Cons: "The desk attendant tried to bump me off the flight and after a long argument and vociferous complaints on my end I was given a seat on the flight which I had already paid for. After getting a seat for the first leg of the flight I realized I had been put on standbye for the second leg of the flight which meant I would likely get stuck in Panama city. I went back to the desk and after another long argument I was given a seat. I was offered no compensation and they acted like they were doing me a favor by giving me a seat on the flight. When I sat down and asked the girl next to me how her day was going she told me she had had the same expernece as me but becuase she had complained less she had been bumped off of both her flights that she had purchased 6 months in advance without an explanation. Later on the flight from Panama city to san francisco which is a 7 hour flight, Copa airlines has security set up so that you cannot bring any liquids (even water you buy at the airport). This meant the passengers had a 7 hour flight without water. The crewd came through the cabin 2 maybe 3 times with drinks but this is not nearly sufficient for a 7 hour flight if you cant bring your own water..."

So stressful!!! 2) In transit passengers catching connecting flights, Copa to Copa, have to go through their security again! What, why?? We cannot eat, drink and relax at the gate because no fluids are allowed AT YOUR GATE. We are not talking ourtside security, you are already in the security areas. Even to go to the bathroom you have to go in and out of security, again! Stupid!! We didn't leave the terminal, and you're making us miserable!"

WiFi was advertised but never worked inspite of me wanting to pay for it."

Cons: "There’s 3 valid check points, at checking, passing through customs, and perhaps at the gate prior to boarding the plane, I got stopped and asked , passport and boarding pass, has any one given you anything to carry? Left your bag alone? Taking any live stock... blah blah. It seems that 3 checkpoints were part of the airport security and 3 others by the spiritAir lines staff. How rediculous is that, making a poor little old lady take of her shoes, I know that the Managua international airport is infamous for shoe bombers and heavy ISIS trafic, but come on, an old lady... and have 6 check points. Literally, you took ten steps, and you had to get on another line for another check point. The airport is not even that big to support the queues these guys are creating. Absolutely humorous! And at the same time a nousance, the flight is in the middle of the night, they force you to be in queues, to end up sitting tightly squeezed hard seats, with staff that have no concept of customer service."

Cons: "This flight was booked with another flight at the same time. There was only an hour between this flight and the flight to Boston. This not enough time to transfer at this airport. Missed connecting flight. As I booked a flight from MGA to BOS I did not notice the short connecting time. I missed the flight to BOS because there was not enough time to transfer. I did nothing except go through immigration and transfer my bags. The immigration lines were long but not incredibly so. One hour is simply not enough time to transfer here. About 5 or 6 other passengers also missed their connecting flights who were on the MGA to FLL leg. These flights should either come with a warning or they should not be sold."

Despite the poor situation I felt the crew kept their patience and friendly/professional attitude throughout the entire situation even as passengers became more & more frustrated. Cons: "Fog in Ft. Lauderdale diverted us to Tampa. On the tarmac for 2-3 hours until the flight attendants announced the flight was cancelled and we would be bused to Ft. Lauderdale. Updates changed from 30 minute delay to unboard to long line of others in front of us, to we're next to gate, to the pilots are leaving because they've been there too long, to we're getting off and you'll be bused to Ft. Lauderdale. Very confusing and frustrating."
Cons: "The flight was awful. Seats don't recline. Cost 55$ to get your carry on bag on the flight, unlike every other airline... Which could be 100 if you don't read the fine print and pay for that while checking in. Complete scam. Flights were all delayed almost causing us to miss our connecting flight and the staff was completely useless when asking to help us make it on time."
Pros: "Very uncomfortable seats (international flight) the flight was delayed an hour which is a big deal when the flight departs originally at 2:30am. The layover time is simply not enough time to make a connection, I highly recommend that this airline rethink the way they schedule flights, it would save them a lot of money and angry customers. the flight attendants were nice as were the counter people, however the people that are suppose to be helping you make your connection In Fort Lauderdale are rude and unhelpful. If you have a connecting flight, make sure you have at least 3 hours or you won't make it-again, something that spirit needs to change."
Cons: "The flight was delayed 30 mins and since my conncetion was so tight, I missed my flight to New Orleans from Ft. Lauderdale. I was re-booked on a flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Atlanta for a 8 hour layover. Once aboard my flight to New Orleans from Atlanta, a mechanical issue left us sitting on the tarmac for an additional two hours. My scheduled six hour trip turned into 16 hours. This caused me major inconvenience as I was forced to take an unexpected day off from work. Despite me loosing a day's wages, Spirit Airlines was unable to make any concessions. I paid in full for my checked luggage, despite souvenirs being broken, and was forced to pay for any in-flight beverages & food. Spirit Airline staff was clearly not accommodating nor friendly. Soft drinks and snacks were costly."

Cons: "No leg room, extra narrow seats, no complimentary beverages or snacks (in a three hour filght, they did not even provide a free glass of water, at the very least - prices are absurdly high), no headphone jacks/screens/entertainment, no WiFi for one;s own devices. So unprofessional - they do not even have their own gate at Logan airport (had portable stand placed in front of a United gate, on which was not even listed the actual departure time of the flight.). Only reason I chose them was seeming lowest fare. But they ended up wanting $55 additional dollars for my small CARRY ON and $7 to choose my seat! Never again. Delta on way was a zillion times better experience - and cheaper!"

