Pros: "Theres no earphone, how to watch?"
Pros: "Paid seat was comfortable, entertainment was great"
Cons: "The elder gentleman was very rude throughout the flight. Paid for front row seat mostly due to covid and he made us seat and wait for people that had a connection flight to exit the plane all the way from the end of the aircraft defeating the purpose of me buying the front row seat at $65 which was more than the seat was worth. The way the crew asked was was very rude because he stated if we stand up he would keep the door closed. I understand about the passengers with connection flight but its Jetblue responsibility to get these people to their connection but it shouldn’t jeopardize me."
Pros: "Crew is nice."
Cons: "Snack options. More frequencies of passing snacks. Limited options for movies"
Cons: "It was a 6 hour flight and I didn’t know only 2 snacks and a water were available on the plane until I got to the airport. Almost everything was still closed at the airport. We were quite hungry and thirsty."
Cons: "Maybe Food? I don't say during the COVID19"
Pros: "I liked the male flight attendants on my flight. They were nice and cheery and was always willing to help. The inflight entertainment and WiFi was great. The snacks were also good."
Cons: "I forgot to the flight attendant’s name but she was quite rude. I traveled with an infant who required warming up of her milk in a bottle and I would ask for hot water and she failed to bring it over. I requested hot water twice. Initially when the plane was taking off- she stated she cannot bring anything while the flight was taking off but even after take off and in cruising altitudes she did not come over until we rang the call bell and another flight attendant came over. Second time mid flight we happen to ask the same flight attendant for hot water as she passed by— she nodded her head but again never returned with the hot water. Again I hit the call button and another attendant came over and gave me water. I felt that she did not like attending to the flight guests and always seemed to give an attitude. I understand traveling with a child may be hard for others, but imagine the parents who have to care for a starving baby. The flight was also a bit too warm."
Cons: "The headphone jack.was worn out, so the audio was sporadic."
Cons: "Flight was very delayed, waiting on pilots to arrive. The. We sat on the runway for a long time without leaving as well. Crew also made us gate check bags when there was still plenty of overhead space left on plane."
Cons: "Horrible communication during flight delays and pilot timing out. Sat at the gate for hours with no communication."
Pros: "The seats were comfortable, and the crew was friendly."
Cons: "Entertainment units were just there for the sake of it, and didn't actually provide any entertainment"
Cons: "JetBlue is amazing and my favorite airlines for domestic travel."
Pros: "Plenty of leg room in economy seats."
Cons: "clearly communicate delays. We had no idea what was happening or what our options were."
Pros: "Boarding was fast and easy but that may have been because it was a small plane."
Cons: "After landing we sat on the tarmac for 2 hours! This is unacceptable. The gate was occupied by a plane having mechanical issues. This was the second time I have flown JetBlue and the second time I’ve had to sit on the tarmac for hours because of some sort of issue. Never flying JetBlue again if I can help it."
Pros: "Fly crew were friendly"
Cons: "The airplane seamed VERY WEARED OUT, even the winds, when you look through the window. Crew had to beat really hard carry-on luggage containers to close them. There was a lot of turbulence and because of the visible bad conditions of the plane we heard noises from the fuselage that were not normal. We feared for our lives... when in the way for landing we were loosing altitud softly, as it should, but there was a moment that the pilot pushed SUDENLY up again in a very hard way, after a few minutes he said it was to allow more time between planes, and that we will do one more tour that will take 10 more minutes. When we finally landed people were clapping, we also clapped celebrating we were alive. I think, if Jet Blue doesn’t replace or at least FIX this kind of rusty planes, I’m done with this company. It was a couple of dollars cheaper, but, my life is worth more than this."
Pros: "The movies were okay. The crew was accommodating."
Cons: "We spent 45 minutes on the tarmac, enough time to watch the baggage personnel throw our bags into his trolley with zero reason for him to do so. If you pack anything fragile... good luck."
Pros: "Easy boarding and flight"
Cons: "There’s nothing special about jet blue anymore."
Cons: "The new security check in with the automated bins."
Pros: "Huge leg room in coach. Free large bag of snacks and they didn't charge me for a snack box filled with chumous, bean dip, crackers, biscotti etc value $9. I thought Jet Blue was like Spirit, but its TOTALLY different. Not at all a budget level airplane or crew."
Pros: "Extra leg room, comfortable, leather seats, cleanliness of the cabin, efficiency and friendly manner of the staff, assigned seating and enough room in the gate area to be comfortable. I also appreciated being able to hear and understand all announcements made in the gate area and on board by the support staff and the captain."
Cons: "Some passengers in the gate area were "seat hogs" sitting in one seat and taking up one to two extra seats for their baggage while people were trying to find places to sit, especially when we experienced delays.. This is not the fault of the airlines, however, but it occurs to me that there could be gentle reminders on in print or in announcements asking people to make room for other passengers."
Cons: "2 hr delay. Poor ventilation"
Pros: "Leg room was great. Free WiFi and TVs made the flight very accommodating."
Cons: "Crying baby. Not the airlines fault."
Cons: "Flight over 3 hours late leaving. Flight attendants rude, and nothing comped for drinks or food to make up for it. Had to circle for 45 min due to weather. Sat on tarmac 30 mijn on other end."
Pros: "Having a tv"
Cons: "Sound jack not working properly , older plane no amenities"
Pros: "The crew could not have been more helpful and pleasant making the delay bearable as they were overtly communicative w all via text, email, and in person keeping is updated! HIGHLT RECOMMEND and will definitely be flying again. :)"
Pros: "Great service and smooth flight. On time, all good things."
Cons: "An individual who was very overweight sat next to me and took up half of my seat as well. I understand we all deserv to ride comfortably and my intent is not to shame them. That said, if someone can’t put the armrest down I think the airline should require them to purchase both seats as it’s very uncomfortable to be in the position of having no seat for the entire ride. I’m an average sized person so it was a challenge but even tiny people deserve the full seat they purchased. There really should be a rule or something."
Pros: "Wide array of snacks and drinks, tv/movies to watch for free, excellent staff from beginning to end, and tons of legroom. The complimentary free check of my carryon way awesome."
Cons: "I liked everything! No complaints at all."
Cons: "Six hours late, then there wasn’t enough fuel and had to wait for paperwork multiple times. Hands down the worst experience I have ever had. I will not be flying JetBlue again."
Pros: "The Entertainment was fine and I appreciated the Captain communicating with us that there would be bumps on the last part of the flight."
Cons: "This was the most unnerving, uncomfortable flight I have ever been on. I really do love Jetblue and I know that this particular flight doesn't define you. That being said I was sorry to have to have experienced this. Even sitting on the runway before taking off the ride was uncomfortable as we swerved our way to the take off position. The weather was nice and it felt so strange that were going back and forth as if the path was filled with sharp S-curves. Then the entire flight was bumpy as we went up and down and all around. I would say there was about 20 mins of smooth air the entire flight. Then there was the last 90 minutes which was absolutely terrifying. I know that the turbulence can't be helped but I do feel the Flight attendants were not very accommodating during it. I sat near the back and they just sat there and chit chatted about something they were meeting up to do later while people were up and about when the seat belt sign was on. Then there was a baby screaming for many hours and they never tried at all to help the parents or anything calm them. They mostly just sat in the back, complained it was bumpy and laughed about how people were agitated because of it. I found it to be so much more frustrating that in addition to the bumpy air, crying baby and passengers just roaming around we also had to deal with the attendants laughing about how uncomfortable we were. It was not what I have ever experienced before and I truly hope I never have to experience again on JetBlue."
Cons: "Almost a 9 hour ordeal. 4 hour delay because of weather for flight because one crew that was supposed to take our flight had “timed out.” Didn’t take off til after 1am. Finally landed and sat on plane because a plane at our gate was “disabled.” It’s 4:33am, I’ve been off the plane for half an hour, no baggage coming out of the carousel yet and no sign of this absolutely horrific experience ending anytime soon."
Pros: "Loved all the available dedicated JetBlue staff available to answer questions. Have not flown JetBlue often but heard many great things."
Cons: "Weather delay which is out of JetBlue’s control but once we landed (6 hours later) we sat on the runway for an additional hour because our gate had a disable airplane occupying it. I think JetBlue could have done a better job ensuring a back up gate was available or giving their passenger updates on the situation."
