Cons: "6 hour delay."
Pros: "The inflight crew was absolutely incredible. They were funny and helpful especially as our situation was incredibly bad."
Cons: "After waiting almost an extra hour plus for a delay, the boarding process was complete chaos. Not to the fault of the crew at LaGuardia, but just based on the annoyance and impatience of the passengers waiting to board. Once on the plane, our row was the only one with broken TVs. Unfortunately for my husband and myself, we were flying with two toddlers with whom we had solely expected to entertain with the TV."
Pros: "The flight was not completely full, so there was extra room."
Cons: "The choice of movies was poor. There were no charging stations for electronic equipment. The announcements kept on interrupting the shows. The crew did the bare minimum."
Pros: "The personnel were courteous and listen to your request ,the flight was exceptional.."
Cons: "No comments at this time."
Pros: "JetBlue voluntarily offered a credit for a <5 hr delay (minimum time that it is required). It was 4 hours and they didn’t HAVE to offer a credit but they did. Also they kept us informed throughout the delay, and boarded the redirected plane quickly when it did arrive."
Cons: "Didn’t appreciate the delay of 4 hours particularly during the holidays, but did appreciate how JetBlue stepped up in this situation."
Pros: "Courteous service by attendants- ongoing communications by the pilot- efficient boarding/deplaning"
Cons: "The entertainment system wasn’t available for part of the time-One of the featured movies was not available (got a black screen with no notification)- Attendant clarified what was happening-"
Cons: "Landed half hours early and had to sit on the plane until there was an open gate. Really?????! Punished for being early! Give me a break"
Pros: "Natalie was not pleasant I asked a question and she ignored my questions"
Cons: "I aske Natalie if there were any sit available so that my husband and I can sit together she quickly responded with out looking in the computer"
Pros: "Great service. Also loved the size of the seats and the leg room that I had."
Pros: "Free unlimited snacks! Lots of leg room"
Cons: "No safety video. Airport terminal was very small and stuffy. Security line was long"
Pros: "Boarding was a bit delayed in the beginning but back on time very quickly, seat comfort and legroom was great. Loved that I got a full sized can of soda, that's always fantastic and snacks were fine."
Cons: "My Seat 23D had a defective TV, so it was flashing on and off constantly throughout the whole flight, usually I don't have an issue with the entertainment because I like to sleep during flights, but due to some turbulence I was awake for part of the flight. Unfortunately with the flashing TV it gave me pretty bad nausea to the point of wanting to vomit, this is the first time I've experienced anything like this on a plane, was definitely looking forward to landing so I didn't have this nauseating feeling anymore. I have a video of the issue if anyone at Jetblue was interested in seeing. It was flight 499 from LGA to Orlando on 9-16-18. Thanks."
Pros: "Great flight with early departure; not crowded"
Cons: "Longer flight than normal due to Florence"
Pros: "Even with a delay it was nice"
Cons: "Nothing to say here"
Cons: "I believed that animals should not travel with people I had to switch seat with someone because I m extremely allergic to cats. So I had to seat in the back of plane to avoid a health problem. I think if people have the need to take their pets with them they should have a designated area. Not everyone love or like animals. Thank you"
Pros: "Nothing really."
Cons: "1. Forced to check carry on because of a pocket in the front when other passengers were allowed to bring actual suitcases which were taken right before boarding. Apparently JetBlue has a quota to meet as to how many people they charge for carry on luggage. 2. Refused to allow me to request my seat ahead of time to try and charge a $50 fee for an upgraded seat, even though by purchasing a ticket, I am guaranteed a seat on the plane. 3. Late once again. So far every flight taken by JetBlue this year has been late. My only on time flight this year has been with Delta. I do believe they are the new Spirit Airlines in disguise. This airline has been moved to the bottom of my list. I may take them once more but it depends on how many points I have with them, if it's enough to cover a free trip. If it doesn't, I will forfeit as the aggravation and nasty behaviour at the check in counter especially at LaGuardia is too much to take. They are also every discriminatory at that airport also, especially the people who work at JetBlue. I have to take responsibility for keep trying. It the same as beating a dead horse and expecting it to get up and run."
Pros: "Friendly crew and fast flight."
Cons: "No reclining seats"
Pros: "Crew was pleasant. Girl over the intercom was very clear!"
Cons: "Delayed. Supposed to land in Tampa at 11:25pm we landed at 12:50am plane looked old and run down"
Pros: "Seating is spacious, food was okay, entertainment was sufficient but not the best. Overall I was impressed with Jet Blue and will most likely fly with them again in future."
Cons: "Didn't like a huge argument taking place between one family which held the flight up by at least 30 minutes. The crew were very patient with this family, but the passengers were not. I think the family should have been removed and asked to take another flight so that my flight could leave on time. It made everyone very nervous because we didn't know to what extent this conflict would escalate, so we had to sit listening to 3 or 4 members of the family arguing and constantly removing passports from luggage and going back and forth in and out of the plane. One member of this family actually entered the cockpit, which unnerved me because of the risks with terrorists these days. The family appeared to be of muslim descent."
Pros: "Seems like spacing between the seats is greater on JetBlue than with some other airlines. Really like that."
Cons: "The boarding was a shitshow because nothing was done to prevent people from taking all of the overhead compartment room, so by the time my group boarded, there was no room. But, people were still trying and so that backed the line way up from 1/2 way into the plane all the way out the plane and IN SPITE OF MY REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO GET THE FLIGHT CREW TO ASSIST AND CLEAN UP THIS PILE OF HUMANITY, THEY DID NOTHING!!! They forced me to gate checked my carry on bag (no checked bag) and did not tell me I would not get it back AT the plane and had to go out through security to get it at the baggage claim and come back in through security and because of that incompetence I MISSED MY CONNECTION AND WAS STRANDED IN FLL OVERNIGHT. After the front desk continuously trying to explain to me how it was my fault some how, I HAD TO PURCHASE A SEPARATE TICKET ON A DIFFERENT AIRLINE OUT OF MIA AT 5AM TO MAKE THE WEDDING!!!! This is beyond unacceptable and as someone that travels for work and stays roughly 100 nights a year in hotels, I WILL NEVER ALLOW YOUR COMPANY TO BE ABLE TO PUT ME IN THIS SITUATION AGAIN!!!!"
Pros: "Crew couldn't be nicer. A pleasant experience. Thank you."
Pros: "Lots of legroom in the exit row"
Cons: "Flight delayed"
Pros: "Crew was exceptional"
Cons: "The flight was originally scheduled to leave Boston at 8:50 pm and I would get back to Tampa, FL at 12:03 am. I still had to drive an hour to get back to Sarasota which meant I would get home by 1:03 am. I figured that would still give me enough time to sleep before getting to work. Unfortunately, the flight was delayed and I didn't leave Boston until 10:30 pm and I got into Tampa around 2:10 am. I'm not happy that I got home at such a late hour since I had to be at work by 9 am."
Pros: "Well trained flight attendant crew."
Pros: "I like the fact that Jetblue handled the on boarding ot the passengers fast and efficiently starting with preferred riders, then going from the rear of the plane and moving forward. They also realized the plane was full so offered customers the free option of checking a bag in cargo. I would have preferred if they advised customers before checking through security of this option as I would have taken it rather than discard with some bottled products. The entertainment video was great on board, they offered free beverages and snacks. The crew moved through the aisle fast and efficiently when dispersing the food, and again when collect the refuse. While we had a little turbulence, the flight was uneventful and the pilot handled the landing very well. Departing the plane was also fast and efficient, although takes time because the plane was full. Overall, I was impressed with JetBlue, and their flight team."
Cons: "I thought that although comfortable, the chairs and fabric were obviously well worn and definitely needed upgrading. I also noticed that the chair head area didn't have a removable sanitary cover, which I thought should be there considering the number and frequency of change overs per seat on these flights. This is necessary to promote sanitary and comfortable conditions."
Pros: "The best part of this trip was checking in.. it was a breeze.. I must say the Orlando landing was the best touchdown I've ever experienced..Smooth.."
Cons: "Let's start with getting on the airplane was like herding sheep.. When I finally got to my seat someone was in it.. And I had no place to put my carry on.. The flight was suppose to leave 9:00pm.. we didn't leave til 9:40.. The safety announcement was awful. We cudnt hear most of it.. The turbulence was scary and the noise made me put on headphones to sleep. Once it landed in Orlando the airplane traveled around the entire airport .. It took forever to get off the plane but I was so happy to get off"
Cons: "Entertainment (TV) did not work on the entire flight in numerous seats, even after rebooting the system."
