel used to be exempt from impossibly small seats, lack of in flight entertainment and terribly overmatched crew members scurrying to try and complete their duties. Terrible. But the good news is if you pay an extra fee they will let you get on the plane first. More time to be miserable! Hoorah!!"

Cons: "Paying $60 for 2 checked bags was fine but the additional $100 for a 12 lb. over the weight limit was excessive. The bag fees ended up being just $40 less than the ticket."

Cons: "The lady at baggage check-in was rude and persistent on not letting me board due to a slight fold in my passport. Other coworkers did not agree, and allowed me to proceed. She also spent 20 minutes in back searching for information while I waited and the line filled up. My luggage was also lost (the last to handle the luggage was this lady) and I needed to retrieve it 3 hours after my flight arrived."

She was very short in her responses, and seemed annoyed at the fact I needed help, getting my new ticket indicating I had a lap infant, as it was in my reservation. Ultimately, I had to report I had an infant with me at the flight gate, even though this was my second flight with AA that day."
