This never used to be policy for Frontier and I was shocked to pay $68 from Columbus to Denver and then $58 on the way back just for my carry-on and seat. I also had two unattended toddlers behind me on the way home which were disturbing the entire flight. Their mother chose to sit across the aisle for some reason and they were literally screaming the entire way. Perhaps an adult or parental guardian should be required to sit with children under the age of 6? Come on."

THEN I found out they charge me for a seat... on the flight I already paid for. Boarding was disorganized, seats were thin padding on plastic, quite uncomfortable. I also had to clean crumbs and trash off my seat before settling in. They charge you 2.99 each for water and airline peanuts; i didn't partake. they only gave me one boarding pass and when I boarded the plane, they said that is was the flight to Denver and then they were continuing on to Columbus. I assumed this meant I stayed on the plane when we landed in Denver, but no, they informed me the plane was then going to Cedar Rapids. I had no second boarding pass or gate number, so I asked the attendant. She took forever to help me, looking up my info for a minute and then talking to the other attendants and passing out papers to the boarding crew before acknowledging me again. Twenty minutes later, I had my gate, which I barely made to board in time for flight takeoff. Overall, the process was stressful, uncomfortable, and more expensive than if I had purchased a flight from Delta, Southwest, or Alaska. (All airlines I have flown and been happy with. Delta had a missed layover once and completely put me up for the night and was very helpful through the whole affair.) All said and done, I will not be flying Frontier again."

Use a different airline and save yourself the let down."

I especially didn't like seat assignment fees and no ability to keep your party seated together unless you pay their ridiculous surcharges. By the time you get done with every extra charge they rope you into you can fly any otheir airlicanard possibly for less money. In addition, the seating is terrible. Rows are crammed in tight with the new non reclining rubber pad seats that are sure to send you to the chiropractor. They have the unmitigated gall to cram their credit card sales pitch over the PA followed up with multiple trips up amddown the aisle. Hey Frontier, if I wanted a credit card sales pitch I would stay home and answer the damn robocalls. Nice way to treat your customers, especially after you stab them $3 for a drink."

Pros: "Any of my ratings other than excellent relate only to the fact Frontier is a great airline on a budget, so some issues like food and entertainment are not addressed. I had a great flight."

Cons: "-Missed checked bag check-in by 1 minute, was made to miss flight for something that could have easily been remedied -Zero help or empathy from terminal attendant from Frontier -Made to wait an HOUR AND HALF IN 5 DEGREE WEATHER in Denver by Frontier to drop off a back that was already noted as "checked" -Flight delayed 5 hours with ZERO communication of what was going on -Bags were left IN DENVER after all the trouble and discomfort invested in dropping them off. -Zero response by phone or email during all of this -No system or notification of how to retrieve the bag Frontier left in Denver In sum, it was the worst airline experience I've ever been a part of, let alone even heard of. The only way it could have been worse is if the plane crashed."

Therefore, I cannot complain too much about Frontier since I paid so little and received what was promised: a round-trip flight at an affordable price. I understand that, in order to be competitive, stay open for business, and keep rates low, Frontier must find additional ways to accrue income besides the base fare. However, literally everything beyond a basic ticket was vastly overpriced. "You want to bring more than two tee-shirts and a book? $30." "You want a childs ration of nuts and a soda in flight? $12. You can place them on your 3 inch tray table." And then, as we near the end of an already insufferably uncomfortable flight, we must endure a 20 minute long speech over the PA about the Frontier rewards credit card. I truly appreciate that Frontier Airlines offers competitively unheard of rates for a basic fare. But aside from being allowed to bring a only a change of shirt to Denver for the weekend, sitting in a dingy/cramped plane next to a stranger because I would not pay $42 extra to sit next to a friend, and being forced to listen to the desperate plea of a credit card signup quota, I will next time happily pay the traditional rate to take a flight somewhere where I am treated like I am not a passenger on a Malaysian Airlines flight that has somewhere along the way become lost between the importance of customer satisfaction and competitive prices."

Cons: "I just took a small backpack and duffel bag. They made me pay $40 each way for the duffel bag! I thought every airline at least gave you a personal item and carry-on. This put me in a position of having to put $80 on my personal card for a work trip or to abandon my bag. Ridiculous! I don't like being put in that situation and will remember it next time I go to book. I also recognize they need to make some money off of snacks and drinks, but to not even provide a complimentary drink of water feels extra stingy too."

Pros: "Everything was terrible. First i wasnt notified anywhere on my purchase that Frontier charges a fee for checked bags ANd carry ones!! Then everyone was super rude at me at chekc in. In Denver every check in machine wsd malfunctioninf. This caused huge lines and several people were visibly pissed cuz they misse their flights. I was rudely treated too and yelled at because i inquired how is it possible all machines wre down. Apparently this happens to them in a weekly basis."

Cons: "We will never be flying with frontier again. Not only do you have to pay for your carry on luggage and SEAT both ways, but for the food on your flight! I've never been so outraged on how much I had to pay. And their staff is very rude, especially going into Columbus from Denver. And the fact that you have to pay for your seat is ridiculous because the seats weren't even comfortable and they were dirty. I had trash at my seat both ways. I wish we hadn't flown with frontier. I've never. When sk deisappointed on an airline."

Cons: "Flight was 1.5 hours late due to previous flight at the gate. Gate attendant was rude to several people when the designated city on the gate "sign" changed but they were still boarding previous city. The seats are the most uncomfortable of any airline I have ever flown (I travel 25% for business)."

Cons: "Just ridiculous, as follows: 1-Deceptive web page at check in makes you think paying extra for seats is required 2-Seats don't recline unless you PAY EXTRA 3-Carry on bag? PAY EXTRA 4-Care for a Soda? PAY EXTRA 5-Tray table - the size of a business envelope? Really? 6-In-flight magazine? HA! Read the safety info or the back of the barf bag, that's all Frontier provides. 7-Paid $50 each to upgrade seats to front (1st class?) No refreshments, no amenities, just a bigger tray table and a reclining seat. For $50. Sat on tarmac for 1.5 hours in 90 degree heat. I know this because I could hear the pilot yelling over the radio that it was 90 degrees in the plane. No A/C while on tarmac because APU was down, according to pilot announcement. Everyone I talked to felt deceived by the online check in and the extra charge for seats (if you want to sit with your party, otherwise no guarantees). Bad representation, deceptive web check in, uncomfortable plane, zero amenities unless you PAY EXTRA. Sorry Frontier, but FAIL!!!!"

Pros: "the male flight attendant on our flight was spectacular. he was helpful during boarding, and was kind enough to not disturb our sleeping baby (which I'm sure the entire flight appreciated) while handling the flight. he was also friendly and quietly attentive throughout the flight. i regret not catching his name, but my wife and i both commented on how pleasant he was."