Pros: "We were returning Home from N, J, we left Florida because of IRMA The hardest part was while booking the flight from Newark to Tampa. At a reasonable rate. We were price gouged going North by another airline, Awful We are both over 80 years old. I had to call on the phone waited about 10 minutes on hold but when I did get someone they helped me pay over the phone and order wheelchairs. Smooth flight. We had to flee Florida we could not fly jet Blue on short notice. to N.J. Flew other Airline and were really displeased."
Cons: "Not being able to pay for luggage and order wheelchair online with the first try. Weare both over 80 years old. Most difficult Had to call on the phone twice. Waited for 10 or more minutes. Our flight was delayed from 6:59 to about 9 P.M. We did get 2 text nice. But was told to come on in any. So we did and waited at airport for flight to leave at 9:15"
Pros: "Great non stop flight from NY to Boston. It was quick and smooth and I got good entertainment and got to watch tennis. I will definitely use Jet Blue more often."
Pros: "They had little televisions screens for entertainment which was unique that it had tv rather than movies. I liked it."
Cons: "No phone chargers which was a little flaw."
Pros: "This airline was fantastic! The flight was very comfortable, the crew was friendly and it was very pleasant. Would definitely book with them again!"
Cons: "There wasn't anything I disliked about it, it did what it was supposed to do. I was very happy with my flight."
Cons: "reading lite not working"
Cons: "Flight arrived late from international location so we needed to wait 20-30 min extra for inpection. Then, it left over 2 hours late due to mechanical issues which were never entirely fixed as we waited inside the plane. On top of that, there were only two tv channels working the entire flight"
"Flight was on time. Boarding was relatively fast and the crew very pleasant. The plane was new and clean. Snack was O. K. , fine for a 2hr. Flight. 👍👍"
"Flight was overbooked and we didn’t leave on time."
"It was just ok, flight attendants seemed tired and annoyed, they were not pleasant and welcoming."
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "Entertainment / TVs were not working"
Cons: "Internet and plane was small and old"
Pros: "The cabin was clean and the crew was friendly."
Cons: "Better snacks. Chips or mini cheese platter"
Cons: "Delayed for hours on runway"
Cons: "Wearing a mask was difficult."
Pros: "Everyone was great."
Cons: "Boarding crew not very friendly"
Cons: "Great crew and flight! Cheers!"
Pros: "I always have a consistently good experience on Delta. Everything was great."
Pros: "Quick and easy boarding and departing. Wonderful and friendly staff."
Cons: "Honestly, everything was great. Food and entertainment were a little lacking but for a 3 hour flight it was more than acceptable."
Cons: "3 hours late!!!"
Pros: "Exit row seating for no extra charge"
Cons: "Seat mate not friendly"
Pros: "The crew was amazing"
Cons: "Other travellers where rude"
Cons: "Explain why there’s over a 2 hour delay"
Pros: "Everything was as expected. Few delays but weather related and was only about 90 minutes"
Cons: "Reclining seats"
Pros: "Delta app is awesome."
Cons: "Really nothing. They did a great job."
Pros: "We landed 45 minutes ahead of schedule."
Cons: "Boarding was rushed and we left the gate late."
Cons: "Please reduce your delays - again we took off with more than an hour delay and by definition you are responsible of that disagreement, you are the company I am paying for the service...."
Pros: "The crew was nice"
Cons: "The food"
Cons: "Originally, they were putting me on a flight connecting through Atlanta. However, I was traveling with my brother and there was only one seat on it. After looking again, we were put on a much better route through Detroit. I did not have a seat on the second leg and was stressed that I could get bumped. I made the flight but was given a middle seat. Since I have clostrophobia I began to panic. My brother sacrificed his exit row seat for me. He had booked through Delta. I wondered if he got better treatment because of that"
Cons: "flights all on Delta - about one a week for 3 months straight - and yet when Delta cancelled my flight and re-booked they did not give me any upgrade or loyalty as I saw it - I had paid extra for Delta Comfort and they told me the flight they re-booked me on simply did not have any comfort available. However, I was not the one canceling the flight and re-booking - that is their problem and after so much loyalty for years I feel like I should have gotten some kind of upgrade for free...If I have to cancel - I have to pay fees - but if they cancel - I lose ...despite being a very loyal SkyMiles customer. I am quite disillusioned with Delta now and will have to look around to see what other airlines there are now - and my entire family - and what kind of loyalty they give to their loyal customers. It needs to be a two-way"
Pros: "The last time we flew Delta, we were underwhelmed. Our flight was delayed several hours and there was nothing exceptional about it when it did finally leave. That was 5 years ago, and there's been a lot of changes. There I'd now in-flight entertainment, reasonably comfortable seats, and everything was on time."
Cons: "Virtually no food options."
Pros: "Although we ended up being stuck on the plane for 2 hours prior to take off due to high volume, weather and as the pilot put it, "possible military activity" the crew kept us informed every step of the way. There was one flight attendant in particular who was so full of energy and made the unfortunate circumstances not so bad. She entertained us and kept us in the loop the entire time as did the pilots. It made the 2 hours not feel so bad which was appreciated."
Cons: "That we were delayed on the plane for two hours on a small plane but I know it was out of their control."
Pros: "There were many delays and cancellations due to bad thunderstorms at LGA. Despite a few hours delayed (because the airport was closed due to the storm), the flight was still schedule to leave! I was very happy about that. They did issue waivers for those who could not make the later time. Once delta got the ok to fly.. The flight left the gate very fast and we arrived and exited the plane super fast too. The process was so efficient and quick, I did not feel the waiting period. The flight attendance were so happy and positive, they made he flight very enjoyable. Great job delta!"
Pros: "I arrived safely."
Cons: "We all were bused to the plane. And we all had to stow our carry on bags with checked luggage."
Pros: "The on time departure. The air hostesses were very attentive. Fast baggage arrival"
Pros: "On Time"
Cons: "No opportunity to purchase additional food"
Cons: "Got put on standby despite having purchased my ticket over 1 month in advance"
Cons: "The flight left three hours late while the crew was waiting for an oxygen tank to arrive. We were boarded onto the plane after it was nearly an hour and a half late, then waited in out cramped seats for another hour and a half as we continued to wait for the same piece of equipment. At one point a Delta employee announced over the plane's PA system that we'd be getting vouchers to compensate us for this absurd delay, but there was no explanation of how to claim those vouchers."
Pros: "Delta made the experience great"
Cons: "Flight was delayed almost two hours"
Cons: "Due to weather patterns, we sat on the runway for 3 hours waiting to take off. There was approx. 50+ planes ahead of us. I know this because I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot on his way home. About 2 hours in, there was 30 planes left to take off, and then us. They air traffic control people were only letting off one plane per minute which is what was holding us. THEN after the 3 hours on the runway, our crew timed out and the brought us back to gate saying we were not taking off. At the gate, they informed us the flight was not 'cancelled' but 'delayed' to the following morning. I/m not sure how a 16 hour difference is considered 'delayed', but I digress. All Delta reps had NO idea the time of the new flight the following morning and told us all to just 'keep checking the app'. Now, fortunately for me I live in Brooklyn and could just go home. But what about everyone who was at LGA as a layover? I heard from multiple passengers they had to spend the night in a hotel, that Delta did not pay for. We finally got notice the new flight was scheduled for 9:30AM, which they AGAIN delayed until 11:30AM. Many people did not get the second change, and were already at LGA for the 9:30AM flight. To say Delta's handling of this was poor is an understatement. We knew when we got on that plane the crew was going to time out. Again, I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot who told me to 'get comfy, we're gonna be here awhile' the minute I sat down. Delta should have given us a fresh crew, or had a backup one prepared. I understand the weather is out of there control, and I understand you can't have a tired crew piloting an airplane, but there are other ways to have us take off remotely on schedule."
Pros: "For a short-haul flight on a small CRJ, it was the most pleasing and comfortable flight. No delays and everyone was pleasant from ground staff to flight crew."
Pros: "Wheeler chair service is available"
Cons: "Gate changed in the last minute and non-English speaking wheeler chair customer (my 89 years old mother) was left at the old gate by their wheeler chair services and no agent at the gate knew about her. Both round trip flights! This is totally NOT acceptable. She could have been lost and with no ability to help herself and miss the flights. It was lucky that she found Chinese speaking customers to help her."
Cons: "Delta doesn't manage their flight schedules and personnel with backup or standby crew in order to assist whenever there are delays across domestic flights. The plane was late to arrive at the gate and we were also told that while the pilot was ready to take off, we couldn't leave because we were waiting for a flight attendant to land from Pittsburgh (we were in La Guardia airport in NYC). delta would rather I convenience the flyer instead of hiring more personnel or figuring out standby or backup plans for delayed flights."
Pros: "Plane was clean. Hotel due to missing connection was nice."
