Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
"No seat assignment. Was put in the absolute last seat in the plane. Flight was delayed because of an electrical issue which also broke the AC until we were taxi-ing. It was hot."
"Plane was hot. Flight handling was poor (rough takeoff, landing). Young and inexperienced pilot. Short flight made it bearable. If it was longer than an hour, that would have been terrible. Beverage service? Warm water. Disappointing."

Pros: "Took extreme measures for COVID prevention. It felt very safe"
Cons: "When I pick up my bags"
Pros: "We needed a seat belt extender and one of the crew members noticed and was so kind in getting that. No embarrassment or drawing attention to the customer. His name? David"
Pros: "Boarding was very efficient. Flight attendants were helpful and kind and seemed to care."
Cons: "We booked basic seats knowing we might not sit together however we did not know they would separate children. They put my husband and I in an exit row and my daughter at the back of the plane with strangers. I was not comfortable with strangers being responsible for my child. I assumed they would seat children with at least one parent. We did ask to move at the gate and the accommodated us with the last row on the plane. No recline, no window, and right next to the bathrooms. We took it to be with our kid but this policy needs to be revised. Kids should always be seated with the adult responsible for them... who knows what kind of person might end up next to my child. Not to mention if she had needed something is the stranger gonna take care of it? It’s just a bad practice imo."
Pros: "On this short flight, the flight attendant was wonderful, accommodating special requests and being fully engaged with passengers. On time departure, early arrival, overall a nice quick flight to Duluth."
Cons: "CRJ200 planes are always a bit cramped, and having to gate check anything bigger than a small purse is an inconvenience. Hopefully the fleet will change over to the Embrair planes soon. Beware 'Basic' flyers (cheap tickets): you are not eligible to take an earlier flight even if available."
Cons: "No delay"
Cons: "Couldn't have been better"
Pros: "Crew very good"
Cons: "Breakfast sandwich was close to tasteless; all bread, very very little filling."
Cons: "It made no sense to board an hour and a half before takeoff."
Pros: "The crew was very friendly. Boarding was quick."
Cons: "Seat size in Comfort+ was still cramped. The person sitting next to me(in the middle was a fairly large (height not weight) and his arms and shoulders were pretty much flowing into my seat( I sat by the window). Leg room of course was fine. Very cold draft coming from the airplane(window?)"
Cons: "No issues at all"
Cons: "Plane journey awful. Speaker had a loud buzzing noise all the time so never heard a word bad landing. Rattling plane Very cold."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Take a long time to taxi to the gate & getting off the plane."
Pros: "Overall experience was awesome. Always love to fly delta. Nice spacious and clean aircraft. Enjoyed the entertainment system."
Pros: "It got me home, eventually."
Cons: "Poor communication, a 6 hour delay followed by a 7 hour layover (during which we had to sleep on an airport floor because Delta couldn't offer us any hotel vouchers). Gate agents disappeared after 7pm becuase they were due to be done with their shifts when our flight was originally supposed to leave at 6 pm. It felt like we were trapped in the movie The Terminal. Oh! And our bag was misrouted, because that was just how things went those 2 days. All in all a 6 hour trip turned into 18 hours. I could have driven home in that amount of time!"
Pros: "Everything was in order"
Cons: "None really"
Pros: "The gate agent and cabin crew handled passenger's misery with friendly grace and professionalism. Also, it was an old plane and so the seats, even in coach, were comfortable."
Cons: "Plane was around 45 minutes late in arriving at our Minneapolis gate. Flight was further delayed by something (unspecified) being "frozen." WORST part was that the temperature in the seating area at the gate was horribly cold. Departing passengers at a neighboring gate were bound for Fargo and sat with their parkas on and with parka hoods up. We Houston-bound had packed our coats & boots and were shivering. Then when we finally boarded the crew announced that the plane's water system was broken and so we would have no hot coffee or hot tea or hot anything. No water, also and obviously, in the restroom sink. But sani-wipes were provided in the sink basin."
Cons: "On the MSP to ATL leg the gate crew made a huge deal about checking rolling bags. They even stopped us at check-in and nearly begged us to check our bags pointing to the backed up jetway. But we had a lot of unpacking to do before checking our bags so we politely declined three times. On getting to our seats there were at least 8 open slots for bags near us. I heard a crew member call forward to say "tell them no more rollaboards" so they forced everyone left to check. On departure they slammed shut several very large empty overheads. WTF"
"Everything went perfectly. Check-in, bag drop, etc. The flight and crew were excellent."
Pros: "The crew was clearly concerned with the covid rules, but just as concerned for passenger's needs. Outstanding performance in difficult circumstances."
Cons: "Missed connecting flight to El Paso and had to wait for hours in the airport on standby"
Cons: "Great flight"
Pros: "I was lucky enough not to be put into a middle seat or next to a stranger during this pandemic."
Cons: "No social distancing and no enforcement of wearing a mask properly. Wearing one on your chin or half of your mouth with your nose hanging out needs to be corrected. Empty seats should be utilized for social distancing regardless of fare. First class and the back half of the planes were practically empty while everyone was in the center. We should have been allowed to spread out."
Pros: "Good seats, comfortable w headrest adjustable"
Pros: "The crew was great!"
Cons: "We had a difficult time getting in the air in the air. We left 1.5 hours late! Not AA fault!"
Cons: "Flight attendant was exceptional."
Cons: "The flight was delayed."
Pros: "Crew was fine."
Cons: "The first class seats on these newer 737-800s are VERY disappointing. Width is ok, but legroom is on par with economy expectations. With my tray out and the person in front of me reclined, I could barely see my laptop. There is also very little space under the seats, especially for the aisle seat."
Cons: "The flight attendant that helped passengers in the main cabin was rude, lacked empathy, and lacked resourcefulness. She argued about throwing away a drink that she poured, didn’t care to explain things to passengers when asked i. e. why charging outlets were not in service, and her tone was rude ..."
Cons: "I've flown American airlines twice this year. The service and flights have been very good. One thing I'd like to see is a variety of snack options."
Pros: "Landing and take off."
Cons: "Nothing. Everything was great!"
Pros: "leg room was decent I always love the in flight interactive map with routes and nearest cities."
Cons: "Headphone jack for media watching did not function properly."
Pros: "The gate crew and flight crew took extra care of my wife, who has MS and related difficulty walking. They showed great care - very friendly and professional. Pleasant experience all the way through."
Cons: "Seats were a little close together, so my knees were always touching the seat in front of me. Not terrible, but not ideal. I'm 6'1" and my legs are a bit long."
Cons: "The security check line was about a mile long at the Terminal 1, but that's not the airline's fault."
Cons: "Once we landed, we waited on the tarmac for good 20 minutes because something (I didn't understand what) was blocking the gate."
Pros: "Nice quick, timely flight."
Cons: "BARELY made the flight..delays leading to it. Ridiculous waiting on the Tarmac."
Pros: "Everyone was super friendly. The plane was clean and comfortable and the food was great for airplane food."
Pros: "Generally, the stewardess are new (slow service), but very kind and considerate."
Cons: "I take this flight quite a lot. These comments are for this flight (MIA/MSP) - but not necessarily only for this exact flight that I took on 10/1. To be clear - the crew says "this is not AA", it is Republic Airlines". Well, they must think of themselves very poorly. Their food in first class is always changing - oh, I meant only the names for the same exact meal change. "Grilled Chicken with Couscous", "Grilled Chicken with Risotto", etc.. - all cold meals as they do not have an oven/microwave? on the plane. They are charging first class international prices for economy domestic service. For this amount of money, they should have better meals and a more modern airplane. The first class is always freezing (even in summer) while the rear cabin where the crew stays when not working, is hot. So if they make the first class happy with the correct temperature, they cook in the back. I have also observed more people than usual coughing and getting colds - both ways - than any of the other flights I take regularly (over 115,000 miles on AA this year). I would suggest that AA make it clear that Republic must offer better service to their customers - especially for the large airfares they are receiving."
Pros: "They seem to have more time for the passengers then other airlines do"
Pros: "The flight was on time, cabin crew looked nice and professional, AA stuff at the airport of departure was very helpful with complicated check-in procedure."
