And yet they conveniently said no food/drink beverage for safety reasons. Good way for the airline to save a few bucks. Other airlines (like JetBlue) block out adjacent sears and give snacks in individual bags but this... I flew several times since the pandemic began and this was by far the worst. What a joke of an airline. Never flying them again"

Pros: "One of the few non-stop flights between Seattle and Philadelphia. Timing is perfect if you can sleep on a red-eye flight. Fairly empty flight. enough empty seats to move and stretch out."
Cons: "No entertainment center built-in to the seats. On board WiFi can be used to access movies and other entertainment on the your own device but make sure your battery is charged and you have an external battery also since the seats don't have power. I tried to sleep but it is not easy for me to fall sleep when the seat back reclines only 3 inches so I didn't have luck taking a nap. Conclusion: I am not taking this flight any more. I will go back to taking will switch back to flying Delta even though there are no direct flights."

Absolutely NO compensation or reimbursement due to "weather." While I understand they can't control the weather, this is literally one of the greatest elements in their company. They should have provisions FOR it. Running out of airlines I could trust and rely on, and thought American would deliver. But No, not even this one. Extremely disappointed and staying away from AA."

What caused my discomfort during the flight was not due to British Airways or American Airlines, but rather was a problem at the Frankfurt terminal. I could not take a bottle of water thru the security check and there was no water fountain after the security check. I have a lot of food sensitivities and cannot drink bottled water. It was only at the end of the flight when I was desperate for water that I discovered I could get some tap water from a flight attendant."

Then when we ask about changing to a different flight they told us that the original flight we were supposed to be on (that we booked over 8 months ago) was completely full so that’s why we were moved, and there were no other flights available to switch to. So we accepted that. But when we printed our boarding passes, we saw that our seats were now separate from each other, and they were both middle seats! I don’t understand how booking my tickets so far in advance still resulted in these issues. We were finally able to get an aisle and window seat (not near each other) but both flights had poor to little entertainment, which I wouldn’t have expected on such long flights with American Airlines. Really was letdown. :("

We did get the proper seats, fortunately. I will never book with your company again. So dissatisfied ....I booked so early and to no advantage."

We found out right away that there was a delay and chances of missing the connecting flight from Philadelphia to Orlando were great. We requested a different booking to insure travel to Orlando, which was denied. So the connecting flight was missed and after hours arrived in Orlando at midnight. Missed my ride and all car rentals were booked. All this caused a lot of anxiety and unnecessary stress. Very disappointing. And to add to it, the flight itself was horrible and there was no entertainment available for the entire flight."

We immediately called and spoke to a British Airways agent and also a supervisor who was understanding and kind enough to accommodate us by reserving seats on a later connecting flight with American Airlines from Philly to Phoenix. We did not receive a confirming email and ended up calling back. We were then told that Vouchers will be waiting for us at the Philadelphia airport with our names."

The AA counter was chaotic, the agents were rude and had changed our seats to 2 separate areas. When we arrived in Philadelphia there were no vouchers waiting for us. The only thing that the agent could find were seat assignments . We stood in line over an hour waiting for her to figure out what had happened and almost missed our connecting flight . Even though my daughter was in a wheelchair with a brace on her leg and in pain, the agent at the counter was not very empathetic at all. The agent also kept saying that this was not correct somebody made a mistake to tell us we were booked and that person will get in trouble. Eventually she spoke with the supervisor and gave us 2 boarding passes."

She seemed tired and annoyed. I understand that feeling. I've been a FA for 16 years, still junior at my company, but it reminded me how important body language and facial expressions are when we work hospitality and customer service in the public eye. All of their correspondences to me indicated that I was leaving on the correct date but they informed Spirit Airlines the incorrect date. I ended up being a "no-show" and loss $300 because once I called the airlines they told me I missed my flight two ago prior to my scheduled trip! I was stuck in Las Vegas trying to get up enough money to get a ticket home! Why would Spirit use this third party agent after repeated issues with their service? Losing the $300 was a huge financial burden for me and my family."