Cons: "Flight delays cause cascade of irritable passengers. Flight out of Phoenix delayed due to late departure from previous location. We were told mechanical reasons was the cause of the delay. This caused many passengers to miss their connecting flight in Atlanta. When we arrived after midnight, one gate person was attempting to help 50 people with morning connecting flights and room accommodations. The airline knew 3 hours prior that they would have tired, hungry, frustrated passengers. To then have to wait more than an hour in a line to get a bed and or a meal was too much for most people. There were other smaller examples of how Delta's staff or procedures were not customer centric. I will avoid Delta for travel in the future, and I am getting out of their stock."
Pros: "Clean, pretty roomy (Delta Comfort)"
Cons: "Couldn't get onto internet. Both my wife and I could not access internet. Might be platform thing as we have Apple devices; woman next to us seemed to have nomorobkem with PC."
Cons: "Our flight was originally scheduled for departure at 7:45 PM. We got an alert stating that the flight was going to be delayed but we were already almost to the airport when I received the first message on my smartphone. We received three additional alerts making our total wait time at the airport 5½ hours before we could approach the gate and board the aircraft. Seating in immediate gate area was not comfortable. Boarding was chaotic at best with very little control and guidance provided by Delta staff. The audio over the PA system was difficult to decipher much of the time. The only other available boarding status information was presented on the screens stationed near the gate and indicated PREMIUM the entire time during our boarding process and was never updated. We literally had to scramble through the crowd to get to the gate desk and get our boarding passes validated so we could board our flight with our group of passengers. Our seating on board the aircraft was thankfully good which is why I rated Comfort as Okay. We were saddled with one more delay after the flight left the gate and taxied briefly down the runway and then sat there for almost an hour. My suggestions to improve customer satisfaction based on my experience would include the following 1. Provide extended alerts for passengers travelling especially if the anticipated delay is known to the airline more than 2 hours before scheduled flight time. 2. Improve seating in the waiting areas near all Delta gates. 3. Re-orient all staff in proper boarding process and utilizing all available resources properly to provide clear and intelligible (not speeding) overhead audio messaging and current boarding status prompts on displays. 4. Maintain or replace audio equipment if necessary to help improve quality of audio messaging in all boarding areas."
Pros: "Seats were reasonably comfortable."
Cons: "Boarding process was ok (they bused us over to the plane and then had us walking out halfway to the plane's stairs before frantically sending us back on the bus because the plane wasn't cleaned yet). Not a big deal but we were traveling with a 10 month old so miscommunications like that cause a larger inconvenience than usual. The real downer on the flight was when we needed hot water quickly to warm our infant's bottle. The stewardess had begun beverage service and was about 8 rows away from us. My wife hit the call button, expecting the stewardness to come over somewhat quickly. Instead, she just continued beverage service and got to us about 15 mins later. By that point it was too late and the baby was wailing from hunger. When we asked why, knowing that we had a small child, the stewardness didn't just push the cart forward and attend to us more quickly, she said she didn't want to do that. No apology, not even a sense of remorse. At the end of the day, a customer's experience will always be tainted by poor service and that is what we received on our flight."
Pros: "Was a nice flay , thanks"
Cons: "Out of all the airlines I have flown, this was quite disorganized in my opinion. The fact that I was not able to select a seat, nor did I have one assigned to me until prior to an hour before boarding, gave me a bit of anxiety. I don't think it's fair to take away this option to those that get the "cheap, standard" tickets."
Pros: "From curbside check-in to landing the plane, overall excellent service ! Very pleased to find out they offered a shuttle from checkin to the gate. I am having knee surgery soon and the walk from security to gate 34 LaGuardia would have put me over the top with pain! It was a very nice gentleman that gave me a ride to the gate and even stopped to let me use the bathroom. Thumbs up *****"
Cons: "The fact that I was charged $150 to check a small cosmetics bag is no loose change ! I would have carried it on but my hand is in a brace and I has to have extensive surgery. Then yoy get to the gate, and they repeatedly asked for volunteers to check their bags for free. I think this is a very unfair policy and try to explain it to the curbside attendant. I literally cannot carry more than five pounds in my left hand until I get bone replacement surgery. I'm also having knee surgery soon and this small additional weight would be caused me excruciating pain ! They didn't care and still charged me $150 for a bag thats no bigger than 12 inches and weighs less than ten pounds. Thats the way you treat your first class passengers? One other quick note: the sausage and egg sandwich? that was served for breakfast was absolutely horrible! Thumbs down !"
Pros: "Delta changed me to another flight without charge and the rep was very accommodating and pleasant"
Cons: "Multiple delays, from 8:15 to 8:49 to 9:05 to 9:39 to 10:12 to 10:19 to 10:25. I am not joking. Honestly, if the delay is due to 'maintenance' for an incoming plane that has not left its originating destination, why quote any time at all? The check in rep did provide an announcement at 8:15 that although the time of departure had moved to 9:05 , he did not see how that was possible since our plane was on the ground in Richmond undergoing maintenance. I was in LGA. When I heard that, I changed to another flight, so the outcome was not as bad as it could have been. I am aware of these other times since my email is packed with Delta's notifications, which I welcome usually."
Pros: "Everything else good."
Pros: "Everything was smooth. Short flight, but they offered us refills on drinks, which I've never experienced before. Polite staff, great flight. Thanks!"
Pros: "Friendly service. On-time."
Cons: "No tv's in airplane."
"The flight was 3hrs late to board. No tv’s, no food, no electronic outlets to charge your devices and the seats were hard."
"We waited for bags in Tampa airport for 2 hours. Also, no food or even water. Not going on it again"
Cons: "Little late"
Pros: "Captains are amazing! Reached earlier than expected"
Pros: "Smooth flight great pilot. Easy boarding"
Cons: "Not much"
Cons: "I Never in my life flying again with frontier"
Cons: "No drinks; hard seat, ticketing customer service lacking"
Pros: "One crew member was helpful in finding us tickets"
Cons: "We had to pay to get on the flight we were originally supposed to be in from a Frontier member’s mistake. Staff in Denver could not seem to locate any notes and charged us $60 each for the ticket “change”"
Cons: "Very uncomfortable"
Pros: "The flight, crew, etc. were great."
Cons: "I would have liked to get coffee or soda for no charge."
Cons: "LONG walk to car rental"
Cons: "They need to stop having so many delays"
Pros: "Yes the crew was very friendly and the seats were very roomy."
Cons: "The bad thing was our flight got delayed 5 hours and we didn’t get into Tampa until 1145 pm. Waiting around the airport that long was very tiring."
Cons: "How we were all told after most were ay the gate it was changed to a different gate once there we were told that it would be ay least 2hr late for maintenance. I'm handicapped couldn't get around that was time I could have spent with my family and I was Hungary snf needed to use the restroom which couldn't use until boarding. Very unprofessional I wouldn't give a better grade than a d'- not sure if I would use this airline again. At least we could have comped a free soda and chips. Since the airline new that was happening ahead of time and we could have made choice our selves what to doyou people charge for or fee for anything we might want to change but it's ok for you to treat us poorly sincerely Eugenio Cortez"
Pros: "The crew was so warm and kind. The really made the trip."
Cons: "I fly often. Mostly internationally for work, but often enough domestically that I am a learned flyer. I hated that there was no complimentary anything on this airline. When checking in, I had to pay for my seat, after paying the stated price on this site (btwn 13-45 $). There was food and beverage, that you also had to pay for, no complimentary soda or nuts on this airline. Also there was a carry on baggage fee!!!! Like wtf. Overall, though the crew was great, I would NEVER fly this airline again."
Cons: "No one contacted me to try to give me any type of credit or refund even though I lost two days of my trip"
Pros: "price and non-stop flight"
Cons: "The flight was 60+ minutes late, due to another plane sitting on the runway. The other plane kept passengers sitting on the tarmac for over an hour. We were told the plane had mechanical problems. The waiting area was so crowded with people it was people standing all over the place...it turned out that 2 flights full of people were waiting there. When we finally boarded, the plane had to be refueled and the plane had to be started up by being jumped or something because one motor was not working normallly; this was a bit frightening. Staff was not even smiling, or even comforting when we boarded. Brief apology by pilot."
Pros: "Price reflects service and experiwnce, but is cheap"
Cons: "Just before I left for LaGuardia airport terminal C, Kayak sent a push that my moms terminal was changed to d. I took her to D. They said she needed to be at terminal C to get her boarding pass. It took me ten minutes to circle LaGuardia to get back to terminal c, at which pointANOTHER push popped up that said her flight was in terminal D. I live in NYC so can get myself around, but kayaks pushes were infuriating as I am traveling with a wheelchair guest and your System is sending out the INCORRCT information. You almost caused my mom to miss her flight, which would have been very bad for medical Reasons."