Cons: "It was a short flight (less than an hour) and only complimentary drinks were offered, no little snacks (like pretzels, peanuts or cookies)."
Pros: "Let's see - I was in first class. The flight itself was fine - and only one hour + late!"
Cons: "Food - Served the "breakfast" (when it was called a protein plate) I had coming (into MSP). for "lunch" on the way back (called it a meat plate for lunch. One slice turkey, one slice jamon, one egg, cinnamon roll and fruit. Just because they don't want to serve bread - they call it a protein plate? I'm not on a protein diet. Food was pretty sick for the amount I paid for the fight. Stewardess said it was against Republic's rules to give a customer a can of tonic water (so I could add to the small amount of vodka) - she also told me that it was against Delta's, American's and United's rules to give a can - strange? First Class seat did not recline. First Class was freezing per every flight on this segment (the stewardesses sit in the back and don't want to be uncomfortable - if they make the front warm - the back is too hot for them (not joking on this one). So many things to list - that I will finish on the AA site."
Cons: "Cabin was like an icebox. People were wrapping up in sweaters and jackets. Many raised hands observed attempting to close the overhead vents. Multiple complaints to flight crew yielded a minor improvement but it was still on comfortably cool."
Pros: "The crew was very good. The made sure we were informed and helped get people rebooked."
Cons: "We were delayed by about 2 and 1/2 hours. Which I get no one can control a maintenance issue, just made for a hectic day"
Pros: "Friendly staff great pilots we got up and down safely...."
Cons: "No time to grab lunch all I had was pretzels do you"
Cons: "Flight delays and cancellations."
Pros: "Called 1-800 hotline and got a new flight"
Cons: "Was at gate onntime for flight. At boarding time passengers were informed if there was an issue with the plane and maintenance is on their way to check out the problem. 30 minutes later we were still till that maintenance is on their way. One hour later there is still no information as far as when the fight will leave but they kept updating the boarding time. There was only one person of the counter who could help re-assign passengers to different flights due to their layovers. After waiting in line for 40 minutes and the line making no movement I called the airline 1-800 hundred number and explain my situation to the American Airlines Airlines representative. they really give me a new flight that left 20 minutes later after my call if I did not call I would not mean it that flight nor any other fights that morning because they're all in the afternoon."
Cons: "Bathrooms didn't work delaying initial departure an hour. Ran to connecting flight and made it prior to door being closed. 12 passengers in total were told that we would be boarded and then were abrubly told none would be boarding our final leg to the Caymans even though our seats were available. Horrible company culture not focused on customers."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and efficient, the pilot kept the passengers informed about the delays and updated gate info, etc. well. The seats and interior were cleaner and in better shape than I remember from the last time I flew American."
Cons: "The flight was delayed waiting for crew. The pilots arrived, then a couple of stewards and finally the last steward. Then had to de-ice and wait in line for takeoff. Made my connecting flight with 6 minutes to spare. Never received beverage service. Took 20 minutes to do the first 6 rows and then was discontinued because of turbulence."
Cons: "Took off late from Minneapolis only to announce that there was something wrong with the plane, no explanation as to what but that we had to circle to burn off fuel before returning to Minneapolis. Switched to a flight to D.C. with a connection to get to LGA. As soon as we sat down on that flight an announcement was made that we wouldn't make our connecting flight. Got to D.C. and asked to switch to go into Westchester instead of LGA which we were denied. So changed to another connecting flight to LGA that didn't take off on time. Offered nothing for any of the inconveniences. Etc."
Cons: "was seated between 2 to very overweight persons, the person in the aile side, extrememly heavy needed extension belt, plus removing the arm rest next to me and using great part of my seat. not a very comfortable situation and the plane was FULL, no empty seats"
Cons: "eh. not enough space, like most airlines these days. Flight wasn't long enough to hate it though."
Cons: "I left an expensive Bose head set in my seat that could not be found....or did smobody decide it was better in their possession.?"
Pros: "All hope was lost until Greg came to our rescue. We made our connecting flight on time and didn’t have to reschedule the entire trip until the next day- losing out on lodging and plans abroad."
Cons: "The way this flight was cancelled due to weather and couldn’t be rescheduled by anyone at the airport, on the phone — knowing it was due to the size of the plane and the weather conditions. I wasn’t even offered a voucher or accommodation for what I was being told would be a 24-hour delay. That was until we met Greg, he literally saved our trip and our experience with American Airlines."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and competent."
Cons: "Airlines have an industry wide problem. They INTENTIONALLY make every part of flying miserable so that passengers will pay anything to make it less painful. For example... if you want to make boarding quicker, build the cost of checked luggage into ticket prices so that you don't have people carrying everything on and clogging up the process. Or use the existing and publicly available research to improve boarding mechanisms... but that would mean you lose an opportunity to squeeze extra cash out of people for 'priority boarding'. This phenomenon is real, and currently be investigated by congress. Call your senator."
Pros: "Boarding was easy and flights were on time."
Cons: "Crew could have been a little more friendly and the planes were a bit dated...although I know AA is in the process of replacing their fleet."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled we were re-routed and didn't get there until 24hours later."
Pros: "The flight staff did the best they could for how few of them there were."
Cons: "Flight cancelled, and the gate was understaffed, so it took forever to even get up to the counter to try arranging alternate flights. Also, the Kayak/Webjet tickets we were issued interfered with the process as the airline could not reissue us tickets directly. Moreover, one Kayak & Webjet got actively involved, they even tried to deny us passage on the alternate flights that American Airlines suggested. By the time we did make it up to the desk, everything was taken/full for the next few days & we have been struggling to make our overseas travel even possible ever since."
Pros: "It was nice that I had a seat empty next to me, allowing for extra room. Flight was a little early in landing in Dallas, allowing for extra time for a short layover to find my terminal and gate for my next flight."
Cons: "All was good."
Pros: "Quick board and exit, fast check-in"
Cons: "Wi-Fi onboard free for all T Mobile customers, cramped seat room for a smaller adult even"
Pros: "Assigned seating, snacks, touch screen media feature."
Cons: "Staff could have been more friendly."
Pros: "The food, in flight entertainment and attention to detail by the Flight Attendants was very good."
Cons: "The personnel handling the front desk at check in gave myself and others bad information about how to check a bag. Which resulted in me being called to the desk at the gate about 30 minutes prior to boarding and being told I screwed up checking my bag when I was just following the instructions given to me. Was then told I had to leave the secure area of the airport, go back to the front to check my bag all within 30 minutes of boarding. when I returned thru the TSA checkpoint they were rude, obviously, but more importantly the flight was boarding early. So you could've 1. told me what the actual procedure is for checking my bag instead of telling me "just leave it by the green lit up check mark then 2. told me at the gate that not only do i need to go fix your mistakes for you but that youd also board my flight early thereby putting me in jeopardy of missing my flight. all i got was a very insincere apology when I complained up front and at the gate about the airline's screw up. i get that you're all human like me and make mistakes but the customer is always right. there was a time in this country when customer appreciation and service were important standards and qualities businesses thrived on. Don't know what happened to those days... Also i should not need to be a first class passenger to get a meal during a flight. whatever happened to meals for everyone? you (all airlines in the US) charge way too much money and provide poor service compared to pre-9-11 days. I dont see how one event can justify the loss in service but the increase in ticket price. you should all get back to what flying should be about: fun and time saving."
Cons: "Think it is ridiculous that I had to pay so much to select a seat ahead of time, and it was just a regular seat. I can understand for extra legroom or exit row, but for a regular seat, that is ridiculous. Then there was a fee to change priority boarding, so I could ensure I was able to have my carry-on with me, instead of risk having it go underneath. Unable to use the entertainment, as I was unaware had to use my own device, which I had not set up in advance."
Pros: "The staff tried to help as much as possible."
Cons: "I called American Airlines as ssoon as I book my trip to set up and make sure my small dog could fly with me. They neglected to inform me their partner, jetstar, does not fly animals. My luggage did not arrive with me. Both of my suitcases were mangled and broken. Items in my suitcases were shattered and crushed even though they were well packed and protected. We got stuck on the terminal in MSP and missed our connecting flight. When we finally arrived the systems were down and could not get new flights or hotels. We were told we could not get hotels and had to argue for an hour. Even though it was a maintenance issue. I arrived a day late and had to take extra leave. The plane from LAX to Tokyo was horrific. I booked a window seat, was stuck in the very middle. There was no way to charge outlets devices. The screen did not work. And my new luggage was also damaged with even more items destroyed."
