Cons: "The front desk gate associates stated that it was a full flight and there would be ZERO spots left for carry on luggage for me in the overhead bins. Therefore, I was told I MUST check my luggage, but there were SEVERAL open spots in the overhead bins when I got there! I do NOT appreciate this!"

After all the special people (first class, mvps, etc.) then passengers without carryons then people with carryons. This would speed up the process and keep people from getting stuck behind people who are messing with their bags."

The flight rep at the counter printed a ticket and told me the number listed on it my confirmation # and I should use it on my way back. That # was expired when I was having problems checking in online."

I had an early flight and thought I'd be able to eat something with a sort of substance. I was quite disappointed, I guess I'll have to be the annoying customer who brings chipotle on the plane next time."

I called the flight attendent over to ask if it would stop and she told me it would not stop, it happens to any window seat because of the vent... I’ve flown a lot and NEVER had ice fall out of the vents repeatedly. Her response to my question was rude and she made me feel stupid for asking about the problem in the first place. The people around be we’re even shocked by her stern and rude response."

Cons: "I was given an option to change my seat at the check in kiosk, after selecting a different seat it told me they could not change my seat at that time. As soon as I boarded I asked one of the flight crew in the back if it was possible to purchase a cheese platter as I was really looking forward to it and was already hungry since I was trying to save room for it. She explained it was a first come first serve... By the time the lady got to the back she stood there for a while gossiping with another traveler without even glancing over at us and was holding our commentary cookies in her hand. She finally acknowledged us and when I asked for the cheese platter I was informed they had sold out... At that point I was HUNGRY and tired and honestly irritated that we had to sit there for several minutes without being acknowledged so she could gossip with a passenger. I ended up having to buy a box that I really didn't like but I didn't want to be cranky cuz I was hungry and I needed to eat something. Also, I had a middle seat ALL the way in the back of the plane next to a crying baby, which I couldn't change even though I was "given the option to." I have a difficult time flying if I can't see out the window. That just added to the irritation of the situation :/ I fly Alaska a lot and I was surprised at how bad this flight experience was..."

We had a pet for which we had paid for round trip reservation months ago, yet agent took quite awhile to reconcile our reservations. We stood in line for nearly a half hour during which their were very long lines at each check in point and at least one or two agents left on breaks while the lines were still very long. At Burbank the agents were fast, accurate and there were almost no waiting. The flight itself was great and the flight attendants were excellent; but not impressed at all with check in at Seattle."

2hr delay. Other airlines were all flying out on time so maybe it was staff shortage? When we eventually took off, we went from Cancun to JFK in 3 hours. Fast once in the air.

The incoming flight was two hours late, so the departure was late. Our arrival in Paris was late. We made the flight, but our luggage didn't. Our return flight from Paris to Dulles was half an hour late because of people from connecting flights. We arrived about 30 minutes late, but no big deal (unless you had a connection)"

My pregnant wife and I made it to the gate 4 minutes before the scheduled departure and they told us the plane was already gone and there was no way for us to get on the plane. Our bags did make it to Sioux Falls, so my wife didn't have her prenatal vitamins, , we had no clean clothes and we were forced to spend the night in Atlanta. The saddest part of yet another terrible experience with Delta was that they offered us a "discounted" room at a terrible Howard Johnson for $72. I looked online and the same hotel was $65 to book on Kayak. So basically Delta was trying to scam us after they screwed us. Thanks Delta! Instead we paid $200+ to stay at an airport hotel. Every time I fly Delta I regret it, yet occasionally I get forced to take their awful airline to get somewhere I need to go. It never fails to add another bad Delta experience to my long list of failings from this SAD!!! airline."

They were all full and i had no time to find one since I was waiting there for 3 hours with no informational. I slept on the floor and delta didnt even offer us a blanket. That was my worst trip ever."

When we tried to explain the previous flights she responded with “I just explained this to the other passengers...it’s not allowed.” We didn’t argue, and gave the bag to the personnel in attendance, but the tone for the duration of the flight continued."

I've been on a newer aircraft with the in-seat power and interactive screens so I know how good it can be, so this was a little disappointing."

The flight attendant, Angel lives up to her name- what an angel! I love her! She was so helpful and attentive and patient. My daughter spilled some juice on her shorts and not only did Angel help me clean up my daughter, she did not hesitate to pick up my daughter’s dirty shorts and neatly packaged it away for me! She went above and beyond her future to provide THE BEST customer service and flight I’ve had in over 20+ years of flying. Thank you, Angel, please continue to excel at exceptional customer service professional!

Cons: "We did not have dinner as we tried to get some sleep on this 6.5 hour overnight flight to London. The 767 was in a 2-3-2 configuration for economy plus and general economy. Thankfully they kept the temps cool to the point where we used our coats as additional blankets. I appreciated that the FA’s did not wake us for dinner and they closed my window shade at some point. They were 100% polite and helpful. That said, with the new Polaris Business Sears, UAL has eliminated the restrooms between Business and Economy. So it is a very long walk to the restrooms from Econ Plus and it appears that there are only 4 restrooms for about 120 passengers. Absurd. My family made do because we used the restrooms in the middle of the night when most people were sleeping but this would have been a nightmare after breakfast or with a small child. It appears that UAL has gone for profit over customer satisfaction."