Pros: "In flight crew was cordial, warm, professional"
Cons: "Everything else was a sh*tshow: bad information, confused and angry employees, flight was 7-hours late"
Cons: "We sat on the plane for over an hour waiting for our plane to take off"
Cons: "Lots of delays and cancellations. Customer service is not helpful. They only care about their ticket and will not reschedule you with another airline."
Pros: "I didn't enjoy the trip from Atlanta to New York or back"
Pros: "I really don't understand"
Cons: "It's too much delay that cost me almost my job. I had almost 7hrs transit in Denver and the plan has been parked there for almost 7 hours and when we start to depart, all frontier employees start doing things they supposed to do an hour a good. I assum frontier carry between 150-250 ppl, if 10 frontier employees finished their an hour check things around, it would be very very helpful instead westing 150-250 hours of passengers. When I saw the commitment of each employees in under cover boss show I was so excited to fly, but I don't think I can afford to the delay."
Pros: "Aside from a change of gate the everything was wonderful."
Cons: "I had got my boarding pass yesterday, when I checked in they no ever told me the gate was changed. I realized at the last minute something was wrong and started to inquire and found out that the gate had changed."
Pros: "I wish I had something nice to say..."
Cons: "4 hour delay due to a maintenance issue that we were not made aware of until 2 hours into the delay. The staff were INCREDIBLY rude and were mocking and making fun of passengers ( I was seated in the last row and could hear EVERYTHING! Also, the crew did very little during flight time. They instead sat in the back and played inappropriate games like Never Have I Ever and Truth or Daresnd spoke about topics like Sex...mind you that there was a 9 year old little girl seated next to me. By far the worst flight experience in my 30 years of flying ."
Cons: "My family and I missed the flight because of a man fell and killed himself on the same train we were taking. We were held at the station under the tunnel for 2 hours and it made the local news. I called Frontier and tried to explain the situation to Gary the manager and hoping that he could help me with a credit so I can fly Frontier again the following week but he said that he couldn't help me at all! That's a guaranteed of the worst customer service and zero non-returnable customer!"
Cons: "Didnt have someone at the gate to check my luggage or even to put in on the next flight. The security then took all of my stuff since I had to try and take it through the tsa and check it at the gate. Overall annoying and I would like to have my money back for the bags that I didn't use!"
Cons: "Frontier did not have problems with the same bad the last time traveled with them, but I was charged $60 at the gate for the same bag!!..How ridiculous is that? if I had knew that they would consider that as a carry on, why wouldn't I check in the bag earlier? Even thought I explained the same to the flight attendant, they were not even ready to hear to me!! Very Bad!!! How can a new Airline grow with such attitude ?"
Pros: "I like that the flight attendants seemed like they were having a good time."
Cons: "I didn't like that there is very, very little leg space on the plane. I didn't like that Frontier sells itself as cheaper than other airlines, but then charges $25-35 to bring a bag on the flight. Virtually every person that flies has a bag, so the "cheaper" flight is actually just as expensive as any other airline. Also, on a 4.5 hour flight from NYC to Colorado there were zero complimentary drinks or snacks. This, again, adds to the price and makes it the same price if not more than flying with a possibly more desirable airline. As we were boarding the flight, Zone 1, 2, 3..etc were called but they never called Zone 4, just assumed everyone would get up. The woman directing the boarding process just walked away and never came back to welcome those passengers as well. This was the first time and certainly the last time I will fly with Frontier. Unfortunately, selling yourself as a more affordable option should come with reasons to keep your new customers, not give them countless reasons to pay a little extra to fly with someone else. The business model here feels a little scammy, as a consumer. I assume you will be able to keep customers for a while through selling yourself as the more affordable option, but people are smart and will catch on to the fact that is a bit deceiving."
Cons: "Flight was late for boarding. No updates were given as to why or what was going on. The gate agent looked like she had a miserable day and did not offer a customer service attitude. Once on board the seat didn't recline and was hard as a rock, not ideal for a 4 hour flight. The flight attendant (Christine) was short tempered. Crew lacked basic soft skills. This was the first and I am pretty sure the last time I will fly on frontier. While I appreciate the low fares I did not expect the low level of customer service or all the extra fees that are tacked on for seats, checked bags and a drink onboard."
Pros: "People were professional and everything ran smoothly."
Cons: "I'm sure there's some tiny print somewhere explaining carry-ons are $45 but it should be more obvious when booking - even if you do it through a third party. It soured the rest of what was otherwise perfectly good service. Other passengerss reacted the same way. I was charged and then noticed the family next to me was charged only $40 for checked bags. The looks on their faces for having to pay for both types of bags was priceless. I mentioned the cheaper check-bag fee at the counter and she said, "Oh, but you said it was carry-on". It just felt scammy. Easy-Jet has been a discount airline for ages and they give you all the options up front so you know what you're getting into. They practically charge you for toilet paper but there are no surprises. Add the extra aggravation of LaGuardia's third world style and you end up with a frustrating day for avoidable reasons."
Cons: "I've never met such a rude staff. Every single attendant and ticket staff was horrific. By the time the flight ended, I heard at least four different people/families mention that the experience was so bad that they would never fly Frontier again. Everything was dirty and the Frontier workers treat us like animals. I've also never been on any other airline even spirit that made you pay for a duffel bag. By the time I paid for the small bag 60$ each way, it was more expensive than a Delta flight. I will continue to fly Spirit or Delta from now on and never again with Frontier. Horrible."
Pros: "Friendly crew/staff"
Cons: "I don't like paying for carry-on luggage, especially when I had no idea until I was about to board the plane. My seat was uncomfortable. I thought Row 5 on an Airbus 320 would have reclining seats, but to my disappointment it did not. I was surprised when the attendant informed me that most of the seats in the front front of the aircraft do NOT recline. Overall, flying Frontier reminded me of the one or two times I flew Spirit. I have avoided that airline ever since, and I will probably do the same with Frontier."
Pros: "The crew is courteous but still not overly understanding of someone waiting in the airport for a flight for 8 hours without any explanation for the delay."
Cons: "My flight was supposed to land in Tampa at 8:20pm and didn't land until 2:30am the next morning. This was a delay and a wait all with a 7 month old child. no explanation as to why the plane was delayed almost 8 hours and they still try to get you to pay for food when on the plane? Absolutely ridiculous. Even though the plane ticket is initially cheaper, by the time you pay $40 per checked bag, "pay" for the hours of delay or cancellation and reschedule, stress that accompanies your feelings when flying frontier knowing how unreliable they are, it's not worth it. I would rather pay $150 more and know I'll arrive on time with little or no hassle. I won't be flying with them again if I can avoid it."
Pros: "Initial price"
Cons: "So here's the deal. I knew a decent amount about Frontier going into this flight, but seeing it with your own eyes is shocking. They basically exist to charge passengers extra money at the last minute. Combine all the unpleasantness of other airlines in one, and that's what you get. As an engineer, I appreciate innovating to bring down prices, but that is not what's happening here. It's a case study in forcing people to accept the lowest common denominator in the broken system that is air travel. I would strongly encourage you to spend the extra $$$ to do a united or similar flight, you'll feel it initially, but when you're not stuck in some derelict corner of LaGaurdia asking yourself why you cheaped out you'll be thankful."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 3 hours, then we boarded the plane at 1:46AM. Only to have the flight cancelled. After 45min on the plane we had to get off and wait until 3:45AM to find out what the next step was (rescheduled for 11:30AM). Overall the communication and transparency around this ordeal was handled terribly. Staff had no plan to deal with situation, provided helpline numbers were useless, email/text communication of the rescheduling was nonexistent All of this is not even getting into the cheap service and setup of the flight itself. Will not be flying frontier again"
Cons: "I was shocked that I had to pay $80 on top of a $312 flight to La Guardia in order to bring a carry on. Also, this is a stripped down airline now, with no drinks served and not even a package of peanuts or crackers. Nothing. The reps at the check in counter for baggage were incredibly rude, and a French man standing next to me did not understand that he'd have to pay for luggage, and as he had no credit card, he had no recourse. He was sent on his way to the gate with his bag, but then was not let on the flight with the bag he had no way to pay for!! I will never fly Frontier again."
Pros: "The flight attendant and pilot were nice and seemed to care"
Cons: "The people at the ticketing counter were talking to each other and not present with those trying to check in. The plane ticket was cheap, but then it was a surprise that I frontier charges for carry ons and on flight beverages. So it pretty much equals out. The aircraft itself was pretty ghetto and cheap feeling. There was a child on the plane playing with an electronic toy that played a most annoying song for literally the entire time of the overnight flight. I was disappointed no one who worked on the aircraft asked these parents to make this toy stop so people could sleep"
Pros: "Crew was nice, but very uptight about wearing a seatbelt, not standing in line to use the bathroom, not changing seats, etc."
