Cons: "I showed up 2 hrs before the flight. Was told the flight from Toronto to Minn was delayed 30 minutes and go stand in line to speak to an agent. There were approx 20 in line yet only 2 gate agents at 4:30pm. One of the gate agents kept helping the Premium members and bypassing the standard line. The other agent was in a coma as his average person at counter was 10 min. Finally get to counter and they hand me a boarding pass going via Salt Lake in 30 minutes. But has a 3 hrs layover in SL. I then get to US Custom check for US residents re-entering and the line was a good 30 minute wait. You would think the Delta folks would have accounted for that line. I had to ask everyone in front of them if I could skip in front as the plane was now departing in 10 min. I had to then run on a bum knee and was the last to board. The agent at gate was saying we were calling your name but did they think I could have been stuck in customs? On that short of a window they should have walked me through Customs to make sure I got on a flight they wanted me to take versus my scheduled flight."

Next day we realize they didn't schedule us on the first OR second flight of the day but the third so we were delayed by 36 hours instead of 24!!!! The planes are tiny, very old, quite dirty. The staff seem totally non chalant about all these cancelled flights and allllll of the delays and repeatedly say that the airline is understaffed... hello i don't care why my vacation was cut short by 36 hours and i got stuck paying 200$ for a hotel room tat i didn't get to stay in!!! Get your act together Porter!!!!"

Gate agents were friendly and so helpful. Nrwark had a nice smaller lounge. Lots of legroom on flights."
Cons: "You have to be aware that these are props, so flights do get delayed or cancelled due to weather. Both of our flights were delayed. But they were very up front about it. Also put us on earlier flights automatically which was nice."

Cons: "- My first flight was delayed and I wasn't notified until an hour beforehand (even though the flight was delayed due to an incoming flight they knew well ahead of an hour beforehand would not be there). I could have arrived at the airport later and paid less for my parking. - I was told by a gate agent I would still make my very tight connection (spoiler alert - I did not), so I did not ask to be rebooked on a later connection immediately. - Once it became clear I would likely miss my connection due to being delayed after boarding, I asked again about it, this time of a flight attendant. I was told there were 23 daily flights a day to my connecting city (there are not) and it would be fine. We sat on the tarmac for 30 minutes after landing waiting for a gate and the last hope of making that connection was gone. - Upon arrival in Toronto it turns out my connecting flight was cancelled and everyone had to be rebooked. The very pleasant customer service rep told me not to worry! They automatically rebook everyone and I've been scheduled to leave 10 flights later - the following morning. At 12:45 p.m. their best solution was a flight at 8:30 the next morning (later canceled). When I calmly explained that was not ideal, I was immediately given the "last seat out today" on a 9:30 flight (later delayed then canceled). I'm not sure who they were saving that for, but it is unacceptable to rebook people for the next day when they have free seats. I was resigned to spending 9 hours in the terminal (literally just a room with a few snacks) because I was also on standby for every flight until then, and fortunately after checking in again 5 hours later, I was handed a ticket for the flight leaving in 15 minutes. If I had followed Porter's original plan, I have no idea when I would have made it, as I already mentioned both of those other flights were later canceled and I've already gone over how Porter rebooks passengers. - I found out after I spent $20 Canadian on a sandwich and chips via the Porter website that they are supposed to give meal vouchers in a significant delay, but I was not offered one. - On the way back, I saw myself being set up for the same rigmarole. My first flight was delayed more than a half hour, leaving me with a very tight connection. Thankfully, I arrived at the airport earlier and was able to catch an earlier flight because as it turns out, the connecting flight I would have missed due to the delay ended up being canceled. I can only imagine what the rebooking process would have been, so I am glad Porter is accommodating about switching flights. I imagine they do so to save them the rebooking later, but still, it is not something all airlines will do. - Both flights out to Montreal were incredibly hot. I tend to run cold and I was sweating. The flights home on a warmer day were fine, so I'm not sure what was going on there."