Plus if you didn't check in ahead online there is a charge and you have to pre pay for bags because it is $50 per bag at airport. Will never fly with them again. Cons: "I could not even get to Myrtle Beach because of the hurricane the weekend before my return flight was scheduled. They would not even consider a refund when I tried to reach them on Monday, October 10th.First of all their Customer Service was in the Philippines and had no idea of conditions here. All he kept saying was that weather would have to interfere with my flight and the fact that I was not even in Myrtle Beach did not enter into the discussion. I will try to avoid flying Spirit in the future."
Cons: "Crew wasn't very friendly, especially at the gate in LA. I understand that they consider themselves a no-frills airline but the extra charges got to be a little ridiculous. I was surprised I didn't have to pay to use the restroom. The seats were uncomfortable and there was very little leg room. I don't think I'll be using this airline again."
Cons: "I spent a lot of time troubleshooting my entire experience with Spirit Airlines from start to finish. Kayak makes purchasing a ticket easy. However, after you get the bulk of my money, things change drastically. Spirit Airlines is deceptive – they trick you into thinking you have a good deal buying a ticket. Then you end up spending money on things you don’t normally have to pay for making it even more expensive than a normal airline AND it’s a much more annoying experience. My first problem was trying to purchase bags a few days before my flight. Spirit’s website consistently gives me an error after I put in my payment, and this isn’t the first time. I figured out after two error messages that their site doesn't play nicely with Chrome's autofill. On my third attempt, it told me I had bags but that I couldn’t print my boarding pass unless I called customer service. Calling Spirit’s customer service hotline was the most bizarre, irritating, and time-consuming experience I've ever had. They are clearly trying to frustrate people and make it difficult for them to reach an actual human being. They even state that explicitly. When I did finally reach a human being, she was shouting at me like a drunk person and I found her to be patronizing. You should know that at the end of the conversation, she read her good-bye script and hung up on me without waiting for my response. Classy. For my return trip from Fort Lauderdale, I arrived two hours before my departure yesterday morning at 6AM and was directed to stand in an obscenely long line that OUTSIDE in TERMINAL 4 in the DESIGNATED SMOKING AREA WHERE PASSENGERS ARE DROPPED OFF. We are forced to stand in line and inhale exhaust from cars and cigarette smoke from the smokers smoking in the designated smoking area AND the exhaust from cars. I have asthma and have been experiencing issues all day. It is obviously irresponsible and unthoughtful Spirit to place customers in a designated smoking area as they wait to check in but IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL. I am without health insurance and if I require medical attention to restore normal breathing patterns, I will be asking Spirit Airlines to cover that expense. I would like a full refund from Spirit Airlines."

Cons: "We were surprised to learn that our trip would cost an extra $100 as a penalty for bringing carry-on luggage. $52 for a checked bag and $55 for a carry-on. We were then repeatedly shown playful messages reminding us that we would have saved money if we had only paid for them earlier online. For our four hour and fifty four minute flight, no complimentary drinks or snacks were provided, not even water, though there were drinks for sale. Thankfully we had packed our own snacks. We felt kind of scammed with the bags. And the whimsical marketing style was insulting. Spirit Airlines apparently wants to be relatable and hip, but the actual flight experience was stingy and alienating. They did get us to our destination though."
Cons: "While booking your ticket , it's always best if the airline tells you how much it will charge for carry on , baggage and the size of personal items. The flight I flew from atlanta to Philadelphia was so filthy, the seats were not cleaned. Anyways, my wife made me promise that I never book on spirit airline again."

Cons: "I was not informed by text the flight was delayed. 3 hours. ILearn Once I arrived before 5:30 p.m. . The flight is delayed until 9:03 p.m. . They kept telling the passengers. It was a severe storm in Philadelphia... I have several other workers stated we were bumped. Because of a mechanical problem with another plane. I check back with family in the Philadelphia area. It did not storm nor rain. So spirit customer service told untruths. As per company overhead. The aircraft was extremely crowded. Crying babies. Adults who did not take a bath. Overall disgusting for my first time ever flying with Sprint. What a lasting impression"

Cons: "the charge for seat, without explanation the carry on charge, or the unclear explanation on the web as to how Spirit charges for bags it overall seemed as if the base flight price was baiting, and then during the process Spirit would tack on multiple charges and end up being the same price as all the other major airlines. no TSA pre Check I was discouraged by the seemingly deceptive pricing and webpage layout as to pricing. It just doesn't seem overly honest (it was honest though) the presentation seemed to veil the true prices as if Spirit won't be up front with who they are as an Airline or what they REALLY charge."