Cons: "I booked tickets with this airline for the first time because prices were significantly cheaper than with other airlines. However, I didn't realize I would have to pay $45 for carry on luggage, pay extra if I did want a seat in the middle, and even pay for soft drank! After factoring in all those things, it would have been a lot cheaper to use a different airline. Plus, it was by far the most uncomfortable airplane I have ever been on. No leg room, small seats that do not recline and have no cushion. Terrible experience!"
Pros: "Non its terrible! There's mosquito on the plane. Its hot. Seats cannot be inclined at all. And its dirty. There are drunk weird people too that the security doesnt seemed to care."
Cons: "It was late! And its ok for planes to be late it happens but this airline company is horrible. They informed as too late via email that its going to be delayed that i decided to take it easy for a while its going to be 2hrs delayed from 10pm was moved to 12:08. But then when i called them they said to come in early anyway coz it might change. What the heck! What if i took a nap since they informed people its going to be 2 hrs delayed from normal sched and then i miss my flight??? Just for them to say just come in early anyway they're just too unprofessional and horrible. Il never fly here again."
Cons: "The pilot was awesome but the crew was rude. We received notification that the plane was delayed and then 30 minutes later it was updated to the original take off time. People were late because of the notification that the plane will be late and we ended up leaving late anyway. At no point during booking my flight was i made aware that i would have to pay extra for my seat and carry on. The fact that you have to pay for something to drink on a dehydrating plane, is RIDICULOUS. I will never take Frontier again. This airline is joke."
Pros: "Read the fine print. This airline is cheap for a reason. There is a fee for carry on bags, and nothing is complementary. Seating is randomized unless you pay extra for a preferred seat. I opted for the cheapest option, no carry on and a random seat. This placed me at the back next to the rest room, but that's how it goes. Seats were very small, with the least leg room I've ever experienced. Thankfully, my flight was only 2 hrs long, and though we were delayed boarding 30minutes, we still arrived on time. Crew was very friendly and the plane was clean. I would recommend this airline for a short flight in which you have no luggage!"
Cons: "I'm 6'1, and I wish I would have paid extra for a "stretch" seat. No leg room in the regular seats."
Cons: "Mandatory baggage charges are such a ripoff. I could have gone on delta and added miles, thought I was getting a deal. My ticket was $60 extra because of the mandatory carry on fees."
Pros: "Not Much."
Cons: "Being my first flight on Frontier, I wasn't sure what to expect. The fare seemed very reasonable when I purchased the Ticket From Denver to Tampa. Like most of the flying public, I flew coach so obviously I didn't expect that I would travel in luxury. However my flight experience was not even on par with most other airlines that I've traveled on. First as many other reviewers have pointed out, the information on baggage fees isn't made obvious to you in any part of the booking process. I imagine that they make a fair amount of money by surprising first time customers who arrive at the airport expecting that their carry-on luggage will be free of charge, as is with most other airlines. Which in my opinion is deceptive. Expect to shell out some cash if you have Carry-on, and bags to check. The seats are the most uncomfortable that I've encountered, combined with the extremely cramped arrangements of coach made for a very unpleasant flight. Their flight attendant's primary focus is on those who purchased "stretch seating" and the first class. At no point during the flight was I offered water, or anything in the way of something to snack on. My final thoughts, pay a little more to another airline to get reasonably comfortable seats, baggage included with your fare, and attentive service in-flight."
Cons: "I didn't know I had to pay so much extra for my luggage. I'll be flying very often from this point forward - unfortunately it will not be on Frontier. I don't this airline is very honest."
Pros: "Direct flight"
Cons: "Very unimpersonable....felt like I was just a ticket number. No drinks or snacks unless you have a credit/debit card to buy a soda and snack for 2 bucks, seats seem smaller and the "snack" tray was smaller than a book. But I guess since they don't offer drinks and snacks with your ticket you really don't need that tray. I had to purchase this ticket due to a death in my family and it was the least expensive, but if I had a choice it would have been with Southwest Airlines. At least they still make you feel human."
Pros: "Only thing i liked is That we didnt crash"
Cons: "-$40 fee for personal bag that was slightly over regulation -one hour delay PLUS 2 hours stuck on runway in the airplane without access to water nor could we stand up out of our chairs for bathroom -finally when they were serving food and beverage only paying passengers had first access to food and water even if the crew had to walk all the way to the back and then back to the front to serve and charge them, it took about 45 minutes until they started serving water (of which the second cup of water they needed to charge for supposedly although we got "lucky" and they gave us a free second little glass of water)"
Pros: "Not much to like the plan was clean."
Cons: "The flight was two hours delayed. And the pilot or staff did not have the common courtesy to let us know what was happening. Pilot explained why they were delayed in landing at LGA. And it would be a two hour flight. However we waited another hour on the runway with NO updates!!! Just sitting on a plane, on a flight that was already late, was very frustrating. Frontier staff should really work on better communication. They also had an elderly woman pay $60 for her carry on. They could have waived the fee, she was elderly and she stated she wasn't aware that she had to pay for her carry on. It would have been a nice gesture when the flight was delayed."
"The weather could have been better but spirit handled it like a champ!!!"
"The airline changed the departure time in just a couple hours before the flight, causing confusion and resulting me to lose the flight. They gave me a new one but to days after the original flight."
"Had to rebook the return flight to avoid being stranded overnight at DIA. Wound up being stranded at LGA a day later."
Pros: "On time flight att very accommodations"
Cons: "All good"
Pros: "The crew was amazing all very nice but the seats!!!! Were absolutely too small I sat in my Niebor lap the whole flight"
Cons: "I feel like I am wasting my time writing here, cause I doubt anything will come of it. 1. Flights are not cheap!! “bare fare”??? 2. Gate closed around 1 1/2 hours before departure. WTH??? 3. Seating Is unbearable (uncomfortable seats no leg room) I felt like I was in a cattle car. 4. In a night flight why does the crew feel like telling us are cruising altitude and arrival time every damn 5 minutes(Is it illegal to actually sleep on your airline? Hence no reclining.) 5. For some reason there was no gate for us so we had to walk with a baby- Yes he’s cute I know! P.s. maybe if you start putting real seat pockets and reclining chairs the airport will give you a gate!!!!!"
Pros: "Smooth flight after 20-min delay on tarmac at LAX (not the airline's fault). Captain did very well to make up the time and got us to gate on schedule. Only one working restroom went far better than expected and whole flight crew seemed very attentive."
Cons: "Poor selection for food choices (gas station options at triple the price), but we had packed snacks and made do. No entertainment to speak of, but we had audiobooks on our phones. Upcharges for baggage were outrageous (an extra $100 for two 20-lb bags), but at least they got it all on the carousel fairly quickly once we arrived, thanks to TPA ground crew. Still, don't ever book a Spirit flight thinking you're done paying once you've purchased the ticket--that charge is only the beginning. Bags, seats, boarding time, food--it's all extra."
Pros: "Spirit is supposed to be discounted travel and many people paid very little for their flight - I foolishly paid a premium for my flights in July nobless thinking the cost would only increase toward Christmas. Then add the bags $31 each bag each way. Then add seats $17 each seat each way. Suffice it to say NOW I know. Additionally, you have to pay for drinks and the seats don't recline - rough at 6am. The flight crew was LOVELY, the takenoff and landing despite heavy snow was amazing. My ignorance is my only real complaint."
Cons: "Added costs Seats don't recline"
Pros: "I liked the service person who maintained a decent attitude."
Cons: "Not knowing what was going on. Not having received notice before arriving at the airport. The 1 carry-on $55 fee is ridiculous. Being directed to United as a replacement without being told it would be 30 mins before the change showed up in their system, trekking all the way over, having them tell me something was wrong, trekking all the way back to Spirit, and then having a different service person snap at me that that was normal, as if 30 extra minutes and unnecessarily going back and forth wasn't anything to do with them. This is my second such experience with Spirit."
Pros: "Once I boarded and found MY seat actually there, right where it was supposed to be, and we departed early, pleasant attendants (way nicer and knowledgeable than on-line booking crew!), uncrowded plane, no frantic, rude rush to get us through snack service, early arrival, uncomplicated, speedy disembarking, maybe, just maybe , I'll fly Spirit again. Now that I know all the ropes, rules, fine-print, etc.I'll price to see if it's really worth the drive to TIA, the parking expense, all the add-ons, or if it's easier and less agita just to leave from SRQ, my down-the-street airport and maybe just a few $$ more."