Pros: "The plane boarded quickly and on time, the flight went smoothly."
Cons: "The plane seating layout was crammed. I had to sit uncomfortably the entire flight to avoid cuddling with the passenger next to me. Total sardine can."
Cons: "They didn't give my parents who are in their 80s seats together, that's not right."
Pros: "The flights left on time and arrived early. It reminded me of the old days when everything ran like clock-work."
Cons: "The leg room was barely enough for me and I'm 5'4". I can't imagine people much larger than me being comfortable at all. Also, the chair made my back hurt, so I did a lot of sitting up straight as opposed to being "in the chair". I noticed that you had snacks for purchase on the flight, but the free snacks were cookies and pretzels. It would be nice to offer a trail mix or dried fruit. Pretzels are good for people who might be a little sick at their stomach, but better snacks are a nice option. I ordered coffee and it was perfect. Overall, the flight was a good flight, just a little tweaking and it would be great. Thanks for asking."
Pros: "Pretzels and drinks."
Cons: "The group's for boarding are ridiculous. The back of the plane should board first and so on... the new plane we flew on had the smallest seats we've ever seen. When we tried to board, the crew would rudely say, it's not your turn. We were flying for a funeral and paid a lot for our tickets. We should be treated with respect. One lady said to put our luggage in the first available compartment, then when we tried, another lady rudely said, if that's not where you're sitting, you can't put your bag there. We were embarrassed and when we tried to explain what we'd been told she told us to keep moving."
Pros: "The crew was really good, made sure our needs were met."
Cons: "The seats were quite crammed."
Pros: "The crew were very nice and the seats were comfy."
Cons: "I would have liked a snack instead of just a beverage alone."
Pros: "Wireless entertainment and seat spacing on the airbus"
Cons: "Boeing seats are too close together. Space them out"
Pros: "Crew was nice, boarding went smoothly."
Cons: "As always, seats are very tight and not super comfortable... but that’s true for all airlines these days, unfortunately."
Pros: "Organized gate"
Cons: "Information on delay boarding"
Cons: "Internet WiFi"
Cons: "We were delayed for an hour sitting in the tarmac because of “VIP” which sucked"
Cons: "Watched a handicap elderly lady put in the middle of economy and a young small healthy male bumped to first class. crew not prioritizing the elderly. With 16" of isle space an eastern crew member tried to push a airline wheelchair down the crowded isle. Treating paying passengers as llivestock"
Cons: "Food was not necessarily to our liking."
Pros: "Seem to be a smooth and direct flight"
Cons: "The flight was fine however my seat was next to the bathroom and people would occasionaly Bump in to me ."
Pros: "The flight was unremarkable"
Cons: "The loading was 1hr late because United had to move the plane to the proper gate. No leg space, but that's my 6'-4" body's fault."
Cons: "The legroom is non-existent. I sure wish airlines didn't try to put so many seats in each aircraft."
Pros: "The flight was overall good, there it was simple and i got what I paid for. First class would have been worth the upgrade Im 6'6" and i was good for legroom."
Cons: "They lost my bag. Very huge issue followed. Staff was very helpful in getting me on track with who and when to talk with people however!"
Pros: "Flight was quick and the flight attendants were nice"
Cons: "I'm 6' tall and my head was above the headrest, so it wasn't super comfortable to lay back."
Cons: "Wi-Fi did t work for most of the flight."
Pros: "Service and respect very good"
Pros: "Not much. The plane left ontimefrom SF,got toMplsontime."
Cons: "Bought a basic economy ticket: 3 emails warning about luggage restrictions - demeaning! Can't download boarding passes from own computer- must be done at airport under supervision of United staff: "have to check and see what bags you're bringing"!. Last to board! Seat assignments done at the gate; instructed to see gate attendant, who says, "Take a seat, we'll call you". Finally, in SF, gate person says,"You bought a restricted ticket, we have to watch you"! I didn't buy lousy customer service!"
Pros: "On time, friendly, overall great!"
Pros: "The trip went smoothly and it was on time. The Crew was nice and efficient"
Pros: "The price of a ticket is slightly lower. It is not enough of a difference to make the plethora of inconveniences worth it. You are not a valued customer with this fare. If United values customers, they shouldn't offer this fare. That's why I don't fly the bargain airlines."
Cons: "You can't check in at the kiosk on basic economy without an employee badge swipe, and there were no employees available. I had to stop checking in, wait in line, and then the employee that I talked to didn't have the right kind of badge to swipe. So I waited again. Extremely inconvenient. Even after being forced to talk to a ticket agent at check in, they still won't issue a seat. So you have to go to the gate and wait in line again to get a seat. The system is built for maximum inefficiency. It doesn't cost less for them to make me talk to two separate people, it is only to inconvenience the flyer for buying a cheaper ticket. It seems like a punitive system. Boarding was organized and painless. The crew seemed polite. Regarding comfort, the "leg room" on the airbus is ridiculous. I am average height and felt claustrophobic. I can't imagine how a tall person feels. There was no " entertainment" on my flight, so one star for that. I didn't not receive any food and was not offered water, 1 star."
Pros: "Very friendly staff. Very smooth bag check. It was crowded but the line moved quickly. Boarding was very organized and easy to maneuver. The flight was very enjoyable and we actually landed 20 minutes early. United has once again provided an excellent flying experience!"
Cons: "There was no part of the entire united experience I did not like."
Pros: "Easy boarding, on time take off"
Cons: "Arrived early (yay), but had to sit on the runway for 45 minutes waiting for a gate and ended up getting to the gate later than the original expected time. Pretty ridiculous."
Pros: "Healthy options maybe apples or something, and cheaper for snack packs. Ability to accept cash."
Cons: "It was not made clear at all that I was buying a basic economy ticket and was not going to be allowed to take a carry on. That was really frustrating."
Pros: "Friendly flight attendants."
Cons: "When I made the reservation, somehow I was assigned lowest status, and boarded the plane last, meaning no overhead storage."
Pros: "$155 roundtrip cost with limitations described before purchasing tickets. It would be much better to at least be able to take a backpack as a carry-on, but all costs were included in the price except luggage and that was reasonable at $25/bag."
Cons: "Not being able to take a backpack as a carry-on"
Pros: "service is good."
Cons: "Very small plane with very small seats"
Cons: "The crew & boarding. Awful snacks."
Cons: "2hr late leaving ord. 2hr late leaving msp. Airline change because of depart time in msp from united to American meaning we had to go from term1 to term 3 at ord in 20 min 21/2 hrs getting home. All delays due to mechanical problems. United needs to get their act together Our last trip with them,if at all possible."
Cons: "I'm disappointed that I had to pay to watch the flight tracker, that it wasn't a free option and I had to be continually subjected to commercials that were irrelevant to me."
Cons: "Unable to pre-check online. Unable to check at the check in machines--had to go up and check in at the counter, long wait because there was only one clerk. We were then given a ticket just to get through security and had to check in a second time when we get to the gate for seat assignment, which is ridiculous. Why couldn't that be done at the 1st check-in? The clerk told me she will call me when she has the seat assignment/ boarding ticket but she never did and I had to go back up to ask for them when it was getting close to boarding time. At the last moment minutes, volunteers could check in their carry on for free....It would have been nice (and less hassle) to have that option at the 1st check-in."
Pros: "The lady helping me before boarding plan was awesome thanks enjoy your week"
Pros: "Flight finally left for ORD. Staff kept folks apprised and boarded us quickly."
Cons: "Continual delays. UAL staff did not address issue of whether folks would miss connections in ORD. Yet we were seated next to the AA counter where their staff was actively working on this issue (missed connections in ORD). Seemed like AA cared a bit more."
Pros: "I appreciate that United hasn't gotten greedy with baggage charges and has kept their seating comfortable. Last Frontier flight was RIDICULOUS!!"
