I realize this is making money for Delta but the cost is being paid by people being hit in the head with luggage and the crew's unavailability to deal with other issues."

I had checked the status that night when I checked in and early in the morning and the system said that the flight was on time. It wasnt until I reached the airport and the lady behind the baggage counter told me that the flight was delayed for two hours. I went to go eat with my daughter at the Chilis restaraunt. I figired since the flight was delayed why not have some lunch and head to the plane an hour before take off time. I left the restarant and went through screening. One of the TSA memebers asked me why was I going in so early when the flight was on delayed. I let them know that the flight was suppose to be taken off in an hour so they let me through. As I'm walking through the terminla they have someone walking bu asking if anyone was getting on the frontier flight. I told them that I was on that flight and they told me I needed to hurry up because the plane was about to leave. I became nervous ans started running down the gate to make it to the plane. I'm running with a two year old so Im pretty sure that you can only imagine how difficult that was. Once I reached the gate I was out of breath and it was suppose to be eight minutes before we took off. However we sat on the plane for about another thirty minutes before we left. I feel as though the communication with the airline is not there 100% and if you are sitting in an airport you should be able to hear the update especially when they are not planned ir taking place at a time that is different from what was already relayed."

Air turns on, but still we wait. And wait and wait, all the while Spirit sends me a total of FOURTEEN delayed takeoff and arrival emails. As if I couldn't already get the gist sitting on the plane waiting waiting waiting. Finally, we get rolling, but never is there any acknowledgment that we've been waiting or that they're sorry for the continued delays or something nice yadayadayada. Last Spirit flight I'll take."
Cons: "The flight was three hours late"
Pros: "They were honest of why we were delayed. The crew member that showed up was pleasant and definitely felt bad."
Cons: "I did not enjoy getting to the airport at 5am and not leaving until noon. The updates that were false. If it's delayed I get it but why string us along with 4 new flight times? It made the experience worse as we would get our hopes up, close out tabs and then find out it was delayed again. I fly a lot and this was my worst experience by far. Love your prices but definitely not worth the experience. Not writing off the airline but was very displeased."

Pros: "2 flight delays and then a cancellation. Wasted our Saturday at the airport. Then they can't rebook us until Tuesday-they did not demonstrate care. Here is your $ back for this leg of the flight-could not rid of us fast enough. Now we had to book last minute with another airline, paid crazy price for the one way trip and from the West Palm Beach airport around 40 miles away-had to get there on our own. Charge you for everything crazy $. The discounted advance price for a carry on bag is $45 each way. Assigned seats-we charge you for that too. The smallest seats, -0- recline matches their-0- cushioned seats, no drinks or snacks, no movie, not even music, not even water. No wonder there was a tiny tray. Going out of Newark was fine. Even arrived early and the employees were good. That was all. Spirit airlines-Never again!"

Cons: "We were packed in so tight that getting up to go to the bathroom was a major struggle..."
Cons: "Ground crew was rude and unhelpful- they charge $55 for carry on if you dont pay through website, but the website wouldnt work, and the ground crew wasnt willing to help, or just charge me the $35 that I would have to pay throught the online payment. AND I was supposedly working with MIA, the supervisor of all the ground crew in Philly airport."

Cons: "I booked this flight for my adult child through KayakThere was no indication of a fee for a small bag. Most airlines allow one free bag and backpack. Although the flight was cheap the $50 for a small checked bag was steep. Based on that alone I would not book through spirit."

Cons: "There was over a 3 hour delay with only a minimal time notice. We were stuck at the gate after all restaurants had closed and received no compensation for time lost, connections lost and a general sense of Spirit airlines not caring about the concerns of their customers. I will likely never fly with this airline again, and would recommend to anyone who asked to fly a different airline."
Pros: "Liked absolutely nothing about my first experience with Spirit."
Cons: "Aside from the initial delay which made me miss my connecting flight, I was moved to another flight to Fort Lauderdale. That flight was 3 hours behind. After waiting an additional hour they finally proceeded to board us. While waiting to get boarded, the staff at the airport was being very rude when all we wanted was answers as to why the flight was so delayed. After being boarded we were seated for 45 minutes to an hour waiting to take off. An announcement came on stating that the flight was delayed but we would be on the first flight out at 1pm. This was very unprofessional on their part since I had a road trip planned. I slept on the hard floor of the LAX airport only to wake up to another delayed flight the following morning with 3 gate changes. Throughout this entire experience the staff was nothing but rude and uninformative. Ruined my trip and the trip of many others. Will be posting a Post on all my social media accounts about my experience after my shortened trip is over."

Cons: "Flight was delayed several hours. The staff did not inform us of the several delays. Only notification that was given was a gate change. We didn't have a pilot so we sat in the plane forever. Horrible service, but u get what u pay for with with spirit. Learned my lesson and will pay little extra to not fly spirit airlines."
Cons: "I have traveled around the world as an auditor. I am no rookie to the game. I laughed when they informed me my carry on was $54 since my flight was purchased for $45 (one way to New Orleans). I was in the boarding area 1 hour prior to loading (Not fully paying attention). I was standing 30 feet from the gate 20 minutes before boarding time (paying full attention) and did not realize they had already loaded the plane. They said they called my name 3 times which means I couldn't /didn't hear them. My bags left without me. I ended up buying a ticket on delta because I had to link up with my family for a reunion. This was one of the most memorable crappy experiences of my adult life."
Cons: "Flight attendants are rude. Check in clerks are rude. Baggage policy is a scam. No extra charge for a bag to fly out. But the same bag was $30 extra to come back. Never fly Spiritr again."
Pros: "Spirit allowed me to still check in and they were so nice at the counter and said " you have plenty of time". That re assured me and I got the first seat in the plane even though I was the last one on with no one sitting next to me and extra leg room. I have long legs ."

Cons: "They charge for carry-on, and even to select a seat after you've already paid for a seat. No wi-fi, and even a soda or bag of nuts costs $$. That, and a > 1 hour delay (They blamed ATC) mean I'll never fly Spirit again. All those charges moved their final price from lowest to one of the highest."
Pros: "The price was great. I pack light and take advantage of the "bare fare" offered. Flight was uneventful which is how it should be."
Cons: "I would like to see a more streamlined process for checking the baggage rather than waiting in line. My wife checked a bag so we had to wait in line right as we arrived. Was hoping this "hands-off" approach would streamline the waits in line."

Pros: "The crew was nice, friendly. They moved a pregnant couple from my row to "somewhere more comfortable" which left my row empty and I was able to lay down which was much better than the uncomfortable seats with almost no leg room. The landing felt very smooth."
Cons: "The line to check baggage was the super long, so long that crew members kept passing through calling for passengers of the next flights so as to expedite the checking of their luggage. I will never fly with checked bags on this airline again. The seats are very cramped. There is no legroom and the chairs don't recline. Everything is an extra charge, even snacks. There are no in-flight entertainment options unless you count the sudoku puzzles that print at the bottom of your boarding pass. I'd use this airline again only for short trips with no bags only bc their prices are cheap."

Cons: "At 6'2" tall, the seating is terrible. I felt cramped and uncomfortable the entire flight. The seats do no recline and with a late evening flight could not get comfortable to sleep. I was surprised that everything was ala carte --- from printing my boarding pass, to seat assignment, to charges for carry on bags - very poor in my rating. I will not choose to fly spirit again --- the extra costs may it even more expensive than a Delta or AA flight."