Cons: "The absolute chicanery of your on-line booking process!!!! Get real, people...I bet YOU couldnt even complete the process and remain sane!!!! I just read some reviews: people are rude loud and angry because of your online process I know you claim bare costs, but we are still giving you our hard-earned miney. We do it because we cant fly first-class (-$$$-) so dont make us feel like we are settling for steerage. It's a lot of money to us!"
Pros: "The crew was very pleasant!"
Cons: "Initially the price was much lower than other airlines but you end up having to pay extra to reserve your seats (i was traveling with a group so we wanted to make sure that we sat together) plus you have to pay to check a bag (40 lbs or less) OR to carry on. By the time we paid all the fees we realized that we could have gone with a better airline because the price ended up being about the same when it was all said and done. On top of all that, there are no complimentary snacks or beverages (not even water) so bring snacks before boarding the plane. With all that said, the flight crew was awesome and really nice/helpful."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed over 5 times! It was supposed to depart Detroit at 7:31am, we all had to get up at 4:30am to get ready and drive to the airport and it traveling with a 14 months old alone. So we get to the airport only to find out the flight has been delayed! They kept pushing it back further and it ended up being 2 hours delayed due to the fact they were 1 flight attendant short. My toddler was not happy having to sit at the airport for 3+ hours, never mind the fact she also had to get up at 5am. We sat at the last row and seats were very narrow and no leg room. We had to listen to the loud engine the entire time and strong smell of fuel during landing. My baby's ear hurt during landing and cried. I'm very unsatisfied with the flying experience with Spirit. Oh, our first flight was also delayed, from Tampa to Detroit, over 3 hours delayed! I don't think I'll be flying with sprirt again."
Pros: "On my way to Myrtle Beach the crew was great, lively and accommodating. Unfortunately, it was quite the opposite on the way back to NYC."
Cons: "I flew with my ESA. At Myrtle Beach through the check in to the flight, to take off the validity of my ESA was questioned. At check in my letter was passed around numerous time to see if it would suffice. It clearly stated why I needed my ESA. I was also asked in a very professional way if this was valid before one man gave the green light. I didn't feel comfortable disclosing details of my reason for my ESA, or the fact that it was questioned in general. This was a first as my ESA has flown with me through many different airlines, and my condition, paperwork have never been questioned. In addition on the plane I was told my ESA could not be on my lap and had to be under the seat. What is the point of the ESA? Ultimately once in the air I kept my ESA on my lap. This was a point of contention as the attendant kept coming by and asking she be secure under my seat. Truly an awkward, uncomfortable experience."
Cons: "Flight was at 6:30 I arrived at 5:00 and was waiting on line to check in and told me it was to late- even though I was on time ! I missed my cousins wedding and had to pay a fee of $100 just to jump on the next flight! I wasn't the only person either there was 7 more SPIRIT CUSTOMERS with the same issue- it seem like they were over booked and didn't care ! On top of that my small carryon bag was 100$ for round trip- that's insane! Spirit check in worker we're so rude and nasty and didn't care about their customers! Spirit airlines should be shut down- they steal and play with there customers! I DESERVE MY MONEY BACK OR THE FEE WAVED BECAUSE THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER ! My number is 6317454033 klyn thank you"
Pros: "I booked this flight late but paid through the nose. A long lay over When i asked where the sound tunnel was at the Detroit airport, Spirit employees said I couldn't go there WRONG! I went and it was fine. This is one airline you do not want to book last minute because they charge you top dollar and then it's a middle row seat, ($20 to chhose your own seat) NOTHING is complimentary, snacks, drinks or even water. Employees ill informed and not helpful but they smile right at you while their saying it."
Cons: "first time on spirit. I had no idea that I had to pay for carry on, and pay to get a seat assignment prior to boarding. I opted for general boarding, after paying $55.00 for a small carry on. with the added fees, their ticket price is not that much cheaper than a regular airline. I sat in the very last row. The seats were completely different in the last four rows than the rest of the plane. They were smaller, thinly padded, and the tray table was a metal plate that flipped down. I felt like I was on a folding chair. there was barely any leg room. i was twisted up like a pretzel. Although the flight left and landed on time, it was extremely uncomfortable. Next time I will think twice before booking on Spirit."
Pros: "flight was ok"
Cons: "no snacks. all to be paid separately-additionally"
Pros: "Nothing. There was nothing good about this. The people at the desk did the best they could, but they work for a terrible company."
Cons: "It's bad enough that they canceled the flight (which ultimately went on to LV and then OAK) without any warning minutes before we were about to board. But then they refused to let us go on the first leg of the flight (to Detroit) by having already removed our bags from the plane without asking. Then, to top it all off, their next available flight was 2 days later! I'm out the money for cab fare, hotels, and the money I missed from having to take a day off of work to book a flight with another airline (United, you saved me, and also didn't charge money for a glass of water!). If Spirit wants to reimburse me for all that, it would definitely change my opinion of them, but I'm not holding my breath."
Cons: "I gave Spirit a second chance after a bad first experience last year. I shouldn't have. I was charged $200 to change my flight after realizing that I booked the wrong day and was trying to get home to Kansas City for a funeral the next day. I received zero assistance. I had no choice since it was a death in the family, but I wish I would have had a different option and not flown Spirit. The flight itself was awful too - smelled bad and there was a fly flying around the entire time. Just bad."
Cons: "There were 5 of us who were trying to print our boarding passes. We were close to the 45 minute cutoff but there was still a man there who could've helped us but he insisted that there was nothing he could do! We walked around the freaking airport and no one could help us. We called the 800 number, no help. They even wanted us to buy a WHOLE NEW TICKET, with NO discount! Never again will I fly Spirit. Found a cheaper, nicer flight with someone else AND they didn't charge for everything like Spirit does! Ugh. Worst experience flying EVER!"
Pros: "The crew was nice, I guess."
Cons: "It started with my flight being delayed a literal 6 times throughout the day, it was the last flight of the day. I checked in the night before and saved my boarding pass as a PDF since I don't have a printer. When I arrive over an hour before my latest and most stable delayed time, I'm not allowed to print a boarding pass at the kiosk and am directed to speak to someone at the desk, but lo and behold, they've already left for the night. TSA tells me they can't let me through because of course Spirit boarding passes aren't scannable. When I speak to the Spirit rep in baggage claim as TSA suggests, she tells me she can't help me, can't print the boarding pass, and that I had to call reservations to REBOOK my flight because I was "late" for a flight that I already checked in for and was still over an hour away from leaving as far as I was updated. Two other men were in the same situation and we basically had to beg people in Southwest to let us print our boarding passes so we could get on the flight. I was successful but I don't think my comrades were because of course when they logged in to Spirit, they no longer had access to the boarding pass, despite also checking in online earlier. When I get through security and the gate, I find out the flight is leaving 40 min earlier than any flight status update reports. NO notification anywhere. I was so hesitant to fly Spirit knowing their history with others but I was going on a < 36 hour trip wanted to save $. Spirit will never receive my business again. They intentionally create systems to inconvenience people and provide poor customer service."
Cons: "Nothing is complimentary, all snacks and drinks for purchase are inexcusably expensive when other companies provide for free, hefty fee for checked bags and carry-on 40-50$ paid to and from which makes up the difference for their cheap flights (not much cheaper than JetBlue or American) my luggage was left in the city I was visiting and when I asked for a refund for my returning checked bag fee, I was denied because I paid cash at check-in and it wasn't on my reservation (obviously I had paid to have it flown because it was supposed to go on board). All in all terrible experience and not worth the 25$ travel voucher I received--which doesn't even cover cost of luggage 1-way--because I'll honestly never fly spirit again."
Pros: "Very little."
Cons: "Usury charges for all services, including seat changes, carry-on prices, lack of complimentary snacks & drinks on board. Major complaint. Long delays (hours and hours). Both flights. One 6 hours delay. Another, 4 hours delay. No prior notification. Passengers were forced to spend down time at the airport gates or be charged for finding other flights on nearby airlines with more timely departure. Just for the record, I will never fly Spirit Airlines again. I didn't save money and I didn't enjoy 10 hours of wait time with not believable explanation. (Sent for another plane to fly the route -- same excuse on both flights) Additionally, check in was ridiculously slow. Two clerks to manage hundreds of angry people. The equipment problem that was used as the excuse to send for another plane was justified by the clerk who was checking me in answered my question with the following statement: "You wouldn't want to fly a plane that could fall out of the sky, right? There is no reason that person should be handling customers. That kind of 'in your face' response to an inquiry about a 4 hour delay is unacceptable. We should have been compensated in some way other than be told 'take it or leave it, at our expense. In this case, an 8:55 p.m scheduled departure delayed to 12:30 a.m. boarding time would have gotten us to our destination (LaGuardia to Ft. Lauderdale) at 3:30 a.m. Our pick up plans would have to be scuttled. That, Spirit Airlines is unprofessional and unacceptable. For me, in my first attempt to fly with you, ended any further booking on Spirit Air. With this kind of performance, you will fail. (P.S. I happen to fly a lot and am a million mile customer on American Airlines and a steady customer on Jet Blue. I'd like my survey review to be forwarded to somebody who will actually see it. A response would be appreciated. Barbara Pesin email@example.com 631 - 766 - 4449"
Pros: "I got on the flight eventually and made it home to Dallas."