Cons: "We were delayed initially because our jet was given to a different flight which had been delayed due to mechanical problems. Then our incoming flight was first from San Diego, then Los Angeles. The arrival was delayed several times. Then our boarding was delayed several times. By the time we we in the air, we were even later. The flight was so turbulent, there was no food or beverage service, which isn't important anyway since that has become a token gesture by airlines anyway. . If this was an isolated incident, I could ignore it but it seems that this almost always happens when I fly United."

Cons: "The staff from the desk was unfriendly. On boarding no one showed you where your seat is located. The food was dreadful. The same aweful pasta meal on the outbound journey was served again. During the flight I was feeling very unwell I asked the flight attendant our axeick bag which she brought, but I was told to go to the toilet. She did not return to enquire after my well being. I was in the toilet for 5 minutes. Very uncaring. The tea was cold when served"

Cons: "The tray cannot be pullled closer for eating. The seat sitting up is very uncomfortable for reading. I would have liked a pillow. Th poor man in front of me asked for a coke after the meal service was done, and the flight attendant said she had to reserve it for the next flight?! The male announcer flight attendant was very hard to understand, some of his words were slurred and garbled. And the volume was always too loud for both the male and female announcers. There was no entertainment unless you downloaded the app."

Cons: "I asked to complementary check my small carry on, but the attendants at the desk would not let me. The stewardesses were booked too closely to their last flight and we were delayed - huge oversight. Boarding was chaotic as the gate immediately across from us was simultaneously boarding and the United staff made the whole process long and miserable by failing to call the next boarding group in a timely fashion. This is not the first time I’ve felt miserable while trying to board a United flight :/."

Cons: "Chaotic boarding. Attendants could not put could together. I bought business ckass tickets to my daughter and her husbandfie their honeymoon. They could not use the business lounge: when they arrived they were told that they needed to wait in front of the boarding gate. They waited two hours asking many times why they could not get their seats. They were ordered to stand by and wait to be called. Finally they insisted and they got two sits but not side by side. It was too late to use the business class lounge. What a shame. Food was so basic. Noodles overcooked with few veggies that all. Cabin attendants we're stressed and rude"
Cons: "It appears united is unable to fly their planes on times, in particular on the East Coast. We were delayed by 90min on each legs"
Cons: "My wife and I traveled with bicycles packed in standard boxes and got hit with a whopping $230 charge per bicycle out of the blue. We were expecting no charge because the bicycles were our only check-in baggage for the trip. Couldn't believe the lack of transparency with which we got hit with this charge. Qantas, Air New Zealand, and other airlines we've taken bikes with us on our flights have charged nothing when we traveled in the same fashion. So, if you are a bicyclist traveling with your bicycle, I'd avoid the United-Lufthansa duo."

Cons: "6 1/2 hour delay due to navigation system crash. Two gate changes and a terminal change. New seats assigned, but then when 3rd plane was brought in, it had the exact configuration of the first and we were told we should use the original boarding passes. These turned out to be wrong because they reseated after the first plane went down and it’s replacement wasn’t the same configuration. We never saw that plane, or the gate it was assigned to. When we went to rebound, my wife I am were separated. We were moved to the way back (screaming baby sandwich - one in front and one behind us). Then we spent an hour in the worst turbulence I’ve seen in 20 years - I nearly vomited. the last 6 hours of this 15 hour ordeal were fine."
Cons: "Our flight to Munich arrived late. And our connecting flight to Milan was originally scheduled to leave just 50 minutes after our arrival in Munich. We did not make our flight to Milan and have lost a half day of time at our destination, as well as more than $100 in non-refundable Italian train tickets. Even if our plane had arrived to Munich on time it would have been nearly impossible to make our connecting website. Flight pairings with this short of a layover should not be suggested at this airport when travelers are required to go through passport control."

Cons: "Missed our flight from Brussels to Zurich. United said we were booked on next flight six hours later. Gave us vouchers and that was it. Went to check in and the carrier said sorry you can’t board United did not book you. The voucher just has prior info and this flight time. So we missed getting on that flight 3 total hours on the phone with United and they did nothing but put us on hold. Thank you to Brussels air who finally after many years and frustration helped us so we could leave. More than 10 hours later than we should have. Horrible experience and we lost a day of vacation and pre paid plans for the evening I will never use kayak again for international flights. As that was part of the problem per United (probably BS but won’t ever risk it again) and will never use United airlines again as their customer service and lack of caring showed that companies true colors. I hope the rest of this dream vacation is better than this nightmare was."