I went to pay for my baggage a staff member pulled me out of line and said no you need a boarding pass first so I go get my boarding pass at the kiosk then I go to pay for my bags and the person wanted to charge me $55 dollars for a carry on bag ( now this flight...all of the over head compartments were empty that should tell you something right there that your airline is a rip off) I said I thought they were $35 she said oh that's before you get a boarding pass, so your employees in the airport are setting your customers up so they have to pay more I would love a response firstname.lastname@example.org I have never had any issues with any other airlines I could keep writing about everything even to how nasty the flight attendants were unless something is done and I am compensated in some way I will never fly spirit again after this trip and will make sure my company never books a flight for any employee on spirit"
Cons: "Am a retired disabled vet and was to on my only trip for the year. I arrived for my flight 2 hrs in advance but i travel with a portable oxygen machine. I was refused boarding because I didn't have the correct letter from a doctor saying I was auth to fly on Spirit Air Lines. I am treated by the VA and they pay for the POC for me to be able to fly. I called the airline about a refund and was refused a refund because the flight had already left. I told them i was denied on the flight, but that was not an excuse. If i didn't do what is correct, I accept that, but not to give a refund is wrong. I have told everyone on Social media to be aware"

Cons: "My flight to LA was delayed by a systems crash, we spent 2-1/2 hours at the gate before departing. My return flight wagon time and I was looking forward to a relatively comfortable flight home, as i'd paid extra for an exit row seat on the aisle. instead, the person who sat next to me man-spreaded into my personal/seat space, shoving his shoulders into my ribs and making the 7 hour cross-country flight, exceedingly uncomfortable. When i voiced my complaints to him, he replied in an entitled and indignant fashion and redoubled his effort to invade my personal space. What's worse, is that this man was wearing a Spirit Airlines uniform and presumably, did not pay for his seat. I will never fly Spirit again."

Cons: "I fly multiples times a month, but never have with Spirit until now. The website said a checked back is $25, and $50 if overweight. When I get to check in they charged me $55 for checked back and $50 for a carry on (never have heard of this). I was there an hour early, and when I look at my boarding pass it said we board 45 minutes prior to take off. After running to gate, found out otherwise. Chose my seat when I bought ticket, but was given the last back corner seat on plane and I am 6'3" so could not move. The whole company is a joke and everything about them is a lie. Horrible experience."

Cons: "The crew on the flight was extremely unprofessional, suggesting that we don't "hurt one another" when we are free to take other open seats. Also, the seriousness of the crew and the responsible feeling that I normally get from a flight crew was not there. The pilot was good. But the attendants were telling " jokes". An airplane is not a comedy club. I like to feel safe, and that the staff is capable in the event of an emergency. Also, the plane seemed dirty with advertisements inside the cabin for a specific hotel in Vegas. This gave the plane a very ghetto feeling."
Cons: "I found out my flight was delayed two hours but decided to go to the airport at the appropriate time anyway. It was just a girls weekend so I wasn't in any major rush to get there. As my shuttle is taking me to the airport, I look again to find that my flight has officially went from taking off at 9:14pm to taking off at 12:12pm. When I got to the airport, it was 7pm so I would have to wait for 5 hours. I went to the Spirit counter and asked what time my flight was leaving. The man at the counter says "9:15" so I responded with "okay great so there's no delay then??" He said "yeah there's just a short delay you won't even know" I showed him my phone and asked is 12:12am the time were supposed to leave? And he said "yes". Well, then I was fuming because this customer "support" person completely lied to me. Another quite rude lady said there was absolutely nothing they could do for me and shooed me away. I was also told it was because their technology wasn't reaching flight control. I went to my gate anyway and noticed that the spirit section was completely packed-I'm assuming this issue backed up many flights. After an hour of waiting, they announced that the delay may be even longer. I immediately left because at that point I wouldn't get into my destination until 4am which wasn't worth my short visit to where I was going. Later on in the night, I looked at my phone to see what happened-it ended up being cancelled!!!! What a joke! Bad customer service, bad fees, bad way of handling their flight situations!!! Never again."