Pros: "The leg space"
Cons: "Delay and the space between seats"
Cons: "I never got the opportunity to fly because I was stuck in unusual traffic in a tunnel for over an hour just minutes from the Boston airport. I was later told there was a fire. I called the 1-800-JETBLUE number and I explained that the situation. The agent said that there would be a $75 change fee and at 4:47 pm there were no more flights out that night and that I would also be charged the fare differential the following day. I quickly went on line and found a deep discounted fare on United for $56! When I got to the airport there were several other people with the same situation. Not a enough agents on staff and no concern that I might miss my new flight on United. Thank Gid I acted fast and got another flight that evening or I would have needed to spend the night in the airport like a woman and her mother traveling to San Jose! Need more professionalism !"
Cons: "I was delayed half a dozen times, only to be canceled. Rescheduled on a flight that was scheduled to depart two hours before the original flight. Rescheduled after an hour hold. That flight was delayed the following day. Was diverted to Baltimore only to find out only some of us on our flight are getting out by a rude agent. Then no information at all. Had to run to catch an amtrak. Later found out if I stayed I would have stayed another 13 hours in Baltimore. Missed work and had no one home to take care of my family. Oh, and travel insurance will not cover anything. The plane itself was falling apart. Seat was broken and dirty. Everyones lights were broken and it smelled."
Pros: "JetBlue has great staffdelayed by an hour"
Cons: "Delayed by an hour for a 2 hour flight!"
Pros: "Good flight. The staff was nice, especially Chris. Nice to see complimentary beverages and snacks still offered on domestic flights."
Cons: "Seats are terrible, and getting worse every year, but thats coach on all airlines not just Jet Blue. Hard armrests, weirdly shaped bucket seats which are appalling in any other position than straight up with 90 degree waist bend. Thats not how humans sit for extended periods of time. A 5 degree recline is not a recline; its a joke. At least the tray table was bigger than my phablet, unlike Spirit where the napkins look like tablecloths on these ‘tables’. Overall, it is better than the cheapest airlines."
Pros: "The TV was free, thats about it."
Cons: "My plane boarded 20 minutes late. Jetblue forgot to de-ice the plane so we missed our takeoff spot and left an hour and a half late. We arrived in SLC over 2 hours late, and then proceeded to wait 20 minutes for an open gate. The entire flight I was seated next to an elderely couple that were making out literally on top of me. When placing my overhead bag, one of the straps were caught in the lock mechanism. Instead of the flight attendant moving my strap and closing the bin, she gave me attitude and told me to fix it myself. 2 hours into the flight i wished to sleep, but my television display was broken. As a result, the brightness of the screen was on the max setting the entire trip. The last two hours of my flight I spent dealing with a headache because the rest of the plane was dark, and the display was half a foot from my face. To top off my horrible experience, the row across from me, and the row in front of me, had a screaming infant which wailed the entire flight long. I will never fly with Jetblue again, and will advise anyone considering it to pick a different airline."
Pros: "I liked that I arrived safely albeit it 6 hours later than I was supposed to land."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed. We were not told our flight was delayed until an hour before the flight was to take off. Then they kept switching the time we were going to take off later and later then earlier then later and later. It would’ve been nice if we got an updated time that we were going to leave- just say come back in six hours rather than make us get up and get down, board the plane, then get off. and get up again then change gates I could not get any work done. I understand that sometimes schedule can be unpredictable but this was ridiculous. One plane that was supposed to leave after us actually left before us and people were getting upset"
Pros: "When I got off the plane"
Cons: "it was late, the plane was dirty, the tv screens didn't work, and the seats were small."
Cons: "It was just a mechanical issue that forced our plane to turn around 2 hours already into the flight, return to JFK, and then wait another two hours to board a new flight to go to PHX. So a planned 10 pm arrival in PHX turned into 6 am. I'm not sure there's anything that could have been done other than checking for that situation before we departed originally (if possible), and maybe being able to land somewhere closer than having to return all the way to JFK. I know JetBlue doesn't have a ton of locations or planes yet, so our options may have been limited. We did receive a $100 credit, but it was a pretty painful flight, basically turning into a red eye after departing originally at 6 pm. Again, I'm not sure if there were any other options, just wanted to report my experience. My flights have typically been on time with JetBlue and I am a Mosaic member. It may have helped if there was better communication back at the JFK airport (knowing it would be two hours instead of thinking we were getting right back on the plane), maybe we could have relaxed in a restaurant or something. It was just exhausting waiting and getting later and later. There isn't an Admirals Club or anywhere relaxing for passengers to wait in a circumstance like that. Thanks."
Cons: "Normally I don’t complain, but from the jump this flight was a nightmare. I fly JB all the time but this time was not nearly as enjoyable. I asked my attendant 2 times to buy headphones. She never brought them and maybe she forgot but She sat in the front on her phone the whole flight which was just irritating. After being delayed (for no apparent reason) Then having to sit for 20+ minutes because of a “jet bridge that’s too cold” (aren’t these made for the out doors?) this JB flight was less than satisfactory."
Pros: "I can’t say there was a single thing that I liked. I suppose if I had like something I would say the pizza I ate before my flight was pretty good."
Cons: "I didn’t like that yet again, my flight (to PBI) was delayed for hours and then upon boarding and making it to the runway, was told that I would be getting back off the plane because we no longer had pilots. I think its good that there is a limit for the amount of hours pilots can fly but to leave an entire plane, the last flight out in particular, to have to wait an additional 2 hours to wait for new pilots is a little ridiculous to me. On top of that, I decide that I would rather go get a hotel than wait to fly out at 1am in the morning, I come to find that I will have to leave my checked bag on the plane and go to my hotel, in Boston, in 17° weather, without a coat or my toiletries, my phone charger....everything I would have needed went to PBI without me. Needless to say, this was by far my worst experience flying Jetblue. And to top it off, this was the second time this trip (flying out of PBI to Boston earlier left me delayed for 5 hours) that I felt like what I enjoy about Jetblue was not at all what I receieved. I understand that the holidays are a challeging and busy time for airlines, but it feels like PBi flights are by far the worst and that for some reason, Jetblue flights for PBI to Boston, and Boston to PBI are nightmares. Very disappointed."
Pros: "leg room & movie"
Cons: "Late flight delayed"
Pros: "Most of the basics were good."
Cons: "The flight was substantially delayed and when we got to Chicago we had to wait a long time for a gate agent so that we could deplane because only one gate agent was working at that hour (10:20 p.m.). Also, the flight delay notifications came after I was close to the airport and at the airport--earlier notifications (if possible) would help. The tv/movie portion of the entertainment was not working at all."
Pros: "Changed to 3 hour earlier flight WITHOUT extra "change fee". It was FREE !! Enjoyed in flight TV with FREE drinks and snacks. As United goes backwards in customer service and costs, JetBlue leaps forward. Good work JetBlue."
Cons: "More options in snack boxes and/or food items"
Cons: "I came 40min prior to my flight and found out that it was too late to check in my bag. I rescheduled my flight for $50 fee to make sure I get in in time for my meeting. When I went inside, I found out that my original flight got delayed and was leaving only 15min earlier than my new flight, which then got delayed for another 45min...disaster. Essentially, I paid extra $50 for nothing. In fact, I would have been on my original flight and gotten to my meeting in time had they not had you are on your own attittude toward customers."
Pros: "Solid crew, comfortable flight, free tv and Wi-Fi"
Cons: "A few factors led to a 6 hour delay. Not necessarily Jet Blue's fault but it was certainly a frustrating day of travel"
Pros: "The plane had 2 wings"
Cons: "Staff is rude. Customer Service couldn't possibly be worst. All their food has meat in it. Staff is slow and incompetent. Never had a more dreadful experience with an airline. TAP IS THE WORST AIRLINE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED, and I fly 2 times a month."
"It was hard to hear the PA announcements for boarding. Maybe also post the info on the screen? Or allow the attendant to pull down his mask when speaking into the PA system?"
"Lots of delays. Armrests are not big enough for two people."