Cons: "This format of business class seating leaves a lot to be desired. There is literally no place to store anything except maybe your cellphone on the shelf under the TV screen. No room for a backpack on the floor - has to be in the overhead. Not convenient on an 8-hour overnight. Seats are tight - could not lay on my back - had to sleep on my side. No separation between seats - it was a 2, 4, 2 layout and the guy next to me coughed all night. At least I wasn't in one of the middle seats. Expensive flight for that type of setup IMHO. And given it was a 777, the plane was big enough."
Cons: "Lufthansa as an agent is a mistake! I had to deal with them prior to flying to the US. I have never ever had to deal with such bad service in my entire life. United was great though and I highly recommend them."
Pros: "The pilots were informative with their announcements and we were informed of turbulence before it started. We also got in ahead of schedule. I also appreciated being able to ask for a glass of water between services as I had fallen asleep."
Cons: "The negative experiences started before we got on the plane. Boarding began slightly behind schedule and was very disorganized. People were all standing in the boarding area and out into the walkway for the concourse. I feel it would be better to have boarding groups come up individually or two at a time. (While group one boards, group two convenes. Once group one has boarded, invite group three to take their place.) Once group three had boarded, an announcement was made that there was no overhead bin space availble for the entirety of group 4. It seems a bit ridiculous that nearly half the plane wouldn’t have overhead space. It took awhile to board group 4 as everyone had luggage to check and once we finally got down the jetway, we had to wait another few minutes before being able to get to our seats as the flight attendant for first class insisted on taking drink orders while she stood in the aisle. I understand this is a perk of first class but I feel it could be better executed. These seats are boarded in group one so to have drink orders incomplete by the time group four is trying to board is irritating at best and incompetent at worst. Once finally at our seats, it became apparent that the announcement about lack of overhead bin space had been made a bit early. The bins were on the full side but they definitely had space available. Also, much of the space had been taken up by jackets and bags that would have fit under the seats; which I felt could have prevented nearly all of the checked bags. The flight was uneventful with minor annoyances like having to pay for entertainment and any sort of food. Even southwest provides entertainment free of charge and I consider them to be more of a budget airline. If I fly Lufthansa again, I will not take a domestic flight through United and will instead book via southwest to and from the international airport Lufthansa flies out of."

Cons: "The tray was very dirty and obviously had not been disinfected from the previous flight. So I brought it to the attention of one of the crew members, and I felt like she made fun of me in front of other passengers for not liking my tray dirty; and she got a little paper towel for serving, wet it with a bottled water, and wiped my tray quickly. Not hygienic at all and not a word of apology. AIR FRANCE is so much better when it comes to customer service! Also I did not like the constant interruption on the speakers, very loud in my headsets and difficult to watch a movie on tiny screens. The crew members seemed very bossy and uncaring, if not actually rude."

Cons: "The check in staff were unbelievably rude nearly looked and were abrupt and dismissive to a simple question. The cabin crew looked scruffy, and clearly had a lack of pride in their job and presentation. This is the first time I have ever flown United and I must say I would avoid flying with them again if possible, which is a shame and the aircraft and the entertainment on board were good"

Cons: "I'm a disabled person, I need an aisle seat for my long legs and busted knees, but the aisle seats had about 1/3 the space for feet as the other seats. My knees were pushing into the seat in front of me. Drinks went around once about 1 hour in to the 5 hour flight, but not again after that, though they came by to collect trash 5 times. Flight crew were polite, but some clearly didn't want to be there. This is the first flight I've ever been on where I was in tears from pain, and i felt like i couldnt ask for water or even the wheelchair I needed after the flight."
Pros: "The short lines for boarding, but then again these were small flights. The flights taking off early when all passengers were boarded. The flights arriving much earlier than scheduled."
Cons: "The basic economy flight is bullshit. We both know that it's better to just buy an economic flight. So why even pretend and lie to customers to precast the basic economy flight knowing full well that's just going to force them to have to check in their bags which end up costing more than an economic flight? Why not just offer the regular economy flight price and leave it at that. If the overhead bins are full, offer the passengers a chance to check in their bags for free. What you're doing is preying on the poor who already do not have much which is why they choose the basic economy flight without realizing the full extent of the set up."

Cons: "United. September 14 Newark to Delhi Premium Economy Entertainment screen didn't work for 1st hour of the flight. the movie list was mediocre at best. The screen was smeared with some substance. The list of movies on the United entertainment app is great (via internet) but connectivity on this type of flight is spotty so the traveler is forced back to the antique screen plane system. Dinner. Butter chicken or vegetable options. Food was bland and very small portions for the length of flight. The snack was delivered immediately after dinner was picked up. I did not open it. Looked like a hard roll with something on it. Style of service is abrupt, bordering on rude. Uses terminology that non-US travelers from different cultures would not understand, for instance do you want "white" coffee. Asked me if I had someone at home to pick up after me as she felt she was cleaning too much off the floor. Her comments appeared to be directed at me but it was not my trash (and even if it was, a better approach would be recommended). The flight attendant realized she had gone too far and apologized. Then complained about this "route" being difficult, with no one listening. She concluded by wishing me a good flight and saying that she hoped that she had not offended me. I assured her that she had. Breakfast was mediocre. Egg with soggy potatoes and an inedible sausage. Did not see what they were offering in the veggie dish. Staff seems tired and not culturally sensitive. There needs to be some retraining and consideration given to long haul menus and entertainment. I take this flight at least once a year. It continues to deteriorate."

Cons: "Boarding took a long time in the plane. There was confusion as they had passengers going both ways in the aisle .. this forced several ppl to stand in the aisle a long time. One of the air hostess had a major attitude. For example one passenger who was stuck in the middle of other passengers asked her politely if she could help him put the carry on in an overhead bin near her .. and she responded "I cant help you, you need to put it up yourself sir". Not something one expects. She was also terse with passengers, ordering them in an annoyed tone."
Pros: "One of us had the last seat on the plane even though they were reserved almost a month ago. However we had signed up for basic economy so that was not a shock. What was a shock was that water was dripping from the top side track onto his lap and he had to use the provided brochures to redirect the dripping water. The steward said it was condensation and that was it. Also, since it was next to bathroom, the smell wasn't great and the small child screaming while waiting to get into the bathroom wasn't pleasant."

