"No seat assignment. Was put in the absolute last seat in the plane. Flight was delayed because of an electrical issue which also broke the AC until we were taxi-ing. It was hot."

Cons: "We booked basic seats knowing we might not sit together however we did not know they would separate children. They put my husband and I in an exit row and my daughter at the back of the plane with strangers. I was not comfortable with strangers being responsible for my child. I assumed they would seat children with at least one parent. We did ask to move at the gate and the accommodated us with the last row on the plane. No recline, no window, and right next to the bathrooms. We took it to be with our kid but this policy needs to be revised. Kids should always be seated with the adult responsible for them... who knows what kind of person might end up next to my child. Not to mention if she had needed something is the stranger gonna take care of it? It’s just a bad practice imo."

Oh! And our bag was misrouted, because that was just how things went those 2 days. All in all a 6 hour trip turned into 18 hours. I could have driven home in that amount of time!"

Cons: "Plane was around 45 minutes late in arriving at our Minneapolis gate. Flight was further delayed by something (unspecified) being "frozen." WORST part was that the temperature in the seating area at the gate was horribly cold. Departing passengers at a neighboring gate were bound for Fargo and sat with their parkas on and with parka hoods up. We Houston-bound had packed our coats & boots and were shivering. Then when we finally boarded the crew announced that the plane's water system was broken and so we would have no hot coffee or hot tea or hot anything. No water, also and obviously, in the restroom sink. But sani-wipes were provided in the sink basin."

Cons: "On the MSP to ATL leg the gate crew made a huge deal about checking rolling bags. They even stopped us at check-in and nearly begged us to check our bags pointing to the backed up jetway. But we had a lot of unpacking to do before checking our bags so we politely declined three times. On getting to our seats there were at least 8 open slots for bags near us. I heard a crew member call forward to say "tell them no more rollaboards" so they forced everyone left to check. On departure they slammed shut several very large empty overheads. WTF"

Cons: "I take this flight quite a lot. These comments are for this flight (MIA/MSP) - but not necessarily only for this exact flight that I took on 10/1. To be clear - the crew says "this is not AA", it is Republic Airlines". Well, they must think of themselves very poorly. Their food in first class is always changing - oh, I meant only the names for the same exact meal change. "Grilled Chicken with Couscous", "Grilled Chicken with Risotto", etc.. - all cold meals as they do not have an oven/microwave? on the plane. They are charging first class international prices for economy domestic service. For this amount of money, they should have better meals and a more modern airplane. The first class is always freezing (even in summer) while the rear cabin where the crew stays when not working, is hot. So if they make the first class happy with the correct temperature, they cook in the back. I have also observed more people than usual coughing and getting colds - both ways - than any of the other flights I take regularly (over 115,000 miles on AA this year). I would suggest that AA make it clear that Republic must offer better service to their customers - especially for the large airfares they are receiving."

Cons: "Food - Served the "breakfast" (when it was called a protein plate) I had coming (into MSP). for "lunch" on the way back (called it a meat plate for lunch. One slice turkey, one slice jamon, one egg, cinnamon roll and fruit. Just because they don't want to serve bread - they call it a protein plate? I'm not on a protein diet. Food was pretty sick for the amount I paid for the fight. Stewardess said it was against Republic's rules to give a customer a can of tonic water (so I could add to the small amount of vodka) - she also told me that it was against Delta's, American's and United's rules to give a can - strange? First Class seat did not recline. First Class was freezing per every flight on this segment (the stewardesses sit in the back and don't want to be uncomfortable - if they make the front warm - the back is too hot for them (not joking on this one). So many things to list - that I will finish on the AA site."

At boarding time passengers were informed if there was an issue with the plane and maintenance is on their way to check out the problem. 30 minutes later we were still till that maintenance is on their way. One hour later there is still no information as far as when the fight will leave but they kept updating the boarding time. There was only one person of the counter who could help re-assign passengers to different flights due to their layovers. After waiting in line for 40 minutes and the line making no movement I called the airline 1-800 hundred number and explain my situation to the American Airlines Airlines representative. they really give me a new flight that left 20 minutes later after my call if I did not call I would not mean it that flight nor any other fights that morning because they're all in the afternoon."