Pros: "Seat very v=comfotable"
Pros: "Plane was new and equipped"
Cons: "In first class we had beef jerky for breakfast"
Pros: "Sanitized, open middle seats, comfortable"
Cons: "We were stuck on the tarmac for 40+ minutes due to our gate being blocked by another plane. We almost missed our connection and had to run through the airport with our luggage and the staff at our second gate yelling “hurry up” at us like it was our fault."
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Pros: "Great crew."
Cons: "For some reason, we were asked several times for Passports. This didn’t make any sense since we are US citizens with drivers license. They even had TSA talk to us. This has to be fixed. Otherwise, Delta experience was great."
Pros: "Don’t go overboard"
Cons: "Good for now"
Cons: "Top carrier"
Cons: "Four hour delay, rude gate agent, seat in front of me was broken making my already small space smaller, the plane smelled."
Pros: "Delayed boarding but made up for lost time in the air"
Cons: "Delayed boarding"
Cons: "Being given seats at the gate. I like to choose my seat."
Cons: "During this trip all my flights got delayed and I was told that I could not get a hotel room and had to pay for myself."
Pros: "this is the airline"
Pros: "Flight was on time. Crew was jovial and very pleasant. Smiles all around. Flight attendant at the very beginning said, "Welcome to flight --- to Bahamas. . . just kidding." It made people chuckle."
Pros: "I love ice cream and chocolate"
Cons: "Healthy vegetarian meal choice"
Pros: "The only thing I liked about the experience and flight was the Delta Sky Club"
Pros: "Small plane without bells and whistles and no middle seats."
Cons: "The internet would not work. I couldn’t use any of the inflight entertainment."
Pros: "Good entertainment options."
Cons: "Only water and coffee available. Flight had been delayed over an hour."
Cons: "Crew didn’t serve drinks/snacks; otherwise nice and short flight"
Pros: "Great food and service in first class"
Cons: "Water waiting on table on arrival"
Pros: "room and services"
Cons: "can't think of anything"
Cons: "Even the baggage was quick (highly unusual for Columbus, Ohio)! Everything went smoothly."
Pros: "Smooth flight."
Cons: "Tight seat. Small space."
Pros: "Overall service was great."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 5 hours."
Pros: "I was trying with a broken arm - the Crew both on the plane and off the plane was wonderful"
Cons: "Would like more food available-not for purchase but with what comes with your flight"
Cons: "We left 30 minutes late due to congestion and I missed a layover. Otherwise it was a great experience"
Cons: "I checked bag at the gate voluntarily in advance and was able to board zone 1. However, when I got to my destination, I found that a large iten had been removed and was missing. The staff would not help locate or recover it."
Pros: "Great service"
Cons: "Look, if your kid is so young that he can’t get in a plane without screaming for four hours, you shouldn’t bring him on a plane and subject 200 people to that. It’s rude and selfish."
Pros: "Everything went great. Flight left a little late but was fine and only arrived a little late. I like the side wings on head rests really help."
Cons: "Seats are always hard on long flights."
Cons: "After we boarded and were already sitting in our sits the stewardess came and removed our bags from the overhead compartment for another person with a larger bag! We ended up storing our bags under the sits in-front. The way it was done it was rude and with no consideration for our comfort."
Pros: "Excellent crew, snacks and coffee, comfortable economy seats. Plane landed 15 min early. Bags beat me to the carousel."
Pros: "Plane was on time."
Cons: "My seat assignment was in the last row of the plan when the plane was not full"
Cons: "The volume controls on the tv we’re pretty poor. Was either too loud or too soft with only 5-6 volume settings."
Cons: "Delayed so I was not home until middle of the night."
Pros: "Direct flight, on time, friendly crew, smooth flight"
Pros: "Cabin crew and captain were great."
Cons: "Don't like how you don't get your seat assignment until you get to the gate. I was given the window seat in the very last row for a 6 hour flight, quite uncomfortable. I could've booked another airline for a similar price and picked the seat i wanted at booking. They ran out of food choices by the time they got to the last row, so we were given whatever was left. Delayed because one of the bathroom doors wasn't working, 30 min later still wasn't fixed and ultimately they decided to go without it."
Pros: "The staff. They were very helpful and polite!"
Cons: "We didn’t leave on time"
Pros: "Your entertainment system is fabulous!"
Cons: "We purchased a direct flight from Boston to Tampa. We paid extra for the convenience of a direct flight Our flight was changed without notification to a connecting flight that was leaving 10 minutes earlier and arriving 2 hours later. Due to malfunction with the kiosk and not a sufficient amount of agents at check in, we missed our flight by 4 minutes. The gate agent seemed to enjoy telling us, with our 10 month old baby, that we were too late. Our baggage, including car seat, had been loaded on the plane. We were reassigned to a flight the following morning. We missed a full day with family, had to travel back home without a car seat and return to the airport the following day. I was shocked and disappointed that not single Delta agent was accommodating or remotely helpful while we were at the airport. I've never had a problem with Delta before. We travel on regularly and would like to continue using Delta. I would like a voucher for my next Delta trip."
Pros: "Boarding, checking in etc. The usual stuff, nothign spectacular."
Cons: "Seats are getting too crowded!"
Pros: "the service in general very nice"
Pros: "Everything was just right"
Pros: "you must be kidding me!!! nothing to say good about this fly !!The sad part I'm American Express Delta SkyMiles credit card holder and they couldn't do anything for meThe only good thing we arrive in Mexico"
Cons: "flying to Mexico with. my two boys !!to begin I have to call Delta to put us seat together because the time of the fight had changed!! before we are siting by de middle of the plain when a booked r three seat together !! but than i got a imail confimatin with separete seattle for the kids!!we end up sitting all the way back on the plan!! we end up sitting all the way back on the plane l!! no TVs no windows in the last sits by the only two bathrooms on the plane with two boys that was not fun at all !!The sad part I'm American Express Delta SkyMiles credit card holder and they couldn't do anything for me when I called them"
Pros: "The crew was friendly and accommodating, and service was good"
Cons: "I purchased a basic economy ticket and upon checking in, my Delta app said my seat was unassigned and I had to get my boarding pass at the airport. I checked back later and the app had me as number 7 on the standby list. I called Delta (wait time 3+ hours... my flight was in 3), and then the Delta app support where I was able to get through to someone. She told me that the ticket I purchased over a month in advance did not guarantee me a seat on the plane (???). She said that if I was bumped from the flight they would reschedule me for the next morning. She was pretty rude and made it seem like I had a 50/50 shot of getting on this plane. I rushed to the airport in hopes that I would be the first from Standby there, and the gate agent told me that I was fine and would board right after first class and be assigned a seat then. Great. Once I got my seat assignment, I board to find out there is someone else sitting in my seat...... They eventually called the desk and had her moved, but it was the weirdest boarding experience I've had.. and I've flown Spirit. These planes that Delta fly's are SO OLD. Both times I have flown Delta the "turbulence" has been so bad and cold air was blowing right on my the whole flight with no option to turn it off (it wasn't from one of the vents, but from the side). Someone close to me works for Delta and I know for a fact that some of their engines blow mid-flight.. and they tell the passengers that it's turbulence.. so that doesn't make me feel very safe. I won't fly Delta again if there is another comparable option."
Pros: "Flight on time"
Cons: "Unfriendly sataff. Not informed that we have to me know in with a difrnt confirmation number related to the operating Claire. I had to spent one hour to fit this information to be able to check in.? It was an international flight but it was treated like a domestic flight. We were not even offered the curtesy snake for a domestic flight by unfriendly stewards apparently unhappyted with her job. Apparanty all American carrier staffs has no respect for customers. It is not only s united problem. Curtesy and respects goes both ways. They need to be retrained in public relation."
"The flight was delayed several times & left over an hour late"
"They cancelled my departure flight, and the rebooking process was not easy. My returning flight boarded late. You get what you pay for."
Pros: "The crew was fine. The seats were small and did not recline"
Cons: "They could have handed out water and a snack in a bag. Instead they charge 2.99 for a bottle of water."
Pros: "There was no redeeming qualities to flying Frontier"
Cons: "Literally everything. They charged for everything, hidden fees and terrible staff. Will never fly frontier again"
Pros: "That I paid for an aisle and it was comfortable. The boarding process and that there was room for my handbag"
Cons: "Delayed flight. Switched planes. People without masks. No one enforced the mask rule and it made me very uncomfortable"
Pros: "It was just an overall great flight. Very easy to book and enjoyed it."