Cons: "We were forced to deplane in DC and instructed to go to the United customer service counter to arrange our missed connections in Frankfurt. After standing in line at the United counter for 2 hours, we were told to go to our gate to re-board our plane. we wasted all that time standing and all but 2 agents had left the counter to take a break. it was EXTREMELY STRESSFUL not knowing what would happen to our missed connections. when we reboarded WE still did not have connecting flights.Also, on the United flight to Frankfurt, I had a premium economy seat and it was HORRIFIC. the extra leg room did NOT make the seat more comfortable and I SUFFERED greatly because I am recovering from an injury. Upon arrival in Frankfurt, after a great deal of begging, I got a hotel room for the night and upgrad to economy premium for the flight from Frankfurt to Addis. that Lufthana flight was better because my seat reclined somewhat but still I had a great deal of pain throughout the flight and I would have preferred to have been upgraded to business so that I could lay flat to ease my physical pain. Overall, the experience was extremely STRESSFUL and painful and the only way, I feel that Lufthana can repair this situation is to give me a free upgrade to business on my flight home.to Miami"

Cons: "My wife and I booked a round trip to California from Connecticut. We had a layover in Dulles with plenty of time to change gates. We arrived at our gate and established our place in the waiting area. We were then required to change gates; this was not horribly stressful as the gate was near by: However, on the return flight things changed. Keep in mind that my wife has arthritic hips and knees and I have arthritic knees. Arriving at Dulles, we went to our waiting area at Gate C-19 and ordered a breakfast at a nearby kiosk. Before our order was ready an announcement stated that our gate was changing to D-24. We waited for our order but had to leave the coffees behind because the lids did not fit correctly and we didn't want to spill them on ourselves while hurrying to the new gate (about a mile away). We finally got to that gate and boarded the plane. We wanted to wait to eat our food until we were airborne. We waited on the plane for about 45 minutes in the heat. During that time the "gate attendant" announced that they were waiting for that pilot who could not be found but was in the airport. At the same time my United App on my iPhone messaged me that there was a mechanical issue with the plane and we were waiting for another plane. At the 45 minute mark we were told the plane had a mechanical issue and we would have to disembark and go to Gate D-1 (about 1/2 mile away). My wife and I were already exhausted and needed to stop, but we did not know how long we had before boarding the new plane so we pushed onward. We then were told the plane would be a couple hours and that there was snack and water at no charge. My wife and I proceeded to dissect our breakfast sandwiches to eat what ever was still less than discussing. The new plane arrived and all else went well. We were delayed over 3 hours but made it to Connecticut; exhausted and sore. We had been awake for over 29 hours by the time we hit Hartford, CT. This experience will linger in our minds for a long time and travel by United my not be possible for us. We are very traumatized."
Cons: "I had a man sit next to me who was in the wrong seat but didn't move. He told the girl to keep his seat and he would stay next to me. He was so big he was in my space and had didn't make any effort to try not to spill over in my area. I had to put a magazine next to my thigh because his body was so hot it was damp! I hated the entire trip. I was cramped up and extremely uncomfortable. This is simply unacceptable to have this happen because huge people can't fit in one seat. I want these obese people to be required to purchase 2 seats because they take mine."

Cons: "I know Hawaii is a domestic flight but offering a cookie and a bag of pretzels on an 11 hour flight is ridiculous. There was something wrong with screen at my seat. They tried fixing it but no luck. It was very frustrating. The second leg of my journey was from D.C. To Newark. A "puddle jumper "that you disembark from onto the tarmac, get to wait in the rain while they unload you "carry on" luggage from the back of the plane. Herd you onto a bus yelling at you" if your going to gate C this bus going to gate A that bus".No one to ask "how do I know what gate I am supposed to go to?". They definitely treated"commuter "passengers like sheep. "Thank You For Flying With United "blah blah blah"
Cons: "United service was uniformly poor. When we checked in at Dulles Airport, we had to go to two different counters to send our luggage. The United check-in / baggage attendant determined that two of my bags were 'oversized.' I have travelled dozens of times with these same bags, including on this trip, and none of the airport determined the bags to be oversized. The United seats, which we had purchased as "Premium Economy" from the Lufthansa site were "Economy Plus" and not worth the extra $ 275 per seat. The United plane was not well-maintained and had several obvious defects. If United wants "Star AlliNCE" to mean something, they need to do as well as Lufthansa."
Pros: "The stewards were nice and they were prompt. The plane seemed to be well cleaned inside and they were quick to get everyone boarded and bags stowed underneath. The pilot knew what he was doing and I had no worries there. Everyone was doing their jobs as well as they could be done."
Cons: "The air nozzle above my seat was broken and would not turn off so I freezing the entire flight, as well as the tray table seeming like it was meant for the lap of an infant versus myself and I can't imagine how someone with longer legs than myself dealt with the way it folded down. The take off was rough either seemingly due to tires or perhaps a rough runway. The wifi on the plane would not work. It worked ok my first flight but not on the second. I don't know why and no one knew why either, had the latest app and it was updated to the current version."
Pros: "I liked that they were polite and friendly during the national United flight groundings due to the computer error."
Cons: "I did not like the terrifying situation in which the pilot said we would be landing in 15 minutes (at this point we were close enough to the ground that I could see cars ) but then without any further announcement proceeded to point the plane upwards and started flying up up up so that all the city lights disappeared and all I could see were stars next to us. I asked 2 different flight attendants wtf was going on and they both said "oh he's just looking for smooth air" which was clearly BS because I was in the very last row of the plane and if there had been rough air I would have been the first to feel it. After inexplicably shooting upwards for what felt like an eternity we finally turned around and ultimately landed and guess what, no rough air to be found. Now I know why airplane pilots update you all the time, because when he pulls a maneuver like that without any warning it is terrifying and all I could think of was the suicidal dude in Germany from Lufthansa. Not cool. Other than that the flight was fine and they were really nice despite the like 3 hour delay or whatever it was. It cost me an extra $60 cause I arrived so late my husband and baby couldn't pick me up anymore but they offered a credit for a future flight so it's ok. I appreciate the gesture."