Cons: "The flight was repeatedly delayed, at the gate, on the departing runways, and on arrival waiting for a gate. The Porter employees lied in ongoing manner about the length of the delays. I was seated by the departure gate and heard them tell passengers repeatedly, "10-15 minutes", when we were eventually delayed for 2 hours. When we were had landed and were delayed waiting for a gate to disembark, and the captain came on the intercom to tell us it would be a "five minute wait" the passengers literally laughed aloud incredulously."

When I got off in Halifax, new passengers boarded to go to Ottawa...? Why remove an Ottawa bound passenger so you can replace with a different Ottawa bound passenger? Not cool Porter...."

Pros: "Entertainment n/a. My flight was really quick. We took off around 9:55pm and landed at 10:30pm which is crazy because it was supposed to be a 56min flight ! Porter makes you feel like you're in first class with their aervice. They also have a comfy lounge to wait in."

Cons: "The flight was considerably delayed, so that we missed our connection, the airport personnel at Newark sent us all over the place attempting to pass off the problem onto somebody else- even encouraging passengers to go to Montreal and "figure it out from there." Bags were taken off the plane and then put back on...the subsequent flight (the next day) was also delayed, and required half he plane to sprint through Montreal to their connections. It was not worth it. Especially considering I tried to call Air Canada for some of my refund and the number they gave me was a fax line."

Cons: "First time flying this airline and I was surprised to see TVs on the plane though they had a smaller selection than other airlines. They made an announcement at the gate before boarding that anyone with a US passport had to complete an info card. I feel that was an inefficient way to collect that information as people who arrived after the announcement did not complete it. The card seemed a bit pointless."

For example, I was either stepped on (as a result, being woken up) or my backpack was stepped on several times when an attendant was walking down the aisle, and neither of those things were sticking out into the aisle. This has rarely happened to me on trans-Pacific flights (more crowded, longer flights) so I can only attribute it to the carelessness of the attendants and/or the aisle width but since I think aisle width follows international standards it's more likely the former."

So why pay extra for seating when the airline can put you wherever they want at their discretion. In addition there was a minor delay in take off while the flight deck crew had to re-programmed the avionics to our scheduled route. But we made up the time en route and were only a few minutes late. On the whole, not a bad flight experience, just the usual frustration in the process. I long for the days when flying was a pure pleasure."

Individual TV monitors with entertainment (I prefer leaving it on flight itinerary status while reading a book). Good bretzels & tomato juice served by a multilingual flight staff. Boarding, departure & arrival on time to the second. Can't ask for more."

Cons: "This connecting flight was worse, as we sat on the tarmac for well over an hour and were not provided with so much as a single beverage the entire time we were waiting or flying. Apart from the great in-flight entertainment system, the whole experience was brutal."

Cons: "Unfortunately, my flights were delayed due to show, which is understandable. However, a friend of mine told me my flight was delayed before Air Canada even announced it. I had incorrectly assumed that the website had made a mistake because we were boarding on time. Once boarded, they announced a 1 hour delay."
Pros: "We didn't bring any snacks for our kids due to airline policy. The airline only offers beverages now. We were expecting something to eat and my son was so hungry. The hostess was kind enough to give us pringles but it was too late. That's when we were about to land. At least let us bring our own snacks if you are not giving any or let us know in the beginning if there will be food upon purchase only."
Cons: "Ticketed for Air Canada, but it was a code share flight with United Airlines. The check in at United took over 15 minutes because my reservation was not recognized by the United online system. Luckily a United agent was able to work through my paperwork and get me checked in, with luggage, via Ottawa to London, Heathrow. However, at the boarding gate for my flight to Ottawa, my boarding pass was deemed invalid and it took another 15 minutes to issue a new boarding pass - with seating at the back of the bus. Was a frustrating/annoying process. Luckily I encountered two capable United employees who worked to resolve the issues."