Cons: "I look forward to drinks and snacks onboard again."
Cons: "Everything!!! No Masks in board during COVID? Terrible!!!"
Cons: "There were no snacks/drinks and no usb."
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "The plane was so hot, not socially distanced, and boarding and exiting literally should be more organized. United does “hey rows 1-10 may exit” and it’s a calm situation. Frontier was like “Okay everyone off!”"
Cons: "We booked Fontier for our trip coming from Miami and flying into Chicago, months ahead of time. This flight was booked to return home after our debarkation of the Carnival Victory Cruise. There was an unfortunate event that occurred while we were aboard and only about 40 minutes away from being back in Miami; 26-year-old Thomas McElhany had gone overboard. Although we were close to the Miami port, The Carnival Cruise made the decision to turn the boat around in search for the missing persons body. We had absolutely NO control over this. After calling Frontier and explaining the situation, they refused to accommodate us, stating that they could not find another same-day flight for us and that we would have to also pay a cancellation fee of $99. Although many of our friends and family and even several other members aboard were able to be reimburse for their tickets with different airlines, we were stuck trying to scrap up enough money to get back home on a new flight. Not only was this emotionally draining as the situation created complete chaos aboard, it was financially draining, causing us to have to ask family to help to pay for our return home. Frontier could have done better in their attempt to accommodate us due to circumstances beyond our control. The only option we were given was to stay in Miami for two days and then fly out, only after paying the cancellation fee and paying the difference for a new flight. This too wasn't an option, as we would have had to stay on the streets of Miami, as hotels (for two days), cost. What was to be a great vacation turned into a nightmare and the airline that we hoped and prayed would be our saving grace, completely abandoned us. We are still trying to recover both emotionally from the situation that occurred aboard, and financially after having to book with another airline with money we didn't have."
Cons: "I had a quick trip planned for a hiking expedition into the Grand Canyon. The day of my flight into Las Vegas my flight was initially delayed over 3 hours, then canceled entirely. I had to buy another ticket from another carrier. On such short notice the ticket was quite expensive. Then, leaving Las Vegas my flight was also delayed, this time for over two hours. Luckily the flight still went and I was able to get home. Obviously, you pay less money to fly Frontier (although baggage fees are quite expensive) and with that I recognize the seats are less comfortable and there are less amenities, however, the delay and cancellation added a lot of stress to an already short trip. I will think twice before booking tickets with Frontier again."
Cons: "I got a notification that my 11:20AM flight from MIA to ORD is delayed for 5 minutes. Upon arrival in airport, I was told that there's a mechanical problem with the plane in ORD and that the plane hasn't left ORD (flight time 3:20). Thankfully, we had a place to stay for a day so we asked to be re-booked for the flight for the next day. Others took a refund and went to book a flight on a different airlines. Others had to wait until arrival of equipment and their plane didn't leave until 8:15PM that day (meaning they had to be in the airport for 9 hours!) I understand that the airline has limited amount of equipment and crews, but earlier notification would have been appreciated"
Cons: "Air traffic control issues kept us from leaving on time. They did a good job of catching us back up, and even though we were late, they made up time. I like the design of the plane where the seats are thinner and there is more leg room. I had quit flying Frontier because of the measuring of the carry ons, feeling like cattle being herded, etc. This was a better experience, with the exception of the carry on expense. With that and charging for every little thing, your prices are not any cheaper than any other airline."
Pros: "Flight arrived very early"
Cons: "At check in staff were trying to make me check in a bag that's a carry on size. I have carried this duffle bag as a carry on for years with various airlines. I had a normal size duffle bag ands tag at check in were being extremely pushy advising me to pay an additional $40 to check in my duffle bag. He stated if I didn't check it in now they would make me pay an additional $60. I decided to take the risk and not check it in and I had no problems with my bag at the gate. I'm not sure if this is something they do to profit more money, but it was definitely an inconvenience going back and forth with the staff about my bag."
Pros: "Crew was friendly. Was pleasantly surprised I didn't have to pay for the air we breathed."
Cons: "Must pay for everything: checked bags, carry-on (spoiler alert - carry-on is more expensive than checked bags), beverage service (water is the only complementary option), seat selection (I'm not clear what happens if you don't pay to choose a seat - do they pick one for you? Mysteriously, the rates to pick seats were higher for outbound flights than they were for the return flight). My impression was that I would have had to pay for a boarding pass if I didn't print one ahead of time. Total cost with all fees was definitely not the cheapest route - plan on at least $150 additional fees to add to your round trip ticket cost. I tried to get smart on my return, so I downloaded the Frontier app to my phone only to get a dagger-stare from TSA going through security because I had to show them my boarding pass on my phone instead of having a paper pass they could scribble on."
Pros: "lots of room for items in the overhead bins"
Cons: "I paid for a carry-on bag, but didn't pay to select my seat. My seat ended up in the very back of the plane, somehow, so had to carry my personal bag, my carry on, and my big winter coat past all the rest of the passengers, which was awkward. Since carry-on bags are so pricey, perhaps purchasing one could guarantee that you're given an open seat closer to the front of the plane, or maybe just an earlier boarding zone, so as to disturb fewer folks."
Pros: "All employees I interacted with were very friendly. Return flight arrived early."
Cons: "I thought I had found a great deal when I bought my Frontier ticket. Later, I learned they not only charge a fee to check a bag (increasingly common) but to carry on a bag. Basically, if your travels require, you know, clothes or any personal belongings, you'll be paying an additional $30-60 each way. In my case, it was an additional $70 total which means it was no longer my perceived "great deal". On the first flight, I thought I missed the beverage service..oh well. On the return flight, I realized they apparently don't even do a true beverage service because I finally had to ask an attendant for water just so I could take my medication. What else...it was an international flight and they had zero writing utensils to lend to fill out the customs forms. When I arrived at the airport for my return flight I discovered they were the only airline for which you couldn't check-in at a kiosk. This resulted in being forced to stand in the only giant line when I didn't even have a bag to check. After realizing just how cheap Frontier has become--and that it ends up costing much more, I will never fly them again."
Pros: "Flight crew was excellent. Other ticketing agents helped to ensure that we made the flight.... in spite of the uncaring one..."
Cons: "Seats are super uncomfortable and tight... First ticketing agent calls out our flight... last chance (we were starting the kiosk process) - I call out that we are Chicago flight. She rushes us to the ticketing agent at the counter (46 minutes to departure).... ticketing agent at counter says "You'll have to stand in line over there for the next flight... should've been here 45 minutes or more..." I make my case (loudly) that we ARE here in time, and that we will only be delayed because she is dragging her feet. supervisor comes over and does something; tickets spit out and we are off to run to the gate. Make it; but way out of breath; and there is still plenty of time to board the plane."
Pros: "Boarding the plane from the ground using both the front and rear doors of the plane made loading carryon luggage much better than airports that use an enclosed extended arm for only the front door. The extra leg room for sitting in an exit row with reclining capability is huge! I would be willing to pay to get an exit row all the time since the first flight was spent in a "normal" seat and the leg room is pretty bad with how many rows of non-reclining seats have been crammed into their planes."
Cons: "The open access to the planes required extra security personal constantly checking passports and boarding passes because there's the possibility of wandering over and boarding an incorrect plane."
Pros: "Not only were my fiancé and I hit with $130 in fees for baggage, the night prior we decided to upgrade our seats to row 1 for extra leg room for an additional $90. Little did we know for that price we'd be jeopardizing the ability to reclining our seats...on a red eye flight. I'm incredibly disappointed in frontier. I use to fly them frequently to/from SFO to the Midwest and the quality of service has decreased tremendously! These additional fees you tack on are taking advantage of customers and unethical. My family and I will not be flying with Frontier again."
Pros: "I enjoyed that I had an aisle seat when I chose a random seat instead of paying for one. The crew seemed nice, a little overwhelmed but I had limited interactions with them. Boarding was fine and I was relatively comfortable on the plane."