Pros: "I like being in an earlier boarding group and sitting by a window."
Cons: "Seats are too close together and reclining makes it very uncomfortable for the person behind the recline."
Pros: "a lot of the times the planes are freezing, would like to see pillows and blankets offered more in economy"
Pros: "I really like almost everything about flying with Lufthansa."
Cons: "Checking in and obtaining my boarding pass was a less than satisfying experience. Initially I could not check in until arrived at the airport because the first leg of my trip was Lufthansa through United? I tried to check in on BOTH United and lufthansa's website neither worked. I then spent about 45 minutes on the phone with a Lufthansa representitave just to find out I would be unable to check in until I arrived at the airport the next day. Once I checked in to the airport I could only get my seat for the first flight and was told I would have to get my subsequent seats while on layover. When I arrived at my layover, while trying to get my seat for the next flight I was told they were overbooked and I would have to wait 'over there' until they could figure out a place for me to sit. But when the attendant printed my ticket she was shocked to find out I had a seat, and angrily reported that 'I don't know how YOU got a seat, but you did. So go get in line for the flight!' That said, I did get in line, I did get fairly decent seats the whole trip, and all but one employee were overly helpful and nice. However it would have been far less stressful if I was just able to check in for the initial flight."
Pros: "Speed and ease of our return home."
Cons: "We got in SO early, there was no gate ready for us at Newark, so we had to stay on board at least 30 min. Also they didnt allow even 1 person waiting in queue for bathroom, so if you sat down you'd lose your place."
Pros: "The other legs of the trip were on time"
Cons: "The second leg of the trip was two hours late which always happens at Chicago Ohare"
Cons: "Every flight I had was delayed at least an hour, and one of my flights was delayed 2.5 hours, which caused me to miss an important meeting. When I asked why it was taking so long, the United customer service representative was very short and somewhat rude. Not a great experience this time that's for sure."
Cons: "seats were extremely uncomfortable"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "Airplane was damaged and united wouldn't rebook us until the flight was officially cancelled hours later. Then United provided only one service person to address all of the passengers needs so we had to stand in line for a couple hours longer. Then they had no hotel rooms to put anybody up for the night that couldn't get a flight until the next day. Then they gave us a measly $10 food voucher. Then our luggage was mishandled has still has not shown up to my house. Then because of the change in flights I had to rearrange transportation home at 1130 pm that cost me an extra $125. A very miserable day because of United's lack of being proactive and poor decision making given the situation and circumstances."
Cons: "The flight was delayed multiple times causing me to have to literally run across airport to catch international connecting flight. Gate crew did very little to assist me in securing an alternate flight. On board crew did little to assist me in finding out information and getting me off the plane quickly to get to my connecting flight. Overall they showed little empathy and customer service."
Pros: "The flight attendant was great! Pleasant, polite and professional!"
Cons: "The flight from ORD to ABE was on a plane with expired maintenance logs or inspections? We were delayed 2 hours in arriving for what seemed like a pilots lax in paperwork. But what does a customer expect from an airline who knows they that customer by the balls?"
Pros: "When I got on the plane"
Cons: "Late by more then an hour and I missed my connection home. I had to stay the night in Denver and miss a day of work. This cost me an extra day and about $1000 worth of missed revenue."
Pros: "Overall good flight. Very quick! :) nice pilot"
Cons: "Nothing in particular."
Cons: "One strange thing happened on my United airlines flight. The crew announced before we boarded that there wasn't enough overhead space for rolling bags and encouraged us to check them in. Upon boarding they announced that all overhead space in the back was full. I sat in the back and noticed that the crew closed the overhead compartments even though they were mostly empty. Another passenger opened an empty one and the crew came over and closed it right away, though many people were still boarding. What's going on?"
Cons: "Very slow boarding. The entire last boarding group had to gate check our bags, despite there being lots of room in the overhead bins when we got on. Then we had to go to baggage claim to retrieve them, rather than having them unloaded quickly and returned to us when we de-boarded. My carry-on is no longer clean; it not has big black spots on it, and came though the baggage claim partially wet from the rain. I was not happy."
"It was great"
"Boarding was smooth. I took a backpack as a personal item, no big drama there. The crew was pleasant and respectful. The flight was smooth, reached out destination 1 hr early. Will fly frontier again."
"On time …uneventful Works for me"
"Extra row seats are comfortable and spacious. Flight was delayed"
"Add some onboard entertainment or wifi. Give at least water and a simple snack for free."
Cons: "Luggage took over 45min"
Cons: "Get rid of middle seat seating please. don’t mind paying for the fares slightly more. thank you!"
Cons: "Separate the individuals on the flight. Many seats available in the back and yet they crammed everyone in the front side by side with the covid-19 conditions just not smart planning at all"
Cons: "The only negative was the weather!"
Pros: "They gave us the emergency row with more space which we liked!"
Cons: "Boarding process could have been better. I felt I was poorly informed of the technical issues and would have liked a better understanding of what was going on. Boarding and then having to deplane right before departure due to a tire inspection fail was unnecessary. I feel as though the inspection should have happened prior to boarding."
Cons: "Crew didn’t wear masks correctly to prevent COVID, seats didn’t recline on red eye, seats were hard"
Cons: "Your workers stole from me I spend money with the airline just too have you guys take from my hard working things"
Pros: "Amazing it took an international pandemic to finally convince airlines to board from the back front."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues. No help was offered other than rebooking on a flight that didn’t get me to my destination until the next day and included an overnight stay at a hub airport with no hotel voucher. When told that was unacceptable I was handed a piece of paper listing two “Options” from Frontier. Both options involved going to a website and filling out forms. One for cancellation and $500 in travel vouchers which, after filling out the form and submitting returned with a message that the website was closed. Option 2 was to try to rebook which led to a dead end. I finally called Frontier directly and spent over 45 minutes getting everything straightened out. Now I have vouchers that have to be used by January 1, 2019."
Cons: "The flight was delayed due to weather, which is fine, the delay was 45 minutes, not a big deal....Here's the but...when it came to boarding time, they announced that it was not going to be boarding by zones and that everyone should just get on the plane. On top of what appeared to be a mass exodus, or perhaps something you'd see in a third world country, those people who paid more $$ to have carry on bags, in zone 1 and be able to board first were most certainly not feeling the value. The gate experience was not well organized or orchestrated. After getting off the plane, our daughter realized once in baggage claim that she left her backpack on the plane. Not being experienced in this area, we asked for help. A police officer told my wife to go to Frontier office, where there was no one in the office, someone else said have them paged. There was no white courtesy phone in the area that was operating, so she went to Southwest and asked if they could page someone to come to the Frontier office and they said no, walked to next terminal to find a working courtesy phone, paged someone to Frontier and within 5 minutes ,10 people showed up. Asked if someone could help. They radioed to the gate that a passenger left their bag. What the rep should have said was that they called the gate, hopefully someone locates and if they do, they will bring it here and we will check on it in a few minutes. The person didn't say a word, 5 minutes later my wife asked what happens now. After a nice sigh and eye roll, the Frontier rep says if they found, they bring it. My wife asked would it be possible to see if they found it instead of just waiting around here for bodies to appear. The bag was eventually found and returned but the experience was just now a good one to say the least."
Pros: "The crew was friendly."
Cons: "The flight was delayed, which on its face is understandable, except that it seems to be a pattern with Frontier. Whether I'm flying them myself, or picking up someone who's flying them, the last several Frontier flights I've experienced have been delayed, often repeatedly. And then there's the luggage fees . . . I booked this most recent ticket well in advance, and wasn't sure what my luggage needs would be. When I went online to add bags, I learned that adding them post booking, but pre-airport still incurred a significant cost increase - from $25 (at booking) to $38 (a week before check in). To carry one bag and check another, I had to pay nearly $80, which was more than the cost of my actual plane ticket! I'm sorry, Frontier, but I think our relationship is coming to an end . . ."
Pros: "The crew was great. I had two amazing landings."