Cons: "The crew was extremely rude. My flight was delayed and I received many notifications notifying me of the time change. I arrived with plenty of time to get through security for the new time of the flight. When checking in however the crew told me that I had missed my flight. The plane had not left, the doors weren't closed, and the flight hadn't even boarded. I was devastated. They said I couldn't get a refund and there was no way they could let me board, I needed to arrive an hour early before the original time not the new time. Eventually I was able to speak with a manager after 4 other people arrived with the same issue trying to get on the flight, and I got on the plane. The ticket agent that I initially spoke to was incredibly rude though and had no compassion, nor did she even attempt to do anything to help me. Will not be flying spirit again."
Pros: "I literally hated everything from boarding to picking up my baggage"
Cons: "The most uncomfortable seats, nothing on the plane is free (soft drinks, snacks, everything costed money). We waited 35 minutes for our bags to be put on the belt.. The plane was old and decrepit, no tvs or any sort of entertainment. Our flight on the way home was cancelled thank god I bought flight insurance because spirit airlines is BS. I'm surprised they're still in business. Oh and I had to pay for my effing seats AND my baggage, including checked AND carry on bags. I'm never giving this airline my business anymore and I suggest all of you do the same!!!!"
Pros: "To upset about what went wrong to think about any thing positive."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for so long, that when we factor in the time that it toke to wait plus the two hours that I had to show up in advance plus the 45 minutes that I had to wait for my luggage, it would have been more convenient to drive From ATL To Tampa, The reason given was that there was no crew to flight the Plane, I missed the meeting I was supposed to be attending, so, I ended up just flying to Tampa For the pleasure that it is to fly in Spirit where they nickle and dime you for every single thing even if your flight is delayed for the same length of time it would take you to drive to your destination."
Cons: "I received a confirmation email that the flight was on time 3 hours before it was scheduled, so I left my house for the airport. Upon check-in I was notified the flight was cancelled. I asked to be put on the next flight to my destination, but Spirit advised there was not another flight until 6:30 pm that night. My original flight was scheduled for 8:30am. I also asked if there were other airlines they could book me on, and the Spirit representative said no, they could not put me on another airline. Additionally, my American Airlines return flight had to be cancelled since I was not going to make it. It was already too late to cancel that flight unless I wanted to pay a $200 dollar fee. All in all, a net loss of about $900 due to the nonrefundable return flight, cabs booked to and from the airport, and the nonrefundable hotel- since the cancellation was so last minute. Terrible experience."
Cons: "Flight cancelled an hour and a half before departure. Lying crew members said it was weather related to avoid having to place travellers on other carriers. Nasty, no help, said they could get us to our destination 2 days later. We rented a car a drove 12 hours instead, arriving home at 3:30am. My sons friend, who was flying with us to attend camp for 4 days, is now not here. They ruined the experience for both of them. Agent said there was a full ground stoppage at LaGuardia. Bulls--t. The Delta flight scheduled for the exact same time on the exact same route, took off and landed no problem. NEVER fly Spirit!!!"
Pros: "Horrible. Filthy seats and plane. Was told "get off plane and fly with another airline if you don't like it" several times by attendant just for asking for something to clean seat and floor with myself. Then I was thrown off for objecting to such disrespect ful treatment. I will pay triple, double, quadruple to fly with another airline from now on. This airline and its employees are beyond rude and disrespectful. Do not go anywhere near this company. I was warned not to fly with them and I thought it could not be so bad. It was 100 times worse!!!"
Cons: "Spirit airlines claims it has the lowest fares. I had to pay more for this flight than my Delta flight. I was not impressed with the fact that you have to pay for your seats ($10) if you want to know where you're seated when you check in. That doesn't even make sense. Then you have to pay even for water! For goodness sake on a two hour flight that was already delayed by an hour they had nothing complimentary to give us. I was freezing the entire time back to Chicago. In fact I was very uncomfortable because I don't think that the seats even went back. I felt like I was hustled by Spirit airlines and will choose not to take them ever again."
Pros: "The flight attendants salvaged the experience. I think weather delayed the flight, but the info provided before getting on the plane just made it seem like the pilots just weren't there. Couple that with discussion about how often Spirit is not on time a lot, led to a frustrating experience. Finish that off with boarding onto a plane that wasn't running, a/c was off and pilots still weren't there. Flight attendants jumped on it. Apologized for the inconvenience multiple times, kept everyone updated on efforts to get a/c started, passed out water, very friendly. Kudos also to the pilots who came in from Vegas and were supposed to be done for the day. They got on our plane and flew us to Tampa. I would guess that they didn't have to do that and if they had not, we may have been further delayed. I generally fly Delta. Had the on board experience not been what it was, I would be a one & done flyer with your airline. I will try you again based on the actions of those mentioned above."
Cons: "Gate personnel could have provided additional details and communicated better. It was just like, well we're delayed....sorry. Deal with it."
Cons: "Over priced, instead of charging one rate and include the standards, a seat, a carry on, everything was a fee! Then the flight is delayed and there was no way to find information on line, had to drive to the airport to find the counter closed, and there was no way of making my connection, decided not to fly at all on this airline and bought a ticket someplace else. Am hoping to get a refund for all the expenses, but I have been trying to cancel the flight, and now the website doesn't seem to be working. Keeps telling me to try again!!"
Cons: "1.- the charged me for my small carry on 2.- terrible seating,,.. so uncomfortable 3.- unprofessional staff 4.- no complimentary service at all.. fly attendants are there for nothing you have to pay for even a glass of water 5,- check in line are for ever.. if you want to check in online is so complicated (i always check online with other airlines and are so easy and fast) 6.- i arrived to the airport 40 min before my fly and the did not want me to aboard my fly stating that it was late for 5 min bc i needed to be to the airport 45 min before the fly.... that was just the excuse to charge me 200 more .. at the end i spend 360 for a trip that initially though would cost me 150 from NYC to Florida.. that a ripped off.. I WOULD NEVER EVER FLY WITH SPIRIT AGAIN and i would never recommended to any of my colleagues or friends. i was expecting something different since it was my first time flying with spirit"
Cons: "They cancelled my flight due to "weather" while every other airline was flying in and out of IAH. They offered to get me to my destination on the day I was to return or my $200 back. I booked early so I could get a better deal. At the time of my refund tickets were $1000 each. Ruined my bachelor party weekend and the trips of the other 6 people that were traveling for the occasion. Will never fly or recommend Spirit airline again! Worst experience I have ever had and would gladly pay regular fares from a reputable airline in the future. It is just not worth it."
Cons: "What didn't I like.....everything. There was nothing likeable about this trip. Flight was late departing. Then after boarding and starting to get to the jetway ..delayed due to re-routing by the FAA due to thunderstorms. I was not offered any snacks...the row ignored as the cart was rolled down the aisle. This was the most turbulent flight I have ever taken. Original arrival was 6:35p. Actual arrival 10p. I intentionally took an afternoon flight due to spirits food policy... Needless to say I had no dinner and was in too late to eat ..most establishments closed. Our checked bag was on another turnstile as well as a few others from our flight & we were not advised... Here we are standing around waiting...finally having to find staff to see where are bags were. Overall if the spirit staff had been more helpful.. Possibly offered complimentary snack or beverage I would have been more tolerant but due to the total lack of customer service from Spirit I will never fly them again."
Cons: "This was one of the worst travel experiences in my life. After arriving to LGA, I found out that my flight was outright cancelled because the pilot no showed for his shift, and therefore all flights with that plane/crew were cancelled outright. While Spirit did offer to buy me a ticket on another airline, I had to wait on hold for over an hour for my call to be answered by the customer service team. The customer service member who finally answered my call was very polite, but told me that the next available flight to ORD was in two days. When I explained that this was not going to work for me, she then said that the next available flight was at 4pm and connected through DC (1. it was 8am at the time, and 2. I had originally purchased a direct flight). Since I needed to get home to Chicago that same day, I accepted this flight on American, even though I knew I would have 7+ hours to kill in the gate at LGA and there was a layover late in the day in DC (which means there was a chance I would be stuck in DC overnight if the evening flight didn't get out of DC). While waiting the 7 hours at LGA though, I learned that American Airlines has direct flights to Chicago every hour and that each one of those flights had plenty of available seats. Therefore I am extremely upset with Spirit for lying to me. Outright cancelling a flight is bad enough, but then to be untruthful when rebooking because of their company's mistake causing me to spend 13 hours traveling instead of the two initially intended, is completely unacceptable."