Cons: "I did not like that Frontier allowed for multiple people on the plane to yell and scream about the flight being delayed and how terrible their service was using lewd, degrading language that I felt unconfortable listening to after spending 6+ hours traveling before I even got on the plane! As a holiday traveler I am aware that there are delays and things are congested, maybe I'm the only one. I did not enjoy that I had to be subjected to that while sitting on an airplane that landed 45 minutes before even reaching gate. This continued on to the baggage claim section for another 45 minutes until finally I told the guys to shut up! The 2 men should have had security called on them or taken to another room to air their grievances instead of subjecting the rest of us to their tirade. I was extremely uncomfortable and disappointed in the way Frontier airlines at O'Hare handles disgruntled passengers and will most likely not fly Frontier again despite having a relatively enjoyable flight."
Pros: "The woman at the check in counter was nice"
Cons: "All of it. Horrible seats that are so piled on top of each other that I felt like cattle; nickel and dining us every chance you had; poor communication via email and text that the flights are delayed; HORRIBLE customer service online and via phone (I'd rather talk to Comcast than Frontier); no wifi or entertainment on the flight, which for a 2.5 HR flights is rediculous. One of the worst flight experience ever."
Pros: "Flight was at a low price and convenient."
Cons: "Mobile app was not working correctly and a ticket agent helped me purchase there at a discounted price. On the way back the ticket person didn't help at all and said she knew they were having problems with the mobile app. Said she could do nothing and quickly gave me a customer service number to call. Wow that was really effortless. If you have an app to purchase at a lower price for carry on and it is not working then have a back up plan to help you customer get what is advertised. Like it was a bait and hook. Besides that everything else was OK."
Pros: "I had no problems. Our flight arrived early."
Cons: "Too many advertisements/promotions over the PA."
Pros: "Lights turned off at night, not a lot of announcements to disturb sleeping passengers. Plane was clean. Crew seemed fine enough."
Cons: "To begin with, a three-hour delay on what was already just a four-hour flight, and no steps made to even offer snacks or discounts or other amenities to apologize for the gross delay. Very uncomfortable seats; even dead tired, I could not get much sleep. I usually use the food tray as a place to rest my head, but it was far too small to use for that. Upon landing, another 45 minutes of delay as we waited for our gate to become free, and again, no measures taken to apologize or make us as customers feel like they wanted us to feel even a little bit better about the situation. I get that it's a cheap flight option, but even so, the company needs to take more responsibility for its internal problems."
Cons: "Keep in min someone else bought my ticket. However, is was ridiculously priced. Then you have to pay for carry on bag which is ridiculous and costs more than a checked bag. On the flight there were no tvs. No big deal because I don't feel like giving them more money. However, you don't even get water or anything to drink. So I sat there suffering with a dry throat the entire time. My friend asked for a cup of ice and they wanted $2. On top of that we hoarded the plane well after we were supposed to be already in the air."
Pros: "The plane did not crash. That is the only positive aspect of the trip I could come up with."
Cons: "I paid for my checked luggage, which was expected and fine, however I was told my carry-on bag was okay but it was not. After my ticket had been scanned at the gate and I was already halfway down the gangway, a gate agent began yelling at me to come back. The other passengers looked at me like I was a criminal or something and it was quite humiliating. The agent said (rather rudely) that I had to pay an additional $40 for my carry-on. I explained that I was told the bag was fine when I was at the ticket counter but they did not care. They further informed me that I was paying $10 more for my bag than I would have at the ticket counter, leaving me feeling scammed. I emailed the company immediately upon arrival, explained the situation, and asked for a refund of the carry-on fee given the unusual circumstances. I was flatly refused. Horrible experience, horrible employees, horrible customer service, horrible airline. Their ticket prices might be low, but that only seems to be to lure customers in so they can be tricked and swindled for more money. I paid more for my bags than I did for my ticket!! This company seems to operate on a "bait and switch" business model and through some research I did on them following this experience I found they already have compliants against them to the Better Business Bureau. AVOID THIS AIRLINE AT ALL COSTS!!!"
Pros: "The airline crew was fine. The flight itself was fine."
Cons: "During an extended delay, Frontier airport staff neglected to communicate with the planeful (approx 200) passengers waiting to board our flight from Denver to Chicago. Although the flight time was changed several times, no accurate information was given to the waiting passengers. We were only told we did not have a crew, and if a crew was not found, the flight would be cancelled. The Frontier staff did not seem to care whatsoever about the effect of the extended delay on the passengers, or the very possible cancellation of the flight. In the end, the flight boarded about 2 1/2 hours late, and arrived 3 hours after its initial scheduled arrival time."
Cons: "Gate was changed numerous times. Flight attendant was rude about baggage saying it doesn't fit in the overhead bin and told me to get up out of my window seat faster as if I could control the pace of the two people sitting next to me. She didn't even try to help make the luggage fit. All I did was push it in an inch further and it closed. Very unprofessional and rude. We sat on the plane for over an hour after take off time because they lost the luggage. I only flew with frontier because I thought the flight was going to be cheaper. Adding the price of a seat both ways and a bag both ways made it more expensive than a flight without all that extra stress and work and definitely without all these problems. Will not be flying with frontier ever again."
Cons: "The highway to the airport in Phoenix was shut down due to a murder on the highway. I took an alternate route. Then the construction at the airport and the signage was terrible. I stood in line curbside to check my bag at what I thought was frontier but it was delta. By the time I got to the frontier desk, they closed the flight. They said they could get me on the flight but not my bag. My bag had my sales materials in it. It had to go with me. I ended up on a United Flight. Cancelled Frontier and they charged me 99.00 to cancel!!! And I had trip protection but it does not cover incidents like this! UGH! It was my first experience with Frontier. I did not know they were fee heavy. I will not fly them again."
Cons: "The flight was fine but it was delayed at the last minute which was annoying. There was no communication by gate staff about what was going on and that was frustrating and confusing. I liked receiving updates via email, but the human touch would have been nice too. The gate staff seemed very overwhelmed by the situation and I don't think she handled it well. I heard that meal vouchers were being distributed but I didn't learn this until we were getting ready to board the flight so I didn't receive a voucher and I didn't get dinner."
Pros: "Newer jet, clean, smooth flight"
Cons: "Two of the three flight attendants were a little obnoxious. Before we took off, the female African American attendant openly said that people weren't listening to her about stowing carry on bags and said "this is like dealing with a bunch of 2-yr olds" uncalled for in my opinion. The only male attendant was insincere on his announcements and it's the first time I've ever flown (hundreds before) where on two occasions he asked for people to clean up after themselves. Also the lines at the sole checkin desk in Seattle was too long. Should have had more than one person checking people in. I'd not recommend this airline if I was asked today what my opinion was."
Pros: "The actual flight itself was smooth and as expected."
Cons: "Everything else but the actual on air time itself was awful. At ORD the lines were short/fast but the agent was a little rude, it was my first time flying Frontier so I just had a few questions and she made me feel like I was annoying her or wasting her time. At the gate the boarding process was as expected, except I think the gate agent could have done a bit better crowd control, it was really cumbersome to get across the multitudes of people with unassigned seats or later zones that were clogging up the entrance just standing there. The flight was smooth. Upon arrival at PHX luggage took upwards of 30+ minutes to arrive and some passengers had to wait much longer. My luggage arrived damaged. I filed a report at the Frontier desk but their response was to ask me to leave my broken luggage there, take my items in clear trash bag and wait for a voucher. How am I supposed to take my items to a hotel for business meetings in a trash bag? That's not an acceptable solution to a problem I did not create, baggage handlers did it. When I got to the hotel I realized that the items I had on the front pocket of my luggage were tampered with and one item was missing. I was told I could go spend the money to replace my luggage and bring them back the receipt, and then leave them the broken luggage cause and I quote "you can't have it all". What does that even mean? I can't have MY luggage? That I brought in perfect condition and the baggage handler broke? Come on. They did not explain if they would offer a refund immediately upon receiving my receipt, it was all very rushed and vague and I was going to miss my transport so I had to leave. They did not give me a claim number or a number to call back at. Nothing. I wasn't even being rude or loud or annoyed like some customers get when these things arise. I understood perfectly that it was an accident and these things happen, but I still deserved a proper response and decent treatment, since I just paid $45 for a checked bag only to have it be broken. On the day of my departure from PHX I arrived at the airport on time, 2 hours and 15 minutes earlier from my departure. I stood in line at Frontier for an entire hour to check in my luggage even though I had checked in online and already paid my fee. I asked if there was a place for people who already were checked in and a rude airport staff member told me to just "get back in line". After waiting in line for that long suddenly the desk agent yells to all the passangers from a flight to Denver to move up to the front of the line, so about 100 or more people move ahead of me despite the vast majority of them having arrived late. I understand their flight was leaving earlier but what about our flight? How is it reasonable or fair to reward people for being late and make people who have been dutifully and calmly waiting in line FOR AN HOUR standing with heavy bags wait even longer? The whole thing was just terrible!"