Cons: "There are too many additional fees. It's bad enough that I had to pay for a carry on bag....but to actually have to pay for a seat!!??? I thought my fare paid for a seat? I know I would still get a seat if I didn't pay, but I would have no idea where that seat would be until boarding. I'd rather the price of the ticket be raised by $60 and I get a free carry on and choose my seat. I paid $70 For bags and $56 for seating. And what's worse, the seats were TERRIBLE. They used to be a go to, now I will run from Frontier if I can help it."
Cons: "Horrible delay , uncourteous attendants , not even drinking water is free More or less every airline of America is like this except Southwest ."
Cons: "Out flight was cancelled after you delayed it for 3 hours. At 2:00AM we finally figured out what was going on. We were stranded in the Philadelphia airport. There was very poor, if any communication. At that late hour, all hotels were booked. We were forced to stay in the airport, with no place to rest. Some passengers got pillows and blankets provided by Frontier which we repeatedly asked for, but were never provided. It was undoubtedly one of the worst experiences of our lives! We are still waiting for our full refund! 3 of us had booked round trip to Orlando, paid for special seating, paid for carry-on bags We expect a rapid response before this goes on social media"
Cons: "Frontier is now a leader in PRICE FRAUD & Extortion! They believe in Dishonest pricing & Deliberately deceiving their customers. They slapped me with an $80 fee to board my flight! Extortion!! So my $170 airfare suddenly increased in price by 47% !! This is a total scam. Worse than a bait & switch scam (which is illegal). Even the smallest tote bag with a toothbrush & overnight clothes will incur extra big fees for carry-on "luggage"... Where is the FCC & the consumer protection bureau on this?...Fees for basic carry-on items needs to be made ILLEGAL!! I'll never fly again with such a dishonest airline. Sign me up for SouthWest every time...I don't care what the price difference is, I refuse to give my money to mobsters. You blew it Frontier! Never Again."
Cons: "After being delayed on the first leg of my trip, we arrived in Denver being told to go to a particular gate. Once there we were told it was moved to another gate. This happened a total of 4 times! Again the flight was delayed. The pilot/co pilot made a negative comment on the PA about the airline after apologizing for the confusion. I was not given the opportunity to choose my seat. When I checked in, I asked to change from the middle seat I was assigned to, to a aisle seat to accommodate my long legs and severe knee arthritis. The attendant at the desk looked at my boarding pass and exclaimed "well, your flying ECONOMY so I guess you'll just have to deal with it". Drinks that are complimentary on Alaska (soft drinks, juice , water etc.) were charged for. The attendants completely skipped my row and we were not offered anything. The attendant did provide me a diet cola at no cost when I brought it to her attention. All in all a miserable trip home, in such contrast to our flight there on Alaska Airlines at the same cost."
Pros: "The crew were polite and we arrived an hour ahead of schedule."
Cons: "It was the most uncomfortable trip I've had on an airplane. I paid $40 for my carry on and was asked to pay extra to choose my seat. I was traveling alone so I opted not to chose a seat but had I had my children and husband with me, I would have been quite annoyed to pay for such uncomfortable accommodations. The fact that the seats don't recline is absurd. The fares look affordable when you are booking but Frontier nickel and dimes you every step of the way once you get your ticket. I'll be taking my business elsewhere when I purchase my next ticket."
Cons: "There was a lag time from when we boarded and when we departed and there was no reason given for the delay. Unfortunately we also experienced a lot of turbulence during the flight (no one's fault) but our almost two year old ended up getting sick and neither seat back pocket had any bags. Luckily the lady next to my husband had brought her own and gave them to us. We were in the back of the plane and asked for a trash bag and or napkins and they ignored us at first. My husband and I tried to stay positive and laughed pretty much the whole time because these things happen. The crew didn't help us until decent (about 20 minutes later) and seemed upset that some got on the floor as they were complaining that they would need to use a special cleaning agent. Our son was such a trooper and wasn't fussy or crying. His stomach just couldn't handle the turbulence. The only positive about our flight we're the wonderful passengers sitting around us!"
Pros: "Nothing at all."
Cons: "The outbound flight was delayed only three hours. The return flight was delayed three hours, after which we boarded and waited. After another hour we taxied to the runway and returned. I am grateful we did not take off with a defunct left-engine. We taxied back to the airport and de-planed--but only after being instructed not to talk to the other passengers. (Really.) The flight was not cancelled, even when the plane was towed to the hangar. Finally, after six hours, Frontier offered a refund--as they had no interest in placing us on another airline that was going to the same destination. I rented a car and drove from Charlotte to Philadelphia to retrieve my own car from the airport so I could arrive home 15 hours after my scheduled arrival. Frontier couldn't care less. NEVER again."
Pros: "Once on the plane, the flight was fine. No problems."
Cons: "Not the airlines fault, but a bird strike made them switch out our plane for another. Good idea, but the announcements kept saying we were 15-20 minutes away from boarding, but the same 15-20 minutes about three times in a row. We left about an hour late. I would prefer it if you were just straight with us the first time. "Ladies and Gentleman, it will be about an hour. Our new boarding time is XX. Be back here by then and we won't leave without you." Also, the desk crew should have asked the passengers to have a seat instead of standing and blocking the area. People were trying to get by and it was difficult. Also, on a completely different topic, healthier snack choices would be appreciated."
Cons: "The crew was very clumsy and on multiple occasions either elbowed me in the head as the walked passed, hit my knee with the concessions cart, etc. all with Minimal apology. I enjoy flying frontier because of the cheapness, but I this flight made me see what I was paying for. Might just have to bite the bullet and pay the extra few dollars for better service in flight. There was also a maintenance issue that delayed the flight about 15 to 20 minutes and we got little explanation as to what was happening. Lastly, i think it is absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay upwards of $45 to carry on a bag. I had to have an extra $80 added onto my trip due to this, so inconvenient and just makes me want to switch airlines completely and skip all of this hastle. Cheap doesn't always pay off."
Pros: "Very cheap flight. Ticket of price of $197 Denver to Philly round trip. However, once you factored in the luggage charges, the flight came to around $314. We were delayed two hours leaving Denver, and then when we got to Philly it took an hour and a half for them to get our bags to the carousel... unfortunately that wasn't the end of it. They somehow managed to put our flights luggage in the wrong baggage claim areas, so collecting our bags was a nightmare. The worst part was after I saw how much they charged me for a checked bag and a carry on, it came out to be as much as the American Airline flight that I hadn't booked in order to save money."

Pros: "I liked the fact that I was FINALLY able to fly from MSP to Denver. My flight was cancelled due to the weather. The woman at check-in was very, very good as far as being able to handle a lot of cranky passengers. She kept a positive attitude and was able to book me on a flight 2 days later. Kudos to her."
Cons: "No compensation was offered. NONE. This lay over was expensive (two nights in a motel plus food). You didn't even offer me a drink of water while I stood in long lines getting to the check-in counter and then waiting to make arrangement at a motel. I know the weather is out of your control, but couldn't you at least try to make your patrons comfortable after they have been on the road in sub-zero weather, in the snow trying to make their flight??? Enuf said. I will likely not fly with you again."
Cons: "Received email at 3:30pm that 8:15pm flight from New Orleans to Philadelphia was cancelled. Was on the way to the airport already, so didn't see the email until the lady at the desk told me it was cancelled. When I asked why, she said it was "due to weather" because it was snowy up in Philadelphia. Since they were claiming the cancellation was due to weather, they would not help arrange or pay for an alternate flight on another airline, nor cover a hotel during the time stuck there. They told us that the next flight we could take was Friday (it was Monday), which was also the day before Christmas eve. It was not snowy in Philadelphia. The plane we were supposed to be taking was arriving from Philadelphia on time. After 2hrs of being on hold and arguing with Frontier customer services, they finally admitted to my travel partner that the reason for the cancellation was actually because it would put the flight crew that they had over the legal limit of fly time without breaking/sleeping. So they lied to me completely about the reason to begin with, offered no help whatsoever to resolve the problem in a reasonable manner, and eventually admitted the real cause of the cancellation but still refused to pay for another flight. Luckily, one of my other travel companions was headed to Philadelphia via American Airlines at the same time, and had miles they were willing to let us use. Otherwise, it would have cost $2000 for the two of us to get home - or whatever it would cost to stay in a hotel for 4 nights while missing work. Never choosing them again."