Pros: "Boarding staff helped me change to a seat that was suited better for my child and I- I was SO grateful. During the flight, flight staff made sure my child was happy/comfortable which meant a lot to me."
Cons: "The normal things- better cushioned seats with some lumbar for those of us with back/nerve issues; a little wider seat options in economy for heavier people or those with lap infants; Honestly I’m reaching because I was just really happy with my flight/plane/crew service."

Cons: "Took off late from Minneapolis only to announce that there was something wrong with the plane, no explanation as to what but that we had to circle to burn off fuel before returning to Minneapolis. Switched to a flight to D.C. with a connection to get to LGA. As soon as we sat down on that flight an announcement was made that we wouldn't make our connecting flight. Got to D.C. and asked to switch to go into Westchester instead of LGA which we were denied. So changed to another connecting flight to LGA that didn't take off on time. Offered nothing for any of the inconveniences. Etc."

For example... if you want to make boarding quicker, build the cost of checked luggage into ticket prices so that you don't have people carrying everything on and clogging up the process. Or use the existing and publicly available research to improve boarding mechanisms... but that would mean you lose an opportunity to squeeze extra cash out of people for 'priority boarding'. This phenomenon is real, and currently be investigated by congress. Call your senator."

Pros: "The flight staff did the best they could for how few of them there were."
Cons: "Flight cancelled, and the gate was understaffed, so it took forever to even get up to the counter to try arranging alternate flights. Also, the Kayak/Webjet tickets we were issued interfered with the process as the airline could not reissue us tickets directly. Moreover, one Kayak & Webjet got actively involved, they even tried to deny us passage on the alternate flights that American Airlines suggested. By the time we did make it up to the desk, everything was taken/full for the next few days & we have been struggling to make our overseas travel even possible ever since."

Pros: "It was nice that I had a seat empty next to me, allowing for extra room. Flight was a little early in landing in Dallas, allowing for extra time for a short layover to find my terminal and gate for my next flight."

Cons: "The personnel handling the front desk at check in gave myself and others bad information about how to check a bag. Which resulted in me being called to the desk at the gate about 30 minutes prior to boarding and being told I screwed up checking my bag when I was just following the instructions given to me. Was then told I had to leave the secure area of the airport, go back to the front to check my bag all within 30 minutes of boarding. when I returned thru the TSA checkpoint they were rude, obviously, but more importantly the flight was boarding early. So you could've 1. told me what the actual procedure is for checking my bag instead of telling me "just leave it by the green lit up check mark then 2. told me at the gate that not only do i need to go fix your mistakes for you but that youd also board my flight early thereby putting me in jeopardy of missing my flight. all i got was a very insincere apology when I complained up front and at the gate about the airline's screw up. i get that you're all human like me and make mistakes but the customer is always right. there was a time in this country when customer appreciation and service were important standards and qualities businesses thrived on. Don't know what happened to those days... Also i should not need to be a first class passenger to get a meal during a flight. whatever happened to meals for everyone? you (all airlines in the US) charge way too much money and provide poor service compared to pre-9-11 days. I dont see how one event can justify the loss in service but the increase in ticket price. you should all get back to what flying should be about: fun and time saving."

Cons: "Think it is ridiculous that I had to pay so much to select a seat ahead of time, and it was just a regular seat. I can understand for extra legroom or exit row, but for a regular seat, that is ridiculous. Then there was a fee to change priority boarding, so I could ensure I was able to have my carry-on with me, instead of risk having it go underneath. Unable to use the entertainment, as I was unaware had to use my own device, which I had not set up in advance."

Cons: "I called American Airlines as ssoon as I book my trip to set up and make sure my small dog could fly with me. They neglected to inform me their partner, jetstar, does not fly animals. My luggage did not arrive with me. Both of my suitcases were mangled and broken. Items in my suitcases were shattered and crushed even though they were well packed and protected. We got stuck on the terminal in MSP and missed our connecting flight. When we finally arrived the systems were down and could not get new flights or hotels. We were told we could not get hotels and had to argue for an hour. Even though it was a maintenance issue. I arrived a day late and had to take extra leave. The plane from LAX to Tokyo was horrific. I booked a window seat, was stuck in the very middle. There was no way to charge outlets devices. The screen did not work. And my new luggage was also damaged with even more items destroyed."