Pros: "The only person who seemed to like his job was the gentleman checking in our bag (which unfortunately costs 40 dollars instead of the expected 30. Difference being we didnt check in online)...."
Cons: "..... EVERYONE else, though, were debbie downers - no smile, no happy attitude, no good signs of a positive trip. Asked one of the flight attendants for water so my significant other could take her prescription pills and she nodded her head in a way that it was too much trouble for her to do. Oh, and we never seen that water. Besides that, a child behind my other's seat constantly kicked the tray up and down attached to it, which made it IMPOSSIBLE to get any sleep. Granted, this is probably a parenting issue, its staff responsibility to recognize issues and at least try to resolve them. They charge per general/economy seating making the ticket price untrue in value so expect to pay a MINIMUM 20 dollars more than you bargained for. Also, as every other airline I have flown with included a free carry on bag during travel, fronteir did not - they choose to charge their customers more for a carry on than the 50 pound checked in bag. Better to go with AA or Delta or United, etc. Pay the extra dollar because in the end your actaullt saving in comparison to Frontier. Something is just totally off about this airline in general and I WILL NEVER fly with them again"
Pros: "cheap flight, but they make up for it with secret fees for your seat and baggage"
Cons: "Our flight kept getting delayed. We would get a text message every 30 minutes or so to update us that the flight would be pushed back even further."
Cons: "The flight price looked great and like I was saving money, I was very wrong. By the time that I was charged to select my seat, pay for my one bag, and pay for a soda on the flight, I could have flown a different airline and saved money. The flight was delayed both ways. The way home was even worse. It was delayed 4 hours because of three different issues and we had to change plans. The crew was extremely rude to people who were inquiring about the delays. I will never, ever fly this airline again..."
Cons: "they give you one of the lowest fares around, then they Charge you extra for carry on bag, extra cost for checked baggage, and they do not participate in the TSA Pre check or Global Entry programs. so over all, Also, the redesigned seats are very minimalistic and uncomfortable, and the tray tables are half the normal size. i would have been better off taking a more expensive flight that included all these things . overall cost would have only been about 20 dollars more, and baggage would have been free, and i would have been able to use my Pre Check status and avoided the long Security lines. and to add insult to injury , flights both ways were delayed by at least 45 minutes each"
Pros: "Getting off the plane."
Cons: "For starters, we scanned our tickets at one gate and boarded at another. First time I've ever seen that. There weren't enough Gate Agents to manage things so I waited in line for 40 minutes to pay your ridiculous $60 carry on fee. By the time someone was able to help me, my boarding group had already boarded. I ended up paying the fee and was forced to gate check my bag anyway as all the overhead space was taken up by the time I got on the plane. Nice work on your end milking that $60 from me. Since I wasn't able to check in ahead of time, I was stuck in the middle seat (I'm 6'5"). I would have happily paid an extra $250 to not sit in the middle, but thats besides the point. Just as I'm about to close my eyes, your stewardess gets on the PA and starts hawking Frontier credit cards for 20 minutes. If that wasnt bad enough, she had the audacity to shove an application in my face and remind me 'its the best credit card in the industry!' The credit card pitch and "buy 3 get 1 free' happy hour offers made the flight feel more like a sad Panama City spring break than a return flight after a long business trip. Alas! We landed at ORD 'on-time' which is always good for Frontier's stats. Unfortunately, we sat on the tarmac for 30+ minutes waiting for someone to man the sky bridge. Oh, and it was a nice touch deplaning in the international terminal returning from a Kansas City flight. Long story short, Frontier is now in the same category for me as Spirit Airlines. You fooled me once, but you wont fool me again. I'm just glad it was a one-way ticket. PS: when did airlines start soliciting tips for the flight crew? In all my years of traveling, I have never seen that before. Embarrassing."
Pros: "Nothing except the flight attendants tried to be pleasant"
Cons: "On a Friday night the flight was over 4 hours late. There was nobody at the gate the entire time and no notifications on the board we had to find it by calling customer service or notifications on our phone that were confusing. No apologies or explanations were ever offered. No refunds and to add insult to injury when we finally got on the flight they still insisted on charging for a soda. The seats are barely better than sitting on a bus, hard plastic with minimal cushion they are narrow but the leg room is adequate. They took away an entire day literally noon to 9 pm from everyone just wanting to get home or a get away weekend in Chicago and offered nothing, in 2 hours they could have sent another plane from the hub in Denver but felt it was better to ignore probably 150 customers for 6 hours. they could have rescheduled the flight for a later time allowing people to leave the airport and come back or given people food vouchers none of which they did. They could've done a lot of things but chose to be a low-cost airline which they must have felt somehow validated poor customer service."
Cons: "Our flight was scheduled to leave at 4:15, their was another flight at the same gate scheduled to leave at 3:45. It was unsurprisingly not enough time to board the flight before. While in that extra time of waiting for our plane to come to the gate after the flight before took off a hail storm hit. Had we been on time we would have avoided the storm. We also taxied in Chicago for over 20 minutes waiting for our gate. I ended up missing two of my buses to my final destination which was very frustrating."
Pros: "I like that they got me from one place to another."
Cons: "They have new pre-reclined seats that basically hit curve in the middle. These are either made for a specific height or weren't tested. They make it so you have to sit hunched back the whole flight (I'm 5 10). If you have good posture, this airline is not for you."
Cons: "It all started when I asked this flight attendant if he could remove this piece of gum from the seat back in front of me. He snapped at me and told me he was busy and he would do something about it once we were airborne. He then proceeded to laugh and yuk it up with another flight attendant for 5 minutes. So I rang the call button again thinking maybe another flight attendant might come check on me nope same guy. He walked up to me like it was our first interaction and said "is there something I can help you with?" I politely asked him again to remove the piece of gum from the seat. That's when it got crazy he started yelling at me saying if I wanted he would get the gate attendant and have me taken off the plane!! That's when another passenger got up and told the flight attendant to do his job and that he was acting way out of line. He huffed off and still refused to remove the disgusting and very unsanitary piece of gum from the seat back. By this time another flight attendant came running from the back of the plan asking what was wrong? When I told her she was overly apologetic and took care of it immediately. That flight attendant should be fired as he is dangerous and his attitude towards paying customers was disgusting!! Well the last thing I will say is now I know why I fly southwest."
Cons: "I arrived later than anticipated, flight was delayed and was late for a work meeting"
Cons: "Seriously, it was a horrible experience. Everyone complains that they're misleading with the cost, but it really just adds up to what you pay on other lines, maybe slightly less still. BUT, so not worth it. Spend the extra money elsewhere. Terrible customer service. Seriously, there were 3 people that were nice, everyone else was flat out rude. Both on the phone and in person. And I was nice to them even though I was really upset, which was hard to do. Our first flight was delayed 8 hours for maintenance. We got a $10 food voucher and a $100 flight voucher. Not the best compensation considering the duration of our time in the airport and the cost of food, plus the fact that our flight was more than $100. We couldn't use the flight voucher on our return flight because it was already booked (even though a supervisor prior to that said we could), so that was worthless since I have no interest in flying with them ever again. I found out later that the flight voucher can at least be used for baggage and seat selection on the return flight, which no one mentioned even when I specifically asked multiple people (including a different supervisor) what it could be used for. But that didn't help me out either since... the flight back was flat out cancelled 40 mins before it was due to leave because they didn't have a crew to fly it due to weather issues elsewhere. The next flight they could get us on was two days later or 2 weeks later... We got a refund, but of course since it was such short notice then booking on another airline was far more expensive and they don't make up the difference. It seemed like Frontier runs things so tight that they don't have any backup plans for what I would assume are not wholly uncommon things, like maintenance and weather issues. And, as other people have pointed out, they were the tiniest seats I have ever seen. All I could think once we got on the plane was, "Thank God I'm not fatter or taller and thank God we weren't stuck on the plane itself!""