Cons: "The terminal number on my ticket was wrong and when me and some other customers asked the flight lady what was going on she was of very little help. Not only that but she was making a personal phone call. So I had to rush to the other end and then just to find out that they didn't have enough room to put my carry on so I had to place it enbetween my legs which made for an even more uncomfortable flight. Also one of the flight attendant was particularly rude and kept saying she had to do her job in a very rude tone to the point were an older retired man told her he's worked too hard in his life time to be talked to like that. Overall the poorest plane experience I've ever had and I fly quite a bit."

Cons: "Our incoming flight was late arriving at Dulles. We bolted from that flight to the gate for our connecting flight to GSP. Two of our party of six made it and got onboard telling staff we were coming. We arrived moments later - moments later! - but were denied access because they said we were a minute late. Our small plane was just outside the door with access door still open and staff going in and out. Next flight was 5 hours later. We asked to speak to a supervisor and that was ignored until we demanded attention. The supervisor came 1.5 hours after we were denied plane access. Customer concern was nonexistant on this day."

Cons: "We where delayed for two hours or so, if you asked upon arrving during what should have been boarding you got a curt remark no information. There way no anouncement about a delay just one that the crew arrived, nothing about why we where delayed or estimation of time when we would board. Other delayed fights where getting information over the loud speaker. The attendants left the area came back when we could board and hurded us on the plane. Not a friendly face or smile. Everyone was tired, a little civility would have gone a long way"
Cons: "I was bumped from my confirmed flight and had to sprint across the airport to catch an earlier flight where they put me in the back of the plane in a middle seat with an entertainment monitor that didn't work. The flight attendant said she'd try to reset the monitor and then never came back the rest of the flight. I also was not compensated for agreeing to take another flight than the one I booked, paid for and successfully checked in for. I also got into Austin later than I wanted with this new flight I was forced to take. Overall this experience was a terrible one unfortunately."
Pros: "Boarding was fast and easy. Crew was kind to allow me to use an empty seat in the middle row and get more space. Managed to connect to onboard entertainment with a tablet and avoided to use the tiny screen that still exists on United's 767s."

Cons: "So we arrived at the desk after a 7hr international flight ready for the final 1hr leg - only to be confronted with "flight overbooked" looking for 9 volunteers - how can you over book a 40 seat flight by 9 ???? So we had an anxious wait wondering if we'd be dumped from the flight - we weren't but it wasn't enjoyable waiting for the flight and our meeting with our grand kids."

Cons: "My connecting flight from Chicago to Madison was cancelled with no explanation and no other alternatives provided, other than to get a hotel in Chicago and try to catch a flight to Madison the next day. United said they would not cover the cost of transportation to a hotel or the cost of the hotel. In addition, my luggage was misplaced and sent to Madison and could not be located. The number United provided to me to check on the whereabouts of my bag no one ever answered, even though I called multiple, multiple times."

Then someone remembered the pets stuck in the cargo hold, and we went back to the gate. After deplaning, we stood at the gate for thirty minutes and weren't given vouchers for refreshments on the concourse nor bottles or at least bottles of water. Finally we were called for boarding, and then 10 minutes after that, the first passenger actually got on. After a second boarding we made it out to the runway... where we sat for another 40 minutes. Keep in mind, this particular plane has no seat outlets nor in seat entertainment systems, so most people had either dead or dying phones at this point, rendering the "complimentary in flight entertainment" available through the United app useless. Once we were finally in air, we weren't comped drinks or Internet or any other amenity offered by United. I've been stuck in situations like this on other airlines, but they worked to provide the barest glimmer of hospitality. Fly the friendly skies? Nah, we'll overcharge you for everything because our business model is unsustainable but our majority shareholders couldn't care less. A Star Alliance Member™."