Cons: "The leg room was barely enough for me and I'm 5'4". I can't imagine people much larger than me being comfortable at all. Also, the chair made my back hurt, so I did a lot of sitting up straight as opposed to being "in the chair". I noticed that you had snacks for purchase on the flight, but the free snacks were cookies and pretzels. It would be nice to offer a trail mix or dried fruit. Pretzels are good for people who might be a little sick at their stomach, but better snacks are a nice option. I ordered coffee and it was perfect. Overall, the flight was a good flight, just a little tweaking and it would be great. Thanks for asking."

When we tried to board, the crew would rudely say, it's not your turn. We were flying for a funeral and paid a lot for our tickets. We should be treated with respect. One lady said to put our luggage in the first available compartment, then when we tried, another lady rudely said, if that's not where you're sitting, you can't put your bag there. We were embarrassed and when we tried to explain what we'd been told she told us to keep moving."

Allegiant posted an initial delay of 30 minunutes but then, when there was a further 2 hour delay due to a problem with the plane in Vegas Allegiant didn't update the time. (G4 568 was showing a two hour delay, with a 1010 arrival into STS but Allegiant never updated the departure time for 569 to reflect the additional two hour delay.) It wasn't until I called that it got updated and when I called I had to point out that the airplane hadn't even left Vegas and Allegiant was still showing an 8:50 departure time. It also took the reservation agent over 20 minutes to get any information about what was going on. Lastly each and every time I call I was on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes before being able to speak to a person"

The pilot forgot to turn off the seat belt sign and almost 40 minutes into a very smooth flight when I asked MYRNA the flight attendant if she could ask the pilot to turn it off so that I could use the rest room. she snarled at me "the pilot makes those decisions". I asked if she could call and remind him and again I got a snarl "He apparently has deemed it not safe to do so". Miraculously the sign came off with a moment or two of her going to the back of the plan, after apparently calling him. I guess customer service has a different meaning to her. The other crew members weren't overly friendly either. Who needs that. Fly Southwest for approximately the same price and actually feel like a valued customer The price isn't that much different."

I had to stop checking in, wait in line, and then the employee that I talked to didn't have the right kind of badge to swipe. So I waited again. Extremely inconvenient. Even after being forced to talk to a ticket agent at check in, they still won't issue a seat. So you have to go to the gate and wait in line again to get a seat. The system is built for maximum inefficiency. It doesn't cost less for them to make me talk to two separate people, it is only to inconvenience the flyer for buying a cheaper ticket. It seems like a punitive system. Boarding was organized and painless. The crew seemed polite. Regarding comfort, the "leg room" on the airbus is ridiculous. I am average height and felt claustrophobic. I can't imagine how a tall person feels. There was no " entertainment" on my flight, so one star for that. I didn't not receive any food and was not offered water, 1 star."

Cons: "They canceled our flight home from PHX to MSP, they blamed weather in DFW, which is bull, there were many other airlines flying out of DFW that morning. Because they blamed weather, there was no compensation for screwed up schedules. The next available flight was 2.5 DAYS later!! no other options, it was ridiculous... they were no help to get rebooked on another airline, or even driving to another airport... horrible all around. We ended up driving to Mesa Gateway, flying Alegiant Air to Fargo, renting a car, driving 5.5 hours back to MSP to get our car, then 2.5 hours home again. But it's all good, Spirit refunded that leg of our fare... $220... we spent over $750 to get home by 1am, when we should have been there by early afternoon. DONT EVER FLY SPIRIT - THEY'RE THE WORST..."

Cons: "Spirit had many cancelled flights while I was in Las Vegas. Mine was one. They said it was weather related and therefore couldn't accommodate hotels. Well, every other airline was able to get out. I think there was a staffing issue and management didn't want to actually provide decent service to their customers. I was stuck I. The airport over night with a 3 month old. It was awful. Then my next flight, a sink broke and was spewing water all down the aisle so we had to delay the flight and we're deplaned. Not impressed and won't fly with them again. After all said and done, I don't think it saved me any money."