Pros: "The entire experience was horrific."
Cons: "Flight was delayed by 4 hours. Reason being there was no crew due to the reason there was a snowstorm in Denver. Second, there was afamily ask for sitting in front of. The kids were out of control the parents nor the flight attendant said anything. The kids were banging on the armrest and the table. BirdTo you, I say you have won over the heart of my best friend. You have won over my heart, and the hearts of all of her friends and family. We’re giving her away to you, know that you’re marrying one of the most wonderful women in the entire world. May you cherish her, the way we all have. May you love her the way we all have. May you overcome any challenges your future faces. To you, I say thank you. Thank you, for making my best friend’s dreams a reality. Thank you for giving her the fairy tale she so very much deserves.Third , the turbulence was horrific!"
Pros: "I'm typically on the Thursday flight from SFO to ORD. For the most part the flight has departed on time and arrived into Chicago early or ahead of scheduled arrival. The seats and space is comfortable. The price is also very competitive over all. The planes have generally been clean. I like the early flight time from SFO and option to arrive into ORD at a reasonable hour."
Cons: "Flight crew is generally rude, and unfriendly. You can notice the difference in professionalism between the flight crew on American Air or Virgin than Frontier. The take off/and landing is not the smoothest, and the navigation through turbulence is poor. The customer service agents at the airports have been rude. I was in the airport security line for over an hour. I had asked an Customer Service rep for help that was walking by to avoid missing my flight. The person ignored me and continued walking. The service charge for carry on is not favorable. I dislike arriving early into Chicago and having to wait on the run way for over 15-20 min before we can get to a gate. Defeats the early arrival."
Cons: "Was not informed of the extra charges for carry on baggage. No food or even snacks included in the trip...not even the basic things like water, blankets and earphones. This was not made clear or indicated in the ticket when I bought it. Would have never bought the ticket if I knew that was not the real and total price. On top of that ... there are no checks in place to make sure that all the passengers had paid for the carry on. I paid but I will dispute the charge and get it back based on the aiirlines' inconsistent practice regarding that. The policy is not enforced on everyone."
Pros: "The assistant pilot had a nice dad bod. The male attendant was very nice. There were a lot of babies and animals on the flight. I loved it."
Cons: "The crew seemed untrustworthy. The lady flight attendant had too many pins and didn't not have a uniform."
Pros: "On time."
Cons: "The plane was a little run down in terms of cleanliness. The pilot didn't announce things. For instance we were on the tarmac for a while to get to the gate upon landing and he never announced the amount of time it would take...to the point where passengers verbally questioned the attendants, "How long does this plane take to get to the gate?""
Cons: "You have to check in an hour before ur flight or else ur flight gets cancelled."
Pros: "on time"
Cons: "low comfort seats"
Pros: "One front desk attendant tried to be helpful"
Cons: "I was unable to board because my boarding pass wasn’t showing up while checking in online beforehand. Trying to explain this was useless. And I was told it was too late. Although in reality there was plenty of time. I spent the rest of my time talking to a different person whos solution was for me to take a bus to NYC from Boston and catch a flight 8 hours later; at least she tried. If they had just printed a boarding pass initially, I would have already been through security with time to spare. I just flew with United instead. I will never fly with Spirit again if I can avoid it. It’s the absolute worst. Satan must be on their board of directors."
Pros: "Crew was great."
Cons: "We had a mechanical issue which delayed the flight by 30-45 minutes. That wasn't so bad but the whole strategy that Spirit employs is sketchy. We booked our flight through Kayak at a set price and then when we checked in with Spirit online there were no seats available that we didn't have to pay an upgrade fee. To me that is fals marketing or even bait and switch. Won't be flying with them again."
Cons: "My flight was delayed twice to Boston and I had an appointment to keep. I called the Spirit customer service line repeatedly to ask about travel options and discuss my dilemma. Unfortunately, it seems that phone line is entirely automated. I could not find a human to answer my questions. I finally booked a flight with another airline that was set to arrive in Boston prior to my Spirit flight. I planned to take my return flight home to Chicago, but was informed through email that I had been removed from the flight. I was very upset to learn that my round trip was cancelled by Spirit since I did not take the departure leg of the trip due to all the delays and my time constraints. If I was able to speak to a customer service representative when I repeatedly called for answers, I may have learned of this policy. I was told I could repurchase my flight home for $150, which was too much for me to spend. I am very disappointed that Spirit's budget nature even extends to poor customer service and lack of real humans to provide information during stressful travel situations. Since Spirit has done nothing to make me want to use this airline again, I will be seeking other carriers for my future travel needs."
Cons: "Delayed two hours without any notice, and changes $50+ for a carry on."
Pros: "Arrived early"
Cons: "Plane was dirty"
Pros: "Reasonable fares friendly staff"
Cons: "Try to charge my daughter an outrageous amount to check in her luggage, ended up having to leave her luggage and have it shipped. Claim a pocket book is a carry on. No other airline does this. We save on the flight but then ends up the same or more with baggage."
Cons: "The lack of comfort, the idea of paying for food,I thought it was extremely tacky to promote a card on flight."
Pros: "I was most impressed with how well the flight attendants handled the situation of a screaming baby whose diaper needed changing. One attendant politely and amiably told the father (who was traveling alone with two small children) about the changing table in the bathroom and assisted him in retrieving his bag and getting to the bathroom with the two children. Another attendant came by with air freshener while the family was in the bathroom, as the area where they had been sitting had started to smell. Overall, the crew was very professional and friendly, managing to improve the situation smoothly and without making anyone feel badly."
Pros: "Price, but know what to expect."
Cons: "Spirit charges even for water."
Cons: "Not worth the hassle. After paying for bags and seats it costs more than a good airline. Cancelled my flight and basically offered no assistance. They blamed 'weather' because of thunderstorms. No reason not to wait out a thunderstorm. Requested a refund and still don't have my money back."
Cons: "Once I saw the criminal amount of extra money this sham airline charges for every possible thing they can think of. Don't be fooled by the so called cheaper rates, just picking a seat will jack the price up above any other airline."
Cons: "Flight way overbooked. Got bumped (said "voluntary" to get the best of two poor offers of compensation)."
Pros: "Crew was nice."
Cons: "$182 in fees round trip once Spirit charged me extra for (1) carry-on and (1) checked bag."
Pros: "Everything was good enough today. Only a brief delay. Sure beat the much longer delay experienced on our way to Boston earlier this week."
Cons: "The flight attendants promoted signing up for the Spirit credit card during the last few minutes of the flight but didn't have any pens for us to use. But I wouldn't have signed up anyway after reading the conditions, such as expiring miles and limited award seats available on flights. That's OLD SCHOOL. I have a card through a bank where the miles never expire, there aren't any blackouts, and I can use the miles on any flight any airline at any time even if 100 other people ahead of me are using their mileage. HOW? The miles I receive convert to dollar amounts which purchase tickets."
Cons: "most uncomfortable seats EVER. No place to sit waiting to board. Will never fly Spirit again."
Cons: "Flight was delayed. No attendants around to announce what was occurring. Passengers standing around asking questions but no one at kiosk. Monitor said flight was on time but clearly was not."
Cons: "My flight was cancelled less than 2 hours before the departure. I was told this at the airline counter. I took 7 o'clock AMTRAK to go Chicago and then took Blue line (45 minutes) to get to O'Hara airport. The girl at the counter did not explain why the airplane was cancelled. She offered a flight next day at the same time. My poster presentation was at 8:30AM next day. There was no alternative flight from Chicago to Boston. I just cannot believe this. I totally missed my conference presentation. BAD!"
Cons: "Cheap flight but they get you on bags. $55 for a carryon!!!, really?!!! If if your checked bag is over 40 lbs. You pay Ann extra $30. We paid $350 four the flight for 2 to boston round trip. We ended up paying $310 In extra luggage fees."
Pros: "Boarding was fairly quick, but it was a smaller plane than many."
Cons: "Given the fees for luggage in both directions, I'm not sure there would be much, if any, savings round trip compared to other airlines, and that's without any of free beverage/snack/entertainment."