Pros: "Gate assignment was only 44 minutes before take off and with the size of LHR got there after boarding had started. Confusion as right beside it was an AC direct flight to Toronto also boarding so lines were mixing. A hot meal provided which was good except for a stale roll and awful "salad". A hot wrap provided later in flight that was awful, should have used pizza pockets. Good crew and good flight. Always carry active noise cancelling ear buds or headphones."

The United people that I spoke to in the terminal were very rude and disrespectful. The one woman that I spoke to was extremely nasty to me and it seemed like she was under the influence of something. This experience was totally unacceptable . Not everyone is comfortable flying, especially if they have not flown much. Airport personnel should take that into better consideration . Instead of flying next time, I probably should take the train!"

Tone of people were checking in at the gate and thus didn't pay extra for economy plus. There were loud and inappropriate passengers and the flight crew didn't do anything about them. I will avoid United at all costs the next time I travel...truly."

Cons: "I arrived at my final destination and walked to baggage claim. I was just standing there waiting when a young girl walked by me in a uniform and said rudely and almost annoyed, "do you have a question". I replied that I was waiting on my bag. She then said these are it and I said so my bag has been lost? Without any empathy AT ALL she again, rudely and now most definitely annoyed said Do you have your bag tag? I said yes and she proceeded to walk away to a corner office. I assumed I was to follow. She took my tag, no communication at all from her, I said what are you doing and she replied I have to file a claim. She then proceeded to tell me that Newark Airport was horrible and never travel through there if I know what's good for me. This was extremely unprofessional. I was simply wanting some guidance from her on what to expect etc. I had to ask her what my next steps were. She handed me a flyer and said if I had any questions to call baggage information listed on the pamphlet. I left. The next day at about 1 p.m. I called the number and the update said my bag had left the airport and was out for delivery. Keep in mind that I had to work the next day after the airline losing my bag and had to purchase shower items etc due to them being in my lost bag. Portland jetport and my home address is less than 40 minutes apart, yet my bag did not arrive at my home until 8:30 p.m. and I'm also not confident it would have ever arrived because I called around 7 p.m. and spoke with someone who called the delivery service to ask their ETA. I paid $25 to check my bag and yet it was lost. What did I pay for?! If I can help it, I will NEVER fly United again and I'll be certain to tell everyone I know about my experience with this airline."

Cons: "A lot of people of all ages, shapes, sizes, and dispositions were crammed into a comparatively small space. It was close and stuffy, very little space to stretch or move about when that was allowed. I'm not tall, but in terms of body mass I'm thicker and wider than many folks, but not obese, and my body thermostat tends to run on the warm side. So the flight was a bit of a physical and mental ordeal for me. The entertainment might have been great had my headphone port been operational. A previous passenger broke off the plug in the hole and the flight staff didn't have a pair of pliers on board to pull it out. Consequently, I was unable to listen to the media in-flight. Also, I couldn't recline my seat because the fussy older woman who sat behind me complained when I did, which made it difficult to snooze."

Cons: "- They were very strict about carry-on luggage size, and insisted even after the flight being 3 hours late. My carry-on fit into their overhead compartment just fine. - No food was offered during the 6 hours flight. - Chairs in coach are uncomfortable for long flights (same as some other airlines I've flown with). Feet or head rest could be nice additions that don't require much additional space per passenger."

Airline representative didn't know the difference between the expiry date of a visa and that of my passport.. he just ran away with the passport to check and didn't get convinced and it took him long to return, with me just waiting and knowing nothing about where he went. Only the passport needs to be valid for three months after returning from the trip. Not the visa. He should know that. I got my boarding pass at the end, and he didn't apologize for the inconvenience or anything."

Charging $16 for internet is gouging to the extreme. Truthfully, I would choose to pay a little more for my ticket if I knew that United did not cram people in like sardines, provided good quality free internet, provided free video content (on consoles that worked), and provided a small snack (better than a little wafer)."