Then someone remembered the pets stuck in the cargo hold, and we went back to the gate. After deplaning, we stood at the gate for thirty minutes and weren't given vouchers for refreshments on the concourse nor bottles or at least bottles of water. Pros: "The young lady who was the flight attendant was very nice and tried to make a very bad situation somewhat bearable. There were a number of children on the flight that she was very attentive to. I hope united treats their employees better than they treat their passengers."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for 4 hours. We were told to proceed to the United terminal in spite of the delay. There seemed to be no effort to inform or assist us. There was very little to do in this terminal but wait to see if our flight would eventually come. There were other United passengers in the terminal who were also waiting for overly delayed flights. eventually, we had a plane that was extremely small, cramped and uncomfortable. United seems to consistently oversell its seats and then tried to get people to give up their seats. Very poorly managed airline with bad customer service. Sadly, I have to say that I have never had an acceptable experience on a united flight. Will NOT take another United flight."

The fact that you get yelled at over the airline PA that if you can no longer place your carry on in the overhead bins unless you paid for it, and that your bags must now go underneath the seat in front of you, when leg space is already tight. And, no, I am not overweight by a long shot."

Add getting on and off the plane and to the gates and baggage claim and you are without anything to drink for 6 hours or more.... Pay for water is above and beyond. Some people arrive late and literally have to run to their plane. Hydration is a huge factor in maintaining a good outlook, being able to think clearly, and maintaining ones health-avoiding blood clots etc. . For safety reasons, please offer water! This should be poured and not in individual plastic bottles which are dangerous and polluting."
Pros: "The crew were very nice and professional, the flight was on time as well."
Cons: "Yes it's a budget airline but the seats are not very comfortable and there is absolutely no leg room unless your 5'4 and they do not recline. The seating arrangement is nuts they choose for you, you can choose yourself if you join their club and you still have to pay. The carry on/checking fee is $30 if your bag is 50 lbs or less. Otherwise you will pay $75 I believe. The only thing that is free is water by the cup otherwise the small bottle water is expensive. Yes it's a budget airline so remember, on longer flights I think I would rather pay more and have a more comfortable flight. Also the Airbus 319/320 that they use suck. They are old and you feel a lot of turbulence."
Pros: "The plane was spacious."
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable with no recline or movable headrest options. Paying for a carry on bag was outrageous. More expensive than a checked bag. I checked in online and meant to pay for a checked bag, but accidentally payed for a carry on. When I went to check in in the morning for the flight they wouldn't refund me a portion of the money. Paying for soda or juice, also ridiculous. The delays were also absurd. We did not get explanations for why were just sitting on the run way and not taking off."
Pros: "It was relatively empty so the middle seat was open"
Cons: "The plane was 5 hours late for absolutely no reason. Weather was fine, no mention of mechanical issues. My guess is that it wasn't booked enough so they tried to combine it the later flight. The worst part was they wouldn't give a definitive time to prevent any planning. I ended up leaving the airport and going out with friends, but compulsively checking to see if it was leaving earlier per their email. It ended up being 5hrs and 45 minutes late, getting me back home at 1:30 in the morning."
Pros: "Quick and easy boarding. Smooth flight that left online."
Cons: "No entertainment at all on flight, seat wouldn't recline (after paying for one that would), and sat at the gate for hours before finally parking (making us upwards of an hour late...)"

Cons: "Baggage service in Denver. Considering that Denver is a major hub for Frontier, I would have thought that the baggage claim process would be good. On the contrary, we and about 15 - 20 other customers waited more than 90 minutes for our baggage. The conveyer belt bringing the baggage up to the carousel stopped twice. The second time, it was not fixed for nearly 30 minutes - AFTER THIS WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THREE DIFFERENT FRONTIER BAGGAGE PERSONNEL. Frontier baggage personnel were ineffective and indifferent. I asked one Frontier employee about the delays - the only response I got was " They were a little short handed and little behind. " " Total Indifference " seems to bear the Frontier customer service motto as far as baggage is concerned - and I paid for the damn baggage service."
Cons: "Baggage claim. We waited 90 minutes to get our baggage at the main hub of Frontier in Denver. Frontier baggage employees were incompetent and totally disinterested and and had no idea there was any problem with baggage. When this was brought to the attention of three different Frontier employees, no fix was made for nearly thirty minutes - and this was the second time that the conveyor belt stopped. Frontier employees were totally indifferent and did nothing to personally help rectify situation. Customers from multiple flights were waiting extended periods of time. Horrible service and enough to make paying customer refuse to use Frontier in the future."
Pros: "I'll give a thumbs up to a pleasant crew each flight, however, tho both flights were nonstop, both were very late to leave and tho the pilot said he'd make up time going east, that didn't happen and no apologies/explanations. To exacerbate the length of time traveling, both flights baggage retrieval were an hour. Add to that the really ridiculous hour long wait on the runway after landing because a gate wasn't available! Overall Frontier is pretty bad-they obviously do not employ enough people nor implement plans for staying on time or at least working to minimize delays due to weather issues. I have always left late on frontier but succumbed for the last time for a cheaper priced nonstop; it was definitely not worth it. To be clear about judging the length of time: flight out was scheduled to leave 1030 mountain and arrive 400 eastern. It was 630 eastern before we had our bags. Return flight was scheduled 500 eastern departure and 600 arrival mountain. It was 1000 mountain by the time we got our bags. One last comment-there were hundreds of unclaimed bags surrounding the frontier carousel...wonder where they were actually supposed to be???"

