There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."

Didn't say a word Else to me until it was time to land and my daughter had just fell asleep. She told me. I had to take her out of the baby carrier. My daughter needed a diaper change and there were no places to change her. I tried to change her by the door really fast. The stuardis said no go change in a bathroom I asked which one had a changing station they said none and to just change in my lap. Plus my car seat was broke when I got it back."

They should have told us to print the passes the first time we were at the counter if they knew the mobile passes tend to not work."

Avianca should be embarrassed to be associated with star alliances."

I contacted AA in two ocassions and both times their personnel were impersonal and even rude to me with the whole situation. I ended up losing $250 because of choosing American Airlines. I will do my best to avoid traveling with American ever again, and I will spread the word, as well. I felt robbed, so unfair."

We were told the flight might have to refuel in Richmond due to major weather delays in LGA. When we were landing they said they expected a refuel and a quick turnaround in Richmond. On the plane after landing, I learned via my phone's internet the flight was cancelled. They never announced it on the plane. At the final moment before we disembarked, the crew told us to be sure to take our belongings. When we landed, Flightaware showed delays of 45 minutes at LGA. AA never took responsibility for the problem though the gate crew mentioned they canceled the flight because the crew was going to be over their maximum hours. AA really couldn't plan to allow for up to an hour delay? I feel disrespected and even deceived. Although it was clear that flight attendant really needed to get off that plane. At the gate, we were told there were no available flights to NYC and were stranded overnight in Richmond. AA did offer a hotel pretending it was a courtesy since they claimed the problem was weather related and not theirs. We chose to stay with relatives and were told AA could only provide transportation from the airport which we did not need. We often have problems and cancellations on this route from when it was branded a US Air route to the present, but this was egregious."

Then I went up to the counter and she said it will be an additional 30.00 because both pieces were overweight. I opened the bag that was 51.5 pounds and took out a shoe which lowered it to 49 pounds. She said you still owe me 30.00. I said its under 50 pounds and she replied "It has to be under 40 pounds". I got upset and said I will never every fly Spirit airlines again and she smiled. I said you could care less couldn't you. I am sure its not the first time she has heard that. They also charge you for soft drinks, water, or coffee. So all in all I ended up paying 140.00 each way for my luggage and 158.00 for my ticket, so the entire price to get me and my luggage there and back cost 438.00"

If we were told once over the intercom, we were told at least 20 times that if we dared to put our "personal" item in the overhead compartments we would be charged $100! So they said that you had better come up to the desk so it would be only $65! These threats worked and people who really did have personal size items paid $65 when it should have been free. Also, I suppose we were on a newer plane because I could not believe that the seats were actually hollow and there is no padding! It looks like a normal seat until you sit down and realize the seat in front of you is hollowed out. The tray tables are the size of a smart phone and were too small to support an iPad! I was glad it was only a two hour flight because it was extremely uncomfortable. It made me wonder (and pray) what other shortcuts Spirit has taken recently. The crew wasn't rude but they were so busy checking overhead departments to see who they could charge that I don't think they gave the passengers any thought. We did make it to our destination safely and that is really the most important thing. However, I will really shop around for a different alternative before I flight on Spirit again."

Cons: "Didn't like the fact that had to purchase seat after buying ticket! Then not allowed to take any baggage without charges! Staff members were very nice. Would have been nice to be offer at least a drink of water. I feel I should have taken the other flight I was considering since the only difference was a few dollars that I ended up paying by having to purchased a seat and having to provide necessities, etc when I reached my destination."
Pros: "I like the assigned seats when checking in, it keeps the boarding process less hectic with everyone trying to be the first on the plane to get the "best" seat. The flight crew were friendly and even better had a great sense of humor when giving the standard flight announcements."

Cons: "I sat in a row next to a huge amount of vomit that was there for the duration of the entire flight. Instead of cleaning up the vomit before takeoff, the cleaning crew covered it up with trash bags and let it sit there. It smelled terrible for the entire duration of the flight and I almost threw up myself for having to look at the vomit for the whole flight."
