Despite 5 calls to Swiss to reroute me out of Montreal, an airport I could actually get to, they would not relent. I finally just drove there and a really nice agent changed my flight since Logan was closed and all public transport was shut down. Even if my scheduled flight from boston wasn't canceled (I have no idea) they were incredibly unhelpful about the fact that I physically could not get to logan in time for my flight. (Mass DOT was asking everyone to stay off ALL roads). THEN on the way home, they would NOT let me fly back to Montreal where my car was!! WAY TOO RIGID RULES. Screw the customer!"

Pros: "I really liked the "About my flight" application on the viewing screens because it always gave me an idea of what we were flying over and how much longer we woulld be in the air. The food was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised that I could have wine with dinner or any time the attendants offered beveragess. The attendants were always professional and helpful. They all were fluent in English as well as several other languages. It was a nice touch when the attendant wore white gloves when he or she was collecting passengers' trash after meals and/or beverage service. I loved the cheese that was served at dinner."

I was then rerouted through Istanbul with the promise that I would be well compensated for my troubles. I was told that I would receive a certain amount for every hour I was delayed from my original arrival at end destination. Well I arrived 8 or more hours after I had originally expected (and the reason I booked with Swiss Air was because of the timing and the apparent luxury of the flight). Once I got back home and tried to pursue this amazing compensation I received some of the worst customer service ever and received 0 compensation for the experience. Very disappointed and will never fly swiss airlines again."

The airport was so busy that we had to Wait inside the plain for over an hour because there was (taxiing traffic) and could not get on the take off Lane."

The airline promised overnight stay and transportation. When we got into Istanbul airport after 11:00pm as scheduled, there was no support from the airline. Different airline staff provided different answers. Very confusing. The on-site transfer desk support was unfriendly and not helpful. 2. Tight seat configurations for international flights. For our 13-hour flights, the seats were not comfortable."

Very disappointing but we went on to enjoy our time in Amsterdam. The real problems began when we flew from Amsterdam to Dublin, first we were seated all over the plane and worst of all when we arrived my husband's bag was lost. We went to customer service and completed the paper work. Everything my husband had for the trip was in that bag. Aer Lingus only texted him once and after that he had to call every day to check the status of his bag. Instead of exploring Dublin, we had to spend Sunday shopping to get him clothes for the trip. No word from Aer Lingus. Monday morning July 24 he calls to find the status of his bag. It was found in Amsterdam and was to be flown to Dublin and shipped to our next stop in Kinsale. We arrived Monday evening to find that the bag had not been shipped. Again no word from Aer Lingus. My husband called to find out the status and made arrangements to pick the bag up when we were flying back to NYC. We were happy the bag was found but my husband still was without all of his belongings for our entire trip. On Thursday July 27 we arrived at the airport early to retrieve the bag before we checked in to our flight. We were dismayed to find that there was not a person to talk to but a phone on a column to call to get help retrieving the luggage. There was a queue at the phone with people ahead of us in similar situations. Finally someone came out to escort my husband to get his bag. We were traveling with our son, and again our seats were scattered about the plane. There was no one at checkin to help us, and we didn't get help at the gate. So we had to sit separately for the 6 hour and 30 minute flight. When we claimed our bags, my bag now had tears along with the stains. This was a brand new suitcase and it is now ruined. My husband says he will never fly Aer Lingus again and this was the worst customer service he has had in his life. The customer service was virtually non existent."

Cons: "I did not like the fact they did not serve dinner. I have Never been on an international flight without dinner. Seats are also uncomfortable and outdated. Never again !!!"

Cons: "Check-in was the worst, took over an hour. Icelandair had everyone in the same line, whether you had a boarding pass and were just dropping off baggage, or whether you had to check baggage and check in. Only 2 ground crew for the whole plane to check in."
Pros: "I like the route going through Reykjavik so that we can avoid New York and Chicago connections."

Cons: "I was traveling with my 72 year old mother and had 2 hand luggages with me. No one offered or bothered to assist my mother down the flight of stairs to get down to board the bus awaiting for transfer on the initial flight to Hamburg. The flight attendants just stood there doing nothing. I hope this airline becomes so unpopular that Americans will boycott traveling with them. Lesson learned. Just like Delta Airlines, poor customer service, cheap overpriced meals will be the downfall of this airline."

Pros: "- We arrived safely. - Crew was cordial, polite and professional. - Company allows delaying flight delay up to a week free of charge, to enable tourism in Iceland (we did not take advantage this time)."
Cons: "- Reykjavik airport boarding is a mess (as always). No waiting area with seating near gates. People are standing in hallways like cattle. - Plane was louder than usual, even though we were seated near front, 2 rows behind first class. - insufficient legroom for taller people. - company charges extra for exit row seats. - no complimentary food, except for children under 12, for a transatlantic flight. - some trash (plastic bottles) left under seats from previous flight. - human waste smell from septic tank in cabin toward end of flight."

Cons: "It was sooooo warm. I was practically sweating!"
Cons: "Flight cancelled because of a mechanic strike. Airline didn't tell us this, just kept delaying the flight. Passengers didn't know of the flight cancellation until we got to the gate (4 1/2 hr after scheduled departure). I strongly suspect they knew all along that the flight was going to be cancelled. A little advance notice would have given us a chance to make other plans. We flew out the next day on Delta (a far superior experience)."
Cons: "They wouldn't let my wife and I sit together because there were "too many families sitting together already". When we asked why we weren't considered a family the woman at check in told us "sorry, maybe you should have a baby.""
