The only decent point was the food. Not great but at least edible.

Since check in in São Paulo was a complete chaos. There were only 2 people helping on check in (in machines) and these people were still not helping people (like me) with questions about on how to do check in in those machines. On the other hand to dispatch the bags there were almost 8 attendants to receive the bags. Ridiculous! I’ve tried calling American Airlines and Latam several times to assign a seat for me and they swore there were only middle seats but I know how airlines work to make extra money on these seats. At the end, they only gave me a middle seat option and I had to take I.t of course. On the plane I realized there were dozens of empty seats and yet they made sure not give them to me or anyone else. Unbelievable! Unfortunately I still have to use AA on my way back to Brazil. After this, I’ll chose another airlines for sure. Also, the 3,4,3 arrangement is ridiculous: there’s no corridor space making people touching you everything someone passes by your seat. And boy! Those seats are so uncomfortable and there’s no way to incline the chair so you can even have a little rest (because it’s impossible to even sleep on those seats). The crew were simply doing their jobs! No pleasure! No smile! No engaging with anyone unfortunately! They looked miserable and I asked for water and the flight attendant NEVER brought me anything. Seriously! Water is free!

Plane was old and dirty, seat pocket had junk in it. Seat was broken and couldn’t stay up. In flight movies were from few years back with a center tv and no head rest screen. Crew on overseas flights tend to be older in age and less tolerant..much better on continental on the same route.

Gate agent did not start forcing check in, which caused delay in boarding. Ground crew did not stock aircraft until 20 minutes after scheduled departure time. and DFW did the usual 20 minute taxi and then 15 minute hold prior to take off.

This flight was miserable. Seriously, one of the worst flight experiences I've ever had. The leg room was absurdly small. I'm not a tall person and I only had one inch in front of my legs. When the guy in front of me put his seat back it pressed into my knees. There wasn't enough space to bend down and untie my shoes, let alone get something out of my bag. My shoulder and knee were touching the guy next to me (a complete stranger) for the entire flight and there was nothing I could do about it. This was a red-eye but I absolutely could not sleep because it was so uncomfortable, so when we landed I had a terrible migraine and was nauseous and disoriented going through customs. I actually had to sit down in the airport because I though I was gonna pass out while trying to carry my bag, that's how shitty I felt after this flight. On top of that, not being able to sleep on the flight really messed up my sleep schedule and so jet lag from the time change has been made even worse, so I'm completely out of whack and its so much worse that it otherwise would have been because of the horrible flight. Also the food was gross and there wasn't enough of it. Even now, I don't think I have really communicated just how shitty this flight was. I was actually angry when I saw my seat upon boarding, and I'm still angry about it now.

I would like to possibly see some better food options maybe for people who can not consume dairy. With the many different cheese platters, I was very uninterested. I had an early flight and thought I'd be able to eat something with a sort of substance. I was quite disappointed, I guess I'll have to be the annoying customer who brings chipotle on the plane next time.

I checked in to the flight 24 hours ahead to ensure I got an aisle seat, because I knew I’d probably be going back and forth from the bathroom because I had been feeling ill. When I got to the ticket check to board the flight, my name wasn’t found in the system, and I was turned away to go back to the front desk. So I did, and the person there was seemingly able to get me an aisle seat in the same row, just across from where I originally was. But, when I got to the row, another man was in that spot and showed me his ticket which was the same seat I’d seemingly been re-assigned! Not given food vouchers. Had to pay for 1 checked bag despite flying internationally. Overall, very dissasatisfied with Alaska Airlines and I will be sure to go out of my way not to book again with Alaska.