Pros: "My first and last time flying with Spirit, for a multiple of reasons. First of, the flight was delayed over two hours, the gate agents were clueless as to why and how long it would be. Second, the flights attendants were unprofessional. I'm trying to use the bathroom in the back of the plane, but the door wouldn't open all the way because the flight attendant was sitting down, as she saw me struggle to squeeze in, she wouldn't bother to get up. Overall, it's and experience I never want to endure again."
Cons: "Arrived before flight time, but the door has been closed long ago. I suppose to fly on Wednesday but the next available flight is Friday. I had to work around. I tried to make a stand by and take others position but was told have to get tickets first. When I scan my passport, was told have to enter confirmation code, which was not included in email. After struggling for long, I got the code but when entering on machine, was told I could not get tickets because it was too early. After I get back to the queue, the poorest service came. A group of children were taking the whole queue taking a lot of time. The agent did not even reply to me. Everything in this company sucks!"
Pros: "The entire process was flawless. Plane was extremely clean, flight attendants very nice, even funny and mocking themselves a bit considering Spirit charges for EVERYTHING! The key to flying Spirit and not getting hit with large additional charges is to understand whats expected of you as far as baggage. Get this right and the rest of the experience is better than any other airline Ive had the displeasure of flying over the past 15 years. Apparently all passengers on this flight were well aware of the baggage limitations as boarding and exiting the plane once in Tampa went VERY quickly and rather than passengers getting bent out of shape during this process everyone was smiling! Havent seen this...ever!"
Cons: "Wish there was a Wifi option on the flight. Spirit charges for everything and this would have been another revenue stream for them and I guarantee most passengers would have used it and paid the $5-10 for access to the internet."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for more than an hour. The plane was making horrible sounds. It was like a loud Saw. No one told us what the sound was. It sounded as if the plane was going to fall apart. While I understand the need to charge for bags, I can not imagine why my purse and laptop are counted separately. Having people pay for a boarding pass is utterly ridiculous. The website is terrible. The system would not allow me to pay the $80 for my 2 bags when I logged on from home. When I got to the airport, I was charged $100 for my 2 bags. The staff was not very friendly. You could tell they were used to people complaining. They were indifferent to any complaints. For all the aggravation and additional fees, I really wish I had paid the extra to be on a different airline. It would have been cheaper and less aggravating."
Pros: "the only thing I liked were the passengers"
Cons: "Everything else was terrible! Disorganized gate, disorganized check in, we left 5 hours late and then we were told the staff needed to be changed for this domestic flight, they did not have a sticker on the plane registered so they had to fill out paperwork for an hour after we were delayed and sitting on the plane, there were only two hosts working the beverage service and they only came around one time until the end of the flight to collect trash. It was very crammed and I would never take a Spirit flight again!"
Pros: "The crew in the plane going and coming were very nice. Captain was informative."
Cons: "Ground crew were totally unprofessional going I was at kiosk trying to get my tix and was having a problem. Went to the counter as I approached the flight was closed. Lady at counter called to get me on and there was no seat. Really had it been the minute before had I hd got a seat?? Speaking of seats your seats r ridiculous great if u r only 100 pounds!! Back to me not getting a seat I was only spending 4 1/3 day in NY of which I lost the day to lack of seat. Bad enough I didn't have a seat the ground crew only spoke in Spanish which I do not speak we are in America how about speaking English!! No seats avail on the next flight I had to wait until the 8 something flight. Then the topping in the cake I was charged $55.00 for an overnight bag that I could have fit on the top for free. I paid for my bag to go onboard and I have to leave I didn't want to wait ther for 9 hours to fly. When I get back I go to print my tix and the paid carry on is not on the ticket??? Really ?? I go to a ground attendant who rudely shops me over to a long line to have the boarding pass corrected. I then get on this 15 min wait of a line. I get to the person at the desk who tells me it was a glitch in the system. acyer 15 min back n firth I had them bag check my bag. Which by the way was 50 I paid 55!! Then I get it u nickel n dime u for everything but to charge 3.50 for a soda and coffee n water WOW that's pathetic. I will not be using your airline again I stopped using u when u charged for baggage. It's been about 10 years. I now won't fly again unless I need to go someplace for a funeral if there isn't another airline to fly!! Very sad"
Pros: "Good for people that are going on a 1-2 day trip."
Cons: "The price of the flight is cheap but the quality is also cheap. The seating is very close to eachother and really doesn't matter what size you are, you will be brushing arms with the passenger next to you. That's how really tight it is. And they claim that you are paying less but in reality you have to pay for any type of baggage that is not a purse or bookbag. Which they should mention loud and clear when purchasing online because at the airport, many people didn't know what was acceptable and they were at the terminal having to pay an extra 100 dollars for one little suitcase."
Cons: "No, fight is not a typo. This plane was already delayed three hours as a result of Spirit airlines. We were finally on the runway after sitting in the airport for over two hours without explanation and sitting on the plane for over one hour without explanation. Every one was belted in. We were about to take off. These two women who had been bickering for a few minutes suddenly began throwing punches. The crew broke up the fight and we had to return to the gate. Police came on the plane and removed them. That added another hour to our delay. This is the first bad review I've ever written. I believe that if the other two delays hadn't happened, tempers wouldn't have flared and this fight could have been avoided. I did not enjoy my experience with Spiritt at all. As an economy traveler I loved their prices, but I may not fly Spirit again."
Pros: "staff was friendly"
Cons: "the tickets were very cheap...but they get you at the airport..it cost $50 for each piece of luggage..even a small carry on, so that added to the cost of the 'cheap' ticket. Nothing, not even a bottle of water was free on the plane ride...we brought our own water and snacks bur to not offer free tea or coffee and a bag of pretzels was pretty chintzy. The seats do not recline at all..so the ride was uncomfortable. No tv or movie screen. My flight was only a few hours, but a longer flight would have been miserable"
Cons: "I would not recommend flying this airline. You have to pay for your carry-on (anything that is not a purse or a briefcase/laptop case). If you are checking luggage, you must pay for that as well. In order to have a seat assigned prior to departure, you must pay a fee to get the seat you prefer. I do realize that other airlines do that, but not for every single seat on the plane. The flight attendants are friendly, but that is primarily because that don't have as many tasks as other flight attendants on competitive airlines. There aren't any complimentary beverages. You must pay for water. The person sitting next to me asked for a cup of ice and waited for it to melt so he could get water. The seats are smaller, the tray table is the size of the iPhone 6s Plus. There aren't even seat back pockets... they have been replaced with two thin bungee chords forming an "X." You can not recline your seat back. Expect to have an uncomfortable flight. My overall all impression is that the seating area in Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC is nicer than Spirit Airlines (and Port Authority is disgusting). I would recommend paying $250 roundtrip onVirgin, Jet Blue, American, Delta than being subjected to Spirit Airlines."
Pros: "The flight was acceptable."
Cons: "The people that sat behind me were loud and obnoxious. They ordered drinks during the flight as well. Just what these people needed, alcohol. The crew was laughing and joking with them like they were all friends hanging out. Very unpleasant. I'm not an old prude but at the same time, that is not the behavior I want to deal with on a flight. I feel it's because of the low price of the seats. i am not likely to fly again because of that. I would rather pay a little more for a little bit better quality. The gate was also changed 2 or 3 times the day of the flight. Not sure if that is the airline or the airport. Not fun in Atlanta trying to figure it out."
Pros: "I travel every week. The airline cancelled last minute and were very rude when I called them to figure out an alternate option. Without any help from Spirit, i managed to pay for another flight with Jetblue to the exact same location and yet the reason Spirit cancelled this flight was due to weather. Very odd. I paid for a new flight, extra hotel and the extra transport to the airport and all they said was we can give you $44 refund for your ticket. Wow, that is pathetic. I would be ashamed to represent this airline and I will likely send and email to the FAA regarding this cancelation"
Cons: "My daughter was traveling ALONE and stuck in Houston. No one at Spirit helped her. No flights out that day or night. She was scared and didn't know what to do. No help from Spirit. I finally found her a flight on United 7 hours later and had to pay over 400.00. We paid for her bags on Spirit and was charge 50.00 for only one way. I will NEVER USE SPIRIT again. No customer service, no help for a young girl alone in an airport. No hotel, no shuttle, nothing. I want my money back for her United Airlines fare. United flight 1789 E2GKGD. I work in advertising with all the BIG agencies worldwide. This will be told. Please reimburse my flight. Mom of Daughter"