Pros: "When purchasing the ticket they were Very upfront about alerting you to possible baggage restrictions and fees for ANY carryon aside from one small item. I was only traveling overnight so I was able to carefully pack in one very small "personal item" sized backpack. If I hadn't carefully checked their website I would have had to pay $55 for a regular small carry on and far more for checking a suitcase. Most people had similar small personal bags. I was astonished when a woman showed up with a huge rolling suitcase and large carryon. I hoped she was traveling for a month to justify the fees she would incur!!"
Cons: "What they don't tell you up front is you have to pay $23 per person per flight if you want to pick your seat to insure you sit next to the person you're traveling with. I was flying wirh my boyfriend so of course I wanted to sit next to him for the 2 1/2 flights but didn't want to pay $100 for the privilege. We rolled the dice and we're luckily assigned seats together. Not the case for several other people flying together. They also don't tell you, until it's time to print your boarding pass, that if you can't download the boarding pass by smartphone or print at home it costs $10 to print at the kiosk. I had to scramble ro get it printed because the code doesn't show up on an android phone. Again, we got lucky because my boyfriend has an iPhone and could download and print screen our boarding passes. We weren't surprised at all that all food and beverages (yes, water included) had costs associated but thats become fairly standard in the industry now. Overall it was a pleasant flight, the flight attendants were efficient and helpful and we arrived right on schedule."

I found the seats quite uncomfortable because they don't recline at all! Food/Beverage: Nothing is provided - not even water. Baggage Check: When making reservations, $30/bag to check didn't seem too bad. However, when pre-registering my luggage, in order to receive the $30/bag rate, I would have needed to spend $50 additional for a membership. I don't fly enough to make that worthwhile."

It's actually cheaper to have the airline handle your luggage than for you to carry it. The fact luggage fees seem to randomly change. I was charged 45$ for my bag on the outbound flight but for some reason I was charged 57 for the same bag for the return flight. Had I been made fully aware of all these charges I would have been able to save money while flying on a real airline."

Pros: "I had very low expectations of Spirit Airlines... from their reputation and things I read online. But my family and I had a GREAT experience yesterday. Our bag check process went smoothly and the staff was very courteous. Everything went smoothly for boarding and my husband, my son and I all sat together in the same row. Everything couldn't have went smoother and i really wondered what all the fuss was about Spirit airlines??? We had a really great experience and would do it again. Can't beat the price, even if you pay to check a couple of bags ahead of time."

When I called Customer services, i was told that there is nothing that They could for me because they are not at the Airport with. Someone warned me about them, but I thought that maybe it was that one time, but I was disappointed big time. My sister lost a baggage with spirit 2 years ago and they never helped. Cons: "The airline didn't allow me to print my boarding pass until 8:30 pm on the night before my scheduled 8:38 am departure. At that time the fliglht departure time was delayed. In the morning the flight was delayed again. Fortunately I had a three hour layover in Atlanta, so the delays only meant less of a layover. The seats were uncomfortable. It was a clear day without many clouds, but somehow the pilots on both of my flights weren't able to hold the planes steady during the takeoffs, climbing to altitude, and approaches for landings. The planes were wobbling a lot---like they were no longer on smooth automatic pilot."

Cons: "Spirit cancelled on me last minute and would not put me on another airline to get to Minnesota. It was a terrible experience and I have no interest flying with them ever again. After speaking to a counter agent, I called them and they couldn't get me on anything to get to Minnesota that day, which is when I absolutely had to be there in order to get my work done. It was a huge waste of my time and resources. Sure, I got my ticket price back - only after arguing with them that the reason that I should get my full ticket back (instead of just the leg to Minnesota) is because THEY cancelled on ME."

Aisle, window and middle seats board together so people are constantly clogging aisles during boarding to let people into middle and window seats. As a result the policies that reduce carry-ons don't speed up boarding. They do clog up the departure lounge as people who haven't paid for a carry-on are pulled aside for a charge that makes their total flight cost the same as a carrier with the usual, albeit slim, amenities of most domestic airlines.This flight was hours late as was the other leg of this trip. Seats do not recline, at all. Some seat backs are just a layer of fabric, so if someone puts a knee or foot forward you get a real jab."

Spirit should not be listed with other airlines on flight services such as Kayak because of their hidden fees, and charging for carry on items. You should not have to sign up for their frequent flyer program in order to print a boarding pass."

Cons: "No effort to get me on flight which I suspect was delayed. $5.00 credit with Spirit not applied to new flight as promised. 2 hrs. 34 mins on a stopped plane no fun. A few minutes more and, by law, we would have been de-planed. Nobody likes long hours on a stopped plane. Flight attendant Cindy is a problem waiting to happen. She seemed to have an authority issue. She instructed us to remain on carpet and out of galley-flight attendant area she said. I did that and she still asked me and another passenger to move. "Standing near my doorway scares me" she said. I also heard her reprimand mothers with children very un-professionally. Not very nice table manners."