Our plane was defective so had to be replaced. This is fine, I certainly am willing to wait for a new plane if it means not blowing up over the ocean. The problem was how little the attendants at the gate communicated the situation to us. What should have been a brief layover became a 12 hour nightmare. The gate attendants did finally issue meal vouchers but they waited until 10 minutes before all the restaurants closed and only issued $10 a person. This is enough to buy a hot dog at an airport... We were told there wouldn't be any rescheduling of missed connections until we were "airborne". This resulted in mass panic and confusion upon reaching our destination. We were told to go to the service desk, half an airport away, but once the entire passenger contents of the plane arrived at that far flung service desk, we were mostly turned away to seek help at individual gates. This lack of communication meant I missed the next next available connecting flight and now have a further six hour layover. I understand accidents happen and planes can break down but the nearly complete lack of care and customer attention is, frankly, disappointing. I've now had nearly an entire day added to my travel time. If I'd been willing to loose that time I would have paid $600 less for my ticket. United finally offered a token of their appreciation : a $100 e-voucher. I have spent more than that on food and coffee in airports for the past two days while trying to survive until my next connections.

On two of the legs of the trip they notice I was a tall person with long legs and upgraded me to seats with more leg room!! I didn't even ask. Thank you.

On the way back there were open seats with extra leg room and I asked the gate attendant if it was possible to switch my seat to one with more room and they said they only could if I paid extra.

Fortunately as a passenger the economy flight area was very spacious due to low numbers of passengers. Which provided a comfortable seating space.

The entertainment could and been a little more variable in the film range provided. But generally overall I had a excellent flight. Food was good. Crew were very good and I would definitely consider flying United on my next visit out and recommend that my family did. Thank you United.

The gate attendants did finally issue meal vouchers but they waited until 10 minutes before all the restaurants closed and only issued $10 a person. This is enough to buy a hot dog at an airport... We were told there wouldn't be any rescheduling of missed connections until we were "airborne". This resulted in mass panic and confusion upon reaching our destination. We were told to go to the service desk, half an airport away, but once the entire passenger contents of the plane arrived at that far flung service desk, we were mostly turned away to seek help at individual gates. This lack of communication meant I missed the next next available connecting flight and now have a further six hour layover. I understand accidents happen and planes can break down but the nearly complete lack of care and customer attention is, frankly, disappointing. I've now had nearly an entire day added to my travel time. If I'd been willing to loose that time I would have paid $600 less for my ticket. United finally offered a token of their appreciation : a $100 e-voucher. I have spent more than that on food and coffee in airports for the past two days while trying to survive until my next connections.

The Captain of this flight did an awesome land g in Ketchikan, AK. The runway is short and this was the smoothest touchdown for a landing ever! Thank you whoever the Captain was!!!

The only part I could honestly say was I wish I booked an earlier flight to see Ketchikan from above prior to landing.

I checked in to the flight 24 hours ahead to ensure I got an aisle seat, because I knew I’d probably be going back and forth from the bathroom because I had been feeling ill. When I got to the ticket check to board the flight, my name wasn’t found in the system, and I was turned away to go back to the front desk. So I did, and the person there was seemingly able to get me an aisle seat in the same row, just across from where I originally was. But, when I got to the row, another man was in that spot and showed me his ticket which was the same seat I’d seemingly been re-assigned! The middle seat was empty, and so I sat there for the time being, while we enquired about it. One of the flight attendants said they’d look into it, but just seemed to brush it off and never gave us a response. I was mainly annoyed about being shuffled around, getting reassigned a spot and was clear about wanting an aisle seat, and it never happened even though I chose that seat 24 hours ahead in the first place. I felt there were a few chances to make it right, but it never happened.

Smooth operation, on time

Seat pitch on the plane unbelievably cramped. When seats are so close that if you drop something on the floor you have to be a contortionist to get it, you know it's a problem NEVER fly the 787-900 economy.

Fortunately as a passenger the economy flight area was very spacious due to low numbers of passengers. Which provided a comfortable seating space.

The entertainment could and been a little more variable in the film range provided. But generally overall I had a excellent flight. Food was good. Crew were very good and I would definitely consider flying United on my next visit out and recommend that my family did. Thank you United.

Boarding was chaotic - flight attendant said procedure not consistent with UA practices. Food only available is purchased from UA, and what food was available ran out (I never did get fed on the 11+ hour flight). Cabin very cold.