Cons: "The staff was rude from the gate to some of the flight attendants not all. Poor customer service skills. The 2 ladies at the gate let me stand there for 5 minutes and never asked what I needed. One finally came over rolled her eyes and told me I needed to sit down. I told her no because the flight was boarding and she told me standby needs to sit down and wait . However, I had a boarding pass and simply needed a seat assignment and when I said this she sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes again and took my boarding pass. Extremely rude. Inside an attendant proudly walked down the aisle saying "ugh what's wrong with you people and these phones these days." Then proceeded to get on the intercoms and say "I will have them take the plane back to the gate if you just can't be compliant." Were we on a school bus full of children going on a field trip? How about you explain the reasoning and importance behind needing to turn off cell phones and stop use and maybe you'll have more compliance than getting on the intercom and threatening the customers. I have never been on a flight like that and after my flight back home I never will again. Cheap flights or not it was just AWFUL."
Pros: "Took 2 hours to get my bags in FLL, but don't know if that was a Spirit problem or airport. Spirit did not tell us which carousel, so all the passengers roamed the baggage area, ground crew were no help. Check in both airports was terrible, took over an hour in line and I had all my paper work ahead of time. Spirit got me with the $9 club....sign up and get reduced baggage prices....in the fine fine print you find out it really is $59 and not $9, with no refund to cancel. This was my first and last Spirit flight."

Cons: "There was turbulence throughout the flight. The pilots and the flight attendants announced that we should stay in our seats. People were in the aisles at all times. Several times they were thrown off balance. The fight attendants paid no attention to this they were so busy chit chatting in their area at the front of the plane. We were asked to stay in our seats for passenger safety. Total oblivion was exhibited. For this reason I will never fly on this airline again."

Cons: "What didn't you like? When we landed in Ft Lauderdale from Managua we had to go through customs- Managua flight had been delayed. We expressed to multiple Spririt employees our concern about our connecting flight. The response was don't worry- you wool make it.... We did not. We hustled through customs & ran to re-check & the gates were locked before we even had a chance to make it back through security. The first Spirit Air employee offered no suggestion for what to do next - rather just sarcastically added: Well, there's nothing I can do. The door to the plane is locked. You want me to bust it in? They tried to tell us we had ample time & saying we had an hour from touch down ( not from when the plane doors were actually opened & we were allowed to come off the plane) to make our flight. This was not the case. We knew ahead of time that this was a "no frills" airline. However, there is no concern for the customer. Also, removing the "frills" ended up costing us- with every last detail down to baggage- and really deleting any perceived savings. This airline has deleted any concern for the customer- saving money is a customer concern... So with that logic, Everything else is smoke and mirrors. We would say- use this airline for convenience on non stop domestic flights only. They are too disorganized & chaotic for anything else."

Cons: "I hate thar spirit nickel and dimes you for each part of the flight. To print boarding pass at the counter is $10. To choose a seat is between $10-30. Luggage is $35. I chose my luggage before getting to the airport but did not choose seats. I was then unable to update luggage for the remainder of the day. When I went back to check the max weight for my one piece of luggage I could not get to the area on their site I paid for my luggage. I searched and searched as I was packing. I found information on the spirit site stating 50lbs. OK. I got to the airport and was told the max weight for my bag at that price was 40lbs. I had to pay an additional $25. My plane was then delayed because the auxiliary power source died. We had to get towed back to the gate to get a jump start. A few people scared by the issue and got off the plane. We arrived 1.5 hours late. The issue was Spirits. They made no offers for the inconvenience. Not even a free drink. I have also been bumped and stuck over night in as Spirit over books. I DON'T BELIEVE THEY REALLY SAVE YOU MONEY. The price you are quoted on Kayak or similar sitems with Spirit is never the price you pay. IT IS ALWAYS MORE."

Cons: "first flight (MSP to Fort Lauderdale) was 3 hours late which caused us to miss our connecting flight (also with Spirit) by 2 minutes because Spirit was unwilling to do what ALL major airlines have done in my experience of the last 30 years of flying. When your own airline has a delay usually the other plane is asked and willing to wait if we are just talking minutes. No options were offered for FLYING to Tampa for the same day. Waiting another 24 hours is not an option when you are booked into a resort for only 4 nights! After waiting in the airport for almost 3 hours on a promised shuttle from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa we finally left. This was supposed to be a quick break in the sun for my son who just lost his dad. What a terrible way to start our quick get-away. Also main stewart was unkind almost rude on the plane. He was teaching a rookie who was very kind and trying to be helpful but was discouraged to do so I have flown much in my life . This was my first and honestly most likely my last time flying with Spirit."

Cons: "Everything else. Zero customer service. No explanation as to why my flight was so delayed, no one took the time to genuinely apologize for wasting everyone's time. Staff seemed uninterested and didn't offer any consolation to their patrons. Even when on the plane, flight attendants didn't even offer complimentary water. Any other airline I have ever been on, flight attendants would try to appease patrons by offering beverages, snacks, vouchers. No such service was offered. Two patrons actually got in a heated argument while on the plane because everyone on the plane was extremely agitated. Every adult on the plane was consuming alcohol on the flight as a means to cope with how inconvenienced they were. Flight attendants did not even offer to interject. Everyone left the flight angry and promising themselves that they would never fly Spirit again. I hate knowing that I have to return to NYC via Spirit. Went to customer service and was given an email address so I could complain. I have never been treated this way before where even customer service doesn't offer anything but a disingenuous apology. I feel like even the staff members don't want to work for Spirit. I will never fly Spirit again. Worst flying experience I have ever had."

They moved me to the front of the aircraft to expedite my deplaning process and arranged for a taxi to take me to the interview! I have never had a better flight experience!"