Pros: "Our flight was delayed and then cancelled. There was one woman who was helpful in customer service when I arrived at the airport. I explained that I had to change my flight recently and am 6.5 months pregnant. Because my travel was booked within 7 days of the original flight, I was charged a $90 fee to make the change even though I made the change within 2 hours of booking. I was not reimbursed the difference of the flights. I was instead given a voucher to use within 60 days for the difference minus the $90 fee. I sent to online requests to customer service requesting contact because I am pregnant and will likely not be up for travel for several months. I got no response. The customer service rep who helped my friend and I book a replacement flight when our flight was cancelled was great and did his best with a sense of humor. It was obvious all of the staff did their best but were honest about the limits they had in being helpful: we waited in flux for an hour to find out if the cancellation was confirmed after being delayed for several hours. It was made clear that the replacement flight had to be within the range of the cost of the original ticket. Spirit ticket costs are completely misleading because of fees added for carry on bags, printing a ticket, water on the plane, etc. People tried their best but the set up including the website feel like an intentional scam."

Cons: "This flight: -Pilots were delayed, plane left 50 min after scheduled time. -While we waited the cabin was pretty hot and uncomfortable which made no sense considering the outside temp was in the 60s Every flight: -The really loud /long credit card advertisement announcements -the seat in front of you is about an inch too close unless you pay extra, then you have almost too much -they keep fares low by sticking it to people that can't keep track of all the little rules to avoid fees. Luckily I made it past the traps. -I don't like that they are further decreasing the allowed size for free personal item starting in a few months, seems like an unnecessary measure to stick more people with last minute bag fees. -The website is not great, I have only flown spirit about 5 times and I have had the website crash while trying to check in at least 3 time. At two check-in's per flight, that's a 30% failure rate. and then there's more ads, yay my favorite..."

On my return flight I sat next to someone who for sure was on some sort of methamphetamine or heavy upper and could not sit still for a moment. or stop scratching herself. There is no phone line at all that gets you to a human to speak to... at all! So asking for specific flight details was impossible. To get a bottle of water on a 5.5 hour flight was $3 which is inappropriate. The seats do not recline and are small. If you do not pay for you carry on a head of time they will charge you $100 which is basically robbery. I will never fly spirit ever again."

When I went to collect my ticket the customer service individual said I HAD to use the kiosk. It wouldn't print my ticket causing me to now be pushing it even closer to take off. She ended up having to call and get permission to allow me to have my ticket to proceed to boarding. If she would have helped me to begin with I don't think the extra time for a phone call would have been necessary. I do however thank the attendants and flight managers there that day for helping to ensure I made my flight back home without fail."

Cons: "I picked Spirit because it was the cheapest. You get what you pay for. Keep in mind when you choose Spirit, you will have to pay for your carry on that is not your personal item, pay if you want to pick your seat, and pay if you have the person at the counter print your ticket. Spirit also cancelled our flight. We spent about an hour on the phone with Spirit and said that they booked me on another flight. When I went to check in, they didn't have a reservation for me. It was such a cluster. I will pay the extra money to not fly Spirit."

Cons: "I checked in online the night before, but did not print my boarding pass. When going to check bags, I waited in line only to find out at the counter that I have to print my boarding pass at a kiosk - if they do it for you they will, of course, charge you. Ridiculous. When I went to print the boarding pass, I got charged again - apparently it did not go through the night before for some reason although I was never alerted. So I was charged more now for paying at the airport vs. night before. Not to mention, two charges showed on my account."

Cons: "I called 10 days before my flight to cancel it due to a death in the family. I was told someone from management would call me within 5 day about the matter. I never heard back so I called the day before my flight and I was told once again that someone from management would call me within 5 days. They apologized that no one ever called me the first time. It's been 13 days since that last phone call and I still haven't heard back. Three tickets down the drain and no one ever called me back so I could at least pay the cancellation fee to get credit for another future flight. Horrible customer service!"