Cons: "We were 5 minutes after the 45 minute cut off for checking in luggage (due to a bunch of mishaps that were obviously not planned for). The Frontier staff was rude, unsympathetic, and very accommodating. They would not work with us at all and made us rebook. They didn't have another flight for another 24 hours. We had to pay $99 a person to go on this flight. The airport was empty. They could have easily rushed our bags on to the flight. (This once happened to me on Southwest and with 28 minutes to spare they got us and our bags on the flight!) They were determined to make us feel miserable and treated us like we were children in trouble. They do not care about customer service and seem to enjoy when their customers are miserable."
Cons: "Seats don't recline- $45 charge for a carryon bag? Staff seems burned out- just going thru motions. Like it's their last job or no other airline would hire them- their doing us ( the customer ) a favor because they went to work that day- the captain seemed fine. Only came on when had to. There were no air sickness bags- the turbulence was very bad. The woman next to me barely made it to the bathroom in time- because on the the lavatories was not in use for a maintenance issue. Overall very poor experience"
Pros: "The animal on the plane was cute. Otherwise, nothing."
Cons: "The plane was late to board which they blamed on cleaning. When we finally got to our seats (both flights) they were filthy. My first seat actually had a chunk of hair and a napkin on it. My second crumbs all over the seat and floor. The seats were horribly uncomfortable and did not recline. They claim they have low fares but there were hidden costs (charges for picking seats AND carry-on bags) that we didn't learn about until we arrived at the airport and had to use money we saved to spend on vacation for the flight instead. I would have rather paid weeks ahead so I didn't have to use our fun money."
Pros: "The flight was pleasant the crew was friendly. the flight departed and landed on time."
Cons: "When I needed assistance it took the attendant at least 15 minutes to recognize my call. Another passenger had to assist. The attendant wasnt serving at the time just chatting with other passengers. i was surprised by the added fees and the seating was tight. the staff at the New Orleans terminal was borderline rude when checking bags. My friends bag was about an inch longer than the required size because of the handle and was forced to pay as a carry on. The staff in Philadelphia was more pleasant and helpful when explaining the added cost."
Cons: "I felt duped. I chose Frontier because of the competitive rate for the flight fee. I had NO idea I was going to be asked to pay $60 for my carry-on bag at the gate! and THEN be required to pay again for a simple drink and snack on the airplane. I understand charging for upgraded options of more expensive drinks and larger snack items and additional baggage, but whatever happened to including the basic courtesies in the cost of the flight!? Again, I felt duped! I will not be choosing Frontier again in the future unless these things change. And, oh my gosh, sitting within 3 rows of the lavatory was extremely uncomfortable to the nose the entire flight! Surely there are better ways of de-odorizing!"
Pros: "Frontier has the best crew members"
Cons: "The flight was changed from arriving on Sunday evening to a red-eye that arrived at 6 am monday morning. My husband and I would not have booked this flight if this had been the original timing. Also, the "first class" is a joke. We paid extra because of previously mentioned schedule changes hoping to get some sleep. (We both had to be at work Monday) The seats were not bigger, any more comfortable, and do not seem to have any additional leg room. The flight itself went smoothly. However, I will try to avoid taking Frontier airlines because of the delays, outrageous schedule rearrangements, and lack of comfortability."
Pros: "Seats were ok. Drinks on plane weren't too overpriced."
Cons: "You get what you pay for as they say. Crew was unprofessional, rude, didn't even tell me which way my gate was I had to turn back around and ask. All they were doing was BSing with each other and laughing. Pilot took forever to even take off, we literally drove around on the ground going like 10 mph for about 15-20 minutes, and because we didn't take off when we were supposed to I assume is why our flight got delayed an hour! Never have had a delayed flight until frontier. Then to make matters worse, I checked my bag and they put it on the wrong belt I literally waited for my one suitcase for about 45 minutes! Like wtf get your situation together. Not to mention the $30 1st bag fee at least sun country gives you that."
Pros: "Nice newer airplane Hidden fees not so friendly"
Cons: "They charge me $50 for a seat at check-in They charged me $40 to carry-on one bag at check in They charge for all refreshments and snacks. The only thing that was complementary was a small glass of water. One of the flight attendants asked me if I would be willing to give up my aisle seat that I paid an extra $50 for to take a center seat so a teenage boy could sit by his mother. 99 times out of 100 I would have given the boy my seat. However this was a longer flight and I just had to pay $50 to obtain my aisle seat. When I tried to nicely explain that I just paid extra money to get this I'll seat the flight attendants response was " well he had to pay $50 for that center seat also, so it's basically the same seat". I replied no actually that is a center seat and I'm sitting in an aisle seat so they are different. After I declined to change my seat the flight attendant gave me major attitude about it and went off and informed the other flight attendants that I would not change seats. All of the flight attendants gave me the stink eye the rest of the trip, treated me rudely, & and ignored me as much as possible. I've been flying for my profession for 13 years and this was the most unprofessional crew I've ever seen. This is my one and only complaint about a flight in 13 years of many many flights. I will try very hard not to fly with Frontier ever again."
Cons: "There is no warning from Frontier that customers will be charged for both checked and carry-on bags. Along with being charged extra depending on what seat the customer chooses (up to $30 additional charge). It's a good thing I went online 24 hours before my flight or I would have been very upset to get to the gate and have had to pay $60 for my bag. There seems to be an up charge for everything after the ticket is paid for, including food and drink. The seats in the airplane felt like glorified plastic lawn chairs."
Pros: "not much"
Cons: "poor customer service overall. On return trip, required to pay a "carry on bag fee" of $45 which is nearly double what most airlines charge to check a bag. was a total surprise charge, as we were not charged on the trip out. Return trip - sat on runway for 40 minutes before take off. Made up some time in the air. Upon arrival, sat again for > 30 min before a gate opened. dreadful. Didn't offer beverages without a charge - had to ask if you wanted water (not offered). Purchase snack menu items - very poor selection."
Pros: "Crew was considerate and offered updates as we waited. We were given a lunch voucher and $100 voucher for a future trip -- on frontier and within 3 months. Fortunately for me, I did not have a connection and the person I was meeting in Orlando was also delayed 4 hours from a different location . So I was only moderately inconvenienced. Ordinarily this would have been a very costly event. This is my 2nd trip on the same flight within one month. Non-stop and times are great. First trip was on schedule and solid. Very friendly staff. Planes seemed new, cean, and safe, but not very comfortable (seats did not recline!?)"
Cons: "Delayed for 4 hours. We all boarded the plane before being told there was a problem, so then everyone had to de-plane and wait near gate for more information. Arrived Orlando too late to drive to destination. Wasted a day of car rental. Must use $100 voucher within 90 days."
Cons: "The woman at the check in counter was rude, and by the end she had me in tears my bag was fine on the fight in but she insisted on charging me 60 dollars on the way home I had no money or credit cards on me so I had to beg a stranger for money, and when I gave her the 60 dollars she said with a grin on her face we don't accept cash at that point I broke down not knowing what to do she announced one minute to board and finally they let me on I was a mess by then! Never again will I fly Frontier!!!!!!!!!!! Robin M. Cahill 215-669-1108"
Cons: "Despite that the plane had clearly not arrived, the desk people indicated we would still be on time, and we were told that we would make up the time in the air. After waiting for 1.5 hours on the tarmac, we were 1.5 hours late to our destination. The seat were very small and not very comfortable and did not recline. We were told when checking-in online that we would have to pay $16 - $50 to guarantee that we would sit next to each other (only 2 people). Also there was a steep charge for checking and even carry-on luggage! The airline also lost one of our bags on the return trip. Pretty terrible experience overall."
Pros: "It was on time."
Cons: "The seats are too small, and not padded much, so it is like sitting on a folding chair. THE SEATS DONT RECLINE. There was a 4" tray table because there isn't room for the normal 8"? (Guess) tray table to go. You can't put a laptop or anything on the tray table. I am a petite girl and i could not bend over in my seat to try snd get your personsl item... My head would hit the seat in front of me...very uncomfotable flight. Everything was an extra: we paid $35 to check each bag and $40 to carry one on. Pay for drinks on flight. No movie. I will never choose to fly Frontier ever again, unless it's my only option."