Pros: "It went where I needed to go"
Cons: "There is almost nothing that would make me use this airline again. My flight wasn't even cheap, so that definitely didn't make up for the fact that I paid $50 both ways for my carry on bag, and one $30 seat fee so that I could request a window seat on a cross-country red eye. Water is not free on the plane, and still there were no seat back pockets, so the water bottle I bought (and didn't want in my bag w/ important documents) rolled around on the floor all night. I'm a small woman, and there was barely space for me to fit in the seat. Uncomfortable, expensive."
Cons: "Didn't realize that bag would cost $50 and that there was not even water available for free. Most uncomfortable flight ever."
Pros: "spirit airlines had the cheapest airfare at the time that we booked our trip. the kiosk check-in was smooth."
Cons: "we got hungry because of a flight delay so had to purchase in-flight food. the food is overpriced and frankly very disappointing. We splurged for 2 drinks and a snack box that claimed to have a cheese spread - in fact it was more like a dip (liquidy). the crackers almonds were good but the other items were just junk. we have ordered similar boxes on other airlines and got much better bang for our buck. I also think that a complementary beverage service would be nice. We all know that corn syrup is extremely cheap so I don't buy into their ad campaign about how not giving free soda service results in lower fares."
Cons: "55.00 fee for carry on luggage 50.00 fee for each checked bag I understand that it was a cheap flight, but they make up for that cost with all the fees! Plus there is no inservice drinks...everything is for purchase only. No cash, only credit used. Both my flights were delayed. The first one only and hour. The second over two hours. Crew on both were unprofessional and unkept. They were all wearing different color uniforms, I never knew if it was a flight attendant or a passenger. I would skip this airline in the future and just pay the extra with a better know airline. You will be paying extra in fees anyway, by going with this company. Oh and if you don't pay the 55.00 for your carry on at time of check in--they will charge you 100.00 at the gate. Terrible!"
Pros: "Quick check-in and short lines for security"
Cons: "No free water? Really? Things spirit can't do anything about: noisy crying children, loud talking, etc. disrespectful travelers"
Cons: "Never fails to be horrible. Had to wait on plane for 30 min to be fielded. -after landing in Chicago had to sit on plane for 30 min because there was no gate."
Pros: "Good service"
Cons: "Everything was good."
Pros: "The only good thing was the cheap airfare, but with all the other charges you end up paying the same amount for a better airline."
Cons: "Steep prices for carry ons ($100 RT), no free bevs even water!"
Cons: "The flight was cancelled due to the plane being stuck in another city due to weather. I've had this happen before with other airlines, and they were able to rebook me on another airline's flight, with no price difference. With Spirit, they only were able to refund my money or move me to another date, four days later, which would have caused me to miss the event I was supposed to attend over the weekend. I thought since I was flying solo, without my kids in tow, using a cut-rate airline would have worked out. I've had no problems with JetBlue or SW in the past. But I would stay away from using Spirit."
Cons: "Did not like the customer service that we received the day before our travel booked flight may 30,2016 paid with credit card call spirt day before with question on luggage receive confirmation 2 days before agent informed us that we did not have an outbound flight she did not know how it was removed spent 2 hours with supervisor whom finally regained the flight I originally booked and all he could do was apologized for my inconvenience. We are very upset and probably will never fly SPIRIT AGAIN nor recommend you to our friends and familly"
Pros: "NOTHING POSITIVE!"
Cons: "They chose to cancel the return flight within 2 hours of the scheduled departure and were not at all helpful trying to get anyone out on any other airlines (because they're next available flight to that destination was 4 days out...) Not to mention on the initial flight to my destination, they had everyone board the plane 40 minutes early and then told everyone they had to all evacuate the plane and delayed the flight for 4 hours for NO reason!!!!! I would highly recommend avoiding flying spirit airlines at all cost, what I thought was a decent deal ended costing me an extra $400 for my last minute one-way trip and adding many many hours to my time traveling......"
Cons: "The customer service agent over the phone had told me "you are allowed one carry one and one checked bag." So I get to the flight desk and turns out I was allowed one checked bag, however I had to pay $52 for it. On top of that our flight was late and the workers at the boarding site was extremely rude. The overall experience was absolutely horrible."
Cons: "Both my round trip flight from Boston to Chicago were canceled due to weather. I wasn't given any warning. The most I got was an email that said "your flight may have been canceled" after the time of when the flight was supposed to leave. I waited in lines for hours to get refunds. I didn't have time to wait a second hour and ended up buying a new flight with American. There were not enough employees to deal with the line of people waiting. We had to wait for two different groups of people flying to other cities to process their baggage. I left the line after an hour or else I would have missed my flight. They gave me a number to call in order to get a refund and this call has taken me about an hour and a lot of explaining, even though a refund was promised. It's too much to deal with. I won't fly with spirit again."
Cons: "My return flight is cancelled and I realized that exactly at the time of getting boarding pass and it cause me 12 hours delay to teach my destination as I looked for alternative flight from another airlines ....All in all it's an awful service and awful trip simply I choose Spririt airlines.Charging luggage fee is another worst thing that I realized!!"
Cons: "You have to pay extra for everything... Your seat, baggage, snacks. No leg room, and you can't lean your seat back to get semi-comfortable. Never taking a spirit flight again."
Cons: "$55 for a carry on bag is ridiculous, charging at all for a carry on bag is ridiculous"
Cons: "There was a delay that was not announced at the gate"
Pros: "The seats had plenty of room and thencrew"
Pros: "More comfortable than I expected"
Cons: "Fees are too complicated"
Cons: "Long delays. Poor explanation. No ground crew to ask questions to for hours. Ground crew that arrived was surly. No offer of even a soft drink to make up for one hour sitting on Tarmac after more than one hour delay or more at terminal."
Pros: "The flight was on time."
Cons: "Spirit airlines has a lot of hidden costs. You think you're getting an inexpensive flight and then you get charged for EVERYTHING."
Pros: "Tickets availability on a short notice"
Cons: "The price was not cheap- and I had to pay extra for carry on, for window seat and no free water, coffee or non-alcohol drinks is really, really bad There were no sighs throughout Boston airport for SPIRIT"
Cons: "I flied from Boston to Portland with a transit in Chicago. The whole flight experience was HORRIBLE. I am a frequent domestic and international flyer over 25 years and had never seen any service worse than Spirit. Fees- unexpected fees one after another. No water offered. Need to buy water even needed for your medicine. By the time all fees were added up, you ended up paying much more. Don't try it unless you are a backpack traveler. Rude flight attendant- on my flight from Boston to Chicago, I observed two passengers were rudely treated. One large-size female flight attendant, instead of waiting a aged-female passenger to be seated, she pushed her into her seat to make her way through the aisle. My 13 year old was stunned and said "she shouldn't have done that." Another woman went to bathroom before flight took off . She was told to come back to the seat. The plane was not moved for a few minutes and the flight captain announced the plane had some mechanic issue and needed to be fixed; he explained he didn't know how long it would take as it wasn't under his control. The female passenger then asked again whether she could go to bathroom. The same flight attendant told her NO."
Pros: "Not much that I liked. The one and only thing I liked was the view I had outside the window."
Cons: "What should I start with. They wouldn't let me check in online and told me to call a representative but I never got one. Then I had to check in using their kiosk thing which charged me 10$! They have so many little fees that you honestly don't save much money using them. The plane is cramped and small. The crew was pretty rude and not very friendly and I would not use this airline ever again"
Cons: "The flight to Chicago was fine, but getting home was another story. After delaying the flight about 1.5 hours the flight was cancelled. No real reason was given and no other airlines were canceling flights. When I called to get on the next flight, they said the earliest they could get me home to Boston was in 2 days. Everyone was frantically trying to rebook and the other airlines were selling out. Long story short, I ended up paying $270 for a flight to Providence via Charlotte on American Airline. My husband then drove the hour to Providence to pick me up. All in all....I am all set with Spirit Airlines."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "hidden charges, lack of good customer service at the airport. Its just a horrible airline which need either to be closed or sold to a another major airline"
Pros: "Flights were on time"
Cons: "All the extra charges for carry-on luggage, seat selection etc. Will never use this airline again"
Cons: "The seat doesn't recline and it can be a very uncomfortable flight."