Cons: "I didn't like the charge for my "carry-on", that fit in the bin that stated, "if it fits, it's free" Wasn't free, $65 on the way to Minn. and $55 on the way back to LA. I also think your flight attendants talk way too much over the intercom. I get if you are trying to push your credit card, but I didn't need to hear about it for what seemed like 15 minutes. For people on such an early flight who would probably like to catch up on some sleep a little more quiet would have been nice. Also I think someone can spent max $10 at a hardware store and purchase something to place on the restroom doors so that they don't need to slam so much. I guess that's the price you pay for sitting in the a last row by the restrooms. **I think those seats rates should be cheaper. But probably never booking with Spirit ever again"

Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "The extreme restrictions on luggage are very hard to deal with, and during the flight there are constant announcements for drinks and snacks for sale. Considering the base rate for a flight is only a little less than other airlines, and if you decide to pay for a reasonably-sized suitcase it's actually more expensive than other airlines, it doesn't make a lot of sense to fly with Spirit. It also feels like they're doing you a favor for even letting you on the plane, rather than grateful for your business. The entire Spirit experience drives me up a wall."

Cons: "The $30 up charge and no cash policy was obnoxious and exceptionally inconvenient. It cost me $47 to check 1 bag. I had to put money on a pay card. The pay card itself cost $5 which caused me to have to out $60 on the card to cover the cost of 1 bag. On top of that, the machine took my money only to tell me that it was out of cards. It turned into a bit of a wild goose chase. The people at the spirit counter took care of it but ended up giving me a blank card after it was all said and done and lost out of my $8 in change."

Cons: "The flight attendants were totally unprofessional. After falling asleep during taken off, what sounded like a rowdy brunch with too many mimosas woke me up. It turned out to be four flight attendants hanging out in the rear of the plane chatting very loudly. They were certainly the loudest people on this 6:30 am flight. They were much louder than the three young unattended minor boys on the flight. It sounded like they were having a great time. They were even swapping "funny" stories about passengers from previous flights. I could have slept despite the uncomfortable non-reclining seats on this flight but the flight attendant party made it it impossible. I am sure I was not the only one. Everyone in the back 5 rows was awake. The most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. On another note, the spirit website that one must use to check in for free is a pain. The mobile version does not work properly and the password reset link doesnt workl"

Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "My flight kept getting delayed, and ultimately cancelled. For some reason Spirit did not feel the need to just let passengers know the status of the aircraft so that they could make other arrangements. I had to fly into a different city, rent a car, and drive home 2 hours (after sitting in an airport with no idea what was going on with my flight for approximately 6 hours). For my troubles? A $50 voucher for an airline I will NEVER fly again. No reimbursement. No nothing. And the kicker? It was entirely on Spirit. It was a maintenance issue. Absolutely horrible."

Pros: "That it didn't crash. Although that would have spared me the return ride on Spirit airlines."
Cons: "I'm not even sure where to start. Both of my flights were delayed with no explanation. Airport terminal and airplane were filthy. It literally spelled like diapers and bad cologne. There were extra charges for every possible thing, including reserving a seat and checking in at the airport. If I had known this I would have flown another airline because I ended up spending more money with Spirit. The seats don't recline, and I was told I could get water out of the bathroom sink if I wanted some. The airline crew was making several lewd and inappropriate comments on the return flight, including a male attendant saying he rubbed everyones pens down his pants. All around horrible."

Pros: "The staff for the most part was friendly."
Cons: "I am so upset by my trip with Spirit. This was my first time flying with them and I will NEVER do it again. I rather drive my 12 hour trip. They hit me with a $52 fee at check in to take a carry-on and the first lady I spoke with said it was my fault for not booking with them and checking their policies and that's what I get for booking with a 3rd party. Also, she told me that most people don't fly with carry-on's just a bookbag or purse - which looking around was obviously not true. The whole line of people was outraged at this new policy. Since I only had cash on me for my trip I had to pay and extra $5 to get it onto a visa gift card because they don't take cash. On the plane they argued with the woman behind me that they couldn't even give her water without charging her like $4. Nothing is free. Nothing is comfortable. No entertainment - not even radio to plug your headphones into. They told me if I booked my carry-on online it would only be $25 instead of $57. So I tried to do so about 5 times while on my trip and it kept saying they would send me a confirmation to set up my account. Which never came. I followed all instructions and I tried different emails to make sure that wasn't the problem. I ended up leaving my carry-on with my parents and shoving everything I could into a large purse. in the end flying with Spirit was MORE EXPENSIVE than the other airlines I looked into. I wish I could go back and not learn that painful lesson. Thank you Kayak for the ease of booking my flight."