Pros: "The desk staff and pilot were awesome. Very sympathetic, attentive, and personable throughout the entire long day. They all deserve TOP recognition!!!"
Cons: "Due to a winter storm, our flight was on hold for 8 hours. We were told all day to "stay with the plane", but in the end our flight was being used to fly the next day 5:30 passengers and we would not have a flight. So we waited all day, patiently, courteously and were left hanging. I was stranded 2 hours from home and wouldn't have a flight out for 4 days. Since I would have had to return the 5th day, I had no choice but to take the shuttle back home. Even the pilot and desk staff assumed we would be flown out in the morning. Frontier seriously needs to work on customer service when it comes to interrupted flights. We, who had been disrupted all day should have been placed on that morning flight. The 5:30 booking should have been delayed due to the circumstances."
Pros: "I felt deceived by Frontier. I knew paying the low fair I was going to get a bare bones trip. I was fine with paying for my own drink. I cannot believe that the airline is charging $40 bags for a carry on!!!!!! Also I had to pay an additional $27 each so my husband and I could sit together. Shame on you frontier. Of given the choice I will NEVER fly with this airline again. Everyone I tell about my experience has their own negative story to tell about Frontier. I suggest you change your practice before you go out of business. My final cost was double the original price of my original ticket. Just price the ticket as it should be."
Cons: "My flight was delayed by more than 3 hours. The representative at check-in told me that the flight was coming from LaGuardia airport and was delayed due to bad weather (which I can still believe to be true despite any evidence of severe weather when I checked online). No one (from the check-in desk to the boarding gate) had any information about the delay and we were sitting clueless at the gate as the departure time kept changing frequently. No frontier crew was present at the gate to answer our queries or to provide reasonable respite in terms of water or meal vouchers at a very cold airport (heating wasnt working for some reason). This was aggravated by the fact that there are no complimentary drinks/meals on the flight. I would also like to point out a cheap trick that the airline tries to fool passengers with. They try to charge you for your seat when you check-in online. You have to skip seat selection to avail a seat at no extra cost. This on top of carry on baggage fees. It doesnt sound like a budget airline to me. A cheap one, for sure."
Pros: "Not one single thing."
Cons: "This airline is TOTAL GARBAGE. Flight to Orlando had two hour delay due to mechanical issue. They rushed to board us, we sat on plane, started to pull from gate then right back to gate to unboard. Sat in airport clueless, finally flew. Expected arrival 11:15pm, turned into 1:40am. Ended up costing me double $$ when I had to re rent a car because our counter closed at 1am (not a problem had we been on time) Flight home wasn't any better. Separated my companion flyer and myself, attendant got very snippy when I asked about it - told me I should have paid extra money to sit next to each other. Arrival into Phila airport, waited an HOUR and 10 minutes for our bag. Never again. I'll spend more money on better airlines to avoid that headache. Ended up wasting money on other things just to "save" a few dollars on my flights. Worst flight experience I've EVER had, that says a lot when you fly 2-3x a month."
Pros: "The seats had a surprising amount of legroom, and the staff was nice (though i'm not sure why there were as many as a normal flight from another airline, since they don't do anything beyond the safety demo)"
Cons: "You are not adequately made aware that you will be charged for carry on unlike other airlines. And in doing so, the price of the ticket goes from being impressively cheap to being more than a flight from another airline that has more included amenities, like actual refreshements and free carry-ons. You also get charged for just selecting a seat, not a special seat, but ANY SEAT AT ALL. So the price you initially see when searching for flights is quite misleading. In reality, you should ad at least 50 bucks to any frontier ticket to get a truer picture of what the price would be for a normal passenger with a single carry-on that wants a particular seat."
Pros: "Absolutely the worst airline I have ever been on! You buy the ticket under the assumption you got a great deal. What they do not not tell you is that when you purchase an economy ticket, which everyone buys except first class you have to pay for carry on. Your first checked in bag costs $40, any bag after that is $45. So my carry on bag cost $45! Between my husband and I we spent a total of $170 on luggage for two checked bags and two carry ons. So if you are bringing any luggage with you, go on a different airline, you will save money by the end of the day. Also, all drinks and food are for purchase."
Pros: "Crews was courteous , boarding process was easy , pilot kept us informed along the journey"
Pros: "Friendly crew, clean planes"
Cons: "The relentless up-selling is a put-off. I switched to Delta for subsequent travels"
Cons: "Baggage fees are so high that I would rule out flying Spirit in the future."
Cons: "Everything with spirit was excellent. The problem was the Philadelphia baggage belt The belt kept breaking so it took them over an hour to figure out to use a different belt!"
Pros: "The price."
Cons: "They lost my garment bag and 24 hours later no call. My trip is an embarrassment because of this."
Cons: "Customer service on the phone when attempting to pay for a bag. Seats cramped. No air. Smelled"
Cons: "Baggage costs. Hotel accommodations when we were stranded overnight."
Cons: "Flight was canceled they lied and moved flight to next day...... no comps nothing"
Cons: "Being charged for baggage"
Pros: "Fast boarding."
Cons: "The airline didn't allow me to print my boarding pass until 8:30 pm on the night before my scheduled 8:38 am departure. At that time the fliglht departure time was delayed. In the morning the flight was delayed again. Fortunately I had a three hour layover in Atlanta, so the delays only meant less of a layover. The seats were uncomfortable. It was a clear day without many clouds, but somehow the pilots on both of my flights weren't able to hold the planes steady during the takeoffs, climbing to altitude, and approaches for landings. The planes were wobbling a lot---like they were no longer on smooth automatic pilot."
Pros: "The crew was nice and I didn't get "taken out". They were good."
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable. Most uncomfortable flight I've ever been on (first time with spirit, coincidence?) and the jerk couple in the first class seats in front of me, cause me at 6 foot got put behind first class, kept their seats reclined the whole way back the whole time. It was awful. I had zero leg room. Cramped legs the whole time. Couldn't sleep on the red eye flight because of it. I hate you spirit. Never seen a flight have seats right behind the only damn reclining seats in the whole plane."
Pros: "The flight was delayed and I was kept in the loop via email. All staff were friendly."
Pros: "The crew was very nice and friendly."
Cons: "Spirit Airlines never emailed me my tickets for my flight to MSP or back. It ended up costing me over $100 to register at the airport (because I had to register a carry-on bag) and almost missed my flight because the kiosk would not print my ticket and I had to wait for another one to be available and re-do it. For that extra $100 I could have went with another airline that actually gives me literally the ONE thing I need to get on the plane..."
Pros: "The crew from Philadelphia to Minneapolis was fine."
Cons: "Trying to get home from Minneapolis was a nightmare. They delayed our flight, which happens, but the crew told us to stay by the gate in case it came in early. Almost 3 hours later we board the plane. Stay on the plan for 2 hours then were told our flight was canceled. Was handed a card to call and change the flight. Called, put on hold, told which flight i would be switched to, put on hold again then told it could not be done on the phone. Waited on line at the counter for 3 hours, booked my own flight online with another airline and then was told they would not refund the flight cost difference or hotel room b/c they did not book it for me, even though they booked the exact same flight for other guests. Horrible. Will never fly with them again."
Pros: "Nothing. If this airline lasts a year I will be surprised."
Cons: "Pricing is deceptive as any assigned seat costs extra. Boarding is a mess. I think they sell group 2 boarding as an extra but let group 2and 3 board together. Aisle, window and middle seats board together so people are constantly clogging aisles during boarding to let people into middle and window seats. As a result the policies that reduce carry-ons don't speed up boarding. They do clog up the departure lounge as people who haven't paid for a carry-on are pulled aside for a charge that makes their total flight cost the same as a carrier with the usual, albeit slim, amenities of most domestic airlines. This flight was hours late as was the other leg of this trip. Seats do not recline, at all. Some seat backs are just a layer of fabric, so if someone puts a knee or foot forward you get a real jab."