Cons: "I was charged $45 at the gate to bring a carry on onto the plane. My carry on fit into the "personal item" box which meant that I wouldn't have to pay for a carry on, but they laughed and said that I would still have to pay This was not made clear anywhere during the purchasing process and represented a 35% increase in the fare at the gate. I was furious and I wil never fly frontier again."
Cons: "Seating is extremely uncomfortable. They are fixed, leave little leg room (it is hard to retrieve things from the floor), and very, very firm. Overall it is the most cramped seating I've every encountered on an airline!"

Pros: "Arriving at Denver, NO gates available...we sat on the tarmac about 1 hour, with the seat belt light lites on. Captain told us there would be a delay until a gate opened up. He, nor any of the stewardesses made any other contact for at least 1/2 hour. Finaly, the captain said we could use the restrooms as we waited. NO contact from the flight crew, or other contact from the Captain until we were finally led to a gate. Communication is everything. It would have eased the temperaments of the passengers a great deal to have more updates, and even the presence of a stewardess. NOTHING>"
Cons: "The PA system is incredibly loud, especially on the ground. I ended up trying to cover the speaker with my hand. Should be super easy to turn down the volume for various conditions like boarding and taxiing"

Cons: "When we checked in at the counter they did not inform us about carry-on charges. Most airlines don't charge fees for carry-ons, but frontier does. We had to pay $60 each for small carry-on at the gate. This practice is unfair to people who are not familiar with cheap airline business models. They should be more transparent about their fees on the ticket and at the counter. This cheap airline is so cheap that they couldn't hire enough staffs at the DCA gate. There's only one staff checking in the tickets at the gate and we had to wait until everyone went into the plane to pay for our $60 check in fees."
Pros: "I'm cool with saving a few bucks and not getting free soda and peanuts."
Cons: "I feel like Frontier takes the no frills thing a bit extreme, and then relies on the customer to work within the confines of their rules without making it super clear what those rules are. Seats a VERY uncomfortable, thin almost non-existent padding over hard plastic. Seats also cost money and you're not offered to buy your seats ahead of time but only when you check in, or if you know ahead how Frontier operates. Puts some folks in the position of having to buy expensive seats on the spot at check in. Also this is my 3rd Frontier flight in as many months and every time something has gone wrong, delays, or computers down. 1 more chance with me on my flight home in 2 weeks. If it messes up again, I'm officially never booking again."
Pros: "Frontier at one time was a decent airline, not any more. You pay to either carry on or check a bag, carry on is more expensive. No reclining seat, no leg room unless you want to pay another added fee for the privilege. No beverage unless you pay extra yet again. Their only redeeming quality was a safe flight and our bags didn't get lost. Never flying Frontier again."
Cons: "Frontier is an airline that calls itself low cost but the prices do not match the value. The star rating denotes a comparison to other airlines"

Cons: "Didn't like that my seat was hard and uncomfortable and didn't seem to recline. Both my flights were delayed; waited an hour for baggage transfer from a connecting flight that really should have been sent the next day. Had to pay for a soft drink. Don't like all the extra costs on this airline. Might be more tolerable if the comfort level was higher. No entertainment folks, so be sure to bring your own, along with peanuts, drink or any other snack you may want. I will be sure to research airlines better before booking next time."
Pros: "The staff was very personable and helpful, and there was plenty of leg room onboard. Heading into Denver, our flight was late and the staff let everyone onboard know that our group needed to exit the aircraft first. Those onboard were more that happy to ensure we made our connection."
Cons: "We had difficulty getting checked in as the website crashed and was not available before we headed to the airport. Once there, we did get to the gate easily enough, only to have our flight delayed in Denver. We had to sit on the tarmac for over half and hour before we could get to a gate. I'm also not a big fan of the 'pay for everything separately' type of fare. These days, travel is expensive enough without having to nickel and dime everything, including bags and snacks."
Cons: "1. They overbooked the flight and then bumped two of my friends from the flight without any prior notice. Friends were stranded. 2. The flight arrived 20 minutes early, and captain bragged, but then we couldn't get a gate (at Frontirler's hub no less) and we sat on the tarmac close to 50+ minutes, making us over 30 min late. 3. Then it took over 30 min to get checked bags."
Pros: "Gate agents and flight crews were very nice people."
Cons: "Seats were barely minimum quality, no entertainment systems, no food (not even a little bag of peanuts or pretzels), flights were late, and on the last leg I missed my connection, partly because we were late, but also because there was no ground crew to get the plane to the gate, so we waited over 15 minutes just meters from the dock, and watched the ground crew handle several other planes down the line, during which time my last flight must have taken off. I was rebooked on the next flight to my destination, even mentioning my checked bag, which I hoped would also be placed on the next flight out. That last flight was also delayed in departing, and when I arrived at my destination, my bag did not. I filed a claim, and was told I'd receive an email with a claim # and contact info, and my bag would be delivered to my home the following day. No emai arrived, and no bag arrived. I have filed another claim via the airline's web site, so we'll see what happens. Also, they charge high prices (IMO) for checked bags, carry-on bags (1 personal item is free), and seat selection. Not as economical as it seems at first! I doubt I will ever use this airline again."
Pros: "My husband said that there was a little more room than usual in the seats, in part bc the seats don't have a full size drop down tray. I did appreciate that the seats were comfortable even though they don't tilt back, and since they don't tilt back, it means you don't have the person in front of you tilting all the way back into your space."
Cons: "Frontier is really just another cheap airline that will charge you extra for everything now. It's annoying enough that you have to pay to get a seat assignment and to take a bag (carry on or check) but when the flight attendant said it would cost be $1.99 to get a cup of coffee, that was it for me. I also found the dinky little half trays annoying - there's no way to do anything on them. and since they don't lock, every child on the plane spent the entire trip dropping them down to hear the loud sound they made. Also with the arm rests. Oy. Also, the board of our flight out of Denver was ridiculous. The flight was delayed quite a bit and then Frontier check in person not once but twice announced we would begin boarding only to then realize it wasn't ready yet and shut the doors. It was really weird."