Cons: "Flight was cancelled, due to maintenance issue. spent all day in the airport, flight was scheduled to leave at 10am found out at. 3pm that is was cancelled, staff was very rude, gave us a card to call spirit to rebook. When called the agent couldn't help for an hr due to a system update and asked me to call back in a hr and to keep trying number. No one in the airport was willing or able to help to rebook. Conflicting information was given by the gate, check in desk and the agent on the phone. We received a $7 food voucher after waiting inline 2 hrs for it. And the only options they offered; was to fly to another airport with an 8 hr layover after being in the airport 12 hrs already and catch another flight at 7am. Or to wait two days to get a flight out of ATL. Worst part was the customer service and rude staff. I won't be flying with spirit in the future. Employees stood around instead of helping and had bad attitudes. And no clue as to flight info, or plane status to keep us updated."

Pros: "The crew seemed friendly, and the baggage arrived at the carousel very quickly."
Cons: "Spirit isn't clear about their fees. It would have been nice to know baggage is cheapest when paid for at the time of buying the ticket, and gets increasingly more expensive throughout the ticket buying and check in procedure. It's bizarre that you have to pay to have carry on luggage, and it seems like their trying to trick their customers into paying the ridiculous $100 fee at the gate. In addition, I don't like that you have to pay $10 to check in at the airport. Not everyone has access to the internet before their flight, especially low income people who are most likely to fly Spirit, so it seems they are taking advantage of that."

Pros: "I am a disabled veteran and I was forced to wait in security twice for over an hour each time because Spirit doesn't allow you to use your emailed boarding pass like ANY OTHER AIRLINE. I have over 20 flights that I will be taking in the next 4 months and I will not be flying with this airline. I'd like to meet whoever runs this airline and have some words with them on how to run a successful business. Everyone I know knows not to fly Spirit. Now I do too. The price can be beat 9/10 times on in a better airline."

Pros: "I disliked everything except how helpful the staff was when I almost puked because of the extreme discomfort of the seats."
Cons: "Being in that seat for 3.5 hours was the worst thing I have ever experienced on an airplane. I think I pinched the Vagus nerve in my abdomen and almost passed out on the airplane. I somehow was able to tell my wife that I needed help, she asked for water, they told me it would be $3 and I told them that I needed to go to the bathroom fast because I was very ill. Made it to the flight attendant's seat by the bathroom and sat there for a minute, then was able to open the bathroom door. Sat on the floor of the bathroom for about 5 minutes and was 100% better. Didn't even need to vomit because my circulation seemed to normalize after getting out of that horrible seat. Imagine - sitting on the floor in the tiny bathroom was more comfortable and actually cured me. They get one star out of 10 from my because they gave me free water. Otherwise it would be zero."

Pros: "I almost swore off Spirit a few years ago, after terrible customer service and unclean planes etc. This trip has made me reconsider. The crew was the best asset. They were entertaining, so pleasant, joking and engaging with customers all while being professional and efficient. Better service than the "premier" airlines that I have recently flown. We were more inclined to order drinks and food onboard because we were in good spirits and felt that we didn't need to wait until touchdown to allow vacation to begin. Thank you for a great experience"

Cons: "flight took off 2 hrs later"

Cons: "I don't fly Spirit that much but what I saw looked good, on time at both stops and I especially liked getting on board early as opposed to waiting until 15 minutes before the plane takes off. What I didn't care for, but what I now understand is all the extra specific charges they continue to bombard you with are really charges you don't need. Bottom line for me is that I think I spent more money because I purchased other things and the final price that I paid was MORE then my the conventional favored airline! I will fly Spirit in the future."

Cons: "The crew is very unfriendly. The cost of the ticket was cheap, however the flight was delayed ntil 2:50 AM when we were supposed to take off at 12:00 AM. I arrived at the airport with some of the spirit staff sitting down and letting me know that the flight may be cancelled altogether since it was delayed. The woman at the desk in the MSP airport told me that if "ya'll don't sit in your seats fast, the plane will be cancelled." This was after arriving at the airport around 3AM since my flight was delayed. I get it, the tickets are cheap.... but should the experience and hospitality be so cheap as well?"