Pros: "not much...will not travel again on Spiritl"
Cons: "1) Seats not comfortable to sleep, no push back (was on red eye flight) 2) Delayed coming back from Vegas 3) I was trying to select a seat next to my friend and had to pay for getting seats together 4) Pay for every possible service (glad i don't have to pay for bathroom as of now) and not as cheap ticket to Vegas. 5) Felt like being treated like school kid (disciplined) when read about how baggage fares change with time to $100 @ gate. (too much). Too much to worry when I want a pleasure travel... 6) I will never travel on spirit for more than 2 hr flight time and that too when i have a great deal (that compensates for seats, luggage etc.,)"
Cons: "Continue the good work"
Cons: "flight attendant did not make the person in front of me put their seatback up for takeoff or landing, and I was the row before emergency row so it was hard to get in the seat or out! The 3-4 minute sales pitch for a credit card was over the top after being nickel and dimed for everything from boarding priority, seat selection, and bags. Spirit should not be listed with other airlines on flight services such as Kayak because of their hidden fees, and charging for carry on items. You should not have to sign up for their frequent flyer program in order to print a boarding pass."
Pros: "The staff was very polite knowledgeable and always smiled and some joked with made the flight a pleasure."
Cons: "I didn't know that the bag check was 40 pounds most are 50. I booked though a 2nd party and was not informed about having to pick a seat and the you had to pay for a carry on. They do not tell you about this be for you check out and also if you booking for 2 you may not be together on the flight unless you. pay before hand and then pick your seat. Also when looking for a phone umber on the web site and you hit contact us it sends you to the help and doesn't not show a phone number to talk to a person. The flight was good. I don't think that you should have to pay extra to make sure you are next to your family when traveling"
Pros: "Quick flight, every part was seamless. If you can travel in a backpack it's a great way to go."
Pros: "Just flew Spirit Air for the first time and loved it.... Great service and was early on both flights...."
Cons: "I choose the upgrade to the big seat and I think that's the way to go my friend flew regular and said it was a little tight"
Pros: "We had a completely uneventful flight in both directions. Everything travelers could want!"
Pros: "Our flight was delayed and then cancelled. There was one woman who was helpful in customer service when I arrived at the airport. I explained that I had to change my flight recently and am 6.5 months pregnant. Because my travel was booked within 7 days of the original flight, I was charged a $90 fee to make the change even though I made the change within 2 hours of booking. I was not reimbursed the difference of the flights. I was instead given a voucher to use within 60 days for the difference minus the $90 fee. I sent to online requests to customer service requesting contact because I am pregnant and will likely not be up for travel for several months. I got no response. The customer service rep who helped my friend and I book a replacement flight when our flight was cancelled was great and did his best with a sense of humor. It was obvious all of the staff did their best but were honest about the limits they had in being helpful: we waited in flux for an hour to find out if the cancellation was confirmed after being delayed for several hours. It was made clear that the replacement flight had to be within the range of the cost of the original ticket. Spirit ticket costs are completely misleading because of fees added for carry on bags, printing a ticket, water on the plane, etc. People tried their best but the set up including the website feel like an intentional scam."
Cons: "Delayed twice for almost 6 hours so far."
Pros: "Cheap price"
Cons: "My return flight was delayed by 4 hours"
Pros: "The best part is the Price!! The crew was good, flight was punchtual."
Cons: "If seats are made little more comfortable then this will be the best flight ."
Cons: "$100 extra for luggage"
Cons: "ridiculous pay $50,00 for hand bag"
Pros: "Clean, cheap, bare fare possible if you're a good packer."
Cons: "Flights were delayed both ways."
Pros: "I purchased a big seat and man was it worth it!"
Cons: "I don't think the attendants paid as much attention to their customers as other airlines do. Asking questions seemed to be an inconvenience."
Cons: "When I was trying to print my boarding pass the night before my flight, I was not through email or online given the option to purchase bags. When I showed up at the airport, they charged me $50 to check my bag. It was unfair that customer service did not at least give me a voucher for free check in for the next time I fly or a credit for my next flight with them. It's a bit discouraging to fly with spirit again knowing this could happen again."
Pros: "Crew was friendly and professional. Boarding was well organized. Inflight service was good."
Cons: "Smallest seat pattern I have experienced. I had a difficult time finding a comfortable position for my legs. The row spacing is very tight."
Cons: "Charges extra for luggage"
Cons: "Flight was significantly delayed with little warning or explanation. After boarding, more delays. Charging for a carry on bag was not noted when I bought the ticket on Kayak and is excessive in my opinion. It was supposed to be cheaper to check the bag so I said I would do that, then the lady at the counter charged me for carrying it on (more expensive). Airport gate workers were not very professional. I was not pleased and will probably not fly with Spirit Air again."
Pros: "I liked sleeping on the plane"
Cons: "That I almost missed my flight. They said it was delayed and it wasn't."
Cons: "Not on time"
Pros: "flight delayed almost 2 hours"
Cons: "Seat were uncomfortable and difficult to sleep in."
Pros: "Crew was excellent"
Cons: "Weather delay"
Pros: "We got there without crashing...."
Cons: "Terrible customer service. Everyone seems angry. Flight was over an hour late, but status still listed it as on time"
Cons: "The extreme restrictions on luggage are very hard to deal with, and during the flight there are constant announcements for drinks and snacks for sale. Considering the base rate for a flight is only a little less than other airlines, and if you decide to pay for a reasonably-sized suitcase it's actually more expensive than other airlines, it doesn't make a lot of sense to fly with Spirit. It also feels like they're doing you a favor for even letting you on the plane, rather than grateful for your business. The entire Spirit experience drives me up a wall."
Cons: "The $30 up charge and no cash policy was obnoxious and exceptionally inconvenient. It cost me $47 to check 1 bag. I had to put money on a pay card. The pay card itself cost $5 which caused me to have to out $60 on the card to cover the cost of 1 bag. On top of that, the machine took my money only to tell me that it was out of cards. It turned into a bit of a wild goose chase. The people at the spirit counter took care of it but ended up giving me a blank card after it was all said and done and lost out of my $8 in change."
Pros: "They don't play games. When is time to go, they go."
Cons: "The luggage prizes. They should be a little more accommodating"
Cons: "My flight kept getting delayed, and ultimately cancelled. For some reason Spirit did not feel the need to just let passengers know the status of the aircraft so that they could make other arrangements. I had to fly into a different city, rent a car, and drive home 2 hours (after sitting in an airport with no idea what was going on with my flight for approximately 6 hours). For my troubles? A $50 voucher for an airline I will NEVER fly again. No reimbursement. No nothing. And the kicker? It was entirely on Spirit. It was a maintenance issue. Absolutely horrible."
Pros: "Cheap seats."
Cons: "Not a comfortable seat to sit in for over an hour."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled, due to maintenance issue. spent all day in the airport, flight was scheduled to leave at 10am found out at. 3pm that is was cancelled, staff was very rude, gave us a card to call spirit to rebook. When called the agent couldn't help for an hr due to a system update and asked me to call back in a hr and to keep trying number. No one in the airport was willing or able to help to rebook. Conflicting information was given by the gate, check in desk and the agent on the phone. We received a $7 food voucher after waiting inline 2 hrs for it. And the only options they offered; was to fly to another airport with an 8 hr layover after being in the airport 12 hrs already and catch another flight at 7am. Or to wait two days to get a flight out of ATL. Worst part was the customer service and rude staff. I won't be flying with spirit in the future. Employees stood around instead of helping and had bad attitudes. And no clue as to flight info, or plane status to keep us updated."
Pros: "Overall it was a mediocre experience, but none of the airlines make flying an enjoyable experience anymore... Service on Spirit was below some airlines, but overall it was OK."
Cons: "SPirit's lack of honesty and disclosure about their fees and policies. The tag line of "Less Money, More Go" is totally false advertising. By the time I completed my return flight, this trip cost me about $100 more than other airlines because of their seat fees, bag fees, up-charges... they even charge for you taking your own carry on onto the plane! What's next? Charging for breathing while in-flight?? Overall I will not be using Spirit again, and I will not recommend Spirit to my friends or my company.\ Mike Gibbore"
Pros: "I was nervous about flying Spirit after reading some of the reviews but found the whole experience to be wonderful! I will definitely be booking more flights with Spirit. And with the prices available, it will be many more than I could afford on other airline...."