Cons: "Boarding was completely disorganized. The attendant shouted the boarding order which was completely ignored. Our flight was delayed but we didn't know because because the sign indicated that it was "On-time" because we were held in a holding pattern for more than 45 minutes our plane ran low on fuel and we had to be diverted to Colorado Springs to refuel. Because of these delays we missed our connecting flight. We stood in line for more than an hour to see when we could fly out. We were told the airline would not compensate us for a hotel room even though the next flight out was not to be until the afternoon of the next day. Because of a convention in town there were NO hotels available. I am a 70 year old woman and I had to spend the night in the airport with my grandson. I have not had any sleep and we are still waiting (3 & 1/2 hours to go as of now) for our flight out. Because Frontier does not partner (I think this is likely the other way around) with any of the other airlines we could not even get a flight with one of them. Beyond that the seats are plastic with barely any padding and most uncomfortable. I will NEVER use this airline again. I am outraged."

Cons: "This is a very stripped down way to travel. Expect to be nickeled and dimed for everything. Carry on ran me $40. However, they don't check if you actually paid the carry on fee and put your things in the overhead compartment. I watched people putting the backpacks and other items up there (and they did not pay). Additionally, nothing is for free on board- food and drinks will cost you (even a soda). The worst was not realizing you are assigned a seat (free), I got the middle seat (yay)! If you want to check in and select a seat, it will cost you $9 to $45 for any seat (they also do not recline)... Just crazy! My trip ended up costing me the same amount as a Virgin America ticket I passed up because it was too expensive."

We will never fly Frontier again - it was a huge fiasco."

I was supposed to fly on a Thursday, but because I was passing through Denver and a blizzard had closed the airport the DAY BEFORE, Frontier's flight was cancelled on Thursday. First I spend an hour and fifteen minutes on hold before finally giving up and calling back in the middle of the night. Then I waited fifteen minutes to speak to someone, who informed me that the earliest they could get me a flight would be TUESDAY. That is FOUR DAYS from my day of departure. My only options were a refund or a Tuesday flight. I asked to speak to a manager, but the employee refused to transfer me and eventually hung up on me. This was hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever had with an airline. I am still fighting for a refund, after I had to purchase a day-of flight with another airline to reach my destination. It required me to fly from a different airport and to a different airport, which was a nightmare for my other travel plans. Needless to say, I will never fly Frontier airlines again, and will never recommend them to anyone."

Cons: "I'm sure you get this all the time and you clearly have thought about it but when you add up all of the ala carte extras, then the fact is another airline would likely be better. I spend $16 on the seat and $40 on the carry on. Interesting nickel and dime concept for sure. But then I get to the seat and it doesn't recline. OK, that's fine I guess I only paid $16 for the seat. But what's with that thing you call a "pull down tray". You can't get a computer on it, even my tiny MAC. So I put my briefcase on my lap and I guess made my own little table. That's a bit much."

No screen for entertainment, tray table was less than half the normal size, uselss, snack choices, had little that one might consider healthy. A lot of junk food, and a huge offering of alcoholic beverages. Could we maybe have healthier food. It could still be pre-packaged somehow. Cost of carry on: $30. Checked suitcase: $25. That did not really make any sense, other than they make more money that way. Also irritating that if you want to have a specific seat, rather than waiting for what you might get at the airport, you have to call them, and pay $13 for a seat reservation. They are nickel and diming you, or rather in dollars. It is a rip off."
Cons: "Overall not happy with my Frontier experience. Extra charges for bags and seat assignment are really ridiculous if they aren't explained upfront. Would have booked on a different airline if I'd realized those fees would drive up my fare another $50. After all that the plane itself feels crowded and uncomfortable. Their "schedule" is also misleading and neither of my flights took off or landed as advertised. I also really hated watching flight attendants (people responsible for your safety!) finish each flight by pitching a credit card. Truly awful."

Cons: "When we obtained our boarding passes, the Assistant could not speak English very well and kept pointing at our computer screen from behind her desk-thanks, but we didn't need her help. Upon boarding, we were taken aside to have our bags checked. We were told that both bags needed to be checked, and it would be $60 per bag, total $120. We were not told why because again, the Assistants could not speak English. They again, just pointed at the sign on the side of their desk and to the bag measurements. One of the bags fit in the overhead compartment, and we were not told why we had to pay for it to be checked. The flight was at most 60% full. There was plenty of overhead space. On top of all of this, when we checked in for departure with the same airline, the Assistant told us both of our bags were free because the person with whom I was traveling was military!!"
